✓ Incredibly fun gameI bought this game on a whim not expecting too much, and found a game perfectly designed for mobile. Each run is fun and unique with a variety of locations and monsters to battle. The graphics are simple but beautifully drawn and well animated. Every character you choose from is incredibly unique as well. For example you have your stock standard fighter who can get good weapons and armour. Then there’s the mage who relies on attacking enemies on the board outside of combat. Then the rogue who relies on sneak attacks and running away. I still haven’t tried the last two characters yet. ✓ MeteorFall: Krumit’s TaleI’m the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan of these deck building games. The only other game in this genre I’ve put any serious amount of time into was Hearthstone. I enjoyed it up to a point but what really annoyed me was the use of real money in order to purchase new packs of cards for your deck. Now MeteorFall is a one off up front payment. That’s what I want in a game. No pay to win.. The other thing that attracted me to the game was the lovely animation. It’s very reminiscent of Adventure Time. The undisputed champion of kids cartoons. I’m 51 and I love it 😆 The battles certainly require some thinking about and the five main protagonists all have various skill sets and their own strengths and weaknesses. All of them sent on a quest by the mysterious Krumit. From stealth to magic to outright pugilistic action there’s a hero to suit everyone’s play style..Version: 1.0.198

✓ Best Game Ever (Highly Recommended)I am in love with games like these and this one is the best yet. I love how all the characters are so unique and cool. I did find one problem and that is the difficulty of the game. Some people find it hard to pass certain levels and I personally like that but my brother is finding trouble defeating the last boss. I did give him some advice but I feel like other players don’t have that opportunity just saying. ✓ What a nice game !It’s hard, in my first 5-6 run I only managed to get to the final stage once, but it’s so good, the different character are unique and bring a whole different gameplay each time. The learning curve is quick but it stays challenging. The only two things I would like to see added is a landscape orientation mode and a little alert or something to tell me when I unlocked a new character. ✓ IncredibleIn my opinion this is legitimately one of the best games on the App Store. I had Apple Arcade for a while but cancelled it as nothing really captured my attention. I can’t put this one down. It’s polished to perfection with amazing artwork, animation, sound and gameplay. Of course if you don’t like card/puzzle games this won’t appeal to you, but if this is your sort of thing this is honestly the best the App Store has to offer. It’s so nice to see a game made with real love and care that’s not simply a vehicle for in app purchases. ✓ Slay the Spire but winnableI’m really loving this game. I experienced a bunch of crashes but after rebooting, it worked fine. I’ve beaten the game with all 5 original heroes and am now trying some of the advanced challenges. The challenge level is just right. Much better balanced for a casual-occasional-hardcore gamer. ✓ Well put togetherThe game has beautiful art/animations, it’s super smooth and just feels like a really well put together game. In all honesty though, I just don’t find it very fun for some reason. I got super in to STS, pirate outlaws, darkest dungeon, etc. but just cannot get into this one no matter how hard I try. It feels like a chore to play. Suffice to say, this is a fun, and addictive deck building rougelike. 6 playable characters, each of which has a fun and unique play style that keeps gameplay from becoming stale between runs . Krumit’s Tale is amazing in that it is both oddly unique, yet extremely similar to other games of this type. This allows one to quickly learn the basics and begin the process of formulating an optimal deck for each run. Yet, it’s been 30+hours and I’m still learning new strategies. The card descriptions, music, and character animations are top notch. Would happily pay for more. As a bonus, the developer is active on social media and extremely friendly! This game drew me in due to being set in the same universe as Meteorfall Journeys. Another deck builder by Slothwerks that I highly recommend. ✓ Always have this one installedMan, games come and go on any platform but Krumit’s tale, I always keep. Waiting for the train or have nothing to do on a lunch break I just pop this out and play. If you enjoy strategy games this one is great, not for sitting there for hours but to give your brain something to think about for a couple of minutes. A full game normally takes (I think) 20 minutes and you can pause it at any point. The new characters give playability. I love this game and I hope the developer keeps not only exploring this world that they’ve created but just keeps making interesting accessible strategy games..Version: 1.0.260

✓ A Stand-Out ExperienceInitially I picked this up after hearing it mentioned on a podcast I follow, but lost interest after many frustratingly short runs as I was just trying to get my head around all the various mechanics of the game. The addition of “Explorer Mode” which offers a variety of modifiers to tone down the initial difficulty curve was a total game changer. Those easier modified runs make it hugely more enjoyable to experiment around and really get a solid understanding of the mechanics and various deck build possibilities. It’s much easier to try things out when you’re not facing an immediate end to a run after one or two misplays. Art style is great, and the game loads and runs quickly and smoothly. The save-state functionality is something that truly makes for an outstanding mobile experience as well - no matter where I am in a run I know I can close it up and pick up exactly where I left off later..Version: 1.0.240
