✓ Beyond HORRIBLE!This whole thing is a rip off! This camera works when it wants too and does not capture everything. Not only does it drain the best batteries frequently, you have to reset it multiple times. I’ve had this camera for approximately 1 year and I have changed the batteries more than I’ve changed any other batteries in my life. Also, since it’s been a year and I did not take any of their subscriptions, after 24 hrs it’s locks the previous images and wants you to upgrade. This is a TOTAL rip off attempting to force someone to subscribe. As of today, I’m DONE with Kangaroo! Ring here o come! It’s TRASH!.MzLacoeyVersion: 9.0.11

✓ Update to 3Latest update- the product arrived. It was packaged real well. Very easy to install. Giving it 3 stars cause the doorbell camera just stitches bunch of pictures. In the end 9 out of 10 times it doesn’t capture the persons face especially during package deliveries. For this to work a person would literally have to stand in front of the camera and be still for a few seconds to get their image. Good to detect motion but pointless as a camera. Previous review - I invested in this company via republic. Been activated on the app for over a month now but still haven’t received the kit. So far my experience with the company is 1star. ✓ Not worth the hassleThe app and service is mediocre at best . With a lot of lost videos at the absolute worst timing . On top of their covered loss protection ……. That’s a complete joke . I had over $35,000 US IN LOSS . And their camera and paid service didn’t even notify of the fire , much less , their 2500$ reimbursement protection was denied because I couldn’t afford the cleanup and restoration to send them a final receipt of the charges . ✓ I havnt been THIS DISAPPOINTED in a long time!I bought the “privacy camera” device and it has never connected to wifi. (It has to be connected to wifi to work at all). Kangaroo customer service wether it be in chat or over the phone is completely incompetent. Couldn’t get my device online, so I have to return it. Everything else in my house is up and running just fine. No issues with the internet at all. No connectivity issues what so ever. I spoke to several customer service agent/techs and all of them went through the same exact scrip same exact trouble shooting, no one could actually figure out the problem and they wouldn’t let me speak to a supervisor/manager/some one who knows anything at all about squat. ✓ Not happy with the purchaseHow about the door Bell camera and tried to install it today on my iPhone and did not work and I tried for a couple hours even called the company they tell me to wait a couple hours because they’re fixing some kind of issue that they’re having with iPhones and their app because when you go to set up and to pair it with your Internet it logs straight out as a whole app which is not good do you have a chance to even try it then I want to take it back but I will try One more time tomorrow before taking it back to Walmart where I bought it if it don’t work tomorrow it will be going back that’s my review because I can’t give a full review when I could not use it to get it to work sad for a company to make a product like this and tell you got to white other companies don’t do that you get connected right away but this one not that great not raining in me over wish I would’ve saved up and got a better one right now at this time given my opinion.Gogo6464Version: 8.2.4

✓ Needs instant arm feature + moreI bought two motion sensors for the fun of it. This app needs improvements though, hell, the whole service does. 1) id like to be able to arm instantly, 3 minutes is not an ideal time gap, or better yet, you should be able to change yours according to your home. 2) they need to have notifications when motion is detected, not just when the system is “armed”. ✓ Like but Needs some fixesPlease make it so that I can connect when I use my Extension Wi-Fi. Also, it spins when a phone call or something interrupts the view. I end up having to swipe it out and reload. Finally, I use to watch my dog, so I know when he needs to go to the bathroom. I leave the view on during the night only to find that it locked up in the morning. This only happened today, so not sure why. It’s never touched during the night. Please make some adjustments. ✓ Not the best but it worksThe first problem is it takes too long to activate the camera. This subject is already passed before it starts functioning. Second problem is they set it up for face recognition but it says everything but faces. Tree branches, moving cars traveling down the street which is far away, and even those that only catches the tail end of it. Also, nothing in the settings really seems to make any difference and how it operates. I’ve had it for quite a while now, probably a couple of years, but I’m thinking about investigating a better operating system. I live on a dead-end street so there’s very little traffic but the camera will be sold off 50 or 75 times a day seeing the tail end of a car or a tree branch moving. People walk up my driveway then up my sidewalk and up my porch in our entering the door before the camera turns on..Jerking me around!Version: 10.17

