✓ Rayark doesn’t disappoint!Improvement in almost every aspect. We’ll get to that almost later, but first, the mountain of good things. The story actually matters and is so good! I’m not usually a fan of mystery or who done it themes... this had me hooked. Granted, this isn’t the first game to use social media as a story tool. It’s just the best example of it done right I know of. The songs are fun, the art is spectacular, character designs are memorable, and dynamic scanner speed is a stroke of genius. The game as a whole is a delight. As for that almost... the number of songs is kinda light. In of itself, that’s not too bad, but it makes getting the next bit of story feel like a grind going through the songs a second time in this sitting. Changing characters combats this, but I still wish it didn’t even come up. On the bright side it’s something that can easily be addressed in an update and it didn’t keep me from enjoying myself. I’m more than happy with this game and can’t wait to see what the team does with it in the future. Please port to the switch and let me give you money..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Hitting notes says missedI’ve been playing the game for a while now and have enjoyed every bit of it. Recently I’ve purchased the Connor dlc and I’m enjoying the songs thoroughly and losing to them horribly despite the fact I think of myself as “good”. Unfortunately I’ll be playing songs particularly Light of Buenos Aires and I’ll be hitting streaks of notes and they all say I missed them when I’ve been very clearly hitting them. While I still love this game this is a inconvenience being I spent 10$ on this dlc. I didn’t want to write this review if the problem is my iPad Air 2 which I tested everything elsewhere and within the game. The rest of the characters such as Paff,Neko,and Robo Head aren’t having this issue I can not say for the other dlc being Conner is my first. I ask please fix this issue I would like to call myself more than “good” with the scores I’m getting from this bug..Version: 1.9.1

✓ Obsessed!I’m a Rayark fanatic, and am obsessed over gaming! I love this and it’s game play! I’m excited for the new upgrade announced in today livestream on yt! I really miss songs like freedom dive and holy knight but resurrection and the spark are pretty good too! Paff’s songs aren’t that good but Neko, Ivy, Robo_head and Miku are great! I bought the Miku pack and I would love to see more vocaloid characters like Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka and maybe some more miku songs like Ian Polkka and PoPiPo but apart from that it’s great! ✓ Amazing game but a bit confusingThis game is almost perfect but there is one tiny little detail that stopped it from being one of the best mobile games and that is the tutorial is hard to understand and the first level I played I couldn’t get high combos so if they maybe added a easier tutorial so you could understand all the elements of the game that would make it perfect..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Amazing Mobile Rhythm GameI’ve played many rhythm games, such as Geometry Dash, Deemo, Osu!, Rolling Sky, Dancing Line, and Arcaea (those are the good ones) and I have to say that Cytus II is an amazing challenging game. It’s like Osu but it has so much more unique features to it. The price for a dlc character is 5 times the price of the actual game which makes unlocking the whole game and story pretty expensive, but if you can see past the price then you have an amazing story (hopefully Rayark will add more in the future) and of course an amazing soundtrack from dubstep to electronic to pop. As for the gameplay itself, it can get really difficult but that’s what makes it more rewarding when you beat a really hard level. Definitely a mush have game for competitive rhythm game players. It is obviously a 5/5 if you have everything unlocked..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Pretty Good!I've had Cytus for over a year now and finally purchased Cytus II to see if it was any good. Overall, the app does not disappoint! It works smoothly and the graphics are amazing. The levels are slightly more challenging with the addition of new notes. However, there is NOT enough content at all! For £1.99, I'd expect more free songs. The first Cytus has 130 free songs to play, for the same price. If you're thinking of buying one of these games, I'd definitely buy the first Cytus! You have much more to play. Cytus II only has 54 free songs for comparison. To buy more, it'll cost you £4.99 or even £9.99 a song pack! A bit of a ripoff if you ask me. The game is new though, so hopefully more songs will be added in future updates. On the whole, a great game. I'd definitely recommend the first version of Cytus though..Version: 1.5.0

✓ Beautiful visuals and intriguing storytellingCytus II is a beautifully made rhythm game with great art and songs and the idea of narrating the story though posts is unique and fitting with the futuristic theme. Each character having their personalities shown from the way they write to the music they make is a great idea. All in all I really like the game, the only problem that I have is with how expensive are the additional characters/songs. 20£ for both the characters for such little content is insane..Version: 1.0.2
