Pokémon Masters EX for Negative User Reviews

Can’t Open AppEvery time I open the app, I get a white screen, after which I get booted out back to the home screen..Version: 1.1.0

AwfulDeleted this a while back and logged back on recently to find my data wiped. Even basic games can manage to have cloud saves, so there is no excuse a game using the Pokémon brand can’t either. More awful predator trash design to get your money. Avoid..Version: 1.6.6

Lost all progressI really enjoy this game, and have put a fair amount of time and effort into it. Unfortunately during one of the many updates iPhones go through, I had to remove the app to free up some space for said update. After the installation of the update and then reinstalling this game, it didn’t start up my previous save and wanted me to start at the beginning. Is there anything that can be done? I’ve got pretty far in the game, have some exclusive sync partners etc. I don’t want to start again, if I can’t recover my save file. I’m putting this here as there was no proper place to bring up this issue..Version: 2.1.0

BoringVery boring game not a true Pokémon game all you do is have pointless conversation and just skip half of it we want an old school map and catch Pokémon game stop with all of these horrible new styles.Version: 1.1.0

1 starI can’t kiss the best gang leader, Guzma 😡.Version: 2.23.0

Incredibly BoringEven for a mobile game, this falls short. Not only can you NOT catch Pokémon (You’re not even given a starter), you’re just stuck with Pikachu all game. I was excited for this, because I was really hoping to see what a company other than Game Freak could do, but it falls short and flat. Very boring, very stale, and no diversity..Version: 1.1.0

Great, could be betterIt shouldn’t have to constantly be connected to the Internet. That’s probably why it’s such a battery-drainer. Also, certain features could benefit by being unlocked earlier in the main story. By the time Co-Op mode is activated, story mode has become monotonous and people probably stop using the app before they ever unlock co-op, which is probably why I keep playing with NPCs after never finding a Co-Op partner. Other than that, the game does a good job of recreating a Pokémon game experience on the mobile platform. It’s weird that the music is loosely based on tracks from the games—I’d either have a combination of entirely new tracks and arrangements of old tracks, but these tracks feel like they’re teasing at nostalgia without letting you enjoy the whole track that’s in your memory. But unlocking items like pearls and gems and level-up manuals is very fun. And the best part about this game is that I’ve played for at least 48 hours and I haven’t hit the point where I’ve had to pay real money for something, which is WONDERFUL—I probably WILL spend real money on this app BECAUSE it’s not required to play through the story! Good game, Pokémon Company, but it would be perfect if a few things like these were changed..Version: 1.7.1

Not what I expectedThe graphics are below what I expected for Nintendo’s standards, it just doesn’t have the feel of a proper Pokémon game, I have played Pokémon Platinum, a bit of Black 2, Y, Omega Ruby and Sword, this game has me even more disappointed than all of these games combined, now considering the iPad I have is more powerful than a switch (iPad Mini 2019 with an A12 APU) I would at least expect graphics that are on par with the Switch, the battle style is not my cup of tea to be honest and the adding new team mates to your team by paying is quite unfair in my opinion, but if you’re used to Pokémon GO but want to see what a mainstream Pokémon game is like then I suppose this’ll give you a rough idea, but you’ll only really see a hint of a mainstream Pokémon game in there, not what I expected and is giving Nintendo a bad reputation.Version: 1.7.0

Pokefan reviewsThis game has a lot of potential to be very good the animation is great the voice overs almost match each character perfectly and the concept of triple pvp fights is good just a few issues it has is the fighting is often lagging and it doesn’t have the option for Pokémon catching like Pokémon go does but it’s not such a loss because Pokémon go fulfilled that desire and this game has some new ways to collect gym leaders I was always a fan of gym leaders in Pokémon games. I wish they made the story like the cartoon because so far of the story you have Misty and brock following you and you battle other trainers from the original. I just hope it’s not going to be a game where it forces you to click on any option based on it telling you to do. I will continue to give this game more play but I think it hasn’t got a lot of fun aspects about it yet. At least you don’t have to walk around to catch them all.Version: 1.1.0

Played for one monthI really wanted to like this. Really tried. The fact the people behind this f-ed up a game is beyond me. Without the name “Pokemon” this would have flopped so hard. The grinding for little reward is too much. I pretty much leave my phone on auto to get awards. This isn’t a game... why can’t we just have a normal Pokémon game. Everything else besides gems is basically useless after a while. And 300 gems for each sync unless you want to pay... and pay? Wow that is so much money. How greedy can you be? I’m over this. Was playing Pokémon duel before this, which was okay... better than this. But this is awful. The fact the creator of this has publicly apologized... okay. So fix it? Your fix is adding more levels? More grinding? No dude! Add more Pokémon! Add way more Pokémon and make them more accurate to what they are useful for. HOW IS ARCANINE NOT A STRIKER!? You’ve really messed up Pokémon. Please stop, and give the job to someone else to salvage. Or better yet, remove this from the App Store and create a real Pokémon game. I hope people read this and stay clear instead of wasting time like I did. I’ll give this 2 stars because it still takes a lot to create a game and I do see the people behind this making updates and trying to fix it. But unfortunately, I don’t see myself coming back to this. Cheers..Version: 1.4.0

Some things I like, some I don’tI won’t lie, this is a pretty fun game. However there are two particular things I’m disgruntled about. 1. Why are daily summons hidden behind a paywall? This is the first gacha game I’ve heard of that has done something like that. I am not planning on spending my money on this game and that fact that you have decided to do that is pretty dumb. I’m not the only one upset about this. 2. This is about the voice actors. Now, I’m a fan of and know of the majority of actors that were cast for the characters in this game, heck my friend Alejandro is one of them(he’s Roark), but wouldn’t it be possible to get the original or current anime voices of the pre-existing characters? One the voice actors in the anime, who’s name I won’t mention for privacy, expressed his sadness when he wasn’t even contacted about this game. He is one of the voices I grew up with but knowing you didn’t even bother to contact the current anime actors is a horrible move. I am absolutely sure that they would have LOVED to be in this game. In fact, in the credits, you don’t even list which actor plays who, just the actor’s name. Think about the other actors too. Please, you need to realize that they love what they do and the suddenly be replaced by someone else without their knowledge until they learn about it out of nowhere..Version: 1.1.0

Life’s not fairI was umming and ahhing about this game before it came out thinking it wouldn’t be able to live up to the other Nintendo games and Pokemon go. And I was right. It’s not grabbing my attention at all. Some of the levels are impossible at first, and it’s difficult to see how hard a battle is going to be before you start because it doesn’t show your opponents’ levels. Also, why should my opponent be able to switch out, effectively making it sometimes a 3 vs 6 match. If you have two battles within one story mission, then your Pokemon’s health remains the same while the new opponents are at full health. I would never have picked Pikachu as a starter Pokemon either. And as the game progresses, some sync pairs get neglected making them useless once you eventually need that type. Drains the battery loads. Positives; Graphics are good though. End of positives..Version: 1.1.0

