MyPhonak for Negative User Reviews

Shame on all of you!My mom is 90 years old. Ninety. She’s half way through her warranty on her phonak hearing aids and was doing just fine on the old app. Now: completely unusable. We spoke directly to Phonak consumer line to say hey, features and functions in her user manual that she used are no longer available in this new app! We were told too bad, you have to make it work. That was it. Do you have any idea how hard it is for older people to have to get out of the app, relaunch it, try to get it connects to both hearing aida via the app is?! Shame on you! Was there no user testing? Like REAL older users? She thinks she has to get new hearing aids after spending several thousand dollars on yours just 18 months ago. Ya ya follow the link and share what’s wrong. What’s wrong is clearly outlined in other reviews plus you just decided to eliminate functionality that was sold to her and that she used every day to be able to function in different environments!!!!! She lives independently but this change has left her dependent and defeated. Please please fix this!!!.Version: 6.2.2

Not WorkingI have a IPhone 11, followed every single instructions to pair my new hearing aids as recommended from the audiology. This app either broken or pointless. All it does it “searching” and that’s it. Pointless !.Version: 3.0.6

Awful updateI’ve only had my hearing aids for 3 months and I’ve been very happy with the ability to put my own programmes in the App. But there as been an update to the app and the Bluetooth connections keep dropping every 5 minutes so that you get a Connection Failed all the time. Then I have to go to my settings and reconnect the hearing aids one at a time. Then 5 mins later they are gone again. This is totally unacceptable. I work in multiple environments and without the Bluetooth I can’t change to the programmes I have made for each individual setting. I’ve paid a lot of money for the best aids I could get but the App is the worst I’ve ever encountered. Please SORT IT OUT and give us a decent App … we all deserve it.Version: 6.3.0

PhonakI am overall happy with the ability to hear with my new hearing aids however I do have some issues with the app..Version: 6.5.1

Works sometimesI often have to reboot my iPhone before the app will work. Apart from that, it is great..Version: 6.6.0

MyPhonak app needs workI’m just trying out new phonak hearing aids and they work fine. However, the app is very basic and is really only good for adjusting the program and the level of sound. Unfortunately, you continue to hear all system sounds from your from your phone, like an email coming in, or a text message coming in. Even with the sound levels turned way down these beeps are very loud and there’s no way to turn them off when you are connected by Bluetooth to your phone. You need this connection to make phone calls through the hearing aids..Version: 6.5.1

Hard to connect aids to iPhone with BluetoothVery hap hazard - have to switch aids off to on to connect but even then it might only select L or R but rarely both. Repeat over and over then give up. The same problem when paired with the phonak TV adapter. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the clarity but it’s hard to connect to the APP so unable to micro adjust the surrounding ambient speech with the TV Volume which means someone talking right next to you sounds faint. I contacted PHONAK directly 12 months ago about all these problems with the APP but they wouldn’t correspond directly and referred me to my hearing aid dispenser who don’t know. Poor customer service..Version: 6.5.0

New things to input.Have been wearing hearing aids for over 30 years, the advancement in tech has been unreal. This app could use a few more features, like being able to adjust the default mode so you don’t have to keep changing the settings every time you wake up. Also the app doesn’t stream any music or audiobooks to the hearing aids either, matter of fact it streams nothing..Version: 6.6.0

PhonakI have had this phonak for a year or more and still not being able to enjoy the step counter and the rest doesn’t stay logged on Plus quite a few adjustments To the hearing function Thanks Sara.Version: 6.5.1

IPhone Compatibility Is LackingMy complaints mirror those of many of the other negative reviewers. I am unable to save any custom changes I make and the customer service rep was absolutely no help. Recently when traveling in my car, I made a temporary change to decrease the volume for my left ear to decrease the road noise nearest the window. Every ten minutes it would switch back to full volume. There is nothing set in my phone with that time limit. Another big annoyance is whenever I pass within Bluetooth range of the TV Connector device, the hearing aids give an alarm tone and sometimes switches programs. I concur that the app developers expertise is severely lacking with iOS experience. This degrades the overall quality of an otherwise excellent hearing aid..Version: 6.1.0

App totally unreliable nowNothing but problems since app updated. If I had a choice, I would change my aids to another make but I only upgraded them last year. Among other problems, the app doesn’t record the charge correctly. I’ve had my aids in for a few hours, but it still said 99% charged. I deleted the app and re-installed (as I have done many times), and it now says 70% full! I can’t rely on it. Bluetooth connection also iffy. I have contacted Customer Services, they told me there are no known bugs in the app. That’s not what most of the recent reviews reflect. Come on Phonak, get this app sorted. It’s giving your good hearing aids a bad name..Version: 6.2.0

I too dislike this appI have had ny Phonak aids for 2.5 years and the app that came with it served me perfectly. Suddenly the app is deleted and repaced with inferior software. This should have been beta tested before general distribution. I would love if the old app (the “classic”) could be made available. I have previously listed my complaints and no one even acknowledged their receipt. I am now having trouble pairing with my iPhone.. Never had connection problems with the old app. New problem: The aids just came out of the charger, and bright green. The iPhone app with myphonak reports a charge level of 25% for the left and 45% for the right. The president with this buggy app will lead me to another brand. So unprofessional. So many bells and whistles but it can’t stably control the hearing aids..Version: 6.2.1

New Phonak is terribleTakes over 5 minutes to connect on a good day. Old program was less than 5 seconds. This new program is basically useless in the daily usage. Cant wait to het mew hearing aids from a different manufacturer.Version: 6.5.1

Results of my trialWhat a night mare this app/hearing aid is! The hearing aid may be great but I spend so much time struggling with the poor app and poor functionality. -they won’t stay connected (my nhs ones do!) -they will not reliably automatically reconnect I have to keep turning hearing aids on and off (NHS ones do) and Yes I have selected stay connected. -they take ages to connect to the app! But the phone says both left and right are connected and the audio is connected and the says “it’s going to to take a while” which actually means maybe not at all. (Not so the NHS) -phone calls vary some times rings in my ears, some times not, some times I answers and the connection switches from ears to the phone. -you can’t keep your settings for music play back and you can’t access the base, mid or treble you can’t set the volume or the noise cancelling without it reverting back each time!! -you can’t adjust the auto settings at all. You can only save to manual settings. If you adjust volume on one side and the base, treble or mid or adjust noise cancelling the app just reverts back default on any event e.g incoming call. Worse it prompts you to save “auto” then tells you, you can’t! -it seams to be generally unstable with random disconnections resetting all user setting back to default..Version: 6.5.1

Worse than previous versionThis app continually freezes. The old one didn’t look as good but at least it did the basics.Version: 6.2.0

HopelessI have had nothing but problems with these aids can’t wait until end of month when I can choose hopefully much better ones.Version: 6.5.1

Dark mode and staying connectedHow does one switch between dark mode and normal? Dark mode does not display indicator lines on volume control. Stay connected feature doesn’t seem to make any difference if it’s set to ON. Still have to wait for connection. Still no Apple Watch option..Version: 6.5.0

Not so convenientHave been with Phonak for many years and got the latest devices that they claim to be the most sophisticated! Yet more often than not I can’t connect to the App or even adjust the volume on the devices manually! App is really hopeless! Need to delete it and reinstall it again and again to get it connected to the devices!.Version: 6.3.0

PhonacActual aids fine. All electronic peripherals terrible and very, highly unreliable..Version: 6.5.0

Love - Hate RelationshipRating is for the app and not the aids. The aids and feature are 5 stars to me. My first pair of aids so I don’t have anything to compare them to. I did find a great audiologist that I drive 45 min to see. Inman Audioligy in Troy, MI is the best. The app is well, horrible. I know the first job is the aids working reliably but the app interface is where you spend a lot of your time so its rated higher. Think infotainment system in a car. One of the top reasons why people choose a car. Most won’t even consider a car with a crappy system. One of the main reasons I chose these is bluetooth pairing to multiple devices. I have my phone and (2) pc’s I work with and they are paired to. You can only be connected to two at a time. It would be nice to have the ability in the app to select what device you are currently connected to so you can switch back and forth without having to locate the other device, open settings, goto Bluetooth and either turn it off or disconnect the aids. Cheers everyone..Version: 6.4.1

