✓ Feedback for developersThis app was brilliant when first launched but it hasn’t kept up with the times and now I’m leaving for a replacement. Features that are missing. 1. Ability to set a font size. 2. Horizontal scroll when a formula exceeds width at set font size. 3. A permanent gap at the bottom to write even more formulae’s underneath each other. Currently I draw a scribble under my last formula which squishes everything up and then I write the new formulae. 4. Vertical scrolling with a permanent gap at the bottom for writing a formula under the last formula. 5. Scribbling over numbers and division lines doesn’t erase character. Scribbles are distinctive. They’re used in app icons. A scribble should be easily recognized as erase..Version: 2.0.8
✓ READ THIS! DO NOT BUYI bought this app because I mean, it obviously looks fun being able to write and sometimes makes doing math more fun either if you take breads drawing on it (though the drawings soon becomes a math equations or question mark) and I thought it would help me do my math hw faster. The first few days or weeks it’ll be fine and it works to solve basic math equations, but for long term use, A WASTE OF MONEY! Due to me trying to write my problems quickly at times, it makes me frustrated that sometimes as I write one number or another, it’ll give me a different one than I asked and i soon becomes annoyed. Perhaps if the developers were to be add a part to this app, somewhat like math was, that would help you solve problems as well it may be worth, but for a calculator that just solves basic problems still and even has function problems, I wouldn’t spend money on this. ✓ Still OK-ish but...I’m glad I have v1 on my iPad - just wish I could get it onto my iPhone. I find, for what I want, this v2 just too necessarily complicated to be comfortable with. I also think it a bit underhand to leave its title unchanged in the App Store. If it had been more clear, I would have read the description more carefully before (not) getting it! ✓ Not as accurate as previous versionOct 18. Disappointed that they have not sorted out the percentage issue I reported months ago. It works in version 1 but still does not work in version 2. The new version does not recognise the percentage sign as easily as the old version did. I did report it and was advised of a work round but it is still hit and miss. And has not yet been fixed Fortunately, I kept the old version which while deprecated does work better for percentages. That said I’m still impressed that it recognises my handwriting..Version: 2.0.5
✓ What about variablesI like the app but it cannot solve equations. For example 2x+9y=-10, how could the calculator solve that it cannot solve equations or the slope or anything like find x. This calculator is more of numbers than letters you shouldn’t just put numbers. What if we wanted to find a diff answer then what, other than that great app..Version: 2.0.2

✓ Good but not a real calculatorI bought this calculator thinking it would be perfect for school, since I am often writing down algebraic formulas and then having to go back and plug variables into a calculator later. It works well for simple math, but the truth is this isn’t really a full calculator. It won’t do decimals with more than 6 leading zeros and if you do a calculation involving negative exponents you likely to get an answer of zero. I like the app, but honestly, how hard is it to display a number in scientific notation? If you can display 1 billion why not one billionth? I can’t even really use this half the time.Version: 2.0.6
✓ DisappointedMathaway is by far better and the free version of mathaway actually can solve 9x+9y this program cannot it’ll mistake y for 1 and re-edit your math problem completely frustrating I hope updates fix this if not it’ll be deleted off my phone and avoided like the plague. It claims it can do algebra, geometry and calculus but when you type anything in it rewrites your problem you want it to solve.Version: 2.0.2
✓ Bottom line, doesn’t recognize American 7sWe don’t write our 1s like 7s and don’t put lines through our 7s. Not for Americans and until they fix this, it’s too erratic and cumbersome. ✓ Lack of functionalityI am disappointed by the lack of functions, as someone who used your previous app which was fully functional though didn’t calculate, it is disappointing that this app can not solve “complex” equations such as finding the value of a variable in equations such as: 3+X=2, due to the fact that it does not recognize variable. While is can solve equations such as “2 x __ = 8” saying the empty area is four. The function is immensely confusing. I do not however want to trash this app as a programmer I am in awe of your hand writing recognition capabilities, though I am disappointed in its lack of ability to compute most every equation, especially series’s. ✓ Difficult interfaceWhile trying to use the calculator, it begins attempting to solve the equation while I am still writing it. I find myself repeatedly trying to enter in the full equation fast enough before it starts calculating before it’s fully entered. I suppose this could work if your doing very short calculations, but for longer formulas, I found this calculator was not helpful..Version: 2.0.6

✓ Garbage for anyone who knows some mathI hardly write a review for an App, but the overall 4.3 review is so confusing miss leading. I regret purchasing this App. As long as you can do very basic math, this App is not what you want. It can only do adding, subtracting and meaningless fractional convention. IT CANNOT DO INTEGRALS, RECOGNIZING FIRST/SECOND ORDER EQUATIONS, OR MATRICES. In other words, if you are above primary school level, you don’t need this. You spend several seconds to write input a math your brain can solve in 1 second. When you want it to solve some real time-consuming equations, it doesn’t work! ✓ Doesn’t work for me on small screenI bought this because the concept is great, but I just can’t get it to be reliable on an iPhone screen. It’s just too hard to write with your finger on a small screen and have it recognize it properly. Maybe it works better with a stylus, but to me that defeats the purpose. For me a traditional calculator button interface will have to suffice. I don’t have time to struggle with calculator input, sorry! Maybe it works better for others..Version: 2.0.5