Just stop... don’t... get this game.Typical grinder, get your mats level up beat next level, rinse, wash, repeat. Here’s the kicker, the potential system which is based on a star rating system 3 - 5 stars, is hugely flawed, you need 20 potential tickets to go from 3 stars to 4. Cool I’ll farm em’. Negative ghost rider you can only get those during events and three at a time. This is a problem because the lower the toons star rating the lower their lvl cap. Also the weird paywall they have, it’s kinda like a paywall but not really, because currently they hand out in game currency pretty regularly, but if you spend bucks for gems and do the sync pair scout x 10 there is absolutely no guarantee that you will get the toon you need or want so it’s a weird RNG paywall. Boring story, insane difficulty on the EX matches online to the point I can’t be matched with anyone for co-op, the auto play feature is pretty bad just let us steam roll those training matches without having to constantly hit the fight button, no way to farm Pokémon that aren’t gotten through story other then RNG, can’t join gyms and compete in PVP, the graphics are nice we get it can we speed the gameplay up? Combat is agonizingly slow. It’s almost like the Devs said to themselves “can we make a bad Pokémon game that people will spend money on? Yeah, yeah we can.” And that’s kinda what they did. So either wait a year and see if the devs get their act together or just don’t play..Version: 1.3.1

Honestly it was better in 2020I do love this game and it’s very fun, especially with the events and all the other stuff In it you can play all day without any setbacks. That’s was before they added stamina. Stamina is awful. You only get 200 extra stamina a day and the more harder the battles get the more stamina is required to do them. If you leave a battle to edit your team to find a tactics, it requires you to repay your stamina. It’s sad because it feels like they don’t want you to play the game, and it’s generally awful. You want to do an event? Well you wasted all your stamina trying to buff your team. Now you can’t do anything. You can’t battle which means you won’t be able to complete any quest which means you can’t replenish your stamina. Again, this just seems like they don’t want you to play the game. Would’ve been a four star review, but it’s really just gotten worse over time. Certainly doesn’t deserve a 4 star anymore..Version: 2.4.0

Okay for a little while...I’m just going to get straight to the point, the game is really fun, but only up to the late storyline. After that you either spend tons of money and still have to grind for a while to progress, or for F2P people you almost need to grind indefinitely. There’s no PVP or catching Pokémon, you can’t swap your own sync Pokémon (no more forced pikachu partners anymore PLEASE) and the storyline isn’t even finished yet. The plot isn’t that unique, even with tons of characters from all the regions. It’s just the same old “Pokémon are partners not servants” theme that’s been used in Pokémon countless times. Some sync pairs are completely overshadowed by stronger ones, and have little to no use due to the fact that the only effective strategy against the bots is to boost up and spam. The game does have its good points, the graphics and designs are awesome and the sync pairs all act the same way they were represented in the anime or the games. There’s tons of side stories you can do too that are pretty well made. The game could be a lot better and I’m hoping it will improve in the future by reducing the grind and balancing sync pairs to shake up the meta. It’s definitely at least worth a run through the main storyline if nothing else..Version: 1.4.0

Deleting the gameI’m done with this game I used to love it but since the last update the game crashes constantly, the game has now cost me 9000 gems and everyone knows how long it takes to save up gems. A specially 3000 to purchase 10 new Pokémon the last time I even spent 900 gems first and purchased 3, game didn’t crash at all worked fine and as soon as I purchased 10 it crashes I honestly feel like it’s on purchase. So now I’m going to delete the game and unless I get back my 9000 gems i will never play the game again or re install the game..Version: 2.0.5

👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽Fix ya bugged game carnt level Pokémon up carnt get Pokémon from shop carnt do anything stuck with Pokémon still on level ten because carnt get into the level up section because it keeps crashing am considering of uninstalling.Version: 2.8.1

Fun, but Extremely FlawedEnjoyable, but gets extremely grindy extremely quickly. Granted, that’s something of a general issue with this style of game, but the necessity of changing your team every chapter exacerbates it massively here. Separating gems into Paid and Unpaid is a bit low on the developer’s part. My biggest complaint is that they really, really need to sort out the issue with recommended power shown on the levels being way too low. It’s supposed to be a guide to indicate whether you have a decent chance at winning and being at almost double the recommended power and still completely unable to pass a level is utterly infuriating. The power scaling in general seems off. There are many levels where even your most powerful attacks take off the barest sliver of health from your opponent, while they knock off giant chunks of yours with barely a whisper of effort..Version: 1.7.1

Great Game, but...The fact that there’s FREE and PAID Gems in this game keeps this review from being 5 stars. This game has really engaging gameplay, awesome character art and animations, flashy Sync moves and more, but this one issue I have really brings down the experience for me. The fact that if I want to participate in a summoning event that’s limited time, and the only way I can participate is pay over $30 AUS dollars is asinine! Also, earning Gems in this game is a massive grind! Like, I play Gacha games and I’ve dumped hundreds of hours into other Gacha games, but the grind in Masters is just too much. It’s gonna be tough to be free player down the road if this game doesn’t improve these issues, I might just leave it and play other, better Gachas..Version: 1.1.1

Please FixI’d love to play the game but when I load the game, it white screens and crashes. It’s a shame I had to leave this poor review..Version: 1.1.0

Fun game butThis game is really fun but there’s still a lot that needs to be fixed. The game sometimes freezes or takes forever to load when I want to load the battles. I know it’s not my internet because it works for all my consoles and laptop with no issues. I would rather have a team of 6 Pokémon, not 3. And the fact you can’t pick your starter is a let down. It would also be nice have more options to make my character unique(clothes, hairstyles etc.) Another recommendation I have is for the exchange and to be able to mass exchange the same item if you have more than ten. It’s annoying have to go back and click on the same item if you have more than 10 of it. Loving the game so far and I’ve hooked on it but I wish summoning was cheaper. And also make it so that a Pokémon has more than one weakness. Not just that water is weak against grass but also electric. I can’t wait to see how this game improves! I have a few more recommendations for the game that is to make the evolution stones cheaper since for the 3rd evolution is overpriced and there’s much of an option to earn coins. I can see 300, 000 for all 3 stones but not just one. And grinding for items to release the level cap is annoying and takes too long. Especially to get the gym notes. I don’t want to uninstall this game but for the moment, it’s not an enjoyable experience..Version: 1.1.1

Update has made levelling impossibleStarted playing this with my son so that we could team up for battles. Was a fun game. However since the latest upgrades, there is no possibility of raising any team past 100 as the varying levels for cap lock have been removed o be replaced by one battle, which cannot be won by any teams of lvl 100. Instead of levelling up teams under the old system past 100 we have been building all of our teams up to 100 which we then planned to upgrade further. As it is all the main missions have been completed to 25 on normal and hard but there is nowhere left to go until they fix the no progression bug in the cap lock battles. Would not recommend this game to new players expecting to be able to play this long term as you will not be able to progress any team past 100. Would suggest this gets fixed. I will no longer be playing until it is made to be playable again..Version: 2.0.0

CrashingMy game keeps crashing when I play it really annoying plz stop it.Version: 2.13.0

Worst gacha game ever playedNever before played a game with such horrible pull rates, been playing for a few months now, close to when it was released and so far the only 5* I can use is Rosa the free sync pair. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve played many gacha games before like 7k, FGO, King’s Raid etc and the grind is frustrating but at least it’s fun and progressive after the grind, this game however feels unrewarding especially when you get stuck with nothing else to do except work on all your 3* with max bonds since that’s all the game gives you..Version: 1.4.0