Wearing time and steps not workingWearing time doesn’t seem to be right I ALWAYS use both hearing aids every day and some days doesn’t get logged, some only log the left hearing aid, sometimes both.. doesn’t seem to be consistent. Also the daily steps follow the same line, sometimes no logs at all, sometimes it reports a lot less steps. Are we supposed to do anything about it? Also I would like to suggest an improvement regarding the tap control: It’s a great thing however it’s very annoying when on a call it can just end the call without notice for some reason, happened yesterday, call dropped 2 times. I guess it stopped streaming then ended the call? the tap control is on the firm config..Version: 6.7.0

New appAgree with the others, did not want to give a one star rating but cannot get rid of it. I removed my old version from my IPad, got Bluetooth to forget my two hearing aids and down loaded the new app. All went smoothly, the app recognised my hearing aids. Bluetooth showed the hearing aids not connected. It then would not make a connection. I have tried for hours with no success. Bring back the last version at least it worked and there is no obvious improvement in what little I can see in the new version. Maybe it was just produced for the health adverts that are a waste of my time. Chris B.Version: 6.1.0

Worse than everNow it won't connect at all. Last version would connect, this one nope..Version: 6.5.1

ChargerSometimes one aid not fully charged overnight. Need service? Otherwise very satisfied with performance..Version: 6.5.1

XHmm. Need to reload every time I use this app?.Version: 6.6.0

NoiseI’m a senior and it’s hard to remember everything and all this techno stuff is crazy. I got my new hearing aids and if I adjust to hear people speak then the background noise is insane. These are extremely expensive especially on pension and I don’t like wearing them bead all the noise, even if I’m alone and reading my book all I hear is noise that sounds like wind, if I turn off or reduce the background noise that’s even worse. I HATE THEM. I should have saved the $6400.00 charged ( over priced as everything else)..Version: 6.6.0

APL not workingThe app keeps stop functioning of no particular reason which is really annoying.Version: 6.5.1

Versatility User FriendlyFor over 10 years I’ve need hearing aids. These Phonak Aids have only one redeeming quality and that with listening to music. Otherwise the frustration they impose with connection of App to aids is deplorable. At crucial moments when in a medical procedure I shouldn’t have to wait up to a minute to adjust. Simple because there had been extra surrounding noise that now drown out the doctors voice. Despite numerous visit to audiologist we exhausted our options to this and other subjects! If I’m in a temporary situation and want to make adjustments and the return to volume control I’m forced to save it, why?,,, it temporary. Even if I save it, in a day or so all the favorites I’ve created are deleted spontaneously! Why ! Never again with these !!.Version: 6.5.1

Worst app ever!Whatever you look at for hearing aids Phonak is the worst ever! Phonak hearing Aids are sooo expensive and so not worth the money. Frustrating! Have such a hard and difficult time to pair both, have followed all instructions but they just don’t work. In the two years I have had them they have been to manufacturers about 5 times and they won’t replace them. A real rip off!!! 10k plus down the drain!.Version: 6.4.1

TV soundI still struggle with tv. My smart tv won’t let me us Bluetooth while someone else is listening to real volume. So I still struggle. The tv setting helps a bit, but it’s not great. I preferred the phonak necklace for the television..Version: 6.6.0

Keeps crashingVery frustrating. Keeps deleting any personal programs i set up. Now having some serious connection issues. App won’t connect to hearing aids without doing it a few times or completely resetting everything..Version: 6.3.0

Extremely poor effortDefinitely one of the most poorest apps on the App Store Bluetooth is very hard and clunky. Very hard to connect to have to delete everything and restart again. It needs of lot of refinement probably just dump it start again.Version: 6.4.0

Hearing aid and phoneKeep switching back and forth bet the two Frustrations.Version: 6.6.0

Doesn’t do what it saysSaved ptofiles disappear No steps tracking and other just hours worn an adjustable programs that you can’t save Very unstable.Version: 6.6.0

Unable to connect for more than 12 monthsI have a cros system set up with Phonak paradise p90. My audiologist 12 months told me Phonak were working on the app being compatible and likely a month or two. I note a reply by Phonak on here 6 months ago that they were working in it. So now I have had the aids more than 12 months and not been able to use the app functionality. I’m sure it’s not the app teams fault. I imagine it’s just 2 people. One replying to all the complaints, the other furiously trying to fix all the bugs. I have been loyal to Phonak for about 15 years, but they need to realise that this useless app is losing them customers and reputation..Version: 6.2.3

New appI can not even get both aids connected to be able to review. Worse, I can not get back to the old one that worked.Version: 6.1.0

New update buggyDisappointed. App update should send a notification that it’s required. Had problems with my aids, only to discover the app had automatically updated and was logged out. On login and repairing, one aid struggled to connect over and again, on both phones. And can only have one phone paired at a time..Version: 6.4.0

Terrible appI have to agree with the previous comment. The update app is rubbish…I can’t get my hearing aids to connect. I guess I’m going to have to do the same and keep deleting and reinstalling the app until it works. Not really what you’d expect from a premium product. Not a happy bunny, in fact quite the opposite! No problems previously 😡 I have now deleted and reinstalled the app a couple of times and it’s finally working. Shame though that it doesn’t do the same as my husbands Paradise hearing aids as he gets more on the health app than I do. I have the Marvel Audeo M90 hearing aids..Version: 6.2.0

No Apple Watch connectionUpdate: I am changing this to one star. Trying to use the app to make any adjustments is constantly frustrating. It won’t connect without Internet ‘the first time’? I have to remember to connect them to the app every morning before I leave the house. I have had them for three months. I wish I could return them and research what company has a better user interface. I don’t understand why this is hard. Apple should make hearing aids and save us all from the companies that don’t put priority on user satisfaction. Maybe I expect more because I’m 42? I’m very happy with my Audeo Lumity. I like being able to get them adjusted through the app during a video appointment. The app takes a very long time to connect and does not have any Apple Watch functionality. So, when I’m in a loud restaurant or crowded reception and I’m struggling, I have to take out my phone and wait sometimes a full minute to adjust the settings when they do not adjust automatically. How embarrassing to stop a conversation because I can’t hear. No one can see I have hearings aids under my long hair so it is very disruptive to need to adjust them from my phone and then the app disconnects and reconnects constantly. For the price point I expect a better user interface..Version: 6.4.0

My PhonakNow I understand why they have less than a 2 star review! Customer support was mean and condescending, and ultimately, was no help. Apparently, the app has been “updated”, leaving it worse than before. My audiologist couldn’t help, nor could my Customer Service representative. Also, their response time is extremely slow. I called at noon on a Tuesday and they never called back. I called early on Wednesday, and they did call back within an hour. Unfortunately, the problem connecting my app to my phone was not fixed. Now, I have another call into them, still waiting to hear back. **Trying to rate this app, I need a nickname. Every nickname I enter has been taken. Tells me that this company doesn’t want to hear from me!.Version: 6.3.0

No Apple Watch connectivityHi Guys, pretty disappointed pay premium price on Lumity L RL with NO telecoil and no Apple Watch connection…… really! Watch is used by your competitors as l had it with 6 yr old Oticon mini rite one! Talk me through it l am using the Trial version from Audio Clinic however l can still take them back and go with octicon More that are cheaper and with telecoil and l am buying top of the range Phonak lumity RL P90 llife with NO Telecoil or Watch features!!!! Really disappointed..Version: 6.2.3

