Sagrada for Positive User Reviews

Beautiful game, one small bugLove this game sooo much! It’s stunning, very calming, very fun strategy game. The only thing I noticed, at the end of the game during scoring, it only ever adds the first three objectives, and never adds the fourth, always saying I’m losing - but I’m not (some of the time) perhaps there’s a rule I missed, but I saw someone else mention this in their review. Would love for that to get fixed!.Version: 1.4.4

Beautiful gameI was introduced to this application during a team game night, and I’ve been addicted since. This game challenges me, frustrates me, and soothes me. The most fun puzzle game I’ve played in a minute. I love opening the app and hearing the music as I start my game. The ambient sounds softly chiming as you navigate through colors and values brings joy to my day. I look forward to the daily challenge and sharpening my skills on Solo Play. By the next team game night, I will be ready. And I will win..Version: 1.4.0

Enjoyable with some small issuesI have been enjoying playing this game very much! My friend lives about 5 hours away and yet we both play it as the day winds down nearly every evening. The few bugs I’ve noticed have been lag related (I think) 1- when the game tells me I have a game waiting and ‘would I like to go to that game now?’ I click yes and nothing happens. I can click yes 15 times and still nada. I have to click no, exit back to the main menu, go to my games and then open it from there. 2- sometimes the bouncy die goes on for much longer than I believe it’s supposed to. It’s fun to watch in the beginning as you’re waiting for your game to load but it grows tiresome quickly. I’ve had to close out the game and open it again to get the board to load faster. Also my friend and I have found some of the game objectives tedious. When I play versus the A.I. or play the campaign there is a good variety in the objectives. But when I play my friend sometimes we will get all numbers and sometimes all colors. We rarely get the chance to enjoy the diversity from Sagrada multiple objective pool. All that being said the game is lovely to play. The colors and windows are beautiful and I enjoy playing the game in one fashion or another nearly every day. Thanks for reading..Version: 1.3.10

Perfect digital version of SagradaI own the board game and expansions. This is an excellent digital version of the game. Colours are bright, the sounds are lovely. The tutorial is brilliant..Version: 1.3.0

Well worth buyingI have the board game of Sagrada and love it. This is a faithful representation of it in an app and allows my other-half and I to play side by side on the sofa..Version: 1.2.4

Love the app. One issue. It really is a fine adaptation of the game. I have become frustrated when trying to use a tool only to have the game freeze at that point. Now THAT is maddening. I have a new iPad, so I’m confident that’s not the issue. Hoping this gets fixed. Then it’s a 5 star rating for sure!.Version: 1.3.11

Incredible!I was excited to learn an app version of Sagrada would be offered to the US a month or so ago. The app is every bit of what I expected and more! It took an incredible, and beautiful board game and kept all the components just as beautiful. The game plays very smoothly with no issues. There is a campaign, vs AI, and online multiplayer mode! The iOS version offers Game Center achievements as well. What more could you ask for? An amazing game now just at our fingertips. 5 stars! Bravo!.Version: 1.2.2

Great with only a few snagsLove the game and it does a great job of bringing the gameplay of the original to digital. Anyone who likes Sagrada will love this version. My only complaint is maybe one bug and a usability issue. The bug is inviting a friend. You can’t. If you enter their email address to ask them to play the instructions say it will send an invite with a link to the game to download it. When you do so it says the person isn’t registered. Isn’t the point to invite unregistered people? If they are registered they’d probably have the game already. This was disappointing. Also the turns can be a little fiddly because when you use one of the cards that allows you to change your dice or placement it can be unclear what to do next. Same when ending turn. It isn’t bad just could be better Buy it you won’t regret it..Version: 1.4.4

Better than board game versionI actually prefer this to the physical game. Get it! So chill..Version: 1.4.4

Dire Wolf Digital Does it Again!I have loved Dire Wolf Digital games since Lotus. Last two releases Yellow & Yangtze and Raiders of the North Sea were Amazing. But I wasn’t sure I’d like this one ~ digital dice games have been iffy to date. But I’m so glad I tried it - it is So Much Fun! Very relaxing too. Simpler than those last 2 games but really enjoyable. Only wish would be to spice up the graphics even more to Y&Y and Raiders level, super shiny and awe inspiring, this being Cathedral stained glass windows after all! Keep the hits coming Dire Wolf!.Version: 1.3.0