Game crashesGame crashes when I try to open the app When I try to open it, it shows a white screen for a few seconds and then crashes.Version: 1.1.0

Download glitchI have tried to download the content for this game 3 times. I have cleared the cashe each time and it glitches out when you get to around 75%. I liked the intro, but useless when you can’t continue.Version: 2.25.0

Won’t even start upHi I get to the introduction where blue is about to show me how to battle, the screen goes black and then nothing. I’m playing on a 2019 iPad Air..Version: 2.6.0

Gets repetitive and grindy after a decent start. Potentially unplayable on older devices.Interesting take on the mainline Pokémon mechanics, not too hard to get adjusted to. No offline mode. Uses the annoying 2 stage updates/download (update once on app store, another time inapp). Support is either lazy or not given much power to help users (i.e. can only direct you to lower game quality settings, nothing more) Recent events (timed and prestige events) become stale extremely fast, making it feel less fun and more grindy. Multiplayer is pretty barren, with little to no improvement made (ending up with slow runs). Warning for older device users: If you're new to the game, make sure to setup the filters for each and every option in the sync pairs lists (e.g. filter by type & star level), since when you reach a certain point (of sync pairs) the game would crash when trying to load the sync pairs (very old bug, retriggered by the new filter update reseting all old presets). For old/returning players after the new update reset filter options, you're kinda screwed if you already hit that point. Trying to view sync pairs may result in crashes. It's unlikely they'll address it either, given their stance that any bugs are the issue of the user with support unable to provide any assistance in this matter..Version: 2.5.1

GemsI think you should allow players to get gems without paying for them it’s too confusing for people I thought I had gems but they were unpaid for please allow us to get gems without spending money.Version: 2.0.0

Not working rightI was doing the tutorial as normal and it was really just great it’s an amazing game. but when I finished the tutorial and it told me to download the main story. it was ok till I actually tried to download it an error came up saying I still need roughly 3464 megabytes out of 3464 megabytes. so I checked my settings and I still had about 6.7 gigabytes. I went back to test to see if it was just a one time thing so when I got back on the game I didn’t expect it to still say I had got no space available even though I still had 6.7 gigabytes. I tried and tried again but I still haven’t been able to play it at all to this day. Please give me some advice..Version: 2.27.0

Game is not workingSo I had this game notified when it became available to download. I downloaded as soon as the message popped up. The game has never loaded a single image besides a white screen for me and then crash. I’ve redownloaded and still no success. I am on iOS 12.0 and no, I will not update my phone because it should be able to run on say.. iOS 10 or so. Fix your game..Version: 1.1.0

CrashesWhite screen before it opens I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling it nothing works.Version: 2.39.0

Poor account recoveryLinking to Nintendo ID is pointless as they restrict the save file to Apple ID anyway. If you have to make a new Apple ID as I had to you can’t use your Nintendo ID to recover your save file. It’s really flawed as you don’t have this issue with other games on the App Store where you can recover your progress on a new Apple ID. Customer Support didn’t care to resolve this issue, they were helpless. The game is just a gambling tactic anyway hidden behind the Pokémon IP and mini games. I feel bad for anyone who has been extorted by the steep costs of gems this game offers. Game started out great on release but they’ve just added so much and used power creep over time to pull people in when really the game has gone down in quality..Version: 2.37.1

CrashesHaven't been able to open up the game since launch, keeps crashing.Version: 1.1.0

Welcome to unbalanced cash grab the gameHas no potential, did say it had but after today’s event no way, have fun with limited events, seriously Pokemon is applying FOMO to this? Now it is a cash grab, Well down to 1 star from 2but wow is it unbalanced to hell you can’t increase Pokemon potential until chapter 10 meaning you’ll have max level Pokemon by chapter 3 and after that it becomes you need these specific skills to win the battles. You’d think pikachu endure passive would be end game things, nope it’s for chapter 8. Once you hit these walls the game plays itself while you grind blends in the training section. Cause you need 150 to get 3 ultra blends. Also note there is only 65 sync pairs as of launch, no Cynthia or Diantha (they are probably gonna be limited events) who are shown on the launch screen and even if they were added it’s not like you can use your favourite 3 with how dependant the game is with weaknesses and skills. Gacha system can apparently give doubles so how fun, wouldn’t know since I haven’t tried it no may, dawn, serena, mallow, Lana, Lillie or lusamine. Probably won’t play this much longer since it really is just a meh game. Shame things like this isn’t in the main game with more balance and tweaking but then again can’t complain much about a free mobile game except wish that it was a paid product instead..Version: 1.1.0

A few problemsFirst off the idea and the look is amazing but there are a few problems, I’m against leer and honestly if u want me to throw my phone keep it the same but honestly he needs changing! I had a good team all lvl 100 and honestly can’t beat the stupid man we are all super effective towards him! Also u should re consider some of the moves, like double edge if leer is going to use it so often and almost 1 hit me why is he taking a baby amount of recoil damage, in the games it’s “a lot of recoil damage” this game also needs to try complete one pokemon before going onto the next like can you please do sceptile so he mega evolves and don’t give us torchic or oshawat unless we can evolve them cos there useless and weak other wise. I’m sorry to be so negative but honestly quite a few things need changing especially in the shop, why if the chance of a duplicate so common I want to get all the Pokemon sync pairs but when I used the latest “sorry patch note gems” I got one new sync pair and that wasn’t even 4 stars I’m just a bit annoyed how 4700 gems all are duplicate sync pairs, and what is worse is I only have a few sync pairs and not very many!.Version: 1.4.0

Unacceptable restrictionsI find it really annoying that there is no way to grind for gems in this game in order to obtain a character you really want apart from saving up for a few weeks but by that point he character you may want is likely gone by then the only other way to get gems in this game is paying real money and I find that unacceptable and greedy no one should be paying you money for gems on a character they might not even be guaranteed to get thus they may be persuaded to continuously shill money into the game until they get what they want which I hate with a passion even games like Arknights have the annihilation missions where you can earn a set amount of orundum each week with the catch that these missions are hard and long to complete (even if I also feel that it can be improved by being daily or by daily or increasing how much orundum can be obtained with how hard and long it can be to finish the missions initially and how small windows to obtain new characters are) why not do something similar in the training area where the player can earn a certain amount of gems daily/ bidaily or have a certain amount of times they can fight the stage like what’s already done with the evolution stones then have there be different amounts of gems depending if you beat the stage on easy, normal, hard, etc because literally anything is better than nothing and blatantly trying to nickel and dime your players.Version: 2.14.0

GemsWhy do I have to use paid gems instead of the ones I get from missions and stuff.Version: 1.5.0

