✓ Good app but unsure where it’s going....I really like this app. I’ve never played piano before and wanted to learn all the theory and technique before investing in an actual piano\keyboard. It’s pretty good so far and has taught me how to read music by simplifying it and gives access to good games to improve on rhythm and music reading. The theory is great as well, it’s nice to have that in the middle of the daily practice. Good teaching techniques. There are a couple of things that I would change/add though: 1) Higher level progression in the ‘virtuoso’ game: the ability to play faster after all the notes have been learned, without the need to go ‘pro’ on the songs. 2) More songs to learn and to choose from. It’s quite an expensive subscription and it would be nice to learn some songs of my own choosing. 3) Incorporate right hand/left hand practice. 4) Add chords practice. All in all though; it’s the best app I’ve tried so far and perfect for beginners..Version: 1.12
✓ Weirdly this workedI’d be learning sheet music by using a piano app called flowkey and I spent an hour everyday doing that for a whole year. I learned to play piano from that app but the sheet music skills never got ingrained for whatever reason, just something about that app wasn’t teaching it in a way that stuck with me. But swear to god I played this app for a couple of days and I had somehow learned the entire bass clef from doing that. I don’t even know why it works so well, but for me, it was almost like magic. I never review apps, but this one deserved it. I even bought their outrageously expensive year long membership. Like, they earned the money in my opinion. It just worked. Fast, too. ✓ Cool gameIt’s a cool game to learn piano but I hate the fact that it’s a little misleading when it’s free to download the app and then they tell you that you have to sign up for the free trial just to even try it out. Kind of a waist of time to now just have to delete the app. I have a lot of things to remember so canceling a subscription isn’t at the top of my priority list. I think they should offer you a free version with limited features to try out the game without having to actually sign up for the trial. Other than that it’s purpose is cool and I’ve tried other apps that give you a limited amount of features for free..Version: 1.12

✓ Get rid of the subscriptionThe game says that “ITS FREE” the ad looks convincing the name but I open the app what do I get “wanna sign up for our subscription” every piano app I get it always says that. I don’t have a piano but I would love to play like actual songs to my choice instead of paying for a $12 subscription. Like make the more advance songs go into your subscription and put like the songs everyone likes from various artist for free. ✓ Has potentialI like the different things they teach you and how they do it except when I’m trying to learn a song as a beginner I’d rather not have to guess how to position my hands and guess was the notes are all the time. ✓ Haters Are Lying!I don’t have a explanation for it. But I do have a review! :D This app still lets you learn a lot of piano even if you don’t buy the free trial! Which is amazing because I do piano lessons and I like to review some piano apps! And so far, this has been the best piano app I have used! I am training to learn the song Fur Elise and this piano app taught me the first part of Fur Elise which is amazing. But I still recommend piano lessons more then the app. But if you would rather pay less then go right ahead and get this app! This is the longest review I have ever made before because, it’s the best app for piano I have used before! :D go ahead and buy this app now! Hopefully you follow my advice. But if you get stuck in the Free Trial thing there is a little arrow that looks like this > it’s white so it blends in with the stars . So if you can’t get past that that’s how to get past it. If anyone was confused about notes the more you learn the more you remember! The notes might look confusing at first but after you see what notes they are you will start to remember all of the times you practice! Practice doesn’t make perfect but it does make good! ✓ Great, but one thingI got this app a while back, and its the best free piano lesson app ive seen on the market. But i noticed that it has the SAME formatting as an app called Elevate. Elevate is supposed to sharpen basic skills, and lets you do 3 lessons free per day, and locks the other two (unless you subscribed). it ALSO has the same style of organizing their games, lessons, and stats. If you download the app and compare them, you could say that the only difference is what they teach. as soon as i saw how they put your points in a cut up bar, i recognized it right away. Coincidence? maybe, but it IS sketchy... edit: Elevate was created in May, 2014 and while i cant find a publishing date for this app, i do know that the first update was 10 months ago. so yeah.Version: 1.11

It has especially helped me with my listening and sheer notation skills because at school I play the French Horn so I’m used to sheer music but it’s hard sometimes to recognise the notes so this has really helped a lot. ✓ Great app but too priceyHello Piano is the best app for learning the theory/sight reading required for playing the piano that I have come across! It has helped me a lot. I have been using the free limited version which is good but frustrating at times when you max-out your lesson limit for the day. I would purchase the subscription, however it is much too expensive at the moment. This seems to be a feedback theme and so I would urge the developers to lower the monthly the fee. I understand that we can use the limited version for free (as I do), but why encourage us users to use the free version when we’d be happy to pay you a fee if it was lowered? I think anything up to £5.00 per month is reasonable for the number of games the app offers. Thank you to all the developers who have worked to create the app - it is very effective! I hope to see the fee lowered and look forward to becoming a subscriber!.Version: 1.7
