✓ AvoidDislike how the setup process works, recommending that users put a seed phrase in a password manager or back it up to iCloud similar is really poor security practice. Once you’re past the setup, the app is bending over backwards to sell you crap rather than be a plain and simple wallet. Avoid like the plague, don’t put any serious money in this kind of thing. ✓ Stupid large UI and no scroll function for smaller screensIf you insist on making the UI scale so ridiculously large, at least make sure you enable scroll functionality for those of us who don’t want to lug an iPad sized phone around with us. Literally can’t make a swap/trade because the buttons to finalise are off the bottom of the screen and there’s no scroll functionality enabled. Such a basic error - not sure I want to trust my money/crypto to a company with such a shoddy approach to testing… Also if I’m “not eligible” for the free NFT offer then DON’T falsely advertise it to me within the app. Not impressed that I only found out I’m not eligible AFTER spending the gas. ✓ App has stopped workingApp was a bit glitchy but worked for me for years until 1st July 2023… tried to add a new network and got a “something went wrong” message. All it now does is provide a blue “try again” box, which when you click comes up with the same error. It does not allow you to leave this screen so you are just stuck in a loop and not able to use the wallet. On the latest version of the wallet and latest iOS version on an iPhone 8. ✓ Do not useI came over to this platform because Coinbase said I needed it to buy a certain crypto. I moved about $300 to test it out. The fees are insane! You can’t trade easily. The worst part is that the app had some glitches with FaceID and now I’m completely locked out. There is a recovery phrase, that if I wrote down (what year is this?!?) I could recover my wallet with it. Unfortunately, I did not write it down because I manage my passwords very well. Unfortunately, once you enable FaceID, the app no longer recognized your passwords. It is also buggy enough that when it has the inevitable reset where you are completely locked out, you are out the cash. Glad I only lost a little, so disappointed in this app and that Apple can’t see how many Bot reviews are on it. ✓ Some probs I have when using the appI created an account on coinbase wallet app but got a bit confused on how to add my payment method, I tried to “connect my coinbase account” in order to buy/transfer sth, it says the email I’m using now for the wallet account isn’t recognized so I tried to register, said it’s invalid, but when I finished registration it said my email already exists. So I use computer to go on the website and tried to register, but for the first few pages I’m now allowed to go back and modify my wrong info, I chose I’m a UK citizen by accident but I’m not I’m just staying in UK now, when I tried to go back to former pages I found it’s not allowed, and now I can’t change it, and it can only say that my nationality is wrong. When I tried to sign on it asked me for a recovery phrase. However, when you sign up for the wallet it gives you a recovery phrase. You do not choose your own. Therefore, I cannot recover the wallet. She disputed that she never asked me to remove the app. I asked to speak with a supervisor, she stated the supervisor was unavailable. I asked how do you know when you haven’t reached out or contacted one. She stated she I am unable to get a supervisor on the line . You can call and speak to another representative. The other representative read her notes and responded the same way. My funds are on the blockchain system increasing and decreasing daily without allowing me to retrieve my funds. ✓ Coinbase One (Pointless) - Fee SpreadsThe spread on “no fee purchases” makes up for the difference of what the fee would be. If you look at real point in time price using Coinbase markets.. vs what you buy the crypto at on the app or website, there is about a 1.5% spread difference for Coinbase One users.. to receive less than what you would get with no slippage. That’s used to make up the difference for larger crypto purchases not exhausting the fees out. Actually makes a huge difference when you do it in thousands. Paying $29/mo + that slippage all said and done adds up massive. Plus the tracking of every single thing, using the wallet to Coinbase is going to report to IRS everything that wallet is doing.. which is the exact opposite of what crypto stands for. ✓ User friendly, still not worth itWhere do I begin… I have used many different crypto trading platforms and Coinbase has no doubt proven its worth over the others. I’ve been getting more into NFT trading and as you all know Coinbase doesn’t trade those yet. ✓ Buggy app, zero customer supportWhen I installed the app it gave me a choice of logging in with Apple biometric data or the recovery