So Grateful For This AppMy sister suggested Balance to me a over 6 months ago and now I’m suggesting it to my Friday and family. I can feel myself changing, I have gained the skills through meditation to calm myself when stressful moments come up. I have learned to be kinder to myself, I no longer dwell on negative thoughts. Balance has guided me to a new way to think about everyday thoughts that arise and it’s provided me the skills to embrace every one of them. I am so grateful for this app, it’s really difficult to put into words. I’ve tried other meditation apps but there’s something about Balance, maybe it’s Ofosu’s voice!!! His voice is so calming and comforting, I feel like he’s actually there with me. What can I say? I love everything about this app, even on days where I don’t have 20-30 minutes to meditate there are options for a 10 minute daily meditation. It’s helpingPrior to Balance, I had engaged in meditation, and I have done so using different apps. The first sign of my anxiety is feeling like I can’t get enough air in, and my breathing over time has become irregular and unbalanced. I found with other meditation apps it was setting a rhythm for breathing (4 in, hold, 4 out) but that particular practice was really hard for me, and I often found it also wants you to keep your natural breathing pattern whilst guiding their own pace for your breathing. That was quite contradictory for me, and I found it really hard to engage in, and over time, it has actually made my breathing so much worse. BUT I haven’t had this with Balance (so far, it’s only been a week). The building blocks for the different skills are so rewarding and really helped me rebuild my comfort and confidence again with meditation. I come to the end of my day genuinely excited to do the meditation with the app. I feel I’m relearning the art of it, and it’s felt really beautiful. Can’t believe App Store hasn’t featured Balance yet!Balance is life changing! It teaches so many breathing techniques (something for everyone and every ability), keeps you accountable to meditate daily (which your mind & body are grateful for), and makes you excited to practice again & again. The plans are awesome, taking you through 10 days of meditations (that you can change the length of i.e. 10, 15, 20 mins etc.) teaching different skills around managing a particular topic or issue. Along the way, you are asked questions about what you need or are struggling with in relation to that plan, and it adjusts the meditation accordingly. I love the Singles meditations at the moment, mainly picking and mixing breathing exercises for calm or energy as needed. I also like doing the Gratitude and Creativity Singles, and have used the SOS and Anxiety Singles when struggling to manage runaway thoughts. It baffles me that Balance isn’t mentioned in the App Store’s rundowns of best apps for meditation, mental health or sleep. It is the most helpful app I’ve found for all three of these things and I wish more people knew about it. I have and will continue to share about Balance to friends, family & strangers — particularly anyone needing extra support the way 2020 is going!.Version: 1.26.0

Best Meditation App Ever!!There are no words for how amazing this app is! I love that it personalizes itself to my needs. I love that there are heaps of 10day plans to complete (starting from the the foundations) which makes it so easy to follow and create a daily habit which was always hard for me. Also if you are in a particular mood for something then there are plenty of singles to choose from! I love the immersive singles in particular. I love that it tracks my progress which helps keep me motivated. I honestly love everything about this app and highly recommend it for anyone that struggles with meditating but recognizes that enormous benefit it has on mental health..Version: 1.28.1

I finally look forward to meditatingThis is a fantastic app. I’ve tried almost every meditation app on the market but somehow never quite managed to stay consistent in my practice and to really feel positive benefits. I’m working my way through the foundations plan on Balance and I absolutely love it. I look forward to meditating everyday! I used to get fidgety even doing a 10-minute meditation but I feel relaxed, present and as though I’m learning useful skills every step of the way. Massive help during these hards timesI’m so impressed with this app, even on the free version it offers you so much choice, from meditations to fall asleep to, different breathing techniques to try and ways to be grateful. Despite being out of the time to sign up for the free years trial I emailed balance and they got straight back to me with the free years subscription. I cannot fault this app, I use it every single day to wake up and fall asleep to and the plans they have available have boosted my happiness and confidence in under two weeks. The only meditation app that works for meI’ve tried pretty much all the meditation apps on the app store and none are as easy to use and as motivating as this one! Meditations are short and to the point and they help you develop important skills like breath control, awareness etc that you can apply to your meditations outside of the app! Life changingBalance is by far the best app I’ve downloaded in the 14 years since the App Store launched. It is not hyperbolic to say that using Balance every day has made a huge positive difference to my life and to the friends I’ve shared Balance with. The interface is well designed, the adaptive meditation courses and singles are high quality and are led by a choice of two amazing teachers, and the regular content updates keep the app fresh and ever growing. Fantastic appI have been struggling for years to try and figure out how to release all my bottled up stress. I was an avid runner and went to the gym daily. I was in a car accident that has prevented me from being able to much of any physical activity. When I was stressed I would always go for a run but for the past six years that wasn’t an option. Since I was a small child I have also always struggled with severe anxiety and ADHD which makes it hard to focus. This app has given me many strategies to help stay grounded even during stressful times. I really enjoy the positive redirection and guidance during the meditation sessions. As my mind goes a million miles a minute it’s nice the app will help refocus your attention to the now moment. I also work in special education with low income students that have many struggles in their lives. I try to bring in coping skills from this app and else where into the classroom. This app has been a lifesaver. Also, if you enjoy the app there is a podcast that they host you may want to check out as well..Version: 1.64.1

Worth trying out has improved my mental stateI don’t normally leave app reviews but I have to say I love this app. I’m not a big a meditator but I started to enjoy it at the end of yoga classes and with the pandemic, social media addiction and work stress affecting me I felt I need to improve my focus, work on productivity and generally quiet my mind. This app makes meditation effortless I’ve moved from three minutes to ten minutes within two weeks and whenever I feel the need to focus or calm myself I reach for my phone and begin a session. I find myself focusing on my breathing even without the app. It’s helped to improve my work focus 10 fold within just a few weeks. The free trial is amazing value and I think even after it’s done I’ll probably try and get a lifetime subscription..Version: 1.59.0

The best mindfulness app out thereThis is by far the best meditation app and I’ve tried plenty. Me not being all hippie happy person usually makes it hard to go through different meditation techniques but Balance is the first that just made sense out of it all..Version: 1.10.1

More calm, clarity, peace post-breakupFirst of all, I never write reviews. NEVER. But this app is helping me SO much and I had to share in case it helps someone else in a similar situation. I have never really meditated but have always been interested, just wouldn’t carve out the time to do it. The Instagram promotion for a free year of Balance caught me at exactly the right time—going through a difficult breakup and finding myself experiencing lots of confusion, anxiety, negative thoughts, self-doubt, fear you name it. I have been waking up sad, grieving, lots of rumination and swirling thoughts, but after taking time to go through a 5 minute guided mediation after waking, I find that my brain feels more clear, I’m a little less anxious and slightly more positive/invigorated. These are fractional improvements, but improvements nonetheless and I’m grateful for that. I’m only on day 4 of the Foundations program and can’t wait to see how my brain transforms over the next few weeks, months, and year..Version: 1.57.0

Couple of suggestionsAs a subscriber, it would be great if after the meditation you can correct a date performed. If my session runs after midnight, it will show as the next day mediation and I will have a missed day, which is not really true. Kind of annoying. My Balance in between the chaos.I work as a nurse and the past year has been hectic for me. My mental health has deteriorated drastically due to COVID and the burn out of constantly working crazy shifts. When I saw Balance was giving away a free annual membership, I was doubtful about the quality of the app but I was desperate. I needed something to work, I needed something to help. Get free for a yearFree for a year is so genius like i’m obsessed with this app and it’s free for a year so i use it every night and fall asleep in like 20 minutes. i have adhd and i need to be doing something so i love how there’s ones where you picture every detail and still adding features you want while having relaxing sounds in the back. it’s like story telling but not fairy’s and princesses yk. defs recommend getting this app. i do wish that the drift to sleep had the one i could pick because i only listen to it for the rainy park one. love this app definitely recommend. someone please buy me the subscription once my free trial ends because it ends in june!!.Version: 1.114.0

