ShotVision Launch Monitor for Negative User Reviews

Trouble with readingsHi, I’m trying to set up in garden with a net. How far back from the net does the phone need to be to allow the ball to take proper flight? I don’t want to be too far back from net just in case I miss hit and shank into neighbours living room..Version: 1.2.9

GuttedBeing lockdown for a month this was worth a punt. However the figures it came back with were miles off, max drive was 170 yards 😂😂😂😂.Version: 1.4.0

Didn’t work for meI followed the video and tried countless set ups. Maybe registered one in ten shots. If I was to believe this app I can hit my 7 iron at somewhere between 151 and 176 mph ball speed. Umm nope. I’m not Dechambeau..Version: 1.4.2

TerribleAttempted the free trial, set it all up, it would see the ball and then freeze. No data no nothing, terrible app. Definitely not worth paying for..Version: 2.2.5

Not consistently accurateI am single digit and wanted something consistent accurate. I have a Swingcaddy which is consistently inaccurate by 10-20 yards depending on the club. Not great, but at least it is consistent. I figured paying $40 was worth trying Shot Vision for a year. Not really. It took a lot of tinkering around to get anywhere near accurate readings because you can still get a reading by moving it in/out or forward/back. You basically already have to know how far you hit each club, then calibrate SV to it, then do it all over again for the next club. Not worth it for me. Stopped using it after a week. This is ok for someone who doesn’t want to pay $300 or more for a decent launch monitor and is willing to spend a lot of time calibrating it or doesn’t care about accuracy..Version: 1.5.2

No thanksNot a single free feature to see of this even works or what the level of accuracy is? Seems like smoke and mirrors to me..Version: 1.3.8

TWF23Not one drive picked up.Version: 1.5.5

CrapI bought a tripod for my phone and it won’t even register a single shot. I have it set up in a rigid base and everything it’s a little over cast out but I have it set to low light mode and this thing won’t even register a shot!!! I paid for a month and will not be renewing I guess that’s what I get for trusting an app provider. Don’t waste you’re time or money on this app!!.Version: 1.3.5

Needs iPad supportIt’s a great app in general, it tracks ball speed and almost everything if you pay for it the only downside is that I have an old phone which lags when I’m running the app and an iPad which doesn’t even work with the camera, it’s kind of annoying but please try to make it work..Version: 2.0.3

Unfortunately not accurateHad this set up alongside trackman, skytrak and a garmin approach g80. Unfortunately it was well out compared to the others. Some shots I hit bad with my 9 iron recorded 180 yards but I only get 1-120 yards with that iron. Not one distance recorded came near the others recorded. Shame really as it would be worth the £6.99 a month if it worked as well as other options..Version: 1.3.1

Good concept .... not very accurateThe app does a pretty good job but most shots come up at least 15-20 yards short than the real yardages. The app struggles to pick up shots in low light also. Okay for £6 a month (pro version) but it could do with some refinement such as recording & storing all shot data etc. until features like this are included I won’t be renewing the pro subscription.Version: 1.3.1

Save your moneyThis app just doesn’t cut it. If u want to know your swing speed the free version will give u that. The paid version that includes distance carried is a joke. It says I hit my six iron further than my driver. As others have said it seems to do pretty well with the shorter irons. Passed that it’s useless. Using iPhone and tripod. Outdoors in good light. My contact to support through their website was unanswered. Should have done the yearly so I got a seven day free trial. They don’t offer a trial on the monthly subscription for a reason..Version: 1.6.0

Not badA little inconsistent with all range of clubs. Would like to be able to view the data without having to keep going to my phone. Use of front camera or watch app to view would be incredible... from there would just like it to be more reliable.Version: 1.4.2

Just purchasedSetup was as per the instructions, out of 20 shots, 3 registered. Using a 9 iron, had my distance over 250yds, not good. Any tips to rectify would be appreciated!! Bought a 1 month subscription, I assume that does not auto renew??.Version: 1.6.0

CrashesApp was working well alittle inaccurate at times but it was working fine. Then I tried to delet some of the shots and ever since then the app crashes every time I try to go into the club section on the bottom right of the screen. I have deleted the app multiple times and signed back in and does it every time. And now I can’t change any clubs look at any data and not to sure on how to fix it..Version: 1.4.2

Good funAdds some fun to the garden net session. Measurements are very dependent on the distance from the ball, but if you are consistent with your placement you’ll at least get a consistent result that you can use to gauge your own progress, even if it is not an accurate measure to compare against others players..Version: 1.4.2

