GymStreak: Workout & Nutrition for Negative User Reviews

Not for Serious Gym GoersReally like the idea of the app because I thought I could stop thinking and tracking myself. But Excercises are extremely body weight focused even when you select that you have all equipment available. progressive overload is extremely difficult to do at a gym with body weight exercises. Extremely unlikely you’ll have items such as weighted vests or a partner to help you stack weights on your back when doing push up variations. In summary. Generates impractical programs for a gym setting. Have an option to remove body weight excercises and I would rate this and definitely subscribe..Version: 3.2.3

It keeps asking me to reviewIt’s so annoying and keeps asking me to review the app…I just want to work out.Version: 3.1.2

LaggyOnly just downloaded the app and it looks like it would be great if it wasn’t so laggy. I have an iPhone XR so a little old but not obsolete and it takes so long in this app to respond to my touch and adding workouts is a nightmare because of this. Wish I hadn’t paid the deal price and would like a refund..Version: 3.2.3

The developers have clearly never been to gymI don’t understand the workout plans that the system puts together. Literally makes no sense. Maybe you need to employ people who actually know how to put a workout together so it’s a better process. Why should I use your app if I have to create my own plan every time..Version: 3.1.1

Honestly Don’t KnowApp requires signup for FREE trial. I get it’s a small team and whatever but I refuse to signup and possibly forget to cancel anything I don’t absolutely need. That said... The app looks very well designed and seems to ask some good questions to start. Personally I think there are better programs out there that also provide “personal training” options via online/phone. If I was going to hire a trainer, I’d hire a real trainer. But that’s me and I also have years of gym experience. These “trainer” apps are a novelty to me to be used to maybe better my results..Version: 1.27

Karen FredIt was ok.Version: 3.1.4

Its not a free app if you cant use it without subscriptionAfter fill all the information and you tell me I can’t open it unless subscribe?.Version: 1.26

This app is a scam!!It says 1 week free trial and it charged me $200!!! I want a refund ASAP!! I would not recommend this app to anyone!!.Version: 1.20

Takes a while to find the priceIt’s reasonably priced but I’m not sure if the quality of the app is good or not. I’m giving it one star for being yet another app that makes you fill out so much information before telling you the price. It’s such a dishonest strategy to trap people into purchasing..Version: 3.2.3

Buyer bewareDEFINITELY DON’T LINK TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT! The app is okay there are others out that are better. My issue is with billing and transparency. I originally signed up for a free trial which was supposed to be $35ish per month after the trial period. Shortly after signing up I ruptured my ACL and totally forgot about it. For the last few months I’ve been getting hit with notifications about a $100+ charges attempted to my account. I only have this and one other subscription on my apple account so I opened the app and tried to find a way to cancel subscriptions. Even going under your account profile there are no details on how much it charges and the only button for your subscription says “restore subscription” when you click it it provides no information or verification check other than “your subscription has been restored” which say that it’s a money grab. Even attempting to use their “contact us” button just opens up an email to which no one responds..Version: 4.18

Decent so far but the rating question!!I have only used this app once, so I am still getting the hang of it. So far so good, but my main issue is it started asking me to rate the app during my workout. Hit the Later button…only for it to come back after my next rep. Seriously, I bet I had to hit “Later” close to a dozen times DURING my workout. Not helpful. I was about to “later” the app because of it..Version: 3.1.4

Good app but kept asking me to rateAfter every single st it would ask if I liked the app and to rate. Every time I could cancel, say yea or no, the same prompt would appear after the next set. Very annoying.Version: 3.1.2

Decent..The workouts are not bad, I’m happy you can switch out sets. What’s unfortunate is you can’t swap it out for a personal exercise you enjoy. If you do then you can no longer rely on just the app to track your progress, which is a large part of its purpose. As an iOS developer it wouldn’t be difficult to implement. People suggest it to them quite often but I’m not sure they listen to their customers. It appears all their updates are quite random and don’t ever address what the consumer base necessarily desires, but at least they actively work on the app. Other than that, the app is far better than the few other paid apps I checked out. It would be worth trying the app out with their free trial.Version: 3.2.3

