Scanwell Health for Negative User Reviews

Unnecessarily IntrusiveI used this app to test my 7yr old child for COVID. The app itself is easy to use and well-developed. I appreciated the video guidance and found it clear and helpful, and I appreciated the clarity of the interpreted result. HOWEVER, I take issue with several things and, had I read the reviews and understood this in advance, I would not have used this test: - I should not be REQUIRED to download an app for assistance administering the test and interpreting results; this should be optional - If I choose to download the app, I should not be REQUIRED to create an account, ESPECIALLY if the primary benefit to me is simply retaining test history; I don’t need the app to manage this for me and do not want an account - If I choose to create an account, my full legal name, gender, birthdate, phone number, and address should not be REQUIRED if they are not needed in order to interpret test results; I can understand age and maybe gender, but not the rest - I should not be REQUIRED to enter this same personal information for my YOUNG CHILD; this is ridiculously inappropriate Honestly, that final point was the last straw. Going forward, I will be avoiding this app and Scanwell if at all possible. Also, I see no good reason for this app to be rated 17+. That’s dumb..Version: 6.8.0

This test is incredibly frustrating! This test kit was the worst we have used. It relies so heavily on the app that when the app is slow or not working properly you are not even able to have readable instructions to analyze your own result. The app instructions wanted you to only have one of the packets open for 5 minutes but took longer than 5 minutes to wait for the app to cycle through the instructions. Trying to scan the test stick was a terrible experience too. The test stick was too tilted or too far away or too close. I wanted to give up and use the instructions to help me interpret the results, but again, there were none included!.Version: 7.0.0

Overkill for meI am fully capable of administering a COVID test and making sense of the results myself without the app, but that is not how this product is designed to work. I will not buy this test again. This product does not explain how to make sense of test results yourself. You must use the app. When using the app it forces you to wait 15 minutes then gives you five minutes to take a picture of the results after which it interprets the test. This means if you administer the test without the app then start the app later to make sense of the results you must wait an additional 15 minutes. This forced guidance is probably very useful to some but is overkill for me. In fact, I will recommend this app to my parents because they need this sort of guidance, it’s just too much for me..Version: 6.9.1

Irresponsible company. 2 lines means negative! This is such an irresponsible and dangerous idea. They don’t offer any instructions or guidance outside of the app. If you’ve taken a bunch of at home tests before you might well decide to ignore the app and just use it yourself. If you do this you will almost certainly get a false positive. This test has 2 control lines instead of the normal 1 control line. 2 lines means negative and 3 lines means positive. And they don’t tell you this anywhere! It’s impossible to know that this is true. My friend started sleeping in the same room as another friend who had COVID because after taking this test and seeing 2 lines she thought she was infected. She caught COVID from that friend as a direct result of this company’s irresponsibility.Version: 7.1.0

Likely a good test, poor implementation of appThis is a review mainly on the at home COVID-19 test. It is a decent idea to integrate an app that will allow for ease of use and interpretation, but as others have pointed out, places a huge barrier in testing. Not only do people have to view the videos each time you test (which potentially adds time and stress to the process), there does not appear to be an option for those who may not be native English speakers or those who may struggle with some of the scanning steps. This defeats the main utility of a quick, easy, and accessible test for people to stay safe, informed, and protect their communities. This can be a good product, but please improve this process, including removing the video requirements for those who have already viewed it, provide more transparent personal data collection information, provide more languages on the app, and include a result interpretation option without the use of the app/scanning..Version: 6.8.0

Read the Fine PrintRead their Privacy Policy. Scanwell is going to share your data with whomever they choose. This includes your personal information, health information, contact information, images from your phone, and more. Their criteria? Whatever is necessary to protect their interests. No choices here. They are not about helping the consumer. They are using a need (figuring out if you have Covid or not) and leveraging it for their own gain. They specifically say that if you don’t want your data shared - don’t use their product. I choose that option. Caveat emptor! I just wasted $30 bucks on this piece of spyware. Don’t be fooled. This app WILL mine your data to be used for whatever promotes their agenda. Welcome 1984! Welcome, George O..Version: 6.9.1

