Star Traders: Frontiers for Positive User Reviews

Incredible gameSomehow works well despite being a giant tower of RNG. A pinnacle of compelling “emergent storytelling.” In some ways this game is a natural evolution of old school PalmOS Space Trader games from 20 years ago. Or a 2D, turn-based, mobile Privateer. In others, it’s a complement to something like King of Dragon Pass or Crusader Kings where you’re leading, shepherding a clan/crew/court through a series of choices/events in a simulated world of systems. The only thing I’m missing is cloud save. It’d be nice to continue the trek on the iPad once at home..Version: 2.4.81

Endless galaxies but little to explore. The game has a fair amount of depth mechanically, both in and out of combat, and whether you’re a smuggler, pirate, or bounty hunter, there are a ton of ways to make money. And it’s getting constantly updated and bug-fixed, so it’s nice to see how the game is updating weekly. The narrative elements that are in the game are interesting. But the narrative experience is a bit hollow and the world is devoid of charm. There’s not much to really grind towards - no bases to build, fleets to run, and the allies you make are little more than glorified fetch-quest givers - though that’s all you’ll be doing. The difficulty is also wonky, you’ll quickly be hunted by other factions unless you play extremely neutral (which is all but impossible) and on bigger maps this makes getting around a real pain in the rear. The game has a lot of potential, I’m excited to see where it goes. Will update later..Version: 2.5.79

Great game overall with minor flawsI love this game; it reminds me of the old "Starflight.". I've pretty much been playing it non-stop for months. But it's not perfect, which sometimes leads to some frustration. I'll cover these below: Pros: The ability to customize evetything! Your Captain, crew, ship, equipment. The totally open nature of play; you don't have to do ANY of the story missions. Absorbing main story lines. Great ship and crew combat; stylized and simple in mechanics, but detailed in options and customizable to suit your style. The talent system and faction rank/permit system that allows you to avoid most hostile encounters as time goes on (see below). Developer support; updates, great online boards with developer presence! Cons: The card games! These are ridiculously biased towards bad events, and talents for replacing/removing cards don't increase the probability of mission success, they only remove or alter a negative. This is a major frustration since EVERYTHING requires the card game. The random encounters actually seem to increase as the game progresses, making it more and more difficult to perform routine tasks like flying around. This frustration is mitigated by the talents you get and your faction rank/permits, so isn't as much a frustration as the card game (though a xeno or hostile bounty hunter can still ruin yor day!)..Version: 2.6.31

Great game!I just spend the better part of my last week playing this game. A real nice blend of open world and RPG..Version: 3.1.49

A True Work of Mobile Gaming ArtThis game is truly a piece of art. I have yet, in all of my years of gaming (PC, Console, Mobile) to find a mobile game with as much immersion, depth, and developer passion as this. It is fun, engaging, and challenging. It has more in it that most triple A titles released today. I urge you to look past the price because it is genuinely one of my greatest iPhone game enjoyments to date..Version: 3.2.25

Complete upgrade of the originalIf you played the first Star Traders game, this is as comprehensive an upgrade as is nearly possible. Characters went from one-note officer entries and a crew counter for a full-fledged party management system with complex stats and traits. Ship combat was heavily overhauled for vastly more weapons and effects, including a JRPG-style combat system for boarding and other crew combat, with complex skills management. Ships are more sophisticated, with radically more upgrades and a system offering genuine trade-offs and balances between ship classes and upgrades. Trading has been revised with new legality, permits, rarity and supply systems. The graphics have gone from something out of a DOS game to pretty respectable. But most significantly, a new system of contacts, missions, and story missions adds vastly more to actually do in the sandbox. It is significantly better in every single way. If you never played the original, none of that is important. What matters is that this is currently the stand-out best space captain game on phone systems currently available..Version: 2.6.31

MasterpieceIf you ever played the first game you will be amazed how much better this one is. If you never played the first... What are you waiting for?.Version: 2.4.89

Great Great GameGreat great game for 4K lovers! I actually back the game in Kickstarter few years back but didn’t have time to play until recently as I got more time due to lockdown. I can’t believe what I have been missing all these years! Everyone would love different aspects of the game, it’s such a solid game with depth, probably the best 4K game on mobile devices now. Only thing I would love to point out though is the saved games and achievement not being shared across iOS devices. I have unlocked about half of the achievements in game, but after reinstalling the app, aside from losing all my saved games, I will also need to unlock everything again, even though Game Center showing that I’ve already unlock those achievements. It can be a little frustrating..Version: 3.0.111