✓ I love this game..but there’s 1 issueI have all the dlc’s and I score relatively high on chaos and I’m in love with the story, but can you please increase the xp gain for chaos levels? It’s really tedious having to play easy and chaos levels that pose absolutely no challenge for the sake of continuing the story ! You really feel the tediousness in Xenon and Paffs chapters. ✓ Love the game but developers please readThis game is the best music games that I have played on mobile for a substantial amount of time. But the fact that I tap on a note on time and the game classifies it as a miss absolutely infuriates me every time as I've tried 20 times on Power stomper hard but failing due to a tap not registered. Does happen on other songs rarely though. Could you please bring out a optimisation or low power mode in settings that would focus more processing power on tap registration than the beautiful graphics. Just a quality of life change would really help as this game is extraordinary but tap registration if you going for perfectionist can be difficult ruining a 2 min run then missing a note. ✓ Wow. Rayark, please read this.I stumbled across this masterpiece of a game accidentally around the time of its release while looking for a way to occupy over twenty hours of flight time. I must admit that I IMMEDIATELY loved it and was impressed. Two years later, and I do not say this with the intention of flattery or exaggeration, I firmly hold that this is the best game ever made for the mobile platform. This game has continued to provide a joyful and challenging experience that has not seemed to fade over time. However, it is only after playing songs from the newly released characters ‘Sagar’ and ‘Rin’ that I am moved to write a review. You have created such an incredible experience with Cytus from the mechanics, to the story, to, ESPECIALLY, the music library that has been curated. With these two characters specifically, you have expanded into not only different styles, but into completely new instruments and genres of music from different cultures, and that is a beautiful thing. Music is a universal language. Please do not stop creating, curating, and expanding the musical exposure you are providing for your players. ✓ Probably the best rhythm game.I dabbled in a few rhythm games and none really hooked me. I can’t seem to put this one down and the integrated story elements make it completely immersive. You start to care and identify with the in-game “artists”. The music is great quality with plenty of polish. The natural progression allows you to learn and grow in confidence with the beat mechanics so you can net those Million Master badges. My only somewhat complaint is the cost of the DLC is about 5-10 a pop. So, you could easily drop AAA prices on this free mobile title if you want the whole experience. It would be nice to have links to the music straight to Apple Music or Google Play. I’d add several of the songs to my library, and have. I hope to see more collaboration packs and to eventually play as ÆSIR themselves..Version: 2.3.9

✓ My C2 ReviewSo I bought the highly anticipated sequel to that rhythm game I always keep spamming on my wall and I got to say that it’s one of the best rhythm games I ever played with the presentation, story, characters and of course the music. It’s awesome that the music repertoire has expanded as it now features many other music by a Western artists (with UK Happy Hardcore and pop music with Western elements). And it’s also awesome that the story and the characters are fleshed out in contrast to predecessor game in which the story is not as straight-forward. The gameplay is similar to Cytus One but with the addition of the new Chaos difficulty as well as swipe notes and another kind of hold notes. Plus, the scan line changes speed depending on the current tempo of the song. My only criticisms towards the game is the micro transactions as the game begs me to pay 15 dollarydoos to play top quality rock and artcore music. But nevertheless, the fast paced dynamic action of the game along with the music has enticed me to play more as well as give me inspiration for my musical journey and finally ignore society (lulz). ✓ Simply an incredible gameI am a huge fan of Rayark games, especially all their rhythm games. I’ve tried many, and I say many, different rhythm games, and I always come back to something from Rayark. And I’am happy to say that Cytus 2 lives up to the expectations. The most outstanding feature of this compared to all other similar games (including other Rayark games) is the story telling. I’ve never seen something like that before, and I like really enjoyed it. I’ve seen some reviews say the game can lag and can be seen as pixelated on the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, but from my experience, I’ve seen none of that (I have the 2017 edition); it works great, and it looks even better. One thing I have to point out though, and this is to all other Rayark games as well but especially this one; the DLC is simply way to expensive! $15 dollars? I doubt many people would be happy to pull that out of their wallets. People aren’t willing to pay that much price for a mobile game, not yet anyway..Version: 1.2.0

✓ WowsieI love this game so gd much. It might be because I’m good a rhythm games, but either way it’s an amazingly fun game to play. It’s a little confusing a first considering how you have to go into story mode to unlock difficulties of a certain song, and I would at least make it more clear to the player on how to access the story mode. Other than that it’s a very challenging game that keeps you on your toes, which is surprising to me because most rhythm games out there are very dull when it comes to gameplay. By that I mean in other games your really only touching buttons, but with this game you have to swipe stuff , hold down buttons, multitask, and keep track of where your fingers are supposed to be at all times. ✓ Must Get for Rhythm GamersI will always sing Rayark’s praises when games like this come up- the music is always great and the gameplay feels extremely smooth and satisfying. There’s not much to say that hasn’t been set yet about Cytus II, but aside from my 5 star rating there is one issue that could be solved possibly(?) Unlike VOEZ, there is no account linking that can track your progress and purchases between devices, which can become a real deterrent to people wishing to switch devices or that are having other issues. The DLC is pricey, but worth it especially when sales go on, and it would be much more convenient to have an account you could attach your purchases to instead of buying again if you switch devices. Other than that, the game’s free content and story is super enjoyable on its own, so don’t let anything scare you; just be wary if you wish to buy..Version: 3.4.5