Plz improveHello I only played this game for a few hours before deleting it and that is because there are LOTS of problems with this game. There is literally no freedom whatsoever you are either battling or tapping the screen waiting for a cutscene to end. If i want to go to the pokemon center to switch around my teammates or something let me do that. What makes the problem worse is that when we first get access to the Pokémon Centre and we are allowed to change your teammates there is a big annoying finger-pointing the only one we can pick and I'm pretty sure that if you try to pick any other character literally nothing happens this is really annoying this game really needs more freedom it's worse than sun and moon sword and shield and X and Y put together i it makes Pikachu with your starter it is really annoying and just pandering to game freak desire for everyone to love Pikachu and the other kanto Pokémon I think it would be better if you have the option to choose the latest starters in the game like the alola starters or the galar starters instead of just the kanto starters I love them but I'm really sick of seeing them everywhere Sorry this review is really wrong but plz read this and fix it.Version: 2.4.0

Not recommendedFirst being stuck with only one Pokémon is stupid. There is no open map which I was hoping for and no catching of any other Pokémon at all. Hence the one Pokémon. This game is NOT worth it at all. It’s boring... very boring..Version: 1.1.0

Upping the level cap is the last straw!First of all this game is quite buggy. The company regularly makes errors but does try to make up for this by giving away gems, fair enough, at least they are trying. However... when they go and nerf the Pokemon you have, so you need to invest more in the game to get them back up to the level that they were previously at, I’m looking at the example of Treeko there. The company even said Treeko is really powerful and doesn’t need to evolve and then they decided to introduce its evolution and nerf it. Now they’ve introduced level 120. WTH is that. All the main series games only go up to level 100 and that’s what this game went up to. Now you’ve gone and raised the cap. You’ll probably nerf my current mons too. Enough is enough... uninstalled..Version: 1.4.0

Cashmon Ma$$$tersThe game itself looks really good and has a great and interesting battle mechanic. However, mechanics such as evolving your Pokémon and trying to get better trainers and be overall better at the game is massively hindered by early pay walls or should I say, pay hills. Expending money in game will not guarantee your progress as well, as the grind is loooong and tedious. Probably, it’s not too long now until a subscription model is also implemented in game. I would much rather have paid for the game in the first place and not have the grind and cash grab mechanics implemented. It also lacks PVP which would have been perfect to a game like this. I was really looking forward to this game but unfortunately, it is a big disappointment..Version: 1.1.1

Fun but limitedBefore I go into this I just want to say that the game is fun and I love the concept, and is worth the download. There is co-op with friends which makes sense for a 3v3 style game. Now as for the negatives, there are a few big ones. My biggest one is no pvp. Pvp has always been a big part of Pokémon for me cuz me and my friends always loved battling each other, and hearing the devs say that it wasn’t going be in the game made me very sad that I couldn’t get that experience. I think it’s a little dumb that just because “It’s about cooperation” that you shouldn’t give the returning Pokémon fans the same experience. The gems are another thing. They shouldn’t have made paid gems and free gems a different thing. Your pushing micro transactions too hard for a franchise that already makes enough as is, and giving you 1 five star for paying 30 dollars is dumb because I got one on my first rng trainer. Lastly, grinding is too big of a thing if you don’t pay. Around chapter 4 and 5, I was too under leveled and on chapter 6, I was at max level (level 30 for 3 star characters) and was still too weak to do it, making me grind for 4 star or above of the right type trainers, and then grind for the levels for them. Like I said it’s still fun, but very limited to most players and I probably won’t stay on it for long unless they make changes..Version: 1.1.0

Good but no fan base for this titleThe graphics and effort put into this game is really impressive! I love Pokemon and I think this is another great attempt at a mobile game. The Pokémon company keep trying to conquer the app stores but every time their games/fan bases falls off a cliff, no different this time. The game requires online co-op to get the very best items for your roster but as previously mentioned there isn’t a reliable fan base to play alongside, there is still an alternative but you have to wait in a lobby for around half a minute each time, then you’ll be assigned 1 or 2 below mediocre NPC’s which fight alongside you blindly hitting and hoping with no obvious game play mechanics other than RNG. I don’t think being lucky is a sustainable strategy so I can’t give more than 2* for what could be a great game!.Version: 2.4.0

I keep getting errors10009 had to delete redownload to restart it also a little nick pick nothin much as for deleting the game again because of accidentally pressing go without linking account instead of linking Nintendo account to then tryin to close app and reopen to wasted time of having to restart from square one anyway anytime trying to open store I get error 10104 I feel like the app closing happens more often then my refilling my 1.5 little water bottle 2 to 4 times a day ruins the immersion when playing.Version: 2.37.1

No choice or variety! While the game looks visually appealing and the writing is good the gameplay is terribly lacking and fails to capture what makes Pokemon so appealing in my opinion. With only 54 or so Trainer/Pokemon combos in the game (so far) all with preset moves, abilities and stats the idea of Pokemon individuality and variety gets thrown out the window. You also have no choice in what duo you unlock and instead have to pay gems to get given them randomly or progress through the story, because of this the game is less about you finding / building a team and more about just picking whatever is the best type match-up for the stage and feeding them items to level up and unlocking those preset moves/abilities to pass. (Also evolutions are barely in the game!!?) On the plus side other then the visuals, writing and characters the game doesn’t have any limiters to stop you playing. (Other then the killer battery drain) Overall the game gets a bit bland after a few days and progressing through doesn’t seem to unlock anything more to do other then the same repetitive gameplay but it did just come out so I could see this getting fixed in the future, there are still underlining issues I have with the game mentioned above that I doubt will be fixed in the future though..Version: 1.1.0

Hot trashHard earned gems can’t buy anything. Special bonuses when you buy gems for a made up ridiculous price and use them to purchase “paid gem only” scout packs, even a daily discount on 1x scout pack for paid gems but not with in game earned gems which are a slow grind to get. Early game is ridiculous because you earn 1 & 2 star upgrade materials yet there is no 1 & 2 star sync pairs. Only reason for a download is for the great Pokémon name... battles aren’t even fun and can just auto battle through the game and skip the dialogue making it a pointless battery burner cash grab.Version: 1.1.0

A little disappointed.I consider myself a fairly big fan of Pokémon. I’ve played all the mainline games, and quite a few of the spin offs, including a lot of the Pokémon mobile games. This one sadly, just isn’t doing it for me. I can see why a lot of people will enjoy this game. The animations are very nice, and seeing all these legendary trainers in one place is great fan service. That’s why I’ve given the game three stars, because I know other people will adore these features, as well as the new real time battle system. However, I found it hard to get used to this battle system. It felt jarring when you compare it to the likes of Pokémon Go, or even the new Pokémon rumble mobile game. Those were a lot simpler to understand. The other thing that I really can’t get past with this game is something most free mobile games suffer from; micro transactions. They are pretty much shoved in your face at the start. I don’t understand why they can’t stick with the model that Super Mario Run had; give a free trial of the game, with the option of a one time payment for the full title. Even if they priced it at £7.99, it would still tempt me to buy it because I know I will be not be paying anything else. Anyway, to conclude, I would actually recommend this game to Pokémon lovers and Gacha style games enthusiasts, but sadly, it’s just not for me..Version: 1.1.0

