New user - only my first day but experiencing some bugsI can’t comment on the app just yet but I do like the simplicity of it. There are definitely some bugs - I have had to kill the app a couple of times this evening (within a 30mins session) because it’s failed to respond. Usually it was after I was asked to rate with stars..Version: 2.85.0

BugJe suis nouvelle et l’app me permet pas écrire ni passer à la prochaine question..Version: 2.103.0

For the money, I want improvementsThe idea is great and the app has strengths but I hate that at the check-in, it only gives you like 9 words to choose from to describe how you are feeling and there isn’t even an “other” option. It doesn’t put me in the right headspace when I can’t even accurately describe how I’m feeling or why. I want to use it every day but I’m now a little frustrated right off the bat so I’m slowing down my use after a few weeks..Version: 2.65.0

It’s ok great but...Hi, recently I got recommended to download this app, so I downloaded it and was very excited about it. Once downloaded, I had to wait for three days to unlock a slide called “insights”. On the third day, I picked up my phone and saw that you need “premium” to unlock “insights”. I’m very disappointed with this app and I hope that you can at least remove premium from “insights”. Thanks, Anonymous. Thank a lot for answering! Although I have no intention of paying 48£. I guess that I’ll have to find an other app... Thanks anyways!.Version: 2.35.0

“Jour becomes Alan Mind”?! Ehhhh no thanks!!First of all, I don’t understand why they had to change the name of the app from something sweet and cute (Jour meaning day in French — makes sense) to something so clunky and unattractive as Alan Mind (who the heck is Alan and what does he have to do with anything??). Secondly, the new app icon is awful. It looks cheap and tacky and stands out like a sore thumb compared to the previously simple, self-explanatory and inviting one. I do not care for these changes one bit 😒 I’ve been using Jour for pretty much a whole year and, as such, become very familiar with it. As a person with anxiety (and I believe many of their users struggle with this same condition) familiarity is very important! It brings about a sense of safety. So not only are these sudden changes completely unnecessary — they literally add nothing of value at all! — but they have ruined the user experience for me and I no longer trust the app developers. With that, I’m out. It’s time to find a different app..Version: 2.100.0

Lost all my journal entries and accountIve had this app for three years ans theoughout it all theyve rebranded and changed so many times i cant count. also they lost my account that had three years worth of journal entries i have tried to contavt them but they keep deleting my messages. i was heartbroken because well i had all my diary entries there and they rebranded so only those with a company linked to them can join. they have rebranded this app so many times that before it use to be called jour and journal app but it was clearly failing because they had to turn it into this monstrosity of an app where it loses their audience's work without any notice..Version: 2.177.0

Beautiful app, at a priceFor an individual, a $60 a year subscription for one application (which may be one of many subscriptions these days) is a bit of a steep price point. Tangerine has a similar application for about half the price, and even then, that’s a bit much. I really enjoyed my time with this application, back when it was Jour. I am not keen on how much data is linked to you, especially as both an corporation facing application, and as a mental health application. For the price point, I’d like to be able to view and download my data history, and have more confidence over the privacy. I do really love the application though. It is beautiful and incredibly simple to use. The prompts are great for helping you reflect on the day and take a moment to appreciate the things and people you love. If other subscriptions hadn’t come up in my life, I would have held on to this one. As such, I can’t justify one subscription that cost three times as much as my more important utility subscriptions….Version: 2.110.0

Cool app, but some room for improvementThis is a well designed app, no way around that. I love guided journals, and this one is put together nicely. However, two main critiques: 1. There are a lot of typos. And by a lot, I mean I found 7 within the first 3-5 minutes of using the app. And I’m still finding typos in content with subsequent uses of the app. If that little care is put into content and copy, it makes me a little wary of trusting the quality of the CBT content of the app. Also not what I would expect from a $60/year app. 2. The app developer *really* wants $60 up front from you, and it shows. The only subscription option in the app after a 7 day free trial is a $60 1 year subscription. There’s a back door way to purchase a month by month subscription before you go to cancel the free trial. But the practice felt disingenuous enough to me that I canceled outright rather than switched to a monthly subscription..Version: 2.49.2

Rubbish!!Used this for a few months then forgot my encryption key after a short break. No option to get a reminder or a reset. Messaged the developers - no response. Tried to report a problem - can’t do that either as the account is in a different email. All in a shocking glitch in the log in system and apparently no one to resolve it - what a waste of money!!!.Version: 2.125.0

Good app bad bad customer serviceI was loving the app loved using it and bought the paid membership. But all hell broke loose when I could not use my face recognition tool to open my account for me and tried using the “forgot my password” feature to regain access and the app just goes I to a loop that teases you thinking it will get you a link where you can change tour password but instead takes you to the same place asking if you want to be sent a link again to never go anywhere. I tried emailing customer service and went nowhere and the feature here in App Store to contact app developer also does not work. What a shame. Hope this bad review of their otherwise good app gets them to contact me ....Version: 2.67.0