I LOVE Balance, butI love the Balance app, I have found that it has the best sleep stories and has greatly helped me. I purchased the ‘Buy what you can for a year’ in the promotion last year and really helped me, however I am not able to pay $20AUD a month. I don’t use the whole app, just the sleep stories. I wish there was a way to pay for sections of the app, I would happily pay $5AUD a month for sleep stories, now I have to find a new app to help get me to sleep, and find someone that sounds like Ofosu :(.Version: 1.106.0

Highly recommendedThis app teaches you so many skills that you can practice anytime and anywhere. There are many different meditation experiences which makes it even better. The voices are perfect for listening to and I always feel better after I meditate because of balance. Brilliant content and great design, one downsideWonderful app. The meditations are really good and very effective. Aesthetically speaking, it’s great as well. Lovely layout and design which makes a big difference to the user experience. Would highly recommend. Only downside for me, which is slightly frustrating, is that there’s no sessions/singles for sadness, depression or just low moods. It would be great if the developers could create something of the sorts to help guide you to handle emotions like that. Personally I have gone on the app to meditate when in such moods because I find meditation to be extremely helpful but I always struggle to find a session that suits those moods on this app..Version: 1.33.0

Favorite Meditation App for NewbiesI am REALLY enjoying Balance. I signed up for it because they advertised a free year, which is pretty incredible these days! I have tried a few other meditation apps but nothing really stuck, and I’ll be honest I’m still new to this one too, but it feels different. Reasons I love it: • The Design: Hats off to the designers and developers, you guys did a fabulous job of making a pretty, minimalist, and not-distracting app (which are my favorite qualities in an app). • Customization: From the first moment in the app, you begin creating a custom program based on your needs (stress management, focus etc), and from there you can even choose the voice of your Guide. You are also able to choose the length of meditation you wish to complete, so whether you’re overwhelmed by the idea of sitting still for 10 minutes or just “don’t have time” you can always fit it in. • Content: The techniques used in the program I am following feel far more effective in capturing my attention than other apps I’ve tried. I feels like a it clicking more this time. There are also lots of to choose from when you are in need of something specific. So while I am still new here, I am very much enjoying it. All of the above factors make this app worth revisiting on a consistent basis. So if you’ve been in the market for a meditation app or just want to try a new one, I would highly recommend Balance!.Version: 1.40.1

MisleadingIt says that you can try the full version of the app for free. There is a section where you can contribute to the app for the full version, apart from it doesn’t accept my selection, but I’m certain it won’t have any issues taking the full amount. I’m happy to pay the full amount, if I feel it’s worth it and that I actually use the app. Why offer a free full membership, but in reality you actually don’t. It now puts me off from using it, and will likely get a subscription elsewhere. Edit: You can actually get the full version by clicking on email link, but it doesn’t work through the app, so just be aware of that. Will change from 1 ⭐️ to 4⭐️, as I don’t have any time in the app, but don’t feel it’s fair to rate something so poorly when they have delivered what they said they would. ExcellentI’ve been doing occasional meditation for a few months to aid sleep (which is does for me) but I feel stressed all the time and lacking resilience when in work (NHS…says it all). I’m off sick just now and remembered this app, I started last night and it was so good to regulate my breathing because I’m a mouth breather I feel anxious a lot, and I’ve done some today to regulate myself before I go for an appt this afternoon. It definitely is working so far and making me feel a lot calmer. Each meditation I’ve done is different and feels specific for me based on my goals and experience. Life changing appI started using Balance during COVID and it’s now been three years of using this app daily. I had tried meditating using other apps, mainly Headspace and Calm. I found both overwhelming and the apps were bloated with features. I even had a subscription for free and never used it :/ Balance does such a great job at keeping things simple. You just open the app and can get right to a meditation. I love that there is no decision fatigue because it’s super curated. Leah is the most amazing coach. Her voice is so soothing, but not robotic. She finds the balance between calm and not cheesy. I have completed almost every plan in the app. I wish there were more. I think the app is moving more towards being a sleep support app. The new meditations are only the Individual ones. Those are fine, but I like the plans because they’re a curated set of meditations that compliment and grow from each other. You really feel like you’re accomplishing something with each meditation. My one recommendation to the app designer is to make the meditation intros optional. Please include a SKIP button. There are three or more questions you are required to answer before the meditation even begins and it’s super annoying. Also, there is a transition state after finishing the questions, which claims to be personalizing the meditation. But just close the app and it skips it! Best bug ever. Please keep this! Best app for meditation by far…Only been using it for a week now, but let me say haha I’m feeling great! This app really works on a lot of things mentally, it can either be work stress or say you wanna meditate on the go? No problem! Great intro to meditation, now building up my personal practiceI’ve been wanting to learn how to meditate for some time. I’ve tried Calm and Headspace. Calm is more about soothing than meditation. Appropriate for my kid. Headspace was ok but the narrative voice has the accent of Ricky Gervais and the British accent feels too hoity toity. Balance has an option of male or female voice, and i prefer the generic “American” accent. The singles are great, but where I’ve found real value is in the Plans. I’ve moved thru beginner plans and foundations into intermediate and advanced meditation over the course of a year. I don’t do it every day, but that’s my goal. And now I’m learning how to do self-guided meditations. My goal is generally to clear my mind, reduce the noise in my head, create space for intuition. But there are meditations available for all kinds of purposes (like anxiety, concentration, sleep, sadness, anger, and a whole lot more). Helped me to find my “Balance”I don’t leave reviews. Ever. This app is AMAZING. The plans are great. Even if you are experienced in meditation, the plans help you build onto what you already know. If you’re new to meditation this app has the foundations plans with different levels. You finish one plan and you move on to the next. The immersive music meditation is absolutely beautiful. All of the immersive meditations are beautiful and unique. I’ve tried to find similar meditations on other apps or even on the web but can’t find them. They are unique to Balance. Balance has... well.... helped me find my balance. Over 15 hours spent meditating and it doesn’t get boring. They keep adding new plans and I can’t wait to finish them all. I’m currently on the Fear plan, the Fear plan isn’t my favorite one that I’ve done so far but it’s still extremely helpful. Can’t wait to see what else is to come! I am liking is so farI’ve downloaded Balance recently as I’ve noticed that it was offered for free for a full year. As I struggle with anxiety and depression, I thought there is no harm in checking it out. I really enjoy using it. It helps me to slow down and mindfully breath. Last night I tried the bedtime story about a train journey and I fall asleep. I woke up in the middle of the night and kept on thinking about the ending of the story, so I put it on again. And I fall asleep again! If that doesn’t tell you that the app is really good, I don’t know what will. I still don’t know the ending in the story!! Best and favorite app by far!!I had been hearing the many benefits that meditation has to offer, but hadn’t ever tried it. I was skeptical at first but I downloaded the Balance application just to see what all the fuss was about. I was absolutely amazed that after only one session, I felt so calm, relaxed and just better in general. I guess I wasn’t aware of exactly how tense and stressed I was. I have since recommended this app to all of my family and friends and they too are very impressed. With all the things we have going on day to day, we tend to forget to take care of ourselves and we don’t realize how important self are is. The Balance app does just that, it helps you balance and manage those day to day stresses and make life more manageable and enjoyable. ImpressedI have long sought a way to learn meditation that would work for me. All felt too long at first, and asked for most focus than a beginner could ever have. This App is OUTSTANDING. Short times at first, yet the meditation WORKS. 5 days in, I extended my time to the longest available and was sad two days in a row when it was done so soon! Currently on the 7 day free trial before paying for a year, as of 2 minutes ago. I want more! I want to meditate as long as my brain will allow, and it’s currently so worth the subscription to me! I will be exploring the benifits of a paid subscription over these 7 days, and will come to update what I decided. Already, was thrilled to be able to move onto the next step in my plan tonight without waiting until tomorrow. Excited to see the other plans it unlocks. I’m a believer!! I told someone last week I am on the verge of a mental breakdown. I am feeling like that is lessening and I feel stringer daily in my head and emotions. I wasn’t the meditating kind of person……and I suffer from schizoaffective disorder, so mindfulness/meditation is highly recommended to me. Since I meditate more with the Balance app, I feel better mentally. Maybe it’s a coincidence? But just as things started to get worse, I began doing my meditation more often and things got even better than before. (Namely: I hear the “voice” loudly and have thoughts of harming myself or others /which would never manifest, as I’m controlling myself, but they’re not good to have/ occasionally. This, I believe is psychosis, but since I use the app more, there are much less of these episodes.) Also, I can sometimes do the meditations I learn in the app without the guidance of the app, meaning it’s a life skill I’m learning here. I paid for the life membership now, which cost 2 years of app usage, and I really hope I’ll use the app for longer than that….Version: 1.107.0