Waste of my timeThe App connects to both aids but then only shows either left or right connected in the settings section. Whatever I do it won’t show both connected at the same time on the settings screen. I recently had the right aid internals completely replaced. The left aid then had 3 faults and was away for 10 days having the internals replaced. That’s 10 days barely hearing anything and Boots do not offer a temporary replacement. Immediately on receiving the repaired left aid the rechargeable battery developed a fault and wouldn’t hold charge. Eventually I got an appointment with the audiologist and told it would be away for at least 3 weeks so virtually no hearing over Christmas into January. No temporary aid available or offered. Really fed up of Phonak now and will look at other makes. Really poor when spending £3000 on a pair..Version: 6.2.3

My Phonak not any goodRe loaded App but not working with iPhone Tried everything suggested with no results Waste of time 😡.Version: 6.5.1

Music frustrationI have IPhone 14 and when I’m listening to music with WIFI and walking around with phone in pocket, all great. Soon as I leave WIFI music goes on and off to a level so irritating I turn it off.Version: 6.5.1

Battery life reduced by streamingMy app has undergone an upgrade and things have changed. I have the settings on automatic and when a phone call comes in it used to switch to Bluetooth streaming and mic. Then it used to switch back to automatic. Now it does not switch back. The issue is that sitting on Bluetooth it uses massive amounts of power and I only get 10-11 hours use where credit I would get about 16-18. Recharge you say. … Nice if you are out and about - not practical..Version: 6.6.0

Not a great app.I’ve been using the Phonak app since 14 months ago. I’m really happy with my hearing aids and the ability to Bluetooth to my tv, phone, etc. But driving me CRAZY is the fact that when I end a phone call or switch off dictation on my iPhone 14, the app changes my automatic volume setting. The volume in my left aid goes up to zero when I’ve set it to -2. Sometimes the app just seems to do this automatically. It’s really distracting, for instance, when I’m driving and can’t adjust it. Please, please help me with an effective solution..Version: 6.6.0

This version is BuggyThis new version was automatically installed to replace the previous version with pairing to my hearing aids lost. I followed the posted directions to pair my hearing aids to the new app. All goes well to the point where both left and right hearing aids are displayed to connect. I can only select one or the other. As soon as I select one it goes off and pair but I cannot return to pair the other one. I have repeated the process several times and I can pair only one hearing aid; either the left one or the right one but never both. Another gripe I have is that there are 3 paired connections: 2 for control and 1 for streaming. They are cryptically labeled. I think better labeling or explanation of their purposes would help users understanding..Version: 6.1.0

Sonova seems to turn a “deaf ear” when it comes to this lame app!I am really sick of having to constantly uninstall and reinstall this crap software when it freezes up. Look at the ratings chart. It looks like someone flipped it upside down! Is there any excuse for this software to be such a failure? It’s not even that complex. Don’t rattle my chain by even mentioning the intrusive attempt for Sonova to take a hand in my health care! Many people claim this isn’t such a big issue since you have some control using the buttons on your aids. Well, I consider this app to be a necessary adjunct to these $6,000 aids! It’s not just an add-on. Good as my P-90s are, when they fail I’ll be looking elsewhere for my next devices. Sonova is doing NOTHING to gain my loyalty in a highly competitive arena..Version: 6.1.0

Problems with TV LinkThis gadget seems to have a mind if it’s own. Every so often it does not link to my hearing aid. I have a bi-cross and 2 TV links. Both do not work. This happened once before. Next morning it was working fine. The hearing specialist spent very little time explaining the program. May be I did something on the program. My wife wanted to say something and I wanted to mute the TV link from the cell. I do not know if you can do it and nobody has shown me. I am 73 and not hot with Apps. I have UBER and yours. Help Help Help.Version: 6.6.0

Totally inconsistentNot sure what has happened with the app - it used to work really well but it seems to have got worse and worse over the last few months. It seems not to work at all away from home wifi - failing to connect to paired hearing aids and having to be deleted and reinstalled to get a connection and then after a while it all happens again. Any attempt to change settings away from automatic makes it stop working again and it just doesn’t seem to work properly. It used to be a really useful app but now I find it useless for anything meaningful. I use an iPhone by the way. I have no idea what the developers are doing but they seem to make it worse with every update.Version: 6.3.0

Not user friendlyToo complicated and do not save settings. Requires adjustment every time they are removed from charger..Version: 6.5.1

Disappointing updated appThe app creators probably don’t use this product! Because the funtionality didn’t change - just the fluff. There’s more information on user forums on how fix typical app & hearg-aid unit issues that aren’t addressed in the app support feature. For example: you acquire a new right hearing aid unit. The app’s functionality can’t help you resync the pairing of both aids for streaming to both ear units. The app support faq’s do not address this particular and inevitable problem that most all users will experience - and this issue is predominant throughout all Audeo’ users or will be if you require replacing the R-Phonak unit! This has happened 3 times over the past 3 years. That is why these units are ‘for sale’ moreso than the other user-friendly competitors. My Phonak friends were disappointed also. A suggestion: have your app creators get a pair of Phonaks and use them for a year. Then replace the R-Phonak unit. Give them to a six grader to sync and pair for streaming & hands-free cellphone use. Come back and redesign the app instead of adding more fluff! Maybe redesign the charger unit to do these funtions automatically into the cellphone for setup using a non-blutooth accessibility option. ( blutooth is 30 year-old technology! ) My technical background qualify me to make this review..Version: 6.4.1

Love the aids, dislike the appFirst of all connecting is a challenge. My left aid connects easily, but my right does not. Probably because the Bluetooth for my phone is already connected to the right. Once in the app I want to adjust the programs, which is easy, however they never default to the new program. Another issue is when the app is used it seems to always deaden the sound in my ears regardless of the program. Need to turn off and back on. Finally, the program REALLY needs to include a feature that cancels background noise when talking on the phone. Anyone on the other end can hear everything going on around me and there is no way to adjust that. I’m an executive at a company and need to take called on my phone so I have to choose to either use my phonaks or or shut them off. It’s really hard to hear when I can’t use my expensive devices and it causes a lot of stress. This should be a priority..Version: 6.6.0

Keeps losing my profilesA good app, but it keeps losing my profiles that I set up for specific situations. Very frustrating..Version: 6.2.3

P90 up purchaseLooking at the reviews on the app I’m re considering the purchase of the aids from Hearing Australia as we wanted a simple use of the devices Currently have Siemens aids and the app is a disaster as well So going to have to do more research on other brands.Version: 6.2.3

RosaCan you please fix your app! It constantly loses connection to the hearing aids. For something that it is worth so much money this is unacceptable. I have the hearing aids for less than a year and issue of connection happens all the time! I am a frustrated customer. The worst app I have!.Version: 6.5.1

It works, but auto switches and loses settings.Recently discovered after 3 years of owning a pair of Audeo M hearing aids that there have been updates to the aids, which my previous provider had never informed me about. My new provider has set up the the aids and phone so there’s several different default profiles that can be set. Even more importantly, these default profiles can have various parameters changed (front focus, loudness, what kind of thing one is listening to, noise cancelling, etc) and the result saved for future use. Which would be great except, after making customized profiles and saving them to new names, after a couple of days the new profiles up and disappear off the myPhonak app. Meaning that I have to recreate them, which works until they disappear again. Don’t know why it’s doing this, but it’s a pain..Version: 6.5.0

Totally useless after latest updateIn this latest update (10/22), have lost all ability to make personal adjustments or custom programs apart from adjusting volume which you don’t need an app for. I want to be able to revert back to previous version..Version: 6.2.2

Phonak app was very disappointingAll the reviews here that are in positive area are from paid people - developers or seller etc- users like me are disappointed surly it can be made to stop going back the clinicians setting (which is ok in a quiet area) when I go to a place where people are talking (meal time, restaurants, party or similar) I need to take out my new phonak hearing aids so as to hear the person across the table who is talking to me. I have tried all kinds of settings they switch off for random reasons. If you are thinking of getting these aids and software expect poor results..Version: 4.0.3

