✓ Go with Hallmark.I rarely give bad reviews and I had a lot of hope for this app but I can’t believe this app. Do not download this app. Total waste of money and customer service is terrible. Your gift cards will be trapped on the app and it seems like the company has no idea how their own app works. Also, they are sent to friends in messages that look like spam so you need to call your friends to tell them they are getting something. Totally stupid. For all their feel good love and friendship messages the company’s attitude does not reflect that and is more like “give me your money and leave us alone.” Go with Hallmark or some other app to send messages and skip this one..Version: 4.0.2
✓ Love the idea .. BUT….I had stumbled across this application in the Apple App Store and really thought it was going to be a great idea. I sent a gift card to a friend and they had to download this application in order to retrieve it. Huge annoyance for her because she did not want to set up an account. Then after receiving the gift card she wasn’t able to just add it to that stores account. She had to then copy and paste it out of this application into another one it did not automatically edit. A few hiccups along the way but I really think you need to figure out a way to let people receive gifts and not have to make an account and download another application..Version: 3.4.8
✓ Overall Simple App but Doesn’t Like Large PurchasesI downloaded the app as I didn’t want to mess with going to the store to get Giftcards for my co-workers who recently helped me out with an issue I had. Anyways I purchase two $20 gift cards and then I was able to only purchase one $50 gift card before getting a message my card was declined. I reached out to my bank to which they shared they had not placed a hold/declined the purchase. I tried several other cards and with Apple Pay and without Apple Pay. Nothing has worked - I have reached out to support via SMS and I am awaiting a response. It’s more of an inconvenience then just going to the store at this point..Version: 3.6.3
✓ Huge issueI would give this a 5 were it not for one glaring issue: You cannot change the cover of your card after you have made it. I created a card which I spent a lot of time working on, but after finishing I thought a different cover would go better. You can’t change the cover without starting a new card. This is an absolutely must have functionality. I’m honestly very surprised no one caught this. I do not want to start a new card and lose all the work I put into the back of my original card..Version: 3.0.25
✓ EMBARRASSED CUSTOMER!!Purchased a Sephora gift card through the app for a friend’s 40th Birthday back in July. The funds were taken from my account a day later. Since then my friend has not been able to use the card. I sent numerous emails to support. I initially received a response from support (Amanda)that they were looking into a technical problem with Sephora. I waited 2 weeks and then asked for a status update. No response!! I have sent numerous emails since then and still no response. It is now September and my friend is unable to use her gift card. THIS IS A TOTAL EMBARRASSMENT FOR ME THAT I WAS UNABLE TO FULFILL MY OBLIGATION AS A FRIEND. BUT WHAT IS MORE DISAPPOINTING IS THAT SUPPORT HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY NUMEROUS COMMUNICATION ATTEMPTS. BASED ON THAT I WOULD GIVE THIS APP LESS THAN A STAR. IT IS A SHAME THAT THEY HAVE LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER BECAUSE THEY HAVE IGNORED MY REQUESTS TO RECIFY THE SITUATION. ✓ IntrusiveI like the cards - very modern and graphically pleasing - easy to customize and environmentally friendly. I don't, however, like the intrusiveness of the app. I had to give my cell phone number after I set up my account with an Apple signing. Then it forced me to provide access to my contacts and there's no way I can enter an email address for a recipient by typing it in myself. With a friend's birthday coming up, I decided to test sending a card to myself. The email says I have a card and there's a link to "open my givingli" but unless the recipient provides their cellphone number, the card cannot be picked up. More intrusiveness. ✓ Great app!I have been enjoying this app for various gifting purposes and it has been amazing. People receive the gifts on their own schedule so it gets delivered promptly despite the holiday season. One thing that is making give them 3 stars is because I’ve had problems with payment. I’ve had to delete the app and redownload a few times to make my Apple Pay go through(plus your drafts get deleted in the process). I know my cards work because I was able to put money in my Apple Cash but not pay with it. Please fix this and I’ll change it back to 5 stars..Version: 3.6.9

✓ Fun, but a little difficult to useI’m so happy to have found this app. I’m a digital creator and usually print off my work. However, with this app I don’t have to print anything. I can just create what I want and send the final card on to the person, skipping the “middle man” (the US Postal Service) and the unpredictable (sometimes long) delivery time, as well! The only reasons I didn’t give more than three stars are because the app is a little difficult to work with. Since I’m still learning how to use it, I have to experiment with it for awhile before saving my work. I think it should also have a few more features to make final creations classier or more elegant, if desired..Version: 3.5.2
