Planta: Complete Plant Care for Positive User Reviews

So easy and functional.I have about 30 plants of all kinds in my house. I needed a plant management system to help me. I have tried three systems with just five plants each to see which system had the most features and also was easy to use. I used the premium feature that has to be paid for on two of the apps. After two weeks of kicking the tires on each one, I found Planta to have the most features right at the place where you need them. Here is an example- the plant watering schedule will list all the plants that need watering that day with a picture you provided or the one out of their library. Let’s say your plant does not need watering that day and you want more info on the watering requirements of that plant. Just click on plant picture and then all the plant info appears. It presents this cool chart for each plant showing the water requirements by month so you can adjust your watering requirements. So in the warm period (Feb-Octin your plant hardiness zone) you can set the watering schedule you need to do. Then you can set a different watering schedule for that plant in the cold period. Pretty cool and so easy. I am still trying out all the other features. Great app..Version: 2.0.0

My plants have never been healthier!I don’t often write reviews - but this app is amazing. An absolute newbie to indoor plants I was starting to struggle with the upkeep and how to manage each plant individually. Initially I just wanted an app that would remind me to water them all, came across this one and it wasn’t long before I got the subscription! The daily task list is so useful and I’ve used the Dr Planta service too. In 4-5 weeks my plants have honestly never looked so healthy. All of them are thriving and growing! I’m so impressed. Definitely recommend!.Version: 2.3.3

Love this!I have well over 300 house plants and this makes it so easy to keep track of them, subscribed and the picture identifier works really well, I’ve had some other apps that don’t work at all... only thing is I would love a complete all button, with so many plants it’s a pain to select each plant to say I’ve watered it, would love an option at the top to check them all off!.Version: 1.8.3

Not just for novices plantaholics! This app isn’t just for novice growers. I’ve been gardening indoors and out for most of my life but this app is amazing. With almost 200 houseplants all over the house, there would definitely be plants that I’d forget about if it wasn’t for this app. Whilst it’s great for people who are new to plants, it’s also great to prevent plants being missed during your rounds, when you have a large collection. Completely customisable and so helpful, I highly recommend this app to people new to plants or those who are skilled in plant care..Version: 2.7.4

I smother my plants so this is greatIt takes a bunch of factors into consideration while forming a watering schedule. For example, the type of pot, humidity, the weather of your location, and how much light you get in your room. I smother my plants and end up either overwatering or forgetting about them. The notifications force me to give them the care that they need. Without the premium version it only tells you when to water your plants. It doesn’t limit the amount of plants you can have, which I appreciate. One recommendation I have for the app is to allow you to put an assortment of plants in one pot. Two of my plants have different watering schedules, yet they are in the same pot, and it would be nice if the app told me to either move the plants or change the schedule to accommodate them both. If that’s possible, I think it’d be an awesome addition. I love the app so far, and I’m looking forward to using it in the future!.Version: 2.4.0

One of my favourite appsI’ve been using Planta for a few months now, and my plants are happier than ever. I’ve managed to find almost every single one in the database, and the schedule seems ideal for all of them. I’ve even reached out to the developer a couple of times with minor bugs or questions, and always had a quick and helpful response. Personally I find the annual subscription worth it, as I save money on replacing poorly cared for plants, and like to support the hard work that’s clearly gone into making and maintaining the app..Version: 1.7.4

Perfect!Exactly what I was looking for! Asks for your experience, the spaces you have in the house to put plants and what in terms of what light it will get, what pot it’s in...it takes everything into consideration so I know my plant is getting the best for its specific needs. It also tells you what plants would be good for you or not depending on that information stated above. I just love it! The only thing is I wish it could set reminders for free but I don’t mind logging in to see my daily tasks! :).Version: 2.2.2

So much growthSince I stared using this app. My plants have never been happier. Lots of new growth. Love the reminders and that it’s set for my area..Version: 2.7.3

Amazing App, 1 SuggestionI have finally upgraded my account to Premium and am loving it even more now. However, I do see one inconvenient thing regarding the fertilizer options. I believe another user also brought this up. When you add a plant it asks how you want to fertilize it.. I clicked “slow release sticks” for some of my plants but have started using the little pump bottles by Miracle Gro for both succulents and indoor plants instead. I cannot change this as a setting for my plants, and do not want to go back in and re-add them just to update the fertilizer settings. Is this a feature that can be added to an future update? The fertilizer schedule isn’t accurate now since I would most likely be using the pump fertilizer more frequently than the slow release sticks. Other than this feature that I wish could be changed, this is an extremely helpful and thorough app, and I even use it in the classroom with my students for the plants they have brought in!.Version: 2.5.0

1 year of use, countless plants saved!I couldn’t understand how I was killing so many plants until this app. Since getting this app a little over a year ago, I’ve only lost a handful of plants, and I think that’s below average. Plants bite the dust sometimes no matter what we do. But this app taught me how and when to use fertilizer, when to water and how, and how much light is too much or too little. It’s so mindless, it’s perfect. Open the app, see what needs what, do that, done. No puzzling out what to do. I get the sense this app is a labor of love for the developers, and I have seen improvements throughout the year. There are still some improvements to be made, but those can only be made by more money coming in. I’d absolutely recommend this app to anyone with plants, and already have. It is such a steal to have this for $35 per year. Probably saved around $200 by not killing plants and having to buy new ones! Even started propagating plants which has saved even more money. In the future it would be a really cool addition to have info on how to propagate each plant!.Version: 3.8.3

Turning my black thumbs greenI love this app. I am a serial killer of plants - shocking track record. So far this is keeping them alive, 3 months in and they’re looking good. The only thing I wish is that I could add my own notes, and greater granularity on varieties - I got a bunch of Chinese evergreens of different types, but they aren’t all in the database..Version: 2.2.2

Amazing But....This app is amazing and works well. I have been watering my plants every time I get a notification. I am still a new ish plant owner. Because I have only recently gotten into plants. I personally think that the plant scanner should be free. Now hear me out. I can not afford to pay for Premium. And a lot of the plants (succulents) I buy do not have the name of it on the tag. For instance one of the succulents I bought from a store was just called “succulent in a tin”. I was unable to identify the plant and because I am unable to afford Premium I could not find out the name. Thus resulting in me having to go under “cacti and succulents” and scrolls for like 2 and a half hours before I was able to find the correct name of the succulent bought. You are also ( from my knowledge) unable to change the main picture of your plant. When the plants grows more or I move it or I repot it I would like to be able to change to main picture of the plant. For example, I just recently repoted my ivy and was unable to change the photo that is showed when I need to water the plant. But I am only able to add pictures to the “add details” spot after watering and it does not update the main photo. Overall these are my only problems. And the app is amazing other wise. I hope this was able to help someone. 🌿🌿.Version: 1.8.7

AMAZING!!I can barely take care of myself, and plants have always seemed too high maintenance. But since I’ve downloaded this app a year ago I’m now up to 25(!!!) plants and counting. This is brilliant, makes everything effortless. I was able to find every weird and obscure plant and the app gave me all the info i needed - where to place them, how to water them, etc. Cannot help the developers enough for this app! I’ve recommended it to all my friends and family but they couldn’t find it on other markets appstores..Version: 1.9.3

Planta ReviewWorks great and my dead plant thrived but can’t use a lot of premium features like Dr.Planta or “How to Water”. Other than that, it’s great! Recommend it 👍😊.Version: 3.33.0

Highly recommended!I installed this app in May this year, I subscribed for a year soon after that and have not regretted it! In fact it’s got better and better as the months have gone on. I see that other reviewers have complained about the price - is £2.75 a month really that expensive? I think it’s excellent value for money considering the advice and reminders you get! Other complaints about the ‘personal details’ seem rather pointless as the makers have explained exactly why they do this - it’s perfectly reasonable and valid. I have no qualms and actually it adds to what I feel is a personalised service - especially for people like me who have a lot of plants and need a lot of guidance! This app has changed how I understand, care for and feel about my plants, and for that I am grateful!.Version: 1.5.7

