✓ Great game but has a major issueI’ve been playing the game since it’s release and I am still enjoying it today. My main problem is that you can sometimes miss out on 3 stars in stages or lose a match of versus because of one thing. Bad luck. For example, there is a blue virus at the bottom of the screen while playing versus but you keep getting pills with just red and yellow causing you to lose the match. Maybe you’re trying to get three stars on a level but you can get the right color making you lose points because to many pills we’re used up. A possible solution would be to make that of a color of pill doesn’t show up for 3 pills, that color should be forced to appear for half a pill for the next two pills or the color is forced to appear on one full pill. ✓ Addictive but needs work!I’ve been playing this game since the day it came out and I’ve loved it. It’s very addictive but there are a couple of problems I have with the game. First of all it’s pretty glitchy (which is expected for a fairly new game) and when I close out of the app for a little bit or turn off my phone I’m unable to play any of the levels and I have to refresh the whole game. But since it’s new I expect some bug fixes in the future. My second problem with the game is the life system. I realize you guys need the make money somehow but the unlocking characters should do that. Nobody with a brain will pay money to refill their lives no matter how addicting the game is. If you really want people to enjoy it get rid of the life system or make a team option where you can join a team and request lives from people on your team. I have high hopes for this game in the future so please fix these problems..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Way better than I thought it would be!After playing super Mario, i thought this would be just as easy. The only thing I didn’t like about super Mario was how I have WAY to much coins and tickets than I can spend. It just didn’t feel like I was earning it all. But Dr. Mario world is AWESOME, my favorite thing is the music and graphics. I have a classic N.E.S so I play Dr. mario every now and then, and it’s one of my favorite games on the Nintendo, so when I heard there was Dr. mario coming on the App Store I had to get it! All though I then thought it might be disappointing like Super Mario. But it’s not. I love how the music is like the classic music, only better; more modern. And back to coins thing. I never get more coins( or other types of currency) than I need, which doesn’t seem like a big deal but it’s such a relief after playing Super Mario. Great game! It won’t disappoint! ✓ Good experience - for a mobile game systemFor clarity - I’m about half way through world 2 of 5 in this game right now. And for the most part? Dr Mario World does well at being fun and enjoyable while still using the generic “Candy Crush” style systems of limited lives and multiple currencies. The main reason for this is the VS mode - which while may potentially be partially pay to win? It’s not too unbalanced to provide a fun time without the worry of lives burdening you. Run out of lives? Just play VS for a bit! Need some extra coins for a powerup? VS is there! It’s not perfect, but I’m honestly having a genuinely good time with this game so far. ✓ Great EvolutionGreat next step for the Dr Mario series taking advantage of the modern touch screen in ways it couldn’t do on DS, 3DS and Wii U systems. Gameplay is a good mixture of challenges on each stage. Rotate your pill before it’s on the board and watch it float or drag where you need. Even add a 2nd to the board if on the time limited stages. Remaining half of pills if not blocked can be dragged, set of bombs and make use of the multi coloured orbs. Online multiplayer is good fun to and a great test if your speed if you want to win. Only thing I felt was missing was the medal awards system the other Nintendo games have..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Great puzzle game, micro-transactions and allNintendo made the perfect choice for putting Dr. Mario on mobile platforms as the gameplay is right at home along with its mobile counterparts. This feels like a Dr. Mario game through and through with the new story mode (not much of a story though but that’s fine) and versus mode being so much fun to play! Sure, there’s a bunch of micro-transactions here which can turn off some people. However, versus mode does not have a limit on the times played, so whenever you run out of hearts, this mode is waiting! And while characters and assistants unlock new abilities, there is not one that’s mandatory to progress. The gameplay is somewhat repetitive, but I truly admire the attempts to add new characters and layers to keep the formula from getting stale. ✓ Awesome, but with a major flawTL;DR: One of the funnest match-three games on iOS, and absolutely worth trying at least the first five or ten levels, but think hard about which starter character you choose. This is probably the best way they could have adapted Dr. Mario to mobile