✓ Five star game with three star voice acting!This is a first class game, with a wide range of excellent (but mostly not brain-numbing) puzzles. Spread across six beautifully realised settings, it will keep you engaged for many hours (it took me around 10 hours to complete). Such a shame that the game is let down by some terrible voice acting. What on earth is going on? It must have cost a huge amount of money to create so why on earth skimp on such an important element? Thankfully, apart from an insanely long epilogue, there isn’t much of it, so don’t let that put you off purchasing the game, which is of the highest quality..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Excellent room escape!I found the 1st House of DaVinci (which you should also totally buy and play both games are def worth a few bucks) around the time “the room” games were getting massively popular and so of course a hundred devs jumped on the bandwagon. The difference in this game and all the other escape game clones is this game is AWESOME! I rank it right up there with the room series, and so if you love those you will love these or I have without a doubt. To be fair I like these so much I’ve already pre ordered the 3rd installment. Both games have been perfect to scratch my point and click, or room escape itches..Version: 1.0.9
✓ Stuck because of a bugI was enjoying the game up until the crane puzzle - the hint keeps telling me to pick up a “small inconspicuous object” on the stone block, but I picked that object up earlier and it’s now missing from my inventory (and it’s not back on the block). Can’t progress without this object, so I wait in hope of a fix. EDIT - restarted the chapter as suggested and realised as I reached that point again that I had been looking in the wrong *time* for the object. Entirely my fault, don’t know how I missed the word “snow” in the hint. A smack to the forehead for me, and a raise to five stars for the devs..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Great game, poor voice-actingTitle says it all. Knocked a star off because the voice acting was awful and took me completely out of any sense of immersion. Four stars may even be generous, but there are many other great facets of the game such as the suspense and the well-designed puzzles, so it wouldn’t be fair to be too harsh on an “overall” rating. I hope the developers don’t skimp on the acting side of things next time. And go further with developing the characters. ✓ Beautiful graphicsI do agree with other reviewers that too many of the puzzles are shapes based (patterns/find the correct shaped object) however the graphics and length of game more than make up for that. I really loved working my way through the stages; it is - by far - the closest thing to The Room series that I’ve found so far. I am a little obsessed with these sort of iPad games and this was up there in my top 3. I just wish the ending had been more satisfactory...!.Version: 1.0.3

✓ Great game, that may quick lose many first-time playersThe great features of this game have already been extensively covered here, so I’ll just discuss my only critique: the game is too difficult at the start. I’m a mathematician and I got frustrated by the puzzles at the start in the courtyard. I found myself using the hints - which felt like a failure - and when I needed to lookup the order of the zodiac on Google, just to solve a puzzle, I closed the game, never to return. A very important video game technique to optimise player retention is to make the start of your game VERY easy. This makes the player feel good about themselves and eager to continue. Provide significant rewards for early wins and slowly increase the difficulty of the game and over time reduce the rewards. Another benefit of this technique is that the player gets to see a lot more of the game before potentially giving up early. I’m sure that, by adding some easier puzzles at the start, you will attract a much larger audience and you will enjoy a far greater retention..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Incredible accomplishmentYou took everything that was great about the first HoD and then lifted it further. Not only that, with cut scenes and storyline you’ve really stepped up and made an indelible mark on the genre. I have to say, it is probably the best escape puzzle game I’ve played yet. Some of the puzzles are really hard but they’re all doable with persistence, and some of the next steps are very tricky to find, but again persistence pays off. My only criticism was that the poem at the end was a bit much. I wanted the information from it, so I couldn’t skip, but it dragged a lot for me, and it didn’t seem particularly authentic. ✓ PLAY THIS IF YOU’RE A PUZZLE FANI love puzzles and this is perfect with just the right amount of mystery, adventure, and storyline. My favourite part was the elephant cabinet and light room as they were the most engaging. Only recommendation is fixing the close-to end since the book didn’t make much sense and went on for a little while. 