Good appThanks answer in progress.Version: 3.17.1

I Love This App!Planta is almost perfect at what it does—I can see my whole indoor garden by room, I can set room conditions to help dictate an automatic care schedule, it reminds me who needs what and when… The thing is I use it to make plant care easier given the number of houseplants I have and one small tweak would make it much better at this: let the user select the number of days (or weeks) to snooze a task. That’s it. Since I have so many plants, having to choose 2 days for a plant I know I don’t need to touch again for a month makes the whole app useless at reducing work required because now I have 20 snoozed plants popping up in 2 days. There is an alternative option to “skip until next time” but again that too would be better with selectable numbers as I have no idea what next time is from that prompt. Even the forecasted care schedule should be editable. Maybe Planta is suggesting fertilizing next week and I want to schedule it for next month instead or maybe it’s forecasting a repotting and I want to do it sooner or never based on observing the plant. This way when I get a task or upcoming task, it’d have so much more value. These seem like easy changes from a user perspective that would be fantastic..Version: 3.8.4

Top tier appI don’t usually leave reviews but this app has saved all my plants from certain death. It even made me feel more confident handling many plants, so I bought a lot more. And they are doing really well too! I have now about 30 happy plants. The support is also great, it doesn’t feel like you’re talking to a machine. They understand your request and provide you with the information you didn’t even knew you needed. Shout out to Elin! Definitely the best bucks I’ve spent on the App Store..Version: 3.6.0

No Garden supportThe app is simply amazing and all the information is shows is a great help. However some basic things should be added asap. 1) It assumed all plants are bought and in pots and theres no option to say you have it directly in soil. 2) related with this it would be great to add a garden support as again it assumes you don't have a garden/patch/plot. 3) adding more trees would be great 4) i saw no indication to say what stage the plant added is in or how old the plant/tree is, this would be nice to add. Can’t wait to see these added so i can add all the plants in my garden instead of pretending they are all in pots..Version: 1.9.2

Pretty Great - Worth Paying ForI like this app a lot - enough to pay for the annual membership even though I’m on a budget. I have about 80 houseplants & it makes it worthwhile for me - if you only have a few I don’t know that paying would be worth. There are a few things I’d like to see in the future for me to really love it: 1) ability for user to adjust temperature ranges - my balcony temps are just wrong, as they auto input at low range 33-61F but I live in USDA zone 8a (lows down to 10-15F!). 2) indicator for whether pot has drainage hole when you set what it’s planted in, as this seriously changes water need. 3) setting for rooting cuttings in water/medium. 4) difference in the “problem” effect on plant - it currently sets a nonstop alert when you indicate a pest like, say, mealybugs, so you have a nonstop “task” to remove mealybugs when in fact they need removed multiple times to ensure they’re gone and there will be days between those removals. I just hate the “unchecked” task when that’s the case!.Version: 2.0.1

Incredible resource for any plant lover. This app has been invaluable to keeping my many plants alive. Probably wasn’t that helpful back when I had two or three but now that I’m up in the triple digits I absolutely need to reminders to prevent over watering and keep me focused. I particularly love the progress reports because it’s so easy to forget how long you’ve had a plant or how small it was when it started. I have one really needy plant that I keep almost killing and it’s really interesting seeing the ups and downs over the months. With this many plants and hundreds of photos, the app can be a little sluggish at times. Hopefully they can work on some optimization to keep it feeling snappy even with so much going on. Sadly just as I was getting close to 100 plant milestone, there was an update that removed the total plant count - really hoping that makes a return at some point. I’d also love to see some way to group plants together other than by site. For instance, in my Office I have a few small plants that are grouped together in one pot. It can get tedious entering the pot/soil info for 3 or 4 or 5 plants when they’re all identical. And then when I water one plant in that pot, I’m actually watering all of them so it would be great to bulk-water that one pot. As it stands I would have to make it a separate “site” and then I could “add task to site”, but then I have way more sites than I really do. Anyway, that’s kinda nitpicky and overall I love this app. Literal (plant) life saver..Version: 3.4.0

App doesn’t workHi. Not sure what went wrong today, but I cannot see the tasks anymore. They show in the plant list but once clicked individually, the screen is simply black. I cannot even see today or upcoming tasks. I even upgraded to Premium thinking that was a problem with the free subscription as I’ve been using this for a while and closed and reopen the app but nothing. I’d need this resolved or money back..Version: 2.7.7

Fantastic App!As a houseplant lover and unfortunately also a historic houseplant over-waterer, this app has been instrumental in keeping my plants happy and thriving this last year! I love the premium version - 10/10 would recommend! It certainly is value for money when you’ve killed as many plants as I have in the past! Some features I would love to see in the future: 1) the ability to generate ‘babies’ or ‘propagations’ from your plants so that you can see which plant they’ve come from originally! Whenever I’ve removed babies from the original plant I’ve often thought that would be a nice thing to be able to do on the app too! 2) It would also be nice to have an area for legacy plants, similar to the graveyard, but for plants you’ve given away/sold/gifted but that can remain a little homage to or library of the plants you’ve raised..Version: 3.4.0

Can’t live without it…literallyI would over-love my plants and they’d die so I’d get new plants and under-love them and they’d die! I thought I just had a black thumb. With Planta you get a specific watering and fertilizing schedule for every plant you have plus care tips and Plant Doctor if one is looking sad. The plant identifier feature is genius and spot on most of the time. If you see a plant in the grocery store and think “hey that’s a cool plant, what is it?” Just scan it with Planta and it tell you what plant and if it’s the right fit for you. Honestly since getting Planta I haven’t lost any plants. I’ve actually acquired probably 20 new plants because I have far more confidence in my plant caregiving now. It’s impossible for plants not to thrive provided you follow the care schedule. I would %100 recommend this app..Version: 3.30.1

Great for Newbies, One Major RequestI love plants but have a black thumb, I’ve never been able to keep anything alive. My friend kept encouraging me to try again but I knew I’d need help knowing how to care for my plant babies and Planta has been awesome! I’ve been using it for a few months now and my plants are doing great! One major request, though- local weather!!! We had a cold snap recently and I had to Google each outdoor plant I have individually to figure out what I needed to bring inside for the weekend. We are also going to have rain for the next couple of days for the first time since I got outdoor plants for my deck, and I’ll need to do the same thing today to make sure there aren’t any that won’t tolerate some major extra waterings. I would 100% pay for premium if it had these features. Aside from that I’m still giving this 5 stars because even with the free version I am keeping tons of plant babies healthy for the first time ever!.Version: 2.1.6

Useful, but premium version is too expensiveI like the app, it serves occasional reminders to make sure that we’re not forgetting to water our plants. The premium version is just too expensive to consider upgrading. Once you’ve identified your plants (usually when buying) you don’t need the plant scanner - some competing apps offer this for free. Seems like a super steep cost for fertilising instructions. Just fertilise every 2nd or 3rd water in the spring/summer… you don’t really need an expensive subscription to tell you this..Version: 2.1.6

Needs a vacation algorithmI love this app! Been a paid subscriber for over 2 years now and I can 100% say there is no other app better than this for tracking your plants. That being said, with the number of plants I have it can get overwhelming sometimes when the daily tasks start to add up. I simply don’t have time to do all the tasks needed every single day. I’m hoping the developers could introduce an algorithm that could possibly consolidate a week’s tasks down to a few days, for example if I want to go on vacation for a long 4-day weekend, I could put this in and it will tell me what to do to prepare and what to do when I get back. Or if I don’t have daily time I can dedicate to plant care, I can configure settings to permanently consolidate my tasks down to a selection of days I choose, instead of every day. Then Planta could advise if this is enough days, or if I have plants that need daily care it could warn about that too. Seems like a good idea. Anyways, Planta is still the best! 5 stars!.Version: 3.8.3

Great and...Would love to see some improvements. I wish that you could back date tasks that were done (like maybe yesterday I thought I entered that I had fertilized a plant but I forgot to check it off as done and now the dates will be off). You can’t edit or change “completed tasks” and I have accidentally marked completed for a task I meant to skip or snooze. Also, I realized a plant was misidentified a few months after I added it but had to delete it and all its history to relist it with the correct identification (in order to get the correct water/fertilizing schedule). I’m not a huge fan of the Dr Planta, and find it easier to just Google a plant’s problem then enter the fix manually. Overall it’s a great app and I love that I can look back on a plant’s progress, and like the ability to adjust the watering schedule. I have the paid version and it’s worth it to me to get the prompts to fertilize. I do recommend this app and hope to see it improve too!.Version: 2.1.4