devices. I can’t think of a better way, at least. The shift from the previous games’ faster, Tetris-esque block-based piece movement toward the slower and more strategic style of Brain Age’s Virus Buster mode was flawless. The unlimited-time-limited-capsules mechanic is a refreshing new spin on the iOS match-three formula, encouraging the player to take their time thinking about optimal piece placement. The lives system is extremely forgiving (you spend a life to start a stage and get it back if you beat it). The problem, and this is a very major problem, is that the gacha mechanic is waaaaay too expensive. Thankfully, you can get by just fine with the basic currency, and the random drop rates are the same regardless of whether you use coins or diamonds. Still, buying diamonds at this point just feels like throwing money into a fire..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Unique Puzzle GameAlthough it is not exactly like the traditional Dr. Mario, it has a very fun and interesting design. It continues to add techniques and teaches you how to be better at the game throughout stage mode. I’ve tried several puzzle games on iOS, but I couldn’t really get into any of them very much at all. I don’t know if it’s the fact it’s Mario or if it is its unique design. But overall I’ve only played through the first 40 levels and I am loving the game. Also everything in the game can be unlocked without the use of purchasing gems. So, I can play the game completely free. If I had one complaint, is that you have to have an internet connection in order to keep your progress saved. Otherwise, an extremely well put together puzzle game, that I will most likely put hours and hours in to. ✓ Super great game, only a few problemsaaTo start off, let me say i’ve been loving this game a LOT more than i ever thought i would. its stage mode & versus mode make for great time wasters and i especially appreciate that versus mode has no “ticket” or “life” system, meaning that i can play a lot more than is healthy for a person :-) however, i do find some bugs in versus- if you’re dragging a pill to the top of the map and the pills shift down at the same time, the pill will automatically place itself if it touches a block and the game will call it a loss. also, i don’t like that you will lose a life regardless if you win or lose if you play a level again. you should only lose a life when you lose a level. but, otherwise, i think this game is super great. versus mode is a blast and i definitely recommend downloading this for some quick fun (games only last 1-3 mins!).Version: 1.1.1
✓ Amazing appThis app is the best. This game was better than I imagined. I like how you had lots of MARIO doctor characters and also there were lots of assistants which was great! I also thought that the stages you created were very creative. This app deserves 5 stars. I also loved the versus mode. You can play with friends or with people online. ✓ Great game but can be improved. Plus waiting on more levels!I loved Dr Mario so I couldn't wait to get this game. The versus is more like the game I use to play but the stages are fun too. A few of the stages seem impossible. I had to use the diamonds I was gifted at least 3 times to pass levels, if I want gifted them I would have never bought them and most likely still be stuck. I played everyday and one level took me 4 days to pass! However now I reached the end of all the levels the have and are forced to play the other stages over ( to get better stars) or just versus. At least the versus doesn't use stars but I shouldn't have to use a life on a stage I already passed especially if I pass it again. I can see if I failed or had done worse. They also have "bonus" speed stages you can complete 3 and get a prize. I completed all 3 of the first one and it wasn't that great of a prize. I completed maybe one of the 3 on the other bonus stages throughout. I suggest if you don't finish the stage each time they add maybe 2/3 seconds on until you can complete it. I've played other games that do that and it helps. Otherwise some a impossible unless you use multiple helpers. I really hope they put more stages out otherwise I'll move on to something else. ✓ Paging Dr. Mario!Dr. Mario, despite it’s more than 20-year history, hasn’t changed much. Dr. Mario World has added more to do and play with than any entry I’ve ever played, but at the same time it lacks some of the satisfying release-of-tension that the older games had. While the traditional Dr. Mario gameplay has more in common with Tetris—where vitamins fall at increasing speeds and it’s up to the player to place them carefully—in World, you drop individual capsules whenever you like. It effectively shifts the challenge from a time-based one to more of a focused puzzler where you have time to think and plan ahead. It works pretty well while still feeling familiar, but it’s strayed far from its falling-block roots. That game takes its sweet time ramping up the difficulty, but by the time it gets into the swing of things, I found it to be pretty fun if a bit slow. And it’s forgiving as far as IAPs go. The energy meter is generous and I haven’t seen any use for diamonds yet, which you pay real money for. Online Versus mode is a treasure, and requires no energy to play, so I expect that after a while that’s where I’ll spend most of my time..Version: 1.0.2