10/10 recommend though. ✓ Beyond amazing!I’ve played many games but this is my very first review as I just had to share the love. The storyline, graphics/artistry, puzzles and music are all superb. I loved that there were many stages, felt long but even then I didn’t want it to end. I truly hope there will be a third /many more games to follow this! My only ‘criticism’ was that the voice of Da Vinci sounded more like a voiceover artist than an actor. The rich, character voice used for the last story (of King Roger) would have been ideal, but I’m just being pedantic. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this more highly enough! Bravo to all involved! ✓ Fantastic Game!Amazing amazing amazing. I am a puzzle fanatic and this is brilliant. Just the right level of curiosity and the right amount of help. Great game and just so clever. It’s great that it’s interactive and challenging and that the user has to do things to make something else work or to locate something. I genuinely love this game and it’s great to have finally been able to download it. The ending was a bombshell!!! I literally cried when I couldn’t do any more and that I had completed it and the credits were rolling! Insane! But just goes to show that there will be another instalment I hope! Fingers crossed?! The animation, the incredible attention to detail, the mind twisting puzzles, the story, everything about it made me fall in love at first sight. There is clearly a lot of effort and care put into these games and I can’t wait to see more. Another small thing I enjoy about these games is that the first hint is just a slight nudge towards the right place to look and not outright giving you the answer. ✓ Never want it to endJust completed this. What a phenomenal game. The developers have put great effort into this, building upon the first game. I have no objective criticisms. I personally wasn’t into the puzzle that imitates a Rubik’s cube (I similarly disliked the sliding tile puzzle in the first game), but that’s me. The rest was enjoyably challenging and glitch free. ✓ CH2 way better than CH1I was not a big fan of HoDV 1. I felt there was little logic to many of the tasks that left you guessing or trying things out of hope rather than by design. Chapter 2 has solved all the problems of Ch 1. There is a logical progress, you can see the overall objective to chapters even if it is not simple to get there. Puzzles work well and make you think. ✓ Fun puzzles, some bugsThe puzzles are fun and challenging for the most part and there’s a lot of gameplay for the money. But there were places in the game where puzzles failed to cooperate and I had to restart to get them working again. The two places that come to mind are the pinball game (it didn’t give me a new ball). And the game in the second to the last room that’s like a giant lock. You have to move the pieces laterally and at one point they wouldn’t budge. I restarted the game several times to get it working again. Also, though the graphic are beautiful for the most part, there are places that could have used more care. For instance, you could see seams in the hedges..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Lovely and engrossingUpdating my review as the glitch resolved itself after I restarted the chapter a second time. This was great fun overall, with lots of satisfying mechanisms and secret codes. The cutscenes are an interesting touch, especially the ones involving Da Vinci, although they were a bit long in some places. I found the gameplay mostly satisfying, although sometimes the lack of a 360 view felt limiting. I was really enjoying this and ready to give it five stars, but after making it all the way to chapter 5 I’ve hit a game-breaking glitch and can’t go any further. (Puzzle spoiler) I was pushing the ruby through the maze and turning the disks on the desk to line up the track when I had to put the game down for a while. When I came back, the disks on the desk had stopped having any effect on the ones in the picture. Once or twice one of them worked, but then they stopped again. The red circles in the picture just aren’t moving. My iPad is up to date, and I even tried restarting the whole chapter, which took a lot of time, but no luck. ✓ GlitchI have enjoyed the game so far until I came to the table. I had to look online for a walkthrough to see if I was doing something wrong, and the mechanism that is supposed to go into the leg of the table won’t go there. I have the pieces together correctly but there is a glitch in the game. I got a new iPad Pro 11 inch so I thought I would buy a game and I never spend money for a game but I wanted to check out the graphics on it. ✓ Great gameThis game is awesome. it is similar to the room series by fireproof games. I love immersive games. The only thing I would say is the animation speed. It’s a bit slow. But if you have an item you can skip the animation by quickly tapping on the item then tap the “X” Story ended a bit