Very helpful, makes me feel confident to buy more plantsI had a few houseplants for awhile but could never remember to water them, and so I didn’t feel like a very good plant mom. I decided to try an app, and I’m happy I chose this one, and I’m happy to pay for the premium version. I find it super helpful with the daily reminders, and the ability to identify plants through the app. There are somethings I wish I could do through the app — I wish when you add a plant it would prompt you with questions about the current condition the plant is in, is the soil still moist when you bought it, are there new leaves that haven’t opened yet? Things like that that could help you notice the progress your new plant makes since bringing it home. I appreciate the Dr Planta feature but I wish they gave you the option of writing in what the issue is, instead of just giving you a couple of options to choose from. Also, I wish you could update a plant’s type after you have entered it as part of your inventory. I think I chose the wrong color variant on one of my plants, and I think I just have to delete it and enter it as the other one? Please tell me if there is a way to change this without deleting it and losing all of the data I had saved for it. Overall I’m very happy with this app, and I think the premium features are worth it for a newbie like me. I have learned a lot already and I’ve only had the app for a month. Thanks Planta!.Version: 2.2.2

Happy but hoping for a crucial improvementI am so grateful a coworker told me about Planta. It makes my life so much easier! They continue to update it as well with new improvements. I haven’t ran into any issues with identifying or finding a houseplant so their database of plants and plant knowledge must be extensive, even for rarer houseplants. The biggest complaint I have is the progress reminder update and water reminder update are the SAME look/color! This might not seem like a big deal but when you glance at 6 of your plants in a row all orange with a notification to water and there is one that follows that says progress but also looks the exact same my mind naturally sees this as another plant that needs to be watered. It does say Progress instead of Water but because the notification is the same look/color next to the plant on numerous occasions now I’ve accidentally overwatered my plants. This small error as killed a few of my plants. I doubt I am the only person who has done this. Please update this feature and make it so the Progress update does not look so similar to the Water update. It would make the app more useful and my plants happier!.Version: 1.9.8

♡︎I’m a very forgetful person especially when it comes to plants. planta always helps me remember when to water them, and i love the progress reports that help me keep track of how they’re doing 🪴.Version: 3.22.0

Largely good, but missing community and detailed user inputThis is a fab little app for searching for plants, categorising by room, keeping track of your plants even - but what I’m finding more and more often is that I’m snoozing / skipping until next time ahelluva lot because if I were follow’s Planta’s advice, they’d be drowning. I experimented with following Planta’s schedule and found root rot, mushy leaves and other issues. So I wonder if it could be made so that your schedule adapts to your patterns. Also what’s interesting is how this app uses a vast user base’s data but there’s no forum? Which really misses a trick here. There are countless sites out there where plant parents speak to each other. Why not capitalise on that. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Otherwise, this is such a great source of information for so many tidbits you may not have thought about. The photos it uses are pretty. Generally speaking this is a fab little app! Do recommend, but definitely don’t get stuck overwatering..Version: 1.9.3

Almost perfect, but needs one thingI love this app and use it regularly to keep track of all my houseplants. There is one thing I wish was more customizable. Please, for the love of all that is holy, let me choose my own number of days to snooze a task. It would be great if you could set the default snooze duration to anything you want. It would also be great to be able to change the snooze of a specific task at the time you hit the button to anything longer or shorter than the default, if desired. This is more of an issue with plants that require less frequent watering. For example, if I’m prompted to water my ZZ plant and I decide to snooze it because I know it won’t need watered for at least another week, I don’t want to have to hit snooze 3-4 times before it finally needs watered. But I also don’t want to completely skip that watering because it would skip all the way to the next scheduled watering (like 3-4 weeks away). If those features were added, this would be so much more useful!.Version: 3.9.2

Really great appThis app is indispensable if you have 50+ plants and can never keep track of what needs to be done when. Something that would make this five stars would be the ability to change the species of your plants without having to completely delete them and re-add them (while losing all their data along the way). I know there were a couple of plants I added months ago which I put down as the wrong species but I can't change them. Also it would be good to see the Latin plant names on the main plant tab rather than buried near the bottom of the info tab..Version: 2.0.3

ExcellentGreat.Version: 3.21.3

My plants LOVE Planta!!I absolutely love this app! It really helps me take better care of my 50+ plants. Before Planta, I was watering most of my plants on the same schedule and while they were still alive, they weren’t thriving. After using Planta for a couple of months, and each plant being on its own schedule, I have noticed a HUGE difference in my plants and how much healthier and happier they look. I am, however, not a fan of the newest update. Managing the daily tasks is confusing. When I checked this morning, before the new update was pushed to my phone, it said I only had 3 tasks but when I just checked it now, it says I have 35 but doesn’t give the snooze or complete option next to each plant (like it did before). Maybe I’m not looking at it right and it could be user error. I’m gonna have to reacquaint myself with the app to figure it out. But even with that update, I still recommend this app to all my plant friends. Definitely worth the price of the premium option!.Version: 2.3.1

Love it. Worth itIn lockdown I bought about 20 plants and I have a history of killing plants so I did a lot of reading online and also thought I’d try plant care apps - I’ve tried three and this is by far the best. If you only have a few plants the free version is fine but if you have loads the premium is definitely worth it, it tells you when to fertilise, mist, etc. And you get help with any problems with plants. Highly recommend.Version: 2.1.5

If only I’d found this app sooner!Really love this app and have been recommending it to every plant lover I know that is as hopeless as I am. If I’d have found this app sooner I would have been able to save a few plants that unfortunately fell victim to my apparent lack of green thumb! Thank you for allowing me to fill my life with more plants. This app is amazingly developed and even the free version goes above and beyond. Simple to navigate and filled with information! I have purchased the full version anyway because I know I’ll need it (and love it) but I do second the comments about potentially adding a free trial just to see how it works before..Version: 1.9.3

Good if you know what plants you haveThe overall performance of the app is rlly good however the only improvements I would add is better plant identifying (if you already know what plants you have you don’t need to worry about this) and how to restore damaged plants and identifying what’s wrong with them.Version: 2.4.1

Amazing appI have never been great at keeping plants alive but have just moved into a new house and all I want to do is fill it with plants! I only have about 15 so far of varying types and sizes but I they are all THRIVING. I have never in my life owned a plant that I could see visibly growing and getting bigger but in the 2 ish months I’ve had this app I can see noticeable differences in most of my plants even over a few days. My snake plant which has never changed in size in about 3 years is suddenly bursting out of its pot, Chinese money plant has doubled in size and my monstera has grown about 20cm! I am absolutely blown away. This app has given me much more confidence in looking after plants and much more appreciation for their life and how they’re contributing to our health and well-being. Highly recommended..Version: 2.4.0

Love itSo easy to use!.Version: 3.8.3

Rejuvenated my plantsI love my plants and sometimes I love them too much and I can end up overwatering them or with my busy schedule I often second guess myself thinking I hadn’t watered my plant to later find out I did leading it to develop root rot. This app is a game changer my plants have never looked happier thank you so much this really gave me a break from stressing about my plants. Your app is amazing :).Version: 3.32.0

Does the trick!Gives me a simple reminder to water my plants, I just have the free version and that’s perfect enough for me !.Version: 3.11.0

Hands down the best plant appI have around 40 houseplants and this has been a god send. I’ve tried over 20 apps, and this blows them all out the water. The plant recognition function is hands down the most impressive. It was even able to identify my dead African Marigolds from JUST the shriveled up stem. That’s a miracle and far better than others that were unable to detect even some basic, healthy plants. I love how it auto sets your watering schedule based on your location and environment (instead of manually having to add it). The only function I find lacking is the Doctor function. It is kind of basic and stops after a few prompts. If there was an option to take a picture of your sick plant and have the Doctor tell you what was wrong based on that, then this will make this app go above and beyond. For example, something that would identify pest types by a picture you take in the same way it detects the plant type….and have it able to detect what is wrong with the leaves or branches. It should be easy for the app to see that a succulent plant is over watered based on it being swollen and yellowish..Version: 2.3.0

Great appThink this is a great app, I’ve loved using it. I’ve been on the free version for a couple months and love it. I’m really considering buying a year subscription cause unlike everyone else on here it seems like, I think it’s definitely worth it. People also seemed ridiculously concerned with giving their email and location to the app however the email is just to have somewhere to save your plants to and the location is to help the app understand the climate you are living in to help you care for your plants more, not sure why everyone is so offended by it asking for these things, they make the app better. This app saves so much time for me, as I can now use it instead of trying to research every type of plant individually for their care. The customer service people seem very friendly and reasonable and the range of plants they have on the app is great and always getting bigger as they add more, they even said you can email them a plant they don’t have in order for them to add it if you are interested in a specific plant. The only thing I wish it had was a free trial of premium as I would love to see how it functions before committing for a whole year. As a whole though I love this app and I don’t know how I’d take care of all of my plants without it..Version: 1.5.3