You need to pay money to use itYou can’t use the actual app unless you activate the plans (pay the money). Then you are allowed to use one week free trial. Waste of time.Version: 1.26

Annoying review pop upOnly writing this because I was asked about 78 times to review the app. Was actually unusable without writing this to make it go away.Version: 3.1.2

FakeIt’s fake, as mentioned in the ad that it is for free, but it is not..Version: 4.14

Don’t do free trial if you want one time offer “for life”Wish it was clear that if you do the free trial for a week, you’ll no longer have the “$20 for life” option. Then I thought I could cancel the subscription on the date my App Store listed, but that was actually the auto renew date. Wish I did the $20 for life option (since I’ve just been charged $20 anyway). It’s a great app and interface, but I could never justify $200/year on an app, no matter how good it is. Would have given it 5 stars if what I mentioned above was clear. Feels like a trap and I should have known better..Version: 1.16

Charged double and no communicationI was charged double for first month and no response. I think I’m now at rush for being hit with an additional year payment and I don’t know how to stop this..Version: 3.2.3

Don’t waste your timeAs soon as you open the open it jumps right to a screen where it gives you different membership purchase options and it runs on a timer for three minutes. There is no option to close that screen or to decline what they are selling. I have tried completely shutting down the app and restarting and it just comes right back to the same screen with the clock restarted. I’ve never even been able to actually use the app because of this. Deleted….Version: 2.31

Add more peopleI love this app. I’m a new Personal trainer so this has really helped me, however I’d like to see a function that would allow me to add all my clients different work outs. This app also will count your rest, which I love! My client knows once you hear that bing they should be doing rep 1. UPDATE: I was told they had this feature in their beta program and told me to go follow and like them on FB and the link would be on FB however all these months later. I’m still not seeing this beta link and I’ve even posted in the fb page asking for the link and still have not gotten an answer....Version: 2.10

It’s annoyingMake it stop.Version: 3.1.2

Stop asking me to reviewStop asking me to review its ruining my workout 😡.Version: 3.1.4

Pressures you to buy blindlyThe app didn’t give me a chance to try it out, my screen was immediately overtaken by a prompt to pay for a subscription. Not entirely sure how I’m supposed to make that decision without trying the product out. I couldn’t close the subscription prompt and explore the actual app. Even worse, the app tried to pressure me with a 3 minute time limit on a significant discount, which is a pathetic move. Not the company I’d want to give my business to..Version: 2.31

Good app annoying forcibly having to rate!Interrupted work out constantly until I rated this app. Good app annoying people running it. Paid good money not to interrupted every 2 minutes until I rate it! Very annoying sort your stuff out team!.Version: 3.1.4

AnnoyingAsks me every 3 seconds if I want to rate the app. So here we go.Version: 3.1.4

Doesn’t even deserve 1 starOnly can use if you subscribe. Pointless app, there are better workout apps out there. Do not recommend.Version: 2.26

Not a great oneI have downloaded the app recently and took the subscription, firstly the app is not flexible like the one I used before which makes it hard at times. Second, the exercises are not new from other apps they are nearly same.i wouldn’t recommend this..Version: 2.07

Has potential but not worth the annual feeWay too many bugs and the overall user experience is poor and not worth the fee in my opinion. Really difficult to navigate through the app especially when trying to build your own workouts. Also you are asked to provide feedback on the app 2/3 times a minute which is very frustrating.Version: 3.1.4

139$ per annum scamBeautiful scam, great execution. Almost fooled me in subscribing to an insanely expensive subscription… then… 68% One in a life time offer you got to take in 3 minutes..Version: 3.2.3

Long Time User…NEVER COMING BACKI have used and enjoyed this app for well over a year. Just had this months subscription pulled out of my account three days ago. Went in to start a workout and instantly get rejected because I have to pay another fee on top of the subscription that I already pay per month. GARBAGE policy to pull that on someone once they have already paid for the month and honestly, totally not an app paying that extra fee. Moving to “Centr” or “Workout” now. Both are much better platforms, with a lot more content, and significantly higher numbers of users..Version: 5.20

