✓ Needs improvementThe feature I was most excited for was the audiobook… But it doesn’t remember where you left off. Yes I know I can bookmark, but it would be absolutely fantastic if it would just remember where I stopped..Version: 2.9.3
✓ Loved it then it frozeI bought the interactive study content for $25 then after only 11 out of the 100 plus slides the course froze and I’ve tried everything and it won’t allow me to continue. I didn’t get what I paid for. Content was great while it lasted though..Version: 2.8.3
✓ This app is a jokeFirst off you pay 25$ for the app which is a lot and then you need to pay extra for the audio books and the final thing I find most frustrating is when doing the courses there is a ridiculously long timer until you can move to the next slide. If you try and go back to a chapter you need to start all the way from the beginning and it’s really frustrating. Why would you even put a timer? This app doesn’t give you any certificates… I don’t see the logic in this. I wish I never bought this app and I hope You don’t either. It MIGHT be helpful if they fixed all of this.. just read the book and do the online quizzes, it will help more..Version: 2.7.1

✓ No family sharing.Both myself and my wife are volunteer fire fighters and I downloaded the app on the iPad and paid for the chapters. However I can’t listen to the other chapters on my iPhone and my wife can’t use it on her iPhone either, which means we can only use the app at home one the iPad..Version: 2.7.1

✓ DO NOT BUYI bought this app thinking it would help me study for FF1 & FF2. I was able to get the interactive course to work sometimes. Most of the videos won’t play and the app won’t allow you to advance to the next slide. Example the lesson may say it has 8 slide but you get to slide 4 and can’t go any further. (Chpt 7.3) Also don’t even think about getting the audiobook to work it crashes the app every time. No matter what you do.. I havnt even tried the test prep.. I mean really at this point I can’t even study so what’s the point.. Don’t spend the $50… NOT WORTH IT!! Just read the book and find a study partner in your class..Version: 2.8.2

✓ Interactive course?I have been waiting months for this and finally I have the first 11 pages and again the coming soon? I’m about to take my test and I think that would have helped but I’ll never know and I’ll be shocked if it ever gets finished. It would also be nice to have the option to just purchase chapters you want to listen to in the audio book instead of having to purchase the entire book. How do you know 90% of students pass who use the interactive course? How are 90% getting them but mine still says coming soon? Is there some special hand shake? ✓ Slightly irritating with user friendly options.I made the in app purchase for the audio book feature, but soon found out the audio book and course work are two different purchases. I don’t think this is made clear enough, but my haste to make a purchase didn’t help. I’m happy with the contents of each, and would have made both purchases anyway. The chapter course work portion has a long timer before switching pages, making it frustrating to review a chapter, or skip ahead to where you left off. I don’t see a need for this timer. The audio book is paced a little fast for me, and slowing it down comes with significant audio issues. Not a dealbreaker. Great material, and it shows how much hard work went into making the app. I think a few revisions to make it more user friendly would greatly benefit this tool for people studying and refreshing their knowledge on the contents..Version: 2.7.1
✓ BummerAfter purchasing a hard copy of the book for class. I also bought the app to help with studying. I saw that there was an audiobook. Being that I drive 1 hour to and from class,4 days a week, I thought it’d be a helpful way to get ahead on reading the book, even though there was an unplanned additional cost to have the audiobook outside the original app cost. I had to Pay extra for the quiz portion as well, so I’m still unsure what the fee for the app was for since everything is an additional cost. Now, two weeks of using the app & audiobook, the app is no longer working. I’ve downloaded, used wifi, and used cellular service. And the audio book is no longer working. There is no way to contact anyone. For technical support , or a refund. So being mid academy this is a major bummer..Version: 2.7.1

✓ Pretty disappointedWhen I spent $35 in the app, I was under the impression I was buying everything I needed to buy. Come to find out they have individual purchases for each section in the app. I’ve already paid over $100 for the book itself and have the IFSTA to do everything else this app gives. I was just hoping to be able to take practice tests wherever I am to help study since I can’t always bring my laptop everywhere. And then I’m trying to take a test after chapter 1 and it says I need to purchase that as well. If I knew that I would’ve just purchased the exam portion for $15 and not spent the $35 on parts I can already do with what I spent $100 on the book and IFSTA. ✓ Courses Feature messed up by last updateThe last update made the courses feature extremely glitchy. I am unable to thee the entire course screen on my tablet . When I try to scroll left and right to see the entire text on the screen the course glitches goes to the next screen or leaves me stuck on the page. ✓ No study deck questionsI just purchased the app today (the exam prep and the audiobook). The audiobook works very well, but there are NO QUESTIONS in the study exam prep. They were separate purchases and each chapter is unlocked, but it actually says ‘0 questions’ under each chapter heading and every time I try to select a chapter or all chapters there’s a pop up message that reads ‘select a chapter’. ✓ Would not recommend at all for study purposes.30 bucks into what initially looked like a really cool interactive study app only to be massively disappointed, if developers are reading I’d like a link to get a refund. As a career firefighter and father I’m literally crunching time every second of every day, we spend so much time studying for certifications and training our whole career we barely get to be home. So I fail to see how implementing a RIDICULOUSLY LONG timer in between slides helps any one. The timer is so long I literally thought my phone had froze!! IFSTA I thought my phone froze your timer was so long!!! LOL. Instead to come here and read comments that so many people have already experienced this and complained and still nothing has changed? I wish I would have read prior. I’m a fast reader, like many other guys that are actually on the job we don’t have hours to wait on timers, we came here to learn about fire. my advise to anyone reading just buy the book. ✓ Good app but too expensiveThis is a great app to help you study, especially for those who are in the station, already hitting job town multiple times at night. But everything is so expensive, you have to buy the book then the app and all the crap in the app. Why are we trying to rob the people who are putting their life on the lines for others?.Version: 2.9.3
✓ Don’t waste your money.It’s horrible on the iPad. Screens don’t fit properly, if you have to stop you must start the chapter course over. Very glitchy. I’ve been teaching FF1 for 20 years and this contains great information presented horribly. To the point of unusable. The price reinforces the old attitude that ifsta is concerned with dollars before anything else. There are much better study options out there for your ff1 exam. ✓ Forced content timers make it impossible to move through content at a reasonable speedI bought the audiobook in the app and the content for study material. It was quite expensive for both but slightly less than the cost of the book. It’s great in theory but really unusable in practice as it doesn’t allow you to move to the next page without waiting on a ridiculously slow timer even if you’ve already gone through it once and are looking for something specific. Why cant I just move around at my own pace?? Also if you get a question wrong, back you go to the content and have to watch every video again and wait because of the stupid timer. I’m not a slow reader and I find it infuriating to read a page and then have to wait several minutes before I can progress. What ends up happening is I put my phone down for several minutes and come back later so I can go to the next page! Please fix this issue! 10 hours to learn 1 hour of content and I thought I would be able to use this as a reference later on, but not if it has to be slow and sequential..Version: 2.7.1

✓ Very good app if working…thats the problemUpdates come few and far between, I recommend purchasing physical test booklets, and other study Materials etc. this app crashes a lot, not reliable while your in academy, customer service is pleasant however aren’t always able to help.