Life changing meditation appBalance is truly the best meditation app I’ve ever used. From how personalised and individualised it is to the huge range of singles and plans available, Balance is really the best out there. I also really appreciate how they’re always updating and adding new singles, so that the benefits compound. Oh and the badges and streaks really encourage me to stay consistent. :) If I could suggest an improvement: I’d love to see a meditation plan for anxiety or low mood. There is the “work stress” and “facing fear” plans but I’m not sure if they’re as targeted to worry and low mood and would love to see something individualised to that. One of the bestThis app is one of the best apps I have found for meditation and mental health. I have actually purchased and used this app consistently for about 14 months (I am now a lifetime member). I use it almost every night with a sleep meditation and use it consistently during the day as well. I applaud the group who developed this app for offering a free one year membership because that gave me enough time to realize that I would use this consistently enough to make it worth my while to actually purchase it. I love that it asks you questions and adapts your meditation to your answers. I would recommend more new badges to earn along with more levels to earn on existing badges (ie: the daily badge went from earn for doing a meditation every day for 30 days to every day for 365 days. No badge for 3 months or 6 months). I also believe there is no way to look at what badge you have earned would be nice to be able to go back and see what I have accomplished. I would recommend a menu where you could learn more about the different coaches. I believe when I first started using this I was given a very brief introduction to my coach, but I wasn’t paying attention and I’d like to go back and review that but there’s no way to do that..Version: 1.106.0

FREE YEAR SO JUST DO ITAmazing introduction to meditation. Honestly, whether you’re struggled everyday with the disabling symptoms of your mental health, or you’re living your best life. Balance is worth the time! Within the first two weeks I mastered introducing the 10 mins of time on the app to my daily routine and now use is two to three times day. I noticed the decrease in anxiety symptoms within a consecutive four day practice and I learnt extraordinary coping skills during difficult times resulting in faster recoveries, including pain management. If you just need a little help spending more positive time with yourself, this is the app for you. And it’s free for a year! The best meditation appTruly, this app is outstanding. The way I’ve built my meditation practice up from 0 and implement these teaching into everyday life is amazing. You learn and are encouraged to keep going even when you feel like you’re “messing up”. They really know what the pain points are for biking a strong meditation foundation and help you overcome those barriers. Also their rewards system in the app really does keep you engaged. They keep track of your days in a row that you’ve practiced and I can’t tell you how many times I was thinking “ah I’ll skip today” and remembered my streak and didn’t want to break it because I was so proud of how long I had stuck to it. They track your time and progress so you can really see how much work you’ve done! All of the above is just what their foundations plans provide. They have soooo many other meditations for everything you might struggle with like eating, procrastinating, holiday stress you name it. Finally a Meditation App that Doesn’t Overwhelm meI have found meditation apps a bit overwhelming. There is just so much choice in the type of meditation you do that you don’t even know where to begin and sometimes i just wouldn’t do a meditation bc i just didn’t want to bother choosing. This app gives you a variety of choice with the extra meditation in various categories, however everyday there is a new foundation meditation which helps build your meditation skills as well as giving you really valuable information. From disbelief to a strong advocate for meditationI never gave meditation techniques a fair try until my personal and professional life recently turned into a mess. Now, I’ll swear by it. Within the first 4-5 lessons and with some self awareness, I have seen my anxiety and stress levels drop significantly, even into the next day during my commute to work. I suffer from racing thoughts at night and have a horrible time falling asleep due to chronic back issues, but the Balance app has helped me drift into a deep sleep with ease. I find myself going to bed earlier and looking forward to the next days’ lesson. There’s also a lot to explore pat sleep and anxiety. I just started another lesson to work through some past trauma. I am loving this app!I started using Balance when I clicked on an Instagram ad offering a yearly subscription for free. I’m a sucker for deals. I had tried some other meditation apps, but I just never stuck with any of them. I have a history with teaching mindfulness groups, so I do have some experience with this material. So far with Balance, I have a 41 day streak completing four foundations plans! I really love the layout of this app. They do a really good job of explaining different skills and it’s really interactive. You can click on icons and it gives you an explanation in case you forget what a term means. I appreciate the little quizzes before some of my meditations to keep the things I’ve learned fresh. There is a lot of positive reinforcement and I’m constantly congratulated and reminded of how well I’m doing by simply just showing up and trying. I also love that they are interactive on Instagram. I’ve attended two of the Instagram lives where Oofasu answers questions and does brief meditations. I’ve found solace through meditationThis app teaches you so much about different meditation techniques and it has been amazing for me. I struggle so much with letting go of strong emotions that I feel. When I’m sad, I’m sad for a long time. When I’m angry and frustrated, I can be angry and frustrated for the entire day. These guided meditation sessions have been able to help me let go of those emotions, not to push them down and to hide them, but to simply let go. It also helps me because I can get so caught up in my own thoughts that it becomes so tiresome being in my own mind. Meditation helps me shift my focus from those thoughts. I’ve been trying to meditate at least once a day, and it’s a little difficult some days. But the days that I do take the time for myself to meditate, I feel lighter and happier and like I’m able to step out from under the dark cloud of frustration, stress, worries, fears, sadness, etc. I’ve seen an improvement in myself over these past couple of months and if it’s something that you think would be helpful for you, I hope you can find solace through meditation..Version: 1.63.1