Frustrating at so many levels.I had to download this app for Covid testing. Several reasons why this app is terrible: 1. You need to enter your name, address, phone number and DOB in order to do a COVID test at home. If there is more than one adult testing, each of them needs to create a new account. There is no option to skip any of these. I would have avoided this test if this was mentioned on the box. 2. The app makes you watch instruction videos each time you do the test. We have four people in the family and I only need instructions once. This app doesn’t let you move forward until you watch the videos each time. You need to wait 15 minutes while the app is open in order to find out your result. 3. There is no information online or anywhere else about how to read the test results visually. The only way to find out the result is to use the app. I’m so frustrated by this test that I’ll probably return the ones I haven’t used. Its so obvious that the product and the app are designed around collection of personal data and not around user convenience. This is my first time reviewing an app..Version: 6.8.0

Not inclusiveI feel like this app does the job— the covid test is easy to take and the instructions are easy to follow… IF you have a smartphone and IF you speak English. Two of my kids have received these from their schools and I genuinely feel sorry for the families whose first language is not English as there are no other language options. It’s a shame really. Also, not everyone is wealthy enough to have access to the kind of technology needed here so the fact that you MUST use the app in order to take the test is also a bit exclusionary. Do better..Version: 6.8.0

Beware segmented video only instructionsThere is no way to read all the instructions before beginning. If it’s your first time doing the test, because parts are timed, and you don’t know ahead of time that reflective surfaces won’t work, you are left awkwardly moving everything to a new location. Also, again since there are no written instructions to review ahead of time and it’s timed, if you have hand arthritis, beware. Packaging is difficult to open and you must squeeze a bottle with finger tips. If there were complete WRITTEN instructions, you could review and prepare before beginning the procedure..Version: 7.3.0

Unnecessarily complicated and cumbersomeIf you have take any other COVID test, you realize how unnecessarily complicated and cumbersome this test is. It’s not just swab your nose, put the swab into a solution, put drops of the solution onto a test stick and wait to see 2 lines. No! This is signing up for an app where they ask you personal questions that are no ones business, then you have to scan the test with your phone so the app can identify which test it is, take a light test, scan the test again, then swab your nose put the swab into a solution, put drops of the solution on a test stick, stay on the app for 20 min, see two lines (which does not indicate that you have COVID, then scan the test results with your phone, to then learn what the actual results are. Absolutely idiotic, intrusive, and annoyingly cumbersome. I am not suffering from a chronic diseas like diabetes where you might want to track glucose levels. I just want to quickly and easily get to a test result. No wonder I (and surely many others) will never buy this thing again. A customer so annoyed that he writes a review..Version: 6.9.1

Worst of the rapid testsOk who developed this trash? 1) it takes for vet to get to the timer because it forces you to watch the how to videos every time you start a test. Sure, useful the first time - Once you have done the test (or any - they are all the same) once, you don’t need to watch the videos anymore. But you still have to and it’s frustrating and slow, especially the pediatric video. It’s very very long and unnecessary. I get the rationale - to try to force people to do it correctly, but it’s more of a legal protection it seems without true utility. 2) you have to take a picture of the card when it’s done. This is super lame. You should be able to read this manually like every other rapid test. iPhone 12 Pro and getting the lighting right takes nearly the entire allotted time to take the picture. Total waste of effort. Long story short, use this as a last resort rapid test only or you will end up having a nervous breakdown trying to get through the videos and the picture at the end. I’d rather have covid..Version: 6.8.0

Waste of timeWhat a waste of my time. In something that should have taken 17 minutes total, between reading directions, testing, and reading results, I have now spent nearly 35 minutes using this system. Having to create a profile and then scan my test stick in order to get my results???? Is that a joke?!? This is supposed to be a rapid test! It’s not rocket science! Tell me what positive and negative results look like and let me analyze my own test. I’m very glad this test was provided to me at no cost because I would be even more furious if I had spent my hard earned money on it. Not everything needs to be run through a smart phone or to make a profile to give you my information in order to interpret results..Version: 6.8.0