Support is not goodWhen I cancelled my trial someone who was developer said was going to give me a $50 amazon card for my opinion and was on a video conference with the person and at end said would give me a premium account and have yet to receive either with no way to reach them. I found app useful but with only a year subscription option it wasn’t available to me. So couldn’t continue. Update: the developer reached out and realized amazon card hadn’t been sent so made sure to send it to me but yet to hear on lifetime premium membership promised has yet to be received. I enjoyed the app and was a big help but the only option a years membership just doesn’t work for me..Version: 2.14.1

Great app!! I wish there was more to it thoughI really like this journaling app because the prompts ask me to focus on things that remind me who I am as a person. I’m going through a self-discovery phase and this app is really helping me rediscover who I am. Critiques/suggestions: Can we have a “my profile” page? It would be really nice to be able to have one page where all the entries are, instead of having them on multiple pages. It would also be nice to have an option to reorganize the app, or even just the personalized “my profile” page, in a way that suits each individual best. It would be really cool to be able to have a “book mode” as well. To be able to design a cover and have a page for each day. It would also be extremely neat to be able to customize each page with different layouts, colors, fonts, etc. I LOVE the aesthetic and color themes of the app. Maybe have an option to add pictures at well!.Version: 1.0.8

Not workingThis seems like a really cool concept but it won't me sign up.Version: 2.187.0

Lost 2+ Years of DataI thought I wrote a review already, but apparently I haven’t. I went back to the Jour app after not opening it for awhile only to find it rebranded as Alan Mind. The rebrand didn’t entirely bother me that much. I enjoyed the look and name of Jour, but whatever. What bothered me was the fact that after I was forced to create an account for Alan Mind and go through their long survey process, I lost 2+ years of journals that I was told would still be there after I created my account. Interestingly enough, the exact dates and times I wrote journals were kept, but not the actual text itself. Which I see has been a problem for multiple people now. I am devastated. Thankfully, I randomly decided to move all my journal entries elsewhere sometime last year. (Perhaps I saw this coming…) However, Jour/Alan Mind still had all my dream journals that I was keeping over the years. I am super into recording the dreams that I remember when I wake up, and I love (loved) going back to read them. I have now lost years of what were essentially memories to me. I cried for over an hour and immediately deleted the app. I will not be returning to use it, and I don’t recommend it as a long-term option for anyone else..Version: 2.139.5

Great app but needs improvementI love the style of this app and it’s functionality. Most of the journals are really good, and it seems the developers work hard at improving the app (this makes me feel more comfortable with investing in it long term), but I don’t like direction some of the guided journals take me in. For instance, sometimes if I say I’m not feeling well it will ask me to list things I’m grateful for, or if I’m afraid it will ask me to look around at my environment and identify what makes me feel more relaxed. This takes me away from the upset, instead of guiding me to resolve it. Gratitude is a great practice, but if you don’t resolve the upset/uncomfortable feelings, this could be used to just numb out and only feel temporary relief by getting you to focus on something else. This app could be a very powerful tool for introspection and resolving upsets (and in some cases it is). I just notice some of them are a home run and some of them leave me hanging..Version: 2.41.0

Interesting content but buggyThe guided journalling is great. The training videos seem good too but the experience is confusing and buggy..Version: 2.112.1

Troubled receiving supportI’ve been trying to reach app support the past few days bad through intercom no ones replies. I was enjoying the app but after switching phones I haven’t been able to get into the app..Version: 2.68.0

I Wanted to Love Jour...Unfortunately, it didn’t love me. My first impressions were great. It’s free, has a great layout, and the guided journaling prompts were interesting. Then, I discovered the app has limited functionality with my Bluetooth keyboard. I couldn’t proceed to the next prompt in a guided journal without turning off the keyboard, then clicking the next arrow that wouldn’t appear otherwise. This was mildly annoying, but I decided I could deal with this. After all, I mostly wanted the app for my own, long-winded personal entries. However, after creating said entries, I found I couldn’t access any of them again after saving them. Whenever I tried to open an older entry, the app would crash — every time. I updated my iOS, reinstalled the app multiple times, created new entries to test, and even tested from my iPhone. Without fail, Jour would completely shut down, so the very important journal entry that I needed is entirely lost. Again, I really, really wanted to like Jour, and I did, for about two hours. If you’re the sort of person who like worthless free writing or the guided journaling (which, remarkably, I can still read if I want), then Jour might work for you. If you’re a serious writer who wants to input a lot of content and read it later, stick to a word processor or, better yet, pen and paper..Version: 1.2.1

Felt Duped Into Purchasing PremiumI downloaded this app and was really enjoying my first day with it. I wrote several entries and was enjoying the powerful prompts. While I was searching for my very first entry, which has still seemingly disappeared, I found myself prompted to purchase the Premium version, of which I was previously unaware. I seemed unable to move out of that section until I either agreed or disagreed to purchase. Afraid I’d lose my whole day’s work, I reluctantly agreed to buy Premium. It seemed to me the purchase was required in order to access my previous entries and continue using the app. Upon further investigation, I see that’s not the case. It seems that there is definitely a simpler daily version vs. the premium version. I don’t know why I was prompted to make the upgrade in a way that made it seem as though I either had to buy, or lose my work. Perhaps it was a momentary glitch, but I definitely feel a little duped out of what I had hoped would be a very positive experience..Version: 2.22.2

