The Tapping Solution for Negative User Reviews

OverwhelmingThis app is overwhelming. I just wanted to learn the basics of tapping because I saw my friend do it. When I opened the app I didn't even know where to look. Everything is trying to grab my attention and gamify tapping. I'm going to find out what the basic motions are (I'm sure they're in here somewhere) then delete this mess my mind..Version: 3.13.1

Where did the audio books go?The audio books have disappeared since the most recent update..Version: 4.0.1

ExpensiveIt’s way too expensive for what it is. Not gonna pay over $150 for something that’s free on YouTube. Nice try mate!!.Version: 2.4

Juste en anglais …Dommage que l’application sois uniquement en anglais elle n’est pas assez accessible pour tous.Version: 4.0.1

No pricing info + mixed messagesI can’t find a price anywhere, and there’s conflicting info all over the place. It says there’s a one-time fee and subscriptions are for life, then in the next paragraph it states that subscriptions will be renewed automatically. Then when I went into the terms of agreement there’s language about monthly and yearly subscriptions, but no actual rates. Like can you just tell me how much it is and how long a subscription lasts? And hire an editor..Version: 2.3.12

Good but a rather frustrating to useI really enjoy the recordings and am still on the free trial although I find it very difficult to find my favourites and my most recent recordings. It’s cumbersome & off putting. I’d like it to work quicker & be able to find things easier. Also, often the rating chart doesn’t show on screen. It is a great tool but I feel it needs to be streamlined..Version: 2.3.7

Expensive!!!Probably a good, helpful, useful app, but at $130 a year, I will never know!.Version: 3.15.2

Not freeSad I only had access for a few days to the “free” tapping meditations - I only used one (corona virus) before the lock signs went on and now you want me to pay. Looks like you’re looking to profit from peoples’ fears which is not what I expected from the Ortner family. Very disappointed..Version: 2.3.3

It’s too expensive! It’s an app that provides strategies for people who suffer with anxiety, however it is too expensive. A wellness app shouldn’t be this expensive! It really goes to show that mental health only matters for the people who can afford it, which is not true..Version: 3.4

Accessibility Doesn’t Match Tapping Content QualityTapping as a beneficial practice is 5 stars, but sadly, the app not so much. Content is varied and happily very extensive by now, compared to its early version I first subscribed to. After a break for a few years, I tried it again. My thoughts: You could improve the UX so much. It’s clear this is not where you are putting your development interests, let alone any real commitment and emphasis. Why not though? A successful private company like yours with multiple subscription programs, books, summits, etc. generating such significant revenues annually that ignores a whole market segment who will not become committed to subscribe or soon leave paid use behind because of the app’s weaknesses, makes no sense to me. You ‘followed the pack’ into app mediocrity, it seems, instead of innovating, as you first did with bringing tapping to the masses with your movie and tapping summits. I am especially disappointed to see you’re still not following best practices to address some of the most common disabilities that can already easily be anticipated and mitigated during design. Stop ‘cheaping out’ on something that could well garner you a wholly beneficial increase in subscription loyalty and therefore your profits! It’s well known, I thought, that it’s much less costly to keep an existing customer than to acquire a new one. And I wonder what some well designed research would find, about the real reasons people don’t subscribe after a trial plus even more importantly perhaps, drop subscribing after only a few months or first year of paying … I know it was a big part of my decision to stop paying, earlier, that the app’s UI was, pardon the vernacular, ‘crap’. And I am still mixed about continuing while the app is still so painful to use. Please do better to include those of us who, for e.g., I need a setting to switch off the box visuals in favour of a plain background (most box visuals make text near illegible, presently) and generally I need some basic iOS accessibility features your app is even yet incompatible with, and obviously NOT designed to support, when it could be. It’s really hard also, for many arthritic and RSI-affected like me, to have to scroll so excessively simply because of the box display size being so large (so maybe a text-only-no-boxes search results option and/or a text-based index and links/selection list in the app, similar to that shared recently & included in your latest marketing page (given why do we paying users have to do so much work, consult elsewhere, separately from the app, about the app, like that, instead of directly in it?!?) A couple other improvements also, please: — Provide a sort feature (able to select order as alpha by title, by subject, category, program/challenge, length, etc.) in My Favorites; — Improve the options, make it easy to have sleep tappings end fully without waiting endlessly for user intervention (am I somehow missing that being there already now?) Nick’s goal of making tapping universal, of millions learning tapping is great, laudable. Now, how about doing more than lip service to prove you intend for persons with disabilities to be included in that, that we are include as an important part of your goal? Accessibility is a failure currently, frankly. You lag so badly on this, I cannot imagine you come close to implementing the letter or spirit of the applicable law either. Accessibility is overtly named or not addressed anywhere I have seen, ever, in The Tapping Solution’s materials. In sum, I would like to change my review for the better, and if you do the work, I definitely will. Please consult and hire the right experts, properly experienced snd qualified in accessible app design. Supplement that with the best inputs from those affected, so using participation from original ideas through beta testing and feedback on accessibility by a range of pwDs!).Version: 3.11

Disappointing.I joined premium with really high hopes but was left really disappointed. I find the tapping meditations really slow - so slow that I’ve fallen asleep numerous times trying to do a few back to back. Also, it’s super annoying to have EVERY single sentence starts with “side of eye, under eye” as a) once you’ve gone through the sequence even once, you don’t need to be told where to tap (the pause in each sentence is enough to know when to change) and b) it distracts you from the topic you’re tapping on - it breaks it up too much and you don’t feel as ‘into’ the topic so I feel it takes away from the potential efficacy..Version: 2.2