phrase (which it would be possible to set up later it said) so I opted in for Apple sign in. However, later when I went to settings as recommended to set or back up that recovery phrase, it was impossible as the app kept asking me to log out and log back in using the phrase I never got to set up. Today, the app kicked me out for no reason (!) and I can’t get access to the account. Apparently, I’m still logged in, as it keeps asking me to log out and enter the phrase. ✓ BuggyThis app is buggy. It works but with an annoying bug. When you try to transfer funds from coinbase you can click “Max” which ostensibly would look at your balance, subtract/include whatever transfer fee you incur as a result, and allow you to wind up transfering the max allowable so your balance on the sending side is zero. But you cant. The max button calculates an arbitrary number larger than what you have and then prompts you to buy the coin from Coinbase. That’s not even what transfer means, it’s a bug and here's what you do to fix it: make two buttons. Buy is one button Transfer is the other. That this app has a button which offers an OR function is bad design, not user friendly, and it doesn’t work as expected and is hence, buggy. A clear option to transfer is needed, and a clear difference between buying and transferring is needed. And the transfer function needs to work properly, instead we have to type in a bunch amounts until we arrive at the magic transfer fee plus whatever we want to transfer. If you created a “test” wallet and deposited a small amount into it this will not be available at the same time as another wallet you create. Furthermore, there is no method of merging them. ✓ Don’t useThis app has issues and from I can tell they are not able to address the issues as good as they should be. Had issue where I can send ETC, it just stays stuck of calculating fees. Looked this up and I see where people were having this issue a month ago. Now I have been given steps to double shoot and one of the things said to remove the app and reinstall with the updated version. Well the version I had is the updated version so I re installed and when I click on I already have an account (to log back in mine) all it does is showing the loading symbol but never does anything. ✓ Lost all savingsAt first the app was great after accumulated crypto and was trading fine. You would log in with your faceID and they even have an option to back up your pass phrase to iCloud but be Careful. If you get logged out you will not be able to log back in without your 12 word seed phrase and the faceiD will no longer work. I think it’s a shame for a company heavily funded to develop less than standard applications. I lost a good bit of my savings so don’t fall victim to this and write your passphrase because otherwise you won’t be able to log in and no passwords will work if you forget it because got used to faceID and it’s not stored in chainlink. For about three months, I couldn't transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase Wallet, always getting the same error. I explained this to support a few times, and they said they were working on it. Setting aside first-party integrations, which you'd expect to work 100% of the time, doing other activities such as swapping tokens or making mobile transfers are also glitchy. ✓ Lost Most Of My AssetsBe very careful if you’re new to crypto. I started doing the Optimism quests. Since I really know nothing about crypto I followed each task delicately. Then, I got to the last part which is staking. I did everything that it said to do and I also staked a little bit of my savings as well. When it was time to pull the money out I sent it to my optimism address on Coinbase. Apparently, that is the wrong thing to do because I was supposed to unstake first. As a result I lost that asset which included a little chunk of my savings. It honestly wasn’t a lot but it goes a long way for my family. ✓ Alright..Coinbase has always been a grate app. Very easy to use interface and very intuitive when it comes to its design. Aside from it being very easy to use, the only complain I have is that they seem to be lying about they fees. Specifically when converting from one cryptocurrency to another. For example today I had an amount of 256 in bitcoin and when I decide to convert to tether they said it would be a 2.50 cent fee which is okay and I accepted. But after the transfer was complete and look at my tether balance I only have a balance of 248 which I don’t understand, there is no other fee included and I converted to a stable coin so they’re shouldn’t be such a difference. Which they could just be upfront and honest about the cost i would still probably go ahead through with it but it makes it that much harder to trust them and even make sense if you account balance and transactions when trying to trade..Version: 28.84
