Brilliant app!Been using this app for just short of three weeks and have managed to lose 2kg At first I was like woooah those calories are super low but it’s what I needed to get out of the buffer, you need to just trust the process! Little bit fidley as you need to add basically all the food but easy enough to do (joys of living in NZ) You also get amazing support with regular live updates and can submit questions Changed my membership to 6 months because of the support, ease and results.Version: 1.0.19

Affordable Guidance to Manage your DietThe big thing to remember here is that Carbon is a coach. The food tracker is there as a convenience, but the key feature is that it looks at your individual changes in bodyweight and recommends adjustments to your diet so you can keep making progress. Great AppPrefer this app over other like my fitness pal. I find it easier to input meals and track macros/calorie targets. Clean design, simple to use. Price is comparable. Support is really good for the app. Would like the option to be able to further break meals down into main meals and snacks, just to make it easier to allocate calories per “eating session”. I never wanted to track macros, but…I always felt tracking macros would feel obsessive and be a frustrating task, and as I’ve always found it easy to stay at a weight I’m happy with I didn’t feel it was necessary, bur after starting to make great progress at the gym, I started to wonder if it could be worth the effort. When searching for the best app I then heard the makers of this app were interviewed by Andrew Huberman that was enough of a recommendation for me to try it. On my first day I hit all my macro targets and realised this was not only simple to do but it was actually a lot of fun. Two months on and I would never go back to not using this app. The difference in my look is clear to see and I’m constantly receiving flattering compliments at the gym. If you can’t spend $1000 on a nutrition coach get this app insteadIt costs you $10 a month, about a price of a fast food combo meal that you are not supposed to order anyway. The Real Game ChangerCarbon Diet Coach uses proven science to help you with your weight no matter what your goal is. There is no anecdotal Social Media fad diet or empty promises just proven science. If you have a set of good scales for the kitchen and a set of good scales ideally with body fat measurement (it won’t be accurate but use the number to show direction more than anything else) then Carbon is easy to use. It may appear more expensive than some other ad supported options but you are lying for the process and the science to help you here. Where it matters. I read Fat Loss Forever in 2019 after trying numerous diets and lifestyle nutritional choices which never helped me lose weight in the right way. From low calorie shakes to low carb to carnivore to vegetarian to vegan and various other promise lands of healthy living, I’ve tried them all. Summer 2019 I was 140Kg and over 40% body fat. By the end of 2020 I was 100Kg and just under 30% body fat. The best fitness app money can buy.One word to describe this app.... groundbreaking. I’ve followed it’s founder Layne Norton for some years now, and I was super excited when it was announced he and his company would be releasing a diet coach app. Don’t look at this app as a calorie tracker, because it isn’t, it’s a coaching system designed to help you achieve the best results. Unlike other fitness apps that have useless things built in, like subtracting your calories burnt to your calories eaten, this app gives you a true reflection of where you are calorie wise and makes for a more accurate Marco tracker. This app is so revolutionary because of the way it works, if you’ve miscalculated your calorie intake for example deficit, and you’re over eating, the app will recognise this, and amend your macros and calorie count accordingly, it’s amazing, I managed to shed 8lbs in the time frame I wanted thanks to this app and the way it figures out your calories and macros. The beauty of it, is it’s accuracy, it’s far more accurate than any other app out there (provided you don’t lie to it when inputting your current workload regarding training). Great app!Been using MFP since 2016. So it was really hard to start a new habit. I committed to using Carbon for 30 days. The first week was rough, but then I hit my stride. I LOVE this app. The ability to break out snacks and desserts really opened my eyes to how much priority I was giving to “sweets”. So I learned something new about how I’ve been fooling myself. It’s easy to use and I enjoy the accountability of the weekly check-in. I used custom macros to align with Ted Naiman’s P:E diet as well as my activity level. I have lost 4lbs and looking much leaner! I am already small, but really wanted to lean out just a bit. I have renewed for another month and I’m very happy. Very easy to useI’m in the UK and it has most items in its database. If there’s an item that it doesn’t recognise then I just use the free version MyFitnessPal to get the macros for the amount of grams I have weighed. Affordable, life changing, food freedomFinding Layne Norton and the Carbon app has been life changing for me. Carbon takes the guess work out. The app allows me to trust the process (and the science). The app helps me stay the