✓ Glitches LatelyMessenger Kids, in general, is a bit more complicated than regular messengers that we've used in the past. My son uses this app all the time, but the last couple of days he tries to chat with a friend and it doesn't go through. He can see what his friend says, but sometimes he replies and gets the red "!" which, when touched, says "Send Failed - An error occurred while processing this request. Please try again later." It doesn't appear that it's our connection causing a problem as other online things work, and it happens on both the laptop he's using, and on my iPhone. I checked to make sure the app is updated, and it is, but it continues to not send. I see that other people are experiencing issues that sound similar, and that they began around the same time, which is when the app had an update. Developers -please check and see if there is something you can do on your end since there are several having issues. My son and his friends are currently having to use the chat on Roblox to communicate. I might have him just use the regular messenger instead if MK won't work. ✓ Having troubleWhen it said allow access to camera we pressed allow and it brought us to settings and there was nothing in settings about it so we deleted the app and when we tried to re install it it said we need a Apple ID but we did it definitely correct and it didn’t work So we did the forgot Apple ID and then it said enter ur password to get into ur iPad and we did and it correct but it said we didn’t and we are confused what is going on pls reply we are rlly struggling if u could tell us what to do in the future when it says allow access to camera that would be great cause we have been trying all day and me and my friends play Roblox while we call and i can barley ever hear them and I have family in other countries and it doesn’t let me message them ty for reading this message we hope u can get back to us soon.Version: 202.0

✓ I have 1 suggestion and 1 problem..I really loves messenger kids. I use it to talk to my younger family members and it’s a really fun and easy app to use. I have 1 suggestion though. It would be nice to have a button to save videos to the camera roll like there is already on photos. I have 1 problem which is that all of a sudden today every time I open the app and click on one of my little cousins to chat with them it kicks me off the app. I’ve forcefully shut down the app, I’ve turned my phone off, and I’ve tried to update the app but it doesn’t need to be updated. ✓ GREAT but…I love this app so much, it allows me to talk to my friends in a kid friendly way. But whenever I do the guess the drawing game, I’ll hold my finger on the page but it will fill the whole page with that colour, it will colour up the whole page and get rid of the amazing drawing that me and my friends do. this is the only thing I find bad however, everything else is working much better..Version: 211.0
✓ SecurityI really like this app for being able to view my children’s conversations without taking their phone and appearing like I’m snooping but don’t like the fact that kids can be added to group chats automatically without them approving. Think this feature needs to be added as some kids spam with messages and then it’s visible when your child leaves the group everyone is notified. Causing a few issues at school. Would love an update on this section then it would be awesome. Kids/parents should be asked if they want to be added to a group. ✓ Needs Landscape ViewDownloaded this app so my 2 year old could see a larger image of her grandma (who lives in another state) on the iPad rather than the tiny image on my phone. Most iPad cases for kids are landscape oriented, and so are most kids apps. The cases we have for the iPad all have handles that only really make sense to be used in landscape. The fact this Messenger app doesn’t have the option to be used landscape (even just for video calls, although full landscape functionality would be preferable) is really disappointing. The safety features are great, but the lack of choice to change orientation really brings the usability of the app right down for most kids. Hoping that developers will add this as a feature in the future, so that the Messenger for Kids app can be used on iPads like the normal Messenger app is used on phones…kids don’t need to be able to see their own image very large…that can be reserved for portrait orientation. But having the other caller’s image cover the whole screen with a tiny overlaid image of the person using the app in the corner like with regular messenger…not sure why this wasn’t implemented to being with. Would be really helpful for families that are broken up by interstate or international borders!.Version: 215.0
