Minimoog Model D Synthesizer for Negative User Reviews

Do not update to 1.3.2Last update claimed improvement to sound engine. In fact it damaged it... shame, it used to be a working app, not anymore after this update. Now I am hearing crackles like when your audio interface cannot handle the sound, or buffer too small. How can I revert to the previous version ?.Version: 1.3.2

Latest update has a bugYou can’t play polyphonic without the presets changing by themselves when playing chords. Maybe it’s Bob telling us something? Get a Polymoog?.Version: 1.3.14

Not compatible with Ableton 11!BEWARE - the plugin will CRASH any project in Ableton 11 and you will be unable to recover your work, suport advised me "We have gotten this report from several customers and this appears to be due to a regression in Live." Afvised me to use Ableton 10 instead, even though 11 has been out since February..Version: 1.3.34

Buggy when used in GarageBandThe synth frequently stops working in GarageBand. It works for awhile, then GB says the synth isn’t installed. The only way to fix it is to uninstall and re-install. Please fix this!.Version: 1.1.1

IPad Air 4th gen ProblemsHi guys , love the app but gotta give it one star to bring to your attention that this app is completely broken on the iPad Air 4. Hope you guys can fix this!.Version: 1.2.12

IPhone 12 Pro Max Menu BrokenI was excited to start jamming out with my Instrument 1 on this app, but I couldn’t trigger any notes. I check the Artiphon app to see if there might be an issue and a I set it to single channel mode. No notes. I look around the Model D interface looking for some kind of settings button and I can’t find it. The menu at the top stops at “Play” and even using the presets menu, the buttons and text look a little off. I go online to find the manual and sure enough, the manual shows a few buttons that are missing including settings. The tempo tool is also missing. Hoping for some fixes..Version: 1.2.12

Great sound UI issueGreat sounding app. Does it sound exactly like the original? Don’t have one here to compare. I borrowed an original 70s minimoog back in the 90s for sampling and got on well with it, great for bass and FX etc. Still use some of those samples to this day. The app. Sounds very nice indeed and can go places some more sophisticated synths can’t. Moog really have paid attention to the sound. However the UI seems to have a bug that’s somehow linked to processor power/memory leakage or something. You open the app up and all is well, the UI responds correctly. You start programming and playing and after a while all the knob responses slow right down and you really have to move your finger on the screen a lot to get them to do anything. Shutdown the app and restart and all is fine again. Really annoying. iPad Pro M1 on iOS 17.1.2. I’m about to update to 17.2 to see if that has any effect..Version: 1.3.35

UI is scrambled on iOS 14The app is unusable on iOS 14 - the panel graphics and keys are scrambled. (8th gen iPad).Version: 1.2.12

Almost perfectI think this synth is amazing except for not really knowing what your parameters off the knob changes really are.. without a parameter window(monitor), while making parameter-knob changes, knowing what you’re doing will rely completely on ear as opposed to visually seeing it happen by the numbers and being able to dial in your desired results. I mean I know this is an older synth from the 70s, but if you’re gonna bring it into the present at 2018, then give it the benefit of present technology and evolve this platform instead of keeping it stagnant with the same limitations as the physical synth from the 70s. Also, this needs way more in app purchases for sounds/patches.. maybe every couple of months a new batch??!?? Not everyone is a sound designer and could use more professionally made patches so they can focus on music creation instead of sound creation. Moog, help us out here...Version: 1.1.1

I’m lazy. Please help!No doubting the quality of this app. Fantastic emulation. My one caveat is that I’m a lazy IOS musician and I really like to set up my keyboard so it plays, say, a Lydian mode in the key of A flat. The ability to do that speeds up my workflow and lessens the performance mistakes when using a keyboard that is much smaller than my fingers. Might it be possible to include this as a choice in a future update? You can hide it away somewhere if it’s offensive to purists..Version: 1.1.0