abruptly. you should make an epic version. One game with the entire story. ✓ So sad it’s over!!!!I loved every moment of this sequel. There were times I over complicated things and got stuck but if I just set my phone down for a bit I could return with a fresh perspective. ✓ Top tier!I love escape games, and I regret there aren’t more of them out there. But I’m grateful for this one and its predecessor. There’s nothing to be disappointed about; it’s worth every penny! Such high quality in graphics, storyline, voice acting, and, one of my favorite features, music. The puzzles get progressively more difficult as you go through the game, which is at it should be. ✓ Stuck behind doorLove your games, honestly, great fun after only 30 mins of playing..... This time though I have difficulty controlling the doors. Third door that I find very hard to open. It took me 5 mins last door I unlocked to push or pull open. Now instead of opening it the whole screen moves up/down, left/right. Very hard to control this time on the iphone. ✓ Truly brilliant gameGreat graphics and puzzles pitched just at the right level. Did it in just over 15-hours with no clues, other than on one occasion. Quite chuffed about that. I find if you are stuck on something, put it down and come back later. Usually dies the trick. One slight bug in the machine with the three sliders, before going through to the final room. I think it id the middle slider can occasionally get stuck and the graphics seems to lose track of it. Only happened a couple of times though and the way around it is to re-start the app. One slight improvvement would be to get rid of the poem at the end, as it seemed slightly pointless to me. The puzzles are very well done and the addition of characters and dialogue only add to the game and get you even more immersed. Anxiously waiting for the next in this series to be released. I liked where it took you back into the game for a moment before it was all over. You should consider offering an extended versions for $6.99 along with the standard version for $4.99. ✓ Cutting outI loved the first game and was great to download Version 2 especially in lockdown. All was going well until Level 5 (I Think) it keeps crashing and I-have no idea why. New iPad loads of memory - anyone any ideas as its getting really frustrating. Update. Have reloaded twice on IPad and fingers crossed it seems to be working so far. ✓ Flawed but beautifulYou certainly get a big chunk of game time for your money. And graphically it's a triumph. However, whether through familiarity with the first game and The Room series, it can feel a bit plodding in stretches. Find item, put in slot, mechanical device whirs to reveal item, ad nauseam. And there are far too many parts where, rather than using brainpower, you are reduced to randomly jabbing around the darkened screen hoping it will zoom in to reveal a hidden area of interest. Good to occupy you for 10-12 hours at least - but whereas The Room felt ingenious and testing, this feels strung out and mechanical, often feeling more like trial and error than proper puzzle-solving. For all that, I'd still recommend it to completist fans of the genre - but oddly enough, condensing it and giving us less might have made it a more focused and enjoyable experience where the gameplay sparkled as much as the polished presentation. Voice acting was also a bit off, plot seemed to veer off to nowhere halfway through, with a limp non-ending, and Leonardo was annoyingly useless!.Version: 1.0.9

Long awaited it was, even though it has great depth, as in its not over too quickly like so many others, but something this good is always over too quickly. Keep them coming ASAP please, but not at the expense of quality. Enjoying going back now and piecing it together with the first one. I have only this feedback.. The voice over couldn’t sound more like it’s read word by word from a script without punctuation, spoken without any expression in the context like a Siri bot, but it’s a fixed script. Totally worth doing better. I wouldn’t take away stars for it or anything but it had to stress the value in the characters engagement and authenticity to be convincing.. especially Leonardo DaVinchi. ✓ Love This Game, But ...I have purchased all the Blue Brain games because I absolutely love the detail and the story lines in bot daVinci games. I hope there others in development because I will be looking for them. The big disappointment for me in this game is that, regardless of anything I do I simply cannot get the mechanism with a handle to insert into the slot on the extended table leg. I am basically stuck and I cannot go anywhere from here. I even located a walkthrough to see if I had done something wrong or had not done something but I have done everything I need to do at this point. ✓ Good game!Updated... after writing the below review, I went back into the game to take one more look and it had reverted back to the beginning of the maze game. I was able to finish the game. So I have updated it to five stars because this is an amazing game. This was an awesome game up to the point where a glitch stopped me dead in my tracks. Hopefully there will be a fix for this!? I am in chapter 5, at the library. took the hidden elevator up to the hidden room. When I put the book on the lectern on the desk after opening the lectern, I managed to shoot two marbles through the maze. When I went to shoot the third marble into the maze and moved the switch once, the marble disappeared and it didn’t pop back over to the spring for me to try again. Please please fix this so I can continue the game :-(. If it’s fixed, I’ll change this to five stars because that is what this game is worth without the glitch..