✓ Absolutely amazingI have to admit, I was on the verge of canceling my Apple Arcade subscription. There are some okay games in the arcade, but none that really made me feel like it was worth it so far. Until this game came out and blew my mind. If they continue producing games like this in the arcade, then I will continue paying the subscription. This game is so beautifully done, the gameplay is fantastic, graphics are top notch for a mobile game, the story line is intriguing and keeps you wanting to find out what happens next. ✓ Game is awesome, but...I have to say this one of the better adventure games I played. A lot of effort and talent has been put into making it. Great graphics, phenomenal landscapes and a good storyline makes it very enticing, but playing it on an iPhone can be daunting. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the touch screen interface for the iPhone is clumsy at best. One can slog through a good portion of the game using it, but you get to a point where you can’t make any mis-touches because the responsiveness of the touch screen is so bad, plus your fingers are always covering portions of the battlefield which makes it that much harder, if not impossible because your moves have to be split-second accurate and you can’t do that with half the battlefield covered with your fingers. Perhaps it would be best played on a computer or console. I’ll have to see about using a wireless controller to get through that portion of the game..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Unexpectedly GoodAfter a weak start and a bug ridden first play I didn’t think I would enjoy this game, yet here I am with over 20 hours of gameplay. honestly, the game isn’t optimized very well, it lags a lot and the large buttons are surprisingly easy to miss. the beautiful scenery and the relaxing and entertaining gameplay make up for it most of the time… but when it comes to boss battles it’s a real pain since it’s easy to lose track of the character in low contrast red scenery. it eats battery life like nobody and makes my phone’s hard drive audibly skip so I suspect the issues don’t come from the game itself but how it runs. all negativity aside, the world you get to explore here really is amazing. so wide, varied and rich in details. exploring it is challenging enough to keep you entertained but never frustrating. if I could give this game 3.5 stars it’s what I would rate it as protip: try putting your phone on do not disturb and turning off Bluetooth if it’s too buggy.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Absolute masterpieceCLARIFICATION: I played this game on my PS4, if you can, you should play it there This game is without a doubt one of the most serene and enrapturing experiences I have ever had, when I started playing it I played it non stop for the entire weekend until I’d completed everything there was to do in the game. The graphics are stylized and beautiful, the environments are stunning and the lore is a joy to dig into. The thought that this game can fit into my pocket is a marvel. That said, it doesn’t run the best. If this is your only way to play this game or if this is just where you like to play your games then I think this is a perfectly acceptable way to experience it. The controls don’t require precise aiming but they do lend themselves to precise timing which is always appreciated in a mobile game. If you can play this on your TV I highly recommend you find the biggest, prettiest screen you can and feast your eyes on the pure beauty of this game. ✓ AmazingLet me start by saying I wouldn’t give them five stars if the game didn’t lag so much. However the lagging doesn’t cause a problem for gameplay it is seamless and smooth. I overall really love this game and I would love to see it on more platforms or make it into like an actual video game for consoles! The storyline so far is really good clear and seamless I love how there’s not really any instruction in the beginning on how to play you kind of have to figure it out I think that adds more to it. The graphics are also really good especially for a mobile game. I’m only halfway through the storyline but I absolutely love it and I would love to see more added to it. ✓ Fantastic gameThis game is the only reason I have an arcade subscription. Fun game play. Kind of an open world idea in that you're not set on a linear path, but can explore and do different tasks at your own pace. Each world section was larger than I expected from an ios game, and didn't feel empty. It also takes time to fully explore and find everything. Once you have the shoot/speed mechanic down, the boss battles don't tend to be difficult. I would not recommend this game on an iPhone! Haven't had any crashes or major issues while playing on an iPad. Can lag at times. Highly recommend a controller!.Version: 1.0.3