RubbishI’m not often prompted to write reviews but I’ll make an exception here. My new P70R aids are great devices, no question about that. However, most of their amazing features are accessed via the app. And this app is truly rubbish. If it connects within 2 minutes that’s a bonus. That’s if it connects at all. Programs don’t load. The app just hangs for extended periods. And this is after I’ve played the game of deleting the Bluetooth pairings with the aids, reinstalled the latest version of the app and re-paired the aids. Absolutely awful experience. I may end up returning these if my Audiologist can’t convince me that this is the best aid for my needs and I forego reasonable app functionality. Time will tell..Version: 4.0.4

If there’s been update just hasn’t workedSame problems as reported on September 19. I wasn’t fortunate enough to experience the trouble-free last gen but this one continues to be terrible. If you need connectivity for work as I do, and as promised, find another option. Unless you’re ready for the unreliability. Going into a restaurant and not being able to make adjustments until deleting uploading and pairing again. Or sitting down for a zoom call and not knowing if the call will pass through. To be fair, my audiologist and phonak have been responsive, replacing my first pair and responding to calls. These just take too much effort to connect. I can’t speak to the hearing functionality as these are my first ones and I have nothing to compare them to. But I really haven’t had any trouble getting used to them, as I was told I might, and they seem okay..Version: 6.2.2

Not improvedMuch harder to change mode and especially volume . On iPhone 13 . My arthritic fingers do not need smaller buttons …...Version: 6.1.0

To The Developers…Why???!Can you please tell me why you even give your users the false impression they can choose alternate profiles, or equally false, create their own? I have a fully updated iPhone 13 Pro running IOS 16.6. And almost without fail, (probably 98% of the time), I choose a profile “I WANT”…it doesn’t matter if it’s one of the app presets, or one I create and save myself. As soon as I close my screen, (app still running in the background), then when I reopen my screen, the app needs to re-connect to the aids (which is fine even though I don’t understand why they can’t just stay connected when the app is in the background?). But what really gets me wanting to throw these hearing aids and my phone off a bridge, is when they do reconnect, they go right back to the “Automatic” profile! Why is this? I think it’s great that you folks who are waaay smarter than I am, have created apps and devices capable of adapting to changing environments. What I can’t understand is why, when I choose a profile I want the aids to stay on…they go right back to the Automatic profile as soon as I close my screen and then reopen it! Seriously, what is the point of having ANY other profiles if the only way it’ll stay there is if the app is visible and you don’t close your screen? Just doesn’t make sense to me and is beyond frustrating..Version: 6.5.0

Return Last AppAfter 4 Install-uninstalls just to get both hearing aids to pair to the App(not the iPhone, had that earlier) then it would no longer stream or connect to phone calls. Probably rebooted my phone 4 times too. I spent way too much time on this just to be frustrated at the end. Ended up removing the App and pairing the hearing aids to my phone and it seems to be working just fine. I’ll check back to see if any updates/ improvements are made before I try again. Unlike my self who doesn’t really need the App features much, these difficulties could leave some people in situations where they can’t hear. I sure hope a little more testing on the fundamentals is done rather than being distracted by the new added on features. Thanks for listening..Version: 6.1.0

Worked great for 10 daysInitially app was great with new p90 hearing aids. Now constantly loses connection, auto on won't work, tap control won’t work. Very little help from my audiologist. Have tried the advice from Phonak, re auto on.does not work. Even if it did you would have to repeat every time you went back into the app. Not much of a fix. The other advice re tap sensitivity is irrelevant, the tap to talk does not work at all. Same situation as auto on..Version: 6.2.1

Not Very Satisfied NowI knew it was my time to get hearing aids. My audiologist recommended the Phonak Luminary (?). It has now been 4 months since I received them and yes, I could be happier but the tinnitus is a bit too much for the aids, I am adapting and through patience and diligence with the app, I have created new listening environments. Very intuitive and once a person learns the navigation, very easy to use. I have run into what I consider an issue. Under the “Health” tab at the bottom of the screen, the “Wearing Time” is not working properly. It will track the time and then all of a sudden, I see a huge disparities between the left and right devices!! I am talking many hours. It seems to get worse the longer I wear the aids during the day. In addition to this, the “Daily Steps” has a huge discrepancy when analyzed with my iPhone step counter. Can this be addressed - please?!? Thank you very much!! Greg.Version: 6.5.1

My phonackThis app would have to be the most unstable app on the market . Be prepared on average to delete and re do every 2 to 3 weeks and they don’t seem interested in upgrading. E longman.Version: 6.2.3

An Apple Watch version would be greatThe app does the basics fairly well, and it is easy to navigate. This is quite tricky for developers to achieve given the app needs to cater to a wide range of people who may use the app, so kudos to the developers. One massive improvement would be a version for the Apple Watch with the favourited programmes. I feel quite rude and embarrassed in a conversation to have to use my phone and waiting for the app to connect in order to change to a different programme. If it was on my watch it would be much more discreet..Version: 6.5.1

3/1/23 App updateThis most recent update to the app has made the app almost useless. If the app is closed, the LE connections are forcefully dropped. If you leave the app open and lock your screen, after a few minutes the connection is dropped. If you leave your screen unlocked switch to another active app (leaving Phonak app running in the background) after a few minutes the connection drops. Once dropped you have to force close the app, go to phone Bluetooth settings and manually reconnect the LE connections, then reopen the app and wait about 30 seconds for the app to see the aids. By the time you do all this you have missed what ever it was that caused you need to use the app in the first place. I have done every possible combination of rebooting phone, deleted and reinstalled app. Removed repaired aids to Bluetooth and app. When the app is open and connected, it is much faster to switch between activities, particular when briefly switching to/from Streaming sources. You have GOT to do a better job of QA testing the app before rolling out changes. We spent literally thousands of dollars on these aids, and you keep breaking basic functions via half-baked app releases. If you are not already, you need a customer beta team to use the updates in the real world for a time to catch these kinds of things..Version: 6.3.0

Poor!I really struggle to get this app doing what I want. The “Automatic” option never selects a scenario that suits me so I really do not want to use it. Unfortunately, the developers do not see fit to allow users the option to set a personal default. Every time I finish streaming something, the app returns setting to “Automatic” and I have to go into it to set a useable scenario. It is seriously frustrating and should be unnecessary. When streaming, I always want maximum ambient noise reduction but I cannot set this as a default. It always starts streaming with ambient at mid-range. Stupid! Why can I not set what suits me 99% of the time as default so I only have to go into the app and change it on a very rare occasion, instead of at the beginning of every phone call etc. After all, we’re a human and have different preferences so why am I lumbered with the preference of some random software boffin who thinks he/she knows best. A very poor app supporting a very expensive set of hearing aids. Update: I returned my Phonak hearing aids after 3 months because I could not live with this appalling app. I now have a Coselgi set which are close but not quite as good quality. However, their app works flawlessly - I can set what I want for the particular environment I’m in and there are no reversions, unlike the constant reversions of this app. So, despite a slightly inferior pair of hearing aids, they are infinitely preferable..Version: 6.4.0

InconsistentMain issues are loss of connection and saved settings. Sometimes when I put them in they won’t connect. Have to switch blue tooth off and on to reconnect. Sometimes this doesn’t solve the problem and I have to delete and reload the app. Also find that saved settings disappear when I reconnect to the app. Very frustrating, especially when trying to access the restaurant setting. End up missing out on half the conversation..Version: 6.6.0

A new App in July 2022I was happily using the old App when along came a new one. It’s great that there is a new app but it would have been nice if there had been a message (email) to explain to existing users (forewarn) what was about to happen and most importantly what users need to do so they can continue to control their hearing aids via the App. When I launched the App the other day the change came as a big surprise and I wasn't best placed (doing other things) to fully take in the various messages about the new App. I didn’t have my log in details so couldn’t log in when prompted, in fact I couldn’t actually remember if I’d ever logged in previously! Several days later when launching the App to adjust the volume on my hearing aids I find they’re not connected to the App! I then miss out on parts of a live presentation that’s already in progress! Having returned home and can concentrate on the matter in hand, I find that the only way to link my hearing aids to the App is to: delete the App and reload it, and then re-link my hearing aids by following the instructions. At some point I also logged in to the App, I have no idea whether logging in is essential or not as I can see that the App can be used without logging in..Version: 6.1.0

