VeSync for Negative User Reviews

Works fineWorks good but to be fair I’ve only used it once so far I’ve only had my fryer for 1 day. But I’ll say there is a bit of a lag between what the app says to what the fryer displays.Version: 4.1.60

Sold my email to spamI recently registered my humidifier using an apple “hide my email” address. 2 days later I’m getting spam emails from grocery stores, ones I don’t even have in my city, all being sent to the dummy email. Already received 4 different emails from 4 different grocery stores in a 20 minute span..Version: 3.1.61

It’s decent but it has issuesThis app used to be a lot simpler but it’s changed and with the change came a lot of glitches. The worst one for me is that the widget will say “Unable to load” when I access it from anything but the Home Screen. I used to use the Lock Screen to turn off my lights but now I can’t. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times, and it fixes it but only for a bit. Why does this keep happening? What’s the point of the widget if I can’t use it properly? I also wish they never added the store part to the app because it feels like one big ad page..Version: 4.1.30

Mixed reviewsI really really want to like this app. But. The IDIOT product manager that decided it was a good feature to annoy the customer should be fired. Yes. When I want to connect to a brand new device and Bluetooth isn’t enabled, it’s ok to tell me to enable Bluetooth. BUT when I’ve already connected my devices and I open the app DO. NOT. ANNOY. ME. with a message saying I need to enable Bluetooth. Why the F am I getting a message to enable Bluetooth when I’m not adding a new device. I simply am opening the app to check my EXISTING devices. There is no GD reason I need Bluetooth enabled to check existing devices. Do your product managers even use this app??.Version: 3.1.28

Beware, no app privacy!!I bought a Levoit 400s air purifier and found that it does not support Homekit. Then I downloaded this app so that I might control the unit from my phone. Then I saw I need to create an account and/or login to use the app. That raised red flags for me. Then I looked at what data the app collects. I saw that this developer collects user content, contact info, and health & fitness info from the phone that is linked to my identity. Come one, where is the privacy? Why would I buy another Levoit product that can be controlled through this app if I’m not offered any privacy? Stop taking my data! Especially data linked to my identity!! Unfortunately, I must now remove this app from my phone because I don’t want my data harvested. Developers that harvest data linked to the user are driving customers away, at least the ones that are aware of what’s going on. Fortunately for these data harvesting apps, most people are still unaware of the depth and scale to which their data is being stolen by 75% of the third-party apps on their phone..Version: 4.1.31

Pointless App for Air FryerThis app seemed great, and was half the reason I bought this particular air fryer. I thought i would be able to preheat my air fryer while I was on my way home so I could pop my food in as soon as I got there and the air fryer would already be heated. However, in order to actually preheat your air fryer using the app, you still have to be physically at your house to push the “Start” button, which completely defeats the purpose of even having an app for it since I can’t turn it on using the app… it takes more time to pull the app up and get it to the proper setting, then having to physically click the button, than it does to just manually change the temperature on the machine since you have to physically click the start button anyways. So what is the point of having the app?? There is none!! I might be returning my air fryer since it doesn’t actually do what I bought it to do..Version: 4.2.30

Does not support levoit 131 air purifier!!!When I try to click add device and select the levoit 131 air purifier (LV-PUR131S) it brings me to an interface for setting up a smart plug. Tried on both iPhone and iPad. Selecting the other air purifier mod brings you to the proper interface for pairing but will onbviously not work as I have a different model. Wifi from air purifier working as normal as it’s showing up in list of available networks..Version: 3.0.48

Wi-Fi Connection no longer holds………Having purchased the LEVOIT Smart WiFi Humidifiers back towards the end of Aug it worked with the app really well until a few days ago when the app was updated. It now no longer stays connected and I have to reset the humidifier to reconnect via Wi-Fi. This is pretty useless for a ‘smart’ device and disappointing..Version: 3.1.33

Fix the Widget!!Update: widget is still not working consistently, I really wish I didn’t waste my money on these lights. I just want a Lock Screen widget that works, but instead it either won’t toggle lights, or it constantly says “unable to load”, and I have to open the app anyway. Don’t waste your money if you are looking here for confirmation on buying VeSync lights… These bulbs are pretty solid, even in low Wi-Fi, despite the color range not being as wide as I might want. The real issue is the “widget”. The original version of the Lock Screen widget for iOS was part of the favorites tab, and worked well as a Lock Screen button, no Face ID needed at all. NOW, however, they have completely removed that feature, and replaced it with a new dedicated widget. The problem is though, this new iteration simply opens the app, forcing you to unlock and open your phone completely, and then you have another app open. The only reason I can think they would do this is to harvest data, by forcing us to open the app and trigger any permissions/location based pings. Conspiracy theories aside, the whole point of having smart bulbs is for ease of use, I don’t want them to ADD steps with future updates..Version: 4.1.31