✓ Beautiful, amazing game.I started playing it on my iPad but the graphics an frame rate started getting worse. I switched to the Play station 5 and it was amazing. Graphics are beautiful the frame rate was 60, I love the story. It is quite similar to the legend of Zelda: breath of the wild, but instead, it forces you to do the bosses in a certain order. It is an amazing game, and if you want to get it, get it on the Play Station 5, not an iPad or phone. The last boss is quite tricky, but also really interesting. The end is kind of depressing but it works well. It is a beautiful, amazing and interesting game. But I have one more thing to say, why do you have the button that makes you automatically run on the iPad? I kept accidentally pressing it at boss battles and messing it up. Luckily, there isn’t a button that I know about on the Play Station 5 that does that. Overall it’s an amazing game and it deserves five shiny stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️..Version: 1.0.5

✓ One of the Best Games on MobileI just finished the game, and it’s a great title. I really like all the adventure, exploration, boss fighting, and some of the puzzle mechanics. It’s a beautiful title, with clearly a lot of care put into it. The world itself is vast and beautiful, and it’s great to play within it. The game doesn’t tell you what you should be doing, or how every gameplay mechanic works, so you have to discover and learn all that yourself. So there’s definitely a learning curve, but I found it satisfying to explore the game through your own initiative. Although I found myself being frustrated sometimes, that is only the exception. The only comment about this game I have is the camera (the player’s POV) movement when you’re inside smaller buildings. It’s clear that the camera is made for when you’re exploring the outside, but when you enter places like ruins, the can camera go through walls, which makes it a little annoying. Aside from that, the game runs pretty smoothly, and the controls are fluid. It just needs some more optimization sometimes. If you dislike these types of exploration-based games, then this probably won’t change your mind. But if you do love these types of games, then you’ll really love it..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Never judge a game by first gameplayWhen I first got the game I was completely lost and I got stuck in like one minute, but then i restarted the game and I LOVE IT. Okay so yea the game is quite tricky cause your given no instructions but as you go on in the game you realize that’s the best part having to try again and again just to get it right is so satisfying and as you go on you soon realize that the dead people and the temples are actually telling the story but it’s all about how u interpret them, that’s how you move forward. My favorite part is when I had to beat the “final boss” (if only) just for it to be more adventures right after that is making me giddy. ✓ Worth a playLoved it - the art style, game play, story line, battles, all of it. It’s simple, yet enjoyable. You definitely grow attached to your eagle buddy. The puzzles make you work, but not too hard. If you’re a terrain explorer, this is a good play; there are secrets that you can’t find by flying the whole time. That said, I do wish you could move the control buttons. When you fly up to certain places and the eagle isn’t available to catch you because their talons are full, kinda irritating when you accidentally hit the auto run and sprint off a ledge. ✓ Amazing and Adventurous!Wow! There are so many things to say about this. First of all, I love the story line. You have a clear picture of what you are doing. It gives you a clear and easy way to play. Plus, you gat a pet eagle! What’s more cool than that?! Each level gave you a different scenery. Not two levels were the same and each were it’s own level of difficulty. You get to solve puzzles and story like runes. Once your done, you could play it again! The ending was probably my favorite part. It was sad, but made me happy as well. Now, if I said all of this, it should get a five star review right? However, I did have difficulty’s with the game. It would glitch often any sometimes black out. Didn’t like that. But overall, I loved it. I wouldn’t stop playing. The graphics are beautiful and the story itself is just perfect. Good job on this! ✓ Bugging on iPhone 12 Pro MaxWonderful game, the graphics, sounds and everything else was just absolutely awe inspiring. The spiritual connections made as well as the game play and graphics put this game above anything I’d ever seen: however when the player is shooting the diamond boosters, it glitches and freezes. ✓ It’s great but needs an intro to where the characters are fromIt a good game and I love the graphics but the intro is just the main character is sailing to this area. Where is the person from and how old is he/she/they, and why did he decide to defeated the Godslayer you know? How did the Godslayer come to be. Also it feels really lonely because all of the people are dead. It also needs a longer ending to the game like for example you can make it so the main character can be respected by the people if they weren’t all dead. ✓ Wonderful game! So addicting, has some minor flaws but completely worth the download.I love this game, I really do. Beautiful graphics, great story line. My only issues are the controls and a new issue where the game keeps crashing (I’ve just gotten to mountain tundra and I can’t even make it 10 seconds into the game before it crashes. Such a shame. I also have some ideas for future updates. 