✓ I love this game so much! But...This is probably one of the best mobile games I’ve ever played. Most mobile games I download I end up forgetting about very quickly, but with this it seems as though I can play it whenever and never forget it’s there. The story line quickly caught my attention and i feel attached to these characters in the game. I want to play more of it, but these other characters that I want to play so bad are $9.99.. I just don’t understand why so much? When I paid for the game which includes 3 characters, 35 songs, and story line for $1.99, why are these one’s so much more? Seeing how awesome this game is I would be willing to pay for the extra characters and more story but that does kind of push the limits of spending on a mobile game. ✓ I don’t get capso...Well theres this capso system and although its there for some sort of gacha system, i really find it a waste of effort to put into. I can play several levels and gain a ton of capso and yet not use it at all. Im just in a fix where the game limits playability for new beginners. Despite its overly DLC heavy content i do find its compelling storytelling and immersive content very worthwhile. Hours and hours on end can a person play this. ✓ Great game... my previously purchased song packs gone with 2.1—urgent— it appears that 2.1 has a bug which will not register the songs which were part of previously purchased BM song packs into their respective chapters. It still shows the packs as purchased, and the game will register songs from packs which are purchased after updating to 2.1. —actual review— This has to be my favorite rhythm game on iOS (and I’ve played many). The most startling thing about it is how they managed to pull off the story-we can all agree I’m sure that most rhythm games with a storyline have a pretty crappy story. This one, however, like other games from Rayark, has a captivating (albeit complicated) storyline, regardless of the fact that it’s genre isn’t the easiest to create a storyline for. Aside from that, the gameplay is great as well. I get much less lag from this game than others. The visuals are also beautiful. Though I will say this about the charting: in general it’s pretty good, but the 2 new song packs in 2.1 each have a level “15” chart which plays like a fan made chart. ✓ Great lore and gameplayThis is by far one of the most interesting mobile games i’ve gotten to play. There’s really great lore and lots of stuff to uncover, as well as i love the rythm game part of it. It’s amazing how it’s free and one of my favourite parts is that there’s no ads! The unlockable characters may seem expensive, but taking into consideration that lots of the game is already free and how much effort it takes to create a whole new character with their own music accompanied by the rythm game and more, as well as i usually find there’s some sort of sale, it’s really worth it. I’ve been playing this for well over a year and i’ve never lost interest, especially since new stuff gets thrown in after each bit of playing and sometimes new things are added, like new characters..Version: 3.5.1

✓ Incredible So Far!Although the game can be a little rough around the edges (which is to be expected right after release), it is highly enjoyable! The navigation and gameplay is easy to pick up, and the artwork and music is stunning! The plot I found well paced, and the levelling up didn't feel tedious. The story is so much more exciting than I expected, and it's more plot driven than their games (including Deemo!). You really feel part of the world through the layout of the story and involvement with all of the characters. One issue I've had is that grouped mode doesn't function (although I don't know if others have this problem), but most people use the default note options anyway, which has no issues. ✓ The In-app purchases are NOT over pricedThe only real criticism I’ve seen is the price of the extra characters which is not well justified. For starters you pay $2.99 for the game which includes 30 songs, already they are giving you value for your money. The initial price is low enough for more newcomers to try the game out and the extra content never feels overpriced with the excellent quality of each song. Comparatively, you can spend $15 to speed up your progress by a couple of days in the majority of mobile games or spend it here for songs by 10 different artists that are well crafted and could keep you entertained for months..Version: 1.0.1
✓ OutstandingI have never written a review before but this game deserves one. It’s absolutely incredible and truly one of the finest games I have ever played. The core gameplay is engaging with a perfect difficulty curve. The more you play the more your skill inches up higher and higher and there’s always another chart that was juuuuust out of reach that you can finally now full-complete (MM). The story (yes! Story!) is fantastic, full of engaging characters, deep world-building, complex themes, and unique non-traditional storytelling methods. The cutscenes are rare but are always top-notch quality when they appears. And finally, THE MUSIC. Rhythm games live or die on their music and Cytus II thrives on a *stellar* soundtrack. There’s something here for everyone and nearly every song is worthy of headphones time on it’s own even separated from gameplay. Rayark has curated an incredible collection of songs from a wide swath of genres that you will want to play again and again. This game is a masterpiece. ✓ Beyond human comprehensionOne of the best art and narratively well done game I’ve seen in a millennia. This game is one of those games you geek out about with your friends. It’s strange to say that about a app game considering most app games suffer from HUGE glitching, Ads, graphic drops. And other similar problems. But this game transcends those