course when my body dysmorphia or emotions want to lead me down a path of restricting/extreme measures. I’ve struggled with under-eating and emotional eating for decades, but with tracking macros I finally feel food freedom. Yes- Tracking comes with a learning curve and daily intentionality, but for me, the emotional and psychological benefits alone outweigh any and all efforts I put forward. The physical progress is just a bonus at this point. I never would have believed I could eat without guilt and shame AND reach my goals if I hadn’t found Layne/Macros. Note: compared to free apps I’ve used to track by myself, the database doesn't have as many foods. I also double check entries as I’ve found a few generic foods have really inaccurate macros. Easy to use customized diet coachI have experience tracking macros, so I was looking for an app to keep me accountable and also objectively make adjustments to my plan from week to week. Carbon delivered that and then some! While the food database isn’t as extensive as other trackers, it’s easy enough to enter in a new food and then save it as a favourite for future use. Something I appreciate about the app being a tracker and coach in one is that when I go to check in, I can see my percentage of compliance. Best Macro App!Regardless of your goal (Carbon has options for lose weight, maintain weight, gain weight, and reverse diet!) this is the best macro counter app available. Especially for only 10$ a month. It makes everything so insanely easy, all you need to do is follow the macros! Basically, you input your weight, your goal, and your metabolism at start (always click normal unless your doctor tells you it’s slow!!) - then follow the macros it gives - three weeks later (of compliance) Carbon has your metabolism down, knows how much you need to eat to maintain vs. lose, et cetera. After wasting years (YEARS) of time trying to figure out macros and fat loss, I’ve lost 20lbs on Carbon AND have a better relationship with both food and the scale. It’s actually sort of insane to me that anyone would rate this lower than 5 stars, or compare it to the free version of MFP… it’s an AI coach, not just a macro tracker. Follow the macros it gives, get the results you want! You can also follow Layne and Holly on instagram for info about their team and the app - they’re always giving tips. Best nutrition app EVERI love this app. This app allows me to eat intuitively to the extent I want. I have goals but my intuitive eating doesn’t always align with those goals especially when I’m trying to build muscle or prepping for a bodybuilding competition. This app allows me to eat without a “plan” but still keeps me accountable to my macros and keeping my goals in mind. This app adjusts to my personal results. Wish we met sooner!I’m 47 years old and have been weightlifting and macro counting for the last 5 years. I thought I knew what I was doing and just had a stubborn body. So closeI love this app I really do. It is the first app where I have continued to track my food 80-90% of the time compared to my fitness pal, etc. I love the wheels, it’s simple but makes it fun to fill them in. My biggest issues are with recipes and the scanner. I wish there as a way to import recipes via link to at least get a starting point. It’s frustrating when this is a free feature in my fitness pal and, while it doesn’t always work, i at least don’t have to flip back between apps to record the entire recipe which can be cumbersome. Scanner isn’t too big, but I feel like a lot of the time I have to close and reopen the feature to get it to scan the barcode, which isn’t a deal breaker but can be frustrating when you line up the scanner with the crosshairs, it repeatedly doesn’t scan, and then will work after the 3rd or 4th try. I applaud this app for its clean interface and joy in use, which alone is why I will continue to pay/use it; however, think it is so close to being perfect I cannot give it 5 stars. I hope they continue to make this app better and - if they are working on things - find a way to better communicate to its clientele that these features are in the works..Version: 2.47.1241

Value for money and easy to useThis app single handedly does more for my nutrition than a lot of coaches out there for a very reasonable price. The AI utilises the data you provide to adjust your macros for your goals. It’s no fuss and incredibly easy to use. Great app!I’ve been using carbon to coach my heath back from contest prep! This is a great coaching app. You must be 100% accountable and compliant for it to work correctly. You can’t cheat science. There is no free version and I believe it’s value is worth payment (it’s much cheaper then a nutrition coach!!) the food diary is quite extensive (Australian) there are still a few things needed to be entered manually but that’s no biggy. 