More updates but still not workingI purchased the subscription about 1 month ago when the app was working. Now it’s useless. Wasted money. You have updated this app about 5 times in the last 2 weeks. The app now doesn’t do anything. If you get it to recognize the golf ball, the flash lights on and it signals ready. Then the screen goes into the ball data screen without reading your shot, the flash stays on and it won’t return to the ready screen. Just a waste of time and money..Version: 2.2.5

Where’s the Zero star ?Tried the free version and it registered about 50% of the shots. Purchased a 1 month subscription using the exact same setup and I’ve hit 22 balls without a single register. I’m outside. On short cut grass. I have a towel down. I watch the video tutorial and setup. I’ve don’t exactly as instructed. This app is a MEME !! What a great idea, terrible execution. I’d like my 1 months subscription back please. Thank you. EDIT - I back onto a farm field. I took a meter wheel that I have at home and I ran it out into the field putting a stake every 50 yards. I hit my 4 iron for about 20 shots, only 8 registered and it came in at 130 yards average. I hit my 4iron 200-210 according to the stakes. 7 iron. 20 shots. 16 registered, average distance on my 7 iron 98 yards...according to my meter wheel it’s closer too 170 yards. Then I took out my driver for 20 shots 5 registered. Average drive 148 yards. My measurements have 260 yard average drive. Again, this app is a complete waste of money, great concept but it just doesn’t work. I’m open to suggestion from the developers but as of now it belongs in the trash..Version: 1.5.1

Doesn’t work at allPurchased pro version. My distance is 160-170 yards with 7. This gives me 40-60.Version: 1.6.0

Impressive when it works, but that wasn’t oftenI setup the tracker using a tripod on solid ground as recommended. I was indoors hitting into a net with solid lighting that I increased to improve the tracking results, but still struggled to find consistency in a shot being tracked, and then accuracy when it was. When the tracker works, it’s an impressive tool and would be worth the annual subscription. The randomizer feature is a great way to work on practical golf skills. Consistency in tracking shots was poor, working half the time and when a shot was tracked, I saw maybe 80% accuracy. Setup FAQ and videos were instructive but more tools within the app to help diagnose tracking issues would be much more helpful in helping me address what needs to be improved to get it working as advertised. Until I can see consistent, more accurate tracking I don’t think the annual subscription is worthwhile..Version: 1.3.9

Great outside! Not so much indoors. So I used this out on the driving range and it works REALLY well. One in 10 would either not register or be obviously inaccurate (apparently I can hit my pitching wedge 200+ yards). But you can go through a session and delete the miss-hits later so it won’t bog down your average too much. However…the lowlight/indoor setting simply doesn’t work. I went so far as to put brighter bulbs in and it still was just so dark, it wouldn’t read anything. The iris on the camera closes so much -I can see through the set up that it’s just not letting in light. If this gets fixed, I’ll be a lifetime user. It’s a FANTASTIC app…I really hope they fix the indoor setting though. Lots of potential for a real market changer for those of us who don’t want to spend $300 for a launch monitor..Version: 1.6.0

GenerousThe app is free, but I still expected it to have correct information. The volume was good. Setting up the app to place on the ground, however, requires some finessing. It’s difficult to see the screen to start the app. The yardages given are very generous. Accurate? When compared to a laser range finder, not so much. Seemed to be 20-30 yards too long. Makes me wonder about the accuracy of the rest of the info..Version: 1.2.6

Inaccurate launch monitorI have a golf club head speed of 150mph+ and this app says my club head speed is 84-87mph, I compete as a Professional Long Drive competitor, This app is so horrifically inaccurate it’s not even funny, Would never upgrade it with money..Version: 1.6.0

GarbageI was eager to see how this worked. I was horrible disappointed. I had just used the launch monitor at my local range and indoor at Golf Galaxy. They tracked pretty close to each other in terms of ball speed, carry distance and swing speed. This app was so horribly off…garbage. My 5 wood goes on average about 208, 3 wood 220, 7 iron 150. With my driver swing speed typical around 92 mph. This app recorded my driver swing speed at 70 mph, my 3w, 5w and 7 iron distance at around 170, 150 and 130 yards. Not even close to accurate and if I trusted those on then course it would be a disaster. I tried using the app multiple times, adjusting position, recalibrating etc. It was never accurate. Worthless.Version: 1.6.0

Just not right yetDownloaded and gave pro mode a decent go. Really loved the concept but the readings were so far out at times that its use became a distraction. Perhaps my iphone camera is not the most up to date? (Iphone 6). Would love to give it another go once the accuracy issues can be sorted to a margin or error that is useful. P.Version: 1.3.2

