Google Tasks: Get Things Done for Negative User Reviews

Tasks iPhone app needs more attentionI love the fact that Google made this Task app very simple and easier to use. However, it has some flaws for iPhone. There is no notification badge appears when I miss any tasks notification. I would like to see these features to the Tasks (iPhone) app: 1. Notification badge 2. Option to customise the notification sounds. 3. Ability to share the list with another Gmail account..Version: 1.100

Bare MinimumThis is a very basic task manager. For the simplest of tasks that aren't time sensitive, this might do. But the lack of integration of Google Tasks into Google Calendar for mobile devices means you can't view tasks in amongst calendar reminders and appointments on mobiles. There's also been a few times where the reminder alert hasn't triggered on time. So, basic tasks without a deadline? Ok. For anything time critical? Find something else..Version: 1.8.200124

Could be way betterShould be colour coded and subtasks should also be lined up and reordered easily. Sequencing is a major part of getting tasks done , and working with ambiguity, so should be optimising the user experience. Cheers.Version: 1.6.190528

Simple, but not good enough.I love the simplicity. I love that the UI doesn’t give me a headache when I open the app. But like 99% of the other reminder apps out there, it’s really annoying to have to manually set an alert every time you make a reminder. If I set a reminder, I want the app to let me know! If Tasks had a natural language parsing feature like its competitor it’s on its way to being the best simple reminder app out there..Version: 1.6.190528

Good, but could be definitely be better. The mobile app needs to have all the functionality that the desktop app does. Mobile only users want to access all the features without having to go to a computer desktop to do something simple such as rearrange lists. Plus this app needs some people would prefer larger text and different colours to choose from for text and list titles/background. I’d even be happy to pay $1-2 AUD per month for additional features - but make it optional please. Not everyone can afford subscriptions..Version: 1.81

Not quiteGood enough app but doesn’t always let you know when a task has been missed when it is a repeated task. So I’m not always sure if it has been completed or if the app has not flagged it as read which doesn’t really help with the purpose of the app. If this was fixed it would be pretty spot on.Version: 1.83.0

Tasks number on iconIt would be nice if the icon showed whether you have tasks without having to open app.Version: 1.86.0

Needs more featuresThe features that are there work really well but could do with more features 1. Sub tasks do not show in the list until you click into the main task 2. I’d really like to be able to set notifications on a per list basis 3. Drag and drop list items into order.Version: 1.42

Better than remindersI was waiting for google tasks to get updates which would allow dates/times so I can replace Apple reminders with it. Now that is has all that, I absolutely love it, being able to have it connected to my email account regardless of which device I’m using. However, few little fixes would be great. I like to have my tasks listed in order of date, but when I choose this setting, the order of time is not reflected. I feel like the point of this setting is to have everything in chronological order. Once that is fixed, it should feel even more organized. Also, I feel like the time should show on the side of each task without me having to click on them..Version: 1.6.190528

If only there were a Tasks App to improve thisThe app itself seems fine but Google still hasn't solved the issue (or is unwilling to address it) of allowing more than one level of sub tasks. This is highly cumbersome to productivity when it used to simply be this way. It is such an inconvenience I've tried one task app after another looking to replace this but the baseline problem is that I use gmail & the tasks are integrated there. I may need to look into switching my email over which would be a bummer but I'm leaving this here in hopes that a developer will actually listen... Additionally, the app itself regularly opens the microphone / voice input when none was clicked instead of just opening the keyboard when a new task or sub task is started. Another item needing to be fixed that wasn't broken....Version: 1.94

I don’t get why people like thisA) It can’t be “shared” into. Google doesn’t support the share function in iOS for some reason. For example if you are on Apple Fitness+ and want to share the workout to remind yourself to do a workout on a specific day as a workaround until Fitness+ gets schedules then nope out of luck. Can’t do it but you can do this with Microsoft Todo and TickTick and Todoist. B) No Siri integration like MS Todo or TickTick or AnyDo or Todoist. C) Thankfully that added support for Hey Google and removed the reminder/tasks from a buried Google Assistant page but it’s a manual process to do. So if you didn’t do it you’re stuck using Assistant page for reminders or manually importing them using the option in the app D) Doesn’t support badges so if you get a reminder it’s hidden unless you look at the app, widget or happen to pull down the notifications page on iOS. And lastly it’s not an attractive app. The only thing going for it is the Google ecosystem and that it’s “free” to use. It’s the least useful reminder/ToDo app especially on iOS. Seriously there’s way better options out there. This is for the diehard Google nut more than anyone else..Version: 1.82