10/10 for me! So much more than a tracker or macro counting app, this fully fledged nutrition coach brought to you by superstars Layne Norton, Holly Baxter and Keith Kraker leaves no stone unturned in its desire to help you lead a fitter and healthier life. Having been a longtime user of a variety of trackers and coaching apps, I wasn’t sure I would ever make a switch to a new app, but as soon as Carbon was announced, I knew it would be a winner, given who was behind it. I was not wrong. I have within 2 weeks cancelled my other subscriptions and am placing all of my faith in Carbon and the team behind it. Simple setup, incredibly user friendly, responsive, this is the nutrition coach I always needed but never thought I could afford. It takes all the guesswork out of the game, enabling me to focus on what is important. If I fail to reach my goals, I know that will be on me and not on Carbon. $9.99 a month (or cheaper with a longer commitment) is an absolute steal. Make it HARDER to overwrite previous daysThis app is pretty nice, I don't dislike it, and so far I've been content to give it a try over other apps. However, one issue keeps happening that is REALLY annoying and us frustrating me to the point of reconsidering my use. That is, at least once a week, when tracking my meals, I will somehow end up editing my meals from a previous day in the week, in spite of being fairly certain that I started on the current day before logging. This wouldn't even be such a big deal to me except that the app alters your macros based on your adherence, so if I'm messing that up, is ultimately messing up how the app determines my future macros and progress. Since that's the biggest selling point, it's really not good that it's so easy to subvert it by accident. I would consider including a lock feature or something that allows you to KNOW you're editing a previous day or allows you to restore previous measurements if you've mistakenly altered them. Excellent app for coaching you through your nutrition needsI have been really taking my diet seriously since Jan 2019. I was following a macro based diet. It was working well but I fell into pitfalls of cutting my calories too drastically. In May 2020 I tried another diet coaching app, but found it too restrictive in its meal timing and macro distribution. I heard Layne speak on the American Glutton podcast and he was introducing this app. I gave it a shot. It has been awesome. I am about 12 weeks in, and I’m down 15lbs. I’m 10 lbs away from my goal dropping from 330lbs to 185lbs while maintaining my Lean Body Mass as much as possible. I look forward to continuing to use the app for maintenance and reverse dieting as well. While I didn’t know about the app until now, it is a great tool to help you navigate flexible eating. You have to be honest about what you eat, and track everything. I actually use a separate food tracker and just import my daily calories and macro into CDC, but their tracker is excellent as well. This coach is an excellent tool. It is a fraction of the cost of a nutritional coach and provides many of the same benefits. Perfect - even for UK usersThe other UK reviews are complaining about the uk database for food, as quite often you have to enter food info manually as they are not found on the database. However, you only ever have to do this once and then it saves it automatically as a custom food. No matter how many databases the app can access, it’s never going to have EVERY food, and entering the info manually takes maybe 10 seconds tops - and as I mentioned, you only ever have to do this once, then it’s saved in your custom database forever. Anyway - that’s such a small part of what the app offers, the main benefit isn’t even the food tracker, it’s the coaching. Which is just 10/10. I lost 10kg over 3 months and am now on a reverse diet, increasing my calories back up again gradually, whilst maintaining my weight loss. Quite simply a game changing app..Version: 1.0.21

A tool as valuable as your phoneNot trying to be dramatic but if sustained health and sustained weight is important to you this is a great tool. Before I say anything else there is room for improvement and I have faith that they will follow through with added features. Stop guessing what you consumed for the day and take a whopping 10 minutes out of your day and track it. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of figuring out how to control your weight at will. Blown away by how good this app is!I’ve been a chronic dieter for years. I’ve used so so many apps for tracking. Usually when you get a new app, it takes so long to get comfortable using it and adding all your food to easily input it. Let me say this is the most user friendly dieting app I’ve ever used. First off the coaching side of it is way more spot on than any other guesstimate calorie/ macro estimate I’ve ever gotten. They ask a lot of questions to get you right where you need to be. You can input your weight daily on the app and it averages it out over the week which is so cool! You can add up to 7 customizable meals. The search data base must have taken them so long to input! It’s all verified foods with REAL calorie and macro breakdowns (unlike MyFitnessPal which will have a cheeseburger at 10 cals sometimes because users are inputting.. very inaccurate). Great app - but a few bugsI haven’t been using it long but really enjoy it. Seems to be working and I’m eating more than I usually do There are a few bugs though but you can forgive that with it being relatively new. One is that the average tracked macros at check in are not right. I don’t think it pulls in the last 7 days. So it can say you are not compliant even if you are. Luckily you can override it. Also, for woman, if you are in your menstrual cycle or close to it, you have to note that you are on check in. The guidance says it will keep your macros the same even if you have lost too much weights or have gained. But it doesn’t. It still adjusts. When this happened to me I contacted support and they said on there end, I was saying I had selected no. But I 100% selected yes and have the screen shot to prove it.Version: 1.0.24

