✓ Yay/Nay - contains day 8/9 spoilerThe game is fun and cool but I feel like I’m wasting my tickets whenever there’s an episode of us just picking out who to hang out with - I wait 2 hours for a 2 minute chat and then the episode is already over. After I click, ‘continue’ when I’m done chatting to the islander, I think there should be a scene where some crazy drama happens or someone receives a text and it’s a game. Also, I have now stopped playing the game. This is because after day 8 or 9, all my choices was suddenly reset to a default without any warning whatsoever. Eg I was dating Talia, Allegra was with Miles after I dumped a Jasper from the island and then suddenly I was apparently coupled up with Levi, Allegra was with Jasper and Talia was talking to my character about how she’s not sure she made the right decision being coupled up with Jake. I understand the dev team hard work and effort, they have done a great job with this app, it just needs more work I believe and please allow yourself time to complete this rather than rushing to finish the project to meet with the deadlines.Nice_111Version: 1.05

✓ It’s great but not that greatFirst of all I want to say that I really like this game, it is so interesting and fun to play, I’ve spent so many hours playing it that the day goes by so fast. ✓ Minor issuesI really like this game but I have a few problems with it, so I’m currently playing season one and I had coupled up with Jake, I really liked him but I was also romancing Levi. Anyway we played that challenge of ‘who said this or who did that’ I guessed all of my questions right and had to choose someone to go on a date with, I really wanted to take Jake but he wasn’t an option which was really saddening for me so I ended up taking Levi instead, the date went well I scored some hearts and all that but at that point I was over Levi because I had made up my mind and only wanted Jake, after the date Jake and I talked and he was just friend zoning me so I made it clear I wanted to be more than friends but he just wasn’t having it, ever since then I haven’t been able to score points with him at all no matter what I say, I don’t know if that’s a glitch, like when I say something sweet towards him or something and I just don’t get points for it? Or maybe he just thinks of me as a friend which I find weird but if that’s the case I will most definitely play over the entire season just so I can have him. Also, I hate the fact that we can’t replay chapters after we’ve completed them, that’s really irritating. I wish some sort of login rewards were available or something to get passes and gems, even if only for a short period. Then one day my game complete freaked out and it won’t let my play the game anymore. When it loads it glitches and goes back to my home screen stopping me being able to play. However i find it very hard to enjoy this game fully due to the obvious attempts at making you spend money. I have no problem with game developers trying to encourage you to spend money on their game - my problem comes from every other character telling you you don’t look good enough in the standard outfits. As a 21 year old female i can safely say that i’m past the years of bullying and not feeling good enough, but keeping in mind the younger audience (even up to 18 year olds) that this game attracts, i can’t help but worry that the constant pop ups saying “you could make more of an effort”, “it’s not doing your figure any justice” etc etc, is no good for people’s mentality! Girls and boys could be affected mentally by this massive oversight, and i’m just shocked considering the coverage mental health and the importance of acceptance and self-love is nowadays. A few other reviewers have said to lower the price of outfits which i agree would help people spend if that is what is desired from the developers. However, my main suggestion is to cut out the toxic “you’re not good enough unless you spend 15 gems on a new outfit”, “you aren’t good enough unless you’re wearing a skimpy dress or bikini”. ✓ Gems?I’m loving the game but I find it difficult to play and not hurt the other characters relationships with me when it is almost impossible to obtain more than one gem per level/episode (not sure what you call it). Despite this sometimes royally peeving me off, it shows that this game can make me feel emotions despite the replies and reactions being well rehearsed and precreated and I can see and feel the emotion despite being younger than most of the characters (18) I feel like the character development is amazing however I’ve noticed this annoying little mishap in your other similar games like TXF Life. ✓ Not My “Villa”I understand the want of pushing your newer content to people playing your other game, but taking away the nostalgia and the way most fans learned to love your game is nothing less then disappointing. I first found you through this game, before it was just another way to get money without moving your save files around, and i fell in love. I loved the old characters with styles that were getting consistently better and with love interest people actually cared for. Calling this a “facelift” is disrespectful to those who loved this style and this game, myself included, and honestly shows how little you actually cared for that game more than you did the money, as you now have two games with the exact same stories that people complained about and the same characters we’ve learned to resent. Season 2 was my first season, and no matter how much you’re trying to get rid of it, it will always be my very favorite and now I’ll never be able to play it again, will I? ✓ I love it but..I do really love this game, I’m so gripped by the storyline but sadly some things let it down. I think the story line assumes you’ll do something, which if you don’t it will carry on as if you have. So quite often the storyline just doesn’t make sense, for example I was asked if I liked Gary and my