Beautiful but slowI’m a huge fan of Sagrada the board game so was hyped to see a digital version had been released. The game itself doesn’t disappoint with beautiful graphics, easy to understand tool explanations, excellent sound effects and handy reminders of the goals. However the online functionality has a way to go in my eyes. Connecting / loading takes an age and is a little buggy. The only way to play a satisfactory game is all in one go. If you pop in and out of the app to text the friend you are playing (there’s no in game chat) then it takes forever to load back in. The only other minor gripe is it’s almost impossible to swap between player boards between turns, like it’s almost designed not to be an option but is if you drag hard enough. All in all a great effort but a little way off a perfect 5..Version: 1.2.3

Lovely game!Great implementation, very playable. Note: Initially it seemed to have a bug where I could not actually select any dice - instead the “magnifying glass” loupe mode is permanently stuck as on. This bug comes up every so often still but I just kill and restart the game and then it goes away..Version: 1.4.0

Great, especially if already played the tabletop versionEnjoy playing this as a solo option when I can’t play the table top board game Sagrada with friends..Version: 1.3.1

Fun and beautifulI love playing this game. The colors are beautiful, the music is nice. The strategy is fun. I hope you will add more to the campaign as I’ve already completed all of the levels with three stars. Also, the achievements section isn’t showing that I’ve completed a few of the campaign levels - not sure why that is..Version: 1.2.4

Amazing graphics, a pleasure to playI was given the board game for my birthday, but in French, so I found it difficult to understand. This digital version is beautifully created, and the game plays well. Good tutorial, it has helped me understand better, especially the various tool cards..Version: 1.0.2

Good job!Very happy to update my review. Had an issue with game not loading out of the blue. Not only was the issue fixed in about 1 day, the developer responded to my negative review. If only all developers had the level of concern for their customers. I look forward to your next game release. Hoping for the Sagrada Passion version to be released next..Version: 1.3.1

GoodGood.Version: 1.4.4

Really Good Port!I think it’s a really good version of the game. If you like the board game, I think you will like this as well. Handy to have when you want to play but are not in a position where you can play the actual board game. Customer support also responded very quickly and was very helpful when I reported an issue. 🙂.Version: 1.3.0

BugsCant play games with friends since update.Version: 1.4.3

Really beautiful game!I’ve seen the physical version of this game many times but had no idea how it was. I really enjoy this digital representation. One side note: This last update seems to have an issue where if your password isn’t correct it won’t give you an “incorrect password” error. It will simply mention the client might be out of date..Version: 1.3.1

Fun game, app has some issuesThe game itself is very fun, and I enjoy playing it a lot. I love that I can play the daily challenges by myself, and a regular game with my friends. I have noticed a couple issues/annoyances so far, that make it slightly frustrating to play - Inability to see history of scores/boards. It’s very frustrating to have a game end with friends, and not be able to go back and see the score after it’s complete. Even upon clicking notification that the game is complete, it does not bring me to the closing/scoring sequence. The game will freeze sometimes for 15-20 seconds, usually in daily challenge mode. If you leave a daily challenge (even just close the app) it will disconnect and you lose your progress. Not a huge deal, but this counts towards your 5 games for the leaderboard. General lagging when connecting to an ongoing game with friends, there seems to be a disconnect with clicking a notification and the app opening the game itself..Version: 1.4.4

Completely blown away! This is the new benchmark for what a board game app can be. Terrific implementation and this game is simply perfect for the phone..Version: 1.0.0