Let me change plant site! This app is super helpful but I would love it if I could change the location of my plants without having to delete and re add them :).Version: 2.6.4

Very helpful app but some suggestions…🪴🪴🪴🪴Edit: I noticed that you added the slow release fertilizer sticks as an option but you cannot change this for an existing plant. 😔 I have 120+ plants and would prefer to use those types of fertilizers but don’t want to have to delete all my plants and add them back and lose all my progress. Can you please push another update that allows you to modify your current fertilizer preferences? ⭐️ 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟 I have been using Planta for several months now and use it daily. I am a premium subscriber and while I do love the app I have some suggestions: it doesn’t seem to update watering schedule based on the amount of times you snooze the action. I live in rural VA and in the spring my houseplants don’t seem to need to be watered as often as the app suggests based on pot type and location. I would have thought the app would develop an algorithm over time but it doesn’t seem it has. Another helpful thing would be for you to be able to take a picture of a plant problem and submit it for review. I have had some issues with my plants that I am not positive are the issues outlined in Dr. Planta so I am not confident I am always treating the condition effectively. I wish that feature was more robust. I would also like to have the option to add light sources that are grow lights as I grow a lot of mine under lights. Overall, I love the app and will likely subscribe for another yearly subscription next year too. 🙂.Version: 2.2.1

Value for moneyThis app has quickly become indispensable. I have around 50 plants and Planta is probably saving me money each month in plants which otherwise would have died. Healthy plants can be expensive, and the wrong care can be deadly, so my subscription to Planta is definitely saving me from costly mistakes. I had no idea I should be misting my silver nerve plant, or that actually my living room isn’t too dark as I suspected, and that putting all plants in full light isn’t going to be good for many of them! The plant doctor section is great, but needs expanding to more options, and more outdoor options too, but I’m sure these things will come. Creators of Planta, I thank you, my husband thanks you and my polka dot begonia thanks you!.Version: 2.2.2

Exactly what I was looking forSuper easy to use, useful tips and really helpful info and reminders for keeping on top of plant care. The new update is great as I have plants both inside and outside on my balcony! I have a lot of herbs which weren’t in the original version’s plant list and emailed about whether the app team could add them to the plant list and I received a really personal reply and follow up email a few months later letting me know that they added the update which was so refreshing as everything seems so impersonal these days, thank you so much! Excited to follow what you do in the future :).Version: 1.5.0

Great for forgetful/ time blind plant loversBefore Planta I would be very on/ off with my plant care, sometimes being very motivated and on it, and other times going weeks without watering any of my plants. I had also never delved into any further care, like fertilising or repotting. Finding Planta has made such a big difference and I’m now a Premium subscriber! I do agree with other reviews that Planta tends to veer on the side of overwatering - however you should be checking to make sure your soil is dry enough before watering anyway (as it says in the app)..Version: 1.9.9

Ive had a premium account for like 10 minutes and it’s already blowing my mindObsessed.Version: 2.5.2

Please Add Widget CapabilityThis is a very good looking app with great features (it even lets you add a schedule for misting!) but the one thing it lacks and that I need is a Home Screen widget. My ADHD brain needs that visual reminder every time I look at my phone. Notifications or other urgent reminders just stress me out or annoy me but a widget helps me, I get to be reminded gently (but still be reminded). The Picture This app has a great widget (if the developers read this and would like some inspo ☺️). I’ll be staying with my other app for now but if this feature ever gets added on, I’ll be back and I’ll even buy the Premium subscription. 🌿❤️.Version: 3.22.0

Fantastic!Absolutely great app! Gives watering recommendations depending on your location, the light in the room and time of year. You can add notes, pictures and log your plants health as you go too, while the paid version offers even more reminders for things such as misting and fertilising. One thing I would love to see is the ability to change a plants type without deleting and restarting the data. Plants can often come completely mislabelled and it’s quite frustrating when a few months down the line you realise you have something different to what you initially thought and can’t change the plant type to ensure the plants getting the correct care recommendations, while still keeping a log of images, waterings and previous notes..Version: 2.1.2

Love Planta, but wish it had an option for grow lampsThis app is great, I love the fact that the company still adds new features :) I pay for the yearly subscription, and it’s a great purchase. I just wish that the Dr. Planta showed more pictures of problems with cacti/succulent plants, instead of just leafy houseplants, and also that we have an option for ‘under a grow light’, since so many plants have the ‘not enough light’ issue, but are under grow lamps. :(.Version: 2.6.2

Great!I love this app it has really helped me with my watering schedule. My plants are definitely happier since I installed it. I have a lot of plants and just couldn’t remember when I last watered them. I use the free version and am very happy that I found this app. I would say you need to take some of the advice with a pinch of salt. I have lost a few plants from over watering..just research your plants don’t expect this app to give you all the vital information as it won’t. That said it’s been a a great aid in helping me track what plants I have and when I last watered them..Version: 2.3.0

Absolutely great app!I started my plant collection a few months ago using a different app which did not allow me to use most of their features without buying premium, so I stopped using it and started using this app! It helps me so much to keep track on watering and my plants’ needs! You can have as many plants as you want logged on Planta, it helps me keep my big family of plants in shape.(and growing my Collection too)100% recommend..Version: 2.5.2

Love itI love this app, I love plants and have so many that sometimes it’s difficult to keep on top of their watering schedules. I’d love to buy a subscription but as a student money is quite tight currently but a subscription is definitely worth the price and I will definitely buy one in the future. One feature I would like to see is the ability to add people to households. I intend to go to university soon and I have my home plants on my phone which I won’t be able to water when I’m away. I’d love if I could add my mum to my household on the app so she can water the plants and tick them off. Again, great app, very helpful, the best one I’ve come across..Version: 3.17.1

Useful and easy to useI really like this app, the premium subscription seems useful but it’s very useable without it, as well. It’s an excellent way to track my plants’ health and growth and if you forget to water it’s great with notifications and such. My only issue is the duplication in my “favourites” list. I’ll come across a plant on explore that is super cool, I’ll heart it, and then realize I already hearted an identical but different version of the same plant. Probably half the plants in my favourites are duplicated, and many of them are tripled! I have FIVE different neon pothos listings that are identical, and can’t be removed. It makes the list very crowded and hard to use. Other than that, the app is 5 stars no question. One of the most useful free apps I’ve used.Version: 3.20.0

Love love loveThis is such an amazing app! Really clean, beautiful to use, and great advice. I much prefer it to another plant app I've been using. Planta is super intuitive and user-friendly: I went for the premium version as. Some suggestions I have are: - make it possible to change the last time a plant was watered when you add it (I've been adding lots of plants in one go and will have to snooze watering multiple times). also, maybe retrospective watering schedule so that when you first download - add a sort of social or blog tab, or change 'discover' into one: not sure how this would work but I love spending time on this app and would be happy to read more plant-related material! currently not finding 'discover' the most useful tab. - calendar option in 'plant care', to plan ahead for fertiliser and repotting etc These are pretty superficial, though, and otherwise Planta is the perfect app. :).Version: 1.9.9

OH YAAAHIt’s really good and really healthy my plants r already making lots of progress in their health and growth.Version: 3.1.7

Gets The Job Done GreatThis is perfect for what I wanted- reminders to water the plants and info on how to care for them. I have just a couple things that could be better. First, if the free version had just a bit more than watering- at least the plant doctor, maybe- that’s be fantastic. I only have the free version, and I have wished several times for the plant doctor, but not often enough to buy a membership. Maybe a limited use- you get to use the plant doctor twice a month or something. That’d be totally awesome, and I’d honestly give the app a 5 star rating if it did that. But, I get that the app people have to make money somehow. Second, it would be nice if you could customize the sites a tad more- particularly the temperature. I would like to have a site for my greenhouse. And a brief description of the difference between each site- bedroom and kitchen and all- would be nice, if there even is a difference. Finally, if this app could be expanded to outdoor gardening I would instantly rate 5 stars and probably recommend to everyone. I imagine that’d take awhile to design though. Maybe make a sister app? Anyway, there are several things that could make this app fantastic, but it is already very good. I like it very much, and will continue to use it..Version: 2.3.0