response was No, but for the next few episodes it was brought up many times about how I was interested in recouping with Gary etc and Lottie was aggy with me. I’m on Season 2 and randomly Arjun popped up in the speech writing episode…Arjun didn’t even make it back into the villa in my game so this was a real shock/glitch. I was disappointed in the prom dress episode where all the girls got to pick amazing outfits and my only choice was the free basic black dress you can choose to wear each day - not sure if that was a bug but I was really disappointed. I have had an issue with the app crashing too and losing a pass but to be fair I contacted support and they were incredibly helpful. ✓ Still not workingSo, I have been talking to customer support, and have done everything they suggested - uninstalled and reinstalled, logged back in again, did last night’s update, turned my phone on and off, checked I had memory space... but nothing works, it just kicks me out of the app before loading the first episode of season 2. ✓ MehThe app itself is flawless I can’t really complain in terms of its technicality. There’s a few reasons I’ve chosen to give three stars opposed to five and they are as follows. It bothers me that it stays locked at just two tickets. If I’ve not been on it in a few days I want that to show so when I do have time I can go on it, I understand that the app wants to create some revenue but limiting two passes every two hours (even forty minutes) is unnecessary. Another reason is gems, there should be a way to collect gems again without paying. I’ve personally paid for gems twice (£4.99x2) but for people that don't have that option should still experience the full extent of the game. If they don’t do they really get to experience the game as they should- so think about more adverts for more perks. I choose Gary on the first day (I still like Gary and I’m still trying to be with him) but it’s like everyone forgets this. ✓ LIVID LOVE ISLANDER!Season 1 set the expectations for season 2 extremely high! So to say I am disappointed in this years poor excuse of a game is an understatement. Season 1 is hands down the best game I have ever played, and as soon as I had finished it I was desperate for the next season to come out. I am appalled at this disgrace. I appreciate the variety of options I have to chose from when it comes to the appearance of my character. However I must admit season 1’s was a million times better. ✓ Missed opportunitiesThe developers should of been onto this way before the show started literally the whole time I have 8 days to wait before new day released. Yet it has been advertised alongside the show? Bad organisation there. ✓ Good Premise But FlawedThis app has really good potential and at first I really enjoyed playing it! But they push you to be with Mason or Levi and no one else. They basically push you through the game how they see fit- you’re making your own choice based off of their choice of two guys, so you’re really not choosing much. Very, very annoying. I deleted the app after going through a couple “days” because I didn’t want either of them and that’s how the app kept directing me. I also don’t like how a lot of the good choices require the diamonds, that odds are (if you want to use them every time they’re offered), you’ll have to pay real money for. You can’t really reuse clothing you’ve already spent diamonds on, so they’re wasted, and the game gets snarky and pushy if you choose not to spend any. You can only play a few episodes at a time and then have to wait, unless you pay real money to buy the ticket things. I like the occasional “watch ad to shorten time” thing, but they should offer different options to get diamonds and the tickets, like watching ads or downloading other apps. I love that there are different outcomes and you have a lot of options. BUT!!! And this is a very big but, there are essentially NO opportunities to earn gems. You’re forced to buy them or miss out on exclusive content and have people throw shade for wearing the same clothes over and over. You only earn coins by watching an ad video or finishing an episode THE FIRST TIME. So if you want to play again for a different outcome like they’re so adamant to tell you to do then you won’t even be able to earn gems or access the exclusive scenes without spending real money to use gems. Include more opportunities to earn gems and decrease how much everything costs (20 gems for the reunion episode?? SERIOUSLY??) and you will see a higher retention in users. Because now that I’ve finished everything I won’t be playing again. What’s the point if I don’t get access to any of the other scenes? And then they walk off, little bit after the same character (the partner that dumped me) comes back and acts like a different character (obviously this is a bug where these characters are being mixed up and duplicated, therefore telling me I have to steer my characters narrative this way and that way). ✓ Honest!I will be honest, this is such a fun game! I saw it advertised on Facebook and I got it because I love role playing choice games. Over this weekend I have spent over 8 hours playing it. ✓ Lot of technical issuesI’ve been playing Love Island for awhile now and it’s definitely one of the better visual novel games in the App Store. There’s some filler episodes which are annoying to tap through and sometimes I wished you could pick to stay out of the drama that doesn’t even involve your character but otherwise it’s a fun story to play. The main issue I have with the app are the glitches/bugs that never seem to get properly sorted. I’ve had multiple crashes, wrong backgrounds and the season 1 reunion bug is still there despite the app update stating it’s been fixed. Now I’ve lost gems and my email account is apparently invalid. These are the reasons why I’m always hesitant to spend actual money on game micro-transactions. ✓ Would be higher but…I downloaded this game