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Incredible SequelLike many of you, I started puzzle escape room games with Fireproof’s The Room. I was skeptical about The House of Da Vinci but after a couple years of craving a new puzzle escape room I caved and got the first and second apps. I must say, while I’m only partway through The House of Da Vinci II I am blown away! They tweaked some elements that were unsavory in the first installment and added new dimensions that are incredible. The craftsmanship, the planning, the attention to detail, and the storytelling are all superb. I couldn’t recommend this more highly! Five stars! ✓ Puzzles great, cut scenes awfulThe puzzles, which are the main part of the game, are great. Challenging and varied but not too difficult. Generally I found if I got stuck I’d find the solution after I put the game down and came back to it a little later. The cut scenes though are awful. Poorly animated with bad voice acting. Especially the final tiresome dirge of a “poem”. What a dreadful anticlimax to an otherwise great game. Terrible writing, badly orated, far, far too long with no apparent way to fast forward through it. Suggestion: there is so much rich history (both real and fantasy), focusing on the real- I wonder if it’d be possible to have access to the book outside of the game with links to google scholar or Wikipedia articles (vetted stuff) so one could dive deeper into the history that lays foundation for the story, the history behind the types of puzzles, or academics who have devoted their lives to the study of the games elements and nuances. ✓ Better than the first!I enjoyed the first in this series, but some of the janky puzzle mechanics and the buggy behaviour of the eye piece were frustrating. Happy to say that this version improves on all of those problems. While much of this game is still a scavenger hunt — discover a random thingy here... use it in some obscure way over there — the puzzles do a better job of following the story line, and a few of the puzzles — especially towards the end — are fairly difficult to solve. I also found that while the puzzle difficulty was higher in this second instalment, I didn’t need to rely on hints anywhere near as often as the first one. In the first one scavenger items were just really difficult to find, and in more than a few instances I needed a hint to point me where to look. That, thankfully, has been curtailed in the second version, and I think I only needed to use a hint twice in the game (and the second time I was annoyed that I didn’t find the item on my own, as if was not in an obscure location). All in all, both are fun to play, but part two is better than part one and certainly worth your time and purchase. Looking forward to a part three!!.Version: 1.0.9
✓ Extremely satisfying to play!!I’m a huge fan of games such as Myst, The Room series, and the Rusty Lake series. House of Da Vinci II was extremely enjoyable, and far outpaces the first, in my opinion! The game play was very satisfying, with wonderful variety, a great combo of challenging to easy puzzles keeping the game moving, beautiful graphics, and a delicious aesthetic. My only complaint is the sometimes irritating amounts of zoom-in and zoom-out required to navigate or to make an object work, though I eventually grew accustomed to it. The characters and storyline were a little odd (the first half is apparently a kind of prequel to House of Da Vinci I, and the second half is like the sequel. A tad confusing.) and the ending is certainly...well...the poem is a bit groan worthy and out of left field. But the puzzles were so satisfying that I truly didn’t care. ✓ Excellent!I hesitated in getting #2 since the first one was too frustrating due to vague clues. But so glad I did get #2. This was a game to be savored and not rushed through. Hated to see it end. Puzzles were fun and entertaining with only a few difficult ones. A couple tougher ones were frustrating since I thought the end result was one way when it was another. The story line was amazing as was the sound effects and music. A must to listen with headphones. The creaking of the floor and doors were eerie. The hints were welcomed as was a final hint that would help solve a difficult puzzle . But a negative was you would be in