Fixable problemsI want to love this game. But there are some very simple issues that surprisingly haven’t been addressed. Something extremely simple to fix would be the ability to look at a Pokémon and sync pair and view its details. It’s impossible to do this. Why should I spend money in a game that won’t let me actually view what I bought? When you click on a Pokémon/sync pair all it does is switch it out onto your current team, making it impossible to simply view the Pokémon and evaluate its stats and abilities etc. Seems like a really simple feature, not sure how they missed that. Secondly, removing the auto battle feature, or reducing how much it does, would help this abs countless other games. It’s tough to not get bored quickly with a game that you can simply choose auto battle. Most people have a hard time choosing to manually battle when there is the much quicker and simpler option of auto battle, the problem is that when you play a game with a total auto option it gets boring extremely quickly. Let us look at our Pokémon, and also get more involved in battles, and you’ll have a much more interesting game that keeps players from deleting after an hour of monotony..Version: 2.7.0

As a Veteran yet New PlayerI've played since the first day, but never really got into the actual gameplay other than completing the battles that give the legendary sync pair such as Zinnia or the MC. However, around the stamina update, I got more into the game and actually started caring for the gameplay and not just the gacha aspect. But, when I did, I noticed how far behind I was on EVERYTHING! My Skyla wasn't at 3/5 yet or my Iris wasn't at 5 Star yet... etc..., but I wasn't able to do so easily because of how getting those are designed. While I understand that you should work for these type of upgrades, it is so hard to get these upgrades. Every time there is a new Full-Force battle for the events, I barely bother because I don't have any of the upgrades to be able to beat them. Well, woops guess that's MY fault for not being able to do this old event and having no way to get that opportunity again. I love this game, and it is by far my favorite piece of Pokémon media, but I really wish there were better ways of letting new players/those who missed out get the upgrades that veterans have. The gacha box from the rerun of the Zinnia event is a good start, but I wish it was much more. Please and Thank you :).Version: 2.2.0

A cash-grab from DeNAI’ll start off with the positives. The game has pretty graphics and has plenty of characters from past Pokemon games and the silent protagonists have personalities and voices now, which is great. It’s nice fan service for long-time Pokemon fans and it’s fun to see characters interact with each other. However, the gameplay is quite boring and lacking, and there’s bit of a grind as well. Luckily there’s no stamina limitation, so it’s not too bad. The game is quite stingy with its premium currency and takes such a long time to do a multi-pull from the gacha. What upsets me is that the game isn’t generous and doesn’t offer much freebies to its players. The game hit over 10 million downloads and yet there was no reward milestone offered unlike other gacha games. DeNA is going to milk the game thanks to the Pokemon IP. The game is kinda P2W as you need the top tier characters from the gacha to deal with most of the challenging content and dupes are needed to make characters better. Give the game a try, but don’t bother spending any money on this game. Spend your money on actual Pokemon games and get your money’s worth..Version: 1.1.1

A fun game marred by launch day issuesThis is a game that people have been eagerly awaiting. With initial launch dates being moved backwards and forwards, it’s finally out, but should we have waited longer? After completion of the initial tutorial and additional data download, the game is made completely unplayable by ‘check connection’ errors every 5 seconds. On the plus side, the game itself seems fun from what little of the game I have been able to experience. The story so far is what i would expect from a pokemon mobile title, and the new real time combat mechanics are actually fun, if not a bit laggy. It could rank higher later when launch issues are worked out..Version: 1.1.0

Great Pokémon game CONCEPTThe idea is nice, the battle format is actually good, and the animations and graphics are definitely nothing to laugh at. I’m having a huge bug issue right now where I have about 3,600 gems yet I cannot even buy anything from the in game Market with them and keeps telling me I have no gems to spend and directs me to purchase some. Yeah I’m not buying any gems if I clearly have enough to buy the 10 sync pack. The story feels really short and rushed, and I wish you could battle other people instead of with someone against the cpu otherwise there’s no point in me investing time or money into building a solid team. The characters are loveable and memorable. Honestly the game concept itself is great but it still needs more. I don’t understand why we can’t battle against other people but we can battle with them. There’s no issue connecting with other people already so why not just make some kind of rank system to play in. A lot of games have it and it would be pretty cool to see Pokémon have one. Pokémon is all about battling with your favorite teams so why wouldn’t it have some kind of battle system. Please don’t give us whatever abomination Pokémon Go battling is... if the market was fixed and I could actually use my gems I would not mind spending money for more characters to level up. There’s just no reason to even build a team because aside from the story, there’s no one to use the team against making it a waste..Version: 1.1.0

Everything is great except …I love so many things about this game! The animation is so pretty, the rewards are great, the strategy is so much fun, and the controls are so smooth! But I wish they’d match the Pokémon correctly to their trainers. It’s really frustrating seeing Dawn with a Turtwig instead of her Piplup. I felt even more frustration seeing Winona with no Altaria!! Winona is KNOWN for being the Queen of the Sky in Hoenn because her Altaria is so strong with her ability to stack Dragon Dance over and over again. It feels like this game ignores important facts about Ruby & Sapphire, which is quite disheartening. Also, I’m sure many fans (myself included) would want to keep May in her cute outfits from the TV series, and have her sync pair with her Beautifly! Also, why is Ash there but Serena has a Greninja instead of him - and she’s a champion?! This girl didn’t fight a proper full battle in the TV series but now she became a champion?! Like how?? Serena should be with her Sylveon instead. It would also make more sense (and be really cool) if Ash was there in his Kalos animation & outfit, with Greninja’s sync move being able to evolve into Ash-Greninja and using his ultra huge Water Shuriken! Also, I wish they’d have Dawn in her Sinnoh grand festival outfit with Buneary, who can then evolve into Lopunny and then turn into Mega Lopunny with a cool fighting move! I always wished that’d happen in the TV series, so I really want to see it happen in this game!! I also I think it’s super weird how Red refuses to talk - AT ALL. When I finally got him, his greeting phrase was (I kid you not), “ … … … “. Also, Wallace’s Milotic doesn’t know any strong water type moves, but what bothers me most is his weird outfit. Why couldn’t they have him dress the way he did in the Wallace Cup episode in Diamond & Pearl?? He looked much better in that outfit! They also changed the shape of his eyes so that he doesn’t look handsome anymore. This game has so much potential, but because they get the Pokémon matchups wrong, I feel people who don’t really care about Pokémon made the game. I want to keep playing, but this feeling of carelessness towards characters and their Pokémon matchups makes me question whether I should continue playing. Hopefully these are just mistakes and the game developers will fix them soon! If you’re not a huge fan of Pokémon you’ll enjoy the game. But if you’re a huge fan like me, and you see the sync pairs as they are right now, prepare to be disheartened about the characters you love..Version: 2.40.0

At first, great gameBut then, and so suddenly, the developers have apparently stopped listening to the player feedback. Which makes this game 100% pay to play. Not worth your time. I wish they had listened to the players more, who would’ve helped this game become constant and stable. And fun. But the devs do not listen, which has become apparent if you play the game for long enough. All of the fun that this game provided has been sucked out of it. I’m severely disappointed because I really loved this game and I love pokemon. But they made it about money. Try this game because it’s free but don’t spend a cent on it because they don’t care about you..Version: 2.2.5