My favorite macro tracking appIve tried a few, noom, my fitness pal ans now carbon tracker. With noon I was able to change my mindset around food and lost the majority of the excess weight I had to lose (24lbs). However because I followed the 1200 calorie a day plan, I lost muscle mass. I picked the weights back up 4 months ago, and am focusing on cutting the last 10 while toning and carbon diet is getting me there in a very healthy and seamless way. My only suggestion for improvement is how it evaluates your weigh close to your period. If youre close and are not seeing the loss you are aiming for, it will keep your macros the same. However the next time you check in, if compliant the loss shows up as bigger than a normal loss in a week, but only because of water retention the week before. This leas the app to increase my calories which was inaccurate, took 2 more weeks to get my macros back to where I needed them to be to lose again. 100% RecommendI’ve tried apps in the past to help me keep check with my food. This has got to be by far my favourite. I tried RP strength previously but found it too rigid and calorie restrictive whereas I find I’m eating more with Carbon and I’m making great process. I’ve also tried Body Coach and found that too prescriptive whereas with Carbon i get that extra flexibility I need. I can see there’s been criticism in the past for users in the UK and not having foods in the database, I’ve not had any issues with this at all and pretty much everything I scan is there. Takes Out The GuessworkIt’s one thing to keep track of calories/macros, but how do we know what targets to aim for? Carbon is fantastic in that it is CUSTOM to our OWN PERSONAL goals! An Affordable Coach!!This app is so awesome! Sure, it has a way to track your food which is cool since it eliminates my need for MFP, but what this app really provides is a COACH. This app is off the charts AMAZING!I’ve been waiting for Layne’s app since he was rudely and stupidly kicked out of “the app that shall not be named”. For the past few years I’ve struggled with 5 other apps (including the one not named above) and even hired a PT for a year because she also helped with macros. Yet I couldn’t make the scale move despite weighing and tracking because I was constantly running into road blocks in the food categories. You need this app.For over 9 years, I tracked my calories using a basic, boring calorie tracking app. You know the deal... 1200 cals forever and an app that encourages you to “eat back” the calories it grossly overestimates you burned. Fantastic!I’ve been using fat secret forever. This fat-secret based app takes it to the next level. It’s incredibly intuitive. Love that it remembers what I last chose in terms of item and quantity. Love that I can either use the coach feature or set my own macro targets. Amazing that I can re-allocate calories across the week depending on my exercise and social plans. I’m a converted MFP user!!I’ve been a fan of a competitor’s app for years and recently switched over to Carbon Diet Coach once it became available...I’d heard about it before it’s release. I’ve been able to successfully modify my food intake to lose 4% body fat in the first month of using the app. The coaching aspect of this app is what gives this app the edge over other apps. Exactly what I neededWhen people ask me about my carbon app, the very first thing I tell them is that it was exactly what I needed when I was 19 years old, scared to take up space and lacking the knowledge needed to effectively reach my goals. Other apps give you your macros (dangerously low ones at that) and send you on your way. They don’t explain that you shouldn’t consume the calories burned from exercise that their own app adds back in because your exercise was already used to determine your caloric intake. Carbon exceeds where every other app on the market fails. I have been using the app for the past year and a half and have gained more muscle than I ever did in the 5 years before I found carbon. I just started a 6 week cut before going back to maintenance for vacation and it’s the first time I’ve eaten over 1,100 calories while dieting AND I’m seeing results based on my goal. The check ins are easy and even account for whether you’re on/close to your period. I’ve never felt so confident in my life, my clothes have never fit so well. It works!I’ve been using the Carbon app for 3 months now. It’s so much more than a tracker and streets ahead of the likes of MyFitnessPal (which has the capacity to massively under estimate your calories). Fiber!!!!Please make an option to count net carbs and fiber. Best Fitness App on the market.I’ve been using MyFitnessPal for years now and think it’s great however Carbon one upped it. Carbon essentially does what MFP does, tracks calories/macros but has a built in coach which adjusts your calories/macros weekly based on your goals. Whether you’re looking to lose weight, gain weight, maintain weight or reverse diet they have all