Good but could be betterI do like the app and I’ve been using it for a good 6 months. However I’ve seen that other plant apps allow you to take a photo of a trouble area of your plant and it will advise you what to do to rectify the issue. Unless I’ve missed it, this app cannot do this. I have a few issues but always need to Google them. I once got a chat box / help function up to fix an issue with a plant but it did not work correctly / it didn’t identify the issue properly. I think the photo doctor addition would make this app really great. Also I agree with the other people on here when they say once you snooze all seems to go out of sync, and it feels like I’m watering too much. Not sure if this is a glitch or me doing something incorrect! It’s good but could be even better!.Version: 2.7.2

Needs “similar plant”Need to have a similar plant option. Finding it frustrating scrolling for days and not being able to find what I have, because it was a cute unlabelled plant at a small plant dtore.Version: 2.5.0

Love this app!I was very hesitant to pay $36 to get the premium membership in the first place, but now looking back it’s definitely worth it. I don’t have a lot of luck in keeping plants green. I managed to kill a long list of plants including the easy ones like pathos and succulents. I bought a fiddle leaf fig last December and I wanted it to stay alive badly, so I got the membership to give it a shot. It worked :) I found the spot with the perfect lighting for my plant baby and have been watering/fertilizing it according to the schedule given by Planta. It has been 6 months, my fiddle leaf fig is thriving and a few inches taller. Using Planta also makes me realize that just like animals, plants need constant care. They are not going to do well if you don’t have the time and dedication. I’m moving into a new apartment with a south-facing patio and I plan to grow a herb garden there (with the help from Planta). I owe my green thumb to this app :))).Version: 2.2.2

LOVE THIS APPI have tried a few different apps to help me keep up with my plants and this one has been the best one so far. I like that the premium subscription is not too expensive and lasts a year. The app is so user friendly and looks cute throughout. They have made a lot of changes to the app to make everything more accurate for plant parents. I really appreciate all of the effort that developers have put into this app so far. They recently updated identifying plants that are sick and it is so much nicer now. I highly recommend this app over any other plant app because the developers really seem to care about a proper, functioning, plant care app. I can’t wait to see what they have planned for the future. Developers, you will have a loyal follower for life and I have suggested this app to many friends and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work because this is so helpful to so many people!.Version: 2.8.0

Good app but could improveI love this app, it has a plethora of plants, it identifies them from photos incredibly well, it reminds me to water, fertilise, mist and what have you. It’s an amazing app, would definitely recommend!! A few improvements I’d like to have: Update plant as propagated - I had to do this to a couple of my plants and I made notes but there’s no option to say that it’s not in a pot, it’s in the propagation station. Definitely need more information on plant health diagnosis, I’m sure this Will come with time however :) When using dr planta it’s actually quite annoying that there’s an introduction every time. Could definitely be improved but again I think a big part of this is using data. It would be great if app users could add their own diagnosis and experience, which could then be added to the database maybe. Would love to have a forum! Where people can ask questions and share experiences. Of course no bullying or hate, just sharing plant care and love. Tbh I’d also love to share some plants here free of charge, as I have lots of the same ones as I propagate and I don’t really care for selling them, I’d much rather just give it away to people who want it. Thanks!!!.Version: 1.9.3

Free version is great!I got this thinking I wouldn’t get a lot out of the free version. I was wrong. I didn’t realise I was watering so many of my plants too often or too little but the reminders of when to water each plant has helped me so much with my houseplants. They are all so much healthier since I started using the app and keeping up with the watering schedule. Not all houseplants need watering at the same time and if you’re like me and have a house full then it can be hard to keep track of what has and hasn’t been watered lately but this app does it all. I wish I had the budget to get the paid for version but the free one is doing fine for now!.Version: 3.4.0

The plants are grateful and still aliveI just got this app yesterday and it’s already saved 2 of my plants from certain death..Version: 3.26.2

Great app - needs more detailsSo I’ve been using the free version of this app for a few months and I wanted to try out the premium version so I know when to fertilize and all. I’m glad it tells you when to fertilize, but every plant says “all purpose fertilizer” which honestly if you use that on all of your plants you will burn some roots and kill them. Some house plants need a specific fertilizer. And it’d be cool if there were some natural alternatives in there as well, like banana peel water. Also, add what kind of soil you should use! There should totally be a big soil section, but not one that just says “all purpose potting soil” like, definitely have someone who knows what they’re doing tell you what different mediums to mix for this certain plant. (Coco coir, peat moss, perlite etc.) If you added these small details I’m sure you’d have much more business. The right soil and fertilizer is so important for growth. One more thing, do some quick research on each of your plants to make sure Planta is giving you the right info. I’ve been barely watering my rubber trees and letting them dry out because that’s what planta said, but I just did some research and saw that they need to stay moist during the summer 🤦🏻‍♀️ sooooo, that’s why two of my rubber trees are drooping and dropping leaves. Overall, I’m super grateful for this app because I could never keep up with my 47 plants without it, but definitely could use some more details!.Version: 1.8.7

Great app with great featuresJust takes the thought out of trying to keep my 25 plants alive. Love the ability to group plants in rooms. Unsure about the light monitor though, apparently everywhere not in the windowsill is too dark for my plants but they can’t cope with the extreme temperatures on the sills and are doing well in the ‘dark’ I guess use this as a guide. I’d give 5 stars if it wasn’t for the fact I seem to constantly have 3 phantom notifications I can’t seem to clear, even when all tasks are complete..Version: 3.8.2

BienApp très utile mais un peu déçu de ne pas avoir accès au Dr Planta juste parce que je ne suis pas en anglais alors que j’ai la version premium. Ce n’était pas dit à l’achat..Version: 3.21.3

Indispensable app for tracking my 50+ houseplantsEven though I use a moisture meter and always check the soil beforehand, having a watering schedule to remind me has been so helpful. Having 50+ houseplants also means that being able to quickly take pictures, make notes, and have the names and info there for reference is super helpful. One thing I would love to see is some way for the app to learn that some of my plants don’t conform to the standard watering schedule. For example, because humidity and light matters so much (and can be very different from the outdoors and even in the same room), if I’m consistently snoozing for a certain plant, I’d want the app to learn and space out the reminders more. Or if machine learning is too difficult, it’d be nice to have an option where you could indicate that you prefer to err on the side of *underwatering* and the app would add a slight delay/buffer to the watering reminders..Version: 2.5.2

Lots of new green leaves + flower buds.Lots of green leaves + flower buds..Version: 3.8.4

HoyaI moved the Hoya plant into the bathroom with south facing window. But I have it in a metal container could this be the issue?.Version: 3.27.1

Great app, missing a few featuresI really love this app for keeping track of my houseplants & have found it to have the largest database of plants out of all the plant tracking apps on AppStore. It’s easy to add your plants and I like that it has plenty of plant card info. There are a few things I feel it is missing however. It would be great to be able to add how old the plant is that you’re adding (I have quite a few that are freshly planted from propagation). But the main thing that I really really wish this app had is the option to add nicknames for your plants. I have 20+ plants and they’re all named but sometimes I lose track so would be really great if I could add them into Planta also..Version: 1.9.3

Good until you update your phoneI loved this app, enjoyed using it for just under a year. Now I have come to upgrade my phone. I logged out of the app on previous phone and tried to log in on my new one; which there was no login option, only sign up. But couldn’t due to a error message, email used already. I managed to log back in on my old phone to find it’s wiped it of all my plants. So I am now stuck as I would like to log back in and start the whole process of adding over 50 plants but i can’t even log it or create a account..Version: 1.9.7

Great reminderI’ve been using the free version of this app for a while, & I like it, a lot. Considered subscribing but due to the way other costs are rising, at 32 quid, this isn’t a priority, also think it’s a tad steep too, so it’s the free version for me, just wish there were a few more options available on the free version. Others have noted that although they’ve watered their plants, it reminds them to do the same task the next day… I have experienced this too, could it be that we’ve just got drink happy plants???🤔.Version: 3.7.0