the middle of playing a puzzle and were stumped. You’d get a hint only to be told that the puzzle you were ALREADY playing could be found on a wall. Way to go Captain Obvious! Other than that, excellent game and much better than #1. ✓ Good game - rubbish endingEnjoyed this game overall but it lost a star due to the controls and the need to sometimes tap in the correct square mm to find something. The controls for quite a few of the puzzles were very annoying as a wrong swipe would change the view angle instead of the puzzle controls, and there was no need to be able to change the angle. I also quite often found myself giving up and taking a hint only to find I was looking in the right place but not tapping the exact pixel that I need to, which was very frustrating as that is not a puzzle! I also personally think this is better than “The Room” series because I think the story is easier to follow and flows from and connects to the first game. The room just always seemed to be multiple stories with a central focus, ie the null. The only thing I will say, although there was the one Easter egg with the ghost in this one. I do miss the side goal of collecting the blueprints from the first game. It didn’t need to be exactly that again but I would have liked something like that in this one too. ✓ Achievements not working?The game is fantastic. I liked it better than the first game. I took off a star due to the very long poem at the end, which I felt took too long. Also the story became hard to follow, for me anyway. How do I access achievements? My first time playing was after the latest update and I never unlocked an achievement nor do I see a menu for achievements. Edit: I found the achievement menu, it’s the star on the bottom right of the main menu. It seems I have been unlocking achievements without any notifications popping up. ✓ A bit like Mary Poppins...Practically perfect in every wayI simply adore puzzle games and discovering the room and house of da Vinci has been an absolute dream. The only disappointing thing about this was coming to the end! I am not one to normally pay for apps but this was well worth it and more. The gameplay was smooth and supported by a nice side story. I loved how you could almost look 360 in most rooms including the ceiling so you could just appreciate the surroundings and work that had gone into the game. Admittedly, I did find some of the hints a bit ambiguous but was happy not to watch ads to get them! I like to give things a go first by myself and have time to think, as I’m sure others who like these sorts of games do, so much appreciated how hints were spaced out and didn’t reveal too much straight away but gradually gave you more and more info as and when you wanted it. ✓ Filling a room shaped gapTo be clear, this borrows heavily from the room series, almost to say it's a clone with a theme. That said, it's a very very great clone. The time travel aspect was a fresh and enjoyable device for solvinb puzzles, which were excellent. The art, engine and sounds were all good as well. The only weak points were the story and the ending- the in game notebook has nothing of interest or use to add, and I think ultimateky that may be the difference when comparing against a game lie the room- which mainly tells the story with cutscenes, and the writing adds flavour. In da vinci, the story seems to be mostly told through the notebook entries, but the cutscenes don't enrich the story, it's just a transition. All in all I definitely recommend this if you are a fan of the puzzle game play like the room..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Still the bug when you open a envelopeI’ve tried contacting you before about this bug where ever possible. Ie would be helpful if you had a support link actually on the game menu in 2020. The bug is when you open an envelope on a table etc. And once you’ve read it there’s no way of continuing the game, the envelope won’t remove no matter where you swipe/tap it. I’ve restarted the chapter with no result. Also offloaded the app and reinstalled and still no result. Upon opening the game the letter is still there. When I saw the second instalment, this game, I had no reservation in buying it. There are just the right amount of hints if I did get temporarily stuck although I tried not to use the hints as like to try to solve things on my own. Great variation in settings going from mechanical box puzzles to room escapes to courtyards to cathedrals. No longer working in dimly lit rooms with clues barely visible. Camera control was still a bit wonky though. Needed hints to find that an object or area I thought was unreachable actually was but needed to be focused on from only one particular angle or position. Odd controls of not being able to turn around and backtrack through and area but had to pinch the screen to walk backwards. ✓ Incredible.It’s hard to believe this game was developed to be played on your phone as the gameplay, graphics, artwork, sound, storyline, and voice-acting