✓ What the heck happened to the ability to customiseHey I was put in review two days ago and I didn’t get a message back as to why I was and I was finally fed up with not knowing so I made a new account and went to customise it like my old one but I noticed that you’ve updated the app and now I can’t customise my avatar. I can’t change the eye shape, bone structure, lip’s, chin etc etc. I can’t add accessories or jewellery and such and so on. As soon as I opened the app it asked for access of my mic, camera, notifications, and contacts. I thought it asking for my contacts was normal because most social media apps or video calling apps ask for them so you can find people you know. After that I made my avatar and went to eat when my older sister told me she got the same kind of text from a random number so she looked at reviews and they were saying it was stealing information. I then realized that since it has my contacts it also has the ability to get addresses sent through texts, links, and other personal information. Here’s what you should do: 1. ✓ DONT LET IT ACCESS YOUR CONTACTS.I downloaded this app to try and meet some new people and I let it access my contacts. As soon as I did, I got a text from a random number saying my name and that some one was talking about me on this app, with a link. No more than a minute later, I hear my sister upstairs saying to her friend, “Don’t you hate those texts that are like ‘Yo (her name) someone’s talking about you on this app’”. It was the exact same text I had gotten. I can only assume that everyone in my contacts got a text, which is an invasion of privacy and a bad way to get people to know about this app. When you let them have your contacts, they take all of the information in your contacts and message every single one with the same text that me and my sister got. ✓ PredatorsAs a girl using this app many guys immediately asked me to send pictures which I kind of ignored at cost until a user by the name of Bedri asked for my snapchat. I already knew he wasn’t who he said he was so I decided to add him on there to try and fish him out a bit more (even though I know I shouldn’t have). After I had exposed him for not being who he said he was he blocked me on snapchat. Then I went back onto itsme to message him there where he then blocked me again. I tried to report him only to find out there was no report button. I resorted to rating him and pressing ‘other’ and the option that allowed me to send a message to I’d assume it was the developers but the button didn’t do anything. Many other boys I have met through the app seem suspicious just not as easy to track down. I do believe that a large number of 15-16 year old boys on the app are older than they say they are and all they do is ask for inappropriate pictures..Version: 1.1.51

The invasion of privacy is so crazy, the reviews tell you not to share your personal contacts, and they are right. Most had to uninstall the app because the privacy was getting messed up. If you are here trying to make friends, be careful on what people say. I bumped into this girl (that wasn’t a girl) asking for inappropriate pics. ✓ Do NOT get this appAll of my friends and I have all gotten the text saying “Hey ____, your friend invited you to chat on itsme.” When we all got the text, the name that was placed was only names that we call each other, or our names were misspelled. When I got the app to see what it was, it asked to go into my contact list, which I thought was a way of getting into my personal information. It had also asked for my number and location! I had declined all of them thinking that it was sketchy. When I found which friend it was, I was informed by them that they didn’t even have the app! App is amazing but it can sometimes be full of people who enjoy talking to you, add you, and if you don’t give them an ounce of attention for like ten minutes, they block you. ✓ Very good but this app is supper scuffed!!This app is great and i love meeting and talking to very interesting people and talking about interesting stuff, this app is absolutely perfect for making friends rather than some of the other apps you see advertised. However this app can be completely broken sometimes and not work properly and also some people on this app just flat out dont respond or interact before suddenly they cut the call off or end the chat and they disappear forever. But the one encounter that i had made me want to write this review I connected to a guy that sent me a video of a puppy being killed by a knife being stuck inside its but hole, i went to report the guy to its me and sent a message to the detailing what happened and giving them his name and stuff and got this message in response “Hi there! If a conversation disappears, that most likely means either you or the other person removed one another as a friend. ✓ Read this before installingSo I got this app and it asked me for access to my contacts. I had already read the other reviews explaining how it sent links to your contacts so they would download the app. I just wanted to see for my self what would happen, and please, I recommend that you do NOT get this app. There’s something going on because not only did the app send links to my friends that I talk to a lot, but it must have read my messages because it used names that only my friends and I call each other, and phrases that only my best friend and I made up. But the thing is, the phrases we had made up were saved in my notes and I never used them while texting so it was very creepy. I told my parents and all we could really do was delete the app so we did but somehow it still was sending links to my contacts, and it even sent a link to the kids I babysit’s parents who are in my contacts. ✓ Suspicious..I decided to download this app because I like watching a girl on tiktok that does POVS, so when I downloaded it, I first got suspicious when it asked for my camera to be enabled because the avatar would follow my movements but I’m not comfortable with the app seeing what I’m doing. It asked for my birthday which I don’t like sharing with apps. I left the app to delete it, and there was a microphone icon next to my battery percentage, like it was listening to me, even though I didn’t enable the microphone.. creepy..Version: 2021.12.02
✓ App Crashing/ account restThe ‘Itsme’ app crashed on me like 4 times when I tried to open the app up like usual. But my data was fully gone and it asked me to create an avatar, as if I was logging in for the first time😭 I lost all of my friends on there, and all of my account data in general.
