Can’t Login to Multiple Stores?Great app however the only issue I have is not being able to login to multiple stores. Hoping this feature is added soon!.Version: 5.18.0

Needs email forwarding & other featuresDecent app however, it needs a way to forward an entire chat to a colleague for follow-up via email - especially for older customers (who have money). Also, depending on how a customer enters their email, Shopify inbox may or may not link it to the chat and annoyingly, you can’t tap and hold an email within the chat to copy it - so you literally have to write it down on paper! We also need a way to manually link an email to a chat when we recognise the customer so the chat list is more practical. Also, there doesn’t seem to be a way to bulk close multiple or all chats. Also, when a customer leaves the chat, you often have to answer a lot of questions in a longer chat or customers will get multiple emails which is annoying for them. The problem is that longer responses push the send button under the keyboard so you can’t send the response as one email! And finally, the app displays a day/date for each exchange within the chat but we find ourselves also needing to see the exact time of an exchange within the chat as well..Version: 6.13.0

Pretty good except for integrationThis is a perfectly adequate messaging app with all the standard features and a nice interface. However, when it comes to integrations it leaves MUCH to be desired. The notifications will not go away, badges stay on the app icon, and if you're already communicating with customers via social media it does nothing but cause extra hassle. Download the app, but if you value your time don't integrate it with ANYTHING.Version: 6.1.0

Needs multi store supportAmazing app if you only have 1 store. I run 2. (Both off the same email) The only way to switch between stores is to log out and log back in with the other one - (unless I’m missing something).Version: 6.2.1

Crashes all the time, slow interfaceWhen many messages, app is unusable. Difficult to serve many clients. No way to setup multi-users to answer clients. Doesn’t work if you have multiple storesAnd closed conversations by one team don’t close them for another user. It’s always indicating that I have an unread message no matter what. Notification sound no longer worksWhen someone clicks to chat, the mobile app does not ping or notify. Just an email. I have tested this with all different setting and still not working. Bring back ping.Version: 5.0.1

Good(ish) but flawed and slowSo yeah, this is pretty good. But needs work. The app is slow - I get a notification of a message and then it takes at least 30-60 seconds to load the message. No customizationIt’s drives me nuts that I can’t set my availability hours. I’m getting chat requests when I’m in bed at 1 am because my store shows I’m online and available to chat. I reach out to customer service and they confirmed there is no way to set hours. What? On top of that, I don’t always get a notification when someone chats. I opened the app today to see a message that was 4 hours old. It would be nice to set hours and let people submit their question for a later reply. Also, it would be nice to have a text sent to me when I have a chat request, and even that I could just reply to that request via text (using a masked number). This is all standard functionality that was included in most apps when I was using woocommerce. I will upgrade my review when some changes are made..Version: 5.0.1

Attracts total garbageIf you really want to turn your business into a waking nightmare- integrate this app into your store. You’ll find that the only people who try to contact you via this are total sociopaths or just pranksters. You may even get the occasional stalker. It is completely and absolutely unnecessary unless you’ve designed a site so bad that it needs instant feedback from a debugger who can message you instantly which, again, pointless. Post your email address visibly on your page so that people can reach you that way. Otherwise you are only adding something that will irritate you and not lead to any kind of sale 9/10 times. Not worth it at all..Version: 5.10.1

No spam controlNeeds help with spam control and a way to actually delete conversations instead of marking them “inactive.”.Version: 4.2.0

Privacy issueSends home address to every spammer and you can't change it. when u reply it emails them with your address. Needs refiningDoesn’t link up very easily a bit glitchy with inventory available and email replies, not sure if I'm doing something wrong but i feel it should link up if your logged into the same account. Other than that it’s a good way to chat to customers it just needs refining.Version: 6.5.1

Login issues...The last 3 months I’ve got an error message when logging in which means I can’t access the app any longer, before these login issues I had chat enabled with the site but when a customer started a chat it didn’t show up in the app so the customer got no reply so one issue after another! All in all I think I’ll give up trying to log in..Version: 2.5.1

