✓ Needs more contentIt’s an incredible idea but I’d like a slower approach the combat takes allot of managing and causes you to ignore all other aspects I’d like to see better combat in assigning troops to fight over an area and enemy units to retreat to enemy territory not to the area I have had blocked off also give us control of air strikes drone strikes ect ect so we can deploy them when we see fit it’s a brilliant game but I feel the combat needs to be slower better managed and better balanced but that’s just my take apart from that I understand it’s still in development so no hate from me it’s an awesome game.AlphawolfxXxVersion: 1.0.2

✓ Great game, but some suggestions:At this point, Intel of a region pretty much only limits if it can be stabilised, if troops can support other troops, and prevent insurgents from escaping. Playing on Brutal, early game the AI likes to spawn a ton of insurgent camps in the middle of your territory, where it’s full intel. But it doesn’t reveal them- and that’s really, really frustrating. I suggest that insurgent bases be revealed when they spawn in a region with full intel, because the game can quickly turn your 20 stabilised regions into a two front war zone..MaorisheepVersion: 1.1

✓ Great, but needs some fixing.I have been playing this game for a little while now, and was really impressed with it. It’s complex, fun and satisfying to play. I haven’t been able to stop. But I have noticed a couple of small things. First of all, game is a bit vague in explaining how to increase reputation throughout the game. Especially with such a steep learning curve (my second point), there is no sure fire way to help increase your reputation. There’s nothing to buy that really helps. It seems that you have to be extremely forward thinking early on to increase it as much as you can before losing about half by the end of the game. And this is made worse by the fact the the difficult jump from casual to normal mode is far too high.i can only imaging what brutal is like. The learning curve should be a lot steeper in my opinion. ✓ A good successor, and in its own rightI’ve loved the Plague game for many years, but got used to playing it on mega-brutal. This is far more complex and consequently takes a bit longer to get used to and understand. But the level of detail is quite phenomenal, so much so that you wonder if it isn’t commissioned by a government to game out COIN strategies. As a strategy game fan, this is great, albeit complex. As someone with a passing interest in COIN, this is really good and a great training tool. ✓ Fun butThis game is good, it’s got enough difficult to keep you engaged and enough variation to be replayed over and over but the insurgency is completely broken, they appear far to quickly and start overrunning your provinces, to contain them you pump out military groups which means you neglect the other stability projects, that issue in of itself is manageable what isn’t manageable is that even if your taking territory and rapidly defeating them everywhere you’ll still lose reputation and eventually lose which doesn’t make sense if your winning against the insurgency the population of the region wouldn’t hate you and nor would the command or politicians overseeing the operation, the amount of reputation lost doesn’t make sense and should be lowered as well as the insurgency spawn rate just to make it manageable and recoverable..Bobsder the lobstersVersion: 1.4.5

✓ Well-designed strategy gameThis game is very fun and has quite a lot of depth to it. Beating the main maps on brutal or mega-brutal requires a healthy understanding of the games systems, but often also a lot of good RNG. You'll eventually stumble into Pravus' standard build that, with limited exceptions, is required in order to win on mega-brutal. There are simply some advisors that are better than others and some initiatives that are more broadly necessary than others. So eventually games all start feeling relatively the same, but there is a lot of improvisation that you'll have to do in your exact build path in order to respond to the particular map you're playing and the rng you're getting. The maps and governors are not particularly balanced, in that some maps are easy to beat with any governor even on the mega-brutal and others are nigh impossible to beat with any governor without perfect rng. Governors like the General and the Tank Commander are also very obviously significantly worse than others like the Smuggler. These balancing issues and many RNG-dependent systems are my main complaints, but overall the game is great and offers a lot of value for a phone game..TruckingsamvegaVersion: 1.10.2