Some bugs that need fixingOverall, I think this app is great! I paid for the annual subscription. As a plant novice, the watering/fertilizing/misting schedule has, if anything, helped me to become more familiar with my plants. There a few things I think could use some improvement. -Sometimes, based on the “info” portion for each plant, the app will say for example “water every 6th day in September”. However I would notice that I wouldn’t get a notification to water that plant even after 6 days have passed -fertilizing/watering schedule. The app will notify you when it’s time to fertilize your plant, which must be done with a watering. However, once you have performed and checked off the task for fertilizing, you then have to add an extra task that you’ve watered the plant. If not, the app will think that perhaps you haven’t watered since the last check-off, and will then remind to water at a sooner than necessary date, which may lead to overwatering. So typically, whenever there is a reminder to fertilize and no reminder on the same day to water, I’ll have to go to the plant profile and determine if I should snooze the fertilize task, or both water and fertilize that day. Or perhaps the main issue is that the app will remind to fertilize when it’s not even time for a watering. It can get confusing, but I’ve found my way around it..Version: 1.9.2

The perfect plant appI recently got into plants, and my collection quickly became too large to manage. This app is a godsend, and so easy to use! You set up rooms in your house, with environmental conditions (light, humidity, etc.), and add your plants (including how they’re potted). It automatically tells you if that room is not a good fit for the plant. A maintenance schedule is created, to remind you to water, mist, repot, etc. The app also comes with an identification tool, that tells you the name of a plant based off of a picture you take, and a light meter, in case you’re not sure on the light conditions in a room. There’s tons of other great features (too many to list), like customizable care schedule, and the ability to request a plant be added to their data base in case one of your plants isn’t already listed. For $3/month, it’s totally worth it! The only thing I wish it included was an option to choose the type of soil your plants are in. This affects your watering schedule, but this isn’t taken into account..Version: 1.9.3

Poor identificationI looked at a few apps and chose this one, however, although having paid for the full year, I’ll not be using it. It could barely identify any plants correctly, giving you a choice of many possibilities - meaning I had to go to books and search online for the correct identification. Also no option to look at vegetables in the garden. Disappointing and a waste of money..Version: 3.8.5

Fantastic but could you add the option for no pots. This app is brilliant. I have been trying to grow a plant for a school project and this app has helped me a lot. But could there be a option for if you don’t have a pot for your flower. It comes up with a massive selection of pots you can choose from but I am planting my flower in my garden into the ground so no pots are needed. But again, I would 100% recommend this app to anyone. It doesn’t matter if you are a pro or not. Thanks for the amazing App😀.Version: 3.1.8

GreatIt’s helpful to remind me about all my plants, however it keeps crashing after the update..Version: 2.5.1

MemoryGlad I have this because our daughter used to take care of all of our house plants but is now living in her own place so this app keeps me on track Anne-Marie Grange Port Dover Ontario Canada.Version: 3.8.5

Plant ownership made simpleGoogle searching no more! Research? Not needed! One stop all you need in this app. My favourite part is that it’ll let you know if the spot you pick is enough light for the plant you have. Taking out the guessing work.Version: 3.30.1

Great way to keep track of my collectionI’ve been looking for an app to track my houseplants as well as the basics about watering and fertilizing. I love that the app includes basic information about the needs of each plant and lets you make notes and add new photos. The price for a premium subscription is steep and honestly not sure if I’ll be able to justify it in the long term, but I’ll see what I think after a couple months. I’ve also come across several plants in my collection that are not on the app. I wish there was at least an option to add plants to my own collection that aren’t recognized by the app because now I will have to keep track of those plants separately. Edited: You can submit a plant and they will review it to add to the app. Still think the subscription price is steep, but I like the format for tracking my plants and the care I’ve provided..Version: 1.8.1

This is my second review, and…This app is great! This is my second review, I’ve run into a couple problems, but nothing too big. First- I think Dr Planta should be open to everyone. Because if you are getting Planta, there is a good chance it’s because your plants are sick or dying. Second- my succulents are sharing pots with others. For example, a have a two inch succulent in a 8 inch pot ( from side to side over the top ) sharing with other plants. However, the app does not know it is sharing its pot, and it may be giving me false information. Me and my succulents are doing good, but this may be a problem in the future. Third- this is just for succulents, but whenever you take a leaf off of a thick-leaved succulent, you can put in in sun and a new plant will grow from the leaf. This is called propagation, and this should be an option to grow your plants in the app. Like, say, and option to watch over your propagation plants, care, facts, and more. It’s just for succulents of course, though. Otherwise, the app is amazing, and you did an amazing job!! I’m usually really critical on plant apps ( I just love my succulents ) so just want you guys to know you did an amazing job!!!!!.Version: 3.1.2

Love the app but have a few suggestionsI love the Planta app. It not only helps me keep a solid schedule with my plants, but also helps anyone I have watching them while I’m away on business or vacation. I will say, I wish there were more options as far as water propagation goes, because I haven’t found any yet but have quite a few plants on that state. Obviously those don’t need a watering schedule, but it would be helpful to know when to change the water and get suggestions on good times to transfer them to soil. I also think it would beneficial to select which window each plant is in. For example, there are several rooms in my house that have an east and a south facing window, and different plants in each. Instead of just choosing a partly sunny room, I think it’s be helpful to know which window they’re actually in. I also think different light options would be helpful, as several of my plants have plant lights as their main source. Just a few thoughts, but overall I really enjoy it. Thanks!!.Version: 2.6.4

Good but could be improvedThis app has improved the health of many of my plants! It’s important to remember to check the soil moisture of plants before you water them, but if you do that it’s great. The frustration comes from watering lots of plants - I have a huge amount, and will turn off my phone screen while watering them. When I turn it back on, it has returned to the Home Screen and it takes me several clicks to get back to the screen it was on when I turned the screen off. I also wish the watering/health check times were synced up - I would only check on the health of a plant if I was watering it, as this makes more sense. However, the app asks you to check the health every month regardless of the days it’s being watered. One last thing - is it possible to change the temperatures? I live in Scotland and it is much colder and more humid here in winter than the app says, which changes plant recommendations and health..Version: 2.2.2

Needs parameters for Southern HemispherePlease update pruning schedule etc. to suit plants located in Southern Hemisphere. Other than that this is an amazing app..Version: 2.7.1

Great appA great app with just enough info for the free version. I haven’t tried the premium as it seems a little expensive to me considering the free info available online, but I am sure it is great. The free info is substantial and all my plants have been very happy and thriving since I begun using it. One additional feature I hope planta will include is a “optimised watering” feature. Where instead of all my plants falling out of sync, requiring me to water different ones daily, that instead they will shift a few forward or back by a day or two so I can get by watering a few days a week instead of every day for different ones. Though I doubt this will be a free feature 🥲.Version: 3.4.0

Good app, but could use some changes.Great concept, and really cool for the plants it has support for. However, there are a lot of plants (especially California native plants!) that don’t have any support. There should be an option to add your own plants in and put in the associated watering schedule, much like the current “custom care” setting. That way, people who know their plants can still have the benefits of having all their plant lists in one place. Also, it is odd to me that the scientific names of the plants are so hidden. Most serious plant growers are familiar with scientific names more so than common names, and it’s a little frustrating when search results come in sorted by common name with only the genus visible (sometime). When i tried to find a plant that the app did not support i tried to search the genus but the results were muddled by the common names. So in summary: this app would be even better if users can add their own plants in (possibly contributing to plantas database of plant knowledge; making it easier on devs to add new plant support), and if common names were less emphasized than scientific names. Update: thanks for the response! Changed my rating to 5 stars..Version: 1.8.3

Life Saver (Literally)I’ve always been told I have a “black thumb” though honestly, I feel like that’s an exaggeration. I love plants, I’m absolutely obsessed with them, and this app helps me feel like I can speak their language. Every plant has its own needs so I feel like a green thumb really boils down to doing your research and knowing your plant. But instead of having to retain all that knowledge in my head, this app stores it for me. It gives me tips, and tells me when to water, repot, mist, fertilize, all tailored to the plants that I have in my home, and the location of them. I’ve only been using this app for a short while but I thought I was killing my lavender because I read online that they basically hate water. The app told me to water it and it literally perked back up the next day! I’m starting to understand what my plants need a bit more now and better care for them and it’s all thanks to this app!.Version: 2.8.0

Keeping my many plants alive!Despite my brown thumb Planta has kept my plants thriving. Developer is super quick to respond to questions about the app. Happy with my subscription 😊🌱.Version: 3.13.0