✓ Cameras have issuesThe whole point of having a security camera is defeated. The live option never works, it just shows what looks like a photo even though my internet has no issues. The new “cooldown” method is stupid and it doesn’t give you the option to turn it off.. the camera goes offline at random times even though my internet is again fine. I watched someone walk down the sidewalk from my window and yet the live option didn’t show it nor did the event get recorded but the camera/connection was fine. ✓ I hate the privacy camera!!!Bought the privacy camera. After setting it up the app continues to crash. I contacted kangaroo via the chat box and on the phone. They told me that this actions hasn’t happened in a while. However they would look into finding away to correct the error. A few days after the ticket was submitted for the app crash they send me an email informing me that they were closing the ticket. They still have not fixed the issue!!! Even though I really want to say yes given how cool and intuitive it is to use, I can’t say I trust it. Sensors and door/window controls seem to work fine. Doorbell camera is a joke, it’s like take your $20 and flush it down the toilet kind of a product - but it’s $20 so I can live with that. My disappointment is mostly with privacy camera, it’s great when it works, but it works only about 10% of the time. Most other times it’a just a black screen with a spinning trying to load circle... ✓ NotificationsI recently purchased this doorbell camera and downloaded the app three days ago and it is not notifying us when the doorbell is being rang nor is it showing the pictures on the app it just keeps saying loading photo stitch and nothing ever comes up. ✓ Very buggy. Notifications do not show upThe notifications came for an hour then…poof! Gone. Even the in settings of my iPhone XR, Kangaroo does not appear. It appears on my iPad’s settings (although the iphone version is also installed there (only avail. version)). The iPad receives only banners whether locked or unlocked. It receives no sounds although sounds are checked. The iphone receives neither type of notification for button/doorbell presses OR for motion. Meaning if I’m at work I can’t set the alarm for my home because it turns on at both locations! ✓ Gets the job doneAs far as security, Kangaroo is by far the best system that does everything you need at a price that doesn’t break the bank. The only thing I do not like and hope the fix soon, is the integration between Kangaroo and Google home. It seems to disconnect randomly at times and I always have to re-integrate the two at the most inconvenient times. ✓ GlitchesMy system has gone off twice without being triggered at all. On several other instances I have disarmed the alarm, it confirms that it’s disarmed and still goes off once the door is opened. It also wouldn’t clear with the key fob a couple of times. I left ADT and now I honestly wish I hadn’t but I will wait it out since I paid for a year of service. Kangaroo has great potential but it still needs a few fixes. I would also like an option to view sensor history (Ex: what door was opened/closed and at what time) in the app and not just via phone notification that you can’t view any longer once you clear it. ✓ False Sense of Security Junk Doorbell Camera!Complete junk! Picture quality is unrecognizable. You spend more money in AA batteries then what it would cost to get a ring video doorbell. ✓ F you are looking to buy this to feel safe, forget ItWell that was $20 thrown in the Trash. I was really hopeful that this would work, the hardware looks ok, but the application isn’t up to what you expect. Most of the time when I get a alert, the camera trigger is too slow to actually get a picture. I have tested with my self coming to the door and walking away, if I do it just right, there’s no pictures of me. The other thing is, sometimes I would do the same thing, there would be no register whatsoever of me going in front of the camera and turning away. If you are looking to buy this to feel safe, forget It. The other thing is, you can’t just open the app and “see” what’s outside thru the camera, the only way to see it’s to have something trigger the motion sensor and get a stitch of a few pictures. ✓ Terrible customer service and productsThe app itself is fine, but the product be warned burns through batteries at an obscene rate and if you have any issues their customer service is of no assistance. With the number of batteries this takes, you will lose any savings. I reported multiple issues of poor battery life, connectivity, and the doorbell camera having exposure issues with no offers to resolve it from their support despite multiple attempts. ✓ If you have iOS don’t buy this..App kept shutting down. I used 2 different iPhones and neither worked so I called the 800 number. She told me that because I tried 2 times there was nothing she could do because it blocked both numbers… lucky for her I have a iPad with a phone number as well. ✓ 2/5I bought the doorbell camera on clearance at Lowe’s. The setup was easy and straight forward. I mounted the camera on my front door as recommended. I tested it out by walking up to my front door to simulate a package delivery. I got one bad picture of my back on my way back down the steps. The camera takes way too long to activate when motion is present. When I did have someone ring my doorbell when I was at work, I got no clear pictures of who it was. It is also too sensitive and picks up motion from the street even after I adjusted the sensitivity. A car passing by will set it off but will be gone before the camera activates so I have a lot of notifications and pictures of my front yard. It is also a hassle that I can’t go straight to my “video” (which is just a handful of pictures stitched together) without completing setup which means entering my credit card and other personal information. ✓ Need to work out the bugsI love the idea they’ve got going but the functionality is still lacking. So far I’m only a week or two into it but had to turn off notifications for the front camera after the first day. There is an adjustment that can change motion detection from 8 to 16 feet. Unfortunately it does nothing. I had to turn off notifications because after about an hour I got 10 notifications all from cars on the street that is about 30 or 40 feet away. I even get notes when my neighbor moves outside and he’s 100 feet away at least. So if you want a super sensitive camera (that btw isn’t great quality or color at all) it’s great. Wrote to customer support and they said they are working on it but nothing I could do as of now. Hoping it gets worked out but you get what ya pay for I suppose. ✓ For the value it's great!I got the $50 kit and it's worked great so far. I just wish they did two things. First, I'd love for there to be a panic button within the app itself and not just on the keypad/siren. Also, it desperately needs Google Home support. Not just Google Assistant support. Was disappointed when I found out I couldn't see or control it from the Home app and to use the system I have to say a very specific phrase to my Google speaker.