1. The continuous running button should be slightly higher. OR swap the two buttons on the left side. I find that I’m constantly hitting it at the WORST times. If it was slightly higher I definitely wouldn’t hit it so much. It’s great at times but not always. 2. Add on a map. Something. Anything to show where the heck I am and where I need to get to. 3. I cannot stand the timer for running. It’s awful. I would be happier if the “normal” running was faster... or just no timer at all. The normal running is way too slow. It’s irritating. 4. The red cloud (I don’t know what else to call it?) doesn’t show through buildings, everything else does. I feel as though this should have been made to do that as well. Obviously this isn’t too big but it would probably settle a bit of anxiety during gameplay. 5. Some sort of Home Screen/menu level percentage for how much you’ve completed? For example, in mountain tundra, I’ve done 2 puzzles let’s day. “15% completed” or even “3/20 puzzles completed” (I’m just throwing random numbers out there..) 6. I’m using the worst terms ever but the “bosses” that you have to beat... I dread it. Heading into a fight and not even knowing how much more you have to do... you should add in some sort of display in the corner showing how much more you have to go, or how many arrows you have to shoot or SOMETHING to display that you’re making progress. At the end of Great Plaines I felt as though I was fighting to get my eagle back for SO LONG because I had no idea how much more I had to go! 7. There’s a slight delay with jumping. It’s very slight... but it throws you off. I’ve gotten used to it but maybe it could be adjusted somehow? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve pointed out quite a few things but I love this game. It’s so addicting. I’m hoping if I give the game a break or something it’ll stop crashing on me... already going through withdrawals.. :(.Version: 1.0.3

✓ Wonderful gameThe maps are so big and they have so many details that really let the player choose how much they want to get out of the game. You could choose to only check off all the tasks or you can find the hidden puzzles to gain more powers. The animation is smooth, although the controls can be a bit difficult to adjust to at first. I never experienced bad lag or glitching. The story and lore you discover along the way is so captivating! It does a wonderful job of worldbuilding without being too overwhelming. I just wish that after you finish the game there was a world roaming option, I would've liked to keep exploring after..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Give It A TryI am using a Macbook Air 3 with mouse and keyboard. I have finished two levels, almost. Each level involves exploring, puzzles, and dispatching a Boss. The exploring and puzzles are well done and relaxing and easily a 5. I found the Boss elimination segment to be tedious and frustrating. A mouse and keyboard are not ideal to play the Boss segment of your game. In fact, the mouse look feature stopped working when timing and reflexes were most needed at the end of level two. Now here is a heretical idea. A skip killing the Boss button so some of us who enjoy searching and puzzles can finish your game..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Godslayer Groundhog DayI defeated the Godslayer, returned the light to the land and watched credits roll. I even received the “The Truth is a Pathless Land” achievement badge, for completing the game and watching the credits. From the main menu, I then selected “Start”, loaded the last save slot, which stated my location as, “Unknown”. That turned out to be the tower where one ascends to the Floating Isle, with blackness all around, like a didn’t just kill the Godslayer and return the light. So, I dusted off my bow, ascended once again, and kicked some Godslayer booty and switched the light back on yet again. Credits rolled (Thanks, everybody. Again). When I returned to my final save slot, location of, you guessed it, “Unknown”, it loaded up in that same tower spot, enveloped in darkness once again. So, even after beating the Godslayer twice, I am still in the dark, on The Path...remind me again, what’s the point of this game?.Version: 1.0.3