Wow. This is amazingFor years I’ve always thought about doing meditation but wasn’t sure how and couldn’t see how I could fit in with my busy life. Fantastic app!This app has helped my family and me to get a better nights sleep over the past year through the one-year free trial that they offer. The app is unique as it offers a new customized meditation every day. They have a good variety of meditations for kids and my daughter loves to choose what to listen to based on the pictures. The more I explored this app, the more surprised I was by the amazing variety that this app offers. I used this app frequently over the last year and still found new and surprising features. The team that put this together seem to really care about keeping things fresh. There really is only one issue. This app does not support family sharing. I was about to purchase the lifetime subscription, but I would have had to buy it twice so my wife could have it on her phone to help put the kids to sleep when mine wasn’t available. I really could not recommend this app more. I have searched for other apps that do support family sharing, but the most they could offer was a small selection of pre-recorded meditations that will stay the same when you listen to them multiple times. Balance shines when it comes to audio quality. Most other meditation apps just don’t sound nearly as relaxing. Should be prescribed!Really and honestly, I have been through so many counselling sessions of various kinds for anxiety and depression and yes, they work for a while after the sessions are finished but the old demons come back again. This simple, easy to use app really has been such a comfort to me - I use it every morning to re-centre myself. I use the mood selector to help me with whatever negative feelings I’m dealing with and for the rest of the day the positive after effects stay with me. I am waiting to have surgery and my anxiety levels would normally be through the roof at the thought but I’m using this app to help me through these feelings and have a more positive outlook on the future. Great app to keep building meditation skillsFive stars for the way in which the app has helped me build my ability to meditate. Started with just 5 mins daily and, by the third ‘programme’, am on 10 minutes. I do feel the benefits of supported meditation (sometimes I do wish the speaker would shut up, sorry, I guess that is part of being in training). I haven’t yet done any meditation unsupported so it remains to be seen if I can do it alone. When I am feeling stressed, the test will be to take myself away, even for five minutes, and see if it helps. I have yet to do that - lack of a privacy at work and, at home, too many distractions. Something for me to think about and build more meditation into my routine. Following their stepped programme is the best way to go because if you begin to explore what else is on the app, it can be overwhelming. I will, though, try the walking meditation as that is something I can do at work and home, taking me away from any stressors. Actually teaches you to meditateI have used other meditation apps and they are either overloaded with too much stuff I don’t care about or don’t really teach you the basics of meditation. I love how this app builds on each skill and explains the reasoning behind doing it and clarifies what you might be thinking when doing it. I actually was able to use the skills in learned in the first few lessons in real life to calm my anxiety. Furthermore it really is a free year. It seems a lot of people in the reviews don’t understand how to navigate an app or how to cancel a subscription before it renews. There is an option to donate a few different amounts for the year or to use it completely free so don’t let those reviews dissuade you from downloading this truly fantastic app. I will be deleting my other meditation apps and purchasing the lifetime membership in a bit. In love with this appHonestly it’s so refreshing to use this app and the fact it’s free for a year is insanely good. It genuinely makes you feel like the people that created this care about the well-being of its consumers. I struggle with mental health issues and this app is one of the many I use to give myself balance- which is ironically what it’s called! I’ve told my therapist about this app because she’s always looking for things to help her clients in day to day life. I’ve also told a bunch of my friends too because I think that the political and social climate is stressful enough and this app will help in whatever way they need even if it’s just to help them get more focus or motivation in their day. I’m not new to meditations and some of the techniques used in this app but the use of “labelling” has been something I’ve learnt that really changed my perspective of my reactions to things which is a key part of therapy for my borderline personality diagnosis. Do yourself a favour - download Balance!I’ve been trying for many years to establish a meditation practice. Needless to say, without much substantial success. But since I started using Balance, my life and myself (i.e. my mind), have changed. Not a sudden 180 degree kind of change, more of a soft/kind, progressive, deep and long-lasting change. The kind of change everyone talks about when stating the benefits of meditation. From day one, everything about the Balance app took me by complete surprise. Best meditation platformI absolutely love this app! I’ve tried many meditation apps in the past, some free, some paid for, some quite expensive...but so far none struck a chord with me so much. I always wanted to learn meditation but failed to understand the concept or see the point so I didn’t really manage to make it into a habit. I’m not sure what’s different with Balance exactly. It could be the way it builds up day to day, or the way concepts are explained (labelling was a particular break through for me) or the voice of Ofosu, which is just very calming and centring...or all of the above. Balance - 2 Years OnSo I’ve been using Balance for over 2 years now. First year was free and I went into it believing that after the year I would cancel my subscription and that would be it. The app is totally worth the subscription fee, I like the think of it as the same as buying a coffee once a week, or half a Netflix subscription a month. But the benefits of this app are outstanding. This is coming from someone who downloaded the app from curiosity and not wanting to make a valuable and worthwhile change to my life yet using Balance has improved so much in my life. Best Meditation App I’ve Used!Incredible! Really! Finally, a meditation app that works for me!I’ve wanted to build a meditation practice for a long time. After trying numerous apps, I just gave up. I either fell asleep each time or my mind wandered constantly. I just couldn’t get it. When I received an email to try this new Balance app, I thought to myself, “just try one more time.” I’m so glad I did. I now have a streak of 34 days, and find myself taking moments throughout the day to just close my eyes and use the skills I’ve been learning without using the app. It’s changing my life. I pay more attention to what I’m doing. I find that I listen better in conversations. Just an overall improvement in my awareness and peace in general. This app worked for me because it started off with short sessions and easy skills and builds from there. I now find myself wanting to do the longer sessions. I love that this program builds on the success of each session and gives you multiple techniques for your meditation toolkit. Initially, I was disappointed that each meditation didn’t have some soothing spa music. Now I’ve come to welcome the silence because I can really hear myself. Love this App!I enjoy this app much more than I expected to. I have always stayed away from meditation because I can never turn my brain off and I figured I wouldn’t be able to do it well, but this app has really changed that for me. Highly recommend itOnly downloaded it because there was a free trial. At the time tried a handful of different apps and wasn’t really happy with them. Purchased over a year ago, still going strongThis review is long overdue. When I first purchased Balance, I was needing urgent help with mindfulness during a very stressful time. Assistance with information for my patientsThank you for allowing me to write a request as a mental health clinician I am always looking for easy to use helpful apps for my patients. Balance is excellent however I sent a message requesting my reminder time to be changed from 5 to 4 pm as st times I need more flexibility in the times I can access benefiting from my experience. I would also like to continue with the breath fist part as it is very helpful for patients but feel it is not easy to navigate to restart or pick up if interrupted. Best app for sleep/anxietyI’ve been using this app for about 2 months now and my sleep has been better than ever. Was having a lot issues going to sleep due to high anxiety and panic attacks and this app has helped me so much it is now part of my daily routine to meditate every night with Balance. Since using the subscription version, I have begun to branch out to other meditation lessons as well. I love how personalized this app is and how it feels like I’m meditating with someone who actually knows me. I’ve never signed up for a paid version of any app before in my life, so I really feel like this app is worth it. Even if you are not going through a stressful time and just looking for overall well-being, I still recommend it. The only “criticism” I would have is that I prefer the Ofosu voice to the Leah voice and that is not an option for all the single meditations. Life changing!As someone that has dabbled with meditation at various points in my life I thought I knew what to do. It seems easy right?! But, I can say that actually doing this program and staying committed to it is really laying a beautiful foundation to build upon. Like having a best friend next to you...This is literally THE BEST meditation app among many apps that I have tried. It has everything you might need - plans for developing your meditation skills, single meditations to fit particular needs of the moment, soundscapes to support sleep and relaxation. I find Ofosu’s voice so soothing, and somehow personal, as if he is talking specifically to me, adapting the meditation to my needs, showing care and compassion, being there for me... Now, I know it’s a recording, but I honestly fee as if I am being guided through each meditation by a close and caring friend. I am not a big fan of apps that charge annual subscription, but this app is an exception - I feel it is absolutely worth every single penny, and it has made a tremendous difference to my mental health. Truly helpfulI am honestly so grateful for this app, the wisdom and the tools that Balance provides! I am enjoying the foundations course as I am learning how to breathe properly again and have more awareness in my body. 1 Year Trial?!I got this app upon finding a social media ad that said the app was free for the first YEAR. Yeah you heard that right. 