✓ Light are great but it has some major problemsThe lights are good quality and have lasted a while but their app has many problems. The app has one of the worst and most cluttered user interfaces that I have used ( although I will give it to them that it has been improved over time but still not enough) and sometimes the light stops working properly. In fact, the latest update has stopped my light strip from connecting to wifi and every attempt through the app with every troubleshooting step keeps giving me errors when trying to re-connect the light strip to the wifi. This has stopped me from being able to control the light strips from other apps and I am forced to go into the app to connect through Bluetooth to use the lights. All in all, great hardware but the software is obnoxious and needs improvement..Version: 5.7.02
✓ DisappointedI’ve had one set of these lights for ages that have worked perfectly. I bought two more sets a few months ago and one of them has already got 3 lights that have turned yellow, they all disconnect from Wi-Fi continually and now they refuse to come on with the timer. Your reviews are starting to look atrocious so you really need to address these problems before you losing all your customers..Version: 4.8.2

✓ Lights are great but that’s it…..Lights are great and have great colors to choose from and all. But the Bluetooth on the device and the searching for the lights on the app don’t work at all. My phone will only turn the lights on and off for about a week before it starts saying “failed”, even tho I’m right next to the device with the phone right by it. It’ll still not connect to it. So I have to unplug the lights, forget the device and retry to pair it again. I’ve had to do that many many many many many of times and it’s getting ridiculous. When I want my lights on they should just turn on but no I have to wait for it to find the device (which takes forever) then it just doesn’t find the device at all so I keep trying and trying just to give up and sit in the dark. Bluetooth is crap on the app and doesn’t connect to your devices. I mean it will for about a week then you have to repair it again. Have fun doing that for months. I tore my lights down and I’m sticking with lights that plug in and I can turn on by a button..Version: 6.0.02
✓ App won’t update correctlyI’ve used this app for the last 3 years to monitor my greenhouse. Never had any issues even though the battery dies every winter and I change it out in the spring. I’ve been using it for the last 3 days and have been right next to it and the app will register the temp and then the next time I go in it takes me to a reading from a year ago and won’t update until I stand next to the thermometer again which defeats the purpose.Version: 6.0.20
✓ Scheduling does not workIf you’re using the app to manually turn on/off items like a heater or lights then it works fine but if you want to set a schedule I would turn to a different company to invest in. We bought a heater and need to schedule it on/off throughout the night in my daughters room and it absolutely does not work. There are always timezone issues or the heater stays on when it’s supposed to turn off. Major issue for me because her room heats up very quickly and we’re not in there to feel it because it’s the middle of the night. We’ve woken up and her room is ~95°F before we realize what has happened. If you haven’t already purchased a Govee item I’d suggest finding a different company..Version: 6.0.30

✓ Good amount of choice but keeps losing syncLots of nice features in the app but when setting up a group of lights of the same type it works for a bit and then loses the ability to control the group. Individual control via Wi-Fi is ok but group control via Bluetooth just stops working. Keep having to reset the lights and re-add them every week..Version: 4.8.2
✓ Limited ProgrammabilityThis app is great for scheduling the heater to turn on at a certain time, but there is no way to schedule the heater to turn off automatically. This is a problem because we need the heaters for an otherwise unheated workout room, and if we don’t exercise one morning, yet we forget to enter that room to turn off the heaters, they will run all day, wasting electricity, running up our bill, and potentially causing a fire hazard unattended. ✓ Good, but could be betterThe quality of the lights are good, however the app isn’t all that. Regularly disconnects me from the unit, And I’d like to see a better colour spectrum, as ideally I want to get a pale yellow colour, but unable to. ✓ App not fully refreshing.It’s December 18th 10am and on the top of the screen the temperature is up to date but all these stats below did not refresh since December 15th 5am … it rolls and rolls, gets stuck between 20-40% and doesn’t update at all. The reason I bought this thermometer was to be able to track temperature in my greenhouse through the night BUT it doesn’t refresh, all I can see is the current temperature and that’s it. My greenhouse is literally next to my house so it’s like maybe 5/6 meters away from my phone and even if I stick my phone out through the open window it doesn’t update. On the beginning it was updating randomly once per day but at this point last update was 3 days and 5 hours ago. Moneys wasted wish I got different brand one. ✓ Terrible appFirst thing about the app is they advertise their own products, which I get, but spending anywhere from $30-$100 on a product the app should not have any ads. Secondly, I use the app for maintaining humidity levels. WiFi connection drops constantly and loses the log in info having to reenter it. The humidifiers maximum is 70% which can be problematic for some people using them in greenhouses. I wish you could enter a higher level. Thirdly, The app is clunky and not very intuitive, but it’s not the worst app I’ve ever ever used..Version: 5.9.11