Pretty awesomeSo I had never heard of this game before (and I don’t recall how I found it on the App Store) but it’s a wonderful game. As a new player, some of the finer aspects of the game eluded me at first. For instance, for the life of me I couldn’t understand how to satisfy the shade and color variety goal cards. I figured it out with a google search—so no harm no foul—but the tutorial probably could have done a better job. This review is mainly addressing the new Solo mode of play—I take issue with being scored against the value of dice left in the round track. It makes the game arbitrarily difficult and makes low and medium goal cards particularly annoying. Is there a good reason for choosing the round track total as the score you want to beat? (That's not a rhetorical question, I'm actually asking.) I also wish that in solo mode you could pick specific tool cards so that you could practice your skills individually. Other than all that, this a great game and well worth the cost..Version: 1.3.1

Wonderful adaptation of a great gameIn terms of quality and presentation, this is one of the best digital adaptations of a board game I have seen, right alongside TheCodingMonkeys’ versions of Lost Cities and Carcassonne. I had not played Sagrada before playing this app, and I enjoyed it so much, I purchased the board game as well..Version: 1.3.0

Good game, decent implementationThe game is fun, if you like that sort of thing. The implementation is beautiful in design and dodgy in technical quality. Online mode technically works but can be buggy, causing disconnects, and the lobby system is barebones and relies on a secondary app to handle any lobby chatting you may want to do. Daily challenge is a nice feature but bugs have often spent my limited attempts on app crashes or disconnects. All this said, when it works, which is most of the time, it’s a nice addition to any app library..Version: 1.4.0

GreatI have enjoyed getting this app to help me understand how to better play and score the physical board game..Version: 1.3.6

Love this gameThis is an amazing app for a fantastic game. Love it so much. Wish the app translated your finished frames into stained glass windows of different shades based on the dice value. That would be so cool!.Version: 1.4.0

Brilliant and beautifulGreat effort, fantastic game..Version: 1.2.2

A great adaptation of the board game, with one annoying thingGame works pretty flawlessly for the most part. Great visuals and overall the game is simple and addictive. Aside from random disconnects to the server(which are annoying due to it force “resigning” you) I haven’t run into anything major. My biggest beef(and also an issue I have with the physical version) is how punishing the Solo game can be. I am unsure if this was fixed in future expansions, but the target scores you need to get to win are near impossible to achieve. Needing to not only sacrifice a die to use a tool, but said tool is only usable once per game is a bit too punishing. Not to mention only benefit from one of your private objectives really limits the player. I understand these are the rules as written, but if expansions managed to fix this, I’d love for them to be added in future updates. Overall the game is great, but I tend to favor solo play when I can in most board game apps. Bummer it isn’t less punishing..Version: 1.4.0

Enjoyable puzzle but solo mode scoring bugBeen enjoying this game since I recently found it, but the solo mode scoring seems flawed. I’ve only played one game but it definitely didn’t score one of my criteria/objectives that round (points on blue die). It just ignored it like it wasn’t being used. I’ve only played one game of the solo mode, but wanted to mention this now I found it. The scoring has been fine in the tutorial, and online daily challenge (will try the vs AI game and multiplayer soon)..Version: 1.4.4

Good easy game to learnGood implementation of the board game but needs some expansion pacs for that bit more variety, especially on the private objectives..Version: 1.3.10

Solo Mode Target Score is ImpossibleI love the game and it all flows beautifully. But the “Target Score” that is needed to win on the Solo mode is impossible to get. And I don’t mean it’s just hard, but often literally impossible. Even when I have a really good game and achieve a lot of the bonuses, I’m lucky to make it half way to the suggested Target score. It’s pretty discouraging. Again, I enjoy the game and the app works great, but a easy fix to make the solo mode Target scores lower would be appreciated..Version: 1.4.4

True to originalLovely relaxing tile game that has surprising depth.Version: 1.4.4

Fun game with no real issuesGame is well implemented with smooth graphics and easy to understand tutorials/prompts. Highly enjoyable game with a good amount of strategy. Easy enough to teach to those who don’t play a lot of board/card games..Version: 1.3.6

Amazing adaptationThis is exactly what I want when it comes to making board games into apps. The UI is super intuitive and visuals are excellent. My one bit of feedback is I would like to see the end scoring separated out to better see where my opponents and I scored for our private and each public objective. The scoring happens so quick at the end that you barely have a chance to see what you ended up with for the objectives. A stats button below view windows that takes you to each players’ scoring stats would be awesome. Thank you for making an awesome board game into an amazing phone game!.Version: 1.4.0