hoping to just have something to read and also because I am currently watching the tv show. A big pain that I have come across is when I now try open/play a chapter it is just a white screen and would not load. Even before that happened I find this game has a few bad things. Even when you do get them they won’t last very long considering the price of some of the choices are like 10 gems. If you compare this to the 20 gems you get when you first get the game they will definitely not last long. ✓ Great but.....Firstly, I want to start off by saying that this is such a great app! I thoroughly enjoy playing this and I’m enjoying the new season; however, there are a couple of things wrong with it ( hense the 3/5 stars ). The first thing wrong with it is that the items are getting more expensive and tickets are becoming limited to 2, even episode have a ticket limit of 4. If the love island game had 4 tickets, it’ll have more players at a time etc. My second issue is the game cannot properly keep track of what’s happening. ✓ Hmmm 🤔🤔The past few summers i’ve been pretty much addicted to this game, and rightly so, i believe. The story in seasons 1&2 are really good and in depth and you learn a lot about the other characters and other islanders come and go a lot. It’s a lot of fun. However, season 3 is honestly just falling flat. The episodes are really short and you aren’t actually doing anything in them. Season one you had five episodes in a day for 15 days. Season two you had 3 episodes in a day for 30 days. Season three you have 3 episodes in a day for 13 days. The length doesn’t necessarily mean anything but with how the story is going, it feels like very superficial. This season just seems like it was a quick cash grab. There’s nothing wrong with making more seasons bc people do actually enjoy this game (myself included) but, currently, the writing is not on par with the past seasons, there is less character customization than in previous seasons and there isn’t much of a sorry even being told. I understand I shouldn’t be comparing the seasons bc they are each their own thing but season 3 is honestly just not great. Last year for season 2 i would play the episodes as soon as i woke up and then i’d only think about the next episodes for the following days. this season, i feel like playing is a chore, it’s just not as enjoyable as past seasons. ✓ Could be amazingThe concept is great and the storyline is so gripping, I don’t even watch love island but after playing this I think I’ll have to! There are a few points worth mentioning in terms of improvements that could be made. First of all the customer service is shocking, since the app has so many issues you do have to reach out sometimes to ask for help but you will never ever get a response. I had an issue where when picking an outfit in season 1 I literally was not given the choice to pick a basic outfit that didn’t cost any gems, it would not let me select ok but would do it for gem outfits, it took a pass off me and then it crashed and wouldn’t continue the episode ( the passes I had paid for as well ). The passes take 2 HOURS to replenish and you only get 2, this needs to be improved, either give people more passes or make them replenish in half the time. There are also lots of glitches in the story, where it’s supposed to all be about choices during challenges and even if you get them all right and there’s been a couple who have got some wrong but they still win and several other linear problems. ✓ Glitches and lost storylineI really have loved the love island game, however recently there have been a lot of glitches. When the recoupling on day nine (I think) happened, I chose to couple up again with bobby. He responding with ‘what did ibrahim think of your decision?’ But I have never even been coupled up with him. In the new recent episode (day 11), I chatted with bobby about how things are going, and I was very confused with the outcome. From day one, I have spent gems on choices with him, and there have been nothing but the positive hearts coming from him. It seemed completely out of the blue that he suddenly decided that he didn’t want to continue our ‘relationship’. Obviously I completely understand if this is the storyline but I do think that it is strange that all of a sudden he is saying that I was coupled up with ibrahim and that he ‘didn’t feel something’, even though earlier on in the episode he said the opposite. I just feel like the app has many glitches this season and fails to follow and remember past choices. If you could get back to me on this then it would be appreciated as it is affecting my enjoyment of the game. ✓ Great game but buggyI have really been enjoying season 2 but I’ve noticed a few times that characters will say you’ve done things that you haven’t. For example I’ve always chosen one character and told that character I will always choose them and then randomly he tells me he was worried at the recoupling because I told him on our date that I wouldn’t choose him. I absolutely did not choose that option. Also, on another occasion a woman told me she was worried I would choose her guy even though I told her I wouldn’t. On another occasion characters would tell me I did or said something against them when I didn’t. These kinds of things ruin the game completely for me and I don’t feel like completing the season or playing any of the others now. EDIT: the developers has responded and I am happy that they are looking further into the season’s issues. I am continuing the storyline and haven’t come across any more inconsistencies in storyline. I had such high hopes for season 2, and while I feel the storylines and characters were definitely better this time around, there seems to be so many glitches (if that’s the correct term). No matter what choice I make, it doesn’t affect the outcome or character reactions. For example, I chose Gary from day one. I was then picked by Ibrahim, but every time