1 YEAR! After the 1 year it’s $50. Obviously I was skeptical because as with many trials you think the company’s just hoping you’ll do it for a few days and then forget about it and in the end paying for a full cycle accidentally. Well I’m here to say that the app is AWESOME and for a little more than $4 a month I plan on keeping the app after the year and this is only after 4 days. All the meditations offered is perfect for ANYBODY! Kids, older people, younger people, professionals, ANYBODY! The quickest meditation is 3 minutes and I believe goes up to 10 minutes on some. I find the questions asked on some meditations before and/or after a meditation makes it more like a ‘Choose Your Own Meditation’ adventure. The only thing that has gotten me into mediationI have been trying for years to get into mediation but it has never worked out for me. It was impossible to quiet my mind or keep myself from distraction, and I would end the sessions more frustrated than I started. From the first Balance mediation, I was hooked. What I needed was GUIDANCE— instruction, someone teaching me to mediation skills, not just mediations telling me to quiet my mind and me not knowing how to do that. I have mediated everyday since downloading this app, and each day I learn how to do it better and better, which makes me keep coming back. It’s the best app for meditation, hands down. The foundations classes are fantastic for this, but also the singles are great as well — I use the wind down and sleep ones every night before bed, I’ve used anxiety and SOS many times in acute emotional states. It’s helped me stop relying on substances as much to regulate my mood, because I’m able to do it with the skills I learned in this app, or I can turn to the app for help instead. I really love this app but…TLDR; please consider keeping smaller amounts of time for all of your Foundations courses, or at least a slower build up (5, 7, 10). In the Foundations courses, the jump from a choice of 5 or 10 minutes in Foundations 1 and 2 to only the choice of 10 or 15 minutes in Foundations 3 really turned me off. I know I would like to work up to 10 minutes, but I should be allowed to do that at my pace. I feel strong armed into it which makes me resist (plus, sometimes I really only can do the 5 minutes, which is actually more like 7-8 minutes with all the prep talk before meditation starts). So this shift in Balance also makes me feel somewhat ashamed that I’m not able to always delve into 10 minutes easily (or that I’m not taking that time for myself). I also know that I can do the singles, but I would like to continue on Foundations. I know this is all on me regarding the feelings, but if the app touches those pressure points, it means something’s not working. I never saw this comingWhen I saw the advert that they are offering one years full subscription for free I had to try. And I’m so glad I did. I don’t use this to fall asleep, I use this to calm myself in the evening. Now I’ve started using five/ten-minutes in the morning. It’s so nice to just break free from everything and just have some self love. I genuinely will pay for this as it’s so helpful. I can’t say I'm completely mindful. But those moments in the morning and evening are moments for myself which I now enjoy spending, alone, breathing deeply and becoming more aware of my how I feel. New favorite app and amazing customer serviceI have raved about this app to everyone who will listen since downloading it about three weeks ago. This is an incredible and accessible app that removes any stigma from meditation. I went from having meditated once in my life to maintaining a habit of doing it every day, often multiple times. It’s been particularly helpful during the pandemic, but even after this is all over, there’s no way I’ll ever get rid of it. Amazing!I’m writing this review after a week of using balance. I’m just a week I’ve noticed a lot has changed within myself. Not big changes yet but I’m sure with more use that will change. I feel more positive. I also feel more motivated after each meditation. It encourages me to do chores around the house before it becomes a problem vs back then when I let the dishes get ridiculously stacked and the house get really dirty. I’ve used the S.O.S. single about 2 times now. Both times I was crying and feeling so much anxiety and stress. Both times I was having an anxiety attack, and both times I felt better and calm after taking the S.O.S. meditation session. I suffer and yes I do mean suffer, from depression and anxiety. I’m currently also coming off my meds with decreased dosage. This app came at the perfect time. I’ve had high stress due to covid-19 as well. I rarely do anything at the house because I have so little energy and intense mental drainage. My favorite meditation app, but…As someone who has meditated for years, I felt the need to have a refresh and broadening of my skill set. This app appealed to me because of it’s claim to adapt to the user based on usage and feedback, and that it has plans for people who have more experience with meditation. I succeeded in my goals to refresh and expand my skill set, and I’m actually still using it daily. However, I wish there was an unguided option that is *completely* unguided, since even the “unguided” single still has vocal cues. There are times where I still want a minimal reminder of how much time has passed. So, I still use a different popular meditation app that has an open-ended meditation option, which has further options such as no bells or a bell after a certain time interval. If you don’t know where to start or don’t think you can meditate, try this!I was always told I need to practice mediation as I struggle with anxiety. The whole concept of doing this routinely was anxiety-inducing in itself and I always avoided or shied away from meditating, thinking that I can’t do it or it won’t work or that it I need to adhere to this perfect routine of doing it without being able to make time for it. Having this app and free for the first year gave me the option to just pick it up and do it when I can and when I feel like it. You can adjust the meditations, start small - only a few minutes a day - and if you feel like going deep and longer - you can do that too. It’s obvious that this company actually has a true passion for helping people, judging by the work they’ve put into it and their free one year subscription! Their methods are evidence-based, no frills, and straight to the point so you can focus on learning and progressing your meditation practice without the type of trendy mind-clutter you get from Calm. Of all the meditation apps I’ve tried, Balance is the most user-friendly. It’s well-organized, tracks your progress across different skill sets, and although it’s evidence-based, it won’t overwhelm the lay person with scientific details. Though if you do prefer more scientific explanations, I would recommend pairing this app with FitMind. I find that they complement each other quite well. (FitMind also has accessible options for those who can’t afford their prices). Running this type of business requires hard work, and providing one year of it for free is unheard of in this broken capitalist society. IncredibleThis is the first time I’ve sought out the app page to review rather than getting an in app popup and going “yeah sure I guess I’ll review”. Balance has been so incredible for me. The 30 min version of “dream scenes” has never failed to put me to sleep (I shopped around a few of the sleep tracks before I found this one and it’s so perfect for me!). When I was in a bit of an anxiety spiral I put in the 5 min run of the anxiety track and it just... paused for me. Broke me out of the negativity. The daily trainings have become my 1 hr before bed habit to get me starting to settle, and although I enjoy some skills better than others (I hate body scan.... ), I find it pretty easy to personalize what techniques work for me and really build up my meditation practice. I used to scoff at people who would recommend meditation for anxiety and depression but Balance has been a wonderful tool in my wider toolbox of mood and sleep management. Good appI’m using this upon recommendation from a friend. I mostly have been using it to help fall asleep. It seems to work fairly well. I have my favourite sessions. I’m like the fact that you can choose the duration of most sessions. The annoying thing is the timing of the sessions. A session that starts before midnight but ends after midnight counts as the following day. So it makes it seem that I skip a day. This is frustrating and not true. Locked Trial?First off, I really like the app. The sleep meditation narrator’s voice is extremely peaceful and helps you fall asleep quicker. The software is easy to use and well thought out. However, this “1 year free trial” barely has any options. This is the only free trial I’ve used where the software appeared to be fully locked. Free trial means you get the full app for a certain amount of time, to see if the subscription is worth the cost. Unless other options are unlocked through using the app, it appears as though they are locked due to being on the free trial version of the app. It’s not a free trial if the software is locked. Just saying. I cannot give this app a higher rating right now as I cannot use 99% of the features, therefore I cannot evaluate how they work. If more options open up during use or the developer addresses my concerns of locked software on a year free trial, I will update my rating. Surprisingly, so impressedFirst of all, I hadn’t paid for this app and was getting plenty of use out of it. Then they have a years free subscription for mental health day. The app itself is laid out well, looks and works great. The guided meditations are great. I’m not sure how much personalisation actually makes a difference, but it’s almost irrelevant as either way the meditations are great; well structured, good techniques and I like the fact that you have a choice of voices. My only preference change would be to go over the basics and techniques more, it’s one meditation in a course of ten, that explains a technique and then the very next one you’re moving on, they can be repeated but I would prefer the basics course to last longer with each technique covered more..Version: 1.30.0