problems effortlessly.... honestly it makes other app games look bad. The only gripe I have (not really) is the money to purchase other characters. Which in reality each character is like a entire dlc pack and a whole new learning experience. Not to mention the creators perfectly crafted the best rhythm game for IOS by a long shot without any ad pop ups. ✓ The storyline!It’s taken me a bit longer than expected to finish the game (not 100%, that’s on myself) and I believe it’s incredible. As I was playing I believed it to be a fun short game and that’s when I got hit with the storyline (I’m not going to spoil it too much for those who haven’t played it, I do suggest getting to the end and reading some of the messages) my mind was blown by how much effort was put into making it look like it was real (and I don’t mean the art style, I’ll get to that later) to an extent. The art style was amazing, I’ll admit I love Japanese anime. ✓ Amazing Game!Wow, this game is simply breathtaking and amazing. With the hundreds of sing charts and different levels of difficultly. The game turly is a masterpiece that should be cherished. Also, the different characters and story parts involved are really well thought through. But... I do have to share that the dlcs and song packs are on the expensive side of the spectrum, but they are totally worth it!! With the exclusive story lines and amazing music they hold. One final thing I would like to adress, is in multiple songs I have discovered, only recently, that if I hold a long note or a slide note, the game will cut off the note ruining the streak and only making it a "Good Note." This bug brothers me extremely so as it ruins the experience of the song and makes it extremely annoying Otherwise this is a amazing one of a kind rythem game that I will continue to enjoy. ✓ This Game Is Incredible and Worth All The MoneyThis is possibly the best game on the App Store. It’s so beautifully crafted in all aspects. Gameplay is super smooth, and the maps are a ton of fun and so satisfying to hit. The story is brilliantly told through its various POV’s and has several shocking and creative storytelling parts that are incredibly immersive. The developers have clearly poured their heart and soul into this game because everything about it is just so well polished. I got the game when it came out and have been following it, rabidly consuming any and every update as soon as it came out. The story is so compelling. It’s also great how considerate they’ve been about their DLC’s because they’re not essential to the story (except maybe for ConnoR) but do add a lot and are rewarding if/when you do buy them. The singular complaint I have is a bug with the Tap FX when using my headphones (Bose QC 35’s 1). The FX are delayed for some reason and it’s actually a huge problem that causes them to sound off. It’s something Rayark should look into. But aside from that, I honestly can’t recommend this game enough!!!.Version: 2.8.5

✓ Update 2.0 ReviewI’m not one for writing reviews, but I feel that the new 2.0 update will serve as an exception. To be straightforward, the new update is nothing short of phenomenal! The update brings an array of songs that are composed and produced by a group of amazing artists. Additionally, the integration of melodies reminiscent of the original Cytus was also a welcome surprise. Not to mention, the new charts and their notes have been excellently crafted to help maintain a fun, but still fair experience. (Also, the new character is super adorable x3 !!!) ✓ 5 Star performanceI’ll give this game 5 stars, that’s easy, there is nothing wrong with this game, it’s an absolutely incredible music game, and fixes any issues I had with the first. And I can’t even call them issues, while I was playing the first masterpiece I thought to myself, wow I wish this had an “rpg like” progression. Or I wish it had more of a story. Never took away from the amazing base gameplay, yet here we are with #2. Who literally took everything I wanted from the first, and added it. Truly an amazing game. ✓ AmazingSo far I enjoy the variety of backgrounds more from the first Cytus but overall this game is amazing. It deals with some of the oddities of the original Cytus in creative ways. The really fast moving reaction bar prevents me from not seeing the notes that would appear under my thumb/fingers (depending how I'm playing). You can also tell that Rayark has used lessons they've learned from Deemo and VOEZ when it comes to mapping the notes and adding variety. The maps feel more natural than in the original as well. I'm enjoying the story so far. I'm not done with it yet although I'm not sure if this a sequel or prequel at this point. Idk when I'll buy the other characters but it really does seem like it would be worth it. Can we get the million downloads challenge again ;) ? Edit: you unlock more levels as you play, it's not 9.99 for 3 songs. I'm pretty sure they'll be adding songs to each character too as time goes on so I'm sure the initial purchase of 9.99 for 10-11 songs will gain value when more songs are added. Feeling the accomplishment of “Million Master”-ing is a delightful gameplay loop for each and every track. ✓ Major bug affecting me from progressing (still good tho)After all my characters are Lv10 (no dlc characters), a new message appears on the forum with the screen glitching out intentionally. Every time I tap on it, it crashes and the only way to get new songs is going through new posts. If I can't go to see the new posts because of crashes, I can't unlock new songs to progress. ✓ It’s an improvementThis is better then the first game in most senses to start with there is the music, using different characters for each genre is a great idea and a lot of the music is way more catchy then the first one even if there are less music the music they do have are effective the only problem I have is with the dlc 9.99£ for one pack is to expensive and there are some times when I was playing the game where it