Broken appSeriously why release a new app when it’s broken and leave it on the App Store? Just wastes hours of my time and there’s not even a fix released for it yet. Who’s paying for the hours of my time lost because of your faulty app that broke my existing good app? Okay, still needs workCustomers use this quite a bit, so that’s both a plus and a challenge. However, notifications seem sporadic, so I often miss messages. Supposedly you can set a message to auto-respond to customers , but when I try to do that on iPhone, I get an error saying I must pick a time zone from the picker below. There is NO place in the app to do that, and clicking okay to close the error results on losing the entire message I had set up. It ought to pull a time zone right from our site….. And, since you can’t actually choose away hours (big issue) it really doesn’t need a time zone anyway..Version: 5.1.0

Basic but worksExtremely basic chat app with no other functionality. The notification sound is very quiet. Would be nice to be able to change that like with others. It shows you the product name the customer is looking at but that’s not really enough. It needs a clickable link to the product and to include the product SKU. Other website chat apps have more advanced features, like the ability to see a list of visitors on your site in real time, their location and cart. Would be nice to have that live visitor view on this app..Version: 6.16.0

A good start..I’ve had my saved replies removed/deleted twice now.... why? I would like the customer to fill out who they are and possibly see if they've ordered before, if they have abondoned cart, etc so you know who you are talking to. Right now it's just a generic ID being assigned to each person and I find that most conversations because of this are very unnecessary. When I fill in my info on a chat box it's because I need something or help. I find because it's so easy to enter anything, useless time is spent responding to people who don't respond back..Version: 2.3.1

Decent app but missing some basic featuresGiven this app 3 stars .. would be 5 but has a couple of major flaws. 1. Track my order is completely useless, confusing to customers and there should be an option to disable. 2. Only works on ONE shopify site, we have 3 ! 3. Great start, but...***UPDATED REVIEW AGAIN*** STILL glitchy. Shows notification badge, but I can’t find the message that’s supposedly going unanswered. Sometimes I can respond to messages, sometimes I can’t. Photos may or may not show… definitely not a one stop handle it all platform. Becoming less impressed as time goes on. **Updated Review** Still glitchy. Still very laggy - messages often are delivered about 1/2 hr behind, so not cool when customers are trying to get in touch. I may as well stick with Pages. Sometimes the functions work, sometimes not. Still no ability to send photos, (very important with my business), so I have to keep switching between Ping and Messenger, which kind of defeats the purpose. I really like the ability to link to products, and create draft orders... Hoping for some updates and fixes, as I really want this to work for me. Poor user experienceLimited images are available to be viewed. Why let customers upload images that I can’t view?! I can’t upload images to share with customers. Often, customers don’t receive my replies even when I reply immediately. Limited ability to organize conversations. Inability to assign a conversation to a customer rather than randomly generated id. Slow notificationsNotifications seem to be clumsy and slow, the inability to send pictures/videos from the me to clients is also super annoying. Not being able to have at least a first name for a person you’re chatting with for the sake of “privacy” is absolutely stupid.. I just find myself continuously annoyed with this app and am thinking about going back to Podium for the better more rounded experience.. even though it cost $400 a month...Version: 2.2.5

Too much solicitingSince using our Shopify store we get at least ten solicitations. People wanting to sell us their marketing schemes to help us with our online presence. It’s frustrating. We have to answer all chats in case they are actually our customers reaching out to us. Out of ten chats only one or two are our customers the rest are trying to sell us their marketing skills. We pay for Shopify we didn’t realize that we would have to deal with solicitors daily and how much of our time is wasted on them..Version: 7.7.0

Not fond of messagesI find that each reply from myself or a customer is showing in Ping as a separate message. Notification Settings need improving..Firstly, there needs to be active working hours. Or you’ll be getting notifications day and night. Secondly, every single person with a user account gets emailed every time someone starts a chat. I’ve not found any way to stop this from happening… Other than that, adding a live chat feature to the store has helped more customers and also increased our sales! Thirdly, when speaking with customers and creating an order, there really needs to be an option to send a draft order invoice link or pdf attachment..Version: 5.14.1