Didn’t seem to help so don’t use much, no refundsI thought I would use this and I just don’t. Didn’t feel different using the tapping. I really wanted to, I just didn’t. Did try EFT programs from others and those are working. Received an email and tried to renew at the rate I got to try this with. System wouldn’t let me because it wasn’t time to renew (1mo out). Then I goofed and missed my calendar notification to cancel. No refunds, so I went to app to turn off auto renewal so I don’t forget next year (because this is PRICEY). That isn’t possible. You can’t fully control your account through the app! You can buy more products, but you can’t cancel. I’m not kidding. You have to go to their website, then locate where to turn it off. I gave one star because I didn’t get a lot of benefit from the sessions and to have to hunt down how to cancel and or opt out of auto renewal is not a great business practice..Version: 3.3.1

Not happyI do not have a subscription anymore and have been charged for a year Not happy about this.Version: 3.12.1

This app actually caused me stressAfter tapping it prompted a 14 day free trial and so I clicked yes, sure cause why not and ended up charging me $125 that second.Version: 3.16.1

Omg really?I am sure that this is helpful to some but my goodness how do you justify how obnoxiously expensive it is? You tap specific places, add music, say something empowering, and for that you are charged hundred and hundreds of dollars? Over five hundred for a lifetime? Uh...I think not. I know that you have to eat too but we are all dealing with a lot of stress and financial issues right now and having an app that is supposed to help us all deal with the stress cost so much money is the very definition of price gauging. A kick them while their down thing. Shame on you! I learned how to tap for free...I advise everyone else to do the same. Have a great day 👍.Version: 3.14.1

I cannot find a way to cancel my subscription‘Cancel anytime’ is harder than it sounds. I would like to cancel before the account rolls over yet I cannot find any way to do this on the app..Version: 2.4.1

Free trial, charged me for a year!!!!I am so angry, it promoted a 14 day free trial but actually charged me for a year instead. Absolute garbage and robbery. I want a refund now!.Version: 3.13.2

All of a sudden all my tapping selections are lockedI am quite surprised that I already paid an annual subscription a week ago and I went to do the tapping today and everything is locked asking for an upgrade to premium in order to continue the challenges I already started. Not really impressed by this approach. Not upgrading as what is the next upgrade a week from now you will be asking for?.Version: 3.11

Dashboard too cluttered. The actual tapping meditations are great however for my liking the app looks too cluttered, with too much useless information. You also repeat that information more than once, just wording it differently, please tell me where is the sense in that? Also why is it called a dashboard? Usually with a dashboard the user would have some control over it, we have no control over that. So really that is not a dashboard. I haven’t logged on for about 6 weeks and in that time more of what I personally think is useless information on it which makes it look even more cluttered. When I log on now I come straight out of your so called dashboard and into the meditations. Not everyone likes clutter on a dashboard or even a computer screen. I like a clean / tidy dashboard and a clean / tidy computer screen..Version: 3.9.1

App design uses “dark patterns” to manipulate usersI SO wish I could give a favorable review! I think the tapping part is amazing but as a UX designer and researcher I can absolutely say that this app is designed in a way to purposefully confuser users into thinking they have to sign up for the free trial in order to use it. YOU DON’T! But they use coercive design i.e. “dark patterns” to manipulate people to sign up for the trial and then will gladly bill you if you don’t cancel. I’ve worked in digital design for 20 years and this is not OK, it’s not ethical design. I love tapping and love Nick’s book, etc, but my opinion of his company has shifted. When I reached out to his team—and him personally as we’re connected on LinkedIn—they didn’t seem concerned and Nick didn’t respond at all. I truly hope they redesign the user experience for new users…why act in such a shady manner when you actually have such as helpful, otherwise well-designed app? Until then I won’t give this company any of my money. If/when this changes I will gladly update my review..Version: 3.15.3

Too expensiveBeautiful app but just too expensive. I gave it a 1 star because once again healing is only for the rich..Version: 3.2

Doesn’t work, costs moneyShocker, doesn’t do a thing and has a monthly fee. Delete.Version: 3.10

The trial is a scamThe company uses your Apple account to take a yearly subscription without clear permission. No doubt there is some difficult to find fine print somewhere in the trial signup. They give no formal warning that they are about to take your money like most other app companies and the first you hear is that you have lost $150+. Do not take the trial if you have an Apple account. The software is fine and definitely not worth $150+ per year..Version: 3.3.1

Dangerous negative messagesBeware of negative and abusive messages in the tapping sessions! In the “turn your day around: quieting the critical voice” there is a very dangerous section where Nick Ortner has you tap in and lock in to say that you deserve all the negative self talk and abuse! That is extremely dangerous for me and everyone’s mental health and very triggering for anyone who has come from any sort of abusive situation. I recommended that they edit that session or take it off-line immediately, but they have not even responded. That is all I’ve heard and my head now for several days regardless of everything else I’ve been doing, that “I deserve it”. I have been tapping for years, long before the Ortners got involved with it for their financial gain, and I was a big fan of Louise Hay and Hay house for many years, but I am now realizing that the Ortner‘s are very dangerous people and that they are doing hypnosis to tell people that they deserve bad things. I had been recommending this app to everyone I know, but I am no longer doing that as it is abusive..Version: 3.8