Ok for the moneyApp is quite good through the mid to short irons 6,7, 8 and 9 but is not good with long irons and driver. In fact, the app does not pick up the driver in majority of cases. (2 or 3 out of a 30 shot gap session). For long irons, 4 & 5, shots are registered but distances are way off. For the money it is OK, but needs better accuracy on the longer clubs..Version: 1.5.1

Why mine is in Japanese? Can you adivce me how to change language into English??.Version: 1.4.2

Relatively unusable in my experienceWatched some YouTube reviews, paid the subscription and expected something even slightly usable, but I was wrong. I have a 10 day old iPhone 14 256G and high speed internet, and couldn’t get this app to track more than 2-3 shots before it freezes. Distances are wildly inaccurate, it’s painful. Hopefully with some updates it will be usable, but for now, I’ve cancelled within 2 days. Bad/10.Version: 2.1.9

AwfulPaid for premium for distances, have tried about 50 different set up with lights, towels etc. I’ve even measured it to the exact and following this, on average it actually picks up about 1 in 10 strikes & the strike it eventually picks up is telling me I’m hitting a 300 yard 7 iron!.Version: 1.5.2

Good when it works, inconsistent thoughFar be it from me to pile on to an affordable alternative to an expensive range of hardware but it seems the consistency just isn’t there. Despite following the setup guidelines, troubleshooting based on others’ experiences and reading through some of the developer’s suggestions in the review chain, I just wasn’t able to get a consistent chain of captured swings on the range. I’m sure there might be some user error component but I haven’t been to pinpoint it just yet. I’ll stick with it and am hopeful accuracy and consistency are improved..Version: 1.3.7

Inaccurate readingsThe yardage it gives back to you during Gap sessions is well understated..Version: 1.2.6

Diabolical customer serviceAfter downloading iOS update it won’t work! Notified shot-vision this was the answer : Hi Dan, thanks for the reply and we apologize for the inconvenience. Don’t waste you cash & buy a stand alone launch monitor.Version: 1.3.8

BusyIPhone 13 Pro. Sunny day, 10 shots all with 9 iron, every shot beeps, goes into orange busy mode and then does nothing..Version: 2.1.0

Honestly probably the quickest I’ve ever deleted an app I have testedI downloaded this app after seeing it on an instagram add and had my suspicions about it and well my expectations were about a 5-8 out of ten well when my drive goes 220 and it says 112 I know something was up so I hit my 34 degree 7 iron and hit a terrible shot(which I meant to) and I launched it 60-70 degrees of launch angle and it said 4 degrees and so I hit a perfect shot with the same club and got another wrong result and overall I want to just say don’t waist your money or time on this app it would honestly be better in the long run to buy a portable launch monitor. It was more inaccurate than I thought and also I hit more 7 iron shots and my best 7 iron shot ever went 155 yards carry well it said I had a 240 yard carry with a 7 iron that 240 would be a lucky carry with my cobra f9 speedback driver which is the best driver I’ve ever owned I improved over 40 yards compared to my previous Taylor made r 7. If anyone is still reading this please don’t get this app. Sorry to the developers but to me and with my results most terrible app I’ve ever tried or tested.Version: 1.3.7

Shot VisionNot impressed got this app two days ago as I got told about it via Facebook. I ended up paying a subscription for a month I tried it and I was apparently hitting my eight iron further than my five. To add to the fact I can’t even get my money back do not rate at all..Version: 1.2.9

Free but ShowsFor a free app this thing is nice in that it tries to do all the right things. That said it’s only useful if the data is accurate and it was not. I’d have clubs going 120 yards on the driving range that it reads at 76 yards. Driver it lands right around the 250 yard mark and it tells me 145. Wedges struggled to get picked up but that’s a flaw I can accept given the setup. This was with their recommendations of having it a drivers distance away from the ball and 2 feet forward on a golf towel during the afternoon. It just was not accurate at all on yardage..Version: 1.6.0

Great conceptGood idea but the reality is that my iphone 8 is not advanced enough to do this. Shame looks like I will have buy a launch monitor instead.Version: 1.4.2

Highly inaccurateI downloaded it on the iPhone 8. The usability is wonderfully simple just follow the instructions. The voice that says your carry distance is loud enough, clear, and quite quick after the shot. The readings I was getting with my 6 iron (which normally carries 180 yards for me) were at 120 yards on average and with a maxed out swing speed I could get it to only 135. I haven’t tried any other clubs. I hope they get the accuracy updated to give me enough confidence to purchase the app..Version: 1.2.6

Inconsistent pick upHave set it up as in the videos but it still misses every other stroke Great value when it works.Version: 1.3.3

