✓ A work in progressThis game so far has been the ultimate time waster. I don’t feel overburdened with micro transactions, or wait timers, or stupid gimmicks designed to make me spend money. This game feels like a passion project. An obvious tribute to the fallout series, it does what it aims to do well. That being said, it needs some work. There are very minor bugs here and there, and overall there isn’t a lot of substance aside from going out of camp to loot and coming back to camp with more items. There are a couple of “long term” goals that will keep you invested, like fixing the van or crafting new benches, but overall i fear there isn’t much to do in this game. ✓ Pretty good, work in progressI don’t think I need to repeat what other reviewers have said abt what needs to be improved. (bugs, crashing, ad banner, and such) Other than those, the only other suggestion I have is cosmetic. I’d like a little more options when customizing your character. I know they’re low-pixels, but some more top options, hair options and the like would be nice. Other than the above, the game is rly fun! It reminds me of old text-based adventures and point-and-click games. I enjoy the encounter system and especially having a pet (wonder if you can have different kinds later on) and all in all just being an engaging, interesting game. I especially appreciate there is an option to pay for extra goods and services, instead of exclusive perks/items hidden behind “in-game currency”. ✓ Ad banner problemEvery time when either fast travel or double reward a item you must watch an ad. Simple right? No there is always a ad banner that overwrites the x button on the ad. Which then keeps you there until the ad banner is gone which is like 5-10 mins. You can just close the app but then the resources that you try to double is gone saying you have already searched the area which has set me back multiple times in the game. I can’t even fast travel due to the ad banner continually blocking the other ads X button. So can you PLEASE put the banner lower when you watch an ad or put it more up as I see that every time you watch an ad there is a black space at the top of the screen. I ran into 3 mutant bugs on my first journey out after update and the third one killed me. ✓ Something ain’t rightOriginally I played this game and it was a good work break jump in and out tap game. It’s evolved to a good state. However, I play Dead Cells a lot on this phone, and in a 45 minute run on that I’ll use approximately 20% battery. Now when I load this game up in about 20 minutes it will use 75% of my battery and make the phone hotter than the sun. So I’m not sure how a tap pixel game is using more processing power than a game that has high FPS side scrolling combat with particle effects, slow motion, dozens of enemies on screen at a time in fast flowing combat all with honestly some of the most complicated AI pathing I’ve ever experienced. ✓ Lovely game before updatesI downloaded this game a few months ago and I was obsessed right away. New updates came along shortly after which did add excitement and really cool new features but unfortunately the bad is outweighing the good at this point. First update I noticed all my quests were losing their titles and details so it was almost impossible to do my quests, which is fine I mean I had a lot of caps so I wasn’t too worried. A few updates I believe after that I’m now also running into the issue that my game is crashing about every 5-10mins. I do understand this game is in the motions of getting a lot of improvements and updates but I do think the most important thing is a reliable game. It’s hard to feel like you aren’t completely wasting your time when you’re relaxing playing a game and repetitively losing progress every few minutes. Also one more note, when I started there was billboards with ads which I didn’t mind at all, if anything it was fun to read/watch the different little signs but now there’s ads popping up at the bottom into my screen halfway and it’s extremely annoying. It becomes boring and monotonous, you press the travel button and it takes life from you and gives no action. It asks me to get on discord but gives me no invite?!! ✓ BugsThis game is great and fun however I keep getting griefed by constant glitches targeting my vehicle. I once again lost all my car parts and everything I had initially stored in my vehicle disappeared, alongside that I had spare car parts stored alongside other useful and important items I also had the mario quest item alongside the items I mentioned initially all in the trunk but now they all disappeared, can you look into this glitch and prevent it from happening over and over again preventing me from progressing. ✓ Fun. The way it saves needs workIt’s very fun, not super complicated but I find myself picking up and playing for really long periods of time. I go to do something but then get distracted by this game because I enjoy it that much! The music is nice and adds to the atmosphere. I like that if you want you can give yourself a handicap when starting a new game, in case you feel things have gotten too easy. Update: I left this review because I got a pop-up in game stating that if I did so I would receive in game items. Well I clicked ‘okay’ which brought me over to the App Store. I left the review as asked, and then when I re-opened the game it did that thing where it had exited out and I had to reload my save file. ✓ Laggy and glitchySuper cool game! I’m not going to lie I’m hooked, but it’s been repeatedly glitching and giving me a black