Excellent game by top notch devsI have this game on PC. Such a wonderful game and wanted a way to play it mobile. Well, this is the app! It’s awesome and you don’t lose any features. Gameplay is flawless and I forget I’m even playing on iPad lol. Devs are very involved and care a lot about their product. Do yourself a favor and get this game, NOW!.Version: 3.2.49

Surprisingly deep game that’s still regularly updatedI was so impressed by this game, not only for its incredible depth, gameplay, and story, but also by the fact this indie developer is still regularly adding new content and fixes years later when they could have easily walked away. It’s clearly a passion project for them. Please keep up the awesome work supporting this game! I’m telling everyone about it!.Version: 3.3.5

Amazing!Great game!.Version: 3.0.27

Mix of FTL and No Man’s SkyThis game is so deep and amazing. There are layers upon layers of strategy. The lore in this game is fantastic as well. Buy and fly a ship, manage crew, land on a multitude of planets, spy, battle, become a merchant or a pirate. The are endless ways to play. I’m just scratching the surface. On top of all that, you’re buying a game from some of the most talented developers who are heavily involved in the gaming community. Have a problem? Write them an email and they’ll respond to your concerns within the day. They are my most trusted team of concerned game-makers. This is a labor of love by people who know how to make games and who care about gamers. Thank you Trese Brothers. Can’t wait to see what the future holds in terms of updates..Version: 2.4.75

The depth is incredibleI am impressed by the sheer depth of Star Traders Frontiers. It is easily the most full-featured iPad game I’ve played, with lots of replay value and countless strategies to try. The developers keep supporting and updating it, with the iPad version never too far behind the PC. Like others, I have my gripes with the RNG and difficulty setting based unlocks, but I am having fun despite these personal misses. Reading the forums it seems the Trese Brothers listen to their customers, so I expect my enjoyment will continue for some time as features continue to be added and balance issues are addressed. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an in-depth strategy gaming experience!.Version: 2.6.13

So good I bought it twice......I actually have, on PC a year ago and now on IOS! This port is identical as far as I can tell which means I can play this fantastic game anywhere, anytime, and it’s constantly being updated and expanded, none of which invalidates your current saved game data. Kudos to the Trese brothers. You’re a starship captain with a whole galaxy to explore filled with exploration, political backstabbing, privateering, bounty hunting, xeno hunting, smuggling or simply trading. You want a build that dodges planetary forces whilst bringing those more “questionable” commodities to the masses? You got it. You want a build that plagues the shipping lanes with torpedoes and boarding parties (which you lead in crew combat sections)? It’s here you salty dog! Maybe you’re more the military type captaining a carrier with aces piloting fighter craft? Okay skipper, you’re in. Recruiting the best crew to suit your style, including your trusted officers, and gathering the capital needed to improve or replace your starship will take skill and good planning and is great fun. Yes, it is deep and there is little in the way of a tutorial but there are great YouTube videos that get you enjoying the game in ten minutes whilst more indepth videos and wikia will help you to understand the more complex strategies to master. Great game, buy it..Version: 2.5.25

Wow, for a phone gameFirst I saw no in app purchases and it already had me interested, Then just like all the other reviews say, this game is deep. I feel like I am playing a game on PC, it has a sandbox, challenging adventure feel. It reminds me of a game called caravaners 2, but in space. And they are still updating! Definitely worth the 10.Version: 3.3.23

Best Spaceship RPG in Years on Any PlatformThis is a real game. You will spend lots of time learning the systems before you can do well. It is an incredibly rich experience and the developers update it very frequency. It’s almost identical to the PC version, with the only differences being UI adjustments. If you’ve been looking for a good spaceship RPG on any platform for years, you’ve finally found what you’re looking for here. Enjoy!.Version: 2.4.95