BruceThis is useless. Only updates when holding the phone. Doesn’t pair with Apple Health like it says it does. Really doesn’t do anything..Version: 4.2.20

Food/Nutrition logging IssuesI bought the smart scale and I’ll start by saying I love it! It’s super accurate and I love that it tracks everything in the app and it shows all the metrics - I also enjoy the fact that it has a food/nutrition log that way i don’t have to bounce between apps… HOWEVER - everytime I enter a food or scan a barcode - the app automatically sets the weight of the food to 100 grams and I don’t see a way to copy previous entries… so every day I have to re log the MUCH lesser quantities and it’s extremely time consuming. I’d like to not have to switch between apps to track my nutrition but it’s getting to be a hassle..Version: 3.2.22

Cannot import data from vesyncfitI have used vesyncfit for quite a while and got a message saying it is being retired and need to download this instead. Very disappointed to find that despite collecting the same metrics there is no option to import the weight data etc from the original app. There is an option for manual entries and just reentering the weight measurement whilst a pain is doable, but not all the other metrics! Other than that very similar to vesyncfit as far as weight measurement goes..Version: 3.0.59

Screen doesn’t update during cookingThe timer screen is cool, but if you come back to it after backgrounding the app it hasn’t updated. You literally have to pop the view back to the main view then tap it again to see the current time..Version: 4.1.10

Good AppI’ve been using this app for a lil over 4 months now, I bought a smart scale and this is the app to use with it and I love all the features that come with it, like the badges you earn when weighing in everyday or logging your meals or even just commenting and talking with others in the community, I’ve even bought the smart jump rope (which I love!) and the smart dumbbells, but one thing that does bother me is, my Apple Health is connected to the app and I do a workout, the workout will show in the app but it won’t count as me logging a workout I have to manually add the workout in which then makes it seem as though I’ve done two works when I’ve only done one and if I forget to log that workout my progress for that badge will delete and start all over again so I’m finding myself just logging like a 5 minute stretch so that it would count towards my badge progress. I hope in the very, very, very near future that, that bug can be fixed because it’s really a pain. All the other badges are in sync except for that one and it’s the only reason why I gave 3 star and not 5..Version: 4.2.30

Horrible productThis app does not allow manual entry, only scans. This requires extra steps. You cannot return to a previous screen if something is not correct. I was caught in an endless loop and finally gave up..Version: 4.2.10

Eff off and stop spamming me to review your crapGo away.Version: 4.2.10

Add option to calibrate humidity sensor! Why is it so hard to add an option to calibrate the humidity sensor? Levoit humidifier sensor is 7-10% off than actual humidity! This the humidifier kept over humidifying and caused mold in my room! Even my $10 humidity sensor has option to calibrate and a device of 10 times price doesn’t have such a trivial feature!.Version: 4.2.40

A little disappointedI loved VeSyncFit, it synced to Apple health and worked great. I’m being forced to move to this new app that doesn’t look as good and for some reason isn’t syncing with Apple health even though it says it does. Considering this is supposed to be progress it feels like a step backward.Version: 3.1.28

Half of the screen on the app doesn’t workWeirdly the bottom half of the screen doesn’t work on the app. My phone is new and works fine, but trying to select a room for where the air fryer is located (which is weird in itself because why would it be anything other than kitchen?) I can’t select any of the room names on the bottom line, which I’m not bothered about but neither can I select the big green NEXT button, rendering the app totally pointless..Version: 4.1.40

Push Ads UnacceptableRecently this app as started sending advertisements out via push messages with no option to opt out other than turning off all notifications. So if you want important notifications like a filter needing to be replaced, but don’t want marketing messages about a new product… Well, You are out of luck. I believe this is against App Store policies as I thought apps had to provide a option to turn off such notifications. Until this is changed I can’t rate this app above 3 stars. Developers provide a option to disable marketing notifications while still allowing system alerts..Version: 3.1.8