Best for learning to meditateOver the past 5 years, I’ve used several apps and platforms for meditation and mindfulness, most of which have been helpful. Balance is on another level. Even though I have several years of experience, I decided to start the program at the beginner level, and I am so glad I did. I am re-learning old concepts, and material is being presented in a more academic style format that is extremely effective in its delivery. I’ve only completed 4 modules at 10-15 minutes each and I feel like I have absorbed more than my entire ‘career’ of practicing mindfulness. The sessions are typically focused on a particular skill, and then as you progress it builds on previous knowledge. I feel more confident than ever that I will get the most out my mindfulness practice now that I’m going through this series. I actually look forward to my daily sessions now. Personalized, smart meditation. Best app I’ve usedI enjoy this app a lot. I’ve been a subscriber of Headspace for years and like it, but Balance is more engaging for me. I like that it has a small element of gamification that shows you your “levels” and experience in certain meditation techniques. I find the guy’s voice really relaxing. I also like that it is personalized, asks questions about where you are at on your meditation journey, and shares little bite sized information tidbits about how certain techniques are beneficial for us and why. Engaging, modern, interactive app that looks clean, easy to navigate, intuitive, and I even like the little sounds when you expand an information tidbit. It feels like a mediation app that’s been brought up to today’s standards of ease of use, personalization, data and being fun to use. I’ve struggled to keep to a habit with meditation but I find Balance makes me *want* to MAKE time for it, rather than maybe doing it if I have time for it. I have ADHD and get bored easily. I tried Balance when accidentally stumbling on an article about it when looking up smart health gadgets. Liked the idea of it. Really glad I did. Love this app!The meditations are aligned with your specific needs based on analysis which is one reason I left Headspace. I like that it builds on your level based on my input, asks how I felt about the meditation, reviews what I learned. It beats Headspace because it’s tailored to the individual and guides me to what plan I should work on using my data. The only improvement I would make is the badge system. There should be more badges to reach quickly to encourage continued use. I know there’s something towards intrinsic motivation but for something that many people aren’t used to including in their day, early accomplishments will motivate until it becomes a natural part of the day. It’s hard to get 10 days in a row but 3 days is doable for first timers. Also 10,000 minutes is almost 3 years of meditating daily for 10 minutes and there’s nothing in between 10 days and 10,000 minutes. That’s a huge gap. I doubt many people will reach that milestone so maybe remove the badges and just share how many days/hours of meditation or add more badges to encourage use..Version: 1.56.1

