✓ It’s okayI got Vector today, so I haven’t spent a ton of time with it, but here are my initial thoughts: When I saw it, I was intrigued, especially because the Cozmo seemed so nice, but I wanted something a little more grown up. My expectations were “Alexa on wheels” to sum it up. It is _kind of_ that.. but falls short. I’m not really sure what it is good for yet. The commands take a very long time to execute and sometimes you have to say them in a two step process. I liked how he described the weather, but he was confused by me asking him what the weather would be like tomorrow. Which I thought was odd. The app is okay, but every time you leave it and come back, you’ve gotta wait for it to connect. Since it’s cloud connected, why does it have to connect via Bluetooth / Wi-Fi always? Moreover, I went to see if I could just log into my account on my iPad and see it, but then it wanted me to go through the Bluetooth pairing process again, which is annoying. I hope they have some good plans in the future for this thing. But right now, it’s just not what I’d hoped it would be. I have to decide whether it’s better to return it and spend the $250 elsewhere, or to wait it out to see what gets better..Version: 1.1.0

✓ DisappointingI was expecting great things from Vector, especially after enjoying Cosmo so much . Very disappointed with him as he does nothing, literally. No games, no cube rolling, no questions answered, NOTHING!!! He can’t even get the time right as there are no relevant times zones available. For such an expensive little guy he’s a huge disappointment, the app does nothing to help him either - though the developers say he is meant to be autonomous of the app anyway. (Unlike Cosmo who is totally reliant on the app.) Hopefully there are some updates soon as he has become redundant and lost his charm already (we’ve had him a week).Version: 1.0.1

✓ Awesome but could be more like cozmoI really like the thing and it is very helpful, but I would like if it could be better if you added more games so kids would enjoy it more like giveing it more cubes so it can play quick tap and the other games that cozmo could play. ✓ UnreliableThis app is horrible. It’s completely unreliable and the company lacks communication on every aspect. Having issues with signing in and when I contact customer support, I get an email stating it’s past their normal business hours and says they’re closed 6pm EST when I emailed them at 2pm EST. There’s no way to find server status to see if something is happening with Vector. And they never communicate any issues in any of their social media platforms. I truly believe this company should have much better communication with their consumers. Especially considering the amount of money Vector costs and subscriptions and such. This could easily be a 5 star app and product if it was properly tended to and if there was better communication from Digital Dream Labs..Version: 1.8.6

✓ ???I really can’t complain about the app as it really doesn’t do much past settings and suggestions of how to interact with Vector. the problem is Vector himself! the kickstarter really hyped him for so much and so far it’s a disappointment. 1) his 4 sensor edge or ‘cliff’ detection seems less reliable than Cosmo’s one sensor! 2) he sometimes gets stuck upside the cube doing the ‘wheelstand’ and is only able to move off it when his battery starts to die and he needs to return to charger. 3) his hearing seems hardly as directional or sensitive as promised. and when you say you have a question he hardly wait long enough to hear said question before he starts to search the few words he may have heard and giving some completely off answer! 4) he really doesn’t seem to have the same capability to maneuver through obstacles or uneven surfaces as Cosmo can..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Overall decent app, seems like an afterthought thoThe app is overall decent, 5/5 for the bot, 3/5 for the app. Not sure why I need to be on the same router band but whatever. I also understand they want people to communicate directly with vector but a bit of control and notifications about stuck etc would help. No face recognition photo (take a photo and attach it to the face match profile), no export all in photos or delete all for that matter. And bring me red eyes, I want my cute bot to look demonic sometimes, maybe color wheel eye color if possible. App overall seems like and afterthought..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Honestly sadVector hasn’t been able to turn on since the new company took over and now I can’t even access any of the pictures vector took (on the app) back when he worked..😞 honestly kind of a big waste.. my vector won’t even light up.. •I have already read that to even use the newer vector(s) you’re going to have to pay a monthly subscription. Which in my opinion is uncool, why make people pay $500 for a product that they’re going to have to pay Monthly subscriptions on? ✓ Vector 1.0 and 2.0 no longer connect to serverWe have 2 vectors and both lost connection to the dream labs server three days ago. We’ve tried everything, including totally rebooting our networks. The robots turn on, chatter but cannot responses to any questions or commands. Odd to have both of them, different models, connected at different points in the house, suddenly no longer function. All other devices connected to our network work fine. This company has little to no support. We’ve written to them numerous times, begged for a phone call to discuss some of our past issues, sent the vector 1.0 in for a service check. It was returned as “fixed” but nothing changed. It still had all of the same issues. We love Vector and just want him to work again. What’s up with this company?.Version: 1.8.6