I'm reading the negative reviews and the things that are being complained about are actually the reasons why I like the game so much. It's not a run-of-the-mill strategy game, not a war game, not a building game. It is exactly what it should be, representing the struggle of trying to stabilize a region after it has been devastated. People are complaining saying "If you invest in the military you can't pay for civilian improvements! If you pay off corruption, you can't afford to fight off the insurgents!" To all these things, I say, yes that's how it is! That's what it's like, trying to stabilize a region. It's reality. That's what makes it uniquely challenging. It isn't impossible, it's just difficult to balance priorities. Every move has to be done carefully, every dollar has to be spent wisely. There's a unique strategy to this game, and it requires learning a sense of balance in order to win. I really dig it. The game needs to explain how to deal with the loss of reputation and it should explain more clearly how to stabilise zones. In my opinion the insurgents (the enemy) should not just keep on running away every time you take over a zone but they should be exterminated after some. I am not saying that the insurgents should not run away but I think that after some time and some running away they should be exterminated. I also think that your soldiers can lose battles and therefore they die and you lose them the same goes for insurgents. There is really one thing I don’t like about the game it’s that when you put troops in a zone if you haven’t scouted that zone already your troops wont help neighboring zones fight which is kind of anoying. Some suggestions for future updates (although I know you already have great ones planned) it would be cool if we could play as the underpowered rebels and try to either get the best peace deal possible or just take over. And it would be neat to see more types of military troops maybe like dogs that sniff out and tell you where the next zone to be attacked is or some riot control that contain insergunts until you can send in real troops to wipe em out. ✓ It’s Pretty NeatThis game is the combination between Plague inc. (which was developed by the same guys) and Civilisation. The thing is that the game takes place over custom made maps, so it isn’t as task labouring as ‘taking over the whole world’. This is basically the tiny things that could happen in Civ if the people in your towns and cities decided to overthrow you from your constant bad decision making, except it takes a lot less time. ✓ Fun gameThe many things you have to manage makes it feel like a more I. Depth The Dictator game but actually seeing your success and failures on a map. A cool idea is more types of units. If you get enough reputation more and more blue soldiers (blue soldiers are better but not native in the city so the occupied do not like them, and green ones are native there and receive much less hate from the occupied) to come. For the insurgence they should get black soldiers (there is a chance that outside countries can help the insurgence but it only makes them harder) that are more elite and would spawn on the map. A problem is a lack of role play. If I want to play as an authoritarianship I should be able to march soldiers faster which will hurt reputation as well as having faster national soldier training times and more of them too. To deal with that you could threaten journalists to lie about you or occupy urban areas to stop corruption..GoneTogueVersion: 1.2

✓ Great Game - One FlawThis game is very well put together and great fun to play, however there’s a small flaw that unfortunately makes it next to impossible to control insurgents; their ability to retreat to adjacent zones that soldiers have been moved from to combat them. I appreciate that it may be technically possible for them to do this, but it makes forming a front against insurgent held territory extremely difficult, something that is required in order to prevent excessive military spending and the resultant collapse in stability due to lack of civilian initiative funding. I find a lot of my games on brutal difficulty end in defeat as a result of this, effectively rendering any strategic effort totally pointless and encouraging me to not bother playing the game as much. If the likelihood of this mechanic occurring could be reduced somewhat it would make the game a lot more fun to play..SomeskiVersion: 1.3.3

✓ Rebel Inc is AMAZINGWhen I was playing Plague Inc. I always wanted to have a game built similar to plague Inc but more military based. REBEL INC has SMASHED my expectations. Mixing geopolitics, with a nation ravaged by war you must do what you must in order to rebuild this unnamed nation while having to deal with insurgency movements to corruption and keeping your project’s reputation high. The only thing that I would nitpick is that when you have to train your own soldiers rather than use coalition soldiers the training time is too long and there is at least for me no way to speed up there training while coalition soldiers are ready to be deployed 3 seconds after you've requested them. Also, I really want to see a Scenario Creator with this just like what happened with Plague. Inc But I still love Rebel. Inc the geopolitical cousin of Plague. Inc.AlliedCommanderVersion: 1.2.2

✓ MultiplayerI know this wasn’t meant to be multiplayer, and probably won’t but just think... I believe this would be so much better with multiplayer, make a bigger map and allow a player to play insurgents, and the other to play normal. They need to focus on defending their territories and attacking each other, all while upgrading zones and techs. One might focus on attacking, not economy so the other player will have to be more defensive but will have a better economy. So much potential in my opinion! However, once you get how this game works then you might be able to beat normal MAYBE! I am about two-thirds of the way to beating every map on normal and was three-fifths of the way before the sixth map came in the third major update. ✓ Very Good But Also LudicrousI've been playing Rebel Inc. nearly since the day it was released and I haven't stopped playing it. It's a very good and innovative game with a high replay value. Concept, graphics and sounds are superb. You will be challenged, defeated and eventually hear yourself curse. This game takes time to master. A lot of time... I have completed all maps with all governors on Brutal mode. Currently on Mega Brutal mode, but it feels like the Ndemic devs or James Vaughan was that annoying kid that always tries to devise last minute super powers to outclass yours. Mega Brutal mode is so made up that it stops being fun. E.g. You have all, I repeat, ALL Civilian, Government and Military initiatives. Support level is high, Inflation and Corruption almost none. Stability at 96% Reputation over 70. You have insurgents surrounded on one side. Out of nowhere, insurgents appear on the other side of the map and you're left off chasing them until you direct them towards the other surrounded insurgents, a corner or simply wait for the Peace agreement. My point is, Brutal mode was fun because it actually made you think and followed some real world rules. Mega Brutal makes no sense even after you've won..RaM SiXVersion: 1.8.0