PriceA little pricey.Version: 3.1.2

MisleadingMade you put in all of your information and then charges you a fee. Definitely better apps out there that aren’t expensive.Version: 3.1.2

RubbishA waste of money: the AI is not so “intelligent” and it just add 1kg or 1rep more per week proposing the same exercises every time; few weeks ago it added an annoying notification red dot that I can’t remove, and last but not least it suddenly erased all my workout records with no chance to recover them. Because I already paid for 1year subscription I will continue to use, but don’t expect a renewal because as it is at the moment it urges massive improvements for the whole price requested..Version: 4.18

Cannot get past the logging screenCould be my phone, signal etc… but I have tried twice to get access and I get to the Hight weight screen and it’s freezing and going slow and not responding then I got to sign up and it wouldn’t let me click on any fields to sign up so left review feel bad giving 1 start but app is unusable for me. iPhone 13 version 15.5.Version: 3.1.4

Pls stopStop making review pls.Version: 3.1.2

ABSOLUTE RIP OFFThese must be paid reviews or people who are beginners in the gym. First of all I only purchased because I was tired of doing the same exercises and was looking to switch things up. Based on the reviews I blindly went ahead and purchased. BIG MISTAKE. Thank God I was smart enough not to spend a 100 dollars and was only out $33 instead. There is nothing special about the workouts. If you’re someone like me who already frequent the gym and already had a set workout routine then this is useless. Basically if you already know what you’re doing in the gym then don’t bother. If it was free maybe but it’s not worth the money. And the nerve to be charging $100 🙄. Needless to say I cancelled the same day. I wish there were more honest reviews to save me money..Version: 3.2.3

Disappointed with updateWow, got so excited to update the app because I have been loving it for the last 6 months, to open in utter disbelief. Whats happened? The UI/UX looks terrible. Only giving 3 stars as an average from before update of 5 stars to after update of 1 star. This is purely aesthetic as I am sure the functionality must still be good. And whats happened to the AI helper which was so good?! Hope you can sort out!.Version: 5.03

So/soApp works fine as a excersise guide/planner but sharing aspect of the app doesnt seem to work! Even after recent update. The AI assistance asks you to do certain things that arent available to do. Think i have a different app from what the AI thinks. Still using it but looking for alternatives due to misinformation and cost.Version: 4.15

Its good.Ive only just started using it and it seems to be going ok. Will update in a month.Version: 3.1.2

Updated version is a disappointmentPrior to the new update.. I loved this app! New update features which are rubbish: -I don’t want to take a “selfie” before and after every workout.. and can’t disable the function? - the recently logged sets for each exercise aren’t in any order.. just all over the place so you have to manually search for your last weeks sets to improve weight. - can’t disable the warm up sets? I don’t need to do a warm up set for every exercise - you can’t tick off an exercise whilst rest timer is active... I don’t wanna get on my phone between every set to “tick off” after each set. All these things weren’t an issue until the latest update which is very annoying. There at least needs to be a way of disabling these functions.Version: 2.04

Incredibly badIf you’re already very fit, it might work well for you. But this isn’t for beginners so matter what it says. I’m 6’2” 300lbs and the workouts it gave me even on beginner/30 mins was mostly body weight workouts. - also it doesn’t allow you to change vitals once they’re entered. I was curious how the female workouts look, and there was no way to check. - Lastly it kept asking over and over if the app lives up to my expectations, I keep clicking no and telling it to stop asking but it does it over and over. Sooo here you go, well deserved one star review. Y’all stole $13 from me out of curiosity lol.Version: 3.1.4

EasyEasy to use asks for ratings too often.Version: 3.1.2

Not a free appMakes you fill out a huge survey then tells u you can’t use the app until you pay $174 a month.Version: 3.2.3

Not worth the moneyNot worth £20 a month when there’s other apps around for £4.99 a month that offer the same plus much more. Cancelled my subscription. Would like a refund as for £20 a month I expect the app to run smoothly but it crashes when I try to change the weight during a workout and also crashes when I’m editing the rep amount. Very buggy, slightly better since the update but still no where near a £20 a month app..Version: 1.27