✓ So close to perfectAdore this game, just as I did playing the original 2 decades ago. Great gameplay both in vs and story mode. I’ve been keeping up with the levels and waiting anxiously for each update to start leveling up again. My problem lies with the staffing levels. Lately I’ve been getting repeats when using 4000 coins, tickets, or the tier 5 box in vs, but the characters have not been leveling up. I only have one level 3 character and the rest are stuck in level 2 or 1. I have even gotten a couple of doctors that haven’t leveled up. Not sure if this is still a glitch in the game, or what. This is a small issue that doesn’t hurt my love of the game...unless I’m cashing in and get nothing for my coinage. Hope more improvements/updates will fix this. In the meantime, I’m still loving this game and will update my review/rating to 5 stars once fixed..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Frustratingly glitchy.This game would be good if it wasn’t for how plagued with glitches it is. These glitches make it very frustrating to play. More so because the game punishes the player for its glitches. You have so many ‘lives’ that refresh over time. If u select level and the game crashes before you get to play, you lose a life. The the same applies to ranked play where your rank drops if a glitch throws u out of a PvP match or fails to actually connect you. ✓ Generally good. Internet usage and microtransactions awful!Generally good game. Puzzle game, generally easier than candy crush saga but not brainless. There is skill involved with some luck. Definitely not pay to win. High amount of levels, and vs play is quick to find opponents and quick matches, despite my tendency to always select a virus with the box rewards. There are 2 key flaws. One are the micro transactions. They over very little gain for relatively high amount of money. The big thing to spend diamonds on is characters, but as it’s a lottery in terms of what you get, you’re unlikely to get something that really helps you, and benefits are modest are best. I auto-ignore the transactions - even the specials are a wrip-off. The second is the internet connection. Not only does it always require one, but it requires a very strong on. Even at home where I have a strong connection, I have to occasionally auto-fail a stage because the connection lapses. This connection is not a problem for other mobile games or day-to-day activities. And it’s worse using public mobile data where it worse. I’ve had many auto-wins in vs mode because the opponent lapses out, and I dare not play vs more using public mobile data. The fact that you shouldn’t even need an internet connection for stage mode makes it very frustrating! In terms of this internet requirement, it’s extremely disappointing! Do NOT download this game if you do not have a strong internet connection..Version: 1.0.3

✓ GreatSo this is a great game and it’s lots of fun but I have some complaints about it. The staff I g section, it’s not easy to come by the tickets you need or the diamonds if you don’t have the coins and to get 4000 coins takes some time. I’ve beaten almost 70 levels and have made it almost to tier 4 in versus and I have only been able to get new staff members twice on my own accord. Maybe make the tickets part of a reward that’s easier to get instead of only when you level up in versus or in the mystery box every 9 hours. Also, it crashes A LOT and tends to take some time to load. I’ve crashed several times during versus mode and it treats it like I quit the game and takes away my trophies for that. Maybe change it to where you don’t lost them if you quit you just don’t get them because it’s really not fair because it’s not like I’m choosing to quit. ✓ Addictive. yep. AddictiveI’ve played since day one. Never missed a day. Hope I never have to. I’ve been a game boy fanatic since that first Christmas and this game gives me the feels like I’m 10 again, sitting in my parents 86 Ford Aerostar’s middle back seat praying my batteries will last through the trip. This brings me back to my trifecta of super Mario land 2, dr Mario and the all but forgotten Kirby star stacker. The last two were better than Tetris (and I still love that too). So when I say this is my game, believe me, Dr Mario World...is...my...game!! if I have a complaint it’s because the new levels aren’t coming out fast enough. silly me for training for this my whole life. I should have waited to download it instead of being day one. I don’t care if it lags or crashes— still better than a game boy battery running out. I love it when I’m stuck on a level for days. ✓ Brilliant game( characters cost to much )I’m about ten hours into the game, nice to play something different from Nintendo for a change, everything’s working well for me so far, currently I’m at level 83 and only just starting to come up against waiting for lives ( 1 life = 30 minutes ) I feel like I’ve got my money’s worth as I’ve spent roughly £6 which I don’t mind doing to support the effort that goes into these games, especially being a Nintendo franchise, but I will say the character unlocks are really too expensive coming in at around £5 which is too much, I think £2 would be around the sweet spot, and wouldn’t sap the fun out of a great game for people, hope your listening nintendo!.Version: 1.0.3