Generally great adaptation with an occasional glitchOccasionally, one of the tools will not work appropriately which is frustrating but generally a well done and beautiful adaptation of a great strategy game. My monthly game night has been relegated to online during the current times so I’m glad we have a new game that all four of us like online!.Version: 1.3.6

Great gameI like it and play it all night.Version: 1.4.0

Game good, offline missingPlease make it possible to play the well done game offline. Should not need a connection to play a solo. Update: solo problem fixed in less than week. Excellent implementation. Great customer service. It is a goto game when passing my time..Version: 1.4.4

Beautiful, excellent game!I had never heard of this game before finding it on the App Store. The developers nailed it! This is the best and most enjoyable dice game I’ve ever played. Absolutely gorgeous to look at, the design is beautiful. The tutorial is well done and the gameplay is intuitive. It’s challenging but in a fun way, it’s not frustrating. I’m happy to support a developer that monetizes with a fair premium price and no pay to win craziness. This is now one of my favorite phone games. Thank you developers!.Version: 1.3.0

New FavoriteI have been enjoying this game a lot. I just downloaded the update with Solo Play. The game has been freezing when trying to use a tool. Otherwise, I like the graphics, the length of the game, the ability to play alone or with others. Good balance of strategy and luck. The AI isn’t too predictable as with some other games..Version: 1.3.1

What a beautiful and intuitive version! So polished, nearly bug-free. Takes a little getting used to in regards to utilizing the tools shared by all players but I can’t think of a better way to implement that piece of the game from a UI/UX standpoint... it’s a tough and varied series of game mechanics and they did an admirable job implementing it. There are some amazing iOS board game ports and I’ve probably downloaded 30-40 of them. This is is pretty comfortably in my Top 5 in terms of how well they implemented the base game and just how faithfully reproduced and highly polished it is. NICE WORK, TEAM!.Version: 1.2.3

Really goodFaithful implementation of the physical game that looks great. Can seem a little sluggish at times, not sure why. After a number of plays you realise that the games sort of comes down to how lucky you are, especially for the last couple of rolls, but that’s down to game design. Would be cool if the daily challenge mode could allow you to see the finished boards of other players. Some of the scores posted are really high and it would be nice to see how they were achieved. Or even to option to replay the games - were they mostly lucky dice rolls or was there some strategy used?.Version: 1.4.0

ExcellentOne of my favourite board games, and the app doesn’t disappoint..Version: 1.2.3

Excellent app of a great board gameSagrada looks great. Nice animation and graphic design. Easy to play and follow the rules. Good selection of solo and multiplayer modes. My only criticism is scoring in the solo mode. Trying to beat the Target Scores is impossible. Several times while playing the Target Scores did not seem beatable following the game scoring rules. Target Scores should be more realistic..Version: 1.4.4

Great app but solo mode seems to have a bugI play this pretty much every day and overall it is a great app. However on solo mode I keep getting goals for (sum of all dice of a colour) for 2 different colours, but when it calculates the completed window it only adds up the sum of the dice for one colour. The target value for the total completed window is too high for this not to be a bug, there’s no way the target could be reached with only 3 of the 4 goals being counted..Version: 1.4.4

Great gameI love this game really addictive and a good job done by the developer. Great game..Version: 1.4.0

Almost perfect. This digital adaption of the game is spot on. Definitely worth the cost considering normal board game version retails for $40. The AI has a little bit to be desired in terms of difficulty. I watched them use one of the in-game tools on the 2nd turn when it was unnecessary to do so. I don’t have to pay attention to their boards and can win nearly 100% of the time - by a pretty wide margin. However the real draw of this game is to play with friends and family online. Given the current events this is a welcome escape. It would be great to add simple emotes/premade comments to encourage/taunt opponents. This is one of my favorite strategy games. Enough strategy and an appropriate amount of disruption to keep if fun without being frustrating..Version: 1.3.0