Crashing upon new updateApp has been working perfectly until the recent update. Since updating, every time I try to open the app it crashes, it’s very annoying and I have paid for membership and now cannot use the app. Please can this get fixed. Thanks.Version: 1.25

App works wellDoes what it needs to. Gives exercise directions and tracks progress..Version: 3.1.4

Not honest onboardingIt makes you waste time answering many questions and singing up with your email and then it tells you that you have to pay to use the app. 🤦🏽‍♀️ disrespectful with my time.Version: 3.2.3

No info on payment before signupDownloaded, created an account, entered all data and was then asked to subscribe, no upfront info. Would not recommend, price also ridiculously high, especially for what it offers. STAY CLEAR.Version: 3.1.2

Only issueApp keeps freezing when you add or change anything in the app. Uninstalled 🤷🏾‍♀️.Version: 3.1.4

I liked it until…I’ve never had a problem, and Liked that it gave me substitutions for my workouts but as I was completing my last workout it asked me over 20 times if I liked the app and to rate. I hit that I liked it and later a majority of the time, and even said no and submitted my review so it would stop and it didn’t. I’m trying to focus on my workout not rating your app. Fix it..Version: 3.1.4

Not a very sophisticated algorithmThe lifts provided repeat every workout. The only apparent change between workouts Is that the weight lifted in each set slightly increase and the number of sets/repetitions increase as well. Also, the amount of prescribed weight increases is incompatible with standard weight sets (think of going from 120 to 125 on dumbbell bench, 62.5 dumbbells are not commonly available). After two weeks of using this program, I am lifting lifting less weight and more sore due to fatigue from doing the same lifts 3 times with just higher weights and more reps. These kind of issues should’ve never made it out of beta testing and seem to represent an over reliance on unsophisticated algorithms..Version: 1.27

No option to cancel auto renew to be foundBe cautious...no information of costs for subscription. No option to cancel auto renewal of subscription. No contact information on web page. Waiting for a response from their email support..Version: 1.25

WasteI’ve had this app for 5 months now and up until this point, it’s been great! Unfortunately as of late, there have been so many crashes that I can even get to the app to see the loading screen. I’m in a very pivotal moment in my journey to becoming who I wanna be. I’m so close but now with this app acting up my progress is going out the window. I wish the developers would get on here and fix it instead of releasing an update and saying “we fix the crashes” a lot of people use this app and for them to just have his here waiting is very unprofessional..Version: 2.25

Kinda sucky how they make you pay so muchThis app looks amazing but with such a steep price it is unfortunately out of my reach. Maybe lower the plan price and I can actually use it?.Version: 3.2.3

Good idea, bad costCosts $22 dollars a month, but a great idea and training program, I mean it’s kinda worth it but not at the same time, maybe if it was around $12 it would be definitely worth it.Version: 3.1.4

Poor serviceThe app will not allow you to restore purchase. terrible.Version: 4.12

ScamNo trust worthy! The only option you can press is the annual subscription. The free trial is not an option.Version: 1.26

Cannot reset my passwordEvery time I try to reset my password, I open the link but then it opens directly to the app and nothing happens. Update your damn app..Version: 3.2.3

I didn’t even have this app installed!I cancelled my trial subscription before it even reached its duration! And it still took off 141 CAD off of my card! This is ridiculous! I cancelled it today because I found the notification from apple telling me that it charged me this much!.Version: 3.2.3

Some useful bits but ....Like the way sessions are laid out and timer is good but exercises are dated, editing a workout is a pain.Version: 1.29

GarbageTLDR; basic algorithm, nothing AI or adaptive about it. Could do better on excel. buggy, basic, boring. I have been using the app for a while and honestly I have found so many issues and holes with it that I want a refund. This list includes but isn’t limited to; 1. Not having an option for six days a week 2. The weight increments not being appropriate/not changing in the stages I request when I request. 3. Reps/weight not changing together or working together 4. Limited options for cardio input 5. Losing notes from workout sessions 6. Losing progress when you switch up workouts 7. Bugs when weights aren’t saved week to week 8. Forearm progress never inputted into the ‘web’ 9. No option to change rest times manually per exercise Not to mention the creepy messages/comments I receive from members of the ‘community’ whenever I have posted I really don’t think this app is set up smart at all. It’s a silly simple algorithm I could have set up myself on excel! When reaching out to customer service, nothing in the way of rectifying all these major issues was at all offered..Version: 1.27