✓ Beautiful gameThis game is stunning all round, its music, visuals and storytelling are really something to experience. Controls are a little difficult to use on touch screen, though once you get the hang of it it's (mostly) easy to play, about as good as it can be to play without a controller I think. I had a few crashes, about four in total during my entire playthrough, though I had very little fps drops or lag so that was something. Played on iPad Air 3 and the game actually still looks surprisingly impressive on mobile. Seriously give this game a go, it has so many amazing aspects and put all of them together you get one hell of a beautiful game..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Brilliantly done!A beautiful, artful game with an atmosphere a bit reminiscent of Shadow of the Colossus (i.e. large spanning landscapes in which you are usually completely alone, save for your animal companion). Rewards curiosity, doesn't hold your hand more than it needs to, and does a great job of keeping you immersed in its world. ✓ Console quality gaming and an Amazing storyThis game completely took my breath away. It reminds me of Skyrim in that it is a big game but also extremely entertaining. You have several huge mostly open worlds to play around in. You travel by shooting your arrows at the targets and running. It’s extremely fun to just do that. The story line is amazing. If you don’t like this bird at the end there’s something wrong with you. The game has an amazing way of portraying this nightmare like scenario where you get caught in a storm having to hide while catching your bird. It’s kinda annoying but it’s just part of the game and makes it all the more realistic. I can not recommend this title enough. I never recommend anything on here. This one? ✓ This game was very impressiveThe game was so fun to play with a really interesting story, however the best part was how it looked. It honestly looked like a high-end console game and the map was beautiful. The only negative I found with Pathless was how it ran on older devices (Anything lower than the iPhone 11) as when I played it on my iPhone XR at times the frame rate dropped and my phone really struggled, although it ran very smoothly on my iPad. Which is why it’s so unfortunate the controls are so glitchy - I have to keep restarting, but even then it’s not long before the left hand controllers just won’t work. ✓ Amazing Game (some improvements to be made)I have just finished the game myself and in my opinion it’s is one of my favourite games of all time. It is apparent of how much work and effort has been put into this game. It is also evident that the devs created this with creativity and passion. The visuality of the game is great and it’s almost as if you are a character in a movie following a story line. This game has one of the best storyline’s I’ve probably ever seen. There are only two things that could be improved; the graphics (although I understand that it is hard to make good graphic games on IOS devices) and maybe the boss battles could be less repetitive. If you are looking for better graphics and more pixels then you should probably play this game on PlayStation or PC. Altogether though, this game is a banger and you should definitely try it out. ✓ Incredible!This was so worth the wait. I just finished and can’t wait to jump in again. The world feels massive and it is gorgeous. They did a great job getting me emotionally invested in the relationship between the hunter and the eagle. It was super satisfying finding secrets (so many!) and finding every last light stone. Bosses were not too difficult but they were all satisfying. I’m also really impressed with the design of the touch screen controls- quite a feat for a console game on iOS/iPadOS. Speaking of, as has been mentioned by others this game really makes apple arcade worth it. ✓ Amazing gameI really don’t know where to start. I like to play on my phone a lot. I have tons of games and I enjoy going through theirs stories but The Pathless... Oh my... Starting with its open maps without compass or anything like that (which actually makes a lot of sense). The attention to the details, how perfectly everything is design... Even the relationship with Mother Eagle is adorable(I enjoyed petting the eagle a lot). The graphics, the music and the story everything fits perfectly and give us the amazing experience this game is. ✓ Best Game Ever for IOSThis tops any other Apple Arcade game. Worth the subscription for this game alone honestly. It’s games like this that apple needs more of. It’s perfect except for some technical flaws. The frame rate and resolution drops 30-40 percent of the time. Doesn’t bother me so much but still needs resolving. No what frustrates me is the game crashes on me during the unskipable sauro cutscene when you beat the boss. Keeps happening. I can’t continue. I’m not starting a new game. It’s crashed on me when getting achievements. I no longer have them any more. FIX THE CRASHES. I have an iPhone 8. I really want to enjoy this game more. Will rate 5 stars after patch. UPDATE - I managed to get threw the cutscene without crashing. I restarted my phone and paused the game often during the cutscene to give my phone some time to chill. It managed to work so I’m updating my review to 5 stars unless I hit another major roadblock. I love this game and I’m glad to have it on my phone! UPDATE 2 - I ran in to a glitch where I got stuck somewhere. Turns out there are multiple