Truly AmazingI have bought hundreds of games on iOS, and own most of the “epic” hardcore strategy and role play games on iOS. This game ranks near the top in terms of value, gameplay, detail, and fun. I tend to steer away from sci-fi genre, but am so so glad that I took a chance on this one. We need to reward the Trese brothers with positive reviews and purchases so they and other studios will make more games like this for iOS. If you have ANY interest at all in this type of game, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PURCHASE!.Version: 2.6.11

Great game! The game plays well and seldom crashes. Very dense storyline at first. A couple things that I think would improve the experience: 1- not dropping you into the prince missions so early in the game, that is, give people some trade routes to run, simple missions that don’t cause reputation loss. 2- on the same subject, reputation loss when you’re doing a spy mission, or secretly dropping off a passenger should not be a thing. If you didn’t get caught, why are people bashing you!? 3- further stat distance between ship upgrades. Why bother to buy anything but the best weapons/armor? They’re comparatively cheap. 4-allowing story characters that come aboard to change into your ship’s uniform. 5- missions to get “level 11” gear, explicitly. 6- ships that don’t require mass dampeners to exist. It’s annoying to have them there, although I understand the usefulness at times. 7- if you carry an edict, and you’re doing legal work for a prince, I don’t think you should be concerned about rep loss, maybe that goes along with “getting caught”. I have other ideas to make the game a bit more interesting, but those are the big ones. Eagerly awaiting the ability to rank my character past level 40!.Version: 2.6.1

Fantastic. What an awesome little gem of a game, very deep and complex. I’m still learning how to play but I am getting better. I love the way you can progress the main story line, or go off and do your own thing. One of the best games every purchased on my iPad. 👍.Version: 2.4.65

AmazingThe first star traders game was my absolute favorite but a few years ago it became very glitchy and would crash frequently on my iPhone X. So happy there is an indirect sequel with a ton of improvements and additions. Also huge props to Trese brothers for creating such great games that are reasonably priced and are updated frequently. Also thank you for being so active with the community around your games..Version: 3.0.117

AmazingA turn based RPG elite clone with deep mechanics, an incredibly variety of play styles, and a procedurally generated universe with enough lore, expressed with the right amount of verisimilitude, to make the map seem lively and lived in instead of by the numbers or shallow. Go out into the void and make your living by hunting bounties. Or exploring strange worlds, or salvaging derelict space stations. Or hacking into enemy communication networks. Or, or, or. A final note: I have never seen developers as responsive and dedicated to their games as these. New content, tweaks, and bug fixes drop at an embarrassing rate..Version: 2.4.65

Thank youThis game is still one of the best games I've played on IOS you guys really helped me through a hard time thank you to the developers of this game. I’m really happy to see its taking off ❤️..Version: 3.2.31

Excellent game!I took a chance on this one, even though there was no demo, because I’ve been looking for a good space sim that lets me move about freely and choose my own career path. After looking into the game online, reading/watching reviews, etc., I bought the game. It has not disappointed. I’ve been having a blast with it! There are so many choices, and the universe goes on no matter what you do. I chose to ignore some of the main story to follow my own path, and events unfolded without my involvement. Now I want to replay it to see if I could have affected the outcome. I chose to play as a spy my first time through, avoiding combat as much as possible. I’ve been largely successful, except for one crew battle where I lost two of my best soldiers and was forced to surrender to spare the other two. I’ve got one faction so mad at me, that their ships attack me on sight, and their planets deny me all fueling, medical, and repair services! Thanks for the fun game. Well done!.Version: 2.4.89

Great gameVery nice game I enjoy the star traders series.Version: 3.0.93

Just wow.Absolutely blown away by this game. It’s everything I could hope for not only in a space-sim, but a mobile game in general. Fantastic for quick or long play sessions (I killed a 3 hour plane flight in what felt like 30 minutes) and after 20+ hours, only now scratching the surface of what’s possible. Truly a deep gem! Also the dev is highly active - definitely worth supporting this 2 person team!.Version: 2.4.87

New content keeps coming!Hands down the best game devs on the app store. They keep adding new content and there is none of that pay for extras or freemium crap that is plaguing most of the games today. Pay once and get a ton of content plus a ton more in future updates..Version: 2.6.1