of those options available. From a diet standpoint you can set it to balanced carbs, reduced carbs, low carbs, ketogenic even plant based. My biggest gripe is there is no option for a carnivore style approach which renders the built in coach useless if you’re following that style of diet. You can still enter in custom macros and use the app for tracking calories/macros. I’ve emailed back and forth between their customer service and they’ve always gotten back quickly with friendly and concise messages. On top of that there’s a very active Facebook group for app users. Even more impressive is Layne, Holly and Keith are very interactive in the Facebook group which in itself justifies the additional cost over an app like MFP. Overall if you’re looking for an app that will track your food and more importantly make suggestions to reach a goal you’d be hard pressed to find anything better on the market right now..Version: 1.0.20

Great tool and great interfaceI’ve been using carbon on and off for over a year and during that time have ventured off to another new app that is similar. At the end of the day I came back to carbon and I’d love to share the reason. Carbons user interface is simplistic and helpful in helping me reach my goals. There is not a lot of clutter and I don’t feel overwhelmed by the information. Carbon also does the basic stuff right such as when you search for a food and scroll down, the keyboard goes away. The developers really thought everything out to make it fluid and clean to use. The planner is a great tool to help get compliant. It would be great if the app could transition to adherence neutral but at the end of the day you know what targets to hit. The app pushes me to mail my targets and is very goal oriented. I can understand with a adherence neutral approach people can be spinning their wheels and not reach their goals. Overall super happy with the app and am excited with new competition Carbon will get even better. I can see the team is working on new features for the coming year. Definitely would recommend the app and don’t really have any complaints. Easiest thing I have done for weight controlI can say that using Carbon Diet Coach has been by far the easiest thing I have ever done for weight control. The app coach gives me my target calories broke down into macros (Protein, Carbs, and fats). I use the included food tracker to track my food which has a huge library of the nutritional macros and calorie count of most any foods you can think of, including popular restaurant menu items. I can literally eat anything I want as long as it fits within the macros/calories the app has given me. Weekly I check in with the app coach and based on my average weekly weight loss it adjusts my macros/calories up or down based on my rate of loss/gain. If you are compliant and consistent Carbon Diet Coach is incredibly accurate. I lost 69 lbs in 23 weeks with a weekly weight loss goal entered into the app of 3.1 lbs, my actual weekly average weight loss sits at 3 lbs. I am now using the app for a reverse diet to build lean muscle mass and will continue to use the app to track my maintenance macros/calories. Was skeptical but love itI read some other reviews that said this didn’t have a lot of items the individual scanned. It made me hesitant, but I decided to give it a try for a month. 7 months later I’m still using it and loving it. It was a little difficult to learn to count macros in the beginning. But that was hard for me, nothing to do with how well the app works. I’ve seen amazing results when I didn’t know if counting macros would actually help. Surprise! It did. I’ve hit all my goals. Food items are almost always there when I scan. (I buy a lot from Costco and Walmart.) The main differentiator on this app compared to others is the coach that adjusts the macros and calories according to your weight changes at your weekly check-in. I switched over to the weight trend algorithm a few months ago that was in beta, and it resolved all my concerns about finicky fluctuations (I have IBS, so I can struggle with exact weight amounts). Fantastic Nutrition Coaching PlatformI’m a 47 yo male who’s never been able to successfully diet down to what I call beach lean (ie six pack). I would typically restrict calories way too much, become frustrated/exhausted, and blame it on poor genetics. With the help of Carbon, I’m down to about 12% bf and am on my way to 10%. I am striving to maintain as much LBM as possible, so I’ve been maintaining heavy resistance training while on the cut. The App has been spot on after the first few weeks. As Layne always emphasizes, trust the process and be patient. Log your food, weigh in, and you will see results. Best app everI stumbled across this app from a fb comment. The comment on the app was so enthusiastic that I had to try it for myself. I’ve been an avid MFP user for years. When I came across the fb comment, I thought, what the hell, I have nothing to lose by at least trying it. I downloaded it and immediately joined the fb group for help and instructions. When I initially set it up, I incorrectly put in the wrong weight. I sent a support ticket and was answered almost immediately! Super impressive. I am a fairly new user to the app but it is super simple, very little learning curve (unlike other apps that I tried that are just