✓ Going down hillHoop used to be one of my favorite apps. Now it is slowly becoming worse and worse. It seems as though every update made it worse and worse. First, they took away bios which was probably the largest blow to the overall enjoyment to the app and helped look for people more. Secondly, they made daily rewards less going from 200 to 100 but also adding in the purchasing of gems which was intentional but understandable. They had taken away being able to take 6 pictures and changed it to 3. Lastly, they’ve added the superchat and the other thing that’s like 2000 gems but also a ripoff. I’ve also noticed that since all these terrible updates it has led to an EXCESSIVE amount of bots advertising sexual images for kids and is very bad. At this point I would not recommend this app to anyone. Hoop used to be such a great app but since they’ve really sunk it. I’m not saying they have to add the same things as before but add features that helps you get better selection of people. I would enjoy talking more about the problems with the app to any developers who may read this..Version: 2.19.2

✓ Great app until nowWhen I first downloaded this app it worked perfectly fine and I loved the app I meant a lot of great people on the app but recently it doesn’t work it lets me collect my daily diamonds and lets me ask for peoples snap but on the top right where u can see like who wants ur snap and who gave u there snap it says i am all caught up and nothing shows up even though I now I have notifications and people asked for my snap so I decided to delete my hoop account and make a new one so a few minutes passed by and it was fine and then I saw people asked for my snap so I clicked one of them and gave them it then when I went back to give more people my snap it said I was all caught up but before I clicked that first person to give them my snap I saw I had more and I just gave up and I really did love the app and I am upset that it stopped working.Version: 2.17.8

✓ My experienceWithin 30 minutes I already don’t like this app. I do not like it bc it reminds me of Bumble BF. One of the issues I have with the app is how they force you to create a social media account just to message someone. I don’t want social media. It’s not like I don’t like it, I hate it. I don’t want a social media, I already have a hard time meeting people as it is. I’m coming here not to be judged off of status. That’s literally what this app is based off of. ✓ Easy to use but honestly not safeI think the user interface has been made well, it is easy to find everything you need and traversing through the app is quick and efficient, however there are just way way way too many fake accounts on here, predators and so forth. This app is used by people of various ages, some of which don’t understand the concept of digital safety, there really needs to be some kind of verification system to make sure the person making a profile is REALLY that person. ✓ Requesting is now based only on appearanceI had this app a few months back and there was an option to include a short bio on your account. I reinstalled it recently and for some reason the option to add a bio has been removed so whether you choose to request someone’s snap it’s based entirely on appearance and it can feel kind of objectifying. I’ve seen other reviews saying how the majority of people they’ve given their snap to have just asked for nudes and I think the removal of bios and any way to judge your requests based on personality is a big reason why. ✓ Worst effing app everAll these stupid guidelines mean if your not a 10/10 perfect model your photos will get rejected for not containing a face, if you stay safe and wear a COVID mask your photos will get rejected, if you have a photo with a body of water in it, your photos will get rejected, if you have a photo of yourself cooking or at a firing range or hunting, f*ing rejected, this app needs to stop relying on the dying buzzword that is AI and needs to take a page out of Yubo’s book and use the Honour system as it doesn’t leave ugly people like myself who actually have hobbies unable to use the app.Version: 2.19.4
✓ Well...So I've had this all for about 6 or 7 months and it was going great. No bugs or glitches of any kind. Until now. Which is why I'm giving this all 1 Star. About 2 or 3 weeks ago I'd get snap requests from people and I'd open the app and the daily diamond thing would get stuck on my screen, eventually it would go away, then after it would go away it click the tab on the top right to check snap requests and it would take forever for the "Give my snap" button to show but once it did I'd give them my snap... or at least I thought I did. Couple days would past and I would get a few more snap request. I go to the app and click the top right but this time it takes around 2 minutes for the request to load and I go back to some request from like weeks ago and the app never sent them and now on top of that I just got another snap request and the app has crashed on me 4 times in a row before I could even get the "Give my snap" button to load.Version: 2.17.8