✓ Privacy concerns and error messagesThis app is something I’d use regularly to send friends and family gifts. The card designs are cool and adding text is easy, fun and feels creative. Unfortunately, though, there are a few things I don’t love. First, the app seems to require a phone number in order to sign up. And when I use a Google Voice-type number, it doesn’t work. That raises a red flag for me considering that I’ve used many apps and websites to purchase things where I’ve not ran into that problem. I’ve also read that it can be a privacy and security risk to share a personal cell phone number with businesses. Also, it seems like the app requires access to ALL of my contacts in order to send a card. Reluctantly, I did all that and tried sending a digital card. But the link caused the following error message each time I tried to view the card online: “Safari can’t open the page because the server can’t be found.”.Version: 4.2.5
✓ Great, when it WORKS.I used this app a couple times for birthday gifts for friends and it worked okay. I thought it was convenient and I loved making custom cards. I had an issue with my payment but after trying a few different things it went through. Then, a few months later, I tried using it again. The app refused to accept any of my payment options (even though I know for a fact I had all of my information correct, and my payment works fine everywhere else but on this app). I tried EVERYTHING to try to get it to work because I had already spent all this time creating a custom card and picking out a gift. After trying at least 30 different times using different strategies, the app STILL would not let me buy my friend a gift as it was declining all of my payment options. I really wanted to like this app but I’m definitely deleting it off my phone now. It was such a waste of time and energy..Version: 3.7.0
✓ Great concept but buggyNot sure if it can’t handle high volume and load, but I tried sending 2 cards this morning. For the first, I made it through to end hit send and paid for my gift card. I showed a confirmation that I paid in my Apple wallet but never saw a confirmation in the app. It just sat there asking me to send again. That’s the only way out of the screen. If you send, you get charges again. Finally i had no choice but to quit the app. When I tried to enter, it just sat there on the launch screen. Finally it reloaded. And I tried another thinking it may be me. Maybe my internet. Again, I made it to the end, hit send and I am waiting at the end with no choice on where to go. I can’t get back into the app now. It’s still sticks on the launch screen. I was kind of excited about this. I work in the loyalty and rewards industry as a product manager. ✓ No response from customer serviceSo I purchased a gift card with a card that I sent. When recipient received the text message with a card and a link they tried to register on the app but it wouldn’t take it. So the purchased giftcard can not be accessed be me or person it was purchased for. So I ended up contacting Givingli customer support. I did get one reply asking for recipients phone number so I provided it. After that I have not gotten a single message back. I have been sending emails asking about resolution of this issues every few days for several weeks now and I’m getting no responses. Very disappointed and frustrated with lack of customer service.Version: 3.3.5
✓ Has a small setbackOverall it’s a good app with a great concept and easy to use. You still have good options within the free version which is a plus in my eyes. However… for an app that primarily promotes this as bday e-cards, I really expected there to be a “calendar” feature somewhere to make a note of important dates. Idk if I’m blind but I looked pretty hard for one and I didn’t see it. I still like the app, I just think it would be a really good addition to add that feature so it can remind you of upcoming events (not only bdays). ✓ Took money but didn’t sendI love the concept! It was super fun to create a personalized card, however, once I finished creating the card and purchased the gift card, the app TOOK the money from my account but DIDN'T SEND THE CARD!! It kept asking me to send again, then tried to re-charge me. There was no confirmation that the personalized card had been sent. I had to go to my bank account to figure out that the money was debited. Again…money taken for gift card , but card not sent. Additionally, you have to do a whole google search to find a customer service number and email —as the only info in the “customer service” tab/section is FAQ’s. Many comments I read indicate that recipients are also not able to use their gift cards? Had I known I wouldn’t have purchased this app and would have saved me a lot of trouble. 😩 I hope to get money back..Version: 3.5.5
✓ Pushes Recipients to Make Account/Download AppI was SO excited about this app and scheduled several cards/gifts. Fortunately I sent a few test cards to see the recipient experience. When opening via text, they are prompted to download the app before seeing the card (you can copy the link and manually paste in your browser but I wouldn’t expect the recipient to know this). When opening via email, there were 2 issues: first, it required the recipient to enter their phone number, which shouldn’t be needed when sending it to their email. Second, on a desktop they’re promoted to sign up for an account before they can view the card. The friends/family receiving cards would not be comfortable downloading or providing info for a site they aren’t familiar with. It’s unfortunate because the app itself it’s actually really nice..Version: 4.1.9
