For items like kallax there is no rotation option so you can’t actually visualize furniture in the desired configuration/orientation 3. ✓ Crashed twice, could to use, where are the wardrobes?I tried the app on an iPhone 6s Plus. It takes a while to load at startup (there is a counter from 0% to 100%), not sure what it does. I was looking for a wardrobe, but cannot find them. Where is the wardrobe category? I could not find it so I tried a category at random, but when I tapped on a section, the app froze and crashed. I retried, same story: takes a while to load, tapped on a category, crash. I cannot use the app. Please fix the loading time at startup and most importantly the crash. ✓ It kind of works sort ofHowever AR requires the space to be empty otherwise the furniture just floats on top. The cameras on my iOS devices have too narrow an angle so you have to be able to stand really far back otherwise things are zoomed in too much. It would be much better if I could take a photo and just place the 3d models on top of it. Yes AR is cool but I find it just doesn’t work very well for this use case. ✓ Objects come out wrong sizeThe app does not re-scan the area every time before placing the object on the matrix. This is a very obnoxious problem as the app works well otherwise but there is no way for the user to fix the problem without deleting and re downloading the app again. ✓ Great concept, needs workThis is a great concept, and when it works it is a dead useful way to plan out how you will use space in a room. However, it seems to work only intermittently even on a brand new iPhone 12 Pro with Lidar capabilities. About half the items you pick for the AR experience will show the placement indicator on the floor but as soon as you select where you want to put the furniture, nothing happens. At least half the items I selected to see in the AR view wouldn’t appear. When an item does appear, the app works fine and you can manipulate the piece of furniture to see how it will fill the space. Just needs some work/stability improvements to get a higher rating..Version: 4.2.1

✓ Great proof of conceptI can’t wait to see the improvements coming to this app. Placement worked great however scale was a little off. Tracking of the furniture wasn’t quite right. As I moved around the room, the placement started to slide a little and lamps started to float. The cute little messenger-style intro is about all this app has going for it. What could be more frustrating than an opportunity to see something in your house before bringing it home, and that item isn’t available to view?? Sure, the IKEA catalog is massive - why not add the option to download only the actual furniture you want to see? Problem solved. Meanwhile, the camera has been sitting out of focus the whole time I’ve tried using the app, and when you are asked to point the phone at the floor that’s all you get - no guide lines, no feedback that you are doing the right thing except for some vague little dots which seem to represent that something is in front of the camera. ✓ Not very usefulIt works but as it only has a partial (minimal) catalogue of the available products there’s no point using it as the product you want to size up and preview is unlikely to be there. Every time I’ve been interested in a product and want to see what it would look like in the room it’s not in this app. It needs to be really closely aligned with (or integrated with) the website rather than a standalone app you need to switch between to see if it’s in this app. Lastly it needs a proper search function. Based on the developer responses to other reviews, this is a known issue for at least a year. Are you simply not going to fix this critical bug? To boot, the selection of furniture is very small. We were not able to find any of the furniture items we’re interested in. Also, the browse UI is a real drag. Having to scroll through multiple sections hoping you’ll find what you want just worsens the UX. There are no instructions for how to use it and the ways to manipulate objects in the AR camera are not clear. A one finger drag re-sizes, despite the fact that users are conditioned to re-size using pinch and zoom gestures. Using two fingers rotates items, which also doesn’t make sense. ✓ It’s clever but has a very limited catalogueI installed this app hoping to see how the Kallax storage shelves would fit in my house but alas the Kallax shelves are not listed in the app. I’d have thought this app would actually have included the full range of Ilea items but alas no. When trying to place objects in my room, I was presented with a bounding box for the floor, and several hollow circles when I tried to place objects. Beyond that, nothing! ✓ Sending data to 3rd parties (service providers)This app looked great. Unfortunately, parts of the data processing don’t happen in-house, by IKEA, but by third parties (service partners). Here’s my opinion on what IKEA’s privacy policy for this app means: At the start of their privacy policy IKEA states the don’t share photos with 3rd parties but further down they state they do share them with service providers. They also state photos will be deleted by IKEA but there is no guarantee the service providers will do the same. And finally nothing prevents those service providers to be bought by others in the future, such as insurance companies or Cambridge analytica types, with all their assets, including photos of my home..Version: 3.0.33