✓ Great butLet me start straight away the game is great but once You’ve completed the first levels it’s kinda boring a good thing to add would be playing as the insurgence also being able to have an air support unit like a helicopter to hover over a zone for a set amount of time that doesn’t allow insurgents to leave that zone and kills them if they attempt to. I know they have air strikes but they are ineffective at most also when coalition units need to be redeployed instead of losing that unit forever you wait say a year and then you train them again but they would be a bit weaker so you don’t just run out of units and also why do international soldiers take longer to train but are weaker and only good at supporting coalitions unless you have the general and upgrade them. Also custom levels thanks hope you reply. ✓ Challenging, in a great waySo far I have loved playing this, already put over 5 hours into this game. I played Plague Inc. for a long time and I can say this can and will be a better version of it, I love the extra depth they’ve added, whether it’s negotiating peace relations, interacting with your coalition and such. It’s also very challenging because the enemy can be very brutal even in normal mode, which can take a lot of time testing the abilities and understanding how to use your military with just the right timing. I personally feel like the enemies toughness could need a little lightening up but you don’t want to lose the challenge either. It can be very satisfying when you finally destroy the insurgents. Lastly, the tutorial and tips are very good, I would just ask that you help us understand the peace process a little better and how to end the game. Thank you for a great follow up! However, the system for which you acquire maps is, putting it simply, inneficient. I am trying to unlock map 3, but being forced to use my newly acquired character (I've forgotten the name/term - the one where you start with a yearly budget) and subsequently being forced to adjust to a new play style and strategy is making it incredibly hard to progress. If I could use the Civil Servant to get map 3, I would feel much more motivated to play the game as progress would be faster and, therefore, more satisfying. ✓ Good, but *nearly* impossible to completeDon’t get me wrong, I love the devs, but this one needs some work. Brutal is impossibly hard to win on. I feel like it’s Mega Brutal from Plague Inc on steroids. The insurgency is too hard to fight, you can’t stabilize any areas before you run out of reputation, and that penalty is WAY too high. This is on the first map, by the way. I got all governors except the bonus by playing on normal on all maps, and I went back to the first to try brutal out. This means that I’ve done most of what the game actually has to offer in terms of unlocking things. ✓ Fun game, couple changes could make it betterThis game is very fun and engaging for a mobile game. However I must say that some mechanics in the game are very challenging to deal with and make some matches next to impossible to win. Any match that only allows coalition soldiers is beyond frustrating to deal with since they only have a limited deployment time before being sent home and no reputation can survive more than a few deployment extensions. I find this quite unrealistic considering that I will be engaged in very heavy fighting and suddenly have no choice but to send a unit home, losing reputation from that zone being “retreated from” and now being down one more unit. I know for a fact the United States didn’t pull its troops out randomly when they were needed the most until 2021 when that changed. The other questionable mechanic is the fact that you can have 4 units surrounding an insurgent pocket and yet somehow they can still slip away through the one uncovered zone. I get that insurgents can be very resilient and sneaky, however I think there should still be a chance all are eliminated considering the overwhelming force around them. One more frustrating thing is when you will secure a zone and then randomly the 300 insurgents out of a 20k population zone with thousands supporting the operation somehow establish a camp, forcing resources to be diverted. ✓ Good Game, nerf insurgentsThe game is extremely well polished, the design is simple and strong. But the insurgents are way too powerful. When I block out insurgents from escaping and have another unit destroying them they push on my blocking units. Once they get repelled the insurgents don’t go back to where they came from, they just walk through my troops like nothing happened. Also, it is extremely annoying (and unfair) that once I stop insurgents in one area and make sure for the red goes away I relocate my troops to stop the next insurgents, 5 seconds later they just reappear at the area I just cleared. And now my reputation is down halfway. Also, the mountain map’s descriptions says that the only way around is through the valley, a whole bunch of lies. The game would be more interesting if you can’t travel through mountains (neither can insurgents) So the choke point would actually be important to take, the mountains are a huge pain to deal with. This time around is more like fighting off the infection rather than causing it. Really enjoyed the various mechanics of the campaign to improve the board, make my soldiers better, and reduce insurgents. Felt like there was a meaningful balance between trying to make improvements while limiting outside influences and corruption. There are elements that feel in place just to slow progress that I felt could be improved. It would be nice to have more focus on intelligence in the campaign as ways to reduce insurgency movements. This was my biggest complaint (and not that bad, more of just a gripe). If there was a way to predict and then counter insurgents movements to better my combat that would make the game better. My one complaint is that it is much more difficult than plague inc simply because it’s harder to predict what’s going to happen. For example, rebels may often spawn in random tiles, but then rebellions occur in tiles that aren’t even connected. I really did like the campaign since how different events that can play out, but also how challenging it is, because how the insurgents will develop tactics. My