froze a for a couple of seconds and the song still continued. ✓ PHENOMENAL, INCREDIBLECyTus II is a wonder of rhythm games. Right from the beginning it drew me in, offering a massive range of songs and difficulties for FREE. However, they had a ridiculous amount of DLC locked behind huge price tags and many complained. However, RayArk did what no one has done before, and RESPONDED. They added in V3.0 a new character, Vanessa, and in it added one character in the style of each of the DLC characters. ✓ Undoubtably the best mobile game I've ever playedI don't think there's much more to say. The story is very satisfying and progresses well with the game. The game itself grants a lot of freedom, allowing players to pick their difficulty. This lets newer players get better until they can take on Hard or Chaos. Chaos mode seems to lead to endless entertainment as you challenge the full difficulty of each song. There's also expansion packs (pretty expensive, but for a good game, the company has to make money) . The game isn't pay to win like many free games are today, and it's not bombarded with ads, another far too common feature of free games today. The story is also very original and how it is presented is also unique, and the creators continue to add content and deliver care to the game. Overall, I really can't say there's anything wrong with this game (perhaps some people may think it's too hard, or it might not be their style, but that's not really the game's fault, and there's an easy mode) ..Version: 2.1.1

✓ Great gameI normally don’t leave reviews, especially for games, but I had to leave one for this. I haven’t played the first Cytus game but I got this one for the Miku update. As a huge Hatsune Miku fan, I was very curious to see how they would incorporate her into this. I was pleasantly surprised with how they portrayed Miku and how their original story grabbed my attention and kept me wanting to know more. As for the other characters, I love how everyone’s story connects in some way. The characters are all interesting and unique and the songs for each of them are very fun to play and listen to. I also enjoy reading the Twitter-like social media posts and how everyone interacts with each other. The rhythm game aspect of this is something I’m genuinely impressed with. Some games you have to build teams with special characteristics or get special items that save you from having an offbeat note deducted from a full combo, and I don’t especially care for that. In this game, if you miss, you miss. And it makes me want to get better at the more difficult levels to improve my skill and timing rather than spend money on things that will save my offbeat notes for the sake of a full combo. ✓ It Exists!!Well... Cytus II is out now and it looks amazing. The gameplay has changed a little bit with the addition of a few mechanics and navigation has changed a whole lot as well. Albums have been replaced with characters and there’s a few new areas that help with the story I guess? It’s focused more at being a social network in contrast to the original Cytus’s storyline. Graphics have improved and songs have a new feel to them which is expected. The characters have a levelling mechanic that I have mixed feelings about. Levelling up each character allows you to do more things related to that character (e.g play harder difficulties, etc). ALSO THE IN-APP PURCHASES ARE OVERPRICED AS HELL!! It might be related to their content, but I don’t understand why the new characters can’t go for the standard $5 or $6 that the albums in Deemo or Cytus go for. Maybe if the prices can’t be lowered to those levels then maybe bring it down to $10? I guess I can’t really give a good review since the game hasn’t been out a long time but just from my first impressions I think I can give it a high rating of 4 stars. ✓ AestheticThis game is absolutely amazing! The gameplay, the story, and the music are all well-made and enjoyable. The design of the game fits to its theme. The story is about a world with virtual internet called CyTus and musicians that live in that world. They socialize with their fans and share their news on iM, a form of SNS. A system called OS shows each of the musicians’ story. Although Cytus2 is a rhythm game, it’s heavily based on story. There are characters and their songs, some free and some pay-walled. You process by playing songs and raising levels, which unlocks the main story and some additional stories of each characters. The DLC pack is pay-walled for people wanting to know more about characters’ back story and play their songs. Personally, I value songs in a rhythm game more than anything else. There are a lot of free songs to choose from, and from what I’ve played, there are almost too many good songs. If you are planning on downloading it, I suggest Fight Another Day by PAFF and Pure Powerstomper in ROBO_Head. I suggest buying CAPSO, Alice, and Hans if you fall in love with the game. They were the most worth it for me. Buying other DLC characters depend on the music you prefer. To sum it up, I just want to say that this game is worth every penny you could spend on. ✓ One of the best rhythm games out there!I was a huge fan of Deemo, the storyline and the songs were beautiful, but I liked Cytus I less because the beat you’re supposed to hit always seemed a bit “off”, which made it pretty difficult for me to play the game. Also, the game interface was very distracting in Cytus I and sometimes it was hard to tell which beat comes first. These problems were solved in Cytus II! Not only that, the songs are actually much more diverse in genre and higher in quality in my opinion. IF YOU LIKE ROCK OR METAL, YOU HAVE TO BUY THE XENON CHARACTER. I was pleasantly surprised by the metal and rock songs included in this collection, and while 10 dollars sounds like a lot to pay for a few songs, I don’t regret it at all. As for the story in the game, I haven’t gotten that far yet and everything seems a bit confusing. ✓ Amazing game but lost