✓ Good but a few bugs.This is a good app but there is a bug/glitch when I try take a photo, when I take a photo then it always zooms up a lot even when my face was far away from the camera. So now I can't talk to my friends anymore because you developers made an update for rich people. I used this app every day until May 25 2021 now I don't have any other way to talk to my friends. ✓ My agreement and parents guide.Hi, I’m Lilly. (Over all I love this app so much, it has great filters and great game’s) But…. I am not a huge fan on the message side I liked it with the bubbles around it but when I recently updated the app it wasn’t there anymore… And me and my friend's really love that it had bubbles around it and (#2 I loved that one game where you got to add music and selfies and stuff but again it’s not on there and I would really love it if you put that back on and sorry if I’m coming off as rude but that’s just my opinion) Also if you are a parent reading this ps. None of this is really affected to the app it’s just the fixes and things like that, if you’re kid wants this app I really suggest this app alot more than more app’s because, before I say if you’re a really protective parent then this is an app for your kid, teen. ✓ Region glitch - app not availableI am in the same region as my child but, while I can access Messenger Kids, when I try to access it on my daughter’s phone I am told it’s not available in my region. I have Googled and tried all the fixes but nothing works. All her friends at school use this app ap to communicate so it’s clearly not a region issue! ✓ Suggested but some glitchesIt is a good app and I do suggest it, however there are some bugs. For awhile it was working perfectly for a year until out of nowhere my messenger kids wouldn’t show my friend’s messenges and it would keep saying ‘reconnecting’. The messages would only show through my notifications and luckily my friend could too but it was annoying. My internet was fine since other internet based apps were working, even google. When it was reconnecting it still didn’t show the conversation reloading and sometimes reconnect over and over, and this isn’t just a problem in my phone. The friend I was talking too has this problem and another 2 people I know have problems with the app and they’re internets are fine and it continues to be not fixed. ✓ Fine I guessIt’s an ok app but the only problem I have with it is that when I tried to switch accounts it asked me to authorize into my dads Facebook account. ✓ A Really Bad BugThere is really bad bug going around and it is making it so I can’t reach my friends to chat! I can’t reach the girl I like,MY BEST FRIEND! I am so annoyed and this isn’t just me the girl I like lost her best friend to! However I can reach them in groups. My class is starting to slowly and gradually get the bug. I can reach (some people but not everyone). I can’t reach my cousin ether! However, I can possibly get onto our chat bye going on to groups and picking them and only them! ✓ Great but not at the same timeI think this app is great for children to be able to contact family/friends in a safe way where parents can monitor it easily but I have a an issue I wish this app would implement. I wish there was an option to just make a normal call and let the parents deactivate the camera as there are some people I don’t want my child to be video calling and them being able to see all around my house etc, super frustrating that video call is the only option with the child in control of the camera being on or off. My daughter is hardly using this app anymore because of this issue so I hope in future something can be changed so we can have to option to allow video calling or not..Version: 211.0

✓ Sweet App, Needs WorkThis is absolutely a great ideal app for parent’s and their kids, me being a child user I love how I can talk with my friends through messages even though they don’t have a phone number. I only have one request that would make me give this app a six star rating if you added this feature/customization to the app. I know coding is hard and app development is even harder, even though I don’t know how, I would be incredibly grateful if you added a dark mode feature to the app. I have poor vision and read a bit oddly. I have a hard time reading black text on white, and a lot of white bright light from my device absolutely blinds me and causes me to squint terribly hard. I read best with bold simple font in a fairly large font size in dark mode, aka, inverted colors, aka, white text on black background. If I could make my message bubbles black even, that would definitely help me out more! Thank you for providing a good, safe, friendly app for kids! I know how much effort it takes for app developers and I think all app developers deserve some appreciation for the hard work y’all put into making us apps that we use daily and help us connect with others or help us in life..Version: 243.0