Prettiest plants I’ve ever hadThis app has helped me manage over 100 plants in my home and they are gorgeous! The trick is monitoring moisture yourself and using the advice given and the two-day pause and skip buttons. Don’t water just because the app says so. You still need to make sure you don’t over water. The app tries to judge when it’s time to water based on the criteria you enter for each plant, but you still need to check the plants before you water, as recommended in the app. Planta never lets me forget to feed a plant. It also prevents me from over feeding. I don’t know what I’d do without it. My plants are so much more beautiful since I started using the app a year ago. There is no comparison. And I love the monthly progress feature. It’s fun to look at the monthly photos of your plants and see how much they’ve grown over a growing season. That’s actually one of my favorite features..Version: 3.23.0

A real game changer!Like the title says, this app has changed my life! I am no longer forgetting to water my plants, nor am I playing the ‘when to water’ guessing game. Since discovering Planta, the few plants I had, have gone from looking a little droopy & sad to looking perky & happy, AND I’ve actually gained some much-needed confidence to get a couple more plants. I’ve always wanted my home to be full of plants, but I shied away from them because I knew bringing anything new home was basically a death sentence, not to mention a real waste of money. Now my plants are finally thriving and I look forward to adding a few more. I’ve even made a list of plants that I want, and I’m looking forward to being able to get out to a specialty plant shop or two after things return back to normal. Currently, I have only been using the basic plan as the premium subscription plan is rather costly. Money is tight right now due to Covid, so I can’t justify paying for a year’s worth of premium all at once, and the monthly rate is simply way too steep to maintain regularly. I keep hoping the devs will offer a ‘Covid sale’ that gives us the option to pay the yearly rate monthly, or offer the yearly rate at a reduced cost, like a lot of other apps have been doing. I’d jump at the opportunity if that were to happen! Premium may be an option for me someday down the road, but as it stands now, I’ll continue to enjoy & care for my plants using the free features..Version: 2.0.3

SuggestionSuper great app, although there’s one thing missing. There’s no way to add the size of your plant. Obviously bigger plants will need more water and smaller ones will need less, meaning the small ones won’t need to be watered as often. But because the app doesn’t know this, it tells you to water the plants every few days and you end up overwatering them. I really wish you could put the size of your plant, even just something simple like Small Medium Large and Extra Large..Version: 2.4.0

Not as good as it wasAfter using this app for several months, my opinion of it has fallen significantly. It started out great, but this last update just it not for me. The “beta” version of the app that helps you identify problems you may be having with your plants is absolutely terrible because if you do not already know what the problem is then you’re clueless on how to proceed with the questions it asks. The previous method was to show pictures and ask you to identify what was closest to your issue and it was super easy and step by step. Furthermore, the app has slowed so much that I no longer have the patience for it. When you tap on the icon to complete a task, such as watering, it takes at least 45 seconds of spinning wheel to update. Then it will auto refresh to the top of your list, causing you to have to scroll all the way back down to where you where. Based on these minor annoyances and the fact that I was unable to contact support through their channels, I am leaving my review here and canceling my subscription..Version: 3.0

Awesome app for setting your plant care routineThis app was a great way to get myself on a care schedule that benefited my plants. I’ve seen some wonderful growth throughout the winter time when I would normally let my plants be dormant. A couple improvements I would love to see: - A calendar view of a plant’s documented care as well as future care. I’d love to be able to see how my plants’ needs change throughout the year, and if my plants’ actual needs differ than Planta’s suggested schedule. - A “self-learning” plant care schedule. It would be very helpful (especially for premium members) to have the app adjust care schedule for plants when consistent documentation shows the needs a different than suggested care. I live in the desert so many of my plants need to be watered more frequently than suggested. Having 50+ plants makes it very daunting to try and customize every plants schedule. - Combination Plants. I have a few open terrariums and combo pots with multiple plants that I’d like to add to the app. I’d love to be able to add each plant into a pot together and have the app figure a schedule based on the plants combined preferences. So rather than Planta telling you to water Plants A and D, it would have you water Combo A-D. if one of the plants is not good in the mix a notification could come up. All in all the plant is great for basic care, maybe I was just expecting more features after purchasing the premium package..Version: 2.7.7

Favorite plant app but still missing one thing IMOI’ve been using this app for years and it’s always been very user friendly and intuitive! I love all the updates that have been added over the years but there’s just one big thing I feel is still missing. A lot of people, myself included, use grow lights to supplement natural light or as their primary light source in certain rooms or plant cabinets for example, so it would be so helpful if there were some options for that in the light settings. Like if you could set how much natural vs artificial light certain sites get per day or if they’re only getting artificial light or natural light etc. that would be perfect. Hoping this update is already in the works but thought it was worth mentioning! My plants and I thank you for an awesome app! EDIT: To Developer, thanks for the response but that answer was not really even related to my suggestion lol.Version: 3.9.4

Best app out of all the otherI was struggling to find an app I kept deleting some because they never notify in time, they never recognized my plant, or their plant spectrum was not broad enough. I really like this app it gives you information about your plant that I never knew. I hesitated on getting the subscription but I’m glad I made the decision on buying it. The plant doctor is so helpful it tells what I’m doing wrong when I didn’t realize that I was doing harm to the plants. I love the schedule misting option cause most of my plants need that and I forget to do that when I live in a dry area. The only reason why I didn’t give it all 5 stars because it has some flaws I hope they can fix. For example live in Los Angeles and the app says the weather here is 70 degrees which in reality it’s either 80 or 90 😣 so I don’t know if that will affect my plants watering at night since it tells me to water them longer than I usually do. Talking about the watering schedule I wish it has a schedule of setting a LOUD alarm at a specific time because I am a college student the only time I can care for my plant is between 10-11 o’clock am and I know I can’t water them later because of my assignments; another thing is when I water them at night, I learned the hard way, my plants are more prone to pests and bacteria. If anyone is reading this help to get the developers attention to fix this app I really like it..Version: 1.9.3

An excellent little app for plant loversI started out with just a couple of plants and was looking for something to help remind me to water them. Planta fit perfectly, adapting the water schedule to suit my location and I started out with the free version but have now upgraded to the premium. If you just want something to stop you killing your plants, Planta for free will be your best friend and if you do decide to go the extra mile for premium then I would fully recommend it. The information available, the care schedules, it’s turned my 3 plant collection into a mini jungle and I can actually properly care for them now. You don’t just get told what to do, you can learn exactly WHY you’re doing it and how you can help even more!.Version: 3.13.0

I love itI love this app and tell all my plant loving friends about it. I do wish there was a Gift or Sell/Sold option. I gift my plant babies to everyone I meet. Lol. 68 plants and counting. Updated on Oct 31/22 I don’t like that the app doesn’t adjust to climate change like fall and winter. It still sends me reminders to water and fertilize my outdoor plants. I either have to shut off the reminders for those plants or mark them as skipped to the next water. :(.Version: 3.17.0

Great app!I never usually leave reviews of any kind but this app is amazing and keeps all my plants nicely documented and gives unique watering schedules for the different plants depending on their needs- all of my plants are now thriving and doing really well! I believe the premium version adds other features such as identifying plants by scanning and other schedules like fertilising, but with the free you can access more than enough features and it’s really interesting to find out about the different species of plants and their needs (at least to me). Highly recommended :).Version: 2.1.6

Amazing app! Want more social optionsI love planta so much and it has been great for me as i’ve gotten deeper into the rabbit hole of plant ownership! super convenient for both me and to give to people plant sitting for me to give them a guideline of when to water One thing I think would be fun to add is more of a social side to the app? many of my friends are also into plants and i think it would be cool to be able to browse their collections or to be able to send each other planta you think the other person would like! also to be able to transfer plants between accounts if you give a plant to a friend and then you can watch it’s progress on your friends page instead of just completely deleting it from your library. ooh or a little “cutting/propagates family tree” from the og plant to all of the new babies. I realize adding social is probably a huge endeavor so i don’t see it happening soon but just thought it could be a cool direction for the app to go eventually!.Version: 3.8.3

A bit buggyI really like the app, it’s like a plant notebook, which is super useful. However I found it to be a bit buggy: when I complete watering tasks, it shows as nothing pending for that day, but then the next day it shows I am late by 1 day to water my plants and then I press on that I watered, and all disappears and then the next day the same thing happens, now showing I am 2 days late to water my plants. Also, the watering schedule is off, it shows to water my plants way too often - none of my plants have proper drainage, so it is enough to water them 1-2 weeks apart, rather how sometimes it shows every 3-4 days. So I am using the app more like a notebook and looking up info about the plants and updating health rather than following watering schedule..Version: 3.6.0

