No app is magic, and all are limited by what Apple will allow a developer to do… I had had many false starts at making notes of my HomeKit codes with free tools. They've always suffered as being too cumbersome. Once I picked up this app, I finished the record keeping project in one session. The addition of custom fields is excellent! ✓ Very useful app and a very responsive developerI have my whole house (60+ HomeKit devices) cataloged using this app. When I first purchased it and encountered a strange bug with the camera on an iPad that I reported, the dev contacted me personally and pushed an update to the app within a day which fully solved the issue I was seeing. ✓ Excellent app with some problemsThis is an excellent app for creating a database of HomeKit codes. It will sync between all your devices and can even create a PDF of codes for backup storage. On macOS, it's not without it's problems, which seem to mostly stem from the Catalyst framework that developers use to bring iPad apps to the Mac. For instance, the app doesn't save it's wndow position between launches, the fonts used in the main window are painfully small on a 5K iMac display and some options are simple not applicable to the Mac, like turning on the Camera flash when scanning a HomeKit code. These issues don't detract from the overall usefullness of HomePass, and hopefully future versions will smooth out the issues..Version: 1.9.1

Devices dropping off or suddenly failing to respond, resets required, Automations stop working. HomePass is awesome for resetting devices when things go wrong. ✓ Have to have for HomekitYou just absolutely need this for HomeKit. Well, to be truthful, for Homekit if you have more than 3 or 4 accessories. Either that or a notebook to keep track of device codes. One or the other. if you think you don’t need it, just wait until you need to re-enter one of the codes!.Version: 1.9.24

The only thing I don’t like about this app. Is once you switch things around from one room to a different room. It thinks it is new. Some devices carry the code on them, but not all, so this is one way to have peace of mind, should you happen to move or need to reinstall a HomeKit device. Best of all, it renders the codes in a way that makes them easy to scan, although you’d need one device as the scanner (iPhone) and one as the device being scanned (iPad).