Bad battery drainI have a newish iphone with great battery life and noticed my battery draining fast when using this app. Checked the battery usage in iPhone settings and saw I used this app for a total of 5 minutes actively and 5 minutes inactively (10 minutes total) and it drained 31% of my battery. Devs need to pay attention to app optimisation..Version: 1.3.181031

Somewhat helpful but maybe a little too simpleThe integration of the tasks into mail and the calendar is helpful and the task list works well on a very basic level. A few additional features would make it genuinely helpful: 1. Replace the scrolling time options (iPhone) when setting a time for a reminder with the ability to simply type in the time. This would be much easier and faster. 2. Swipe left on a reminder to snooze it. Provide the options to snooze it until another day/time similar to the snooze function in Mail. 3. Sub-tasks need to appear as sub tasks, not in a separate list. On iPhone it’s impossible to see that tasks have sub-tasks which means they can be missed. Additionally, when viewing tasks by date the sub-tasks show up in the list at the bottom totally out of context. This is unnecessary and annoying. 4. Ability to share task lists with other users in one’s organisation would be helpful. 5. Ability to move tasks from one list to another on iPhone is necessary..Version: 1.31

Good but not completeThis is an easy and simple app to use that gets the job done however the fact that it cannot be integrated with the Google calendar app, in my opinion is a major set back. The tasks on the app sync with the desktop calendar but not on the calendar app is really puzzling. It would make the app experience, and many others for that matter, such as google keep if, so much better if they were all integrated. The benefits of this would be appreciated by many as it is clear from other reviews that people have a similar opinion. Surely this would put Google way ahead of their competitors if they simply implemented this one small but impactful feature. Having said this it primarily gets the job done and I will continue to use this for the time being, hoping that they will fix the issue. In all, good but not complete..Version: 1.3.181031

Synchronizing task completion is awfulMarking a task complete only truly happens upon opening the Tasks app. If a task is marked complete from a push notification, it doesn’t sync & show as having been completed across other devices or on Google Calendar…that task will still show as active. Only after opening the Tasks app will it then complete the task. This defeats the entire point of having the option to mark something complete from a notification. Likewise, if a task is marked complete in Google Calendar, the phone app will still notify you that the task is overdue, & the notification of that task will remain on the phone until the Tasks app is opened…only then does it sync, finally marking the item as complete..Version: 1.48

Too Disorganized in Date ModeI downloaded this app thinking, finally, a simple and clean UI that lets me create subtasks with due dates and room for notes. The bad part is when switching to view your list via Due Date. Say you have a sub task with its own due date. It will get separated from the main task and when clicking on it, have no ties to the main task. An example would be having a main task with a client’s name. And the sub task that says “send invoice”. When clicking on the sub task, there’s no indication to who the client is because it doesn’t link to the primary task. So if you have multiple subtasks that say “send invoice”, you wouldn’t know who it’s referring to. I’m back on Trello and it’s much easier. It’s a bummer because I love Google products but this one isn’t there yet..Version: 1.13

Used to be good....In a rare miss-step for Google, they removed the online functionality that used to exists for Tasks, relegating it to a small area of Gmail. In the past, the main appeal of the Tasks app was that I could use the webpage to populate various complicated work lists, and then use the App to monitor them out of the office. Sadly this is no longer very practical. The good news is Microsoft To-Do has been given a huge overhaul and is now an excellent replacement!.Version: 1.6.190528

Bare-bones but nice UX and UIWill appeal to minimalists who don't need a lot of features like timed task reminders or repeating tasks. It's lacking integration with Google calendar which seems like a no-brainer, and also lacking integration with Google Reminders in Inbox. It feels like there are 50 different ways you can create tasks and reminders in Google's ecosystem, none of them talk to each other. Google just needs a simple way to take notes (Keep is great) and a simple way to make tasks with reminders that are accessible from Gmail and Calendar - hopefully this app will be the answer to this conundrum..Version: 1.0