Apple Watch APPStill no widget for Apple Watch series 9 to be able to control volume and mute outside sounds when playing Spotify playlist so I don’t have to take iPhone out of my pocket. When opening the App while connecting to hearing aids, please move the connection successful notification away from the mute button as it takes longer to activate mute. I have requested this for a very long time. Will raise the rating up once this has been added..Version: 6.6.0

Buggy appWhy does my car program keep disappearing?.Version: 6.5.1

Baffling & FlakyBizarrely, I wear aids in both ears. Quite frequently this App would have you believe that suddenly in the middle of the day, I’ll take one out and not bother with it for a few hours. The widget, simply gives me the battery level and now, following the update of 27 February 2024, the Widget now only gives me the battery levels of yesterday (and doesn’t update) The choosing of different modes, restaurant and TV for example, is excellent - the rest of it? Meh..Version: 6.7.0

As usual no actionIf I could give it no stars I would the app has some serious issues which I have reported many times but as usual they either just pass the complaint onto someone else & do nothing. So this is my last 6th attempt so here goes. Any personal settings you make crashes with in minutes & switches back to automatic. If you receive a text or email or a message it switches back to automatic. And before you ask yes I have reset it & yes I have uninstalled & reinstalled only for the problems to start all over again. Your response is to totally ignore the fact that you have serious issues with the app that other people are also experiencing and surprise surprise again you do nothing. So why not for a change take some action and actually do something about it rather than fobbing people off..Version: 6.6.0

Was a great AppI’ve had the app now for around 4 years appx At the beginning it was great up until about 6 months ago. I’m having to delete and reinstall the app almost daily as when I check my percentage of battery power it seems to freeze. I know sometimes after wearing my aids all day I should have a certain percentage and it’s never correct. It’s frustrating as apart from that the app has worked great. Unfortunately 3stars is all I can give it would have been 5 if this problem wasn’t happening..Version: 6.5.0

Low Quality AppThe hearing aids work well but the app is terrible and has to be reloaded again and again to connect to the devices. Another great product with a low budget app..Version: 6.6.0

Pathetic..!This, without doubt, the worst app I have ever had the misfortune to use. I have deleted and reinstalled the app many, many times, and, initially it sets up satisfactorily, but after a day or so it refuses to connect to my hearing aids. (I click the “stay connected” tab). Is it because the aids lose Bluetooth contact with my mobile phone? If so, this is unworkable as it is not possible to carry my phone at all times. Is it because I turn off my aids overnight? I should not have to leave my non-rechargeable aids using battery power overnight! I purchased these aids specifically because the app sounded impressive; what a mistake! I feel I have been conned! Tony B..Version: 6.5.1

No stars is what I would give thisSo I have just upgraded my NHS hearing aids to Phonak. Mostly for the Bluetooth connectivity. I’m pretty good with Tech. I downloaded My Phonak hoping for a seamless connection…..NOPE. This app is a total fail. I can connect the Lumity hearing aids to my phone but I can use them to make calls or stream. I happened to read in another terrible review that the had connected without using the app. So I deleted the app and just connected via Bluetooth. Voila, it works. Unfortunately like this I can not use the remote control to personalise setting as you can only do this in the app. I suspect these hearing aids will be going back and I will try a different brand NOT SONAK. I’m not paying £3,500 for products where the manufacturers treat customers with such contempt. UPDATE: The following day I reinstalled the MyPhonak app and now everything appears to be working. So my advice to anyone struggling is set up the Bluetooth first make sure that is working then install the app. Still giving only one star as the instructions are abysmal. I spent hours trying to work this out and I’m tech savvy..Version: 6.2.3

UserDevices are terrific however the app is pretty poor. The app needs a huge makeover..Version: 6.5.0

The app designers really screwed up this new appI have had my hearing aid provider reset my of this app cannot solve the connection issues Bluetooth settings twice with the new app . The app still is not reliable. The app cannot keep the I phone connection with the Bluetooth I am 24 days away from another appointment with my provider to attempt to connect my hearing aids and the connection stays connected. I am forced to store my Phonak hearing aids and fire up my 8 year old Widex hearing aids . I am 80 years old and work on my ranch by myself which is 4 miles from home. For safety reasons I cannot be without access to a phone I can hear since I have severe hearing loss. So if the developers can’t solve the connection issues, it looks like I have wasted over $ 6,000 on hearing aids that are no benefit to me. James Gibson Abilene, Texas.Version: 6.1.0

My most expensive Phonak doesn’t work properly.I have problems in a group and watching TV. Phonak reps keep trying but doesn’t help. I am sick and tired of going for adjustments. This is top of the line unit. A total ripoff!.Version: 6.5.1

Worst app everThe 5 star rating was an error. I was trying to correct it to zero stars when it got accidentally submitted. It just took 15 min to connect to my iPhone 14 pro max. It disconnects and has to be reconnected every couple of days. Same problem with connecting to the iPad. I have been using this app for a couple of years and there have never been any improvements. I have contacted support but have never ever had a response. The hearing aids will not be replaced with Phonak aids..Version: 6.5.0

Phonak can do much betterIt’s interesting that I am having very similar issues as Rickus22 that posted on January 1. For the developer to suggest to turn off app sounds is not the answer. Signia, Resound have considerably better apps and turning apps off on my iPhone is not necessary on the Signia/Resound app. Unfortunately, my deadline for returning my Phonak Luminis expired after 2 months. I was going to return them for the Resound brand, but I was a few days past the deadline because I was out of town. Why can’t Phonak replace the app developer and hire someone of the Signia/Resound expertise? According to the app, you have had over 3 years to improve the app, and very little has been done to improve MyPhonak app. And no ability to control MyPhonak with my iWatch Ultra? GIVE ME A BREAK!!! I plan to get rid of these hearing aids as soon as I can afford to replace them with comparable high quality aids that have much better apps than MyPhonak. These Phonaks are excellent aids, but the app makes them worthless, as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully the app developer will respond by saying a major update is very near; but after 3 years? I seriously doubt it..Version: 6.4.1

Ruins the Phonak BrandThis app should not be a part of the Phonak hearing aid experience! I have had Phonak aides for over five years. When I had to update my aides this app came with them for more versatility. This app would be great if it would stay connected to the aides for more than two or three days of use. I have to delete then download the app over and over again every couple of days because it won’t connect to my 5 month old aides! Reconnection takes multiple opening and closing the “doors” on my aides (with brand new batteries) and they don’t connect! Even the bluetooth connection is sporadic - one connects, one doesn’t, back and forth!! I’m contacting my audiologist to request a different app, if such competition exists! Shame on Phonak for partnering with this second rate, or less, app developer !.Version: 6.4.0

Would be great if it worked properlyConnects well with my iPhone until I make a phone call. The phone tells me it is connecting but it seems to be taking ages, so I end the call thinking the other person’s phone is unreachable. Then I get a call back from the person I’ve been calling saying they have been saying hello repeatedly for about 30 seconds! Very odd, so now I just turn off Bluetooth when I want to call someone..Version: 6.5.1

Promises promisesThe hearing aids are not much use, but the app is a total waste of space. It has lost the limited functionality it had a version or two ago with spectrum adjustments, and when I make adjustments it doesn’t hold any user settings that one sets up for best results. Lack of control of audio spectrum and lack of memory for settings is inexcusable. Also my aids have been sent out for service and came back with all the old settings, no need to set up blue tooth again… suspicious! They were not serviced, smoke and mirrors at best..Version: 6.6.0