saves you can load previously which took me a while to figure it out. ✓ PhenomenalI found the Pathless while wandering the App Store, and I sure am happy I did find it. This game is incredible, with exhilarating boss fights and clever puzzles. There is not a whole lot of mandatory dialogue, so at first it seems to lack story. But the world around you tells the story. Spirits who’s whispers can still be heard and mysterious tablets engraved with writing tell the story of the Godslayer (Main Boss), The Tall Ones (Corrupted Spirits), and what happened before the events of the game. Ruins scatter the landscape, hinting towards the fury of the corrupt Tall Ones. Overall, I love this game, from the tutorial to its bittersweet ending. It’s crashed on me only once, and when I opened it back up it brought be back exactly where I left off. ✓ Outstanding, but laggyOk, so I actually really like the mechanics of this game! Very cool and fun! However, I’m at the very beginning and I’m honestly not sure where to go or what to do. Please implement a system that gives me some direction of what I’m supposed to do exactly. If I’m supposed to search for something, maybe give me a quest list that tells me what I’m supposed to do. ✓ FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS GAMEFirst of all I would like to say my first experience on the phone (XS MAX) was interesting because of 2 things: Instructions were limited so I didn't know the significance of the boxes that you shoot with arrows and the lag during gameplay. I ended up playing with a mfi controller and that changed the experience completely (especially on apple tv) I’ve never seen a game with such a wide angle perspective and the graphics are phenomenal. After I got used to the controls and understood the gameplay it made me feel like I was playing breath of the wild with a free running ninja style twist which is a great thing. Fell in love with it. ✓ Beautiful gameI’ve been obsessed with this game for a few weeks now and just finished it. Some of the puzzles and boss fights can get kind of challenging but overall this was a great game and I grew to really like the eagle companion. There are great graphics and good character development. I do, however, wish there was a longer introduction in the beginning to make the game’s premise more clear as it did get confusing who the tall ones were and who the pathfinders were when reading spirits’ “last words” bubbles. I also had some difficulty keeping track of the different names for the spirits (of the tall ones). I felt like more clarity on this at the start of the game would help the storyline feel more meaningful and add more conviction to the main character’s purpose in the game. It would also be helpful if it were clearer which puzzles to complete first, as they do seem to get gradually more difficult and lead you (spatially) to the next level/area of the game. All the other pieces to help the story along were there though. All in all, this was a well-made game and I’m interested to see what else this developer makes next..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Good but chugs/occasionally crashesThe game is very fun! I love the movement (playing with a DS4) and Austin did AMAZING with the score (PWL listener!). My only issues so far are: • the occasional crashes - but the game does a good job of auto saving so that when I load back in, not much if anything has been lost • some chugging - I’m using a 2018 iPad (not a pro) so I understand my hardware is the limit here. It especially doesn’t like if I let the screen sleep and go back into the game. Exiting to main menu and going back in fixes that though. The game is also very needy when it comes to battery life but eh what can you do when you’re running a game like this. Its to be expected. I’m in the second “world” Redwood Steepe, and I’ve come to some shrine there has big statues ,one on both sides of of the front wall. Each are built attached to the shrine and each has big red eyes. The fire storm was no where near my eagle and I, but when we got close to the shrine my eagle was suddenly burned and needing attention from me. ✓ Sometimes fun and sometimes frustratingThe Pathless is at its best when it's remixing the gameplay elements that made its spiritual predecessor Breath of the Wild so fun. Moving around is a joy, if your rig can handle it. Alternating between shooting targets and jumping, all while holding the dash button, feels wonderful, but alongside the game’s awesome sense of scale and color, it’s a feeling that’s hard to put into words. The Pathless also knows how to properly reward exploration and puzzles, bestowing not meaningless trinkets but the means to make moving around more fun. It’s a shame, then, that this bliss is occasionally interrupted by some story-driven combat, a series of encounters that all fall on a spectrum between boring and antagonistic (the roving storm “stealth” segments) and somewhat enjoyable tests of skills (the finale encounter, suitably impressive to play and to watch) that nevertheless frustrated me most of all because they interrupted the really fun parts of the game. I still recommend it. I’m looking forward to replaying it in a few years when the hardware I’m playing on can handle it on ultra settings at 60 FPS..Version: 1.0.3