One of my favoritesI am super happy with this game. I love playing it. I can play for ten minutes or ten hours, and still be entertained. Unfortunately it doesn’t work properly on my new iPhone Max. The buttons are misaligned and there is almost no way to get out of the program once you have started it because of the locations of the features. I am sure they will fix it but until then, wait until the fix to down load. * It works great on the iPad still!.Version: 2.4.95

Worth itThere is a storyline or a dozen to work through that will net you lots of cash for your efforts. Since these do have deadlines, you have little room for side quests unless you plan the destinations well. Otherwise, you can ignore the story and go your own way, then yes, there will be lots of repetition in trading, exploring, or hunting, and spying, and salvaging...whatever suits your fancy, based on the captain and ship you selected or created from scratch. So lots of options. And lots of fun. Easy to lose yourself in the story and the game and realize you forgot to go to bed and it’s dawn already..Version: 2.5.43

FIX glitch & ADD custom colors1) Amazing game 2) In Crew Combat, there’s a size glitch for any crew member you customize w/ unlocked costumes. They are smaller than players and combatants wearing locked costumes. 3) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add an option to change colors of the crew costumes (like black everything) and maybe even the spaceships and even story characters that join your crew. It would make a world of difference in customizing play through and replay value..Version: 3.1.29

Awesome game!Don’t write many reviews, but I had to for this one, the sheer amount of content in this game is mind boggling, it’s a true AAA strategy game on iOS. Big fan of 4X strategy games, while this isn’t that, I got hooked in the same way as I have with Civ or Endless Legends. Brilliant game and highly recommended..Version: 2.4.95

XS Max, iOS 12.xThis great indie company treats the App Store like Steam with frequent, substantive post-release updates & improvements. Think along the lines of successful free-to-play titles (eg, a consistent money-maker about clans clashing) that have taken over the App Store but better because the Trese Brothers don’t hold anything back or hide content behind paywalls. Star Traders Frontiers raises the bar for premium experiences on iOS because you get all of that plus a phenomenal experience. Check the Steam reviews or Rock Paper Shotgun for in-depth feedback regarding the UI and gameplay. Spoiler: it’s an exceptional experience. Thanks to the Trese Brothers team, and I hope this one sells millions of copies. Be prepared for years of continued support for STF. Templar Battleforce Elite, which was released in 2015, just received yet another meaningful update in late January of 2019. That’s the gold standard..Version: 2.4.65

Game of the YearI love open world space games, especially Galaxy on Fire 2 and Star Nomad 2. This one is significantly deeper than those thanks to the endlessly branching story options, character customization, and huge map. I’ve spent hours and barely even scratched the surface. It probably took me about a day to become comfortable with the UI. I assure you it’s worth it, but be warned....Version: 2.4.75

Great open-world rpgI’m not a big rpg fan. But I LOVE this game. Pros: - Open-world. Do what you want. - Great Crew Battles - Great ship battles Cons: - Tutorial isn’t that great. Confusing at first. My best advice is to look at your first few plays as just learning all the systems. There’s a lot that the game doesn’t tell you. The wiki and lore help a bit. Needs work: - Better tutorial about various screens and systems. - Is there a way to retrain “Jobs”? I know you can retrain “Traits” but didn’t see anything similar for “Jobs” - When you are picking your Crew Battle team, if you open a window to look at each person’s equipment and try to scroll, you end up clicking and changing stuff on the screen in the background (I.e. the Crew battle position screen). I notice this also happened when I was looking at factions with the galaxy map in the background. - Is the Xeno Hunter class not available for iOS? Or do you have to open it up in-game? I don’t see it as a starting class but all the online info says it’s supposed to be a starting class (at least on Steam). Overall, great job. I highly recommend it. Edit: they just added Xeno Hunter. Amazing!.Version: 2.4.81

What an amazing game!I’m sick of the paywalls in most mobile games these days, I’d much rather throw $5-$10 at a worthy dev to outright purchase one. These guys are more than worthy because this game is incredible! A little FTL, a little Master of Orion/Galactic Civ, and even a bit of Darkest Dungeon sneaks in here. It’s all assembled into a great space strategy sim with a nearly infinite amount of freedom! I downloaded this game and proceeded to play it until my battery died, LOL! It’s a bit of a steeper learning curve, but only for a short time. Great job!.Version: 2.4.95