Can’t switch storesSuch a shame you can switch between different stores without logging out and back in again. I’ve seen a lot of other people speak about the same problem on the forums. When you manage more than one Shopify store, not being able to easily switch slows you down!.Version: 7.3.0

Unreliable at a stretchThis app is pretty flaky! It crashes often, it seems like live chats end or get lost resulting in poor customer service on the fly to ultimately get the sales over the line. It’s handy to have on your mobile device, but would also be better to access this app/plugin from a desktop to help with quicker custom replies. Does what it’s supposed to but…It gives me ghost notifications. I have went through everything I can think of, including every conversation of the thousands we have since starting this last year, and I still have a notification for an unread chat. It is very very annoying. It also needs to communicate better with the web version. I shouldn’t need to mark as complete on every conversation on every device that is used..Version: 7.1.2

Not notifying of new messagesUpdate causing problems with iOS. Doesn’t give phone notifications so we are missing responding to customers. Had to disable until fixed. Update: tried enabling it again. Poor Notification SpeedsReally slow at the notifications coming through to the point the customer has left the store or about to before your able to respond to customers. I am going to remove the chat option from my store and stick with FB messenger 🤦🏽‍♂️.Version: 3.2.1

Desperately needs a search functionI enjoyed this free app especially when I was able to text our customers offline messages instead of emailing them. Works pretty goodIt functions pretty well. I find the “kit” feature annoying. Biggest issue with it is there is no option to have the customer at least enter there name before they can send s message. Makes it confusing when you get busy keeping them all straight. Can’t switch between inboxesYou can monitor only one inbox in the iOS inbox app. difficult to monitor several stores in the app. You have login and logout each time. Even in the web browser it’s not conviniént. Besides that it does a very good job..Version: 7.4.0

Does not work properlyEver since Ping became Shopify Inbox, we’ve had so many complaints from customers. 1 - We don’t always get a notification when I customer messages us. It’s hit or miss. Sometimes we open the app only to see we had a message awaiting response from the previous day. Terrible 2 - Whether a customer “sees” our response is hit or miss. At times we report, but the customer can’t see our response, it appears delivered on our side but the customer doesn’t see anything. Sometimes we get multiple “hello”’s or the same questions again and again because customer feel they’re being ignored. And the integration into the stores dashboard? Has yet to work/launch at all. Terrible…just terrible. Ping worked fine, how did you manage to eff up the upgrade so badly….Version: 5.1.0

Needs A LOT of improvements!This feedback is so important, please listen to your customers. I saw this also asked in the forum for at least a year now and no change. We have multiple stores under the same login, and there’s no way to switch between stores unless I log out then log back in this makes it a hard option to use Shopify Inbox as a solution for chat..Version: 6.11.0

Great but needs improvementGreat system and will be good when it’s fine tuned a little more. Seems to work well although it is extremely frustrating to get notifications of when someone visits back to the store and doesn’t actually message or need any help. It’s great to see a users history of visits but we don’t need to be notified every second someone returns. Otherwise I’m sorting through outstanding unread message notifications to find there is actually no messages to reply to, just tonnes of alerts of customers leaving and returning to the store. Lost all Saved Replies and Can’t recreate themVery disappointed in this version, we seem to have lost access to all our saved replies (without any notice) and have no way of re-creating them nor is the app allowing us to do so. The few that we have been able to recover, keep saying that keyword already exists, but they are not available in the latest version. Please fix ASAP! We rely on saved replies greatly to provide a lot of info without having to spend the time writing them again and again each time..Version: 2.2.0

Doesn’t allow to switch storesI have multiple stores in Shopify and this app doesn’t allow to switch stores which doesn’t make sense since you can do this pretty easily on the Shopify app. Also you only receive messages from the store you are logged in so even if you have another store under the same account you will not get any notifications. You have to log out and log in into the other store which is a pretty annoying process..Version: 5.6.0