screen which forces me to exit the app and restart it every 20 minutes. At some point, it smoked my iphone and continued playing the background music even though I exited the application. My phone then wouldn’t turn off even when I was pressing the power button. It ended up restarting my entire phone without consent and it’s still being glitchy. But again, the concept of the game is amazing, I just think this game is better played on newer phone models or even a computer. UPDATE!!! Knocked it down a couple stars because I can no longer play the game. I am able to open it but it immediately freezes and forces me to restart it. ✓ The game itself is awesome!!!First off, the game is awesome. It’s a gem in the App Store as I feel it’s one of the few ones that doesn’t make you pay to play. It seems I never get bored either, there’s always something new to do! Definitely the best survival game I’ve come across! I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the crashing. Seems as if the latest update made it worse. The game used to freeze on me about every 20 minutes or so - I’d have to quit the app, restart and I’d start off where I left (although fights in progress would be gone). I made it a habit to save the game every time I entered a location or about every 3 hours of traveling…usually that did the trick. With the newest update however, the game just crashes and upon reopening the app, I find myself back at camp at all times. The only thing is that the trading is not very fair as when u want to sell a medkit it gives u 10caps nut when you buy one it costs 200 which makes no sense. I also wish the characters had some animations when fighting i dont get why u can only see their shoulders and up. But apart from that its a fun game. No app support.I rarely write reviews for games in general, but seeing as I couldn’t find a single option for any kind of app support, I’m not really sure where to post this. I’ll start by saying this game is incredibly fun, think fallout meets turn based strategy. Overall I only really have one complaint, but it’s a huge deal breaker for me. The ad banner. When the banner is active, it literally covers a huge portion of the game screen, which on its own is a scummy business practice that I find incredibly obnoxious. Normally I don’t have a problem with ads, assuming they’re not intrusive, but this one covers up a bunch of important info about the game (how many caps and tokens you have, your level, your day count) to the point where the game is almost unplayable while it’s active. That being said, I decided to support the dev by purchasing the $4.99 monthly subscription, the main reason being that it supposedly removes the ad banner. That didn’t happen. All of the other “perks” (which were negligible btw) are active, and restoring my purchases gives me a “subscription is active” notification, but the ad banner still pops up constantly. It’s at the point where I don’t want to play the game on principle alone. ✓ Please Read: Bug After UpdateVery fun game! Not pay to win and definitely time manageable. The only reason why it’s 3 stars is so the developer can see my description below of other bugs that I found, as well as my van parts disappearing even after the latest update. Van Parts: I have been using my van for quite a few days now and have never had van parts disappear on me. I even collected multiple pieces of certain parts of the van in my storage in case parts of my van broke off, such as 1 cable, 3 car batteries, etc. Right after I updated the game to the latest version today, all of my duplicated parts disappeared and I am left with just 1 of each duplicated item. I checked my van when I realized that and my van was still usable with no parts missing. I went on to play a bit more and saved the game before exiting, but when I returned to the game, I lost all of my van parts in my van (the ones that I had in my storage are still there but I do not have enough to use the van). I know the developer is working on this bug so thank you. I just wanted to state my situation with the van parts disappearing in hopes it may help with fixing the bug. Other Bugs: After the update, my progress on locations got erased. Usually when you discover a town, the name of the town will show. After the update, all of the town names disappeared and became ???. ✓ Fun but brokenI hope you fix this game. It’s very fun to play, but when I use the game with wifi or data it crashes instantly. The game would work without wifi so I would turn it off to play it (Even tho I restarted my phone and deleted the game several times). While playing I was in a sandstorm, and the screen went completely white and I couldn’t carry on my game. ✓ WAS Amazing Then This Release CameI’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say this latest update just has some bugs but I’m leaving this at 1 star until the game mechanics are tweaked to something close to playable again. I’ve played this game for years across its various platforms and I loved the simplicity of design and immense strategy the game required to survive - plus finding the right strategy that worked for your character build made it that much more interesting! I am disappointed to say this is the most game breaking update I’ve encountered since playing this game for the first time years ago... Fighting is nearly impossible even with great gear... that might seem little but surviving by dumping all your valuables and running is only supposed to be a last ditch effort, not the only way to survive any moderately difficult battle!