Absolutely worth the $7I’m downright amazed that this app is as good as it is. While it’s a bit hard to get a grasp on initially, I’ve sunk so many hours into this thing and I’m still not bored of it. Even after like 15+ games I’m still finding new stuff I didn’t even know existed previously. The game is surprisingly complex and has a lot of options, there’s a lot of play styles available and a massive amount of replay value. I could go on about this game for a long time but I’ll spare everyone the wall of text- If you like sci fi, more complex RPGs, and don’t mind something of a learning curve at the start, odds are you’d like this app..Version: 2.5.57

This game is awesomeThis is one of the most underrated titles on here. I have been playing Trese Brothers games for a long time now, hey continue to focus on improved gameplay and storyline, putting the gamer first and foremost in game developing. There are lot of great titles and this game is by far one of the best games I have ever played with a ton of replay value. You will not be disappointed purchasing this game..Version: 3.0.69

So much depth and breadth for a mobile game! You can easily get lost in this game. Part of the fun struggle to make money for your ship to pay for crew and other ship expenses. But mostly you are struggling to keep your ship intact and crew alive and high in morale so they don’t desert you. You can play different roles in space and they are all fun. I just wish it was possible to commandeer an enemy’s ship as a pirate. But I’m so satisfied with the game overall, that o bought it for my MacBook too..Version: 2.5.19

A must haveFantastic game.Version: 3.0.107

Additional Feature IdeaBacked the game on KS years ago and still loving it. However, when rolling a new captain, I often spend an hour or so rerolling until I get an initial crew which I’m comfortable playing with. I would be really interested to see a complete “custom crew” feature, where at a minimum, the attributes or other starting features (traits, jobs) of our officers could be determined. Personally, I’d rather start with a Commander than a Quartermaster, a starting Nav officer always gets dumped, as will anyone Ill Tempered, Rigidly Lawful, and 2/4 starting “fighter” crew (soldier/swords/pistoleer), and my starting Doc is one of my primary fighters, so I usually reroll until I’m certain they’d eventually survive the Jyeeta. Again, great game, love it, but after so many playthroughs, this would be interesting (even as a post Jyeeta unlock)..Version: 3.2.11

Pretty good game, would recommendThis is a pretty decent game that I came across while looking for another one. Good storyline (but could be expanded, particularly late-game, I think), but there’s one thing that I think could improve the game. With ship combat, I think it would be interesting to have multiple ships available in the same battle. Sort of like convoy tactics, where a merchant may be protected by a couple cruisers or a carrier plus a battle cruiser, just opening up more specialized ships and more battle options. But again, great game, just something I think could be implemented..Version: 2.5.79

Wow. Best game for iPhone I’ve ever playedI’ve bought a lot of games on the App Store and some greats like bards tale and Stardew. But this is by far the most addicting. It’s a really good steam game that you can play on the iPhone (I have 10s). I’ve had it for a few days and can’t stop playing it. The story I’ve only dipped into but it’s clear player choice matters and is core to the game. There is a infinite amount of depth but I chose a custom difficulty this first play through to get acquainted. You could just stay at an easy difficulty and just play the game for the story and as a progression rpg or play something as hard as FTL while managing the complexity of EVE online. Like I said been a few days but this might become my all time favorite game on iPhone. (Stardew holds the title right now).Version: 2.5.47

One of the bestThis is such an impressive and fun game. The story is engaging with great writing. One of the best, most immersive sci fi games I have ever played. Thank you for making this available on mobile!.Version: 3.1.21

ImpressiveOnce you understand it, this is a deep game. I’m very impressed. I find that at setting "Hard" the very best I’ve achieved is level 14. Then something seems to kill me no matter what, but maybe I’ve just not figured out the way yet. Very Impressive. Hours of playing. Good job!.Version: 3.3.17

Brilliant space adventurerSteep learning curve, huge depth, real triumph of a 4x game. Once you’ve maxed out your ship and crew stats/weapons you’re pretty much unstoppable, to the extent that it becomes little more than a clunky, slow, space-themed slightly repetitive fetch and deliver exercise. But even then there’s enough going on here to keep you occupied - definitely weeks of gameplay - making it astonishing value for money compared to much of the thin/slight/pay-to-win stuff so common to iOS games. Buy it, you won’t regret it..Version: 2.4.89