clunky and hard to work) and it has a built in coach! I have lost exactly the amount of lbs that I input as my weekly goal. You can also tweak your macros, which some people may find as plus. Game changing calorie tracker and diet coaching appIf you use myfitnesspal and find it hard to find how many calories you should be eating get this. Ok so you cant take a day off this app you have to kinda be all in or lose a week (or just over estimate days off if you cant track) but as long as you are consistent and accurate with tracking this app will adjust your calories to meet your goals. Almost perfectI’ve been using the app for a few months. It works well. For the most part, the algorithm is spot on. The price is $10/month. I think it’s worth it because it takes all the guesswork out of setting up your nutrition. My only gripe is that the app does not handle cheat days very well. For example, if you have a day where you seriously overeat without tracking things like pizza, tacos, beer and junk food, you’ll of course gain some fat, but you’ll also hold on to some water for a few days that could cause a fluctuation in your weight. You’ll gain weight fast because of the cheat and then dump the water, resulting in a pretty hefty weight loss. This fluctuation will cause the algorithm to go crazy and think you’re losing weight very fast. It will then adjust your calories up, higher than they should be. Following the suggested macros in this instance could cause a week or two of weight gain (or much slower weight loss). On the contrary, if you were working with a human coach, s/he’d probably recognize the cheat day gain and rapid loss and just tell you to stick to the same macros for another week or two. I don’t know what the solution is? Perhaps you just don’t weigh yourself in the 2-3 days after your cheat? Not sure. Well I guess the real solution is don’t cheat. Haha.Version: 1.0.31

Brilliant!In the UK I’d say about 70% of the items I scan are in the food database and everything else can be searched for or entered manually which is no problem for me, but this is NOT a tracker! People in the UK who are complaining don’t seem to understand you are paying for a coaching algorithm not a tracker. You wouldn’t ask your human coach to track your food for you! So far I’m amazed with this app!As someone who has always struggled with yo-yo dieting and who has jumped on every type of “plan” there is, I was skeptical. I thought this was just another way for someone to make money from those who want to lose/gain/maintain weight. I had lost a lot of weight a few years ago and while delving into health, I started following Layne. I’ve done all forms of low carb/keto - high protein, high fat, carnivore. All that happened is my cholesterol skyrocketed and I started gaining weight. And I was not eating a lot - twice a day. Anyway, I said something has to change because nothing was working anymore. I signed up and chose to reverse diet because my food has decreased but my weight has increased. Even with exercise. One week in and I’m eating more than I have in months - even with more carbs - and my weight has decreased. I’m looking forward to increasing calories to a healthier level so when my body is recovered and ready to lose weight, I can start decreasing calories with room to drop them without starving. And the app does it all - you just have to enter the information, which is pretty easy. Great app but recently running very slow!!I think this is an amazing app I prefer it 1000% to MFP. However I find at times it runs really slow and when I try to add something it takes forever to load then comes up with an error message. It’s definitely not my internet as I have full 4G or wifi at the time! Great tool to support your own effortsThe app’s coaching function really sets it apart from other food trackers, and the support is great. You can ask them questions about your data and the recommendations that the app gives you. However, it has some drawbacks. The first one is, you have to be compliant to the recommended macros/calories for the coach to make a change. That can be frustrating if, say, your goal is to lose weight and you’re eating less than the recommended calories already, so non-compliant, but you’re maintaining or gaining weight. The app won’t be changing its recommendations since you’ve been non-compliant. The second is, there will be an adjustment period if you suddenly gain and lose some water weight. For example, when I went on a diet break, I gained 3 lbs immediately, and when I lost it on my first week back on the diet, the app thought I lost too much and asked me to increase my calories. And I had to, because as mentioned above, I had to be complaint or it wouldn’t take the data into consideration. That said, there are always ways to work with support around the issues. Great app but missing some basic functions and regular updatesI really love this app. it works well and I love the a clean interface. My main issues are that the developers have barely added any improvements or new functionality since it launched. A subscription based model should support continuous improvements. Additionally some very basic functions are missing that would improve ease of use greatly, namely the ability to drag entries on the timeline between meals, and to duplicate recipes. The ability