GoodGoogle Tasks is very good and I find it simpler to use than Google Calendar, especially with the included widget for the iPhone home screen. Pros: Unlike Calendar Reminders, Google Tasks that are not completed stay on top. Much simpler to use in Google Calendar than Calendar events. But you can still create a task with a specific time for an appointment which is nice. This is subjective because if you need more options with an appointment then you should go with Google Calendar. The widget for iPhone is much nicer in my opinion than the Google Calendar widget. Cons: Can’t search Google Tasks. Why? This is such basic functionality for a task list that it really blows my mind that you can’t search your Tasks. If you have lots of tasks in various lists and quickly becomes unwieldily. Unlike calendar, Tasks can only use one color. Summary: All in all, I really like this app and I started using it in place of Google Calendar. If Google could just add a search feature, it would really improve this app exponentially.Version: 1.81

Calendar and Tasks apps don’t sync well in phoneThe app has good potential but it needs to be linked with the Google Calendar. This function works well on a computer but the apps barely speak to each other on a phone. Personally it feels like the Google productivity series of tools lack a central platform (especially a mobile one since I assume most people would manage their time when they are in transit) where I can manage all my events and tasks, or could I be missing something?.Version: 1.6.190528

Make a way to view previous day task list and complete itemsSomedays I end work at 11:45 pm so when I get home to do tasks/chores/to-do list items it is already the next day and I cant see the previous list. If there was a way to add a tab to view previous day this would change everything for me and id definetly have to leave a 5 star instead.Version: 1.101

Works well but more options neededIt works, and syncs quickly across devices. But options to customise settings are very limited. 1. Would love to be able to set the ‘order by date’ setting as default rather than having to set it individually for each list 2. It would be helpful if you could set new tasks to be allocated to today’s date by default. It’s a pain to have to select a date for each task you add. It would also be nice to be able to drag and drop a task from today to a different date, rather than having to edit the task and select a new date. 3. I’d like to be able to see my completed tasks ‘crossed out’ or ‘ticked’ on the active list rather than it automatically disappearing onto the completed list...I like to be able to see what I’ve completed as well as what I have left to complete. 4. The ‘completed tasks’ list would be better if it could also be separated by date in the same way as the active list, then it would be easy to see what has been completed on a specific day.Version: 1.13

CrashesYour update just crashed the app… please fix I use this everyday..Version: 1.99

Pros: free, integrates with Google Calendar. Cons: Everything elseIf you use Google calendar, and want a free, bare-bones To-Do List app that will show up on said calendar - this is that, and only that. If you need a task app that isn’t categorically the worst one available: flee. Besides the fact of Google being the online privacy equivalent of an all-seeing, all-knowing God moonlighting as a marketing executive: There is no search function (yes, this is the same Google), recurring tasks completely disappear if they are not currently due, tasks can only have one set of subtasks - which cannot be hidden, long notes can get truncated, no tags or hierarchical sorting, mobile inconsistencies, undeletable default list, I’m sure there was more… Again, this is a Google app. A handful of meaningful changes would put this top of the heap. But here we are..Version: 1.91

Not there yetVisually it’s a nice app, and intuitive to use. But I am looking for an app to replace the default reminders app so I can access my lists across all my devices. Unfortunately this app still doesn’t have all the key features; such as time dependent reminders (can only remind by day not by hour/min), and share and edit lists with others. I do like the option to add more detail, and sub tasks to the lists however..Version: 1.0.180426

Nice but lacking.Simple app with nice design but lacks features like setting a specific time and repeating. The repeating feature if implemented should also have a skip feature. For example I don’t want school reminders during the holidays. Would give 3.5 stars..Version: 1.0

Good but needs some tweakingI really enjoy this app, very simple and works well with my google calendar. My main frustration is sub tasks not being indented and looking exactly like everything else on my list. Additionally I enjoy the repetition feature but I would like for both instances of a task to show up if one is already overdue at the moment it will only show one copy of the task at a time..Version: 1.34