Good but occasional heavy battery usageI use it with the scales and sometimes it causes the phone to heat up and use a lot of battery. Also it manually added some weights when I was setting up my weight goals that I did not ask for. Fortunately they could be deleted again. Looks good but some screens are a little fussy and over complicated..Version: 3.2.46

Worst app everDoesn’t work Doesn’t listen Has a mind of its own No manual controls App developers are useless.Version: 4.1.52

Great app, poor food searchI downloaded this app to use with the food scale. App design and functionality is great and works very well. However, the barcode food database is terrible and rarely finds common foods. Need to expand the barcode database greatly. Maybe add a user created one or at the very least allow me to search for foods that I have added after I scan one. If you scan the barcode and it cannot find the food, that app prompts you to add that food, however if you scan it again after adding the food, the app still does not find anything, at the very least allow me to scan items I have added manually..Version: 3.0.54

Is incredibly inaccurateSo I bought the fit scale to measure body fat to better track my progress, as I’m putting on muscle in addition to loosing weight so I don’t want to use weight as my basis. The scale measures weight just fine, but it/the app does not measure body fat anywhere close to correct. The scale put me at 60% body fat, which is incredibly obese. With my height and weight, I don’t even know how it came up with that number. I’ve had my body fat measured a few months ago, and it was around 30%, half that number. And I have only been loosing weight and gaining muscle since then. In addition, how the app determines healthy body fat percentage is incredibly inaccurate. My settings are set to female, however it states that 14-21% is excellent, 21-25% is standard, 25-32% is high and 32%+ is excessive. This is blatantly wrong for women. For men, sure. But my settings aren’t set to male. The excellent range the app suggests is actually unhealthy for women, for which the ideal range is 21-32%. So not only is the app in accurate, it’s blatantly spreading misinformation. I’m not bothering to give it two stars for the scale measuring weight correctly, cause the app contributed nothing to that..Version: 4.2.40

Accessibility Headaches!!!I’m writing this review in complete frustration!!! I have a Cosori smart oven and Etekcity food scale. I’ve been pleased with the products, and app was terrific for quite awhile, but the accessibility for blind consumers is going backwards. The accessibility used to be top notch and well integrated. As a blind individual, it’s refreshing when you can setup products and use right out of the box… no assistance needed. That’s thoughtful and inclusive design at work. My internet recently went offline and many things had to be setup again. Scale had no issues with setup, but the Weighing area has unlabeled links and buttons in most recent app update. It helps when voice over tells me I’ve chosen ounces, grams, etc. Scale is usable, but now tasks take more time and effort. Reconnecting Cosori smart oven was a nightmare… something that should’ve been quick and easy. Voice over isn’t reading the list of WiFi options to connect with, only after voice over is turned off/on. Entering longer passwords is a chore, because screen and connection process times out before you can finish. Finally completed after copying and pasting password. I appreciate how often this app is updated, but PLEASE test accessibility before releasing. Also consider your blind consumers when you change the placement of options in app. The search can be time consuming when you memorize app, only to have developer constantly move features and functions. Not fun times!!!.Version: 3.2.5

Frustrating, annoyingI purchased a scale. Every time that I use it with this app, a large pop up banner appears over the data. I cannot get it off, no matter how many time I click on the box to close it. There is no option to get the banner permanently off. It is frustrating that the app is so poorly designed. It may work but what use is it if you can’t see the results? After submitting this review, the app developer responded saying that the scale saves the data when off line and this problem is part to the save. This is incorrect. The pop up banner appears when connected. The scale data from offline is not recorded and is lost. So the scale must be connected to save any data and you need to exit the app and restart it to get past the obscuring banner..Version: 3.2.53

Sad sad sadLoved this humidifier and the app till one day everything stopped working and it says it won’t connect to the wifi. Not sure what happened but I’m sad.Version: 4.1.51

Not badThe APP has a good purpose and functions well. However in 2020, how hard is it really to make your APP multifunctional on iPhone and iPad, instead of having to zoom in on an iPad. This may not be important for your main demographic, but for some of us with disability issues who can only use iPads in landscape mode, how hard is it to make your APP compatible in this orientation and full screen on an iPad without having to zoom in..Version: 3.0.38

Looks good but keeps quitting on iPhoneI’ve installed this on my iPad and iPhone. On my iPhone 8, when I click on the device, after a few seconds the app shuts down. I reopen and it does the same. Tried removing and reinstalling but still doing it. Luckily it’s more stable on my M1 iPad..Version: 3.2.39