Please make the level up manuals easier to getI just started really playing this game and it was really fun at first. But I’m really starting to have a lot of problems with it. First typing if you don’t have the specific type weakness that it shows on their pokemon your not going to do any damage. For example let’s say a grass type is weak to fire and ice. When u get in the game it only says its weak to fire, but from my pokemon knowledge it’s weak to both. But when u hit it with a ice type move it barely does anything. I just started the game and I don’t have a lot of resources to level up. Usually in games if you need things to help your character level up like in dokkan battle you do quests for it which are long but easy. Why is it that I need a whole 20k power team to get the items to level up my pokemon. I can’t do that cuz I needed the level up manuals in the first place. I think they should of made that easier. When your battling you need to have a bunch of teams so you can have the advantage and beat them in the story. I can’t level my pokemon at all so I’m struggling please make the level up manual quests easier. It’s like you can’t have anything if you are a new player. I saw people being able to increase their move gauge which is NOT in the shop for some reason. People getting thousands of level up manuals when I can’t even get 10. I’m really like this game but right now I’m stuck because I can’t level up any of my pokemon.Version: 1.11.0

Shameful repetitive cash grabThe game itself is enjoyable enough for the first few hours. However after a while it becomes painfully apparent that you are in for the mother of all grinds if you do not fork over cash. And not just a little cash. I’m talking lots of cash....Buying AAA console games levels of cash. If you do not pay when you hit a difficult opponent you are expected to repeatedly grind the same “training” fights dozens and dozens of times in order to progress. they even added an auto fight button and a three times speed mode because it’s not about skill or gameplay it’s just doing the same fight over and over and over and over and over..... unless of course you pony up. This game runs my phone hot and kills my battery very quickly, and for that sacrifice I get no enjoyment as all I’m doing is clicking fight and waiting a couple of minutes for the fight to auto resolve for the hundredth time. So much potential with so much disappointment. For shame.Version: 1.1.0

One of the bettter Gacha games.I’m a massive Pokémon fan and this was my first experience with a gacha game. It seems to be alright for a Gacha, but that’s not saying much. It doesn’t have a rich story to back up your time like Fate Grand Order apparently does, but it also doesn’t have an annoying energy system like many mobile games do. One less thing to sink money on is always appreciated. The micro transaction split makes me sad; there are certain transactions you can only purchase if you use currency you paid for. On principle, I am disappointed in this; greed of this sort is seeping into so many of mainstream games thanks to mobile. Still, the game gives you the best character both game wise and character wise for free anyway, so there isn’t too much of a push to use the microtransactions. Don’t really see why people say this game is pay to win though; game seems just as easy paid as free. In summary, for a Gacha game, it’s beautifully animated, has simplistic gameplay without an energy system in addition to a mediocre story, and microtransactions that aren’t too obtrusive but are ridiculous if you actually decide to pay. One of the better Gacha games especially if you like Pokémon characters, but still definitely a Gacha game with not too much to it gameplay wise..Version: 1.1.0

HmmmUses a lot of memory....Version: 1.1.0

As a Longtime Pokemon FanLiking the game as it feels like the traditional Pokemon game when it comes to dialogue and corniness of how people act (which is a nice reminiscent). The Gacha system seems a bit weird at first but tbf, all games from Japan are like that. The gameplay is alright though I have a massive problem with that. Type matchups are inconsistent. It feels like each Pokemon have their primary typing (dual type Pokemon have a Primary and sub type) as their main attacking and each Pokemon is weak too only one type. This feels so lacking and such because Pokemon types have different weaknesses and resistances which is annoying when a primary grass pokemon isn’t weak to fire but rather flying (Rosa is an example). For some long time fans who know proper match typing for certain Pokemon will get thrown off by this system. Second Problem is the lack of a choice of a Pokemon for your trainer (the player) being limited by a Pikachu. Let me say that Pikachu is aight but far from my favorite Pokemon. It would be better if we could choose our Pokemon (within reason) would lead us to use them (the player’s character) more often instead of replacing them with a Pokemon trainer with a different Pokemon that they might like or for usefulness..Version: 1.1.1

Was pretty upsetI spent so much time on this game until an update cause my game to be stuck so I deleted it and reinstalled it without backpack and crashed a few times aftwards.Version: 1.2.0

Honest ReviewI have played many pokemon games over the years, on many different systems and this one fell short of my expectations. First of all the game is way to easy, and within less than 2 hours of gameplay time I beat every single story mission, and had three level 5 star characters all at level 85, and the ending or continuation is lacking as it just says this is as far as the game goes in a message. although i could have kept playing and maxed my characters out at 100, i did not see the point. The game istelf is too linear and the attempt to add on any free roam is pointless and linear as well. The replay value is pointless because you can get anything you need in training rooms within seconds. I find is tedious to play mission just for story thats two sentences the its complete....just add the to the next misison so it isnt a waste of time. P.s. pokemon games now with the internet are about being the strongest and playing online. either focus on the story and go big on that or go big on multiplayer, but this game fails in both regards. the multiplayer is basically you sharing attack turns with other players against a computer, and it isnt even a stronger player thay you couldnt beat yourself. thats all, no communicating with anyone or actually battling. The only beight side is seeing characters from other games all in one and the fact that in only took 2 hours of gameplay and didnt waste a lot of my time..Version: 1.1.0

There is potential but it has problems that need fixingThis is a game that shows promise and could be quite addictive. It has great graphics, a nice story and make most characters seem very interesting. Unfortunately the game ends up as a pay to win disappointment. You can see it in the new EX stages being released that are built to require the new premium unit. Very little updates and the rewards are a joke especially the login rewards. Price of scouting is too high and gem rewards are too low and infrequent. We need a bonus for every 10 scout pulls done. Another problem is that it makes a phone battery extremely hot and can quickly drain it. I have hope that the developers will eventually change their ways because the current method is very unpopular with players. In the future it would be nice to have top trainers from other Pokemon media involved such as Paul from the Sinnoh anime and Red from the manga. It would be cool if hitting a Pokemon with a move that is normally super effective in the games but not in this game did slightly more damage than usual-somewhere between super effective and normal damage in this game..Version: 1.2.0

Kinda fun, but too difficultI will say they’re generous with the free gems and summon rates. Managed to get most of the highlighted guest summons with ease all free. Gameplay is very boring though mainly because the enemies seem to be overpowered so it’s a race in every battle to get your sync move useable and even then at later levels it’s not enough. Unless I’m missing a huge part of the content which is designed to strengthen your team. I’ll even enter a attle which seems like should be doable like a training one to get resources where I am max level and I barely scratch the enemy. With no way to further strengthen my team I’ve now deleted the app. I like difficulty but when every enemy battle is a quick mash of buttons to use a sync move which now isn’t even nearly enough.... Nan boring..Version: 2.0.5

I just don’t get itYou have taken a great game with great core mechanics and butchered them. Pro’s (not many) - good graphics / animation - abilities and special moves seem less invasive and detached as they have in recent Pokémon games. - storyline seems interesting enough Contra’s - no moving mechanics (as far as i have played up to) the whole thing is a storyline and you move from one frame to another which you can look around in to interact with things in view. - battle system is weird, the real-time/turn system didnt work for FF so why try it here? Also you only play using 3 Pokémon at a time, I’m all for when they brought in the doubles and hey maybe even use some triple fights on occasion, but not for all fights... this system has lost all strategy for me, you just spam between the Pokémon and moves attacking as quickly as possible.. I basically was hoping for a typical Pokémon game with what looked yo be some pretty cool graphics imo, and thought the advertised 3 person fight was more a one off or event thing that happened on occasion. Overall it is fun-ish but you could swap out the images of the creatures and you wouldn’t know it was a Pokémon game..Version: 1.11.0