lead me to feel like I was playing a console game time and time again. You can clearly see the vast amount of work and effort that went into the development of the second installment of this series. I will forever recommend it to anyone who enjoys puzzle-oriented gaming. ✓ Mechanical and detailed puzzlesThis game is a huge recommendation to those interested in moving puzzles. This puzzle game takes you through an adventure that challenges you every minute you spend. Most of the puzzles require you to move around between rooms, grabbing objects, adjusting pieces, seeing mechanical x rays. Other have smaller spaces, but don’t let this take you for a fool. These small spaces make up the lack of movement with dozens of challenging puzzles that hide in plain sight. This game does include hints, incase you get stuck at any puzzle. The hints do lead you in the right direction but never gives away locations or answers. The hints can sometimes confuse the player but only to cause the player to have mindful thinking. ✓ A Winner!I have been watching for this game for a while. It is a fascinating and entertaining mix of great graphics, puzzles, and story line. It still hasn’t appeared in Apple’s “New Games We Love” section which is an indication of how good it really is. If you check out Apple's list you’ll probably wonder, as I did, who the “we” are. I love the game but the writing is difficult to read, so I have gone into the settings menu on my iPod, then Selected ‘General’ then ‘Zoom’ and now I can zoom in on the small print in the game. ✓ DarkI understand the other comments about the continuity. To me, it seemed the chapters were created by different groups. Different styles. I do have a problem starting in the abbots room. It’s dark. I turn my brightness way up and It still feels like it’s more of a hidden object challenge. The hints are great, but don’t work so well when I’ve poked, flipped, opened and closed every possible item a few times. “Go back and turn left,” or now “turn the lever right” doesn’t work anymore after I’ve reset every other piece in the room. ✓ Absolutely amazing!*SPOILER ALERT FOR THE ENDING* After playing the first DaVinci game, I didn’t think I’d be coming back for the second. But I did and I’m glad that I did. This one has a better storyline and doesn’t leave you questioning who anyone is, why certain things are happening, and questions that I had in the first game were answered in this one. The only problem I had is the cliffhanger in the end. Does it all end when Giacomo gets lost in time? Where did DaVinci go? ✓ Brilliant gameI was so excited to see this was available as I played the first one and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, after paying for it and downloading it I find there is the initial page with ‘select profile’ and then the words ‘synchronising’ and nothing happens. After reading that others had similar problems I updated the IOS and it works!! What an AMAZING game, as I expected, full of brilliant graphics and puzzles that are a little taxing at times, but you always have the hint button at hand. The experience is a little different to its predecessor, with the plotline playing a stronger role, but the puzzles are generally as strong and the game feels considerably longer too. The production values are very strong, the graphics are atmospheric and show great attention to detail. The only minor fault I would mention is that I wasn’t a great fan of the voice acting—it wasn’t exactly poor, I just felt it was a little bland and could have been more emotive. But this is, of course, highly subjective and it didn’t detract in the least from the abundance of cunning and challenging puzzles on offer. ✓ Enjoyable plot and good valueI enjoyed playing this game and felt the developers had worked hard to improve on HODV1. Navigation was easier, and I liked the depiction of the various rooms and the Cesare Borgia storyline - and also that it picked up the ending from HODV1, which had seemed disappointingly sudden. (This game also has a sudden ending, so I expect game 3 will continue the tale.) My main criticism with game 1 was that often there didn’t seem to be a logical sequence to the clues, but while I had a few such problems early in this game, I thought that aspect was improved and that it got better as it went on. A huge amount of time and effort has gone into making this game and it is very good value for money (I took 10.5 hours to complete it). (For a moment, I thought that I had done something wrong to make the game just...end) I’m quite impressed with the graphics and controls, all of which engulf you in a Da Vince universe. ✓ What a sequel!Well, that was the best ten hours I have spent playing a game in a long time. I chose to dip in and out over a few weeks and I am glad that I did. I simply did not want it to end. The imagination of the developers is simply out of this world and the puzzles are devilishly brilliant. After completing the first incarnation of this game with many a hint, I