✓ Super adaptation of Dr Mario for mobile 💊My initial thoughts were that the new gameplay mechanic will be bad, as it’s different from the original Dr Mario, and that it would over simplify the game. However, I admit that I was wrong. The gameplay is very smooth and the bonus stages add difficulty to the game. My favorite mode is the online mode. I love the fast based matches they make it very addictive. I also love the fact that you can play online without using hearts, it shows that the game isn’t greedy. Despite the micro-transactions!As much as I hate gacha mechanics, this game takes the Dr. Mario formula and twists it in a fun, easy, and unique way juuust enough where I feel it adds a lot of challenge and depth to the overall gameplay. Especially in versus. That mode is intense, and learning how to be fast is key. You don’t have to pay a dime to play this game, the stages are fun, challenging, and occasionally throw in new ideas. I really enjoy this a lot so much, but maybe chop down the prices of diamonds? It seems a bit much xD. If Nintendo chops it down a bit I may just end up spending a buck or two~. One little gripe in versus mode, please tone down Bowser’s attacking power xD. One moment you’d be fine, and the next you’d have your screen filled with blocks or viruses to the point you’re bound to just give up and lose. I understand it takes him longer to attack, but with high skilled players it’s basically as if he was a 2-3 attack power rather than a 4. So he feels too OP. ✓ Great game bad lacking in areasThe game is basically like every Facebook puzzle game, it’s just Mario flavored. My real issue with the game is levels and coins. As you play you earn coins and every 4K you can spin the gatcha roulette and get a doctor or a assistant. The problem is coins dry up fast and then you’re stuck doing boring dailies for small amounts. Sure, VS gives you some if you win but even that is small. My real gripe is level difficulty. I love hard games but a lot of levels feel like they have never been tested. When it takes me 40-50 tries to beat a middle tier stage that is terrifying to think how hard later ones will be. Overall the game is fun but it has no lasting power. It doesn’t even have a classic mode where you can just play old school dr Mario and see how far you can go. The game has potential but right now it only gives about 5-6 hours of playtime and it’s done..Version: 1.0.3

✓ ...WOW...!So, been gaming 35years+ but never been a mobile phone/tablet gamer, consoles all the way for me, however not because Im a Nintendo ‘fanboy’ but Nintendo’s mobile games have won me over, love PokémonGO(although that’s not Nintendo as such) FireEmblem love and SuperMarioRun is fantastic! What with no designated handheld at the moment(the Switch Lite is still some weeks away) Id be more than OK with(in-fact I’d prefer) Nintendo’s mobile be an outright purchase a-la SuperMarioRun, for me full ‘Nintendo charm’ mobile games I’d pay £10-£20 for rather than have them laced with micro transaction! ✓ Very addictive and challenging!This game is addictive as hell and very challenging. I see a lot of reviews stating how they run out of hearts, for me that was more the challenge, encouraging me to be more careful in planning my game. some levels seem impossible without luck tho. I'm at lvl 160 and haven't had to pay a penny. The constant updates I don't mind, seeing there are a lot of complaints on bugs. I have an iPhone7 and haven't had any trouble tbh, just the constant need for internet connection is annoying, especially if your stuck without it (on a flight) and wanna kill an hour. ✓ Having a virus-busting blast!Nintendo’s been on a roll with these mobile games. Super Mario Run was good fun for me, and this is no different. Dr. Mario World’s gameplay is similar to the original: line up pills to clear those pesky viruses. However, they’ve tweaked it so it makes for a good match-3 game. Story mode is slower and a bit more methodical with your pill placement, but chaining your matches successfully is a satisfying feeling. If you’re looking for high-octane matching action, Vs. mode is for you. I’ve only played this game for a few days, and I’m hopelessly addicted. The only minor problem I’m having is infrequent crashes, which can be a pain if you’re in the middle of a Vs. match. I’m sure this will be fixed in a future update, but this doesn’t ruin the game for me whatsoever. If you’re a fan of Mario, good match-3 games, and a