✓ Super easyToday October 5 , 2018 was my first time using it , it was super easy and quick. It was better then using the online version. I would recommend to have your taxes that you filed with ready to use just in case you need to refer to it but I always suggest to use the transfer data tool on IRS..Version: 2.0.1
✓ Better than the websiteI’m not sure why this is but I wasn’t able to fill out my fafsa on the desktop website (each application would never save, application wouldn’t accept my FSA Login when I attempt to link my tax return to the application) so I downloaded their app and everything went incredibly smoothly!.Version: 4.0.1
✓ Handy to use with some minor hiccupsFor the most part, this was easy enough to use. The issues we ran into: 1. Date picker froze the app when the wrong date was selected. Slip of finger left the student’s birth year at 2021. Tried to pull date picker back up but clicking did nothing. Could not go back or forward. Eventually just did a swipe to close the app and then logged back in. 2. Signature page needs popup error message when account hasn’t been verified. My student set up her account and then proceeded to fill out the fasfa. At the end, it took both the student and parent signature, but then hung on the last submit step. Wouldn’t go anywhere or do anything. Logging into the website on a laptop revealed the error message that the student account needed to be verified by the gov first. 3. After account verification is done, signatures get hung in a loop. Once we got the e-mail that the student info was verified, student logged back in and was prompted to re-sign. Then parent was prompted to log in and sign. But once those were done, it prompted the student to log in and sign... then the parent. A loop. Finally student logged in on website on laptop and found both signatures were there and just had to submit. Was able to successfully submit on the website at that point. (Dev: for your reference, we used the app on Apple 8Plus iOS 12.4.1.) — side note: both the web and app recommended using the IRS link system to import tax data but it didn’t work in either place. In the app, clicking the link does nothing; on the website, you get hung in some kind of circular login hades. We just entered the info manually in the app. If those issues could be addressed, it would be perfect. The app itself is aesthetically pleasing, clear, and easy to navigate..Version: 4.2.1
✓ Felt very fluid, super easy!Love that FASFA can now ALL be done ENTIRELY on your device! Displays large, colorful buttons, guiding you thru the form, saving each section as you go along... and all editable! We did it in no time in the middle of the night. Way To Go FASFA! Tip: We found it easier to be with dependent during the process, have him log in as “student” and have him fill in all his AND our parent info while we provide it for him. Then once it’s time to sign he signs 1st, logs out then we log in and sign. Easy!.Version: 3.0.0
✓ Great app!I currently don’t have access to a computer but lucky for me this app is around! It was so quick and easy to go through all the sections, fill out information and eventually submit! The different parts told me what section my information was in which made tracking down some data very easy for me! Took less than an hour to fill out my FASFA this year! ✓ It worked!I just filed my fafsa with an app! That’s so crazy to me. It took a little bit to load as it was saving things but it wasn’t that bad. I love that it bring my info from my tax return and the previous fafsa which is nice. Took like 10 minutes for me!.Version: 3.1.2
✓ GET THE APP!I love the app! I was trying to fill out my fafsa info on their website but every couple of minutes it would kick me out and say ERROR. I would try again and it’d kick me out again! I would even have to start all over again which was very frustrating. I saw their ad for this app and thought I’d try it. So glad I downloaded it! It was so easy. Didn’t give my any trouble at all and I was actually able to finish really quick..Version: 2.0.6
✓ A GEM IN A PINCHThis app would have saved me hours of time if I had discovered it before graduate school. The information was presented in a clear and informative manner, while the app made the process simple and pleasing. I am really grateful I could complete the application using a smartphone. I did not experience issues or glitches, and I completed the FAFSA in record time!!! Thanks for the great app and time efficient tapplication..Version: 3.2.1
✓ Awesome toolBeing a financial aid counselor I am excited about the new app. I have went through the app and it offers a lot of resources through the one app. This makes it easier for the students to complete FAFSA, complete loan process and they can also log in and find out information regarding their loan. ✓ Notifications Please and why “myStudentAid”It would be great if notifications we a part of this app’s functionality. How great it would’ve been to get notified on Oct. 1st that the 19/20 FAFSA is ready to be completed. Also why on earth is the app named “MyStudentAid”? And the app icon says “Federal Student Aid”? Either match the two for consistency or and even better idea would be to call the app “FAFSA”. I’m just thinking from a student’s perspective and to try and make it as simple as possible to complete. But as a plus, the app layout is great and it works really well guiding people through the FAFSA process. Good job FSA!.Version: 2.0.1