Mind blowing“Is this seriously a mobile game?” was what I first asked when I first booted it up. This game is big and I mean big. At first it’s a lot to take in, you start off with like 30 crew members in your ship and they all play a part in your experience from passing skill checks, helping in blockades, patrols, and spying they also help in combat (space and ground). Then the contact and faction system is just woah(can’t even put into words atm). Every choice felt like it mattered and it also felt like the galaxy changed around me from those choices. This game is truly a diamond in the rough for mobile Gamers and is highly recommend it, if you like rpgs this game is for you. I’ll see you among the stars traders. Another plus is the fact that the developers are constantly communicating and updating the game. Like seriously I feel like everyday I check for updates star traders is the first thing to pop up on what needs an update..Version: 2.5.71

So good...I don’t often write reviews, mostly because I don’t often come across an iPhone game that is impactful. This game though... This is definitely the best space game in the App Store and in contention for best overall. (Stiff competition from Stardew valley) So, what would this game need for me to view it as the greatest of all time? If the player had the ability to run his own faction and own a quadrant. Where she/he could build their own orbital stations, farms, lux pops, refineries etc. If politics played a role in that and you could have your political allies/ factions join in building stations and cities on planets. If you could be a king/queen governor governess what have you... this game would be the greatest of all time. That being said, I do not want to take away from the developers accomplishments. This game is absolutely amazing and I appreciate the love they put in it!! It will always be a favorite.Version: 2.4.83

Smugglers V on steroidsIf you enjoyed Smugglers V on the PC then your will probably love this game: it has more careers, more ships, more planets to visit, and NPCs to interact with. The storyline is compelling enough to keep you entertained and rather refreshingly, there are no in-app purchases, so you can play the game without feeling as though your wallet is being farmed..Version: 2.6.27

Underrated, deep, hours of content, no IAP’sArguably one of the strongest space rougelike RPGs out there. ST:F allows for you to play as any number of customisable captains, from Smugglers making money on the black market, Pirates raiding shipping lanes, Bounty Hunters kidnapping rival spies or Explorers, finding treasures in distant planets. The game requires some imagination to paint the scenes. It’s like a D&D space game. Some parts are repetitive. But the difficulty choices, faction bonuses, in-depth lore and story and the free, difficulty achievement tied unlockables gives you dozens of hours of content to replay through. If it’s boring. Crank that difficulty up, change your build, choose a different faction or character to side with and jump back into the pilots seat. My favourite moments were realising that no matter how good you think you are. The game can throw curveballs that come out of nowhere. Race through the stories? Your enemies speed up their process and are now hunting you down for foiling their plans. Build rep by defending a planet? An alien ship jumps you and kills half your squad, leaving you in a death spiral. Try to sell alien artefacts on the black market? The security guards shoot you and kill your medic and your main team. Run out of fuel and can’t afford to buy your crew “spice” to keep them happy? They throw you out of the airlock. ST:F is a game that, at its core, is repetitive. A 2d, text based, RPG. But beyond that. It gives those with an imagination to imagine life as a ship captain of the future. Equally satisfying and scary. It’s a game that has so much potential, the Trese brothers deserve more funding to build on this project. There’s ZERO ads, DLC and annoying pop ups. It’s a full game. Which is more than I can say for half of the content on the store. Instead of going to Starbucks or McDonalds for a week, buy this game. You won’t regret it..Version: 3.1.37

Deep and steepI’ve been a fan of their games for ages now, and this is probably my favourite so far (TBF is the challenger) There’s so many variables and it’s not dumbed down to DPS or anything- multiple ways to play makes for lots to explore! One issue that’s causing me a bit of frustration is the play balancing for combat - it would be great to get more visibility of what influences your stats and capabilities. Mainly because I’m getting regularly pwned in ship combat so I can’t even get started in hard difficulty!.Version: 2.4.81

Great GameAlways getting updated, haven’t come across any major, game destroying bugs or glitches, however the guy isn’t there for the reward in ‘Freedom Calling’ after you liberate the guy. Also, would love to see the ownership of multiple, functioning ships. I understand that this game isn’t about fleet management, however it would be natural for a prosperous character to create a fleet of ships, not only for the potential revenue return, but to cement and grow their power. Also Brokstrom should offer missions, especially if the player sided with her..Version: 3.2.13