Almost perfectI just need to be able to collapse the sub tasks. When I hold the top tasks it gives a note saying 3 sub tasks included but when I let go it’s all still there. Also I need to be able to synchronise some of this to my calendar - but might not be needed since it has its own calendar. But that collapsing sub tasks es mui importante - thanks Google..Version: 1.19

Missing option to define task block sizeAt present Task block when seen on calendar is of 30 minutes. If Tasks has option to define a custom time block I.e. end time along with start time, then it will become so easy to manage calendar. Events and tasks then can live together in one place. Allowing users like me to better manage my day..Version: 1.66.1

Good intentions but bad user experienceGood app but user experience is very bad. Do something about it Google. Learn from other tasks apps especially Apple Reminder.Version: 1.39

Good App But Room For ImprovementLove the interconnectivity with Google Calendar. Easy to use. However, could use several improvements. Definitely needs a widget. Ideally, one in the Notification Center where you can mark tasks as complete. Should be able to adjust in Google calendar the length of tasks (change to 15 min duration). Also, needs more customization such as different colors for different lists. Honestly I think making it more similar to the reminder app would be a positive. More ability to edits and create tasks in Google calendar would be great. Also, If possible there should be a way for notifications to say on Lock Screen even after you open your phone (the way reminders app notifications do). Finally, better connectivity to the fantastical app. In the fantastical app, times of tasks are not shown and they show up as all day..Version: 1.35

Notification badge doesn’t show due or even overdue tasks, or work at all!Pretty much every tasks app shows a badge (the red dot on the app icon) with the number of tasks to do that day or, depending on settings, the number that are overdue. Not this one. It doesn’t display a numbered badge at all! Huh?! What on Earth is the point of that? Do you have tasks to do today? Any you have not done yet? How many? With Google tasks app you have no idea without distracting yourself with constant opening of the app to check! Crazy..Version: 1.28

Je prefere to doBon j’aime un peu l’app mais je préfère largement l’app Microsoft to do mais avec to do je ne peut pas synchroniser les taches avec google agenda donc… j’aimerais juste que l’option sois possible.Version: 1.104

Still needs work!!For several years I was happily using another app integrated to Google tasks. Sadly the developer didn’t update it to latest Google standards so I’ve had to swap to using native app. My frustrations: - Badge not working for me so I keep missing tasks. Amazing how much the badge count reminds you after dismissing reminder. - I used to have daily tasks like paying for car parking. As my needs are a difficult pattern, the other app was so much better. It would generate next task upon marking current one completed and I could then mark future tasks complete immediately ie buy 3 days of car parking, Mark 3 days complete. Google just generates on the day so you never really get a decent view of upcoming tasks in the app. I’m seriously thinking of ditching Google Tasks now and moving to Microsoft as their app is so much better for my needs..Version: 1.8.200124

I miss remindersGoogle had me convert my reminders into tasks but the functionality is a lot different and not in a good way. All-day Reminders would get grouped together on my calendar. But tasks are not. They are displayed row after row on my calendar which is overwhelming when combined with the events. Also, reminders would just move to the next day if not completed. Tasks do not. They will show up under “pending tasks” the following day but then will disappear after 30 days and you have to go into the tasks app to find them. So now I have to remember to look there and start a new task list called no-date because otherwise all the tasks for future dates are all mixed in with the past and current tasks and it’s a big mess..Version: 1.82

An Honest Review:This could be do so much better. I like this mobile app overall, but its like a old friend who’s flaws you turn a blind eye to... It feels half-baked. Organisation options and functions are withheld in areas with no logic or reason. It wont sync properly with the desktop version. Lists cannot be reordered. It feels like the UX team has been misinformed about the app. If you’re happy with your current organisation app stick with it..Version: 1.100

The Ugliest Icon & Most Basic Of Their AppsIt might just be me, but how did this icon make it through the design process? Overall I like Google’s design language, but this is unrefined. The app itself is really basic, it works, does what you’d expect and syncs well, but it’s not intuitive. In comparison with all the other Task apps available, this is near the bottom for usability for me..Version: 1.41