3 stars so FarJust started using the app. It doesn’t always pick up your shot even when you hit it well. I’m using a 4ft T square to keep the ball and phone in the right place. The more accurate your ball placement the better the results. I’m going to spring for the pro version. After using the app more I’ll update my review..Version: 1.6.0

Reading distances longI’ve setup the app as advised, the system in reading all my shot longer. Eg I hit my 7 iron on average approx 140 metres however the system keeps recording 165m plus. Some goes for other clubs, it’s usually about 20 percent more. Is there a fix for this. Eg bug or setup Regards Tony.Version: 1.3.9

Doesn’t WorkThis product does not work. I followed the setup instructions exactly, ready all of the FAQ, had exact distances, perfect lighting and perfect calibration yet no matter what I did it would not detect any of my shots. I had full intention of purchasing the pro version after making sure it works, now the only thing I’m going to do is delete it!!!!.Version: 1.5.1

Carry distances not accurate!I know my carry distances, all shots on this app were well short, I wish it worked, but not for me, I set it up exactly as the app owners advised. Used iPhone 11 Pro..Version: 1.5.3

Nice tryFollowed the setup and the numbers weren’t even close, didn’t pick up the driver at all. Lucky I didn’t spend the $10 for distance readings. Save your time and money don’t bother downloading it.Version: 1.4.2

Register on and offWas registering 75% on my shots on first but on the second day to try it will not register one single shot... Same setup same light... Not working at all ....would be amazing with the first day info I got and all the little features but not if it works and n and off like this....Version: 1.3.8

Not accurate with SKILZ practice ballsTrying this out with several clubs on a new mat and SKILZ practice balls was fun but definitely not worth paying for at this time. I used the 2.0.5 version and it often missed my best strokes! The hit rate was well over 90%, but the total yardage was much shorter than expected. The stats were all over the place and I found that even the best keepers were shorter than expected. With the 2.0 version, I hit a 300+ yard 7 iron mixed in with some short shots. I enjoyed it as a novelty for a week and canceled it. Keep working on it..Version: 2.0.5

Set up not bad, accuracy horribleUnlike most negative reviews I found the set-up fairly simple. I did do it outside. It tracked most of my balls. It would miss low shots. The problem. Distance is not even close to accurate. I am a bad golfer and rarely hit my Driver more than 170. My first shot on the app 245. I averaged 215 never hitting less than 170 even on miss hits. I entered my info including my terrible Handicap. I also entered correct club angle (after I realized it was wrong initially) I also hit a few 7 irons still way longer than I can hit that club. Distance did decrease on a miss hit(still way too long) so something is being measured. But with my terrible swing and slow club speed no way am I hitting close to how far the app is saying. I didn’t expect super accuracy for the price, but distance is way to far off..Version: 1.3.8

Black screen using iPhone XRI first downloaded the app in Nov 2020 and it was working fine, even used the paid for version for a month while on the driving range. Just tried using it again in March 2021 and the set up screen camera is black, and nothing works, even though the set up says it’s ‘ready’. I’ve seen someone else say the same has happened to them, so it’s not just me! - Developers - can you fix this please??? It was a decent app until now!.Version: 1.4.2

UselessAll I did was try my driver, it had me hitting between 160-180 meters, I hit my driver 230-250 meters so I deleted it. I bet I won’t get my money back..Version: 1.4.2

Great concept. If there was a way to use LiDAR to be more accurate this would be golf app of the year. Every golfer would buy it.Version: 1.6.0

Looks like it could be a nice little app, butLooks like it could be a nice little app, but unless you pay for a subscription the app is basically useless. Only things it tell you is your ball speed, swing speed, launch angle, and ball rotation speed. It don’t tell you your carry distance or total distance unless you pay for a subscription. Looking in the app it appears that it also doesn’t keep your stats unless again you pay for a subscription. I do like how you can program the app to adjust the loft angle of your clubs. As for accuracy, I am a slow speed golf club swinger. I have never been tracked on a true launch monitor so I’m not sure how accurate the app is, but the speeds it told be I was hitting maybe maybe close don’t know for sure. Like some of the other reviewers said not all shot get registered by the app. I hit a few real good shoots and nothing registered. I was using it indoors on indoor mode so that may have been the reason as indoor mood by my understanding is still in beta testing. Haven’t tried it outdoors, but because I have to pay to get my carry distance and total distance and keep my stats, I will not be testing outdoors as I’ll be deleting the app..Version: 1.4.0