PLEASE FIX THISThis is a fairly expensive VI - I own hundreds of different virtual instruments and never had as many issues as I do with Moogs virtual instruments. The keys get stuck inside the plug in and you constantly have to open the plug in after playing through a song and find which key is sticking and spam it until it stops. This glitch is so frustrating and kills the workflow and keeps me from even using this at all. Please fix this bug it is unacceptable at this price point. The ARP is an absolute nightmare with this as well it’s to the point it’s unusable..Version: 1.3.18

Doesn’t work in garageband?Everyone says great things about this synth so I was looking forward to using it, only to find out that, upon loading it into GarageBand, it doesn’t produce any sound. If there’s a fix for this I’d love to hear it, thanks.Version: 1.2.12

Latest update failJust updated Model D on 6th gen iPad and now it won’t load. Have deleted, reinstalled and restarted but to no avail. I hope a new update to remedy this is coming soon. Not a happy camper..Version: 1.1.7

Pinch zoomPut a pinch zoom on this app: iPhone...very difficult to adjust controllers...your tap zoom isn’t up to par... I’d also like to know what happened to anamoog for iPhone...it’s not on apps anymore...now all my purchases do not work...my app will not even boot...put your product back on the apps store...thank you....Version: 1.3.8

Lovely synth but sounds nothing like the real thingSorry guys, I really appreciate the effort in this, especially since it’s currently free, but this doesn’t sound like a model d. It lacks dirt, inconsistencies and sounds plastic. The filter really doesn’t sound like the hardware counterpart either. It is a great synth though. Just not authentic to the original..Version: 1.2.11

Sounds awesome, but auv3 is uselessThe in app functionality is great, but I use my iPad as an instrument. Even in play mode, the in-app keyboard is useless. My solution was to run it as an audio unit, through GarageBand. Then starts crackle fest. Buffer underruns GALORE. It’s unusable. This should not be happening on the newest, most advanced iPad Pro. The reason I’m not giving 2, or even 1 star, is because the problem is intermittent (although more present than not), and I’m sure I can get around the issue with a midi controller. But that doesn’t save negate my need for the functionality of a virtual touchscreen keyboard with reasonably sized keys, which the Model D app does NOT offer..Version: 1.1.9

Version 1.3.3 requires more CPU than 1.3.1They claimed to have fixed things but they have not..Version: 1.3.3

Ok but not really like a hardware synthI guess at £30 this is still ok value. It’s really nowhere near as warm sounding as most hardware synths. It has a kind of harshness and the filters just don’t seem to work in the same way as the original..Version: 1.3.37

Hangs to oftenFrequently I will open up the Mini on a new track and it just refuses to make a sound. I can see the keys moving. I check all the knobs to be sure soudn should be coming through. I pull up a known good patch. Silence. I have no other VI that behaves like this. It's to the point where I suconsciously avoid using it. I'll go to Largo or Model 15 instead. I keep hoping the latest update will fix this, but it never does. I don't know what the updates fix. I'd rate it lower but it actually sounds pretty good when it works..Version: 1.3.34

Great app huge issues with ios15Hi , love the app but ios15 has graphics issues. Hope you can fix it - Andre.Version: 1.3.6

Full of glitchesWell...I would love to love it, and I'm sure I would IF it was working properly ! But I can't use it as of now. There's glitches all the time, on every patches. Not gonna ask for a refund yet but I hope there's some fix real soon ! I'm using Logic Pro X on Mac OS 12.0.1.Version: 1.3.13

Sounds great, looks great But!!!!!!!Why not use the Ipad real estate better, especially for people who's eyesight ain't as good as what it used to be. The preset access is an inefficient use of space and there's also a massive chunk of wood. This leaves too little space for the knobs which (for me) are really hard to read. I will definitely use this app, but hopefully Moog will consider these assesibility issues for future developments..Version: 1.0.1

GarageBand timing issuesGood app over all, but the synths when integrated into GarageBand seem to be slightly out of time, causing tracks to be almost unplayable. If this is fixed, it would be an easy 5 stars!.Version: 1.2.12