✓ Technically UnsophisticatedThe app is very poorly designed, seemingly only to appeal to the aesthetics of simple consumers. I was sent a “gift” I couldn’t retrieve without first downloading the full app (no offering of a web browser version for one time use) and then go through 2FA for the most rudimentary app? Why is that level of security needed on an app with SSO options?? All that only to arrive on the other side and the gift I received is no where to be found, despite having the email on the account corresponding with the one that received it. ✓ Creating a new account won’t connect your text linkI have an IPhone. My dad sent me the link via text from a family friend for the gift. I see the gift in safari. It tells me to download the app to receive. I downloaded the app and created a profile, but no gift appears. I try to open the link again but only directs me to download the app again. It is unclear how this text link could connect with my new account. There is also no way to redeem the gift with an email address which the website claims either. Perhaps it is because I have an iPhone and it thinks it can try to connect but fails regardless. Overall I'm frustrated with my experience. ✓ Total scamThis app appears to be a total scam. I received $50 to Dicks Sporting Goods from a family member through Givingli. It was sent to me through a text. I clicked the link which had a birthday card and said it was $50 to Dicks and to download the app. I downloaded the app and the $ has never shown. I tried numerous times and the text link stopped showing the actual gift after too many clicks post app download. I have had terrible conversations over direct message with customer service who can see that the gift was purchased by whom I said and that it was in fact supposed to be sent to me. And still no resolution. Their last recommendation was for the gifter to reject the gift and resend it. It seems as though the business model is to make something look easy when in fact it’s a cluster and then make it so difficult to correct that. I do NOT recommend..Version: 4.0.1
✓ I am an infuriated end user.I deleted my account because Givingli keeps spamming my e-mail with reminders of holidays, new cards available, etc. There was no unsubscribe button, and I had e-mail notifications turned off. I value a clean, minimalistic inbox, and Givingli was preventing me from keeping it streamlined. The cycle of getting a plethora of emails from them, trying to unsubscribe, making sure my email notifications were turned off for everything, and even changing my contact email to an old account I never use went on for months before I realized that I am simply a dissatisfied user of this app. I am concerned with what Givingli has done with my info. I don’t even care about the product they provide; if they can’t respect that I don’t want to be spammed with their marketing emails, I don’t want to use them..Version: 3.6.1

✓ Nothing is FreeHonestly I was so excited to try this because I’ve already been doing this same thing myself. I would create a digital version of a card, and email/text it to the recipient for the occasion, but sending a gift had to be done separately, and that is a bit of a pain. I thought I would at least be able to try out this app, which claims to have a free version, but none of the quality designs are free, and it seems you have to pay to customize any design, which just…really defeats the purpose. There also I believe is a fee on top of the gift cards, which I’m not sure is necessary. I am also irritated that they require a phone number to use it. Not that my phone number is so private anymore, but they’re lying about why they collect that data. If you read their Privacy Policy, you realize that isn’t collected to prevent spam, but actually to connect your app data to your other ad profiles. They are selling off your data profile to third parties, and that’s going to be their biggest profit, which makes it further annoying that none of the app is truly free..Version: 3.3.3
✓ Was good until it wasn’t.I was so excited to find this app! I sent a few cards without an issue. I don’t know if it’s due to Mother’s Day and high traffic on the app, but I struggled to send cards to my mother and mother in law today. Then, when my MIL tried to access her card, it told her “bad gateway.” I’m disappointed because there was a video on there from my husband and I. We haven’t seen her for almost 2 years and currently can’t go see her as planned this summer due to covid. Looks like I’ll be deleting this app, as now it won’t even load when I try to open it. ✓ Glitch perhapsLove the idea. Downloaded it, was prompted to put my birthday, I did. Then noticed on my profile it has the day before my birthday listed as my birthday instead of my actual bday. I edited it, thinking maybe I messed up. Go back to my profile, still says my bday is the day before my birthday. Edited again, same thing happens. I delete my account and start over, same exact thing happens, it lists the day before my birthday vs my actual birthday. Deleted my account again, uninstalled and reinstalled - same results. Continues to list the day before my birthday as my birthday instead of my actual birthday. Couldn’t make it past being frustrated with those steps so just deleted it. ✓ Only $10 and up…My original purpose for this app was to send little “thank you’s” to colleagues, friends, and family. The idea wasn’t necessarily for it to replace Christmas or birthdays. Recently they made it such that the minimum increment is $10, so I can’t just buy a $5 gift card to Dunkin or Starbucks. If I was able to choose an increment less than $10 it would be 4 stars (-1 star because the recipient must download an app or access Givingly on the web to redeem). But, since I can no longer use it for the intended purpose, 2 stars. Still a cute idea, though! And if it’s to send gift cards or gifts for Christmas and birthdays it would be 5 stars for sure..Version: 4.2.2