he spoke to me I made it clear I wasn’t interested. Lottie made it clear she liked Gary; but I said I still wanted to pick Gary. After the recoupling, both Lottie and Ibrahim confront me and react as though I told them I wasn’t going to pick Gary, when literally a moment before, I told Ibrahim I wasn’t picking him, and all day, I’d replied to Lottie that Gary was my choice. Then the next day Marisol confronts me for all the “shady” choices I’d made. This is the most recent example, but there have been so many from previous episodes. No matter what choice I make, characters react in different ways to the replies I make, so it’s made season 2 a massive disappointment. ✓ Great game but needs maintenanceLove the idea of becoming a character on Love Island and living the experiences in this way. The app has many positives but a couple of things have let it down for me. Firstly I am fed up with getting halfway through a scene to then have it crash. ✓ Love but...I absolutely love this game, all the characters, and the story! I’ve been playing this game since the first season came out a couple of years ago and every summer season I get excited for a new season! But this season (season 3) I’ve been running into a couple of hiccups... Almost every time I launch the app and I’m waiting for it to load it gives me a message saying that something has went wrong and it will try again in 5 seconds. Then sometimes when I click on season 3 sometimes the ticket and gem spots at the top of the screen won’t display anything, they’ll just be blank. Other times it won’t remember that’s I have played previous episodes and try to make me replay them (to that I just clear and relaunch the app). Lastly sometimes the whole app just automatically force closes and it’s getting kinda frustrating because I’m so excited to play the game but I can’t. Another thing besides fixing those bugs that I’d like to change is whenever I watch an ad after I finish an episode is to bring back the reward not only giving you 2 extra gems but before when I’d watch an ad the time I would have to wait for my tickets to refill would decrease significantly or even refill. The graphics are great, and you get to choose your own path and etc. but what really gets on my nerves whilst playing this game is that each outfit costs 15 gems, and I am not willing to pay money for these gems, so I save up. During the process of saving up for gems, I am forced to wear the same outfit every day, and the characters constantly question your outfit if you wear it more than once, which changes their opinion if you. I would also like to say that if you attempt to restart and episode (bottom right corner) it costs 1 VIP PASS. I attempted to restart 1 episode twice, and it took my passes-but didn’t play the game, which is a glitch, or something else to get passes from players. Finally, I would also like to point out how the most recent episodes are released every week. (For example, I got to Day 15 and had to wait a week before I could read Day 16, same thing for the weeks ahead.) I am not a very patient person and hate this quality but I understand why. There’s so many more options for who you can go for unlike season 1 where’s there’s five people you can actually end up with but two are shoved down your throat the whole time. There are some really big decisions that you make in the game that affect how other islanders see you forever. For example when Allegra asks you if you’re cracking on with Mason, you can say yes or no. I chose yes both times I played the game but both times she then later told me off for lying to her when I said no?! And the Christmas reunion is the worst example. I can’t even finish the first series because it gets stuck on the same episode and won’t let you progress, so you have no option but to replay all of the chapters again. ✓ Downhill.I am someone who absolutely adored this game during S1 and S2. Season 2 particularly had a range of characters, interesting storylines, etc. However Season 3 feels like a let down. It is very short, lacks a large range of dialogue, none of the Love Interests (LIs) are very unique, and there is no real drama. I have tried to continue on with Season 3 however the most frustrating part is that the game will not load past 24% on the loading screen. Every time, it will load to 24% then say there was an error and will reload and then will get to 24% again and then crash. I have turned off Game Centre but there is no way to get it to load other than to delete the app and then redownload it, in which case that time it will load and work but as soon as I close the app or leave it for an hour, I come back and it will not load again (only up to 24%). This is completely frustrating and I do not want to delete and redownload the app everytime I want to play an episode. I have an iPhone 8 so its not that my phone is old, and I have heaps of storage left. Regardless of how I feel about season 3, I really really really love this game and think its so unique and well done! ✓ Crashes and bugging ruins this gameI used to love playing this game. It’s sooo fun!! But since the season 2 upgrade the app has been repeatedly crashing and bugging. (All of my problems have been with season 2) I’ve had to delete this game 3 times and completely restart my data (which was never a big problem because i’ve never been able to get farther than day 3), but the reason i’m writing this review is because this is the last straw. I decided because of all these crashes to play season 1 instead, not buy anything, and just watch the ads at the end of each episode and get 2 gems. I amassed 144 gems at the end of season 1, and started season 2 happily. I bought ONE 10 gem gameplay option and today as i started playing, I ONLY HAD 20 GEMS. It took me 7 days to complete season 1. I’ve made you money by watching these ads, and have written positive reviews in the past. It makes me sad as a consumer that you can’t fix this.