little competition, pick up this game. ✓ Great game, needs bugs fixedI love the concept of the game, it presents a good challenge and different ways to approach things. It’s a unique game and addicting. However, the game freezes, crashes, or glitches far too often. On numerous occasions, I’ve beat a more difficult level only to have my screen frozen on the clearer screen. The only way to remedy the issue is to close out the app, which results in me having to complete the level again. It’s very frustrating. As others have said, my game crashes occasionally which also ends the present game. This creates another issue of lives, it’s frustrating to complete levels (which takes a life) only to have the game mess up and you have to use another life on a level you already completed. If these issues were fixed, I’d be playing this game all the time! Edit: it would be great if developers could arrange it to where the character skills actually help out. For instance, if I only have two viruses left and I’m using Bowser, my power up should actually hit those two viruses and not two rows that have nothing in them.... or when you’re down to one, the capsule should change to match that color to help out. It seems like you did it this way to make money. (This is more of a personal complaint, I am honestly more concerned about the bugs being fixed.).Version: 1.0.3

✓ Great but GlitchyDr. Mario World is really awesome. The gameplay is legit really good, especially versus mode. There are a lot of characters to unlock. This is probably Nintendo’s best game, tied with Mario Run. If you liked previous Dr. Mario games, GET THIS! It’s a masterpiece as far as mobile games go. I say that but there are also a ton of glitches. Sometimes when I tap on coins in the map, I don’t actually earn any coins. There has been a time in online mode where I won because I could simply do nothing on my board, I couldn’t place capsules but viruses couldn’t spawn either, so I ended up winning. The loading times for when you go back into the game after having your phone in sleep mode for a second are longer than the loading times for when you first open the game. Bad loading times too. Overall it’s a really great game. There are a lot of bugs that I’m sure will be fixed. I also wish there was a free way to earn diamonds..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Not the original- but in 2019 how can it be?!It’s great as it takes all the original play but transfers it to a smart phone. It’s DrMario but reversed. So the pills go up not down. And a nice little update is that when you get a half pill after a bug is blasted, you have a chance to choose where it lands. Not just directly underneath like it used to be. There is also a VS battle section (like the old 2play) great for anonymous quick plays. Only issue is I’m on day two and it is soooooo glitchy. I keep getting errors! 9 so far this morning. Some times it take one life away from me for each level (even when I’ve completed the level-sometimes it lets me keep it) There’s no off line version it seems - so I don’t know how it’d hold up on a plane journey or travelling. It’s a good game to rival toon blast / toy blast / simons cat. But it has a way to go before I spend any money on it.....Version: 1.0.3

✓ Amazing gameEveryone in my whole family loves Nintendo and all the games. My brothers all of them (3) love Dr. Mario and Mario maker 2 but this game does have some issues on the phone. Even on some of the latest phones it will exit the game out of nowhere! It’s quite annoying, but the good thing is that Nintendo is working hard to get everything done and they are fixing bugs all the time. Btw all the doctors you can get are really cool and awesome just sometimes the powers they have are a little strange. Like daisy deletes one virus of the players choice but I think that’s a little mean because what if you have like even two viruses left and one capsule left that don’t even match the colors than you will still lose. ✓ Easy Entry - Rewarding DifficultyI love this game. I play every day, and haven’t spent any money on it. For a newcomer, you can spend a lot of time going through the first few worlds, getting coins, and stocking up on doctors and staff. Where this game really shines is how it encourages you to get better - the difficulty curve is wonderfully managed and even if you’re only starting out, if you commit to getting BETTER then you’ll do just as well with top players. I’m ranked 3500 competitively and my doctors and assistants aren’t nearly the level of some others, but it DOESN’T MATTER because I’ve committed to getting good, not getting rich. If you get can’t get three stars, the best thing to do is keep moving forward with new stages until you have the right doctors and assistants. Dropping resources is fun and works, but if you’re smart you won’t have to. This game encourages creative strategy and I’m all for it..Version: 1.3.5