Great AppI have the full version of this app and so far so good, all my plants are looking great. Think I killed my plants with kindness before this app with overwatering etc. There is one addition I would like to add to this app would be a weather integration. I guess this may be an impossible ask as even the weather forecast is often wrong but would save snoozing watering outdoor plants. On the flip side having some very hot days and querying if extra watering would be required..Version: 2.3.0

So worth itI bought a subscription and it’s been great. Big fan, great way to manage lots of plants.Version: 3.8.4

Helping me to be a better plant Mum!I’ve been using this app for a few months now and it’s such a handy tool for reminding me to water my plants. I have a terrible memory so I’ve never been able to keep plants that don’t show signs of needing water, (eg peace lilies will wilt to remind me to water them) and so I have killed many plants over the years - even succulents! Since using this app I’ve felt much more confident that I can be a good Plant Mum and I’ve been able to more than doubled my plant collection. You must always check the soil before watering because it’s not 100% accurate all of the time, but if the soil is still moist then there is a snooze option which will remind you again in a couple of days. I especially love that the app gives you the option of selecting the pot size, plant size, distance from window, whether it’s been repotted etc as all of these will factor towards how often you need to water. I absolutely love this app, and would be lost without it!.Version: 2.7.1

Handy when you have a lot of plants!I love this app as a way of keeping track of all your plants. For most plants the watering reminders are about right but for some of them it does lead to overwatering so I take it with a pinch of salt. Generally though, I like the info provided by the app and it’s easy to use. In terms of improvements, I would love if the plant progress report reminders were kept on a separate screen to the watering reminders as it’s a pain to sift through when you have a lot of plants. And - as a previous reviewer said - it would also be great to have a free trial of premium for a week or so just to look at what is offered. I’ve not upgraded yet as I’m not sure whether it would help me or not. It would also be handy to be able to change the type of plant without having to delete everything and start again when you realise you have misidentified a plant. It would also be great to have a plant wish list option!.Version: 2.4.0

A great app to keep my plants alive but I don’t like why do you have to payIt’s a great app to keep my plants alive and tell me what I need to water but I can’t get the other things because they’re really expensive and I can’t get the premiums because they’re too expensive and I really need I really want them to be free so you could have all of them in the base of the app do you have the trimming fertilising moisting.Version: 3.16.0

Love it but does not adjust for Southern HemisphereI love this app and my houseplants are looking great after using it for a month. I even signed up to the paid version. My one complaint is that it does nothing adjust for the fact that I live in Sydney Australia. It knows the weather (and warns me when it is going to be hot) but pruning schedules are all off (governed by northern hemisphere seasons) and I can see that it is advising the wrong months for indoor plants to move out and vice versa. This one fix would make this app amazing..Version: 2.5.2

Love planta but don’t like new look and feelThe “new update” makes the app lol and work like and “old app” th look makes it seem outdated and it’s a less friendly to use now (imo) compared to the old look and feel. Though it seems some bugs have improved.Version: 3.15.0

No option for sowing directly to soilI sow some of my vegetables to the big garden bed and there're only option for pots??.Version: 3.31.0

Great app, needs minor improvementsEdit: Thank you for pointing out these features! I have one suggestion for future updates: please add a basic chart for how much to water based on pot size. That would be helpful to avoid under or over watering. Useful for keeping track of watering/fertilizing houseplants under ideal circumstances, but isn’t easy to adjust schedules when conditions are less than ideal. We’ve had unseasonably high temperatures which meant many of my plants, especially the ones in direct sun, needed more water, more often. I wanted to add an unscheduled watering for a few of plants but there is no way to do that without putting each of them on a fully customized permanent schedule. There should be an option to document that a plant was watered outside of the day recommended by the app. Also, the location feature is not very helpful. I get warnings from the app that a specific room is not appropriate, but the light meter readings any room will vary dramatically if you move a few inches up or down, or to the left or right. But the location is saved with only one set recommendation for the whole space. Not very helpful..Version: 2.3.4

YesI killed every single plant i’ve ever owned before this app, even my cacti. i’m truly obsessed and every day i can’t wait to water my plants and do all of the other tasks. my collection of plants has been growing massively and that’s possible because their care seems like such a simple task due to the format and organized nature of the app. it’s such a good place to discover new plants as well, as some of the features make it easy to decide the best plants for you based off of the rooms you have, light, time, skill level, etc. i also highly recommend purchasing premium. this is the only app that i have ever done that for and probably ever will and i have no regrets. it’s fairly priced when you buy it in a bundle for the year or a few months and it has so much more information and many special features when you do so. really good information on the app as well and you can change the schedules for watering and other things based off of what you observe on your own plants and it tells you how to do that and make those decisions. my plants really have never looked better and i have learned so much. seriously because i killed every single one before this. i have recommended this app to several people who have told me they are too busy for the house plants they want and they love it too. thank you planta for my new hobby!! i seriously have never written a review for anything in my life before but this was worth it..Version: 2.5.2

My plants are thrivingI do not have a green thumb and am very pleased to see most of my plants thriving by following the app’s instructions. One feature request: a way to pause notifications during vacations…. I can use the schedule to provide instructions to my plant-sitter but it would be helpful to pause the checklists at the same time..Version: 3.30.1

Very helpfulReally good app. Helps to keep track with the watering schedule for each of my plants. I’m just starting so it’s really hard to know exactly what to do to keep them alive and happy. Biggest downside is that the subscription is quite expensive. Even the 12 month subscription is too much for an app..Version: 2.5.2

Great app for keeping your plants healthy!I’ve been using Planta for just over 4 months now as a premium user and I love it. It helps me keep my plants organized and healthy. While I am a relatively new plant “parent”, and I rely on it to help me know when to water, fertilize, and generally care for all of my plants (35!), I know that I still have to trust my own instincts and that every plant is different. That’s why I enjoy the features Planta has in place to make sure you care for your plants in ways that work for you. I enjoy all the features, including the plant health tracker, and access to a plant doctor bot for plants that are in trouble. For the most part all of my plants are thriving. That being said, I would ask for Planta to think about adding a vacation mode feature into the app that lets you switch your schedules for the amount of time you will be away. Not all of us have people who will look after our plants while we are away, and it would be nice to be able to modify the watering schedule without having to snooze plants every 2 days until you get back. Also a tips section regarding how to prepare your plants for your vacation would be super nice, too. Maybe also a calendar view for upcoming activity would be a nice future add, too. 😊.Version: 1.9.2

I like the app and plants are surviving because of it.I only use the free app and this has definitely helped me protect and care for my plants longer. I’m not sure I love it enough to pay monthly for it. Maybe when I get more plants and I try more expensive larger varieties it may be worth it. My gripes and the things that make me want to try different apps are; I find it really difficult to delete and move plants from room to room. I have deleted plants previously but I can’t find where I did this. I also want to delete the rooms and can’t do this either. This may be my inability to navigate the app but these controls do not seem to be where I expect them. Otherwise the concept and design are really good. 2 days later - finally had time to fiddle and found ways of moving rooms and deleting. The control seem quite hidden but happier with the app now and have upped my rating..Version: 1.8.6

Great tool for houseplant managementI’ve used this app for the last two years and it has really enabled me to go from one or two small plants in my home, to having the confidence to go bigger and really get into houseplants as a hobby. Having a tool that reminds me when to water and fertilize, where the hidden plants are that I might forget about, what new plants I might want to add to my home, has given me a lot of confidence and new skills, as well as a bunch of healthy-looking specimens, rather than the sad, brown and ultimately dead objects that I used to “care for”. Great app. I’d like to see some simplification and streamlining of features for upcoming tasks, and some other small changes, but really nicely designed overall..Version: 3.8.2

Wonderful app for healthy plants! This is the first time I’ve done a review. This app is so great! I have many indoor plants and since I’ve been on the free app and watered them when notified by the app to do so my plants have never looked better! Two very different cacti bought locally had the same care instructions yet one of them was looking very poorly. Turns out, thanks to Planta!, that one of them needed more frequent watering than the other. Planta you have saved my lovely cactus, thank you! Only negative is that there is no free trial. I’m very interested in getting a yearly subscription but with no free trial it’s putting me off purchase..Version: 1.8.6

@Solo.plants ReviewLiterally love this app!! I use it every day and have for a year now! It’s so perfect to learn about plants and it’s very easy for someone with a busy life! I’ve shared it to friends and I recommend it to anyone starting out in the planty life 🥰.Version: 2.6.2