Waste of moneyI disagree with making a smartphone app necessary to interpret COVID test results; it’s a barrier to entry to testing, and it’s misleading if it’s not indicated on the box that you need a smartphone app to read the results. It also feels like an invasion of privacy to input all the information they require to access the testing info. After all that, the timer on the actual test doesn’t go off if you’re using another app on your phone, and if you miss scanning the results by 5 minutes, you’re out of luck; it won’t give you your results. And if you’re testing outside their customer service, there’s no immediate recourse. I won’t buy another box of these, and I’m concerned about how the company will use the information I already inputted..Version: 6.8.0

Horrible Invasion of PrivacyMost at home tests show you the results right away and assume you are smart enough to read them. If you call the help line they will tell you there is no way to read the results without signing up for the app, which requires all of your personal info including birthday, phone number, email, race, address, even your preferred pronouns. Isn’t the benefit of an at home test to allow you privacy? The results show up as lines on the test, just like other rapid home tests, but they do not include a key to read them. It takes forever to download the app, sign up, watch the videos, take the test, and wait the required amount of time before the app will give you the reading (which is obvious to the naked eye, so why not allow us to read our own tests instantly)? Just another way for big brother to gather our personal information while holding results hostage unless you agree to tell them everything about yourself..Version: 6.9.0

Exploitative, Dangerous, Unnecessary. The only COVID test that needs an app. For that reason alone, this app may cost many their lives. Not everyone has access to WiFi/an application based device. Making it a requirement for a crucially important test in a pandemic is reckless at best, a humanitarian crime at worst. My father is severely immunosuppressed. He just got back from his second stem cell transplant battling leukemia. If I am going to see him, I PCR beforehand, and take rapid tests every day. Today I get there, a place with no Internet, with these tests, and am unable to qualify myself to render the care my father needs to survive because I can’t test for COVID. I can’t test because this pain of a company is so narcissistic. Get over yourselves. Make the app accessible, not profitable. You’re sick— and not the kind that can be detected by a Scanwell test..Version: 7.1.0

Breach of PrivacyDo yourself a favor and do not use this service, go to a licensed doctor and wait the extra day for results. BDs COVID test was the only at home test I could get, but I will never use their service again. You cannot view your results unless you give BD your information and scan your test (Spoiler, you don’t need to scan it, three lines mean positive, two pink lines = control). This would be fine, except in order to view these results, you accept the terms and conditions, meaning that scanwell and BD now hold your test results and can use them as they wish to with personal identification. Do not use this service. Do not freely give away your info because they ask you to. Their test works regardless of using your smartphone to scan it, they just want to catalog your results for their personal benefit.Version: 6.8.0

There are not enough expletives available to describe thisThanks for doing the impossible and somehow making this whole experience worse! COVID has been running through my family for two weeks now, one after another. We have used lots of at-home kits in that time and this is by far the worst and most frustrating. I’ve never been more annoyed at having to download an app on my phone. All I want to do is take the *$*$*$*$ test! Every other kit includes actual instructions so that you can just take the test. With this genius kit, I have to download an app and watch 5 minutes of videos for a 15-second test. . . And, I can’t read the results! I have to scan them with my phone..Version: 6.7.3

Takes too longI guess it’s good for someone doing this for the very first time who is afraid they might do it wrong, but otherwise requiring you to watch every step by step video to do the same old test you’ve already done a few times before is tedious and irritating. Also, don’t freak when you see two lines. It doesn’t mean positive like in all the other tests. It’s like they just want to be different to force you to use your phone to scan and get their results. Also, not a fan of having to give my entire life away just for a simple antigen test. Save you money and buy the cheaper tests..Version: 6.8.0

Needing a smart phone for a covid test is ridiculousThe fact that you can’t take this test or get your results without supplying all of your information is a scam. Due to entering info and having to scan the test multiple times, this test takes 2x as long as other store bought tests. They won’t supply directions on how to test or how to read the results. This is made to be much more complicated than it needs to be. And you don’t need all of my information for this, I just know I’m gonna be receiving spam emails, calls and texts all to get a negative result. It feels like this company is taking advantage of a health crisis, and I’m sure this will all become a news story soon..Version: 6.9.1