chose to complete this one hint-less. It is worth persevering in this respect as the satisfaction of completing it is so much greater. I love the fact it is not pay per play and I wish more developers took this approach. ✓ Must Play GameIt is a game that everyone should play and be happy to pay. The puzzles and mechanics are wonderful, the duration is good (over 8 hours) and it has decent voice narratives in it. However, it is a bit of a grind. Early on in the game there was a letter setting a task, a meeting with a stranger, a job given that must be completed as payment... there was purpose. Then all of sudden we’re swept forward years and years lead by some unknown ‘friend’ and everything will become clear (I’m not sure it did!) and what the main characters motivation was became lost. Some of the puzzles ended abruptly, for example, collect several vials and you do a puzzle for one, another puzzle for a second and then the next puzzle gives you all the remaining ones at once. Pointless. The poem at the end was awful too. The insistence of rhyming made it a bit comical and that background story has been done a million times before. ✓ Great Game!The house of DaVinci series could be considered as one of the greatest room escape games. Those of you that thinking it is a imitation of the room, I’ve played both the room (1-3 and the old sin)and house of DaVinci. I consider them both the greatest among all other room escape games, there are some similar aspect but no, house of DaVinci focus has another focus point then the room. Overall the game is reasonable, challenging. I really enjoy the sound effect and sound track, The movement however on phone need some work. Looking forward to The house of DaVinci III!.Version: 1.0.9
✓ Mix of fun and frustration… not sure if it was more fun or more frustration, thoughIt’s a good game, with some improvements from the first one, but a few things could make it even better if they do a third. Good: most of the puzzles are fun, for the most part the visuals are stunning, it was worth the price to buy as it provided many hours of entertainment over the span of a couple of days. I don’t regret the purchase and will probably buy another. The clues are also much improved from the first edition, with the exception of Chapter 6. Chapter 6 is where it fell apart a bit, in my opinion. Is it as good as the Room series? No, I don’t think so, but pretty darn close. It’s heads and tails above most of the escape room type puzzle games you can find in the App Store. Areas for improvement: 1) Too many finicky mechanical puzzles (especially Chapter 6… the Rubik’s cube one for example) that required too much fiddling for way too long, for very little payoff. Even when you knew the answer and knew exactly what you had to do, the execution of it stumped me. If not for YouTube and a few well written cheats, I would have deleted the game before getting to the end because I had hit too many blockers in the last chapter that I was never going to execute on my own. If there had been only one or two, it would have been find, but Chapter 6 it was just one after another after another where you were like, “seriously? Again?” I don’t enjoy a puzzle where I’ve solved it mentally but now it comes down to basic mechanics that I just can’t get the right movements for. Not fun at all, really needed a way past those ones when I’d spent so much time on it already and was getting nowhere. 2) The “story” was too long and draggy at times… so much ‘talking’ for absolutely no reason and honestly, I couldn’t follow half of it anyways so I didn’t really care. No way to skip the very long and uninteresting story at the end, I still don’t know what the point of it was other than to irritate because I couldn’t just skip and read the words like I could in most of the other places where there was so much talking. 3) Clues. Much better than the first game, but sorely lacking later in the game. My biggest gripe is that many times it’s describing things like “look at the whatchamacallit over by the thingamabob” and assumes the player knows what a whatchmacallit and a thingamabob are, but nowhere does it ever tell you “this is a whatchamacallit” so when the clue is referencing it like that, it means absolutely nothing to me. 4) Some visuals… again, much improved from the first game, but a few spots in the game, it was too busy or I thought I was looking at a dead end and it turned out it was a corner that didn’t look like a corner, or things like that. Not nearly as many places like this as in the first, but a few places where I was totally stumped because I could not tell what I was looking at and turned out it wasn’t a bench, it was a corner, or something like that. OVERALL: Worth buying, no regrets, but I could not have gotten to the end of the game without some walk throughs on the internet and someone actually providing me the solution to solve of the puzzles in the form of, “click up twice, left once, down, etc.” so I could actually move on..Version: 1.0.9