progressI MM all the easy songs and deleted the game since I was moving to a new iPhone. I used the same iCloud and my data didn’t come back, but it did come back for the original Cytus. I look in the iCloud setting and there is no option to save Cytus two on it, but there is an option to save the original Cytus. ✓ AmazingIf you liked cytus you'll like cytus 2. It's got tons of good music, fun charts, 3 difficulties instead of cytus' 2, and a clear storyline. The way the notes are color coded is very helpful once you get used to it. Except that the hold note when the scan line is going up is incredibly similar to the drag notes when the scan line is going down which does confuse me sometimes, especially on chaos difficulty. The only downsides to this game is that there's not nearly as many songs as the first cytus had, it's a little annoying to have the chaos difficulty for songs locked behind level ups, and (this is a more a personal problem with the game) that it isn't available for iOS 8.0 because I very much dislike playing on my phones much smaller screen when my older iPad was so much more fun to play cytus on..Version: 1.0.1

The quality of songs is pretty high and the genre is diverse to cater quite different tastes. In addition, there is an interesting story with quite some depth. The base game is a steal at £2 with about 80 songs. The paid song packs are priced at £10 each with about 10 to 14 songs. Every pack has different genre like heavy metal, classical, jazz, etc. At first sight they are overpriced. But compared to most other mobile games with loot boxes, £10 for a dozen high quality items of your chosen flavour is great value. ✓ I’m not disappointed.Just what I expected from Rayark. I loved the original cytus, and when I heard a sequel was coming, I was half excited and half worried. As much as I loved the first one, I didn’t want to set the expectations too high and hype myself. However, Rayark succeeded to make this second one a masterpiece, by keeping the basic and the most important keypoints of the first one in gameplay, while adding some modern touches, such as simple yet awesome interface designs, new note designs, interesting storytelling, and so on. The only reason I’m not giving the game a perfect score is because the new note designs contain too much particles and blinking lights, and frame drops happen in an old phone, like my iphone 6+. This is actually very distracting, and I would like it if the developers will add some performance options, like less particles or downgrading the whole graphic during gameplay. Or returning the old designs, Idk. Anything that will boost the frame rates in-game. Rather than that, I’m digging it. One thing to note, though, that the Cytus I style notes are hard to read in the dim background, especially the connecting lines in the chain (i.e. the drag notes). Therefore even though it is thrilled for me to unlock the Cytus I style note, it is very hard to enjoy it in the gameplay. Maybe the background could be a little brighter when we choose the Cytus I note? Then we don't need to struggle distinguishing different kind of notes (like drag v.s. click). ✓ Cytus 2 is fantasticThis game is just amazing, so excellent that I’m writing one paragraph on how good it is. I won’t spoil too much, but in general the game uses characters as categories of play or difficulty. When you start off playing with the first character, it teaches you how it looks like and slowly increases the difficulty to suit your pace. Once you get sick of playing lower levelled songs, you can change characters to get new songs and new challenges. ✓ Compelling rhythm game with storyThis game legit so good it has made me actually want to leave a review. the rhythm mechanics are really spot one—really solid, especially in the escalation of difficulty between easy, hard and chaos. it never just gives you more notes at a faster tempo. it actually changes the way you have to approach the different difficulties. The music itself is fantastic. Even the songs I don’t enjoy as much are still mostly fun to play. the progression of songs is mostly okay. though i wish every level would unlock new songs, the speed at which they do unlock is still pretty engaging. so far the story hits all the right beats too. just enough mystery and suspense to keep you wanting more. the one thing that is a little lacking is that the im system doesnt really make you engage with the story. i started enjoying the game a lot more after i consciously decided to read the messages instead of just clicking and leaving.Version: 4.1.0

✓ Amazing gameThis game is just amazing. First of all, I think that the fact that the notes don’t move and it’s a line that moves instead is great, I personally prefer it to all other alternative. Second, the game have a LOT of content even if there’s a lot you need to buy, the amount of free songs and characters is amazing. Third the story is great and you can learn more with the characters you need to buy, but hey, that’s not obligatory to understand the story. Also the animation/art is just awesome in terms of quality. In general I love the game and definitely is one of my two favourite mobile game. ✓ Plz read!!Ive gotten this game 2 days ago, and its my new favorite game, however... (as others wrote) Cytus only gives you 3 free chapters with at least 10 songs each. The songs are amazing, PAFF is my favored artist. But due to the limited amount of songs, I think this game needs a “make your own beat” from songs you purchased. Yes, that sounds crazy but I think people would be more attracted to the game and spend more time and money on it. Because I’m not spending 10$ on one artist with 10 songs, no. After awhile from practicing the same 30 songs over and over, it gets old. I came to write this review because I wanted a “make your own beat” kind of app, but couldn’t find anything, so I think by adding a feature similar to this game would bring more “originality.” Other wise, the game is outstanding and the sound affects are out of this world..Version: 1.6.0