Unreliable and Doesn’t work with DriverI’d seen kids of reviews for this app and none of them what you might call singing the praises of its reliability. But during current lockdown I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve found that it seems reasonably accurate when using every club except Driver! It predicts a carry and total distance of over 50 yards LESS than I know that I hit. It suggests I hit my 3 hybrid and 4 iron further than I hit my driver! The errors with Driver are across the board. Swing speed out by around 30 mph. Spin ridiculously high for club and suggested swing speed. Shame because it’s a great idea. Needs a lot of attention though!.Version: 1.4.2

Not registering many shots.Hey guys. First off, thanks for working on this app and trying to make a portable and affordable app for us golf fanatics. Here’s my problem. This app is having a hard time tracking shots. I took 20 shots, a few registered off of the club, a few registered with no actual strike or movement and out of the shots registered, the distances were crazy. I was hitting my 6 iron anywhere from 143-202 carry. Just wondering if there is any advice you can give me. I purchased the month paid version but it’s not worth it..... just yet. Thanks again.Version: 1.3.1

Hmm209mph ball speed for a 6 iron.... yeah i don’t think so I want a refund.Version: 1.5.4

Very intermittentDoesn’t work regularly.Version: 1.5.7

Not what it promisesI got this app in the hopes that it would be a cost effective option for a launch monitor and was disappointed. For starters it is super finicky on picking up the ball. I could place the phone in one spot, hit the ball the exact same way, and it would sometimes see the shot and sometimes not. There seemed to be no consistency that I could understand. Speaking of consistency when it did pick up similar shots it would give wildly different distances. On my seven iron I would get 140 yards followed by 240 yards on shots that were very similar. If you are considering buying this service for a month to test it out like me, don’t bother..Version: 1.4.2

Don’t workTried everything to get this app to work but nothing. Emailed the support team and got nothing back to help.Version: 1.4.0

Good when it worked!Had it set up in my garage, lots of light, even tried low light setting. It registered 5 out of 50 shots, kept it in the small boxes as instructed. Just didn’t register shots..Version: 1.3.9

No tracking. No data. No good.Maybe I’m the problem. I watched the instructional video. I actually marked out the exact dimensions mentioned in the video to make sure I had the camera in the right distance/angle to track my shots. I also have separate surface areas so that there won’t be any energy transfer obstructing the app from doing what it is supposed to do. No dice. It tracked 1 of my last 90 or so shots … The data only registered after I tapped the screen to see if it was actually working. Maybe the app is busted? Maybe I’m busted? HELP?.Version: 1.6.0

Can be frustrating!Firstly I just want to say for the money this is all that awful but certainly is frustrating. I’m fairly familiar with my yardages and I found this app just shouted random numbers at me. I would hit a 5 iron fat and get a reading of 150 yards then straight out the middle and get 115 yards? I altered the camera and angles and lighting and still couldn’t get a reading I felt was accurate. Occasionally you would get some read fairly well but if your looking to seriously understand your yardages it not ideal. Comparing to the garmin G80 and some of the top end launch monitors I guess for £6.99 a month you could have abit of fun with it and after all it is just your phone or tablet. In the future I think they will only improve and get better but for now I just can’t enjoy the experience..Version: 1.3.3

Idea is goodNot even close would not trust 20-30m out on nine iron don’t think can handle higher swing speeds?.Version: 1.5.2

Worked properly some of the timeTried the Pro free trial initially. Missed shots occasionally, but more often I experienced lag/misreads in the app. I would take my shot, wait for the confirmation beep, then nothing. "There's no way it didn't read that!" I said as I picked up my phone to recalibrate it, and a few seconds after I picked up my device it would beep and shout out a crazy high carry distance and shot data. I even went as far as grabbing a tape measure from my car to set up my device and range ball perfectly. Great app when it works, needs some improvement, overall a little frustrating..Version: 1.6.0

Very inaccurateI saw this app and I was very intrigued as to see how accurate it was and to see how much it could improve my game. I tried this indoor and outdoors hitting into a net a little under ten feet away and no matter if I was inside or outside, I would get readings like my 4 iron would go 72 yards and my 56 degree would go 245 yards. I even measured out how far my phone was away from the ball precisely and it still wouldn’t give me accurate results. Occasionally I got a very good reading but it was not at all what I was expecting. Great idea. Not so great execution. Guess I’ll have to go spend two grand on a skytrak.Version: 1.3.1

InaccurateDistances and carry are grossly inaccurate.Version: 1.6.0

Poor shot recognitionApp interface is really solid, simple to use. I really like the way the monitor is set up and in the ONE session I was able to get feedback, really well organized within the app. However this app (pre and post update) has abysmal shot recognition. I have gotten this to function properly once out of 10+ tries. I’m on pro version as well. The new set up is far better than the old setup, so at least the camera is in front view and not some bizarre angle. But I haven’t been able to get any shots recorded no matter what the conditions are. If you’re going to release a paid version of an app, you better make sure it does the basics first..Version: 2.0.8