✓ ControlsWow I gotta tell you I love this game. It’s possibly my favorite Apple Arcade game out there. My one complaint is the controls. I think it would make gameplay a lot smoother if we could customize the controls and where the buttons are because having the auto sprint button where it is has caused more than a few problems for me when I accidentally push it. If we could move where the buttons are or customize button size, that would make gameplay so much smoother and less irritating when I find out that I’ve pushed the auto sprint button and run off the edge of an obelisk or right into the jaws of Kumo. But overall, this game is lovely. The story is so cool and I really appreciate finding those little memories from the people who fought for or against the Godslayer before I came into the picture. Want to clear this out but there are times when the game either freezes up or chunks aren’t loading. ✓ Amazing gameThe Pathless is one of the better games I have found in Apple Arcade so far. One of the top 3 best in my opinion. I beat the game in about 6 hours and it was very fun. Considering playing it over again just for the fun of it, but I think that it would be great if there were new aspects of the game. ✓ Best Apple Arcade Game!Finally finished it after a few days with all skill upgrades from the Tall Ones! Strangely i found the first boss the most difficult. The story and relationship between eagle and hero amazingly injected emotion into the game which is quite unique. Gameplay and vibe was original. Great balance with hard challenges and easy challenges. Lagged considerably on my iphone 7, but after getting iphone 12 it ran so much smoother, but still had a couple of short lag moments, usually on scene of wide open spaces with a lot of animation..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Great atmosphere, repetitive gameplayThe game is exquisitely made - the visuals, sound and music are fantastic. The open world environments are fun to explore, even if it’s hard to know where you are sometimes! My only criticism is the gameplay is pretty repetitive - each section of the game involves the same tasks (but different puzzles to achieve it), and the boss bottles are pretty similar as well. I still recommend the game though, fun and challenging without becoming frustrating. ✓ A great and beautiful gameThe wide open areas of this game are a delight. Zooming around a gorgeous open world to find the temples and solving the puzzles inside is joyous. Fortunately, that makes up 90% of the game. The unusual instruments and style of the music is both beautiful and helps place the game in another world. It helps combine the different game elements into a cohesive whole. The boss fights are fine, but mostly cribbed from other games. They do start with zooming around the environment, which is nice. But the rest wouldn't be out of place in a PS2 game. You can't lose them, so they don't feel dangerous as the story wants them to. The worst part is when you are caught in a storm. They are tedious “stealth” portions that interrupt the best part. A few would be okay. Perhaps when you first activate a tower. But when you are in the middle of a puzzle and the color starts going red, it’s so disappointing. If they were more predictable, it would be nice. In the same vein, when you cleanse Kumo, the light is red. Which has already been associated with evil. It would be better if the light was golden, and the plants got a green boost..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Giant Squid makes great gamesThe Pathless is fantastic. Beautifully animated, fun to play, and a fully realized world with just the right balance of backstory and mystery. Probably the best game on Apple Arcade. The only drawback is it might be too much game for a phone—I have a 12 Pro, and it still gets laggy at times, which isn’t a big deal for most of the exploration and puzzles, but a couple of the boss fights took more tries than they should have because I couldn’t see or react in time. I really liked how instead of having to doge out of the way he just straight up blockes you’re attacks. ✓ This game is honestly one of my favorites ever, but it is damaging iPhones!Everyone involved in the development of this work of art, I salute you as it truly is an incredible experience. But I’m somewhat concerned with the ethics of porting this to iOS given that it causes overheating issues on my brand new iPhone 13 Pro, which should be about as state of the art as you can get in terms of mobile game hardware. And excessive heat is one of the main killlers to battery longevity. I understand it is a resource intensive game but I have to stop playing it as I don’t want to damage my phone :( I have even tried clearing out all background applications and turning on