✓ Very inaccurateIt has a really hard time distinguishing between bracket and 1, cons and decimal. It’s also really hard to edit a misrecognition because it’s hard to erase a small thing like a decimal or bracket. Also hard to insert a number between two things. ✓ Not for smaller device usersThere are a few major problems on this app. For example, it is very difficult to write any equation because the writing space is very limited; though that might be just a small device problem. Another problem is having a difficult time editing the equation. Say you wrote an equation already. You then realize you messed up and try to fix it~ it gets confused and tries to put something else instead or it just doesn’t work at all. This is happened to me plenty of times and it’s gotten to the point where I’ve given up. Everything else works fine though, like the simpler problems. All in all I think this app is all right, although if I had to say, I would NOT recommend purchasing this item. Very disappointed in this!.Version: 2.0.2
✓ Cool idea but lacking functionalityReally wanted to like this app, however it is limited to such basic functionality that it is no faster than solving with a regular calculator or by hand. Even basic stuff like quadratics and equations with more than one unknown variable it cannot solve. ✓ Generally having a hard time recognizing hand readingSpent more time trying to correct the equation than writing it or putting it in an actual calculator. Especially in the split screen mode with an apple pen and a somewhat larger equation. Please consider the case with apple pen where the palm would sometimes touch the screen and the app would pick it up and think it’s part of the equation. Please consider the function of snapshotting a hand written equation from another app (clipboard) and pasting it into this one, most likely happens in the split screen view . So I do not have to write the same equation twice. I’m happy to pay more if that is a functionality. Please also consider a toolbar on top of the screen for some quick frequent use cases because I feel like the screen is not fully used or occupied. For cases where I need to put a ? In the equation, I was not able to do it on two equations at the same time. Please tell me if I did it the wrong way. General a helpful app, but it’s not good enough for a $5 app. Hope to see improvements. :).Version: 2.0.6

✓ Most unworthy app in App StoreI’ve bought this rubbish app while ago for £2.99 which doesn’t do anything, the only things it does is simple things like basic multiplication, divisions and fractions. Even though I just found out today, the app became free, because they couldn’t sell enough of being so simple nobody wants to buy it. The reality is If whoever made this app care and wanted to stay on a business and make people buying this app, they have to add so many functionalities to this app. They can learn from a great app like Photomath, FX Calculus Problem Solver and so many others..Version: 2.0.5

✓ MediocreThe app is fine for basic calculations but it can’t deal with letters other than “e” or “π”. This makes the app terrible if you want to solve algebraic equations. This can be solved with the question mark for equations where a variable only appears once but if you want to use the same variable in an equation like x^2+10x+25. This also makes it hard to use it for graphs Overall, the app is fine but not great. If you really had the need for a more efficient calculator than the default one, this app is not for you. This means overall I would not recommend you buy this unless it is updated to better handle algebraic equations. TL;DR unless it’s updated, don’t bother with this app.Version: 2.0.6
✓ UnusableThis would be a great app if it wasn’t for the decimal issue, however I cant seem to get the decimal totally centrally each time and so can’t trust the results without double checking every time, and that defeats the object. I work with numbers and calculations to 2 dec places all day in my job, and in this industry the convention is to use a comma as a thousand separator. ✓ Pay for decreased functionality!This app used to be free and fantastic, but the developer got really greedy. One day we I was using it, three core features - history, memory and the ability to drag numbers - was disabled, and the developer wanted me to pay $1.5 (half of what this entire app costs) to restore functionally that was already there! Moreover, this app actually has LESS settings than the old free app e.g. ability to hide deg/rad sign, and having a gridded background to write on. I know that developers have the power to do these things, but it's just so greedy and leaves users feeling cheated of their money. If they didn't do this petty cash grab I would've given them a 5 star review as the actual app itself works pretty well. As it stands however, absolutely terrible experience on my end..Version: 2.0.5

✓ Good concept, lots of room for improvementI’ve used this for a few basic calculations and it’s working well so far, at least so far as getting the right answers, although you can’t write at an angle or it doesn’t recognise what you’ve written. The huge font size is really bugging me though and I can’t find any way to adjust it. I have an iPad Pro (10.5”) and just three calculations take up half the screen, which frankly is ridiculous. I have to actually physically move my eyes across the screen to read it. The pen stroke is also way too thick, it’s like writing with a sharpie. If you do enough rows of calculations (about 20) the font size gets more reasonable, but then you’re left with a tiny gap at the bottom to write any further sums, made harder by the thick line you have to write with. It seems a shame, because with just a few adaptations to the interface and it would be one of my most useful apps, but as it is, I doubt I’ll use it much..Version: 2.0.5
✓ Doesn’t do simple calculationsFirstly, I bought the MyScript Calculator 1 (Lifetime) while ago so it wasn’t subscription. Sadly, people who made this app with help of greedy Apple Corporation company, which doesn’t seem to care about their customers anymore, took down the MyScript Calculator 1 from App Store and realise the second version of the app, and we have to pay again to have run on our iOS devices. Secondly, this app doesn’t even calculate the simple calculation like ( 4b+3-2b+6= ) or ( 4a+3=31 ) also when you calculate the Surds or some might call it mix; the app doesn’t give you an option to have a Answer with Surds or decimal. The app is not worth it for £2.99 with doing nothing. However, hopefully in the future soon see those calculations ( Algebra, Surds or ... ) in this app, and then I’ll give you 5 stars..Version: 2.0.2

✓ A great app for working stuff out...butGreat on an iPad with Apple Pencil. See the answer worked out before you. So much easier than complex calculator button presses. Easy to explain to others too. One significant star down because it gets stuff wrong. 2/2x(2+2) =16 but the app gets 1! I assume the parentheses are left??? One star down because I need to be able to grow the page, solve complex equations with multiple variables, this would make it a killer app!.Version: 2.0.6