Missing a lotSo, I think this could be a good thing, but there’s no way to block spammers from messaging and delete their conversations! I feel like this is really important as I get a lot of spam and thought the Shopify chat would block that better than other chat apps on Shopify. Great Tool, Couple Annoying ThingsPing is a game changer for being able to help our customers immediately and effectively! It’s wonderful to have a tool that makes that communication possible. There are two annoying things: 1) there is a constant “new/unread” message prompting you to begin advertising with Kit. Imagine an ad that never leaves your inbox—especially if you don’t require the services it’s offering. Annoying. 2) The other has probably been laid out a thousand times, but there’s no desktop application for Ping. So you can look forward to running all your online chats from your phone. Not really the way we like to spend our days! Nor is it very scalable — even with setting up shortcuts..Version: 2.4.1

Constantly Shows 1 NotificationI have opened everything in the app and to no avail that notification on the app shows I have ONE something not read/complete. Love it but it’s not consistentLove this option for my customers inquiring about our hair care but it signs us out constantly and completely freezes at the most random times. LIMITEDI love the integrated features with Shopify like being able to seamlessly share product links, invoices and discount links...but the limitations with capturing the customer's information before starting the chat is annoying and actually counterproductive. If i dont know who i am speaking to or how to reach them if I missed their chat request then I have no way of following up with that potential customer. Very bad, and because of that reason alone I'm switching to the "Pure Chat" app until Shopify fixes these annoying limitations..Version: 1.7.3

Doesn’t workI thought this was working just fine until this morning when dozens of missed messages going back months all of a sudden showed up in my inbox. All these potential customers now think I’ve ignored them. I have this on my phone, iPad and desktop and get notifications regularly so I had no idea it wasn’t working properly. For the app to be sending me about 10% of messages and then the other 90% all at once long after the customers have left them is completely unacceptable..Version: 5.5.0

UninstallingThe customer chat feature leaves much to be desired. There is a lag between when a customer sends a message and when you receive it. Often times, the customer seems to have closed out of the chat even when I reply instantly. It would be great to know whether the customer read and received the message or if I am just typing into an abyss. The Kit marketing feature is kind of lame. It doesn’t result in any sales for me and it is always suggesting to market products that “are popular this week” when they’re not actually popular products. It’s all counterproductive and I’ve spent a couple hundred dollars on advertising and have only lost money..Version: 2.1.1

Works but….It constantly shows a notification on the App even through the messages have been read, responded to and closed. I have to delete the app then reinstall to clear this. Another issue is not being able to clear or archive old messages only to move to closed..Version: 6.11.0

Unsure how this is helpingThis app has the potential to convert shoppers into customers BUT what good is it if it sending my response as an email? It’s not real time chat. I’m also not getting notifications on my phone and I’m not in my laptop all day, that’s the point. My customers message winding up in the crappy messenger app is a downfall. I would rather have the ability of a chat to go to an actual phone number as a text message or creat an app that gives you a real-time notification that you can respond to from you app, not send an email.Version: 5.8.0

Great concept, poor executionPing is a great concept for small business owners to be able to provide live customer service via chat, but the app itself is clunky. When you’re having a chat with a customer, in Ping it gets broken out to different chat records (8+), so you don’t have the whole chat thread in one chat record. How was it built this poorly to function like this? Search is completely useless. So if you’ve chatted with a customer a few weeks ago, and you want to find that chat to look at the history, it’s impossible. All searches always come up empty. The welcome and away messages are nice, but they appear EVERY TIME a customer sends a message in a thread. So on the rare occasion that the chat is contained in a single thread, the welcome and away messages should only show once, after the first customer message. No desktop or web app? Luckily I use a keyboard with my iPad, otherwise I would have deleted it s a long time ago. Of course it’s nice to be able to respond to customers on your phone, if you’re away from your home office, but it shouldn’t be the only way to use if. Shopify is a phenomenal platform with excellent customer service. This app feels like it was thrown together as an afterthought..Version: 2.4.1

