✓ Frenetic Pace - Perfect BalanceI got this for my kid but it’s too difficult for him, then I got totally addicted to it for the last couple of weeks as a stress-buster between Skype for Business meetings. It’s fast-paced enough to be genuinely challenging as soon as you’re through the training levels, so there’s a little endorphin hit when you finally beat the level you’ve been stuck on for a day. Honestly, you have to go into a sort of trance sometimes to deliver the orders on time, and it’s a buzz. At times it’s almost impossible until you’ve upgraded your kitchen equipment, which can take a lot of grinding on previous levels to save up the cash and jewels. But that’s part of its charm, and part of the hook of any game, really: the balance between frustration and achievement. You don’t get one without the other. And if it was too easy you’d complete the game within a day. Maybe this is a weird comparison, but it made me think of Zelda Breath of the Wild: the soft-locks and barriers to progress have to be really well-calibrated so that you don’t just lose interest, and I think they’ve got the balance just right here, even if I’m currently going a little crazy waiting 6 hours for a bacon dish to be delivered. ✓ Can’t progress because of glitchThis is a really good game but at a certain point in the dialogue the game freezes and you physically can’t progress. I’ve tried deleting and redos loading it and updating my iPad but nothing works. I’ve seen other revIews with the same problem. ✗ Great game but...I love this great. I love the different options so it’s not always cooking the same thing and how you can work for gems etc by playing over and over and don’t have to buy them all the time. But recently the game has started glitching, every time I win a level it freezes and I can’t click any buttons or get out. So I have to close the whole app and then get back into it..TaytIndiVersion: 1.0.9

✗ Problem with currency, too many ads.I like this game a lot. It’s genuinely fun to play and is a good way to not be bored. But a big problem is how hard it is to earn gems and how much you need to do anything. You’d expect something minor like an outfit to be available after about 15 minutes of play, but it takes forever to rack up the 30 gems to get just a decent outfit. And it also requires gems in order to upgrade things? Why not just make it the coins? It’s overall really stupid. Another huge problem is the sheer amount of ads. I completely understand. It’s a free mobile game and needs to make money somehow. And the ‘watch an ad to speed this up!’ and ‘watch this ad to add 30% of your coins to the total!’ things are fine. Watch an ad for a boost or something. Who cares? But there are also ads after just about every game. Every few games would be fine, but you complete a game and before you can even start the dialogue you’re getting an ad for some scammy app. Sometimes I’ve even gotten an ad while I’m just sitting on the menu for too long.