Simplistic and that’s a good thing. The app is very similar and to the point which is perfect for tasks. One thing that could be improved is the UI. The hamburger menu button should be accessible by a gesture swipe from the left side of the screen. Or remove the hamburger menu button completely and replace with a bottom UI bar that everyone is using now. It will be more accessible to all folks versus right hand or left hand dominant users. The create task button is in a different place from other google apps as well which is a little confusing, but not a huge gripe. The last issue I find is the inability to view multiple lists at once. I constantly have to click the menu button and switch lists and that drives me absolutely bonkers..Version: 1.11.200513

Sharing permissionIt should be better if we can invite another family member to edit the task together.Version: 1.79

Fun but OutdatedSimple and fun but need updates for new features like widgets for Lock Screen, Time controlled notification, Auto read from email and smart task management..Version: 1.79

Please add a way to search for tasksI have been using Google Tasks within Google Calendar for years. It’s ability to layer tasks on my calendar made it my task management tool of choice over all others since I use Google Calendar every day. I needed a way to access, add to & edit my tasks on the go, like on the subway, when I think about things I have to do & process my lists. Because Google didn’t have an app, I used GTasks. When Google finally came out with this app I was so excited. I am completely shocked, however, that there is no search feature. This is essential and it seems pretty obviously from an end user work flow standpoint that this would be necessary. When I am thinking about a particular task that I know I have put on one of my lists and want to find it to add to it or adjust the due date; it doesn’t make sense that I have to manually search through hundreds of tasks to find it. That is inefficient. Isn’t the purpose of technology to make things faster & easier..Version: 1.5.190224

Good but limitedI use this as my “go to to do” and find it good and simple. I can see that it’s tricky to keep task software easy to use and avoid overloading with features. Having said that here are 3 suggestions for improvement. 1. The ability to add a string of tasks without having to go out to “add task”every time. 2. More than one level of sub-task 3. Apple Watch functionality..Version: 1.11.200513

Works, but S-L-O-W to SyncWorks, but S-L-O-W to Sync. And just generally a sluggish app, even on my iPad pro..Version: 1.82

Great except lack of location based remindersI switched to google apps to avoid the "lock in" ecosystem of apple and this is mostly the same as iOS reminders except that I can access it on desktop and anywhere else which is useful. One thing though: The app lacks location based reminders which iOS reminders had. For some reason this feature is on Google Keep app which I also use. Minor inconvenience but why? Why have two google apps with a reminder feature and the one specifically for reminders lacks a type of reminder. I use keep for notes and this app for reminders.Version: 1.74

App works for bare bones, not much customizabilityEdit: they’ve added a widget thankfully :) Original review: Used the website for a while, just downloaded the app and so far okay but a few features are left to be desired. 1) on the app it would be nice to be able to collapse the sub tasks. They (sub tasks) take up a lot more space and it’s overwhelming to see every single thing. 1-b) it would be helpful to be able to manually change the order of Lists. 2) please work on adding a widget for the iPhone Home Screen. 3) please add the ability to add layering subtasks. I mean in a way where let’s say your task is - “Write a paper” > complete 1st draft [sub task] > create outline [2nd sub task] >> find sources [sub task for create outline]. Also slightly annoying that on the website most of the actually useful ways to organize lists (tags, colors, etc) are pay-walled. Especially the ability to have more than one board. At least give us one of those things please..Version: 1.57

Please let tasks with Subtasks be repeatable :(Other than that, great app. Love that I can use this across different OSs..Version: 1.89

No share sheet extension?A good first start, clean and simple, but no share sheet extension which limits functionality on iOS. Want to be able to share an email or website and attach to task? Not possible unless you manually copy and paste which isn't ideal. Hoping it will be added soon then it will be great..Version: 1.0.180426

Harder to use with the changesIt was great when this was incorporated into Google Calendar and easy to manage the Reminders. Now that’s in a separate app, it feels like tasks are harder to manage although currently, the app keeps crashing on the iPhone as soon as you open it, even with a new update some 13 hours ago. It would be good to be able to just manage this in the Google Calendar app again. We don’t need another app!.Version: 1.90.0

ABSOLUTELY LIVID!After years of inserting tasks i had saved for 3 years into my google tasks list that helped me and family out of poverty. My go to for keeping me and family on track. Found out today that after deleting “all the completed tasks” resulted in deleting my entire task list and there is no way to recover that list. Gone! Absolutely livid!!! I expected more from Google..Version: 1.84