recent one I had to deal with was combat network, and split and run. Combat network isn’t a big deal when you have garrisons, airstrikes, and drones combined with combat sensors. While split and run was annoying to me, I just funded the local militias early on to make sure they be killed off, and use the police too. But anyway I’m still learning just for fun, because this game was engaging to me, anyway I won’t bother you much, I really did enjoy this game. ✓ Love this GameIf you like strategy and civilization rpg games, this is worth every penny. Games run about 30 minutes (faster if you lose), and I am engrossed for every last one of those minutes. It’s one of the few iPhone games I own where I am literally on the edge of my seat while playing. Gameplay involves balancing spending funds on policies that benefit civilians while guarding against inflation, corruption and constant pressure from insurgent militia. The game is partially strategic spending/planning and partially organizing soldiers on the regional map to quell insurgents. Poor choices, excessive corruption/inflation or becoming overrun by insurgents reduce your reputation. You win when the entire region is stabilized before your reputation hits zero. This is a difficult game and, at any moment, the region can spiral out of control. Learning it is a real joy as you’re forced to grapple with some real life decisions where the morally “right” answer might cause more problems than a messy compromise. The game’s economy is pretty well balanced too and I constantly find myself wanting to buy two or three upgrades, but only having the money for one. It forces you to prioritize, which is really the meat of the game. The push and pull between the military affairs in the war and the civilian “hearts and minds” is excellently captured, as committing too much to one of the other will result in a mission loss from the other. It’s all about striking the right balance. That being said, there is an optimal build/tactic order in the game, and once you figure it out, the game becomes relatively trivial even on the hardest difficulty. The game is fun and, at times, tense, whilst trying to balance a very limited budget between Civilian, Government and Military factors, whilst dealing with an insurgency, corruption and support. Trying to maintain all of the factors is tough! As the game progresses, new maps and new leaders are unlocked, with each map providing a new challenge in terms of development or terrain. Sadly, there aren’t very many maps, and even replaying the maps with the newly unlocked characters gets boring after a while. Cheats can be bought which slightly prolongs the fun, but not for very long. Hopefully in the future, we may see some new maps added with DLC’s, or updates. ✓ GOTY 2018Rebel Inc is a phenomenal game, for its exploration of the complexities and nuances of political decisions, management of infrastructure, all while conducting a civil war. There is a lot going on, but it never feels overwhelming thank to an intuitive interface, and an integrated tutorial system that highlights mechanics with well timed prompts during gameplay. On top of being a great game, Rebel Inc. allows the player a more involved and realistic insight into the realities faced by many government bodies in the world today. Many of these third world countries, especially those with war-devastated infrastructure find themselves in a tight position between first world powers with conflicting interests, the exploitation from first world industrial powers with interest in raw materials, and the crippling consequences that come with failed loans from the World Bank. I hope that, as the game expands, that it will delve further into these complex issues. With the additions made in the latest update, I see that beginning to happen already. ✓ Wow, nice!I love this game... almost perfect...I’m sure it one day will be. it covers many aspects that I look for in a game and it is interesting. I would love to see a wider variety of political choices to make as you progress through a game. The game can get repetitive... so I think a variety of missions would be great, I would also like so see that you could choose which areas to air strike, build garrisons etc rather than it being random. I think the option to have more types of soldiers, helicopters, tanks etc would also be welcome... but with that said, the game is awesome and well worth the price tag. ✓ A good mobile gameA nice blend of management and strategy managing policies and watching them roll out can be pretty satisfying. The price seems very fair considering you actually get a full game with no adverts and what purchases you can make seem to be cheats or the ability to skip content which is down to the player. The combat is a nice addition to the plague inc style complimenting the management nicely. ✓ Combat is rough.I’ve grown quite fond of this game over time and I enjoy it quite a bit, although some of the aspects seem rough around the edges the game over all is challenging and fun. As for the combat, the insurgents don’t ever seem to take casualties, when they do it seems like a dice rolls and it’s inconsistent. The camps keep producing insurgent strength unless destroyed, this wouldn’t be a problem if you had a way of actually killing the insurgents with out surrounding them, even then, the insurgents sometimes seem to just charge through the surrounding areas that you have troops or garrisons in, the game teaches you in the tutorial that the only way to kill the insurgents is to surround them. Though this is a minor critique and a small issue with the game. But I would like to say that it can be extremely difficult and I sometimes find it hard to win even on the lowest difficulty, I know this could be just because I am not good at the game. ✓ EngagingVery obvious after a few minutes that this is very similar in play-style to Plague Inc. but that’s no bad thing as long as you were into the much lauder forebear to this title. It’s not just a re-skin though; some nice decision-making and tactical flourishes have been built-in to enhance gameplay and the narrowed and varied maps make for a more intense experience. The art-style and design are not quite as snappy as the games predecessor but the interface is still very nicely done.