Don’t waste your moneyJust subscribed to get the Pro features, specifically ball carry. I found on the lower end(PW) I was getting fairly accurate results however as I moved up the clubs the accuracy was so bad it became pointless. Flushed 5i consistently came up shorter than my 8i. What a shame and a waste of £7.Version: 1.4.0

Not accurate but gives you an ideaThe app itself is not even close to 100% accurate. For any club you hit over 170 yards take it with a grain of salt how far the carry distance went. I hit my driver 260+ yards. Using this app I've hit over 200 carry yards maybe 5 times. One of those being 300 yards. (No shot). With my 4 iron I know I hit it about 220 yards and this says I hit it maybe 180. It is very accurate when it comes to wedges though. If you go light or hard it's pretty accurate on anything under 170 yards. I have brought this to the range once and used a tripod with it and the yards were all off. When I use it inside with great lighting it works pretty well as long as you don't go past a 6 iron..Version: 1.4.0

Not so accurateI’m setting my phone 4ft behind and two feet in front and it’s giving me horrible readings. Not sure if you need to buy the app to get better reading but I’m out on the range and driving the ball 220yrds everytime and it says I’m driving 150yrds. Same with the irons totally not on par with the yardages. I like the app but do I need to pay for the subscription to get more accurate numbers..Version: 1.5.5

Iphone 14 pro support?I downloaded the pro version. And have tried it 3x at 3 locations. It is yet to sense a hit with any data..Version: 2.0.9

Just doesn’t work…The “how to” video in the app was totally confusing, so I googled for a better video and sure enough found the same guy better video…. 1. From the golf ball placed, the phone must be 4 feet apart from it. As you walk backwards from the ball. 2. The phone should be to the left side of your lead foot and about a foot and a half wide from your lead foot. 3. Camera should be facing towards the same direction your toes are pointing when at address. 4. Adjust the elevation to what the calibration wants it as, it’ll turn green when aligned. press ok. 5. Do not move the phone after calibrating at all. 6. Realize you wasted your time because none of this works. and spend $400 on a actually golf launch monitor or wait for bridgestone to re-release there app..Version: 1.6.0

Just does not workI bought the pro version but it simply does not work. Set up instructions followed to the letter both indoors and out Green screen comes up. Voice says ready. Not one shot has ever been recorded. I have cancelled my subscription and feel ripped off. I see others are getting it to work but my copy picks up nothing..Version: 1.6.0

Not badI’ve used this a few times and have gotten mixed results . There have been times where the results have been reasonably accurate and others where every shot no matter the loft went 100 yds.Version: 1.2.9

What a let downAfter so much positivity from Rick and others, I was really hoping for a cheap way to tell how far I hit the ball. Instead it almost never picks up my shot, despite trying time and time again to set it up according to the video. I paid for 1 month premium, was charged, but my account is still not premium and I do not have access to anything. Not like it matters since the app doesn’t work anyways. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. Not redownloading.Version: 1.6.0

Cool Idea, just inaccurate and impossible data readingsIf it was accurate it would be awesome. I had no issues with set up or getting it to read my data. But even though I had this off the matt and on concrete (so no vibration possible) and had the calibration lined up perfectly, it was just wrong. 9 iron shots going 190. Sand wedge going 220. Those were the outliers. But still I know I don’t average 160 9i. Or 190 7i. Also I have no idea how it could possible get an angle of attack data. When the phone is in front of your swing and there is nothing on the club to capture data..Version: 1.4.2

Not reliableClub head and ball speed far too wide ranging. Tested with driver. From 110mph to 60mph for club head and 90 to 175mph for ball speed. Launch angle and spin rate not even worth monitoring. It’s a free app for the basics, but the results don’t convince me it’s worth upgrading..Version: 1.4.2

App not workingWhen i tap on launch monitor and press start, the app refreshes and i can never get into the launch monitor screen. Are there any fixes to this?.Version: 1.5.7

Shoot visionHi , to be honest with you I was hoping this app will work fine , but after few days of trying it I’ve just give up ,nothing is working , set up it’s nightmare for indoor as well for outdoor, nothing registers not even single shot I know it’s for free trial but sorry not good experience with that.Version: 1.3.1

Black screenWhen first loading the launch monitor the image is perfect, it then goes really dark and I can only see light sources if I look at them with the camera Any ideas what's causing this? I've tried it on 2 devices (iPad Pro and iPhone 6s) and it’s the same issue Thanks.Version: 1.4.2

