✓ ExpensiveThe cost of each chapter is way too expensive and the free going given is nothing. The book are good thou most of the stories are similar to each other and quite boring..Version: 7.0.0
✓ Scam AppI think this app is a scam. The book descriptions on the TikTok ads do not match the actual books. The books read like a misogynistic non-English speaking AI wrote them. There was physical and emotional abuse and a lot of non-consensual acts by the male protagonist in the ROMANCE book I was reading, but all written out in disjointed and broken English. AND you have to pay like $5 to unlock and read EACH chapter after around chapter 25. I tried to finish the book just to learn what happens but I was unable to actually do so because all the chapters were blocked by a paywall. The app itself is also not reader friendly - you can’t see where you are in the book (you only get in accurate chapter progress) and there’s too much going on on the page. You’ll end up accidentally highlighting everything while trying to read. The volume button page swipe setting also does not work. DO NOT BUY THIS APP!.Version: 5.9.9
✓ Tooo expensive chapters and makes difficult for customers to contact themThe app charges a lot of money if you want to finish reading a book. It starts free and after few chapter you have to use coins to buy chapters some start at 20 coins them they just add up as they want. Once you start to pay for coins the chapters cost even higher. I recently spent over £200 buying coins because it offer bulks which makes you think you will be able to read all the book but them it only allow to read few chapters. Recently I bought a package costing $20 dollars for 2000 coins plus 1400 free coins and all that I was able to read was 3 chapters and all the coin disappeared. I tried to contact them many times but unsuccessful. I made a complaint on MoboReader complaint board about 3 weeks ago and so far haven’t heard anything from them. So disappointed and frustrated because there are some good stories to read but it is ridiculous how they treat the customer and the amount of money they expect you to pay to read a book. Don’t bother about uploading the app and if you see a good story that you can only read there forget about unless you are willing to pay a huge amount of money to read it. ✓ Biggest mistake of the year*** All these 5 star reviews are probably paid to leave them***** I completed the first few chapters at the free rate. Then decided to sign up for the subscription to keep reading. Turns out the daily credit is only applied after you log in for 30 days. Not a credit every day. Piece of junk Will not be purchasing any new credits as you pay 20-30 coins for a “chapter” that is only 4-5 paragraphs. Ended up spending almost $200 to read a single book and it still hasn’t come close to finishing. The authors spend a few chapters getting you hooked and then start piling in the fluff. **** This is hands down the most expensive way to read anything! ✓ New hereI am trying to get use to the app. Love the books so no issue there but don’t understand too well the coin vs point etc differences. I think they are not user friendly and that can easily turn someone away. I hope I can sort how to use those free rewards easily to keep the reading going. You either need to pay with your own money to keep reading a book or there’s this convoluted points and coins thing that to be honest makes no sense to me. ✓ Great Read, TOO ExpensiveSo I got hooked on a book, and naturally, it has over 1,200 chapters. The amount of ads and random games you have to watch/do to earn points is insane. To top it off, my points are not allowing me to transfer them to coins, so I still can’t read unless I want to shell out some major cash. The cost of buying coins is absolutely insane. Finding out I’d probably have to spend over $300 to finish the book… Going to lose a customer in me. I think I’ll just have to go back to Galatea. They have an unlimited subscription on their app that only costs $50 per year. MoboReader needs to make some serious changes if they want to retain it’s readers; either offer REASONABLE subscriptions or lower your coin costs/reward more coins for ads. ✓ Just let me buy the freaking bookIt is ridiculous to me that you have to buy the books by the chapter and it cost way too much to do that. This is the most expensive app for it that I have seen. I was reading a book that was 609 chapters granted I only got to 89 before I said screw it I'm not going to keep doing this. So the parts I read would have been better if the were shorter because there was too much repetition and could have been half of that and received the same. It’s like a 4 hour movie that should have been 2 because there was too much of nothing going on in half of it. But chapters are 3-4 pages for the most part some are a little longer. ✓ Free Read is NOT FreeNot counting the many grammar issues, mistypes and other minor issues, app is not not bad. Not great, but be aware of what your getting into. I WILL pay over $30 for a new release hardback book. With that said, I have only started on 1 book for THIS app, and have enjoyed it very much. I did end up purchasing coins twice at one point since I was so entranced with the story. And they give you opportunities to earn stars/points that convert to coins later on… MUCH later-we should be able to use those points/stars right away since we are completing the tasks required to earn said points/stars. ✓ Too ExpensiveI thought this would be similar to GALATEA and would