Elgato Stream Deck Mobile for Positive User Reviews

Works as advertised, what else is there to sayWas going to get a physical stream deck then saw this on the App Store. Works exactly the same with the same software, can use it on multiple devices at once with different settings and is a lot cheaper ( the 15 key stream deck cost more than 6 years of subscription fees) If you already have an iPad or iPhone, get this..Version: 1.1

AwesomeI am amazed at how good it is and its literally changed my workflow and no, I am not a streamer! It connects every time, (just go to Legato website and download the Mac/PC software first), I a cannot understand why others are saying it doesn’t for them. Best of all the subscription also works with my Note20 Ultra, which is awesome, I literally love the developer for this, one subscription and multiple devices. Now do you need the Streamdeck? Watch some YouTube videos and you might discover it will work for you, in fact I am already thinking up new use cases, (I literally use hotkeys for everything and always instal the Alfred app on every Mac I own.) I was considering purchasing the hardware and now I realise that my Phone and iPad might need I don’t need to. I am literally loving this app right now, its truly awesome.Version: 1.2.2

FIXED: Connection issues & Profile not switchingI see many reviews mentioning app disconnects and also that profiles are not switching when opening a desktop app for which a profile is set. I had the same issues and was able to resolve. The issue is that you need to close the StreamDeck Mac desktop app with the red close button, do not quit with Cmd+Q, do not minimize with the yellow button. Quitting the app will cause the disconnect from the IOS app. Minimizing or leaving the desktop app in full window will cause the profiles not to switch. I logged a ticket with Elgato as this should be MUCH clearer in their software via pop-up dialog etc..Version: 1.2.2

Very happy indeedIf you have the physical stream deck, this is a perfect addition. We use both in our radio studio for firing jingles and also for production. The iPad fires off jingles instantly and, admittedly, you do need to use the zoomed in function and it could look a little sharper with fonts and now the larger stream deck is available, an iPad deck to go hand in hand with that would be awesome. The functionality is fantastic, really easy to set up and use too. If you don’t yet have the stream deck, this is a great alternative, although I would advise using a dedicated tablet for it. Our studio uses it on iPad mini..Version: 1.0.2

App is awesome, still needs a lot of featuresStill needs a lot of features (pages in folders, multi-action open folder, etc.). Doesn’t always use screen real estate. Editor is super tedious and can’t edit on iPad. Functionality is amazing. You’ll never go back to working without one. I already have an XL, and still, I welcome this app greatly..Version: 2.0.0

Useful for my stream ...So I have a mini which just isn’t enough. I was saving up for the larger one and decided to try this. Works great on my iPad Pro. Wish it was customizable up to 32 buttons like the xl version. But this will get me through for now. Bothers me el gato hasn’t updated the app in 8 months..Version: 1.0.2

Had to cancel my subscriptionThis is an amazing app when it works. Unfortunately it connects intermittently and for the last 2 months can no longer connect to any pc I have. I’ve canceled my subscription since it doesn’t make sense to be subscribed to an app I can’t use..Version: 2.2.0

Great app and affordableI don’t know why I see some people crying about to have to pay for this. Less than £25 a year and a physical stream deck will cost you at least 4 times that amount. This app is great and so affordable. It has helped with my streams since installing it. Great work Elgato!.Version: 1.0.2

Kept disconnecting, solid todayI wanted this to be as good as the physical product. The idea is fantastic but in practice it disconnects at least once every 10 minutes and has to be reconnected EDIT: today it’s totally behaving itself so I’ll change this to 5* and see how it goes. It really is an awesome idea..Version: 2.0.0

Keep doing what you do best elgatoThe 6 free icons are cool and if you want pay 69.99$ for custom amount and turns old iPad or iPhone into a tool for streaming I have been waiting for elgato to make it a one time purchase and I’m very happy that they made it finally a one time purchase thanks elgato I love your products I have the elgato wave 3 and this is massively helping thanks.Version: 2.0.0

NiceWell made with lots of possibilities, my only complaint is I cannot use swipe left and right gesture to change pages within the app..Version: 2.2.0

Works like the physicalI haven’t had any issues it works like the physical unit. An iPad app would be cool but the iPhone app is fine. Price isn’t too bad either..Version: 1.1

Awesome functionality but need more buttonsThis is a great app. I use it on my iPad but there isn’t really an iPad version, it’s just blown up. I wish I could add more buttons because I have so much room and the blown up icons look grainy and terrible. Other than that, great product..Version: 1.1.2