AlrightIt’s alright in its basic app features, but everything other than writing the daily journal is behind the subscription. It took me a couple days to realize that :/.Version: 2.82.0

From being free to £48 is a huge leapI was using this app regularly and made quite a good impact on my anxiety. There were less topics but still really good. I find it is unfair to now charge for the things that were once free especially if you have been using and supporting this app for awhile and telling your friends about it. If I can remember well, there was a survey not long ago to have our thoughts on making some new ‘insights’ payable with a small fee but £48 is not a small contribution and the free insights that I used to have i now have to pay for. Very disappointed that apps nowadays start well and with good intentions just to turn greedy. Very disappointing.Version: 2.35.0

App functionsI really really like the app. However please fix the fear session glitch. Everytime I try moving to the next session the app closes and I can’t move forward. Thank you ~.Version: 1.1.6

Add entry for the previous day?Is there a way to add an entry for the “previous” day? I don’t go to bed until 4am but if I forget to put in an entry before midnight, it assumes the entry is for the next day. Very annoying and has prevented me from being able to use the journal 50% of the time so far. What am I missing? I feel like this should be a feature so maybe it’s not clear where I can put in an entry for the previous day?.Version: 2.25.0

Miss the old app check insI really enjoyed the app before they changed ownership or management over a year ago. I truly felt that even without subscribing I could get a good amount from the app. Now they’ve blocked and kept a lot of things behind the paywall. Now without the subscription it pretty much functions like your notes on your iPhone except it does give you prompts to help probe your feelings. Even then, if typing/checking in on your phone, it restricts you from being able to write long journal entries, as the suggested responses block you from being able to see what you are typing after a certain point. I unfortunately will not be recommending this to friends or using it for much longer. (Before, it included a daily story that had a short breathing exercise and a brief blog post with some mental health tips. It was enough to encourage me to subscribe as I could see more of what the app has to offer.).Version: 2.170.0

GoodIt’s an amazing app and i love it but you have to pay if you want a good experience for example when i finish writing my mood they suggest a journal but when you try to access it they want you to pay. i have anxiety and this app helps i just get confused and frustrated when it say i have to pay.Version: 2.62.0

Depressed me more. Refund please.Ever since it was changed to Alan Mind, i could not use it anymore. I previously made a review which was deleted after receiving a response to send them an email. Email support has confirmed that i have no active subscription. How is that possible? I paid a year in advanced. I really liked the app, but since i cannot use the premium service, it's useless for me..Version: 2.119.1

Update on CBT techniqueNeeds to teach more CBT technique in the app and it should not be annual payments only $91 is expensive..Version: 2.116.0

Annual feeSo I’m used to journaling in the note section of my phone which seems to work for me.m, but I wanted to try something new and esthetically pleasing to the eye. I wanted to be able to include more things in my journal such as tasking how I feel, daily goals to achieve and so on. So I discovered this app and the reviews were amazing. Any issues that users had them team responded and fixed it or put it into discussion. My issue is not knowing up front that there’s a $60 annual fee to express yourself. And I understand that you have to invest in yourself and your well being, but if I was someone who couldn’t afford an annual fee that would be hurtful for someone that’s trying to work on themselves. I know fees can’t be removed, but putting it into the apps description would be helpful. I’m still debating on if I want to pay for the same thing I already do. If I decide to purchase the subscription, I’ll come back with an update..Version: 2.23.0

Won’t openEvery time i go to open the app it closes instantly have tried reinstalling it but still happens, i don’t know if it’s because i’m on an old phone but should still work :(.Version: 2.77.3

Good overallThe soo is good overall, although i would love it to be free as i know i would benefit and many other people would benefit from having the full experience of the tailored articles etc without having to pay..Version: 2.89.1

Wishing I didn’t purchase the premium planI love the UI and the intentions of this app. I’ve been using it for about 2 months, and shortly after I started, I doubled down and purchased the upgrade. At first, I was impressed... but after two weeks, I started to realize all of the prompts were repetitive, such as “who is a person that inspires you?” The Insights are really basic analytics that don’t allow you to dig deeper into the data, but you do see (basically) a word cloud of all your emotions over the week/month, etc. I think I just had higher expectations for functionality. I’ve still found some value from the app, but paying for a yearly subscription is a mistake that I will eventually have to forgive myself for purchasing. Meanwhile, I’ve found a more robust and (seemingly) more data driven journaling and CBT app that offers deeper insights, patterns and analytics that are based on entries, moods, thoughts, behaviors. So, if you’re looking for something a little lighter and fluffier (nothing wrong with that!), check out Jour for a couple months before paying. If you’re looking for something to provide data, actions, insights, exercises, fresh journaling prompts, etc. I recommend taking the app CBT Companion for a test drive, too. Either way, lesson learned. I don’t need to pay money for something that is shiny, beautiful and new, until I kick the tires a bit and taken it for a test drive. Just food for thought..Version: 2.38.0