Not reliableToo many customers weren’t getting their replies. Tested between my laptop and phone and found when I’d sent replies from my brand, they didn’t appear in the customer chat window on my phone. Better to have no chat than one that leaves customers thinking you’re ignoring them. When it did work it was handy to be able to send links to products easily. Please improve this..Version: 2.6.1

This app is just so scammers can message youThis is so ridiculous, dozens of messages of “hey” when you already know it’s a scam because the same name did it 4 times already, block conversation, it comes back because this app lets them. “Why don’t you want my service” dozens of times . And also CREATES THEM, I go to my store and there is no visitors, and the email sign up says created from inbox, I am completely disappointed Shopify would annoy or allow completely false people to sell completely false advertising to store owners. Spam MagnetLove the idea, don’t love being bombarded by spam offering marketing help. Most is from other countries and scams..Version: 6.17.0

FunctionalI like that the app is free and has some built in features like automated FAQs and integrations with Apple / FB / Shopify Chat. I don’t like that you’re only able to set an away message for your unavailable times and that the app doesn’t respect those times you set and notifies you “a customer needs a response or they may leave your store” when I’m trying to set some boundaries for work / life balance on my weekends. Ideally I wish there was a way that you could set those availability times to disable the chat option on your site. I understand the thought process that it’s a potentially lost lead, but having a chat feature display when the chat isn’t actually available is a worse customer experience. I sometimes go through the hassle of enabling and disabling the chat manually, but more often just finding myself leaving it disabled..Version: 4.1.0

Has shortcomings.It would be great if it had a feature where notifications don’t show up on the devices for messages sent outside of available hours. It could be optional. The point of available hours is not to be bothered outside of them. Also, Facebook Messenger integration doesn’t work very well. I have tried several conversations and none of the messages I sent were actually delivered. I could receive messages from FBM, not send them..Version: 2.4.1

Amazing feature, but I get a ton of spamThis app is great when customers have questions and I LOVE that I can see if they have open carts. However….lately I’ve been getting nothing but spam in the middle of the night waking me up. Sometimes multiple chats over and over again at 3am. I’ve edited my store hours, but wish I could close the chat for anyone outside of the US/Canada. I know all those chats coming in the middle of the night are from overseas scammers and it’s bothering me so much I’m considering just turning the whole thing off…which I hate to do since I have closed sales with the chat feature and do really love it (in the daytime!) I hope the shopify chat developers would consider adding a location filter to the chat. 🙏🏻.Version: 7.6.3

Shopify Messenger AppI’m disappointed with the chat facility.. every time it updates I have to sign in and are left with a blank screen. I have to delete the app and reinstall it everytime to access the messages. I’ve also tried contacting Shopify via chat and email and both systems fail to allow me to send either a chat or email. I’m now trying to delete the chat facility off my store .. wish me luck.Version: 5.11.2

Keeps crashing after latest update? Normally goodFor the past day and a half (since March 19) every time I open the app it immediately crashes — I’ve tried closing the app many times and restarted my phone but it hasn’t helped. If a customer sends a message I can’t reply to them because the app won’t even let me get to the full message. Hope this gets fixed soon! I’ve never had this issue with the app before..Version: 2.3

Good but needs ability to send images and filesYou can only send text messages to your customers it would be good if you could send images and files as well using the chat option.Version: 1.4.2

Needs some improvementsApp is good but have some frustrating features. I’ve linked Ping with my FB Messenger so I can share products with FB customers more easily. I have staff on messenger that don’t have access to Shopify so my availability in messenger is different to ping, now my customers get both the ping auto response and my messenger auto response which is highly confusing! Why is there no way to turn the auto messages off just for messenger as I can turn off the ability to see and reply to messages in Ping that come through on messenger but can’t turn off the stupid auto responses! Also customers have no way of knowing when your typing a reply so often leave the store before you have a chance to send your reply. And lastly there is no function for the customer to attach an image or file this would be really helpful. Hoping for some improvements soon..Version: 4.2.0