Fantastic game for both solo and multi-playerBeen wanting to try this game on Tabletop but with shelter in place, great opportunity to try the app instead. Great tutorial mode and the AI is a fantastic solo experience. Playing with remote player works well, but the two turns within a round lends itself more to synchronous play than over long stretches. Games are quick so a great way to spend 15 minutes if you have sudden free time..Version: 1.3.1

Excellent GameI’ve got the board game which I love and this app version doesn’t disappoint. Very well executed and certainly worth buying..Version: 1.2.2

Sagrada 1.4.3 update games stuckI have two games that are stuck in limbo since update. Each game with different user in their turn doesn’t allow you to select a die or a “tool” to use. Any way to revert back? I did try to resign a game and it wouldn’t even allow that. Is my only recourse to delete app and reinstall?.Version: 1.4.3

SlickSlick app, has a lot of ways to play. Game can be kinda slow against 3 AI but otherwise pretty good. Haven’t tried multiplayer. Don’t know how much legs the game design has but if you preset like the boardgame you can’t go wrong..Version: 1.4.4

Great game appVery well done UI for an entertaining dice game that I did not know about. Great job by the developers who have done some great game apps! More private goals would be a welcome extension. Also, the game heats up the battery and runs through it fast; the developers should seek to address this..Version: 1.2.4

Glitchy but worth it!A decent implementation of my favourite board game. The graphic design is good with everything you need visible on one screen and an intuitive interface. Playing solo or against an AI is best. Pass and play is an option but there is no way to hide your personal goal so you have to keep the screen private on your turn and be careful about when you pass, which is fine but unnecessary. Online play is also an option but there are still many bugs. About 3/4 of the live games I’ve started don’t finish and just disappear without telling you why. And casual turn based online play is fairly slow cause the app fully reloads almost every time you reopen it. Still a great app and a great game, and I hope work is still being done on these aspects I emailed DireWolf directly with these issues and only received a “we passed your report on” in response. No further update after 6 weeks..Version: 1.3.0

Great adaptation- accessibility could be improvedA faithful adaptation of the board game and a great way to learn and practice your strategy against the AI. My only criticism is that the color-blind mode isn’t that helpful. It applies patterns to the dice, which is nice, but not to the colored spaces on the game board. The placement aides work when those colored spaces are available, but it’s hard to plan ahead when they aren’t and you can’t tell the differences between some of them and your dice. An option to apply patterns to the game board spaces would be helpful, or to change out the color options as other games have done would also be an improvement. Oddly enough, this is only an issue with this digital version. I don’t have any color issues with the physical board game. All in all, a fun game though!.Version: 1.3.11

Excellent portGreat app version of a great game..Version: 1.3.6

Needs Landscape modeI’ll bump this to 5-star when landscape mode is available. Publisher hasn’t responded to feedback to add this view to iOS like they have in Nintendo Switch. This request is more so for iPad’s and iPad Pros. The default portrait mode is fine on iPhone. Everything else is beautiful and this is a great adaption. (edit: Developer just responded so I’ll bump this to 4 star. 5 when/if landscape comes to the app. But I think 5 star is appropriate for the iPhone version.).Version: 1.3.11

A great adaptation of the board gameI love the game Sagrada, so I was excited to hear that it was coming to the digital realm. It’s such a beautiful game to play and it captures the feel and theme of the board game. The AI could be a bit more challenging, but honestly it’s not the score that keeps me playing, it’s the puzzle of how I can best used the dice I have. If you like the original board game, there is a good chance you will like this also. If you have never played the physical game, fear not, there is a great tutorial that will have you up and running in no time. I highly recommend this app..Version: 1.2.3

Great Port of a great board gameI have lots of board games. And lots of the apps for those games. This is the best digital copy of a game I own. Great job to the devs..Version: 1.0.2

Fun but limited gameplayI really love this game!! It’s my absolute favorite board game and now I’m addicted to this version. However it only gets 4 stars because of the insanely small number of tool cards and public objectives. The board game has so many really fun and challenging ones, this app is wildly repetitive in comparison. If they add more it’ll be a 5 star game hand down!.Version: 1.3.11