Not a great app that undermines the Phonak brandMy experience mirrors that of many recent reviews, namely the Bluetooth connectivity is hard to establish and getting streaming to work is hard, if not impossible. (iPhone 14 pro). The guides in the app do not solve problems and all roads lead to uninstalling app and Bluetooth connectivity and starting again. The web based instructions are similarly unhelpful. Hearing aids are excellent expensive pieces of technology, but product is really let down by the app. Developers- please do not paste the standard link on how to repair iPhone connections!.Version: 6.3.0

Tech support is lackingSent an email yesterday since we did the latest iOS update and the hearing aids no longer show up to be able to be attached to anything. They are paired. We turned the phone off and on. Turned the hearing aids off and on. Deleted and reinstalled the app. It still no longer works as it did. We explained this in an email with all the troubleshooting we did, to receive an email back asking us to basically turn them off and on again. Very frustrating. This happens with every iOS update. Update: If you had taken the time to read everything we tried you would have seen we did all your basic troubleshooting. We did reach out to your support as we also said here but you ignored. If I could rate zero stars for your response I would. Absolutely awful. Do not recommend..Version: 6.5.1

FrustrationI recently found this app had updated itself. I have read your support pages and watched the “how to” videos several times. I have deleted and reloaded the app several times because each time I could only pair one of my hearing aids, either one, but only the one I selected first. I am seeing my hearing technician tomorrow for his help. The earlier version did the job beautifully, this one has been totally frustrating..Version: 6.1.0

Settings on app doesn’t work when the phone screen sleeps or goes off.Settings on app doesn’t work when the phone screen sleeps or goes off. You have to keep waking the screen and reselect the saved options. It’s a hassle that should not be. Need to have the options remain functional on the hearing aid instead of relying solely upon the app on the phone. It would be okay to reopen the app to make different changes periodically to the hearing aids when needed. The hearing aids needs to maintain the same settings sent to it by the app until you need it changed and go back into the app and make different changes that needs to remain functional on the hearing aids until you go back into the app to make the necessary changes you require at the particular time..Version: 6.5.1

I hadn’t tried connecting for a while to make adjustments but when I did, two days ago, it knocked out’ my connection to my phone ( iPhone 14 Pro max). I followed all the instructions on the app and elsewhere ( have had to do before) like removing from Bluetooth, deleting and reinstalling app, rebooting phone, checking phone updated and checking settings etc. until I found a post saying it will work if app deleted and aids just loaded by the phone Bluetooth! HiI found out about this app when I was seeing one of my help assistant, and she showed me the app telling me how she can adjust the volume and whatnot in certain situations, it also somehow works if you listen to music with your hearing aids in. I thought wow, as soon as I get home I’ll download this, which I did and I replaced my hearing aid batteries and tried pressing buttons on it (although I’m not sure what they do), but it cannot connect to my hearing aids. I tried it several times, say 10 but it does not seem to be working. So when I go see her again on Friday, I shall ask her what is this issue. If that doesn’t work then this does not seem reliable and I will not be happy if the developers do not do something about it. Thanks 👍.Version: 6.3.0

New app is rubbishI had a lot of trouble connecting hearing aids to the new app it seems they have to be connected separately as opposed to just once in the old app. I then found that once I was able to connect to the new app streaming failed to work. I have now deleted the new app and the hearing aids work perfectly well albeit without the extra settings provided by the app. Can the old version please be reinstated. Why has an app that was perfectly fit for purpose been replaced by something that is totally unfit for purpose?.Version: 6.1.0

Better off without this appThe old version of the app worked fine until the latest iPhone update. After that, the app wouldn’t connect. So I followed the instructions and deleted then reinstalled the app. It connected, but Bluetooth couldn’t keep the connection. It would show Connected, but if you closed and reopened Settings it went back to Not Connected. I tried several delete / reinstalls. What worked best was to dump the app entirely. Bluetooth works fine without it, and that’s much more important to me..Version: 6.4.1

App is terribly inconsistentHearing aids are good. If you want to use the hearing aids with your phone, look elsewhere. It has gotten much worse since I bought them 9 months ago. I have to uninstall the App and reset my hearing aids almost daily and then only works 50% of the time. Phonak needs to figure this out or it is going to severely impact sales. If they aren’t putting a lot of resources on fixing or replacing the App, their leadership should be fired because it is only a matter of time that it will impact financial results and they will be fired anyway and their replacement will have a big hole to dig out of to get their reputation back. I recommended these hearing aids to at least 5 people who bought them and now tell people to stay away from them because of the buggy App..Version: 6.4.0

My Health IssueOverall I am finding the app OK. Do have issues on iOS updates and having to reload the app after most of them. In the My Health where the number of steps taken are counted there is a ridiculous anomaly in actual steps. Over 13,000 steps indicated when I was in a car driving most of the day. My iPhone indicated less than 800 steps for the same period and that has been shown to be relatively accurate. Pointless having these features if they aren’t at least close to accurate particularly when health related..Version: 6.4.1

Updated app Caused Issues From Day ONEPlease fix bug with it turning streaming for phone calls OFF from the first day I downloaded it. It turns off slider regularly for unknown reasons. Prior to the release of this app in July I had no issues. It is a critical bug that needs to be fixed….either that or revert to the older app..Version: 6.1.0

My Phonak AppThis app doesn’t work at all with my hearing aids. The app all by itself changes the settings on my hearing aids and I loose the focus I had it set it on. Phonak has no instructions how to use this app, no manual. I am disappointed in these hearing aids. They change the volume, loud sounds raise the volume, soft sounds turn down the volume. Isn’t it supposed to be just the opposite? It’s like they built hearing aids and an app, but never tested it or write a manual. If you purchased these hearing aids, good luck. That was for your previous app, the comments below are for your latest irritation of your “app” Since I got this new app my hearing aids are stuck to your Bluetooth and the widget stuck to my iPhone lock page with “R- Phonak hearing” stuck to the widget stuck to the lock page even when it is not streaming it steals all my ability to hear people speak like my wife is talking to me from 3 feet away and my hearing aids don’t pick up her speech at all because I am stuck to the Bluetooth on the iPhone when it is not streaming, just a world of silence. I wish I had never purchased this $5000 hear aid..Version: 6.1.0

Was OK but…….The app was working well until the “Stay Connected” option was added recently. But with that option selected the app no longer retains any programs with personalised adjustments. It appears that all personalised programs are deleted when the hearing aids are switched off. I usually turn mine off at night when I take them out as I go to bed. When the stay connected option is turned off the personalised adjustments are retained after the aids have been turned off. I’ve asked Phonak support about this but their only response is to tell me to consult my hearing consultant. Faults in the app software as this obviously is, are not something my consultant is going to be able to fix. Disappointed!.Version: 6.5.1

The app hurts the experienceTo be sure the Lumity hearing aids are good HAs and seem to be of good quality. However, the things revolving around the aids are less then stellar. The app is slow to connect to the aids. The app will sometimes switch into streaming mode for no reason. When trying to fine tune the hearing aids the app will often crash or show an error and default to the Home Screen. The aids lack gps to track a lost aid. They lack Apple Watch support. They connect to up to 8 devices but who needs that. It would be better to connect to say 4 devices and be more stable and faster. Imagine being in the checkout line trying to hear through plexiglass and mask and waiting for your aids to connect so you can adjust them. I turned the Paradise back. I would like to keep these but it seems that little progress has been made on the app since I tried the app with the Paradise HAs. Phonak, you can do better..Version: 6.2.3

Good hearing aids very bad tech.I have been using the top of the line Phonak Life hearing aids for two weeks, today I am sending them back. The hearing aids are nice but the app and implementation is so bad I can not use these hearing aids. First you do not pair these through the accessibility app on the phone, this causes you to lose functionality. Here are some examples. Through accessibility on the phone I can choose separately what sounds I want to go to the hearing aids. I can have phone calls through my hearing aids and other sounds (like typing sounds) go to the phone. The way Phonak has chosen to do it, ether all sounds go to the hearing aids or no sounds go to the hearing aids. I can not choose to use the phone mike in loud environments. In loud environments people can not hear what I am saying. If I switch to the phone mike I have to also hear through the phone speaker, now I can’t hear. Because other brands use accessibility in loud environments I can turn down the background noise the hearing aids are amplifying and turn up the phone call. This way I only hear the caller, not with these. A lot of times when I open the app it will not connect. If you are on the phone you can not access the app. This has got to be the worst thought out app I have ever seen. I have to wonder if Phonak even bothered to bata test or ask the advice of people with hearing loss..Version: 6.3.0