Great, old school space adventureI really appreciate the frequent updates.Version: 3.1.7

Best game on the App StoreI cannot stop playing this game. It is fun, fair and challenging, all while somehow offering a relaxed gameplay experience with a deep story and vivid universe. 100000/10 would recommend to universe..Version: 2.4.89

What a game!An extremely addictive game with so much to do! Love it love it! Well done Trese Brothers on bringing back RPG space style!.Version: 3.0.55

HookedAt first I was intimidated by how much stuff you have to do to keep you and your whole ship alive and intact but after wards it was great. Until you meet your first Xeno ship......Version: 3.1.23

Superb gameGreat game, complex and involved. Can be played like a slightly simpler version of elite dangerous (just more turn based and tip down), or as I have been, imagining a slightly alternate version of firefly, just in a different galaxy, with different characters and aliens instead of reavers! Keep up the good work, another brilliant game!.Version: 3.0.109

Definitely a good oneGood game, takes a little learning but it’s good. There is one issue: starting ship seems like it’s too good. Granted I’m only playing on normal, but I think we’re too well equipped. Furthermore, system upgrades /customization doesn’t really make much sense either. I looked and the starting ship I have is worth 400k, the best ship I’ve found is 1.3 million, and it’s a battle cruiser. It doesn’t seem like it’s that hard to get to the battle cruiser at all. Also the ship upgrade system isn’t that great, there seems to only be a handful of ship modules to buy and they’re pretty consistent from planet to planet. Many times it’s a sideways swap instead of an upgrade. It’d be way more cool if each planet could randomly generate the modules they offer for upgrades and the respective stats with each module or maybe each planet specializes in certain kinds of modules or offers a rare perk on theirs. Buying a laser cannon in two different parts of the galaxy: you’re not going to get the same style of laser, period. They’d be different in at least subtle ways. Either way, I like the game. It just needs to go a little bit further with the ship components I think..Version: 2.4.75

LOVE THIS GAME!I always have doubts about mobile games because most are crap. This game is NOT one of them. It is detailed, in-depth, and engaging. The learning curve isn’t that bad, but once you learn the menus, it’s all gravy. It’s surprisingly complex for a mobile game; for instance, I had no idea you could equip your captain, officers, and crew with items until a contact offered to sell me military equipment. Fantastic game! Trading is easy and fun: once you land on a planet you can look them up in the Atlas and see what items they sell or buy, and see if their prices are better or worse then others in the system. No regrets here! Thank you Trese Brothers for making a great game!.Version: 2.5.87

Amazing game, one issueThis game is basically Freelancer (Discovery Mod) as a turn based, menus driven game...and it excels at it in every imaginable way. My only issue (it’s both minor and yet not) is that I replaced my medical bay with an advanced medical bay in order to free up an officer’s quarter (since it comes with one) and replace that with something else. My ship details show (4/4) officers and hull size 5 officers, but I can’t remove one of the quarters. I keep getting a warning that I need to release the officer...I don’t really want to lose any officers. They are all above level 15. I’d love to be able to kick my doctor/combat medic officer to the medical bay..Version: 2.5.79

Impressive!I was originally playing Heroes of Steel and stoked with the game advancement and storyline progression, so I thought to give ST a shot. Admittedly, I was a bit overwhelmed at first and confused about what to do. I wanted to give it a fair review so decided to wait til I understood the game better. Now I am hooked!!! I was impressed with the HoS storyline development, blown away with ST! This is my favorite game on my phone by far. Short bursts or for a long space session, this game has crazy amount of replay possibilities. Wow, just wow! Amazing work Brothers!!!.Version: 2.5.67

One of the BestI have played a huge amount of mobile games, and I typically don’t review them, but in my opinion this is one of the two best games I’ve played on the App Store, (the other being Severed). The only issue I can see some people having with the game is complexity, the number of things that can happen in this game is amazing, and the strategy is deep and convoluted, I’ve had this game for a while and I still have only a fraction of the knowledge in strategy needed to master this game. Personally, this makes it even better. The game includes elements of trading, conflicts between factions, ship combat, character combat, exploration, diplomacy and much more..Version: 2.4.71