✓ Disappointing loserI was really excited to purchase my Govee TV BACKLIGHT 3 LITE. Well unfortunately it turned my whole weekend into weekend at Bernie’s! My family I sat around like a bunch of dumb dead idiots when the app the lights and the whole nine yards sucked. It wouldn’t hook to Bluetooth and then if it did there was quickly yet another problem. Maybe you guys should stick to one product and then you could possibly get one that works. ✓ Super complicatedI just simply wanted to connect my newly purchased govee thermometer to my phone via the house’s Wi-Fi so I can see live data even when I’m not home but it is just not possible. It gives you 200 different settings and gateways and sensors and God knows what else instead of having a single bloody option to connect to home network. ✓ Love the humidifier, not the appLove this humidifier! It is fantastic… has saved my relationship because it has helped with our snoring… and allows us to have essential oils helping us rest and recover, at night. My beef is with the app. Every time I unplug the humidifier to clean it, it no longer connects to the app. I have to we-download the app and reconfigure it, each time. This is a bit more than frustrating when I have to clean it at least every 72 hours. Also, why can’t I save custom color combinations (what good is the saving of specific colors if I have to re-apply them each time I have to reset the system. ✓ The lights are amazing but the app needs serious workThere are some preset light modes which are great, but as far as everyday requirements this app fails to achieve some basic things. there’s no shortcut for turning on your lights via speech control through siri, there’s no widget or shortcut you can add to your home screen to turn the lights on and off or control them in any way without accessing the app. the app itself is also a bit slow in connecting to the lights so everything is quite delayed. the DIY section should be easier to pick and choose from your custom settings as it does take too long to select and set up. basic compatibility with the shortcuts app will go a long way, even if it is a simple turn on/off function as it’s quite inconvenient to load up the app everytime or physically press on the controller. every second counts, the less time you spend on your phone having to manually do everything the better..Version: 3.9.2
✓ Worst App ExperienceBy far the worst App UI and most confusing application I’ve ever had installed. Seems like their is a lot of creation but the app is so dang confusing and nothing walks you through it. The creation process can be much more simplified. I’d immediately fire whoever is in charge of the UI of the app. What a horrible, confusing, waste of time. I’ll never buy another set of these lights ever again specifically due to the app and no remote control provided like the competitors do. Save your time and money and get another product. ✓ Overly complicated settings and can’t do basic things, rightGovee is a company that is constantly trying to do too much. You will buy their products and before you know it, they stripped them of settings and features inside of the app. The app itself tries to do too much and gets overly complicated and yet when you want to do something simple like scheduling, it doesn’t work. ✓ It is a cool application but has some flawsThe app is very good and easy to use but it has some stupid features like if you are 1k away for example you can’t turn your led strips on you have to have a Bluetooth connection to them. The app is very polished and easy to yourself when you have a Bluetooth connection but If you are out of the house it will not work and the Alexa skill is not in australia so I can’t youse my led strips with Alexa so they’re is no point if you will youse them with Alexa.Version: 3.1.1
✓ I love my Govee Lights but...I got some govee lights for christmas about 3 years ago and never got the time to open them and actually use them. So today I finally put them up. I have the H1640 lights to be specific, which I now know are not compatible with the app. I was under the impression that I should be able to use the app and have the amazing features given, but I can't. I received a card that prompted me to download the app that cant use. It would be 4-5 stars if it actually was compatible with the lights. I have a temperature sensor from this company, and it works with this app. Originally it was configured to show celsius, and it worked great all widgets from this app also showed Celsius. ✓ Not intuitive, missing features and a battery hogI’m a tech person and I find this app to be a nuisance. There also seems to be missing features. I cannot find any way to change the settings of the light strip. The orientation (clockwise vs counter-clockwise) or the camera orientation (top vs bottom) setting is not changeable after setup. What gives? Also, what’s up with the battery usage? I disable background activity for this app, yet it still takes up 10% of my battery usage with 22 hours of background usage (yet only 1 minute on screen). ✓ Please fix Speed settingThe speed slider is not stepped gracefully. If I set a light to do a gradient, the slider fully to the left means 0, with no colors changes. If I set it the the smallest move to the right, it changes colors every 2 seconds, which is too quick for the slowest setting. Further to the right is just laughable and faster than anyone would ever use. Please fix this across the app. I’ve read online comments that this has been broken for years. ✓ Give us widgets or some sort of shortcut!!!The app is not bad, but lacking the basics that you’d expect from apps these days. Firstly where’s the widgets/shortcuts? Even tho I hate Philips overpriced tag, they do have this in their app. I’ve heard nothing but good things about Govee, but come on… this is basic stuff, you have it for the thermostat thing but I’m sure there’s more people using lights than the thermostat. ✓ Good but needs improvementApp is really easy to use and quickly connects to lights however I’d like to see some improvements because right now it feels like the developers did the bare minimum to make this app. The app needs to be updated so that certain functions like switching the light on/ off can be added to the “Shortcuts” app or third party apps like “Launch Center Pro”. This way people can make a shortcut for say switching on/off the lights by pressing a specific button on the iPhone without having to open the app itself which right now I find is a bit of a long process. Yet when you use dynamic it’s pretty much just a still and and hardly flickers with the music which it did previously. ✓ How about fixing the thermometers and the batteries?So this has been a problem for the last 4 1/2 years, ever since I got the various thermometer/hydrometer sensors. The sensors work great. This cluttered app on the other hand, not so much. But one issue that I have brought up time and time again since 2020 still exists. Notifications for dying batteries are haphazard at best. Take tonight as an example. My app told me that one of my sensors had 20% battery left and that I should replace it soon. I look at the sensor on the wall and it’s dead. And it has been apparently dead for 11 days. And I know you’re probably thinking that this could be a battery issue. Well over 4 1/2 years I’ve had the opportunity to try many different brands and it’s just the same each time. I am pretty much forced now to use a multimeter to periodically test the batteries in all 15+ devices in an attempt to find the batteries that need to be replaced. this seems to be like something that’s so easy to fix.