It’s good, but there’s definitely room for improvement(Venting)The only reason I’m giving it 1 star is because UI design team for this app was either fired or they stopped showing up for work back in 2012. The UI is so busy, all the menus look different, there’s so much clutter and it’s very distracting from the overall amazing gaming experience. Like I am not a fly, and you don’t need to grab my attention every time I go to a different screen like “look at the shiny! What’s that shiny thing over there!” It may seem a bit harsh given the great quality of the gaming aspect, but never the less. This app needs a major revamp of its entire UI concept. You have like 50 menus, before you can play or do something interesting. The purpose and the categories of the menus makes no sense at all. You wouldn’t need a tutorial every time you “unlock a new section of the game” if you would of designed it in a more coherent manner. It seems like every time you wanted to add a game mechanic you just piled it on top of what you already had. Every new thing you add to the game just feels like an after thought. “Hey I know how we can make this game more interesting and make more money in the process! Let’s make it more complex, add more information than necessary, make everything difficult to find. And just add more tutorials so people can get frustrated to figure things out” Honestly, the complexity and bloated-ness of this app is what keeps me walking away from this app..Version: 2.38.0

Game breaking crashesI really want to play this game, but because I'm on an older device, I'm getting more and more restricted in what i can do. Without fail, every time i open a menu that pulls up all of my obtained characters, the game crashes instantly because it cant handle loading all of the characters i assume, and it gets worse the more characters i’ve unlocked. Because of this, i can no longer edit teams, level up characters, unlock level caps, level up theme skills, give lucky skills, level up sync grids, or access the potential & move level option. Summoning has also become pointless as i have no way to use the characters I obtain. The only characters i can use are those i was able to put on a team while i was still able to barely eek past the character list crash, which amounts to only six total. The rest are trapped behind a screen that crashes whenever i look at it. Please please adjust how the character menu works so that i may continue to play this game, as i truly do want to play it. However, without all these upgrades and a limited cast of usable characters, i see my future self quickly becoming unable to progress in the game at all. I would gladly rate higher if this problem did not exist, but cannot justify it now with such an unavoidable issue as this..Version: 2.14.0

Boring and repetitiveTo much dialogue, not enough incentive to progress through the game daily and no clear story line. There’s a seperate spending process of paid and non-paid which doesn’t look appealing. The game feels very restricted into what you can do, and needs a more open story much like the main games on 3ds. The concept wasn’t very good to begin with in my opinion as you’re basically stuck with three trainers unless you level others up with an item which takes away the grind of the game. Overall, it’s an alright game to begin with, but after an hour you don’t play it again..Version: 1.1.0

Repetitive gameplay and necessary in game purchases!I’ve been playing this game a fair bit lately recently finishing chapter 5 (not sure whether that’s far into the game or not) but the gameplay has just become dull. To power up your characters to beat the next stages you just have to go back and repeat chapters you’ve already completed which as you can imagine is frustrating. Not only that but after getting enough gems to buy 10 sync pairs which would guarantee me a 5star pair, I find out that the 3,000 gems I acquired were non paid as I got them through completing missions and I need to use 3,000 paid gems? How pointless, what a dumb game mechanic and now I’m unsure what the non paid gems are for. Hopefully they improve the game and soon..Version: 1.1.0

Fun Game but huge error in direction.Honestly I will give the game 3/5 because the animations are cool and the storyline is neat, and it’s unique to Pokémon. Honestly though in making this game they made a massive mistake. You took a franchise that’s all about collecting, leveling, evolution, and mainly battling and turned it into a fully focused PvE game. It’s 2019 and even during red, and blue back in the day after you beat the game all there was to do was collect, trade to evolve, and link up to battle. You took the main aspect out of Pokémon which is to be the best and battle it’s literally in the original song. It’s so sad there is nothing competitive about this game I really wanted to like it, and was prepared to put some money into it to get the trainers I liked, but honestly there’s no point in spending a dime on this game you can beat the whole game without spending any money and it’s super easy. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME DO NOT SOEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME. If you want to Kill time best the story there is no end game. There is no competitiveness. I was hoping this would make up for how Sword and Shield was looking but honestly at least sword and shield has PvE and PvP and end game battling with other players. I wish this company the best of luck with this game but without end game and a reason to spend money you won’t succeed and pvp is a reason a story line isn’t..Version: 1.1.0

Shallow gameplay, unrewarding experienceAfter Dragalia Lost set a high standard for mobile game experiences for me, I have to be disappointed at the paltry offerings here. The currency for the gacha is rewarded at a snails pace. There’s no incentive to save for a multi summon. From day 1, this game requires you to spend money to access guaranteed 5 star units. The grind wouldn’t be so bad if the gameplay itself was captivating enough, but it leaves a lot to be desired. Battles feel slow even on the 3x speed setting, and prior knowledge of Pokémon mechanics won’t be helpful. Each Pokémon is strong or weak vs one type only, so any knowledge of type matchups you have won’t serve you very well. Visually it looks good, and the character voices are great, but this isn’t enough to keep me coming back when the gameplay just isn’t fun or thought provoking..Version: 1.1.1

Good Until “The Cycle” ComesFor all it’s worth, the game is definitely a cut above the previous applications that have been presented to us. Naturally as an avid Pokémon fanatic since childhood I give every app a chance and this one impressed me. It gets a little bit repetitive and boring after a while because of how prolonged and strenuous the leveling up process is. I think the items that can be purchased with gems should be expanded to beyond just lottery selections (e.g. - once you reached a certain level cap, leveling up beyond that requires a large amount of training books — a process that may take hours for nearly achieved only to get to the end and become too tired to even want to continue on.) There’s no P2P battles which takes away from the traditional Pokémon experience, so It’s enjoyable but after a while, it becomes a hassle and almost a “job” to be able to continue to enjoy the game if that makes sense. Also, do not delete the app, I had to learned the hard way that it does not save and/or link with your Apple Game Center account. You will have to start from square 1 if you do, another reason why loyalty to this app and enjoyment of it sits on a adjustable tilt. Either it’s really fun or really terrible...Version: 1.7.1

Hopeful improvementsI enjoy the game played since day one...I’ve got no problems with the gatcha summons (don’t always get the mons I want) Only problem I have is the stamina system took at least 60-70% of the fun out of the game ether remove completely or give us a very easy way other than gems to refill and also I would like to see a big improvement on how to obtain the extreme medals (blue ones) as the it is far to slow and a lengthy progress to obtain the amount needed. Anyhow on a bright it would be a great idea if you were to some how obtain and teach TMs to any Pokemon just like in the original pokemon games but maybe make it abit like the cookie system and have the ability to reroll for other moves with specific stats....Version: 2.6.1