Good but ...I wish I could search and sort my lists. Other than that I use Tasks all the time..Version: 1.6.190528

Great Potential but Needs ImprovementExcellent that tasks syncs with Google Calendar and is visible in the Google Calendar widget for iPhone, HOWEVER 1) If I set a task for Friday at 11:00am, it will show up in the Google calendar widget a day before through end of scheduled time (11:30am), but then it disappears! And doesn’t come back until the next day as “Pending task”. Why doesn’t pending task show up immediately after task time frame passes? It means for a big portion of that day I don’t see tasks I might want done before EOD 2) notifications are NOT persistent on Lock Screen for iPhone. They disappear after an hour, WHY 3) tasks and calendar don’t auto sync, you have to open both apps 4) Pending task doesn’t show up in widget until you open widget. In general widget doesn’t necessarily seem to auto update reliably 5) NO LOCK SCREEN WIDGET Otherwise great app and functionality.Version: 1.98.0

Good startClean and simple, needs the ability to only see items when they are due. I don’t need to know about something until due/start date..Version: 1.51

And still no text search?Somewhere, someone is designing a calculator that can’t add..Version: 1.28

Task listI have found task list very helpful but would like to be able to cross events out on my calendar as I do with tasks but still have the event on the calendar for record.Version: 1.88

Great for quick use, but pretty limited capabilities.I use this app to list urgent tasks (whereas I use Google Keep to log tasks that aren’t necessarily timely). I like that it is simple and straightforward for this purpose; I can quickly add and cross off new tasks. It is a bit cumbersome at times. I liked the idea that I could add sub-tasks, but you can’t check then off if you are clicked on the master task in edit mode; you can only delete the sub-task entirely or complete the master task, but makes the sub-task capability kind of pointless. Thus, I stopped using sub-tasks. My feed is now very full and unorganized, which is a bummer. One other complaint is that you can’t add a voice memo like you can on Keep. I do think this app has a lot of potential, though, and Google does a good job of making reasonable updates without too much time passing by, in my opinion. I assume it will be adjusted to fit these criteria in the bear future..Version: 1.7.191126

Search and longer fieldsA good app and I have moved to it but unless I’m mistaken then no search which is ironic. Also longer text fields for notes do not show/edit properly. A workaround is that both search and editing of longer notes work fine from google calendar. Hopefully these things are on the backlog..Version: 1.70

Has potential.I love the concept of tasks because its easy and works with my Calendar, but it could just be so much more, especially when it comes to the widget. The widget will just show your tasks in the order you put them on there, not the date that you need the task done by. So currently I have a task for two days from now showing up on my widget before my tasks from today. You also cannot complete a task from the widget — you have to go into the app to complete a task, meaning the widget is just for you to look at rather than interact with. Also, when you close out of Tasks, it will only show your tasks for the list you exited out on, even if there are no tasks or they don’t fill up the space. Its just very inefficient..Version: 1.53

👍Love this app, it would be even better if you could change the order of your sub- lists like you can the main list..Version: 1.59

Stop grouping all past tasks togetherPlease, please, please stop grouping all incomplete tasks prior to today under a single heading of "Past". I don't always manage to do everything on my task list and it's important for me to know what was due yesterday as opposed to what was due last week. Why would I want everything in the one category with all the dates hidden?? And the bizarre thing is that they're not even in date order; they're in a completely random order! WHY??? Does anyone even read these reviews? It's impossible to communicate with Google. Such a frustrating company..Version: 1.48

Good startA very simple tasks app. I wish that it was integrated w/ the calendar app, so i could drag and drop tasks into available time slots, and check them off all through the calendar. I also wish the tasks could be added to a calendar group (so they would be different colours, as I’m a visual thinker). The app is a good start, but it needs to be integrated w/ other Google tools..Version: 1.5.190401

Need cleaner interfaceInterface needs to be much cleaner. Just tasks & numbering if at all.Version: 1.91