airplane mode, while helped a little but it was minor. I’m not sure what can be done to amend this, but i would gladly accept a graphics hit or shorter visual distances if it meant running at safer temperatures. Just my thoughts. Maybe even just a warning included to let players know it’s a possibility that it may cause damage or to avoid playing for too long. The puzzles and exploitation is really amazing for an Apple Arcade title and it’s what I would like to see more of on Apple Arcade. I do have a hard time playing the game during it’s more action heavy moments due to the game not feeling optimized well for the iOS or tvOS. There is large amounts of stutter during battles and draw distance causes the game to suffer, which is upsetting because seeing long distances is how you explore. ✓ Fun and FrustratingA beautiful environment that invites exploration. Tedious at times in that you are doing the same thing over and over, in slightly different situations. Some of the puzzles are simple, others a challenge, and some I never did figure out. There are a series of BOSS matches, each absurdly frustrating. What you are expected to do is not at all obvious. Once you do figure it out, your best efforts are still not good enough. You will repeatedly be wiped off the playing field. Recovery time, to get back into the match, is WAY WAY WAY too long. I thouroughly enjoyed playing the game, and recommend it, all except the fight matches. Humerously, the final BIG BOSS match is the easiest to figure out and endure! Sort of backwards..Version: 1.0.7

✓ Beautiful and TerrifyingThis game is incredibly beautiful and terrifying. It sucked me into it's immersive world and I got to the end in a little less than a month. I only wish that I could've been able to explore the fully cleansed world after I destroyed the GodSlayer. It lets me continue to explore the world once it's done, but the GodSlayer is still living on the floating island, so that's unfortunate. I love this game for the vast atmospheric quality and it would be lovely if they'd let the world be fully open after the total cleansing. Future update maybe? ✓ SpeechlessThis game is astonishing. I’ve never played anything like it ever! Maybe just Tomb Raider, but this is more chilled. It’s true, it drains the battery quite fast. But it’s a console game in my iPad! This is what Apple Arcade should be about: console games on our devices. ✓ Amazing but...It keeps crashing. At the beginning was ok as it was continuing after restarting the game but how I’m stuck in this crash-loop after I saved the second spirit of the forest. The video animation won’t keep going after the seal of the spirit turns off from red. I’m on an iPhone 8 (*) and the game runs pretty smoothly besides few lags and these crashing problems. I love the game. I played it for 5 hours and it’s addictive. You can explore a huge forest and find all the puzzles you need to solve to redeem the eagle-coins to use to turn pillars into light. Very enjoyable and relaxing and yet quick actions are required to fight bosses and reach some areas of the map. Would love to keep playing so I look forward for updates! ✓ At last some quality on Apple ArcadeThus far Apple Arcade has been mostly meh to me. Games lack polish, depth, creativity and replayability. I'm so glad I came across The Pathless. This is not necessarily a genre of game that I would look for, but it's so immersive and gratifying, you'll find yourself flushing away hours on this game. The pleasant mix of visuals, narrative and music come together magically as you seek to restore good to a cursed land. The touch controls on iPad can be a tad tricky at times, but I hooked up an Xbox controller and now the controls feel so intuitive. I got the job done on the first 'level' and it built up to such a crescendo that I thought the game was over. I was hoping this wasn't another way-too-short iOS game with lots of unfulfilled promise. And it wasnt. The story continued... The only real downside to this game is that it absolutely hammers the battery on my iPad Pro 2018. Certainly an area for improvement.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Great but GlitchThis game has a beautiful soundtrack, amazing graphics and really fun gameplay. Unfortunately the game randomly crashes on you fairly frequently. ✓ Amazing Game!This game made me fall in love with all that Apple Arcade has to offer! Ain’t favorite game the iPhone has to date in my opinion! Every aspect of this game is what an arcade style adventure game is about. Subtle yet complex landscapes and scenarios. Can play at a very slow pace or fast pace if you’d like. Multiple areas to complete the puzzling situations you can find yourself in without the feeling of being stuck with plenty of game left to play. Absolutely amazing game. Developers deserve high praise! The lofi music and sounds added really helped when I needed to escape from any worldly stresses and relax especially with my high anxiety and depression. ✓ Wonderful gameThis is probably my favorite all time iPad game. It ran very well on my 2019 iPad Air. I have gone through the game twice now with only a few issues. Occasional crashes but nothing major. The game is very immersive, and I love the lack of a game map. It creates a sense of adventure to be sure. I have seen some comments about the bosses being too tough. It really is all about mastering the running/jumping/flying combinations and recognizing the patterns of each boss’ attack. It’s worth the time. I love beating each boss as quick as I can and then roaming around each level looking for lanterns, lore, etc. before moving on. It’s a load of fun..Version: 1.0.4