Least user friendly test - Most expensiveZero stars is more appropriate. This test is not user friendly requiring download of an app just to access information, instructions, and results. You cannot do multiple tests at once because that would require multiple devices. There were 2 lines appearing which caused concern while waiting. There was not an indication that an app was needed with this test and if this was known before, we would not have wasted the money and others without compatible phones may be out of luck. This app might explain the increase in cost but doesn’t mean consumers would want that. The added “benefit” is not worth the added cost..Version: 6.9.0

InfuriatingI have to echo similar reviews. I feel completely taken advantage of by this manipulative test. Unlike all other rapid COVID antigen tests I’ve used, this BD Veritor/Scanwell product requires the use of an app, ostensibly because I as an end user am not capable of interpreting test results. (Also, how illogical to start with the instructions to wash my hands with soap for 20 minutes and then be forced to interact with my phone during the entire bleeping test process. Phones are typically full of more bacteria than a toilet seat!) In any case, I’m disgusted by the UX which makes PII data elements mandatory …. Information collected is NOT required to fulfill the stated purpose of keeping a record of results, and for those of us who aren’t reporting to an employer through the app, almost all PII should be optional. I nearly exploded when the app “timed out” on my toddler’s test result in the 5 minute window when my other toddler was having a meltdown. Test results have a validity window, sure, but to have zero grace period or recourse to get even a conditional read of results within the 5-10 minutes past the optimal window, considering that you took my money and my PII, but didn’t even provide me the courtesy of a simple set of printed instructions? Completely insulting and deceptive. Managing COVID testing for the under 4 crowd is bad enough. Thanks, BD Veritor, for making it exponentially worse..Version: 7.0.0

This is the dumbest way to test for CovidThis is literally the first time I have ever writ ten a review of an app, and I just want to say that this is by far the worst Covid test o have ever used. Imagine you have found yourself in the unfortunate position of having to test for Covid, and somehow this test is the only one you can find to buy in your area. Now you have to allow this company to do whatever they want with your personal information, and spend an extra 20 minutes of your life trying to test for a process that does require a smart phone and use that piece of technology to do an otherwise routine task and have it take much longer than it should have. Terrible app and deployment of a Covid test..Version: 7.0.0

Covid test diasterThis app is a travesty of software design, a feckless and desperate testament of Silicon Valley self-importance. The covid test I purchased, BD Veritor, requires the app to perform and deliver a result. Nowhere in the box are there instructions for doing so manually. You are required to download and sign up, so good luck to your grandparents who just want to know if they can leave the house again. The app itself is a mess. Never before in the history of humanity has detecting a deadly disease been relegated to an atrocious user story of this magnitude. After divulging a litany of required personal information, the instructions are still locked behind a bizarre AR environment validation that feels more like a Nintendo Wii game than a tool that will tell you if you have Covid. In a society of accelerating technology use, the answer to an analog process that takes 15 minutes isn’t to add another 20 of configuration. If this weren’t for detecting a disease that has killed millions of people worldwide, I wouldn’t mind. But this test invariably has resulted in people losing access to vital information about their health due to its hobbled attempts to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. If you bought this test and have to use this app, God help you. If you worked on the app and are seeing this, I’m sorry about the managerial failures that led to this. You did the best you could, but this entire concept was a failure from the start..Version: 6.9.1

Actually a scamI purchased and received my scanwell test strips and tested positive for a UTI. The next step was to submit your results to an outside provider that they connect you to for an additional $25. However, the connection between Scanwell and the outside provider (Lemonaid, another app available on the app store) wasn’t functioning properly. So I just downloaded the Lemonaid app and went through the process and got my prescription WITHOUT any reference to Scanwell. Also, when I chatted with Scanwell support about the issue, they said “we used to charge $25 for an exam through our app but now we use outside providers” and this extra fee is something they never mention in the process. AND when I looked on the site and the app for a refund policy it just says “the refund policy is on our website” but i looked everywhere and it’s not. So I asked support for a link to the refund policy and they completely ignored my request. All of these positive reviews fail to mention that you have to pay an additional $25 for an exam and that you don’t actually need the Scanwell test to do so. Do yourself a favor and get a way less expensive box of UTI test strips from your local pharmacy and download Lemonaid and get your prescription through there. Paying Scanwell $15 for their three tests is COMPLETELY unnecessary and frankly a scam..Version: 2.3.3