Poor App ConnectivityMy previous HA’s where made by Starkey, and once the were paired to my iPhone, they remained connected. When turned on next day, the automatically reconnected. Currently using Phonak P90R. They are superior to previous aids and the sound quality is great. The app is another matter. It is very slow to connect to the HA’s, if the connect at all. If they don’t connect, you have to go through all kinds of gyrations, and sometimes that is isn’t successful either. Another problem is that if they’re connected and you make or receive a call, the app will disconnect from the aids and your back in square one with connectivity issues. The solution to this problem is to have the app stay open in the background once paired and connected and or work with the iPhone accessibility function. Come on Phonak, this should be an easy fix for your developers..Version: 6.4.0

Don’t buy PhonakThis app is shockingly bad. I purchased another set of Phonak Hearing aids as a pair I had on loan actually worked with the app. Guess what? Won’t connect to Bluetooth, won’t connect to the app. My first pair took a long time to connect but eventually they did, only not to the computer or any other Bluetooth device. The pair I had on loan connected to everything. This pair connect to nothing. I tossed up whether to buy Phonak again, I’m going to try to go back to the other model. But please consider another make. They have touch control, if I adjust my glasses a voice starts speaking to me, and very kindly cashed a company in Iceland for me the other day. It turns on if my hair moves. These really are bad. It’s not so much the money, it’s what you need to help you live a normal life. If you want stress by Phonak..Version: 6.4.1

Keeps losing connection with hearing aidsDespite a promising start this latest version of the MyPhonak app leaves much to be desired. It keeps losing connection with my hearing aids , it drops out of tv connection, and requires a reboot of iPhone or of the MyPhonak app before it can reconnect. If it was possible I would revert to the previous version of the app as this one is totally disappointing..Version: 6.3.0

DowngradeThis is an annoying downgrade for me. Anything under “Adjust settings” no longer works! All the options like “Comfort” do nothing! On iPhone XR. Did anyone test this? UI changes are cosmetic and also annoying. Update 16 Sep 2020: I’ve done what you suggest and contacted support but there’s been no response..Version: 6.2.1

Awful AppAs other people have commented, since the update of this app, using it has become a nightmare. The hearing aids do not connect automatically as they did prior to the update. This involves turning off hearing aids to reconnect every day. Very frustrating, especially as most users are old people like me who find this difficult. Having had someone in hearing centre reconnect for me yesterday, today once more they will not connect, so back to square one. It is not always easy to get help or easy to find access to assistance. I for one will not be using this app until it is improved..Version: 6.2.0

Beware! If you rely on your hearing aid app to be flexible, then the myPhonak app will disappoint you. The app allows you to make your own programme and save it, so you don’t have to keep adjusting it every time you connect your aids to the app. However, after the last update this function no longer works! Every time I disconnect my hearing aids to charge them, or I restart my phone, any personal programmes I have saved are deleted! I have tried the technical ‘support’ contact and I am directed back to where I purchased the hearing aids from! If I could afford to change them I would do..Version: 6.5.0

Programs. SINCE YOUR LATEST UPDATE!Below is copy of a review I left several years ago. You actually cured this problem but since your update last night it’s come back! PLEASE sort it! The slight difference now is it stops on Bluetooth and doesn’t revert back to my individual setting! I love my new Paradise hearables, Bluetooth connectivity is great. The only problem I have is that whichever program I use via the app they always end up back to Autosense 4.0. I quit the app with my new program loaded, something like Twitter causes a loss of sound and on leaving Twitter I’m back with Autosense 4.0. Why doesn’t it retain the program I want?.Version: 6.4.0

HorribleI have no idea WHY this company “redid” an app that had Zero issues! Now, you are given only half of the iPhone vertical screen space to control the volume and mute function. In the middle of the day about five days ago, all of the sudden my hearing aids were no longer paired to Bluetooth. I have never had to go in through my settings to set up Bluetooth until this new update. The left and the right hearing aids refused to pair no matter what I do with top speed Internet access. I also think that you are feeling forced to register for your health. What is up with this??? I do not want to have to set this hearing aid up along with “health” options. I go to the gym several times a week and want my mute and volume functions back. Right now, all I can do is stream calls and music. None of the other functions work on this blanking app. This is a very expensive hearing aid that insurance didn’t cover all of. Now, I feel I have no options other than to go into my audiologist and show her my situation. Why am I having to go to all this extra time trouble and effort when these hearing aids cost $6500? Fix this app and stop forcing users to enter and track additional data that has nothing to do with hearing!!!! Maybe my next hearing aid system will come from Costco? Fix this app!!!.Version: 6.1.0

Been having trouble keeping the aids synced up with my phone..And for some reason I’m getting beeps when I install a new set of batteries..Version: 6.5.1

Poor appAs long as I have had these aids pairing issue a problem. I also cannot save a new program because my phone. It is a apple 12. Hardly an out of date device. About time phonak fixed some stuff When buying next aids apps will play a big part in my decision. As you can see phonak have a lot of improving to get my money again.Version: 6.2.2

Non directional1. OftenI couldn't tell where the ambient sound was coming from. 2. Words from a person I talk to is inaudible. 3. Sounds from lower floors intrude..Version: 6.5.1

Product AppraisalThe manufacturer will not fix the telephone connectivity...... interference and static makes these hearing aids unusable as a communication device. This is one of the selling features that I made a decision to buy. Further the dealer made no efforts to correct the issue and in fact told me (the customer) that I was the only user that had an issue. I was one of the first to owners of this model. I will not buy this product again.Version: 6.5.1

If it’s not broken don’t fix it!Thanks for nothing it bad enough getting old and needing a hearing aid but to change it without any thought to the user is poor customer service. Now it is a problem getting the hearing aids to connect since the change (iPhone 13 pro). I have had to delete the app and reinstall it on several occasions to get it to connect. Expensive hearing aids now relying on a poorly designed app. Obviously not tested to well before release! I would guess that a lot of people my age already have a problem with internet etc so this hasn’t helped. Added since response Why are all the replies from you almost identical to all poor reviews. “Cut and paste”? What do you not understand when user tell you that they have problems connecting hearing aids through the app. So exactly what detail are you asking for each time?.Version: 6.1.0

Age restrictionsCan you please change the age restrictions - my daughter can’t use this app for her hearing aids because of it.Version: 6.2.3

Not workingAgreed, since the app update I cannot get the app to work on my iPhone. It initially sees my aids and connects but no sounds come through then it looses connection. Tried several times with same problem. Never had an issue with the previous app. Please bring back the old one until this is fixed..Version: 6.1.0

Not the bestI have used my Phonak app for a month now on an iPhone 11 up to date IOS. Every time I get a message, phone call or calendar reminder it switches off my hearing aids and displays “streaming +mic” then after a time it goes to default setting. Frequently loses connection with my hearing aids although the phone is no further away than my trouser pocket and also frequently deletes any presets I have created..Version: 6.6.0

This app is so awful it makes the HAs a bad choiceThis app is the means by which a user controls the HAs so it does make a massive difference in overall product quality. The litany of flaws is well documented in the other ratings, and I know from my audiologist and the Sonova sales guy she connected me to that the company has hard this loudly and repeatedly from the customer base. But no result. They say ‘we will let the developers know’!! The company has the financial resources to fix this, and I figured they would, quickly, when I got them 6 months ago. I think it is becoming apparent that it is not just the app and software but hardware too. Stay away. UPDATE: Got the stock response of in summary: ‘send us more details and we will look into it’. As if they don’t know the problems! I will amend my review: hardware is probably ok, the app and software are so awful Sonovo management is either incompetent and inattentive or doesn’t care. My stay away conclusion is just reinforced by the response..Version: 6.4.1