✓ This game puts PS5 and Xbox releases to shame.As I was near the end of this review, I exited the window to look at safari and my review was deleted. However, I have written it all again as it would be an injustice on my part to not write how I feel about this game. So here it is... Let me say, I have never written a review of an app ever in my life - but for this game I had to. this game is not perfect, the story is not directly incredibly intricate but does leave lore throughout the map. The graphics are by no means ground breaking and the frame rate has crashed on me once or twice. And yet, I find that this game has transcended all expectations I’ve ever had of a phone game, transcending any expectations I’ve had for a game of any sort and easily ranking on some of the best games I’ve ever played. The game is extraordinarily simple as you know exactly what you need to do without any direct guidance from the game itself, there are no enemies you fight regularly as the game does not need it, it does not have a proper upgrade system as it does not need it and does not need any other bells and whistles you’d imagine. At the core of ‘The Pathless’, it’s a simple yet incredibly addictive and enjoyable game with an atmosphere very reminiscent of the ‘Shadow of the Colossus’. And like I said, this game has quickly become one of the best games I’ve ever played on any console and I have not even finished the story yet. Many a times, I find myself in awe of how amazing this game is and how unjust it is that this game is not a PS5 or Xbox release. To the developers: you have created a masterpiece and have set the standard for what phone games can be. I do not know how you do it, but all I ask is that you continue to release these gems. ✓ Great but crashesI love this game. It’s very fun to play and I enjoy the storyline. My only complaint is that EVERY time you play a boss, the game suddenly crashes and you have to start the chase from the beginning. You have to pause the game, turn your screen off, and then let the phone completely cool down before playing again and you have to repeat this every 30 seconds or so. I feel like I’ve spent a lot more time waiting to be able to beat the bosses than I have anything else in the game. ✓ Attention developers! Please read!Ok, to start things off, I AM THIS GAMES BIGGEST FAN. Currently I am on the mountain tundra level and I have one complaint about it, when u first see the mountain tundra, it is EXTREMELY DEPRESSING. That place is GIANT. BIG QUESTION: (on my tv) so after I defeated the snake level, I was heading towards the shoot that brings me to mountain tundra and I noticed a wolf was following me. ? Much! The animals always run away, this wolf followed me when ever I stopped he stopped and just looked at me. I think it’s fur was black but I can’t quit remember. Whaaaat was up with that?? Then later when I downloaded the Pathless onto my phone and I got to that point, no wolf. Am I missing something????????? So a few requests… The game would be soooo much better if there was an option to get hints on what to do, I got sooooo confused at the point where u learn how to fly. I could not figure it out for ages. One more thing, PLEASE MORE ANIMALS!!! And can the animals PLEASE NOT RUN AWAY WHEN U GET CLOSE!!!!! P.s. I don’t think the monsters are hard enough to defeat! ✓ A surreal, and superb experience.Now, I have played ABZŪ, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Open, relaxing, and heart wrenching, ABZŪ is idyllic, fascinating, and excellently showcased. I loved swimming through the magical open sea, playing with dolphins, and breaching the surface with rays! It was a fantastic game, and worth the money I spent on it. Changing into this game, I had set my expectations quite high, even for a mobile game…but man, did I ever gasp at this games graphics! Everything I saw was pure eye-candy, watching my character sore above the enormous pines, and dash through grassy meadows with wildlife gave me a relaxed feeling! The music is so well played, the “voice-acting” was beautiful, and really engaged me in the scenes. The boss battles were dramatic, and enjoyable; pushing you to use your wits, and strength to shoot down your opponent. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly enjoyed it! I am looking forward to advancing in the story some more, and exploring this charming, and dangerous world in The Pathless. 🦅.Version: 1.0.7