✓ Great game, pricey DLCsI quite enjoy playing this game, definitely one of my favorite rhythm games to play. However, it is quite expensive to buy all the seven (7) DLCs. It'll add up to $70+ which is a lot, even though this game is beautiful and wonderfully made. It would be nice if there was a way to buy all the characters together for less instead of paying $10 each. Perhaps give the $10 (or less) option for buying the characters separately, and a cheaper option to buy them all together. Though, with what you get I'd say it's worth $2. You get a good pack of songs from four (4) characters, and three (3) different gameplay levels of easy, hard, and chaos. I enjoy playing the songs, even though chaos can get quite difficult at times. Tip: Use all your fingers if you're playing on chaos, or a difficult hard level. I was playing only with my thumbs but didn't understand how playing chaos was even possible until I watched a video where the player laid the iPad on a table and played using all their fingers. ✓ I adore the storyA very well-written story and characters set Cytus 2 above other rhythm games (at least to me) Polish is typical of Rayark, but this time the fictional world and assigning genres to each character gives off strong personality. The drip-fed story is a real motivator to play, as opposed to other games lacking it. DLC is on sale for ~£3 every now and again. ✓ Been playing for a month! Amazing!The story in this game is amazing for what you can get for free! The characters are really diverse and have great backstories and the inclusion of a sort of social media aspect to this story makes it better. Some people might think, “Oh, the dlc is $10 each plus song packs. Too much!” Don’t worry, I’ve been here a month and saw two characters go on sale half off and the entire song pack market went on sale for about 40% off all packs. They have sales up a lot and you can end up spending $30 over time for the characters instead of $60. The dlc isn’t even needed though. It’s all awesome filler, and if you have the money, get it! ✓ Highly enjoyableEasily one of the more impressive rhythm apps on the store. Got this free in lockdown and I'm loving the Neko music segments and social media style story progression. There's plenty of songs to play and unlock for various styles, and they recently added another free character with a bunch of songs. Each song also comes in three variations: Easy, Hard and Expert... which is insanely difficult, but definitely doable with practice. There are also glitch songs, which add a new experience to the gameplay by... glitching the rhythm. However, its dlc is on the pricy side - £9.99 per new character, which comes with 10 new songs. It's not something I'd invest in personally when you could but a full quality indy game at that price. E.g. Fez, Bastion and Limbo. Still, it's song quality, animation style, attention to detail, fun factor and in-app interface are expertly crafted. ✓ Exceeds ExpectationsRayark does it again with this amazing sequel to the music game sensation that is Cytus. The music selection is on par with if not better than the original, albeit a bit smaller. The story, should one decide to actually follow it, is interestingly told in a social media-type fashion. Increasing a character's level will unlock new songs, and the Chaos difficulty level is absolutely ridiculous for even the easier songs. The one issue that I have is with the fps. The more notes you have on screen, the more particle effects there are. This leads to sever fps drops that can affect gameplay, especially for perfectionists that attempt to get 100% TP or even just a million mastery. My suggestion would be to include a setting that either reverts the notes to the classic Cytus style or a setting to remove the particle effects. Otherwise, I am definitely not disappointed. The songs are very fun, it has an actual storyline, the art is great, the gameplay is very challenging but not so much to make someone hay the game, and the option to choose between three difficulties is nice as well. I do have one problem though: THE PAUSE BUTTON. There have been so many times that I need to pause it because of volume, someone talking to me, et cetera. Instead of just tapping it once, you need to DOUBLE TAP it. Along with the fact that the button is pretty small, it makes it very hard to pause without missing or at least getting a “good”. ✓ Beautiful game <3 tiny issuesThis game is sooo well designed and you can see the care and quality put into this- thank you!! I love how they world build and story-tell- it’s unique. I didn’t play the first cytus since the game graphics didn’t really appeal to me- but this one is just amazing! I played voez, Deemo, and dynamix before getting into this game- The only complaints I have are that the prices can be a bit high at times but it’s pretty worth- I immediately bought the miku pack but it didn’t disappoint~ I like how they included sales which definitely helps with costs- the only real issue is with the pause button in game.. I get the double tap is supposed to prevent misclicking the pause when you’re actually playing, but it really should just need the one tap- too many times I’ll play and I need to pause but it ends up ruining my score..