And Peace is Found.I never write reviews, in fact I think this is the first I have done. This app is PERFECTION though. It is really high quality, easy to navigate/intuitive and the coach…goodness how he speaks and narrates it felt he was speaking to me directly. One of the most humane and authentic voices I have ever heard. It also gets to know you, the app, and asks you questions which leads to what I feel is a genuine and authentic curated experience. What they have done here is very special and to give you the months free that they have done is very generous. I’m sure meditation, like any skill, takes some time, but I think what can be found on this app could potentially be life changing. I especially recommend the Imersive Forest meditation. How they tied a physical to a mental experience is something I’ve never felt before..Version: 1.67.1

One of the Best if not the best Mindfulness meditation tool box in the market today!I couldn’t agree with Jared who also took the words out of my mouth. Although I have been through some formal trading in a grip setting with a Counsler and even have a therapist this app is fantastic. It’s starts you off slow and had me actually pick up on some of the things I missed in my class. They start you off slow and ask you personal questions so that they may build the sessions around you on a personal level. I love that! It’s like a real one one and it keep me wanting more. I retired now at 55 with a full pension with Medical and now I watch a spend time with my grandchildren. But who would have ever thought the rest of my life sound peaches and cream. What an amazing offer and resourceI downloaded Balance after seeing they were offering a years free subscription. Firstly, huge kudos to Balance for providing an opportunity to explore meditation in an accessible way. Although it’s not a cure for the pressures the majority of people are feeling at the moment, it’s a scientifically proven way to help manage moderate levels of everyday stress and anxiety - something that’s becoming an increasingly important skill to master. I have ADHD and have struggled to adhere to a routine of meditation. Balance makes it easy to fit into the day with meditations focussed around walking, your commute and your morning coffee. Adding a meditative practice for a few minutes to these pre-established parts of my day makes it far easier to be consistent. Very usefulI started using this app in May 2023 after someone recommended it to me. I’ve previously struggled to get into meditation as I always felt I was doing it wrong and unable to concentrate. Firstly the fact the app has made meditation accessible to everyone with a free years subscription is wonderful. I also find the way the sessions work and the understanding from the platform really refreshing. It’s down to Earth, understanding and has made getting into meditation easier. I’m only one week in but have meditated 5 out of 7 days for my first week which is the most I’ve ever done in my life. Fantastic appI really love this meditation app. I love that the sessions are personalised based on answers you give occasionally, and there are lots of different session types. For those who have doubtsI am not someone who meditated before, but I started with this app using the referral from my friend and I love it so much. It is really great for beginners, has lots of options, and is educational! I meditate on the metro on my way to work for the last year and I have really noticed a difference in my nervous system and my anxiety. I also learned from using the app that when I don’t want to sleep, putting on pink noise or one of the stories has really helped. I couldn’t even tell you what the sleep stories are about because I fall asleep soon after. I have never used an app this consistently before. It’s amazing this app offered a free year subscriptionI used the free year subscription and I learned quite a bit and it helped me stay consistent. I’m giving it 5 stars because I think most apps nowadays are money hungry and the fact this app gave a free year subscription is amazing. I told a lot of people about this that were struggling mentally. When I can afford it I’ll renew. The only con is that I like to have meditation music with my guided meditations. Helps me everydayMy father told me he started using balance when he was being treated for cancer. It helped him stay calm and grounded through the process and I was amazed by his attitude. I started to use the app as a result of being inspired by him. I’ve been using the app for a few years now and it’s helped me immensely. The reason I love the app so much is that it seems to focus on making meditation easier to adhere to by simplifying the process and better explaining what meditation can be. If I could have a 6th star to rate this appI’m hitting my 40’s soon, and never meditated or really seen the value of that before, a skeptic you might say. In the month and a bit since I got the app to try, I’ve moved from skeptic to believer. Do I think there is a mysticism to it no, I think that the breathing and relaxation techniques that this app has given me create a physiological result, like: increased blood flow, mental focus to help you direct muscle areas to relax. After each meditation I settle my mind, and have released some of my tension. I don’t suddenly feel better or less tired, but I’m at peace with where my body and energy is at, and I have a little more focus and clarity to get back to what I want to do. Great appThis app feels like therapy. I find it really helps me with what I need to work on and it truly makes me feel calm and at peace. The best meditation app out thereI had not heard of Balance until an Instagram advert popped up with a free yearly trial so I decided to give it a go. I’ve used Headspace for years, but thought I’d try something new as I’d got out the habit of meditating. I love how Balance customises each meditation based on your goals and your answers to their questions every day. I also love how they talk about lots of the scientific side of meditation and how it helps your mind and body. It structures your first few weeks on learning all of the techniques and how they can help you which I find so useful. Ofosu’s voice is so soothing too! Great UI - really well presented and thought outThis app is well worth the subscription costs! Such a well presented app - you can tell a high level of attention to detail has been paid. It is so simple to navigate and use. If you are a complete beginner to meditation you will have no issues with this app. Everything is explained in simple, easy to understand formats. The guided meditations are excellent and the app is constantly being updated with new content added. I really like that when repeating certain single meditations such as the sleep meditation, that it is not a straight up duplicate of the previous time I listened to it - it has slight changes applied which keeps it interesting and not repetitive. Ofosu, the meditation guide’s voice is pure perfection....it immediately puts me into a calm state. The best Mediation appI tried for years now to get into the habbit of mediation. I tried Insigh timer, Calm, Headspace and always felt lost and loosing the habbit soon after. But not with Balance. This app make you feel like you have an actual personal coach. It follows what you feel and what you like. Even the singles change and adapt to your need. Also they costumer service is awesome. The best meditation app I’ve ever usedHaving had to deal with depression and anxiety over the years - I always wanted to try meditation but could never find an app or a method that I could a. An Incredible DifferenceHalfway through my graduate school program and the tragic death of my mother, dealing with my father’s grief, as well as my own, my stress level was so high, it put me in the hospital. I discovered Balance through Instagram. I’ve always been reluctant of “meditation” but after my first session, I cried because almost everything I was suppressing was slowly revealed. Suddenly, I realized that there was now someone who was willing to listen, had the patience to wait until I was ready, help me through the chaos, and made me realize that my emotional needs are not being met by those closest to me. In the past seven years, I’ve been taking on the problems of those who can’t seem to handle their own, and I have been neglecting myself in the worst way. Sometimes, I didn’t think I was going to make it. I was already using another well-known app pretty regularly, but the set-up of this one is just perfect. You can choose to follow along with a plan or open the app up for a quick single meditation based on your specific need at the time. And the best part is, you can choose the duration of time that works specifically for you. Usually it’s 5 or 10 minutes but with some, they go down to 3 minutes or up to 15. Where we can mediate on the idea of our mortality, helping us seize the moment and live life with more emphasis. This could also work as a weekly one too. Changed my life for goodI am writing this review after using Balance app for 6 months (got 1 year free). Will buy the full version soon. Have used all the meditations in the app whether it be a plans, singles or the immersive (these are pretty interesting too). Short summary 1) Bit size meditation will help you form the habit of getting into meditation which is pretty cool. 2) Each plan will develop a specific mental skill and continue to strengthen your mental well-being 3) Skills it will help you develop : Focus, Communication, Breathing, Relaxation, Concentration, Positivity, Labeling (i might be missing few) 4) Labeling skills is so great which allows mediator to bring back their focus if you wondered during meditation. 5) I like both meditators but Ofosu is my personal favorite. Fantastic!!I am only on my third day of using the Balance app for daily meditation and am LOVING it! I am new to meditation, but have heard great things. Almost perfectI’ve tried a number of meditation apps and Balance definitely has the best UI and some of the greatest variety and practicality I’ve come across. The only thing I’m not too thrilled about is the frequency of the narrator’s speaking, even when setting the session to a longer period of time. For me, it doesn’t allow enough time to settle into a focus on its instructions before it comes back in with additional (and often unnecessary) comments and reminders. Soothing voice behind the guided meditationsThe voice behind the guided meditations is enough on its own to get this app. I’m a week into this free app for a year deal and it’s very good. My one and only meditation appI’m just here to say thank you. I had a really tough year in 2021. This is also the year when I started using balance. This app helped me SO MUCH. On those really tough days I sat down and meditated with Ofusu’s voice, and I just magically calmed down and got to my feet again. I’m not saying that this app is a cure for mental illness. If you do suffer from severe mental issues, please go see a doctor asap. What I’m trying to say is that balance helped me walk through my toughest moments in life. It cured meI had PTSD for about 4 years and my life was miserable. I was getting physically sick because my mind was remembering a time that I had a nervous breakdown because of an herniated disc and still having to work and all. I tried medicines and they didn’t work. Psychology worked a bit but in my everyday life I was still miserable and getting towards isolating myself more and more. Osofu healed me! Fantastic appI’ve been using this app now since about October 2023. My anxiety has reduced massively (anxiety which has put me in hospital three times, so I’m talking chronic crippling anxiety), my indigestion has vanished and I feel a lot less stressed. My muscles aren’t as tense either so the aches and pains have reduced a lot. There is a lot of breathing work within this app, which sounds simple (because it is) but the benefits of breathing properly within a meditative setting are huge. You’re literally lying there breathing and having time to yourself. I like that there are periods of silence during each session and that you can choose which type of meditation exercise you need to do: sleeping, calming, calming for example. I’ve been meditating regularly for about 4 years now and this is right up the top of usefulness and awareness - it’s simple to use and super, super relaxing. PhenomenalHonestly an amazing app. You have two built it mindfulness coaches and they teach/guide you through any meditation. Meditation for sleep, for waking up, for stress, anger,anxiety. I feel weird if I don’t meditate nowI downloaded this app and instantly drawn in by its clean and minimal interface. Set up was quick and easy, and got straight into a guided meditation - not distracted by a long list of sessions like other apps. Ofosu’s voice is calming and reassuring - I always look forward to the end where he says “Great job today”. I meditate during my commute so I made it part of that routine. Now if I’m sitting on the train I feel weird if I’m not meditating. I look forward to using the app each day and the “Singles” they offer are great. Very impressed so farI use other meditation apps, but took up the free yearly offer from Balance and I’m so pleasantly surprised. I love the personal aspects of it, how it designs meditations for the user and also how you can use the same voice for all the meditations, which helps you feel another personal connection with each one. Love this app. Recommend it where I can!Really love this app. I’ve never understood meditation too well but this app has really changed my mind on the benefits of meditation and time out. Amazing App Definitely DownloadI can’t rave enough about how much I’m enjoying this app. I struggle with focus (ADHD,PTSD). I’ve been trying various apps for months. And now I’ve been consistent for over a week now. I actually look forward to opening the app. I crave it throughout the day to settle my mind and body 1. The immersive experience of reporting how I feel then having the instructors adjust to it best feature hands down. It feels like I have a personal coach. 2. The Design is clean and not many distractions which is why I prefer it to Calm. One coach multiple options. 3. Walking meditation, procrastination meditation, so many body scans which I love. Who new 10 mins could be so life changing. 4. The educational part isn’t overwhelming. It comes in bite sizes over time. I appreciate the questions along the way that show me I’m learning. 5. There’s a feature showing how many hours I’ve done total and it checks off how many days I’ve been consistent(streak). I could go on but I’ll stop there. I’ve shared it with everyone I know who would value it. I just want to thank you the creators. This app is really impacting my life in the best way and I couldn’t be more grateful. Because of this app I meditate everydayDevs — is there a way users can change their top goal? It’s not a huge deal but I originally just ‘Focus’ as my top goal but this changed over time. Best mindfulness app I’ve ever used - not kiddingWas lucky enough to get a year free with these folks. Without a doubt, best mindfulness app I’ve ever used. It has really helped me with my sleep, I would recommend using daily as the meditations literally change every time you use them. I’ve never fallen asleep so fast. I really love the level of detail they go into with body awareness, I never noticed the tension I held in my face until using this and getting specific detail on what parts of my face/body to relax. I recommend it to everyone asking about mindfulness apps. I think the price is kinda extreme, but they often have 75% off lifetime subscriptions and I will be SO SAD if this app ever disappears. Awesome appI love that you can decide how much time you want to spend on each individual meditation. I find the immersive ones so fun and the vibrations makes it easy to imagine what is being described. I don’t fall asleep immediately after the sleep one finishes but at least I’m relaxed. It’s not just controlled breathing with closed eyes!I’ve always been skeptical about meditation as I believed it was just about sitting around with your eyes closed and breathing slowly. In recent times my mental health has been very poor and I reached the point where intervention was needed. I tried a couple of similar apps which were all charging a lot of money but without allowing you see what was on offer first. For that reason, I really appreciate Balance for offering a free trial for the first year. I started off by trying a couple of different plans and singles to focus on specific thoughts and problems in my mind. I’ve also been listening to the sleep meditations (up the mountain is my favourite) and it clears my head for the night rather than laying there processing the day and various worries in my head. 2 weeks in now - I’m sleeping better and I’m more focussed. I’m still feeling burnt out and a little numb but will be listening to some of the positivity lists next. There’s so much relevant choice, it’s fantastic. Thank you. Never turns my brain off before fullyI love Balance Meditation/Mindfulness app. I have done 46.5 hours so far. Never have I actually need able to turn off my overactive brain. Not during sleep or yoga or self-meditation. Balance allows me to follow simple instructions & relax when for 49 years on this planet I had not relaxed my brain. Not even as a small child from what I have been told. Ofasu’s guided relaxations & meditations and progressive relaxation finally connected with me 46 hours ago. I just completed the “relax” meditation in which I was able to calm my brain for 10 minutes despite my new chronic pain. Thank goodness I found Balance. I genuinely thought meditation was NonsenseAs someone who never mediated and was uninformed regarding this topic, I couldn’t see how just simply closing your eyes and sitting in silence could have any benefits….And that’s true because it doesn’t, because that’s not what mediation is at all. It’s actually way more layered and complex than I had ever imagined. I was so wrong about all of it. The idea of meditating seemed counter intuitive through the lens of anxiety and adult ADHD, both of which have kept me in constant motion from task to task. So I figured meditating would just increase my anxiety and make me more restless so I made up facts about it to myself and never tried. The barrier to entry is always what makes trying new things hard but for mediation Balance was a seamless and relaxingly simple experience. I started out with only 3 mins a day and instantly felt my stress, anxiety, restlessness dissipate, while my focus and mood improve drastically. Honestly I used to think the only way to feel this kind of relaxation and lowered anxiety was from a few drinks…..it’s great to know there is a much better, healthier and sustainable option. 10/10 I would recommend Balance to everyone and I’ve suggest it to everyone I care about..Version: 1.52.0

100% recommendedUsed this app for a while now, really helps me relax during the day when I am feeling stressed. The morning and night meditations are amazing, this app really gets you in a calm space of mind. I recommend anyone who is overly stressed or struggles to cope with relaxation to give it a go. Amazing appThe only reason I haven't rated it 5 stars is because it lacks a feature to turn of the suggestions. This can be particularly frustrating for the short singles. It would be appreciated if they added a way to stop the guide making suggestion of what I may see, hear etc. These can be useful at first but I wind up annoyed that he doesn't stop talking. I like to notice things for myself. It can be useful in longer ones though as it helps you stay alert while learning to do long sessions. Other than that I can't recommend this app enough. The programs aimed at teaching you all the skills are very helpful as knowing where to start is probably the hardest part of mindfulness training..Version: 1.112.0

