✓ Buggy but very goodSome of the features don’t work, primarily the Valhalla ‘strength’ or Longhouse rewards don’t trigger after you sacrifice a character unless it is an immediate reward like VP but overall the game is a good combination of board game and digital format. The music, small animations are fun and bring the game to life without losing the charm and feel of the actual board game version. I’d like to see more small character animations for other cards like when the female warrior claps her shield as it really brings the character to life. Also please tweak or add more options to undo a choice mid selection or finesse the touchscreen capability as sometimes the app (or maybe it’s iPad/iOS?) selects the wrong item. I also have Root and seriously you guys, digital wolf is the absolute best partner in bringing board games to life online. Now please tweak the perks, and add all the expansions. ;).Version: 1.4.2
✓ With some work, this app could be the best of all board game renditions...The graphics, gameplay and music are outstanding. I have 20+ board game apps and think the quality of this game is off the charts. However, as someone who plays solo practically exclusively, I am disappointed that there is only one difficulty level and it is way too easy. Someone new to the game would probably win on his/her first try. The game is so easy, there is little to no replay-ability solo. This game could be the greatest solo experience if the challenge were there..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Graphically beautiful but one thing missing for me.Having played the cardboard version and knowing the game play was great I was expecting a great App experience. The graphics are great, easy access to rules when you need reminding of things, I love the implementation except for one key thing. Unless I’ve missed something major, the ability to not be able to see the card abilities of my viking home or ship crew to ponder over what to do and make good choices is missing. I can only bring up their abilities when playing a pawn in the appropriate building. This really restricts my tactics..Version: 1.4.1
✓ Pretty disappointedThe game is good and plays very well if you just play solo or campaign. But the online game is a different story. I haven’t been able to finish any online game. It suddenly freezes and the game is over. Very frustrating. This game is not cheap and for that money I expect a product that works and I have fun with. ✓ Game is beautiful but multiplayer is buggyThe game looks and generally plays really well... as long as you're solo. Playing online with friends connected whether through iOS or Steam is sub-optimal. It has crashed on all of us repeatedly and we can't rejoin the active game. It ruins the experience. UPDATE: the developers responded to my review asking me to send an email to their support. I did and the EMAIL FAILED because their domain is offline. Get your act together, Direwolf..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Multiplayer doesn’t workMy friends and I all recently downloaded this game. In trying both multiplayer modes (online and friends) the game fails and never starts. For a friend game, the game never loads when trying to access from the available games list. For online games, we all get kicked out as soon as the host hits start game. The game is basically unplayable except against the AI.Version: 1.4.6
✓ Wish it was betterI love all the North Sea, and west kingdom games. But as an app it’s kind of horrible. Definitely not worth 10$. ✓ Consistently have to relaunchI have played for a few days, and although the game is good, I can’t get over how often I have to crash the game and reopen it because it lagged or froze itself. I would expect this kind of behavior from a free game, but for a paid game it’s quite disappointing..Version: 1.4.0
✓ UI not obviousI discovered by accident that you can see what a card does in your hand or what one of your hired people do by tapping and holding on it. This is not obvious. Why can’t we just click on our cards or on the people we’ve hired to see them all..Version: 1.4.6
✓ Fun, but a few bugsGraphics are nice, game is interesting, but a few bugs are preventing me from loving it. We have had some issues joining games, getting stuck at the main screen, that kind of thing. The most frustrating though is that a couple of times people have gotten kicked out of multiplayer games — flashing antenna icon and AI takes your turn for you, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to rejoin. Frustrating when you are in the middle of the game with friends and suddenly you can’t play anymore. If that stops happening, I will be more fond of the game..Version: 1.4.0