Making something so simple incredibly difficultI truly do not understand why in order to take an at home COVID test; I must download an app, register for an account, have that app check my surroundings to make sure I’m in a well lit area???, go through a million pages of instructions on said app, and then once I complete the process I CANNOT LEAVE THE APP FOR 20 MINUTES, and if I do, then I won’t know my results and will need to take another test???????? OR! If I am distracted and miss the window, then the test is no longer legible and I will have to take another test??????? Riddle me this, why do you provide a customer support number to call in these instances if all your customer support can say is “I’m so sorry I can’t help you” ?????? It’s like, “uh okay, sorry to bother you????” Additionally, you make it so the results cannot be understood unless scanned with the phone camera via the app. You are the only COVID test I have experienced were TWO LINES MEANS NEGATIVE, BUT NOT ALWAYS????? You all make at home COVID testing WAY harder than it actually is..Version: 7.1.0

Intrusive and Time wastingThe app doesn’t let you skip the videos even after you definitely know how to use it. You will need to be by your phone and listen to this annoying lady time after time which is unnecessary and time wasting. Remember that annoying teacher that gave unnecessary instructions over and over again with no option other than to listen? Now you got a virtual one. If you have more than one member in your family that needs testing start with plenty of time as this will take a while. I am ok with the 15 minute wait but you can only do one person at a time unless you download the app on multiple phones and not even sure if it will let you use the same user and password. Good way of getting more downloads. It will also ask you for some personal information that is not needed only other than to gather data for the company benefit. Would suggest not to provide anything other than what is definitely required to bypass the intrusion..Version: 6.8.0

Can’t watch the video in advanceI watched the videos in advance to make sure that I would perform the test early. However, the timer for the test had already started and it wouldn’t let me restart the timer. I deleted to app to hopefully clear the issue, but when it identified the card that it needs to use to interpret results, I was prohibited from using that test. Now I purchased a test kit that was supposed to have two test and I have only one that I can use because this app forces you to perform the test in real time. This is either a massive mistake in designing an app (and for that matter, what do you need an app for this test? There are are lots of tests where you just have to read the instructions. It’s not rocket science…they just want to collect your personal information….shame on you BD) or a sneaky and shameful way for BD to make money during a time of demand for their product. This is price gouging during a time of worldwide crisis. These guys saw a sneaky way to make a few more bucks from people like me who like to read the instructions beforehand. I will say it many times. SHAME ON YOU..Version: 6.8.0

FrustratingThe app itself is Ok. It has problems reading the results in very good light conditions and it only gives you 5 minutes to find a place where the picture may work but it eventually took the picture and read the results. However, there should not be a need to provide my personal information and download an app to read the results of a rapid test. In addition, there is no information about what a positive or a negative test looks like. I see two lines in the results, which the app says it is negative. It may be that for this test 3 lines is positive and 2 lines is negative but without information, the results leave you wondering whether the scanner failed and whether you have Covid. The whole point of a rapid test is to determine if one has the virus but this test/app left me wondering whether the results were correct..Version: 7.0.0

Not user friendlyThis test is so frustrating! Before I started it made me sign up fir an online account, which I was not happy about. Then, there are NO written instructions in the box! The whole thing is done by video on your phone in the app. I don’t need any new apps on my phone! It gives unnecessary information and instructions. Watching the video took way too long and was not helpful information. Then the results started to show up immediately after the test, but there is no guide to tell you what is positive or negative. You have to wait the full 15 minutes to see the results. When the test started showing it came up with 2 pink lines. Every other at home test I’ve taken, 2 pink lines means a positive test! So I’m freaking out, but still have to wait the full 15 minutes for any answer! And after all that, the results were negative! All this frustrations and headaches for nothing!.Version: 6.8.0

Not user friendlyThe instructions for the Covid testing do not allow you to go back at once you get to a certain point. I had moved onto this part before a piece of info in the last video had registered, and I needed to go back to get what I missed but couldn’t. I then had to wait 25 minutes(a 15 minute timer starts at the end of all of the videos, followed by another 5 minute timer) to let everything cycle back through and almost expired my test because of this. It does not account for errors in this test, so pay attention. What I really didn’t like, is even after it had already cycled through all the videos with the first test, it didn’t recognize that all the videos had been watched and still makes you go through the same videos without just having an option to scan your results..Version: 6.8.0