3 Stars as it doesn’t support iPad Landscape modeHi I just bought a Cosori Dual Blaze Air Fryer and am using your app with it. But on an iPad it only works in “Portrait” mode, which when you use an Apple Magic Keyboard it has to be in “Landscape” mode meaning your app is sideways. Can you please update your app to support “Landscape” orientation, that would make it much easier to add my own recipes, as I could type directly into the app. Many thanks..Version: 3.2.44

An extremely confused appThis is an example of an application written by a team with no focus. What should be a tool to manage a device only, is trying to be a store, a social media platform, and now a diet and health hub. ENOUGH! Those exist already, we don’t need another and those aspects only confuse the interface and purpose of the program. Focus and make this a tool to manage the devices and forget the rest. Please. I’m to the point I’m about to toss the app, and if I do I will see absolutely no reason to have your products, or to recommend them to others. Rip out the bloat, it’s wasted space..Version: 3.2.18

Ok before upgradeThe app was working fine but since a recent upgrade the scales only communicate the most recent data to my mobile. Previously, I could weigh myself every day and once a week transfer the data. Is it my scales (suddenly) or am I not doing something I should be with the app?.Version: 3.1.40

DO NOT UPDATESTILL WAITING FOR FIXES. The app does not work after the recent update. There is nothing worse than having something work and then not work. Very frustrating. Do not not not not update!!!!!!.Version: 4.2.40

Recent update has impaired function of the appI use the app for controlling my Levoit 300S humidifiers. Unfortunately, the most recent update of the app (which I use on my iPhone) is buggy and unresponsive. I use the humidifiers exclusively on manual, but the new version of the app now reverts the humidifiers to Auto whenever I turn the humidifiers back on. The previous version of the app retained my desired setting. Also, when setting a timer the app repeatedly gives a “timed out “ error. It takes several attempts to set the timer. I regret updating the app — the previous version wasn’t perfect, but it generally behaved itself. I hope the developers will fix these problems ASAP and release a version of the app that works consistently..Version: 3.2.6

Not impressedYou need to upgrade from VeSync fit to VeSync so I did. When I try to get to settings to change the date into dmy and the weights into stone and pounds, it crashes. As I said, less than impressive. Update: The more I use this app, the worse it gets. I managed to change the app to stones eventually. Now my wife is complaining that the scales read in kilos. Why change an app that works for one that so obviously has major problems? This needs fixing promptly..Version: 3.1.0

Doesn’t import to health appOriginal vesyncfit app sends my weight details to the health app on iPhone. Which was good as I like to see all my health data in one place. This new app doesn’t do that any more. So my phone has no way of giving me my weight/BMI info along with iwatch fitness info. Sad the old app is retiring. Will need to look for a different app or new scales now..Version: 4.0.21

Meal PlanOne thing I do not like is that there is absolutely no way to remove a meal plan. I have tried every which way to do it. The only thing i can do is remove it from my food log daily. But I cannot turn it off completely. I have emailed the company looking for assistance in getting it turned off, but have not gotten any response from them. I have deleted the device and re added it hoping it would give it a clean slate but even that doesn’t work. I also removed the app itself and re added. Still no luck. It’s extremely frustrating because the meal plan changes all my caloric and percentage goals. I want it gone! Maybe someone will read this review and reach out to me and help me get rid of it.Version: 3.2.20

Watch won’t connect …….The dots just spin, then times out. The Etekcity Fitness Scale is my only device on the app and works perfectly on the iPhone, just not on Apple Watch 7.Version: 4.1.70

New updateI absolutely LOVED this app... until today. The new update took away one of the best features: being able to set the scale to zero through the app. The new layout isn’t as user friendly and I don’t like that when you search for a food you’re weighing, you have to type in the whole name of what it is and then hit “search,” whereas before, you could start typing something and it would have a “predictive” drop down list of things you could be searching for. I also noticed that if you accidentally put your information into the wrong meal (i.e. you’re having a snack and forget to select “snack”), you aren’t able to just simply change it— you have to delete what you logged and then redo it all. This update was supposed to “fix” bugs, but I feel that it only created several more problems..Version: 3.0.2

Health data overlooked? While looking more thought out than the VeSync fit this replaces it does not appear to be updating health data or indeed have any settings for it. Which kinda makes the other uglier one better. Shame..Version: 3.1.26

Pas trop surNe garde pas le Bluetooth ça fonctionner au début par la suite elle cherche toujours et n’affiche pas.Version: 4.1.70