Very poor experienceI deleted this app after using it for less than 30 mins mainly because the rating pop up keeps popping up every time you enter the app. And it doesn’t stop no matter what option you choose. SO ANNOYING! Additionally, when it generates a workout for you it leaves all the weights as 0. Customizing workouts isn’t as intuitive, and it doesn’t have an accompanying Apple Watch app..Version: 3.1.2

Fake free trialI wanted to try this app out to see if it was worth spending money on. After downloading and putting in my information, the app offers free trials for both their monthly and yearly subscriptions for 1 week. So I chose at random the yearly one, thinking it doesn’t matter since I have a week to decide on the app and I can change to another type of subscription. Well I was wrong! After agreeing to the “free” trial period these “thieves” charged my account immediately the 1 year subscription! I tried to contact them and received an automated response. Now I’m trying to get a refund and it has been a hassle. The billing for this app is a scam to take your money! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TRIAL! Even if the app was good I’m annoyed by this shady tactic to take your money!.Version: 1.18

Very bad supportNot working at all, do not buy that app, you will be regretting.Version: 4.11

Rate nowIt asks you to rate the app way too much.Version: 3.1.2

Account IssuesI downloaded this app last year with an using my Apple ID and signed up for a one year subscription. I deleted the app and unsubscribed later that year, but when I tried to redownload the app this year, it could not find my account even thought I have access until May 2022. The app support button also does not work, and there is no form of customer support. The fine print says subscriber ID will be changed if user does not resubscribe within 180 days. Also there is no option to sign with Apple ID anymore. Awfully updated design..Version: 3.0.7

Password recoveryGood luck if you forgot your password. I tried it for at least 10 times and tried today again. They haven’t fixed yet.. I don’t recommend to anyone don’t waste your money and get something else …..Version: 4.12

AnnoyingAsks every minute if u want to rate it.Version: 3.1.4

Just another lie...Claim to be an honest company that only needs your money ‘to keep the lights on’ but then make it as difficult as possible to manage your subscription. Just avoid guys - £20 per month?? They are honest hard working people asking for the same amount as an actual gym per month!? 😂 Crazy. The actual app itself is OK but nothing different to whats already available. Chances are you will use it for a couple weeks and then get annoyed with it before eventually deleting it from your phone in 6 months wondering ‘what even was that app!? Ive got so much rubbish on my phone!’.Version: 1.27

The new versionI’ve had this app for a few years. I use it every time I workout. The latest update has changed the entire layout of the app. It used to be easy to open the app click the part on the avatar you want to workout, and see the demo of how to do that particular exercise. I had a hard time even getting to the avatar since the update. I also don’t even see the option for the female avatar any longer. I don’t think I will be renewing my subscription after this year..Version: 3.0.8

ReviewGood app, it asks for a review after every set which is annoying.Version: 3.1.2

App CrashHi. The app is crashing when opening in iPhone iOS 13.7 Please fix it..Version: 2.10

OkSuch a nice looking and refined app, but wow you really can’t do much without paying for it. Had it for not even a week and slowly realized all the setbacks. I’m writing this because I can’t log my fourth workout this week; it keeps telling me to subscribe to unlock more workouts?? As a student I don’t really want to spend a spare 40$ for the limited offer, not to mention the 120$ yearly going forward :/.Version: 3.2.3

RateGood so far, only rating as i keep getting asked to rare the app every time i look at it or press anything bery annoying can barely use app because of it.Version: 3.1.4

TerribleAbsolutely terrible. I set up the app stating I had access to all types of equipment and it gave me body weight exercises. Not to mention the insane cost for premium. Deleted the app within 20 minutes of downloading.Version: 3.1.1