They’ve made the game impossible to playThis game used to be really fun, I’ve spent a considerable amount on the game for how much I was able to obtain by just grinding. However after almost two years (longer?) there is no way to receive “gym notes” which is an essential part of leveling up your characters. Without access to these items you literally cannot level up no matter how many other items you grind to meet requirements. I have over 20 level 100 trainers and about 10 level 120 trainers and I have reached a cap to the amount I can level up. The “legendary battles” are almost bearable however they’ve managed to make everything in achievable therefore you spend an hour fighting moltres to get a very small bounty of reward. & as I mentioned my trainer roster is lit with a lot of 5 star trainers with a variety of other things added on that are also very limited now. So if I CANT BEAT THE GAME YOU CANT EITHER. (Ie the battle tower is actually impossible especially if there are not gym notes and stamina is only replenished every 9hrs) And if you do beat the game or manage to you have to spend lots of money (like me) and had to have been playing from the beginning (like me, but I took a year and a half break because of the last time they nerfed the game. I REALLLLLLY like this game but it’s pointless to play..Version: 2.10.0

No sinceI liked the game at first but once I worked my way through the story line and got to Ex raids and stuff this game is stupid hard at the higher levels. It was way easy at first then got so hard it’s more frustrating now than even fun. You can have three maxed out Pokémon and still don’t have a chance. Very aggravating grinding to max out what you think should be a great combo of Pokémon you need just to find out all that work for nothing. It’s even like that on the very hard training stages. At least with the real game you had a chance without the #1 Pokémon in each group if you was willing to grind and level it up. In this game it is too one dimensional it’s crazy. Only one way to win at upper levels or you just stuck playing the same old crap over and over. Another thing that I hate is they give your opponent a lot better moves and stats with the same exact Pokémon you have. Also in regular play why can the opponents sync move hit and knock out all three of your and your sync move only hits one at a time and usually very less effectively. Don’t waste your time unless you want to spend a lot of money and time trying to get the exact combo of Pokémon for all the various matches. If it was more like the real deal it would not matter. I could knock out anything as long as I had a strong enough Pokémon. In here level 100 doesn’t mean anything!.Version: 1.2.1

I don’t get it where’s the contentI manage to do almost every content in the game in 2-3 days, all is left is the difficult content which seems to be in very small quantities. I cannot imagine spending the $$$ to complete a step-up to get the pokemon you want and then have no content to play with, i’m baffled it’s truly a great games with not much to show after 2 1/2 years of release..Version: 2.19.0

Could almost be greatFirst of all, it’s extremely difficult to increase your player rank, which is annoying as I just continued playing after putting it on hiatus for about 11 or 10 months. Also, the partner Pokémon system is extremely lame. The Pokémon that show up there are all just plain boring beside maybe Lapras or Kangaskhan. Also, what is up with the energy system. Some stages can go up to a full 20 stamina for one go. When the max stamina for a player rank 25 is 138 stamina. So you can only play certain stages 6 times in one day (excluding stamina from missions) . The only reason I’m going strong is because of the welcome back bonuses. Next, the way to increase the amount of stars is too annoying. There’re basically no places where you can get the tickets to increase the number of stars for a character, I can understand the 5-star tickets being rare, but I have only 3 in total for the 3-star tickets and none for 4-stars. And I’ve been grinding hard these past few weeks. Lastly (for now), the game gets boring after you finish the story and whatnot. The main reason I’m still going strong at the game is because I’m focused on powering up my favorite characters, but if it weren’t for that, I doubt that I’d still be playing. It could be so much better but so far the bad parts neutralize the good parts.Version: 2.6.1

No incentiveNo incentive to play or even log in. To elaborate your daily challenge rewards only reward pitiful manuals that you can get by easily doing a training mission. Level a mon to 100? Enjoy your pitiful manual as a reward, maybe get that other new mon to level 6 with this bad boy. Incredibly greedy, even by gacha standards. Expect any celebration or give aways for 10 million downloads? Nope sorry. Not even going to acknowledge in game besides a nicely worded letter. Once the launch bonus daily rewards are gone good luck even doing one summon a day if you’re f2p. Oh and did I mention two different types of currency? Wouldn’t want you f2p-ers thinking you’re in the same tier as whale and dolphin-kun. Actually there is no reason to dolphin because you need 400 summons to get the pity selective summon. Oh btw this 400 countdown resets as soon as the next banner hits. So it’s pretty much worthless. Game has great personality in its characters and is a joy to look at but if you peel apart the beautiful wrapping you’ll find a game plagued with unnecessary greed from its devs that cripple the experience entirely. If you are dead set on playing it I recommend waiting a year and checking in to see if they’ve made any significant changes when it comes to their business model. If you have a gacha itch there are plenty out there that are much more generous without this level of avarice..Version: 1.1.1

Good concept, poor executionIf you have a gambling addiction stay away! This game is set up to be very predatory. Endgame coop games are impossible without specific premium summons and this game is very stingy when it comes to free ones. Unless you had very good luck with your free pulls, you’re going to hit a hard road block. Towards the end, this game also gets super tedious and repetitive. Drop chances for certain items you need are low and it requires repeated grinding to gather enough for upgrades. What’s worse is that certain items are only available via coop play and those bosses are incredibly difficult to defeat. The random people you’re connected with might not have the right team and might not know the very specific method to use to win. With some of the bosses there’s no margin for error so you end up losing or quitting the vast majority of battles. Not to mention endgame bosses are basically immune to every disruption so a third of the characters are essentially useless. The game can be really fun but the developer needs to make some serious changes for it to last. It’s currently bleeding players. There’s barely any new content and the stuff that has come out has been lackluster. At the moment it just feels like a quick cash that will be abandoned after the player base has been sucked dry..Version: 1.2.1

Incredibly slow and laggyThe game is okay but you cannot ignore the fact it takes several minutes to do something as simple as get to the scout page. Every time you switch menus or even go to another page in the same menu it will take at least 30 seconds to load. The game takes 2 minutes to even start up and several more to connect. It is not a problem with my internet, I am able to play games such as genshin and many other online games with little to no wait time or lag. The lag makes the game borderline unplayable, I’m not sure if it’s from there being no servers in my area but that hasn’t ever effected gameplay so severely as this does. If you are a player from australia or similar country where there is no server nearby I would reccomend skipping on this game..Version: 2.18.0

GarbageI’m stuck with Pikachu all the time boring.Version: 2.40.0

It’s alright but...Before I get into negatives, I will say that I am having fun with the game so far. The concept is very interesting and I might like it more as I play. As for the negatives, I only have two gripes. 1) the battling. The Sync Bar on the bottom of the screen is a little slower than I expected. And the fact that there are moves that cost two sync points while doesn’t seem bad at first, you really have to wait a bit for it to fill back up to utilize your party’s moves and that can really halt the gameplay. The passive moves don’t really help that much either in regards to wait time. And then there’s 2) the gems. It’s no secret that micro transitions are becoming the social norm. But the way this game handles it is just dumb. Apparently there are two kinds of gems, the ones you earn while playing and the ones you pay for with real world money. As of writing this, there’s an event going on that would let you get a 5 Star character for 3000 PAID gems, and that is going to cost around $20-$30 dollars. FOR ONE CHARACTER. Why is the currency for this game like this? If the gems were used like in every other mobile game with micro transactions, then I wouldn’t complain as much. But this is just insulting. Especially for a franchise that has enough money as is..Version: 1.1.0