✓ Frustration +I was sent a link by a friend on my phone...created an account for each child via my phone then loaded the app onto their iPads. Could not for love or money find a way to log in or link to the accounts I had created. On their iPads it kept asking me to create a new account, nowhere to log in. So I created new accounts on their iPads but then cannot see or link to them on my phone 😬 I deleted EVERYTHING from all devices and started from scratch and same problem...what the hell, back to Hangouts/Whattsapp and Discord! ✓ Good app, with some issues and glitchesThis is coming from a kid, who is using this app, and I would just like to say that I do love this app - it lets me talk to others on Samsungs without phone numbers, and it is very good in general. Though there are some minor issues with it, alongside glitches. First of all, it gets rid of some of your contacts when someone comes online, and you have to go into make a new group and press that person to get to it. Second of all, it very regularly hangs up or freeze’s the person you are video chatting with, and is very very annoying. And a lot of the time you cannot get from the video chat into the messages, it’s just greyed out. My friends are having these issues as well, so I know it’s not just my phone. Please fix this. And the issues as well. I’m getting a bit older, and messenger kids is very bright. Maybe make a different, dark mode for anyone who wants to make it less colourful and childish. ✓ Problem and a SuggestionI think this game is great for those who aren’t aloud to message people on messenger and I’ve been using it for a while cause it’s super helpful, but there’s a new problem I’ve found, though I am not sure if it’s just me... After I did the resent update I went to chat to my friends but I couldn’t see them on the home screen (if that makes sense) the only options it gave me was to message my father, or someone on my group chat that I had made with all my friends. It was really confusing cause it said that I could message them and that they were on my contact list, but there was no button to click that would teleport me to that private chat which is very annoying. The only way I can teleport to that chat is when I have the notification that my friend messaged me. A suggestion I have is that you should make it able to log in on a different account. I tried doing this when my problem occurred in the first paragraph but then I realised that you couldn’t do it. I think that this could be very helpful and useful for other kids using this app..Version: 160.0

Would also love to see a separation between active conversations and all contacts which can get very confusing to the kids. Would also like to be able to do just audio calls in addition to video calls like normal messenger. Would also like to see an option to put app on do not disturb mode separately from just the bedtime settings either as a toggle option or a blackout middle of the day period option (example school hours). ✓ This app is good butOverall this app is pretty good parents can control who their kid talks to and what they talk about. There is a couple of downs though like the child who own messenger kids needs to have data to send messages, this could be a problem because when the child is out of home and they take their device with them to message their percents to make sure their safe they CANT message their parents because they need data so yea. And also there is no way to change the settings on when the app goes to sleep, could someone please tell me how to do that it’s REALLY annoying. And also the app doesn’t let you send friend requests to your mom to check if it’s ok to have them as a friend. ✓ Some elements are awesome but room for improvementI love that as a parent I have control over who my kids’ contacts are and that both sides have to approve. It would be great if your kid is on a call already it would block other calls coming through. I really like sleep mode but it would be good if there was more flexibility in this (ie. allows a morning and afternoon session for weekends). It would be great if there was a quick way to block calls if family time arises without having to change the sleep mode. My 8year old son finds there are lots of glitches where it hangs up and nobody has pressed anything. He has loved having this as a new way to communicate with his friends on his own device and not having to beg to borrow mine..Version: 126.0
✓ GamesThe games are a great idea but there is some games that do not work like the bunny bridge at the first level it is easy and shows you how to do it but the second level it is impossible for kids and there is not enough bridges to get to the fruit and there is another game we’re it is on a video chat I don’t know what it is called but u have to tell your friend how to get to the pizza and this is hard because kids will need to figure out left or right and then tell their friend and they will have to figure out left or right and the timer will go off before they get half way and I’ve tried this and the touch screen is not that good on some phones so u might have to tap it a few times so please fix this it is frustrating.Version: 121.0