Stream Deck saved the day!I needed to be able to set up control for music and sound effects, for a stage play in a really short period of time, and give over to others to control, because I would be on stage. I sequenced the songs, as numbers, and sound effects, as letters, for easy and quick identification in low light, while following the script. At first, I had two people, needing to be able to trigger as needed. Problem… low budget, and only a Stream Deck with 15 buttons. Saw a 64 bit version, but the price was out of my range. Then I saw the IOS option, and changed the game! I got an iPad for $100 and installed the app, and gained over 160 new triggers, and you can have more than one running at the same time, so I was able to give both persons their own control boards, and everything worked perfectly!.Version: 2.1.0

Pretty good, A star awayI love the stream deck mobile, a downside from this is the loading bugs and the internet connection bugs. Sometimes on a iPad 5/6 gen, it keeps crashing, I am going to test out your wired stream deck. The WiFi connection and sync right away, even tho I only have a 5g Internet, so I couldn’t get the connection far away. If I get the stream deck, I’ll review about it, I am planning to get a stream deck mini..Version: 1.1.2

Best Value... period!I had a iPad and I had no idea I could turn it into a fully functional stream deck. Look, cheapest Stream deck is 90 bucksish. Most spendy version is 200+. The yearly for my app/iPad version is 25 bucks.... hellooooo! I love my streaming capabilities now. Best value item from ElGato. Get it before they figure out they can hike up the price! Hehe.Version: 1.1.2

Awesome 😀Nice touch to provide x6 free. Thank you for the big update to the app, works very well & great that it’s also native for iPad. Keep up the great work..Version: 2.0.0

Very pleasedI have been looking on the internet for a cheaper alternative to the stream deck and when I found out about this, I was very pleased it did everything I needed it to do plus it’s free so you don’t have to spend hundreds on a stream deck.Version: 2.1.0

HiiiiI love how it’s free but u have to buy the subscription so what’s the point making a free app when u ganna subscription.Version: 1.1.2

Does What It SaysIt does exactly what it says it would do. Yes, it requires a subscription, but this is pennies compared to the cost of purchasing an actual Stream Deck physically. Lots of customization, very convenient, especially if you learn how to write batch files on windows. Easy to recommend to streamers out there!.Version: 1.0.2

Great for people who can’t afford the deckThis app is great! Been using it for 2months now and for the monthly price you pay, it worth it. If you can’t afford the stream decks them self’s this is the best way to go. Way cheaper and if you don’t know where your channel is going or plane on streaming long, this is a good option instead of paying over $300 for one..Version: 1.0.2

I think it’s worth itAt first I tried it on a iPad Pro 3rd gen and no luck then tried my phone and worked for a split second then never connected. Ever since I have not tried it on my laptop, however connecting my phone to my Desktop worked wonders. Tends to buffer but always comes back and I tend to have spotty wifi on my phone. Still doesn’t work on iPad though but compared to a $150 box, this is a good way to save money until you have enough for a button box..Version: 1.3.0

I love all my mobile apps.Stream deck mobile has been amazing. I’ve been trying to cut wires and clutter on my desk so I have an arsenal of apps and wireless devices. This has been great for gaming, work and general computer use streamlining transitions between all three fluidly!.Version: 1.1.2

The best gets betterThe best stream controller for mobile now with the update gets even better I’m using it on iPad and iPhone as tools to help my stream and recording much smoother its a worthy investment..Version: 2.2.0

Nice AppThis Application is really fantastic and very simple to use. Love it.Version: 2.1.0

Love itI like this program so much that I will happily pay a monthly fee to use it. But there are a few little problems that prevent me from giving it five stars. (1) there is no iPad version of this program, which could support even more than 15 buttons. (2) the program communicates wirelessly to your computer, even if you plug your phone into your computer directly. This causes frequent pop up messages to occur which are annoying. (3) the program occasionally hangs up, in such a way that the entire iOS user interface is hung. All swipe gestures fail. You have to press the power off/on button to get the iPhone to work again..Version: 1.3.0