PerfectTo me this is everything I wanted in a meditation app. It’s got a really nice design, with great images; 2 great voices to teach you the skills; a wide range of skills to teach, with great plans and single meditations; the wind down and sunset meditations are very relaxing and really unique, and to top it all off, it gave away a free year subscription. My only hope for this app is that it doesn’t go down the route of throwing everything into it like apps like Headspace have done to an extent. I love the simplicity. It might be nice to have a ‘daily meditation’ to do for once I complete the advanced plans, but otherwise this has everything I want. Definitely going to subscribe next year..Version: 1.22.0

Truly Life SavingI’m a college student working towards nursing school. The workload has been rough and I had some friendship issues. Suffice it to say, I was recently in an all time low. I got a add on instagram and I decided to check it out. I was skeptical and had the idea that this app was probably going to be a money grab or something in that manner. I was completely wrong. I was so amazed with how I felt after 1 session. I always had the idea that meditation was sitting with your legs crossed while you hum. I was very wrong. After 10 minutes of laying on my bed, breathing, and following instructions, I felt like a new person. It sounds very over exaggerated but I have never been so in tune with my mind and body. The fact that there are various exercises for almost every daily situation is amazing and it makes it easy to utilize the app. The way the lessons are made make it seem like the coaches are really there with you and want to help you. I really don’t know where i’d be mentally without this app. I definitely would’ve been in a worse situation than I currently am. Balance has improved my life.I apologise in advance - I don’t leave reviews very often for things but I really felt that I had to share my experiences with this app. I suffer badly from anxiety and have great difficulty sleeping. I have tried so many different apps and followed so many guides to try and help with very little success, until now. Using Balance has improved my life. It really is as simple as that. I have only used a fraction of the resources the app offers but I have found everything I have tried to be so helpful. I have a daily meditation everyday just before I get into bed, followed by a sleep meditation to help me drift off. I can’t even begin to stress how much the sleep meditation has helped me to actually drift off on a night. Since I have started using balance I’m getting twice as much sleep as I was before. Just brilliant!I’ve tried many mindfulness apps this year. This one has blown my mind. I’ve been diagnosed with hypermobility & also sensory neuropathy of my hands. I have to deal with chronic pain & nerve pain. My doctors have handed me very strong opioid painkillers & other nerve drugs - they’ve all stopped helping & now I’m struggling coming off them. My illness & the drugs have changed my personality & I now have high anxiety, mood swings & still daily pain. AmazingI have breathing issues and discovered Balance while practicing my breathing techniques. I found it incredibly helpful in all different scenarios. The best for sleep, waking up, or calming down :) I love itOkay so this review might be kinda long but I swear just read it. I have to say, this app is perfection. I play the meditations when I want to sleep if I seem to be having insomnia or even if I’m not having sleep problems because it makes my sleep that much better. I use Leah’s voice (there’s a male and female voice so you can choose what one you want) and anyway it works like a charm every night. I loved it so much that I played it for my sister one night and she actually fell asleep in minutes. The vibrated meditations are super calming too, and keep my mind at ease since I usually visualize things as I’m thinking (especially at night). I haven’t tried every meditation but some let you answer a few quick questions before you start to make it even more personal, one example being the frustration meditation (I think that’s what it’s called). One time I was absolutely LIVID because of someone, and the meditation really gave me some perspective and calmed me down in the heat of the moment. I’m a huge fan of meditation and I practice regularly and this app offers something different from any other I have come across. Great app!!I moved away from headspace as I found I was never consistently using the app. It’s definitely a different experience with the instructors voices, but after adjusting I find Leah’s voice so soothing and I’ve become much more mindful in my practice. AwesomeI’ve tried pretty much all the big name meditation apps and this one is hands down my favourite. The plans are really useful and I find it helpful following a daily progression with my meditation. It makes it easier to stay consistent. The questions it asks to personalize you meditations encourage reflection and have kept my motivation up because I’m actively considering the benefits each day. The singles are great as well! I love their wind down, end of the day, and guided relaxation sleep meditation. Excellent meditation appI can’t recommend this app enough. Very intuitive, beginner friendly, but gradually becomes more focussed on a purely meditative experience as you progress and become comfortable with it. This app got me to focus again, which I thought was impossible. The trials are well worth it, and it’s best to buy after trying their first free course so you and the app know exactly what you want to work on. Multiple modes of meditation, which offer stress relief or just a calm experience for any time of the day. Stress used to be a real issue for me, I was someone who never took meditation seriously or could never focus on doing it, but with some good timing, luck and a little perseverance, for once I stuck with this and I’ve never looked back. Love this app!I typically never write reviews for an app because I tend to think that most apps for me are just used to pass time. I really love this app, I downloaded It about 30 minutes ago because of an ad I seen on instagram saying a free year trial, have to say that when this trial is up I’m most likely going to renew it. It’s awesome. It’s asks you questions at the beginning so it can personalize things that are aimed directly towards helping you as an individual. Covers a wide variety of things you can do. I’m really restless when it comes time to try to sleep and I was testing through the features of the app and found one where it helps you towards not biting your nails anymore, as I struggle with that. Anyway, within 5-10 minutes I was in an extremely relaxed state of mind and didn’t feel like my mind was running rampant. Absolutely essential for life!I don’t know what I would do without this app in my life. Training in meditation has been so incredibly helpful to my wellbeing and my ability to deal with anxieties I picked up in my middle age. I bought the lifetime subscription, because I want to always have this at my disposal. The lessons and techniques make a real difference, especially if you stick with them. I absolutely love Ofosu and his calm and loving demeanor. It would be great to one day shake the man’s hand. If you have any struggles at all with anxiety or stress, do yourself a favor and at least try this out. You won’t regret it. Suggestion for the dev/UX team. I would love the ability to set any meditation to automatically load a soundscape when it completes. This would be especially helpful for the sleep meditations (and would make the most sense here). I suffer from Tinnitus, and while I might fall asleep with the meditation, the sudden silence wakes me up at the end. Stress relief, life skillsThis app is, surprisingly, incredibly personalized. it takes you down a tree of different possible paths, tailoring the meditations offered to your needs, your anxieties, and your preferences. this app listens to you and interacts with you in a way that you know that the team behind it cares about you. i have never reached such a level of peace in my life before having started with Balance. it’s improved my concentration and observation skills, which carry over into the quality of my writing as an academic. i sleep better at night. i haven’t felt anxious in months. this isn’t an end-all be-all, but it bestows upon you the necessary skills to live healthy and in the moment, and allows you to find out for yourself what “healthy” and “in the moment” mean for you. i used to always become frustrated for “failing” to meditate or clear my mind. Go-to appI’ve learned SO MUCH from this app, particularly through using the personalized plans. I’ve used other meditation apps and this one doesn’t compare. The personalized plans are attuned to your goals while also having single meditations that allow you build freely on different skills. It’s really helped me grow and made a difference in my day to day life ESPECIALLY with my mental health. A suggestion; I’d love to have a highlights/notes section for each mediation under the plans. Whether that be an option for me to take personal notes, or highlights designed by the app that I could use for future reference/write down so I don’t have to try and memorize techniques that I want to use in the future. I find that I learn a lot but sometimes forget details learned during the mediation, so I have to put them in my notes app immediately after for future reference. Absolutely the best optionHaving experimented with some of the better known/better publicised meditation apps in the store, this is by far the best example. It’s friendly, and intimidating, and free from the “celebrity” sections that are to be found in apps like Calm and Headspace. Balance guides you gently from the very basics, all the way through to some profound meditative experiences. It also adapts beautifully, almost magically, to the users comfort with various aspects of the meditation process. To my knowledge, this is unique.