✓ My kids love this.. but literally NO boundariesI have had this app for ONE day and my phone is nonstop blowing up. I have turned all notifications off (which I’d rather not have to do) However. There is not any type of a silent mode or an option to not contact the kids at a certain time. Even with zero notifications my phone keeps going off with all of the phone calls coming in from my child’s friends. Like 10x/minute. It is way too much. I have found myself logging on asking my daughters friends to please respect that it is bedtime. There needs to be some boundaries on this app! Like there should be a “do not disturb” option and also a function that requires parents permission for FaceTiming. Giving them access to chat at any time with friends is a complete invasion of privacy. My daughter respects it once I catch on that she’s FaceTiming.. but I should be able to allow the time frame when she has access to do it period. Already had a “moment” where I had to raise my voice and she’s literally FaceTiming with a friend.. who is in front of her parents.. and they heard everything. Beyond uncomfortable knowing that our privacy is invaded by kids that are just doing what the app allows them to get away with. More boundaries please or this thing is getting deleted. ✓ FiltersI enjoy the app, I have Snapchat and Instagram and all that kinda of thing however I need this to stay in touch with certain friends. I don’t have an issue with the app however I do think certain filters are a bit insensitive. For example the “emo” filter, the one where you turn from candy kid to dark green and emo is rather insensitive to actual Emo’s because of the way it portraits them. I would like to hope that you do something about this? Also maybe adding a few more cute filters, I get this isn’t Snapchat but it could try to be nearly as good so even though it’s aimed at 4-5 year olds it would still be nice. Another thing that I find rather annoying is the fact that we can’t change each others contacts. For example, I have a friend (for confidential reasons I’ll use the name Cautlin for her) so her name is Cautlin <insert last name> however I wish that I could change it too Cautlin 👑✨🤍 but I can’t because of the fact we can’t change contacts. I hope this is a feature added soon because me and my friend groups being early teens would really appreciate being able to name each other our nicknames instead of just there actual name..Version: 199.0

✓ Nice idea. BUT there’s a fundamental flaw. FIX IT or we’re leavingI created an account for my son and was able to add some of our adult family & friends whom he would like to call, but not able to add others, specifically his mother and grandmother. I am Facebook friends with all adults we’d like to add as his contacts but they simply don’t show up in the list of available contacts. My wife also downloaded the Kids Messenger app but when she tried to add our son as her child the system created a DIFFERENT account with the same child’s name and is now getting requests. Obviously we don’t want to manage two separate accounts and my wife now can’t delete the redundant account she created. Surely there is a way for child to have two parents (!) in control of the account and allow access to family members and friends WE approve (not at the discretion of Facebook bots) Please advise how we can resolve this ridiculous situation.Version: 185.0
✓ Needs some changesJust a note for the developers. It would be great if you could have more then just 2 parents as moderators for the kids account and make it so you can change/remove moderators for kids account more easy. Also adding people is annoying as sometimes it doesn’t show up with certain people unless I’m friends with them but even times I’ve been friends with the person and still couldn’t add them as a friend. Deff needs to be easier to search and add friends. If these things could be fixed it would be amazing ✌🏼.Version: 221.0

✓ FrustratingHad the same issue as previous review. Set it up on my phone. Then tried to set it up on another device for my step son to use and for the life of me could not work out how to do it and ended up with 2 separate ones. Not straight forward at all! Great idea but difficult to work out how to get into the settings once you’ve set it up and impossible to workout how to share to other devices..Version: 120.0
✓ One thing.So this is a great app and all. but my parents can read EVERY message i send to a friend or a family member. why do they have to know everything thats going on in my school life or my daily life? ✓ It’s a good app- few suggested fixesThe app is quite good- easy to use and I like that as a parent I have complete control over it- especially no one being able to be added as a contact without a parent approving. SUGGESTED FIXES: - I like that you can snooze the app on and off using times- but I wish there was an additional tab to quickly and easily snooze it on and off without having to mess with the times - it would be GREAT if it showed the other person trying to ring or message that the app was in snooze mode, so they didn’t think they were deliberately not answering or replying - I have the messenger kids app downloaded on my device so I can monitor all message threads, I don’t like how I get all of the calls coming through my device. I would like to be able to disable this on my device only..Version: 130.0