Good to try before you buyI honestly don’t think the subscription is a bad cost and you save even more when you pay annually it does actually make you aware of subscription and 30 day free trial so you can cancel. The only thing I think is annoying, is the response time when streaming, I feel like I have to keep pressing the button to get my pages/ commands up and it take ages for someone in chat to appear in my viewer page so I have to wait 5 mins to do shout outs and the title/ game doesn’t change on the vod ( I don’t know if this is a twitch issue though) but it works when I do it manually from the keyboard so don’t know. The keys look a little blurred as the screen is zoomed in on Ipad. Connects fine so I don’t understand the other reviews on connection. Another other thing is there’s no simple way of controlling the volume for mic and desktop audio in obs unless you get a really complex mixer, I believe this would be the same if you actually bought the stream deck though, I might try the alternative version to stream deck or just buy the actual streamdeck. Overall a relatively good app..Version: 1.1.2

I have the steam deckAnd now I have the app for $24/yr. the app does work almost instantly with no lag,I only wish you could customize how many rows and columns. My iPad is a lot bigger than my 15 button deck and I would love to do 5x5 or more on the iPad version..Version: 1.0.2

Volume ControllerEverything on it ,using it on my iPad Pro, works perfect. But I have a pet peeve, not sure if anything else is having this problem, when I add a Volume Controller I see a bug. 1. On the Type: Adjust, where it creates a slider, it doesn’t stay on after closing the app or restarting PC. It ends up with the original icon unless I change the type and put it back to Adjust. 2. Same thing on Type: Set, the percentage disappears and I have to click on another type and click back to Set. I HAVE TO DO THIS EVERY TIME I TURN MY COMPUTER ON ! Lol.Version: 2.1.0

Stream Deck is such a time saverI’m using the mobile Stream Deck as I bounce between devices a lot. It works great and I find it easy to add the profile on other computers after the first time. The setup time is worth the ability to click a couple of icons to get where you want instead of digging through multiple drives/menus..Version: 2.1.0

Works great - and a requestI use this app on an iPad Pro and have all this unused ‘screen real estate’ that could be put to work. Why no native iPad version? In the meantime it works great as is, but oh, the possibilities!.Version: 1.2.2

Almost perfect, but i don’t like this 2.0 versionIn the past version,i can use the zooming to make 3*5 fill my ipad in quite a large button, but it seems I can’t do it now.Version: 2.0.0

Great budget option for streamers. This has served me wonderfully for my twitch streams. Also for daily use. If you have extra phone lying around which I did then this app is a fantastic way to get your own stream deck for cheap. The actual product is nice but this is a great budget option. So much customizability with the elgato software..Version: 1.1.2

Wish it had Split View.Working on making better use of my desk space and had the thought of using this app and the twitch app on my iPad using the multitasking Split View mode. While this would impact streaming substantially for access to stream manager along side it, it would also be a great productivity tool along side many apps out the like notes or a calendar..Version: 1.3.0

Great, but needs an iPad appThe iPhone Stream Deck app is really great but I would prefer to have a full iPad app so that I could really take advantage of the much larger display. This would allow for many more keys and just an overall better experience than I would get on my iPhone..Version: 1.1.2

Perfect if you need a stream deck in multiple locationsI work as a graphic designer and started to get interested in using a Stream Deck as a productivity tool but wanted a solution I could use at home as well as the office (without having to buy two devices, or take one home each day). This app is perfect for that + has worked flawlessly with both iPhones I’ve tested, Xs and my old 5s. Only problem is now I want the Stream Deck XL and am back to my original dilemma!.Version: 1.1.1

One less thing to carry aroundI’ve used the 15 key stream deck for about 2 years to teach a class at a University. I used to haul an impressive amount of equipment around with me, but lately I’ve looked to streamline. My laptop of choice is now a MacBook Air, and I traded a big microphone for a few cables I can use to hook into the University’s audio system. I love my stream deck but when I saw the app, that’s one more thing to not have to carry around. I just use my phone, which of course I always have with me anyway. The pairing feature “just works” even with our University’s wi-if, which can sometimes be a challenge. The app works just as well as the physical box for controlling OBS, though all I use it for is simple scene changes. If you do the math, it’s much cheaper to get this app than it is to get the actual device..Version: 1.0.2

Excellent for workflow!I won a year’s subscription to the app in one of Elgato’s Twitch streams, and it has been fantastic for me! I have been using it to open programs, adjust settings, and facilitate productivity while working from home. The connection between the app and PC is seamless - it only requires that both devices be connected to the same network. The button functions are configured within the desktop interface, and there are seemingly endless possibilities! Thank you Elgato for the subscription!.Version: 1.1.2