This app should be optionalThe simple fact that I have to download an app and input my name and address is absurd. I want to do a covid test not have give out personal info also don’t agree that an email address should be necessary for me to perform a test. At best the entire process is hand hold for people who can’t follow directions. More probably it’s another company taking advantage of a health crisis to get data on their consumers. A simple piece of paper with examples of positive and negative tests and an option for a phone app probably would have made this a better review and experience. After response from dev: You should give people the choice to share medical information with an app. Why every company thinks THEY will keep data safe when time and time again we see it stolen from every large company in the world has to be motivated by money. It should not be a requirement, Companies shouldn’t get to decide what information I can or must save. There is no harm in providing paper instructions and there is no justification aside from cutting costs or forcing collection of data. I don’t care if you have an app just provide people an option. I will purchase other COVID tests from now on..Version: 6.8.0

Absolutely ridiculously obnoxiousAs this was the only test available in my local pharmacy, I did not have much choice but to purchase it. I imagine the majority of the cost of this expensive test went to paying for app developers. You can’t take the test without downloading the app, agreeing to their policies, and giving up your contact information. I have eyes. I can read a test just fine without a camera. The app had some trouble though, even after the lighting test. This seems like a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist, and it creates problems of its own. I realize they are collecting metrics, but this is absolutely obnoxious..Version: 6.9.0

Too tediousI would not recommend this test. The steps are too drawn out and made to seem much more troublesome than they need to be. Also the fact that you need a smart phone makes it useless to anyone who isn’t tech savvy or lacks these types of devices. Having to wait for the phone app to read my result is another unnecessary step. Not being able to close out of the app was annoying as I needed to make a phone call and needed to use another phone out of fear that I’d lose connection with the app. It took way too long to see obtain the results. There are many simpler tests that will give an expeditious and accurate reading without all this extra work. Do not recommend..Version: 7.0.0

IdioticThis is the worst. *Requires* you to download an app and submit your name, birthdate, home address, sex, ethnicity, email and phone number all of which I entered falsely bc, no thank you, I don’t want some unknown third party harvesting my personal, medical info. The instructions, which are only available by app, are ridiculously laborious. Unlike the other tests, this one shows more than one bar for the result even tho in my case negative. The worst part: you need to take a photo of your result - in order to do so, you must find the right light (with no shadows!) otherwise it won’t take. Meanwhile, a clock is ticking down from 5 mins. Data harvester + idiotic user experience- horrible!! If I could give negative 5 stars I would!!.Version: 6.8.0

Buy any other test you canI’ve tried about 4 different at home Covid tests and found them all to be very simple to use all great. This one however. You have to download their app and provide personal info that I am sure they are selling for a profit. Then you have to watch each instruction video which takes forever. If you miss a short 5 min window they don’t even let you scan the result and tell you that the visual test strip has no correlation with the results. Which is just illogical, if the visual has no bearing on result then how would the scan be able to tell you. Terrible customer service when I called, they try to make it complicated so you have to buy more..Version: 6.8.0

Would not have purchased this covid testIf I had known that completing this test would require downloading an app, entering in personal information and watching videos that cannot be skipped, I would never have purchased this covid test. I appreciate the effort put into designing all this, but I felt irritated that there wasn’t a more transparent option. Why wasn’t there the option to just read the instructions and interpret the results without an app? I’m not commenting on the functionality of the app, that was fine. Good design, actually. But opening the package and finding out that I would have to do it all on my phone was a disappointment. Could it be made more clear on the package that it is REQUIRED to do all that to get the results? I knew I couldn’t return the test after opening it, so I felt pressured to just do it. There is very small print saying that the health app is required..Version: 6.8.0

Worst test of them allI’ve used at least 5 different brands of covid tests and BD Veritor is the worst out of all of them. I have one more test left, because I accidentally threw away the wrong scan card when I had covid, and I would rather not even bother with their customer service to figure out how to override it. The whole test/app is very unforgiving and will not allow you to move forward or will call you test invalid if you are 5 seconds too late to it once it says it’s time to take the picture. This test was also the most expensive of all the tests, consistently tested negative when I was covid positive, and yeah, save your money. I really hope this review saves someone the frustration..Version: 6.9.1