Urgent improvements I hope tasks could make1. (Make it able to move more than one tasks at the same time) Long press one and then tap others, so that users could drag and move more than one tasks up and down in order to change its positions 2. Add function that users could add one ore more picture into a certain task that they want to add pictures into to remind users of extra images info. ( long words short: users could add photos) the picture could be made “only visible when certain tasks with pictures imported are tapped, so when certain tasks won’t show complete images but only a mark or some signal to show that “ this task has images imported).Version: 1.101

Too little too late? It’s nice the google have implemented time based reminders and the ability to import for google assistant but it’s a bit of a case of too little too late. These should have been included on day one of the app launch, not nearly a year later. How bloody lazy can you be google? Silly question, they have poorly maintained several of their own apps over the last couple of years which is why I’m reviewing this here and not on a pixel phone (which I had one of last last year). So it’s a bit basic but overall it’s ok for a free app. Similar experience to apples own reminders. However, there are much better paid reminder apps out there such as Things. You have to buy the app but there are no subscription costs so it pays for itself in that respect..Version: 1.5.190224

Great integrationGoogle Tasks works well with my Google Workspace setup. I like how I can see all my tasks linked to Docs and Gmail. I wish they had a Today icon next to the starred icon for ease of use. It would also be great to have location reminders, that integrates with Google Maps..Version: 1.73

It’s good but coming from Google, it could be much better! It does the necessary but it doesn’t have a search function which from a company that is mainly used for search is kind of ironic ...Version: 1.98.0

Good but...As a newly founded business just starting up there are obviously a lot of tasks that need doing. As there are a few of us it would be ideal if we could share task lists with other google accounts. This would make getting things done a lot more efficient as we could see what needs doing, what’s been done and any other details about the task at hand. Hopefully you can add this feature soon as other task apps seem to include this. Many thanks.Version: 1.19

Why is the google tasks app so much worse than others?Almost feels that very little thought has gone into the design of this app... 1. the settings don’t allow change in appearance - i’m stuck with white on black 2. button to exit settings doesn’t work - have to close the app every time 3. can’t show all tasks in one dated list 4. can’t monitor numbers of tasks on any list without counting them manually 5. can’t seem to drag and drop tasks between days easily i wish there was another app i could use to sync to google, but it seems that Go Tasks (which was awesome) has stopped syncing and most others are either just as clunky as google tasks or expensive. Designing a good lists/to do app should be pretty straightforward - Google has got it so wrong.Version: 1.8.200124

Reminders not as good as the Reminder App on iPhoneI’d love Tasks to have as much functionality as the Reminders app on iPhone. Although you can set a reminder on Tasks it doesn’t give a notification on the screen each day like I ask it to.Version: 1.23

Half cooked ?Modern design UI, but let down by functionality. I understand that is running as an wrap app for what it is on the sever/ desktop mode side but a task might have an occurrence scheduled. I see no option for that. Rid off of the google calendar features as tasks or reminders and implement the above request, and you/we will see how the users are they going to use it. Thanks.Version: 1.3.181031

Needs Notification SoundsNo reminder or task app is functional without a notification sound and this is where this app fails. I get a banner in my notification center but no alert sound to go along with it. But I love that I can import my emails into a task! It's easy to write a quick description and set a date/time to be reminded. However, despite the easy to see bullet-point layout and organization there isn't much customization. We can't change the order of tasks manually after creating them, just by date or order the task was created. There should also be an option to add a task reminder for multiple days in a week rather than creating sub tasks to do so. Just fix the notification sound issue and it's a 4 star worthy app!.Version: 1.13

Solid app needs a few more featuresI used to use Wunderlist and since Microsoft biught them out and not released anything with significance, I’ve been look for another app. Well, i just upgraded to the new google and I saw this really simple app. It’s a great start, but it would be helpful to put things on repeat in the same way the calendar app is used where you can repeat tasks every week or every 1st Monday of the month etc. Also, it would help if we could share this app with other people we may be working with. Other things; To have a comment section would be nice. To be able to have printable lists would be really great as well. Wunderlist even had a place where people could vote on features and create ideas where people could vote which allowed developers to know where to focus as they followed what their dedicated users wanted. That would be an amazing feature as we could know that our voice counts. There are some more things, but maybe you can start with these. I will move my rating to 5 stars when I start seeing these things integrated. Thanks for what you have so far.Version: 1.2.180718