Outstanding SolutionI stream only as a hobby and was reluctant on spending $100-$150 on a stream deck, but the complexity in my streams was ramping up to a point that it was difficult to manage everything on the keyboard. I had an iPhone 6 that was able to put to good use thanks to this mobile app and everything ended up working perfectly!! I now have a phone holder attached to my computer chair and this makes it the perfect setup to control the stream with one hand (wirelessly). I am just started with the one month subscription but after seeing the quality of what this app provides, I am sure I will switch to the annual plan..Version: 1.1.2

Thank you ElgatoI have their hardware device which I am still using. I really needed a bigger hardware device which iPad is able to accomplish with the virtual buttons. I would go kiss the feet of someone at Elgato for making this app and offering it for such a small subscription price. I have bought premade button setups for some of my programs and made my own for other programs. I can now control everything on my computer through this app. I don't know why Elgato is doing this because for some customers they will buy less hardware devices. All I can say is thank you Elgato and I will come to you first for all my streaming needs..Version: 2.0.0

Ok, but save your moneyThis app works great on the iPhone but being that it’s several years old they would have heard of the iPad by now. When connected to the iPad it should see it as an XL device and allow for more keys since you have such a huge screen limited by 15 keys. You would think it would be optimized for the iPad and work on either devices, 15 on the iPhone, 32 keys on the iPad. Nope, no one at the company has even looked at this yet you pay for a subscription. Come on ElGato get with the times. You want my money and I want an app that works on my device correctly not a blown up iPhone app, for that reason I gave it 2 stars and cancelled by subscription. Don’t waste your money if you are going to use an iPad..Version: 1.2.2

Great app—not as crisp with graphics, no iPad supportLove the app, although my custom icons are not as crisp and nicely rendered as they are on the Stream Deck.. I wish they would add iPad support and iOS/iPadOS 15 Split View/Slideover support. This would make my large iPad Pro the perfect tool for monitoring Twitch chat, the OBS feed (through a remote viewer to my stream rig) AND be able to easily slide Stream Deck over and change a scene without app switching & load times. Hope the developers read reviews. I’m a product owner AND app subscriber - I’d love to see this become reality..Version: 1.1.2

I love it - cost saving!!Rather than buying the whole physical deck! This is amazing for a replacement app.Version: 1.3.0

Does what you’d expect it to.This device/software works well. My only complaint would be that it sometimes breaks my windows key. Restarting the program seems to work. As far as i can surmise, this is the result of some interaction between Stream Deck and Starship Troopers Extermination, as it otherwise does not occur..Version: 2.2.0

Simple and EasyThis is incredibly easy to use with my OBS setup and works just like I need it to. Great 1080 quality at lightning speed. Only thing right now that I wish it had more capabilities like another OBS app out there where I can lock the portrait/landscape mode and manually adjust the camera (f/stop, iso, etc.).Version: 1.2.2

Good AppIt’s a good app. I used it for a week now and it’s more affordable than buying the devices. I’m not a gamer, at least not a computer but I use it for working from home. I don’t need quick response for what I need. I just need somewhat soon. I use it for web pages, finding folders and apps. The only complaint so far is when the Mac goes in screen saver mode, it kinda shuts down and has a spinning wheel trying to find a connection. Every time this happens. Sometimes it’s quick to reconnect, sometimes it takes awhile. Fix that and this gets five stars..Version: 2.2.0

When it works it is amazingI would give this 5 stars if we were given the option to connect to our PC via USB instead of WiFi or maybe Bluetooth. I use Ethernet for everything and I setup WIFI just for this app but the connection drops randomly (usually right before I need to use it). No amount of troubleshooting will give me a constant connection. However, like I said, when it works— this is amazing. But for now I feel like I wasted a yearly subscription..Version: 1.1.2

Support older devicesHello, I love your products and this one is very good. One thing that I would hope that you could consider is releasing a version that could work on older devices. There are many of us now have older iPads and iPhones that are now lying around and having apps like these that we use as a dedicated stream deck tool would be so great even if not all the features were available it would help to keep things out of the waste if we could have a use. Like my iPad Air that only supports iOS 12..Version: 2.2.0

Yes!This is such a brilliant idea, I was too scared to buy the actual physical deck as it’s pricey so I gave this a go and it so good. It’s changed the way I stream and so easy to use and set up. Well done Elgato 👏🏻.Version: 1.0.2