offer a yearly subscription fee of around £50 to £60 however this app does not and expects you to pay for ‘coins’ as an exchange. This makes it so much more pricy and luckily I haven’t purchased any ‘coins’ as I’m just watching ads and waiting for them to be converted however this ruins the reading experience considering there’s actually some good books with gripping storylines. ✓ Love the books, not the point/coin set upThe books are great! Like I literally cannot stop reading once I get started, it’s addicting. However, I hate the logistics of how the points/coins work. I have so many points, but they don’t convert over to free coins for some reason and end up “expiring”. When I buy coins while having free coins, the chapters do not unlock using my free coins first and this has my free coins “expiring” as well. The 7-day checkin doesn’t refresh and start over on the new week. I can read for hours, but that doesn’t reflect on the “reading time” part that calculates the reading time in increments of 30 minutes and so on, in order to reward with that gift of extra coins. Basically the only way I can read anything is by constantly purchasing coins. I feel like the “perks advertised” is pure false advertisement. Although I love the books, this is becoming extremely annoying and too costly, so I may resort to using a different app instead like GoodNovel or Pocket Fm, whom is much more easier to navigate and cost efficient. Reviews are deceptive as they offer a reward if you give them a 5 star review - so it is not accurate 3. They offer numerous tasks for points that can only be used to play games and such - there is no option to convert to coins to purchase chapters. This is a reading app not a game app! Why would I perform tasks for points to play games?!? Only they convert them 1 time a day and only convert 130 points which gives you 20 coins. Not enough for one chapter. So even if you have 1000 points - you can do nothing with it. They will only convert 130 of them to 20 coins once a day. 4. Customer service is a bot. You send a question and a bot responds. ✓ VIP SUBSCRIPTION ISSUES!I really love this app. When I decided to subscribe every month for the VIP unlimited free book reading, it was great. Had no issues whatsoever until last month. After a few days of going back and forth with Annie the automated customer service department, they finally restored my account. Now, after the 30 days, it’s locked all my chapters AGAIN! With the monthly subscription that I have it shouldn’t lock anything and I definitely DO NOT HAVE TO PURCHASE COINS! That was the purpose of getting the VIP! I’m getting no where with customer service and now I’m just frustrated. I still want to keep this app and the current subscription that I have. Other than this issue, I love the reading app. It has a wide variety of books to choose from even if some are a little hard to read due to poor editing or grammar. I can get past that. The only thing I dislike is the fact that the takes so many coins to unlock a chapter and we do all this stuff for points but then we have to wait till it coverts some to coins. ✓ When Love Comes LateNovel is good and addictive but I read to chapter 223 and still no progress that Stella and Matthew/Maverick are married, it’s dragged on too long. I have paid 5 times for more coins but I only got a couple of pages with the $4.99 and $9.99. I paid for 3 more lots of $3.99 and got to read about 20 pages. Pretty devastated but guess what I found the free one online!! If like me you got sucked in to a story only to realise they are asking a ridiculous price for what was a great story but to be fair is written by an amateur! Then see if you can search it’s free version with a quick google search. ✓ App is very brokenTheres plenty of issues with this app would not recommend investing money. some setting even after turn off of auto will turn back onto auto consuming your coins. Any free point you make are locked to a rate of transfer to coins witch is the only way of unlocking chapters. That in my opinion are very short chapters to begin with. 2-3 minutes and you finish a chapter. The bulk packages are the best way to purchase chapter. Ut the auto lock feature will never let you save once it lock on auto unlock. Witch will go through you coins at an expensive coin charge. ✓ ScamAll for money not for the readers or authors. Free coins are only by checking in which are 10 per day, once a week you’ll receive 15-20 coins. You can earn points through ads and games but points get swapped only once per day and you redeem only 20 coins from that per day. You can’t unlock chapters with points only coins. Chapters cost a minimum of 30 coins each, most days you can’t even read one chapter, you’ll read one every two days. Price for coins is in USD and chapter prices increase when you have purchased the coins as opposed to when you are earning coins each day. I was given a free sample of 30 minutes of free reading with the option of buying 240 extra minutes of free reading (you can read all you want for a certain amount of time without using coins but you have to pay for the amount of minutes). It did not work, would open one chapter say I need to use coins to open the next although saying I had 4 hours left. So I tried it on another book, it wouldn’t even load the book, tried another and just got stuck on the page. Tried to contact customer service and it said they were not available, tried again, and again, it let me leave a message on the app. They said they would do nothing the