Phone got too hot to functionConditions: Outdoors, sunny, warm but not hot. Set-up: improved method from original version I used 12-18 months ago. Issue 1: After about 10 shots, my iPhone on a mini tripod became overheated and shut down the app. Do I need to bring a gecko sized umbrella to shade the phone? How would and umbrella or other shade affect the rear camera’s accuracy? Issue 2: I can’t find a way to get a distance call-out in the Pro version instead of ball speed..Version: 2.1.9

Doesn’t workI wanted to try the free version first. Before committing. After following all set up instructions, & double checking numerous times it was time to have a hit. Not 1 shot was detected on multiple clubs. 👎🏻.Version: 1.5.5

Would be sweet if the free feature workedSet it up and it says rotate forward till the start button shows up but it never does.Version: 1.2.6

It worked great for a whileIt worked great for a while until I tried to sign in on my iPad but it didn’t work. So I tried to sign off on my phone and it still didn’t work so I just said whatever I’ll just sing back in on my phone and then it did the same thing as my iPad did it put me back on the home screen every time I tried to sign in. Update I figured it out I was being an idiot my bad I love it it works perfectly.Version: 1.3.9

WrongIt’s just wrong, I started with a 9 iron and it said the ball speed was in the 60s. So right of the bat I was skeptical. I then warmed up a bit more then hit a 7iron which the ball speed was avg of 73. I carry my 7 iron 158ish so I knew this was wrong. Then I tried a driver saying my ball speed was 118! I know for a fact this was wrong because I got for for this driver about a year ago and the ball speed was 150 avg and I have been practicing, playing and working out almost everyday for the past year. I’m pretty sure I set it up correctly but maybe you will get better results. 🤷.Version: 1.5.9

DisappointedDownloaded this app and enjoyed using for pitching which wasn’t too bad in terms of accuracy. However, moving up the bag I found it way off on mid irons, 7 iron ranging from 120 yards to 190 on not too dissimilar shots, one even measured over 300 yards... I’m using an iPhone XS - interested in whether there are any set up tips? Update - app continues to fail I’m afraid, great concept, just not sure the phones camera is good enough to compete with even a basic made for purpose launch monitor. I’ve cancelled my subscription..Version: 1.4.0

I think it’s good?I’ve downloaded and deleted the app but it still won’t let me grant my permission for my location..Version: 1.5.9

Have to aim to highThis app doesn’t work. In the setup video it says to rotate your phone counter clockwise (white bar is on top). But I never get the green light when it’s that way. Only when it’s right side up (white bar at bottom). This forces me to have to aim to the camera to high so it won’t work. Fix this..Version: 1.4.2

Great idea but inaccurateLove the app as an idea but sadly the numbers didn’t add up. As a scratch player I know my numbers pretty close so was a bit shocked when wedges and 1/2 swing short irons were going 20+meters further than expected. I’m sure with some refinement’s this app with be a great asset to all golfers of all levels but currently the numbers can’t be trusted, well I wouldn’t be on course anyway. Another small issue was the carry being longer than total. I’m certain I don’t get 6ft off backspin on 3-4 irons. Hopefully some fine tuning from developers can get these issues sorted and if purchase the yearly subscription without hesitation..Version: 1.3.9

Was working okay…not so much anymoreHad this up and running for a garage setup. Numbers were pretty decent for a cheap app. Within 5-6 yards of my Trackman numbers and club/ball speed were relatively close too. Not sure if something happened with a software update or what, but the last few weeks of using this I can’t get anything to read indoors or outside. Deleted and downloaded again and still not working. Had to cancel subscription. Great idea and hopefully it gets some kinks worked out. Market is huge for budget launch monitors..Version: 1.5.5

Not worth the money at allIt’s not even close to accurate..Version: 1.5.5

Not consistent at allVery very disappointed with the app I see some very good reviews about it and then you look into it and see that all the people and good reviews are actually paid reviews instead of independent ones so my opinion on this is don’t use it if your looking to find some true numbers around your game , this would be ok for someone that is just trying to have a little fun.Version: 1.4.2

Needs Work but Great PossibilitiesGave it (iOS) a try in my garage range with a 7 iron and 5 iron. Didn’t read first 4 hits but then read 3 and no more after. Reset but still no reading. Understand indoors is beta so . . . . Readings on free version were so so with launch making sense but no distance. Would be nice to have a 7 day full version trial. Have looked at many on-line and You Tube reviews that seem to feel as I do. Not all that accurate but given cost still like to see it in the 95%+ area and consistent. Otherwise why? Believe it is a great 1st step but not willing to subscribe until working better with some greater accuracy. Also, would nice to have direction accuracy since this is targeted to non pros but golfers who want to improve. Understand that once accuracy and consistency improved with some more info will be worth paying a bit higher subscription price. Probably not something one needs year round but periodically could well be worth it. Hang in there with a great 1st step. As phones/technology over next couple years improve, will really help in getting this to the desired performance levels..Version: 1.3.9