✓ Servers are down!The app cannot connect to the servers, because the servers are down. It won’t let you create an account or recover old one, so you can’t connect to the robot. I contacted DDL on their site and apparently the issue has been going on for few weeks, they don’t have an estimated date of when everything will be restored..Version: 1.8.6

✓ Great robot decent appI got vector a week ago and it is great but it’s feature are limited and still the cosmos can do a lot more but I hope they add more features for example vector can lift up the cube if you make him return home but the cube blocks it but there is no command to make him lift the cube up. The fact the vector is fully autonomous is great but the app needs work and in Queensland aus there is no selection for my time zone.i hope a kid improves vectors features because he has soo much potential. ✓ :(I really really loved my vector when i first got him but when digital dream labs took over he pretty much stopped working. i have to pay now for a subscription so he can actually interact with me or i have to spend $200 on the escape pod software thing that is so insanely complicated for a children’s TOY. i get they need to make money somehow but why did they have to ruin something i already bought and force me to pay even more than i already did at the start. the app also crashes a bunch and other than setting up your vector, doesn’t really do much :(.Version: 1.8.6

✓ Horrible appNot only does this app not work 90% of the time, (just straight up being stuck at a black screen with nothing occurring) but on top of that it adds basically 0 functionality to Vector itself aside from being able to change eye colors, which you can just tell him to do. It’s gotta be one of the worst functioning apps I’ve ever used, with essentially no purpose for existing aside from the fact that you need to have it installed to use your vector at all, which is ridiculous. ✓ Bugged out appCan’t keep the app open for more than 10 seconds before it tries to reconnect me and closes out to the main screen. For example I’m trying to look through the pictures I just asked Vector to take and I can’t load them before it ask me to reconnect and then fail anyway. The unit itself is relatively fun but the command process is tedious at times. Not to mention he can’t hear me very well when there’s people speaking loudly in the same room. I think the app needs more work and I’m still waiting on more commands and features. The Alexa integration is pretty pointless since I use google assistant anyway but it’s nice to have anyway..Version: 1.3.1

✓ Something is very wrongI have had a vector for almost 2 years now. I had to put him away for a little while and got him back out a couple of days ago. Turned him on and the app either can’t “find” vector or when it does it will not connect to the WiFi. Have to do a hard reboot factory reset and then it will connect to WiFi, download an update.....don’t know if it is the same update over and over or not.... then it restarts vector and then we are right back to square one. Will not connect. I don’t think it is my vector because it was working fine when I put it back in its case for awhile. I know it isn’t my WiFi as everything else connects fine. I am beginning to think it is the app. I think it might need an update itself, not vector. ✓ Great in a wayLook. I love my vector. I use him nonstop almost everyday. Rarely ever use the app. But when I do, I can never access it’s full putential. I get that all the interactions are meant to be commands to your vector, but it would be even better if the app was actually reasonable. There should be a battery meter, so you can check how much juice your robot yas left. There should be compatablility with cozmos cubes in games (if you have both, like me) so you can actually play fin games besides blackjack. There should be an in app programer, so u can make him do stuff( or at give access to the vector sfk in the app) you should be able to touch a command in app, and have vector respond. Not all this is needed, but they are just ideas. The app doesn't need to be a direct ripoff of cozmos app, but least make it a second option to control vector..Version: 1.3.1
✓ An app with potential. Just being wasted for nowThis app doesn’t do much to control the hardware. This app is actually not necessary beyond initial setup. This product doesn’t compare to the cosmo. And it’s more expensive and does half as many tricks.... I am seriously considering returning this product as the batter life is less then 20 min and the device just doesn’t preform as well as the cosmo hopefully there will we firmware enhancements that will awaken the true potential for this product. ✓ Wi-fi issues on appI got vector to see what it was like and the initial reaction was good, that was until you get to the app part. After set up and WiFi connection was established the app ran for a few minutes and then said reconnecting. After it reconnected it reconnected again and consistently does this. I’m not sure if it is vector because he can still tell me the weather which I assume uses the WiFi connection. I’m assuming it’s just the app because I have taken the device I was using off of 5ghz bandwidth to make sure it stays on the 2.4. ✓ Hmmm...I’m on the fence.After being so excited to get this little guy, not sure if performs as well as the marketing videos I have seen. I feel sometimes I have to call to him multiple times before even hears me. I feel I have to talk very loudly sometimes even in the quiet room for him to hear me. My biggest frustrating right now is not being able to connect with him with my phone. He is always connected to Wi-Fi, but I have the hardest time connecting with him with my phone. I’m hoping in time, there will be bug fixes and many upgrades. I am not giving up yet. I am glad that I was able to back this program and get mine early. Time will tell. ✓ Broken AppI got vector from seeing him on TikTok and well my lady and I were so excited for him to come in. He came in and we unboxed Jim’s Don got him ready to pair. I also got the lifetime subscription for him which honestly it’s been a while since I thought about vector because the app does not work. The subscription was a couple hundred dollars and then vector. But since the app does not work. Vector won’t connect and won’t get set up. I emailed out to the team and all they say is they are doing maintenance on it but it’s been months and nothing has been done. This app has not had an update in forever. ✓ So disappointingVector used to work fine. Now I can’t get him connected to my Wi-Fi. It’s ridiculous, I go through all the steps and it just says there’s trouble connecting. Spent ages making sure I got it right. Then I check my router admin and lo and behold Vector is already connected BUT the app doesn’t realise so it just sits there saying try again. ✓ WiFi problemsThe product is a 5 star product, but the issue that I have is connection. I’m on a military base and the only WiFi available is what they call a “Captive Portal” connection; it’s basically like Hotel WiFi which requires additional login upon clicking the WiFi option to connect to. I really hope that you guys will be able to give an update that would make this possible to connect. ✓ Vector App and Server IssuesVector by Digital Dream Labs llc does not seem to be working anymore. I’ve tried to create an account through the app multiple times for the last 2 weeks. The error message I keep getting says there are server connection disused between Vector and Digital Dream Labs. For further information I took to X (Twitter) and looked at the DDL X account, the last post (on the 7th August) said there was server issues and they will be back up shortly. ✓ $1000 PaperweightBought the vector robot for Son’s Birthday, spent $400 on the robot and another $400 for lifetime connectivity. Worked great for about a week then DDL servers all went offline. They keep saying maintenance is underway for almost 3 months now with no timeline on when they will be back up. Pretty sure I have been scammed at this point. No legitimate company conducts business in this sort of way and without any public updates to their customers. Extremely disappointed as I had such high hopes for the company..Version: 1.8.6