✓ Good app but a few suggestionsI’ve been reading the other reviews and from what I’ve gathered, the more updates, the less people liked it. I’m not sure why you would take bios away as it gives people a better understanding on who they’re swiping on. One of the things I enjoyed about Hoop was how I could put multiple pictures to give better insight to who I am, especially since I could do that in a bio. Also with this most recent update, all of the pictures I upload drop In quality, perhaps it’s just my phone but it’s still something that frustrates me. I also saw another review that brought up the idea of having a filter for people who live in the same state as you, I think this would be a great idea. While meeting people from across the state is nice, it’s almost impossible to meet up with them, or keep conversations going considering the time difference. I love meeting new people but it’d be nice if I could meet people closer to me. Like be able to select *within so many miles* or *same city*?.Version: 2.19.2
✓ Good, but could be betterI’ve been on Hoop since summer of 2020, and i’ve met quite a few people on there including my best friend of over a year. The app is simple yet effective for those that choose people based on appearance or outfits, yet it has one major flaw. Please add an update where you can choose the age range of people that can add you or people that show up on your feed. I am 17 soon turning 18, and I am sick and tired of seeing 13-16 year olds in my feed. I purposely decide to use other apps so that I can change the age range to just 17 (while i’m on the under 18s version). Yes I could just skip or decline them, which I do, but it would be a lot simpler if they didn’t show up in my feed at all..Version: 2.24.1
✓ Good idea, Terrible executionMost, if not all, profiles are fake. There is constant child pornography being advertised. Constant profiles just selling sex, scamming, or attempting to get you to sign up to a sex website. This app is really annoying on so many levels. The layout is very clunky, and not at all, well rounded. It is an obvious cash grab from the development team that does not care how this app is ran nor the security being placed on the app. The app is falsely advertised as you are going to be “making friends“, but really all you are meeting is fake profiles of girls who are really just some random Asian or African guy (not even trying to sound racist, just really who it is) attempting to get money from you. ✓ Good idea in theory, poorly executed.An app to make friends is a good idea, however the way they’ve executed it makes it a really bad app. first of all, there’s no profiles. you can put up 3 selfies, but you can’t add a bio or anything so you’re just judging people based off their looks to see if you wanna be friends or not. secondly, there’s no way to message in app. you add each other then you have to add each other on either tiktok or snapchat to actually talk. thirdly, you’ll find people from all over the world even when your settings say “only my country” couldn’t believe the amount of americans and british ppl messaging me when their profile said canada and my settings are set to canada-only. haven’t found a single canadian. oh and when you swipe no on someone, be prepared to see their face pop back up over and over again until you finally swipe yes because the app won’t show new people. they’ll cycle the same 20 people over and over again. again this app had high potential but the execution of it just destroyed any possibility of being a useful friend making app..Version: 2.24.13