time expired and closed the messages. The app never let you reach 7 days of checking in. It resets automatically despite you having proof that you checked in daily. So free coins are a joke. It randomly purchases things and uses your available coins that you paid real money for. Customer service is nonexistent to an outright joke. You have to wait on an AI to assist you which is always away from her desk. Try emailing customer service and they send you to the AI. So, a joke. The developers need to address these issues instead of blaming it on customer error. You get daily notifications when you have checked in but yet your progress resets. ✓ Good stories!There are good stories with interesting plots, I was able to get my eyes off from netflix binge watching and now into binge reading! It’s more of a romance pocketbook-ish instead of a novel. The negative points are: 1.) opening chapters are too pricey. 2.) 99% of the time, it does not record when you check-in. 3.) tho the points help you unlock some chapters through watching ads, they downgraded the points you earn from watching, it used to be 15 points per ad, now it is declining, first few, you get 15, then 12, 11, 6, then 5. 4.) the “help” menu is useless. Even if u try to connect to cust service, it’s going to say, the person is away from his desk or something like that. I still think that they got great authors. I hope these authors can be recognize and be able to promote their stories well. ✓ WhyWhy a three(3) spelling and so many mistakes makes even a good book annoying and with so much of it, very frustrating. If you take so much money from a client, it should be at the very least worth it. I cannot afford these fees anymore and having to work so hard just for a few points to read such bad grammar, spelling etc is just not worth it when there’s so many other choices. ✓ Complete con - there are more than 300 chapters per book!I paid for $0.99 to read for 150 minutes and the story of Rena and Waylen could have easily concluded by chapter 100 but the author starts turning the ‘book’ into basically a Bold and the Beautiful type of drama dragging on for 10+ seasons! I started speed flipping the pages and reading sentences to get the gist of it and it was painful. The couple goes through periods of “I don’t love you” at different times, then they finally get married and go through periods of entertaining divorce and in between there are fillers of how she’s adopted and her best friend’s love crisis and them having a kid while continuing their love drama. At chapter 296 the app freezes me out - I had run out of minutes! But now I know for sure this app is a waste of time and money. ✓ Takes my money without permissionI’m very frustrated with the book as it auto selected to purchase new chapters and would not allow me to disable it. Now a new chapter is always purchased even if I don’t want that. I tried resetting the settings and clearing cache, and went as far as trying to reaching out to the developers but it just has a robo reply which doesn’t address the problem at all and no other way to contact the developers. They don’t care about their customer’s opinions and just want their money without the input of the reader in whether they wish to purchase the book or not. ✓ Questionable Business DealingsI was very interested in reading an ebook in this app but after spending $14 I wasn’t finished. There are mistakes in character names (it would seem) and a number of grammatical mistakes. I’m guessing that the novel I was reading is a translation from another language to English. Am I willing to spend more to finish the story even with mistakes? It’s not worth it for me to spend on an unknown writer with an unknown editor. I feel that I’ve spent too much already. AND I don’t even know how much each chapter is costing me. It doesn’t tell you in advance exactly how many coins you need to finish the story. No transparency here. I know for a fact that there are better written books that costs less than what I have already spent on a story in this app. I’m going to give up on this particular novel and leave it unfinished. ✓ Don’t like it…I literally just downloaded this app to read a book that was said to be on it and it wasn’t there when I would search in the search bar. Im not pleased with this app not only as I feel I was pretty much tricked to download it but the set up is absolutely horrible. When reading I can’t figure out how to even go back to the main page with out completely closing the app and I can’t figure out how to pop up those setting that it shows in the beginning when you download the app on how to change the font and to change the way how the pages flip. ✓ SCAM DO NOT BUY SUBSCRIPTIONSo I saw a add on tiktok with a portion of a book on it, started reading then went ahead and downloaded the app.. I got through a couple chapters then realized you have to pay and buy coins to continue ready on, there’s little games you can play for coins but with the games you only get maybe 2-3 chapters a day, and it takes hours playing games to get enough points to get coins, just to read roughly 10 pages. It’s not worth it! So I decided to buy a subscription, 2000 coins instantly 800 coins daily , i recieved the 2000 then NEVER recieved the 800 daily coins! I tried talking to customer service but they either don’t answer or just say send more info and never resolve anything!! This book I’ve been reading has over 700 chapter, it will take OVER 600$ JUST TO READ THIS ONE BOOK don’t get hooked ! It’s stupid and a scam!