(at least make it a setting?) The game is fun and great and harkens to a time when rhythm games were all the rage. Seriously, I miss DDR! But this is like DDR for your hands and let’s be real, we mashed the controller buttons then, too. If I could make an improvement, it would be to how the screen looks after the game is unpaused. I often forget to turn off notifications so naturally, everyone decides to text me when I’m playing. The message appears on screen and of course, I tap it and the game pauses to load my messages. Well, for many rounds where the bar moves quickly, I forget which direction the bar is going so after I unpause the game, it would be helpful for it to have arrows pointing or up/down words in the direction the bar is moving. ✓ A must for any music fan!I discovered this game a few years back when I was using an older iPad. I had played Guitar Hero a few times (and I play guitar) but that series grew stale and lost its edge before going by the wayside. This does not involve a guitar, but this way more than scratches that Guitar Hero itch. This contains more genres that you can shake a stick at and plenty of well-written compositions. Each character represents an entire music genre! My favorite is Xenon, of course, because his songs involve shred guitar. If you buy the other characters and songs it gets really expensive real quick, but each dlc adds an entirely new dimension to the already vast musical library and adds to an immersive story. Sometimes when i try to place those notes that you need to hold it for a long time, the game stops responding to me holding the button and then it counts as a bad or good even though I put my finger in place like they told me. Same for the sliding notes, the game stops responding to my tracing midway and i get a lot of misses for that (but it could be just this game demands more accurate sliding compared to the first game). ✓ Cytus 2 is GROWTHEverything about this game is great, and is a continuation of what made the first Cytus an unforgettable gaming rhythmic experience. Each song has a new difficulty scale that caters to the gaming preferences of everyone with the new Chaos difficulty, which with the new choices makes every song easy for the newcomers or intense for those who want to have that challenge with their musical enjoyment. Also, there are the diversity of lyrics in some songs with a mix of English, Japanese or only an instrumental, yet with each character gives an approach of the genre of music that will be introduced. The dlc packs are honestly just as good if not arguably better. My only criticisms to consider is the dlc is unnecessarily expensive (I usually buy a dlc character per pay check since I work), plus the fact that the dlc characters are needed for those who like the story. ✓ Quit abusing meCytus 1 was a legendary game, and so far, cytus 2 is just about living up to it. The music and artwork are awesome and beautiful, and the story is always keeping me hooked. I think the smaller amount you pay for this game initially is a fair price if not a steal for the three characters you receive with the game, and it is worth it to buy cytus 2. However... What i don’t like: RELEASING AN UNFINISHED GAME! Why do game studios think this is acceptable now?! The game hardly even feels halfway done with the latest update, I’d much rather just play the game all at once than wait on updates like it’s an anime or something. And the three characters you have no choice but to buy. This is a filthy thing to do on part of rayark, the game itself with 3 characters is just $2, but to get the other 3 characters you will have to pay $30. I don’t know if rayark wasn’t making profit on just the app sales itself, and that it is mainly relying on the dlc sales, but it feels simply dirty to have half the content locked behind a $30 paywall. ✓ Best rhythm game to date 🎆I don’t really like writing reviews, but this game is truly a masterpiece. I have all the characters, including Sagar and Rin and I love it. The story is so captivating and interesting, and I love how some of the songs follow along with the story (Nora and Crystal Punk are good examples). The songs are super catchy and good, mostly because I am a speedcore: indie kinda person. And T+Pazolite, ICE, 3R2, James Landino and Team Grimiore’s music never disappoints! I think the only thing I somewhat dislike about the game is the song list for PAFF, because her songs are a little slow. But that’s just me since I’m used to fast paced songs! The game play is unique and the difficulty leveling is fair and gives the player a real chance. ✓ Large update time!Having played through everything that this update has to offer, I can say without hesitation that this update was the absolute best one so far. With Rayark seeming a little sketchy with their IAP’s recently, I was expecting a new chapter or two, with one being free for such a big update, and the other being DLC. This is not the case, with only one character being added for the amazingly low price of free! The new songs in this update are also not solely contained to the new character as well, and Cytus 1 players should be familiar with some of these new tracks. The story also has continued on and is worth what it is, for those that want to be invested. Overall, I’m very content with this update and hope that there are more like it in the future. ✓ BeautifulThis game is just so good. It works so seamless if you have the right device of course. I loved what they did with the game - forcing players to try all kinds of difficulties and characters to progress for more songs and storyline. I do feel that the characters are a bit tad expensive, $10 I feel like would be an acceptable price for me. Nevertheless, this game is worth and glorious. ....Hope you could add more stuff....Haven’t really solved the mystery behind the story yet. Either that or I’m dumb..Version: 1.1.0
✓ Unable to play the gameBefore I get into the issue, I just want to clarify that I'm a huge fan of Rayark; I've played most, if not all, of their games and enjoyed all of them over many other competitors. I am not willing on giving them a bad rating due to this (hopefully) temporary bug. I'm experiencing a bug where I cannot play Cytus II because the initial notification prompt crashes my game and causes a loop to where I can't get passed the first screen. I have tried to delete and redownload the game and spent two hours trying to figure out ways to fix it but with no success. I hope this bug is fixable because I was looking forward to playing this. Any response or investigation on this issue is appreciated. I appreciate your work, hope to get any sort of response..Version: 1.0.1