✓ WowSo, I can’t even remember preordering this or anything but I got a notification to say it’s ready. I downloaded it, synced to my Nintendo account and had a go. I’m addicted! Such good fun. ✓ Great game, even for a micro transactions game. Just a bit unstable!Loads of fun, and really not too bad in terms of pushing for micro transactions. Sure, you still have to wait for lives occasionally, but there’s still a few things you can do while you wait, such as play versus mode or (if you have enough) spend your coins on staffing. My biggest and really only complaint about this game, so far at least, is that it seems to be very crash-prone. In just the past 15 minutes of trying to play versus mode for the first time, it’s crashed 3 times, once during the tutorial, once after matchmaking (I lost by default and was penalized trophies for it), and once after a game. Kind of takes the fun out of versus mode if I’m going to be unable to advance due to technicalities (losing half of the time to crashes and half of the time because I didn’t play as well as my apartment). Needless to say, it’s a bit disappointing and I really hope they can fix it! And naturally, if they do, I’ll change this rating to five stars :-) (If I had to guess, I would say the game might be running out of memory? My tablet, an iPad Air, It’s a few years old as well, so it might be a more general deficiency in system resources. ✓ Fun game but has problemsThis game is so great in so many ways but it screws itself over with it’s connection issues. I am very patient with this game, I play it almost every day despite that any time I switch apps it re-loads for some reason. But there are some levels that are stupidly difficult. I spent 2 weeks on level 199. I appreciate that it’s free, I understand they rely on people buying items to make a profit, but some of the levels are ridiculous. ✓ Good game but would be better with really one little change.The thing I would probably change is being able to switch the pill color with the one under it that’s coming next, there have been so many times where I carefully checked and tried everything and sometimes wouldn’t have enough of one color given to me that was going to come next and trust me I’ve tried every way to try and kill as any viruses as I can with half a pill and yet sometimes still wouldn’t have enough of a certain color. I just seriously doubt it’s calculated so that you can win everytime but I feel it would be more fair. I had a level one that had like 10 green viruses and none of them were near each other and out of all the pills they only gave me 17 green pills and they were all half’s none were doubles except for the one that was supposed to come next but since I couldn’t switch it i lost the level so many times until they gave me help at the beginning of the game with an extra pill..Version: 1.3.6

✓ Really fun, but a few little things to improveOk, so to start off, this is a really fun game. I like how you get new characters, but it would be nice if it was a little cheaper. 4,000 coins per 1 possible character unlock just seems like a little much to me. Another thing that could be better is the Timer levels. There just isn’t a lot of time on those, and although that’s supposed to make it harder, it does its job a little TOO well for my taste. I feel like I’m being forced to make decisions way too fast and it causes me to make mistakes often, which usually result in them adding up and causing me to lose the game, there just isn’t enough time to think. I can handle it in Versus mode because there isn’t really a time limit, it just encourages you to move faster and think smarter. Other than those little details, it’s a great game. ✓ Lots of potential held back by bugs.This is a really addictive and surprisingly challenging game that is sadly plagued with technical problems that get in the way. One bug seems to freeze the game whenever I complete a level for the first time. Once you complete the level the game board is cleared but nothing happens. The other issue is the servers. Having to connect to the servers takes way too long and connection errors occur regularly. This is especially annoying playing the versus mode. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been in the middle of a match only to suddenly lose the round because an error occurs. Once these issues are fixed I’ll gladly update my review and give the game a five star review. Also, there are microtransactions in the game but work in the same way as many other mobile games. There’s premium currency that can be bought to do things like replenishing your lives, buying items that can be used in levels etc. P.S. some of the levels need to be rebalanced. ✓ Good when I can play itDr Mario world is a fun game, it maybe a bit simpler than normal Dr Mario but it is still pretty fun especially in the later levels. I know what people will be thinking about the fact the there are micro transactions but I just recommend not to spend anything because they are quite expensive and mostly unnecessary for the game. However for me the game keeps crashing on my iPad and it got worse with each new update. Now it is at a point when it is unplayable.