Horrible, intrusive, and time-wastingThis is specifically in regards to the COVID-19 testing aspect. The fact that you have to download an app, agree to a privacy policy, input personal information, then do a time-locked test is ridiculous. And almost patronizing; they suggest interpreting lines against a guide is difficult for people with typical vision. In addition, the fact that it just so happens that in the phone app version the control indicator is two lines rather than the typical one (yes—even on some of BD Veritor’s other COVID-19 testing kits that solely check for the antigen). This is intentionally misleading; if an individual without the app took the test and are negative, it forces them to download and input their information and double check the results. And even if the extra lines have special undocumented significance, it still doesn’t mean we cannot interpret the results with a diagram regardless. At LEAST make it so the app is an *option* to use for those who have trouble understanding reading a test. These issues are not some coincidences. The audacity is insane. This seems to be a trend with this company’s products however—forcing unnecessary accessories and add ons to collect data and charge extra money..Version: 6.8.0

Helpful, but…The instructions are somewhat helpful, but way too long and unnecessary if you are giving regular tests to your child (like me). I’m a pro at these tests now, but the app makes me watch all their videos every time. The worst is the extremely long video about offering your child a teddy bear or tablet or cookies or restraining them if you need to. OMG, I’m their parent, I can handle it, and why can’t I skip these after I’ve seen them once? End result, I’ll use the test materials from now on, but will not use the app or scanning features due to the frustration and inconvenience. I would think that this defeats their goals if collecting test data, but I’m not going to scan if I have to go through this long process every single time as I’ve got enough stress and responsibilities already, so hopefully the feedback is helpful to this company..Version: 6.8.0

God-Awful, Dystopian Product, Should be IllegalRegarding the at home COVID-19 Tests: I have never in my life encountered such an anti-consumer, evil product in all all my years on God’s green Earth. There is no reason why I should have to input pages upon pages of person information to view my Covid test result. Even worse, you literally have to keep the app open for the entire 20 minute testing process and if you happen to close the app you will just have to go on about your day never knowing if you have Covid or not. This company could fix this by simply putting a guide on the product for the customer to read, telling them whether or not the test is positive. Instead, the company chooses to force the user to go through their inconvenient, slow, and pointless app to even see the see the result of the test. I would rather get Covid and die than support this company by buying another Covid test from them. If I could rate this app 0 stars I would, but 1 will have to do..Version: 6.8.0

Just get normal at home testsGet the normal analog test strips, anyone can figure those out. This app completely wastes your time. Not only is there an obnoxious amount of steps and forms to fill out, but it makes you wait 15 minutes in app to get results. HOW IS THERE NOT A SKIP BUTTON FOR THAT? What if I’ve already waited many minutes as I fill out all those dumb forms? What if I’m trying to test multiple people in my house at the same time? Sorry, you must wait 15 minutes from the point you get to that step, EACH TIME! Got a positive person in your household and so you wanna test everyone else? Get ready for this process to take an hour. The app is good if you have never taken one Covid test before and would be unable to read or follow paper instructions as it aggressively holds your hand each micro-step of the way. But anyone else, it’s a waste of time. TERRIBLE UX. Little tip: 2 lines on the strip means negative, 3 means positive. Skip the app, use your eyes on the strip like a normal person..Version: 6.9.1

Waste of your TimeThe fact this kit doesn’t include paper directions and forces you to use their app demonstrates is also designed to data mine your personal information. How does your race, address, and email help the test? As other reviews mention, you spend half the time forced to watch videos teaching you how to adjust your lights and play with your camera phone (which is apparently appealing to millennials) but a complete waste of time. I am perfectly comfortable using a smart phone but there should be some kind of warning on this test for elderly or non-tech people. Other competing COVID tests have a simple one line or two line strip result and you don’t need your smart phone to “interpret” it. After setting up and account, using this app, watching their mindless videos, and waiting 20 minutes for results I pretty much wanted to take the test swab and shove it up into my brain. Do yourself a favor and get a simple test from someone else..Version: 6.9.1