✓ It going down hillOkay, we I first got Hoop it was fun, I meet some really cool people on their on of them being now the person I call every night, and talk every day. I was upset that they took away bios but, found a way to improvise. Doing that took away the ability to get to know someone before you could add them. Now, they have you limited to 3 photos for your profile, now it’s a little bit harder for people get to know you before adding you. I would under stand 5 or something but, 3 I don’t get. Personally the update to allow people to see your stories was a little iffy for me personally, and I haven’t really seen anyone use that feature. I’m sure a couple of people can agree with me that the next update should be adding back bios, and making the photo limit higher. It would also be really nice to be able to change the age range of people you see when your looking for friends..Version: 2.18.7
✓ Good at first, but it went downhillI liked hoop at first. I went on it about everyday, until recently it stopped working the way it should. I kept adding people, or requesting for their snap, and it seemed like the request would go through. That’s when I started to notice that I would see the person I attempted to add before come up and be recommended to me again. It became increasingly frustrating, as I was wasting my gems on someone who I had already added once. It it getting to the point that I added the same person about 4 times because I thought the issue was on my end. I have restarted the app numerous times, and, not to say that I am in high demand or anything, have received no requests or snaps at all in the past week. I feel like there would be at least one person. When I tried to contact support through the app, which again was numerous times, I received a banner that said something along the lines of couldn’t be displayed at this time. I even tried to go to their website, and from what I saw, support was only available through email. If this doesn’t work that’s where I will be headed next. I am increasingly frustrated and I am about to delete the app. I don’t want to, especially right now during quarantine because it helped me connect to some very great new internet friends. First got on and it looked good, requested a few people’s Snap accounts and then got some requests myself. Gave them my Snap and they added me immediately. It started out decently enough, but then they soon started to deviate sharply from normal conversation, asking me if I liked nudity and then sending me a link to their porn site. Something similar happened with literally every single person who requested my Snap and even with all the people who I requested. Not a single person wanted to have a conversation, they just sent me nudes, asked if I wanted to be their sugar baby, or sent me suspicious porn links. This is really out of control, there should be a way to monitor this stuff and reduce the amount of spammers. I for one am giving up..Version: 2.22.4

✓ Horribly underdevelopedI assume making the app less like a dating app serves fixes to legal problems, but it makes the app much less enjoyable. Features such as having the option to only show people near you, or the ability to have a bio to say something about yourself, would make the app serve it’s purpose to make friends much more efficiently. I also think it’s strange that after I ask to see someone’s snap and they accept the request, which then leads to a notification showing their name and saying to either add they snap or decline, sometimes it doesn’t give me the ability to see more then the persons first picture. I am not mistaken in finding this, and it can be extremely annoying as someone could have something that doesn’t show any Thing about them except for a picture of their face. Making them less recognizable. Please fix this bug, or change it if it is intact a feature. Overall this app is decent at best, and incredibly underdeveloped for its popularity. A side note, I see many profiles advertising a child porn website when I’m scrolling through, and every time I see them I report the account and block it, but the user making these account keeps making them and making your app look pretty bad so I’d think you’d want to do something about it. ✓ Too many fake accountsThere are too many fake accounts advertising a site called findurlovemate that redirects you to p*rn sites. They get fake images off said sites and add them to they’re profile. They have stopped using nude photos on they’re profiles but they still are getting by with low quality, obviously fake, photos. These profiles are ruining the app and are honestly disgusting as they are pretending to be 14/15 years old. The super add feature should never have been added because it sends about 20 notifications and if you refuse it, you still get more. Plus even if you go as far as to BLOCK the account sending the request it does nothing and acts like you never blocked them, even if they show up on your blocked accounts list. The super add feature is currently being used by a user by the name Anna Sky that spams your phone with multiple notifications on multiple accounts and is trying to get users to watch her p*rn livestream. Due to these reasons I have deleted the app and would advice anyone else to delete it too or not download it at all..Version: 2.19.4
✓ Broken!I’ve had this app for a while and I have just got a new phone so I was obviously downloading everything again on it. I went onto hoop and tried to put in a photo as i was changing them, but it would not let me and it kept saying my face wasn’t in it, when it clearly was! I have emailed several times about this and i have just had the same automatic response back with instructions to try and fix it but it still did not work! ✓ Glitched ScreenSo I had added hoop when it was was popular on tik tok and have been using it ever since. There have been a couple issues regarding the app itself during this period, one of them being that when I go to look at a picture on a profile it glitches and doesn’t show me the picture or is just blank. Another issue ishtar recently I was just flipping through and it said no more profiles to be viewed. I went back the next day and it has had the same screen for about 2 weeks now. I have tried restarting the app a couple times now and still shows the same screen. I’m not completely sure if it is just mine or if it has been and issue for others. Recently, however, I’m barely able to watch more than a handful of ads before the button says “Searching ads” and never refreshes. But now after so many updates and changes to users, the app has been ruined.