Very inaccurate the first time I used itFirst time I brought it to the range to try during the trial period, and it’s very inaccurate. For reference I’ll typically hit my driver 280-300 (rarely over 300), 3w 240-250ish and 5w 230. It was recording 300-320 carry on my driver, 270 for 3w, even my irons were usually 15y long. Other metrics were off too. It recorded club speeds of over 130mph and ball speeds approaching 200. That’s long drive champion speeds. Just completely unrealistic I’ll try it again another day and upgrade my rating if it improves, but to me, this isn’t useful. **UPDATE** I tried using a towel as suggested, distances seemed to be slightly more reasonable, but there were some definite head scratchers. The driver was still the most inaccurate. I had a lot of 290-300 yard carries which is possible but unlikely, but then a random 330 would pop up. Most puzzling was the low stingers or topspin hooks that go barely 200 were being detected as 300+ drives. Even my hybrid which I’ll usually hit 215-220 was showing a 260 carry. Looking at the stats, speeds are more reasonable. 120ish club speed and 180 ball speed. Still very fast, but not as wild as before It seems that shots I can square up on are more accurate, but mishits seem to be completely random in the distance it will track. Going to have to unsubscribe for now. Hopefully it improves in the future. FYI using an iPhone X, which should be sufficient to work fairly well..Version: 1.3.7

Shot Vision is blindDid the set up , viewed the video numerous times . system says ready , registers nothing , zero , nada … moved it around , did the setup again , different positions different angles different spacing .. waste of download bandwidth..Version: 1.5.1

My distance is all the sameUsing a 9 irons to 5 all registered with almost the same carry distance. It’s frustrating..Version: 1.5.8

Wildly InaccurateNeeded a launch monitor to track shots and get my distance and shot shape dialed in and the range I’m close to is garbage. Since real monitors are $500-$2,000 I figured I’d give it a shot. On iOS with a subscription and this app is wildly inaccurate; it said I was hitting my sand wedge 140 yards, which is pretty close, but then my driver was only going 130??? Save yourself the frustration and just go to your driving range, no matter how bad it is..Version: 1.6.0

Disappointing 🙁Edit: so does sound like my phone is not new enough. Need a more up to date phone. That’s fair enough. Didn’t see there was a min phone spec Was looking forward to trying this after recently getting back into golf. Downloaded the app onto iPhone 8 and went to the driving range. Started off with the free version(just ball speed) Hit a couple of shots and got ball speed feedback. Thought this is cool. May as well try the 1 week free trial. So set that up and went to hit some more balls….. Absolutely nothing. Phone would say ready, light would be on. Ball in the zone. Hit a shot and nothing would happen. Then my phone would get hot and app become unresponsive. Reset the app. Try again. Same thing. No recording. Went back to just hitting golf shots and unsubscribing. Takeaway. Complete wast of time (at least on iPhone 8) Dunno if there’s a min phone spec..Version: 2.0.4

Useless. A waste of $40The many inconsistencies far outweigh any actual stats that it might occasionally capture….Needs massive improvement! I spend much more time dealing with the app’s problems than I do hitting balls. Frustrating to say the least. I want to like this app but it makes me reset it every few shots, it fails to capture frequently and the audible setting fails regularly as well. It distracts me more than it helps me. Maybe a future version will be worthwhile..Version: 2.0.8

No thanks,If it reads the shot at all it is so inaccurate. Not worth your trouble..Version: 1.6.0

It’s okI have the paid version and it can sense a bad shot pretty well. But when I hit it pure it gives strange readings. Today it said my swing speed is 130 mph and carry is 288 with 7 iron. Guess I’m going on tour. But maybe not since this app says my drives only go 200 yards. It does well 60% of the time. I can tell when I hit my average 7 iron and it says carry is 150 yards. If I don’t hit it that well it says fewer yards so there is some value. Occasionally after I hit it just says busy and have to start a new session..Version: 2.1.9

I need proPlease make the pro version for free..Version: 1.6.0

Not worth it....even if freeIt doesn’t pick up the shots I hit despite setting it up correctly. When it does finally get one shot, the ball speed and club speed are like a child’s!.Version: 1.2.9

Not accurate… no demo function available after updateI hit hybrid more than 200 m and this app says 175 m,And didn’t store my result properly so I had to update the app,Causing no more free version..Version: 2.0.2