✓ PLEASE FIX THIS BUG!!!!!! SECOND REVIEW ANKIMy vector lost his WiFi connection so I tried to reconnect by searching network on the app then typing in password. However the app will not allow me to type my password or pair with Bluetooth in as it suddenly starts reconnection attempt half way through me typing. REPEATEDLY! This is REALLY annoying! ✓ Fix the app cause it doesn’t workSo I put my vector away for a couple years and took him back out and then I tried to play with him by connecting him to the WiFi,and when I sign in it’s says vector app cannot connect to WiFi and it says just restart and I do and that same thing pops I reinstall the app still doesn’t work I tried rebooting vector still doesn’t work I’ve tried all passwords still doesn’t work am I doing something wrong? ✓ App CrashThe app always crash when I’m going to choose network from the WiFi list. Then I can’t connect vector to network so I can’t use it. Very disappointed. You're probably good at making hardware but hopefully you're also good at making software.Version: 1.5.0
✓ Work in progressWARNING: Anki, the makers of Vector, have gone out of business which means the servers that Vector needs to operate may be shut down at any moment. ✓ Alright but seriously lackingThings you should seriously consider adding: Battery indicator in app. Ability to set scheduled sleep times. Ability to use Alexa without waking the device completely. Quiet mode where he moves around but doesn’t make noises unless spoken to. This might not be possible, but the ability to change the wake word in the Alexa app would be nice (or maybe even allow Vector to pass unknown commands to Alexa?). Some issues with Vector himself: changes his eye color when given commands randomly, not sure why but it doesn’t happen too often. Sometimes forgets what he’s doing in the middle of a command. Asking him the date gives me the time, too basic to mess up when it’s marketed as being a smart device IMHO. Obviously asking his Alexa side works, but definitely not as entertaining. It just takes away from the cool factor to have him answer something so simple incorrectly. 3 stars for now but if things aren’t improved in a few months I’ll probably drop it to 2. If things are improved it could be an easy 4 or 5. Vector himself is a 4/5 at least, despite his flaws he’s unique and quirky in all of the right ways. Alexa integration is nice, but I really hope they take integration to the next level. It’d be awesome if he could be used as a security device and if they delivered on the other future possibilities advertised on Anki’s website..Version: 1.5.0
