What is Steer Clear®? Description of Steer Clear® 1611 chars

The Steer Clear® app is part of a comprehensive program that helps young drivers reinforce positive driving behavior. Young drivers, under age 25, who complete the Steer Clear Safe Driver Discount Program, may be eligible for a discount on their State Farm® auto insurance. The Steer Clear mobile application tracks a driver's progress through pre-set learning modules of updated content including topics such as Bluetooth, distracted driving (texting/games), and special driving situations. Drivers will no longer need to manually record their trips if the program is conducted through this app. Throughout their trips, drivers will be scored and given feedback on their braking, acceleration, and cornering. This application will also offer a code (account key) in which a mentor (parent, guardian, agent, experienced driver over 25) can receive from their driver and keep track of their driver's course progress and driving feedback/trip scores from their own device. Once a driver completes the program, they will receive a program completion certificate that they can text, email, or bring into the agent's office. Badges have been added to Steer Clear to recognize and reward a variety of specific driving accomplishments. The badges will help align users to shared goals of the app, such as scoring a certain percentage on a specific driving behavior, while acting as virtual, motivational status symbols.

✓ Good but needs work.The lessons are great. I recommend having some prior driving and road knowledge before watching them as they ask some questions that are now covered in the videos. The driving tracking is not the most accurate or the best. Could use improvement. I wish the app also gave more feedback on what to do better at..AmazGamerBoyVersion: 1.4.5

✓ Amazing app but rating your driving needs some updatesBeen using the app non stop lately. Works perfectly and teaches allot to new drivers. Just dont take its driver rating to heart because its only as accurate as ur phone and gps signal. Personally had a dmv driver in my car for a scoring to see how this app compares. I drove perfectly with the instructor giving me a 100 but the app only gave it a 90 :/, if you hit any form of traffic it also throws off the rating from what i could tell. So if u want the perfectionist medal dont attempt to get it anytime during traffic hours. Its still a perfect app that i would recommend to anyone..Wack zeinerVersion: 1.2.7

✗ It’s okayIt’s nice to get the discount but is very annoying at the same time. I get points taken away for ALREADY going under the speed limit during turns. The app claims I was going to fast around turns and curves but if I went slower it would be a hazard. Also one other thing I strongly dislike is that is took points off for me breaking too hard. When I looked back at it, I pulled over for an emergency vehicle to pass. I wish there was a way to justify this so I don’t look like a bad driver..Tommy--14Version: 1.1.4

✗ Over-critical appI find that the app is over-sensitive: I have power boost in my car, which helps in city traffic because you need to take off when the light turns green, or risk getting hit from behind or the driver behind honking on the horn. It also helps when getting into traffic, but every time I use it, my score goes down. I have been working on my complete stops and going in a circle, but it gets me every time, & it is depressing. I am trying to be a better driver, but it’s always something. Meanwhile, drivers fly past me on both lines, which is downright scary..Emmy7133Version: 1.4.3