to import recipes would also be a huge improvement. It would be great to have greater compliance ranges for carbs and fat if calories and protein are hit, and also support a fiber goal. A couple of suggested improvements: - I am in Australia and i find the barcode recognition seldom successful. Love love love CDCCDC has helped me in my postpartum journey to lose the excess weight (25kg) I had gained throughout pregnancy in a sustainable manner. Just perfectThis nutrition coaching app is simply a bliss to work with no matter the goal you have (lose or gain weight, reverse diet or maintain). You have to give a couple of weeks for the coach to know you. But when it does you’ll just cruise to your goal without problems. Quite good, but expensive.It’s a decent app, but after 6 months I don’t think it really justifies its pricing, so I’m out. The effort to log your food intake in the diary here wouldn’t be that much more difficult to do in a notepad or spreadsheet, especially if you cook a lot of you own food, and the calorie and macronutrient calculation is easily done for free elsewhere. The food database is extensive, though I find the search functionality pretty poor (enter say, ‘Ocado potato’ and it returns every potato product on the planet rather than just the Ocado ones). The diary data is locked in, so you can’t export it if you wanted to do some further analysis, and there isn’t the means to do that analysis within the app (eg, just how much booze am I drinking type of question). That all sounds a bit negative, but I’d still recommend it if you want an intro to how to get a handle on your diet and what you need to do to manage it, as long as you are honest with yourself..Version: 2.53.1936

An excellent appYou have to pay for it, and the subscription tiers are geared to push you toward longer terms but you get a clean, ad free app with excellent support and a phenomenal Facebook group. This is the only nutrition app I’ve found that actually works, and it works regardless of your diet. The app also helps with weight maintenance and metabolism rebuilding in a robust and effective way. The funny thing is even though the subscriptions are set up to get you to sub for 6 months or a year, after a bit you’ll probably realize that it’s the ultimate weight management tool and will want to subscribe for a really long time anyway. This app is incredible!!I have struggled with weight my entire life. There is so much misleading information in the health and fitness industry and a lot of it led me to disordered eating, big weight fluctuations and feeling defeated. Several years ago I discovered Layne Norton online and his honest information is what I needed to really understand nutrition and to see through all of the lies in the industry. When I heard he was behind the Carbon Diet Coach app, I was really excited to try it. I have used the app for a month now and have seen better weight loss results than I have ever seen before. Not only are the results there, I’m not super hungry and grumpy like on other meal plans. It is super easy to use and the coach feature is just like a real coach telling me each week what my calories and macros need to be at to reach my goal. I love that it adjusts based on my results throughout the week so that it is always keeping me on track to hit my goals. Best diet tool everFor years I’ve used My Fitness Pal to track my macros, so I was skeptical about trying this for a significantly higher investment. I’m SO glad I did - Carbon does SO much more than MFP , I will never go back. It is way more accurate at helping you estimate where your calories should be, and based on your progress, or lack thereof, it makes the adjustments for you to keep you on track. When something doesn’t seem right, I shoot a note to customer service & THEY ANSWER ME! I LOVE the ability to adjust for higher calorie days during the week. The recipe calculator is way better, as I can add the whole recipe or individual ingredients to my daily log. The food database is way less confusing and more accurate. Life ChangingThis app has completely changed my relationship with food and dieting. Over the years I’ve tried many different diet methods/apps (weight watchers, eat clean, bro dieting, paleo, keto, myfitnesspal etc etc) and have always re-gained the weight once I stopped restricting. I love this app because it makes flexible dieting so much easier as the app learns YOU as you progress and remain consistent. I find it so much simpler to incorporate foods I wouldn’t typically allow, which has enforced my ability to remain consistent over time. Best EverSo I used a similar macro website (hint: they kicked Layne out of their company, very poor decision on their part). I could never stick to the macros. I was always binging and the web app was so difficult to use which resorted in me also having to use MFP. So I was never compliant. I’ve been using Carbon Diet Coach for 3 weeks now and I’m down 6.8 pounds! It’s very easy to use and I love that I can switch between ounces or grams on every food item that I log. I logged in to the other companies website tonight to officially cancel and delete my profile and just out of curiosity I checked in to see where it would put my macros. They placed me almost 300 calories less than Carbon Diet Coach! No wonder I couldn’t stick to their plan. This app is a MUST! No doubt that you will see your desired results. I have learnt more about consistency and compliance in the last 12 months of using Carbon than what I have ever learned trying to meet my nutrition goals on my own. Great app & really works!!I’ve been using Carbon for a few weeks after it was recommended by lots of people on a social media fitness group I’m in. I really like this app!Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a tracker... it’s so much more than that. Yes, you can track your foods with calorie and macronutrient breakdowns... I’ve done this each day since I’ve used it. But more than that it’s really helping me to stay on track and I love the way it calculates adjustments to help you work towards your goals - as a good coach should. FantasticDon’t know what the other U.K. people are eating but 99% of stuff from major supermarkets is on here and if not you can add it manually. Really easy user interface. The one caveat is that to use this in a dieting phase your cardio would have to be kept the same. I can see why this hasn’t been included though as people are horrendous at guesstimating how many calories they burn from cardio. Best tracker everCarbon is not just about calories. Nor is it about your macros, although it totally is. (No, that’s not contradictory.) it’s about how to blast fat, build lean body mass and do it without trashing your metabolism by eating too little or not enough. It takes a while to get the hang of it but there’s plenty of support available from the developers just via email and much more advice and sharing via the social media communities, especially on Facebook. I have learned that I can still lose fat while eating more and I’ve seen myself lose inches everywhere. For me, it’s all about body recomposition. Get leaner and stronger and tighter all over while shrinking my waistline and thighs! This is no fad or gimmick but based on the latest, evidence-based science and it works. Best Diet App for meBeen able to cut the past two years with this app. Makes it really easy to just focus on my training and not have to really do all the work of managing how many calories to cut, macro split, etc. Well worth the money in my opinion. A no brainer investment!My husband and I have been on a fat loss journey for over a year using the knowledge of team biolayne via social media and his fat loss forever book. Like a real Coach but at a fraction of the price!I have used coaches in the past. Some are better than others! I am not a meal plan or ‘eat nothing but 150g chicken with 100g sweet potato 3 times a day’ kind of girl. I lost 32 pounds consistently over 30 weeks (with diet breaks) and didn’t feel like I was restricted at all! After a period at maintenance I have just added another fat loss phase. My advice for anyone starting - pre-plan your days! Even if you just plan out your protein and then leave some carbs and fats to be flexible with on the day. This app changed meThis app has changed the way I eat, how I look at food, helped me lose 12 lbs in 9 weeks (I am still going strong), and just overall lifestyle. I have fell victim to so many BB diets before (carb cycling, keto, chicken and rice, blah blah blah) and to be honest I was skeptical and totally thought my body couldn’t handle carbs. I thought if I ate a decent amount of carbs that I would gain weight and fat. I went all in after a spinal fusion surgery as I knew I had to change how I was living. Best $10 to spendThink about hiring a nutrition coach. What’s that cost? Easily $100+ each month. With carbon you get a coach (this isn’t just a tracking app, but cool feature is it has the best tracking within the coaching app) but you get a coach for $10. It takes a ton of guess work out of your life but still requires tons of work on your part. If your $100+ coach gave you macros you wouldn’t tell them they’re stupid. So give the app a shot. It takes your average weight. Weigh in every day so your check in can be as smooth as possible and it can make adjustments needed for you. Use this app. But also TRUST it.I love love Carbon and have recommended it to a ton of people IRL. I had read Fat Loss Forever early this year and then was lucky enough to have Carbon come out right after. I know the app knows what it’s doing. I have lost nearly 25 pounds since February and have just a couple more to go for my goal. This is after working at this with a trainer and nutritionist for years and not making progress because the fancy equipment they were using was over estimating my calories by at least 300. Has it been fun? No. It’s been a serious trial of my patience. But I have lost the weight in such a sustainable way that I will be able to keep it off. Best app for keeping me on track!I’ve been using diets, trackers and fitness apps for years on and off and I’ve never been consistent with them. This is different! It’s NOT MFP! Why didn’t I do this sooner?!?!!61 year old female refusing to look old…I have tried and paid for sooo many weight loss things. Hired coaches, dietitian gone Keto, Carnivore and just continually gained another 10 lbs with each passing decade. In 2020 I was diagnosed with breast cancer had a double mastectomy and went on hormone blockers to block my estrogen. So now I was faced with not only additional weight gain but also joint pain.