✓ Great digital port, missing basic featuresSo the Shem Phillips and SJ Macdonald games are some of my all time favorites, and so far this seems like a pretty good port. Runs well, great graphics, and fairly intuitive. However, I am surprised this game is missing several basic features that should be standard in any digital board game port. 1. You are unable to chose player color, the game just does it randomly 2. You cannot add AI players to pass and play games. Please realize a major reason to use pass and play is that we are not having an actual game night but still want to play with more than two players. 3. You cannot undo your entire turn. This is a huge faux pas as accidentally hitting something or choosing the wrong card/action is super common in digital board games 4. VP values are not displayed next to tracks (like in the real game). As a consequence you have trouble getting a sense of final scores Please add in these features and easily 5 star port.Version: 1.3.0
✓ Not ReadyVery disappointed. This game shows promise but has too many bugs to justify the 10$. The campaign game works but the cartographer card is glitched. The Local AI games is broken and unplayable. Once the game is stated you can’t pick up your worker to place. Strangely this does work in the tutorials and campaign. ✓ Should be 5 StarsBut it is nigh near impossible to give them feedback. The in-game feedback feature always fails with an error saying you have a problem with your internet connection. And that crashes everything in the game. So I leave it at the error message telling me about my bad net connection and go to my other online games and none of them have any problems accessing my “bad” net connection. Obviously the game does something wrong internally. I went to Renegade games and they had 3 ways to contact them. Twitter, Instagram, and email. I do not participate in either Instagram nor Twitter for personal reasons. That left email. Great. I select it and it brings up a list of email accounts. I select my icloud account and it wants my user is and apple id to login. I am reluctant, but figure I can reset my password once I leave my password, but they try to set up a new icloud account on my ipad which of course fails. I try again and it fails again. Fine. I then use my other email provider, giving them my id and password along with the email’s server name. They can’t connect that way either. Jeimeny Chricket! My final try was a link to the game designer. I thought maybe I could get my feedback to him. But the link was bogus! It went to a non-existent page or a broken link. Thanks Renegade Games! This lack of wanting feedback on their part knocked my review from a 5 to a 3! All this and I never even told you what my feedback about the game was going to be!.Version: 1.4.0

✓ Fun game, but buggy at release.The game itself is enjoyable, but it frequently has issues when trying to pickup workers on my iPad Pro. Additionally, on my device, the game does not fill the entire screen, there is a black border roughly 1/4” wide around the entire screen. This may be the cause of the pickup issue as I have fewer pickup problems when I aim closer to the edge of the screen, as if the game actually filled the whole screen..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Crashed twice half way through the game on both my first 2 gamesI’ve just bought the app with 3 friends and tonight we planned to play online, we started one game, halfway through the game, it crashed, no way to reconnect and shows no active games, 1 hour wasted. ✓ Absolutely incredible implementation, Online Bug breaks itTruly one of the best digital renderings of a game. Personally, Agricola is one of the best if you're looking for reference, as the world isn't just a board, but rather has actual living, moving, life-like breathing rhythm to it. Raiders is just like it, but with better art. The UI is buttery smooth, and pretty intuitive, so great job. (ok digital renderings include: through the ages, which just looks a little clunky, bad includes: scythe, terraforming mars pre-massive update) However, not a 5⭐️ for 1 reason: somehow, a lot of the live games online fall out of sync, up to one player actually being able to finish the game while the other is starting at one player not taking their turn...when in fact, the entire game is occurring. Until they fix this, there's a 50-50 chance you're game is pointless. Considering how social gaming is, and how with iPad you can FaceTime and board game over distance, online play for digital games is really becoming hyper-critical. As soon as you fix this, this app will go in the hall of fame!.Version: 1.3.0

✓ The online is quite buggyGood app probably some of the nicest animation I’ve seen in a board game app and the art style and gameplay have transferred over well. The AI I could do with some balancing sometimes you can beat a bot quite easily and other times that same difficulty will turn around and bite you on half. Online play is very buggy. it crashed three times the first time I played with A friend. A problem setting up a game. two times it froze, one time it said it was my friends turn on my screen and on his screen it said it was my turn. And when the game ended it got stuck in a perpetual loading loop. Needs some debugging.Version: 1.4.0