Not good enoughThe bluetooth connection repeatedly drops out despite my state of the art iphone. If I change a setting, it will be ok for a while, but the settings never seem to do what you expect and thereafter the bluetooth drops out again. Then you have to delete the app to get it to pair with your hearing aids again. Very frustrating and very annoying. The reply given to my entry here does not solve the issue. When I use my iPad Pro on Bluetooth for unrelated stuff, the connection between my hearing aids and iphone drops out. I then find too that the self made programs on the App disappear. I know how to reconnect, no need to tell me, but it is nevertheless very annoying..Version: 6.5.0

1year userHad these for just over one year. Bought top of the line - they’re OK but not worth the money as they do assist in better hearing but understanding speech in loud environments is not their strong point. Also, using the Bluetooth feature on cell phones is often not good quality. The app is next to useless: no help in programming for different situations and the battery charge level is seldom accurate (needs reboot to get a current & accurate read). Again- not worth the extra $$$..Version: 6.6.0

Calm 1Way too complicate..Version: 6.6.0

New UI is a messJust updated the app and I cannot say that the new UI is an improvement. For some reason, the bottom 1/3 of the Home screen now shows some optional content about “Remote Support”. The worst thing about this is that, when I want to adjust volume and the screen of my phone is somewhat dirty, I can’t get the volume slider to go up or down; instead, the whole screen scrolls up/down. Just get rid of the bottom part, make it full screen with a larger volume control. Profiles are no longer accessible via a drop down menu, but buttons at the top can be scrolled left<>right to select. In my opinion, the drop down menu was quick to see custom profiles and select one. The buttons are too big and need too much scrolling to quickly select one. Not sure if an actual human being performed some UX testing on this….Version: 6.1.0

Not an improvementThe earlier version of this app allowed me to adjust trends and base for the music programme. Fortunately I did this and saved it as a new programme because it appears the current version has removed this adjustment. Why?.Version: 6.4.0

Phones app not downloadingI had the App and it was no longer pairing with my hearing aids so I got rid of it and now it is not reinstalling.Version: 6.6.0

Completely Buggered! Was a dodgy app at the start and they just made it worse. Why do I need all the lifestyle and health crap? Why do I need an account? Only use this because it came with the hearing aids. If I could find something better I’d be off like a shot. Pay nearly £3000 for hearing aids and you’d think you’d have the option to opt out of the crap! When will you fix having to reboot when the Bluetooth stops working? Update! I had a response explaining I needed an acct so I can get the benefit of health tracking! I’m 70 for Christ’s Sake. Even God is as surprised as I am when I wake up each morning! Why are you using your customers who have paid thousands of pounds for these hearing aids as unpaid beta testers? You won’t find me recommending your products. I’m just grateful you don’t make defibrillators!!.Version: 6.1.0

Bluetooth/Connectivity bugsI enjoy the hearing aids, as I can hear sounds that I was not hearing before. However, the app and connectivity to my iPhone are glitchy at best. Although, there may be some settings that would allow me to control certain functionality, I have yet to find these. For example, I was connected to my hearing aids with my phone, but then I wanted the sound to go through the audio of my Car. I switched to the car audio, but then later could not get them to reconnect to the hearing aids. I had to physically get away from my car and uninstall and reinstall the app before I was able to reconnect to my hearing aids. Also, often the hearing aids will only connect to either the left or right here, but not both. These are just some of the problems that I have been having. For every day usage this app and the Bluetooth functionality, need a major overhaul..Version: 6.6.0

2022 update is a step backwardsThe recent update (August 2022) is a mess. I’m too, have had many opportunities to install, uninstall and reinstall the new app. Although both hearing aids will pair with my iPhone, only one will pair consistently with the app and stay connected. The left hearing aid will pair with the app and disconnect within seconds of pairing. The TV connector part of the app fails more often than it pairs. My experience with the previous app was very positive. Strangely, everything worked fine! The new upgrade destroyed all that positivity. Something needs to be done with this failure guaranteed app release. ADDITION: I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled this useless app numerous times. It’s too bad that this app fails to function properly with Audéo P-90 hearing aids. The old app never failed. The app developer has to know that the app isn’t helping almost 400 users. What we need is an app that quickly connects and stays connected with the hearing aids and then operates correctly with the aids. If one needs an app that will disconnect one’s hearing aids and then become useless, this is it..Version: 6.2.0

Rarely connectsConnects with hearing aids about 25% of the time. All suggested fixes attempted - no improvement. Hearing aids we’re expensive and on the basis of this management ap were grossly overpriced.Version: 6.4.0

Poor quality appThis app is very in accessible to people using VoiceOver on an iPhone it should be worked on and improved.Version: 4.0.5

Application my PhonakApplication instable! L’enregistrement de mes préférences est supprimé de façon inopinée suite à la fermeture quotidienne de mon IPhone 11..Version: 6.6.0

AnnoyingThis updated app is annoying. When I’m listening to a talking book on my iPhone I can’t use the tap function to answer a phone call and every time I stop listening to the book the app “loses the connection” to the tap control function on the iPhone..Version: 6.2.1

Hearing Aids Connect When They Want TooThese are by far the most difficult and unnecessary annoyance to just connect to Bluetooth to my hearing aid. Every day I have to click the Bluetooth off because my hearing aid will randomly turn on Siri. Then when I have to turn it back on to connect to my hearing aid to use the phone. It will connect but every once in a while it won’t it’ll costly say error unable to connect. It’s a very annoying when I get a phone call I’m driving and I can’t pick up the phone so I’m constantly trying to connect to Bluetooth but it constantly getting disconnected. This is a safety hazard. I had resound before this all had to do is click Bluetooth and automatic connected instantly. Here I have to open the app turn on my Bluetooth and go into my settings under Bluetooth and click on connect to hearing aid. That makes zero sense, and also there’s no way to turn off the tapping of the hearing aid..Version: 6.6.0

Was great, now useless.I relied on this app to control my ComPilot II, it was great, but now they have dropped support for this completely. I know because I called Phonak to check, their advice was to get a new set of hearing aids! I’m a 42 year old professional in New Zealand, I got my current hearing aids about 2 years ago paying about NZD $5,500.00 with a discount down from $7k, then I bought the ComPilot II for another $800.00. So I found the lack of support, and this feedback to be insulting and expensive. I think next time around I’ll go back to Siemens (which was the brand of my previous hearing aids) because at least they continue to support their products and users. Very disappointed..Version: 4.0

App is ok would benefit from these improvementsPlease include the following into your app. Full control to adjust anything when streaming thru Bluetooth example phone calls, listening to music or watching any video online; being able to adjust the bass, middle, treble, noise reduction etc. Add Wind reduction control and front focus feature for loud environments to be able to hear the person that's directly in front of you. Show a diagram of the the speech focus so a user can see how wide or narrow you're adjusting to. If streaming thru the tv box, make user have full control bass, middle, treble, noise reduction etc. My hearing tends to fluctuate alot, cochlear hydrops. Age 39. Some days I have to make adjustments thru the app however when making those adjustment for that day it would be nice let a user decide to click on/off auto sense for that particular setting the user created to adjust to the environments. I believe these suggestions would greatly enhance a user's experience using the app. Especially with those with fluctuating hearing loss for the ability to have full control..Version: 6.4.1

Personal settings not retained by appThis review is about the app - the hearing aids themselves are excellent. The ability to personally tailor the hearing aids for individual situations seems an amazing function - and it does work. BUT, this great function is let down in the app because the ‘saved’ programs always disappear after a few hours or a day. Please correct this fault so that the programs are permanently saved in the app. Otherwise the personalised features are just a waste of time..Version: 6.5.1

App Still does not work for Audeo CrosPromised for April 2022. Still waiting. You have to change control via buttons on the hearing aids. Like who wants to do that ?.Version: 6.3.0