The only problem of this game is its horrible art styleThe game is really a gem. I want to kindly advise the developers, who are unbelievably professional and supportive, to fire their art director..Version: 3.1.3

FantasticGreat little game rarely write a review but it is 100% worth buying different roles to suit different players and hours and hours worth of gametime well worth it 👌.Version: 2.4.81

Fallout on your phone! But better! Seriously intricate and deep. Can’t believe you can grab so much content for few pounds! Don’t expect any guidance, you will actually need to employ your brain cells to figure out what’s worth doing what’s not! Highly recommended!.Version: 3.1.33

Best indie game everThe gameplay is wonderfully complex with a lot of detail and planing. Half of your battle strategy needs to be thought out even before you get into a battle. The writing and word choice are immersive. If you read the text carefully, you can really get into it. When you believe you are being terrible your officers seems to always have your back..Version: 2.5.77

Great game, well doneI just live this! Huge fan of Elite back in the day and this feels like it more than fills that void in my life. Brilliant game!!.Version: 3.2.29

Huge ambition, but a little flatSteep learning curve leads to several scrapped starts as you ease into this game. I give the devs credit for the massive amount of freedom players have in this game. My only fault with it, is that it lacks excitement. The daring ship is massively capable of blowing anything out of the sky that you might meet... it’s just a redundant tap, tap, tap, wait, tap, tap, tap, wait (rinse, lather, repeat 8x) til combat finally ends. I’ve played it about ten hours and just don’t have the drive to put in another then to see if it gets better. It’s a good game, don’t get me wrong, and it’ll hold your attention for a while unless you are a drooling moron who needs a hand holding tutorial just to know which side of the toilet paper to use. But, without SOME form of excitement/action/meaningful progress, it doesn’t make my top 100..Version: 3.0.25

Finally ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️If the description of the game sounds interesting just go ahead and jump right in. There is a lot to learn but the game kind of eases you into it. It’s not completely overwhelming from the start. This is the space/4x game I’ve been looking for. It does everything right. I couldn’t wait to share the App Store link with a couple of friends that are into sci-fi/ 4x games. This game is well worth the price. After putting a couple hours into the game I would say that it is 💯% with the price. Only minor complaint is it needs to have iCloud save so I can go from phone to iPad. Other than that, Easy 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 2.5.25

Pretty awesome, some suggestionsReally great turn-based game with so much randomization it keeps you guessing, plotting, cussing, making notes, restarting, honing lol... I would give this 5* if it was a free game; since it has kind of a high price tag I think it could use a few improvements: 1) still no retirement button for captains that have been out there awhile? I saw a few threads online from a couple of years back mentioning this, and so far I haven’t come across an end-of-career option so what gives? 2) when I’m flying my Sword Battlecruiser around, why am I still attacked by spies, bounty hunters, zealots and the like flying ships that I can just chew up, spit out and be on my way? I know there are components I can add to my ship to reduce random encounters, but why would these insects be attacking something that can so obviously stomp them? Even if they’re extremely hostile, they should just be hurling strong language at me from afar. 3) could definitely use an art upgrade. I’m not expecting cutting-edge graphics but the character art is just a bad joke. Anyway, still enjoying the game, and I *do* think it’s worth the price, especially given that it’s still being actively developed. Just would like to see these 3 things improved :).Version: 3.0.71

Detailed and immersiveThis is a fantastic and deep exploration game. Each faction and actor within it has their own motivations and ideals. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is well worth is. Now to become a pirate queen of the void.Version: 3.0.69

Trade it til you make it!A true gem in the app-store. All mechanics are thought through and fun. The art design, dialog and story engaging. Unbelievable that this game is developed by only two guys. Super responsive and and dedicated to their game. Please purchase, enjoy and support these guys. Their work is truly exceptional..Version: 2.4.65

What’s with the one star reviews? This was meant to be a (for the most part) hardcore strategy survival game, if it’s too hard for you to play find an easier game. The game has some repetitiveness in the basic mechanics yes, but so does every RPG game, the true beauty of this game is the fact that it has infinite replay-ability. Every event is randomized and many can be found, tons of different occupations and ways to nab cash, and an ever growing various-arc storyline thanks to the fantastic devs. Your right this isn’t GoF2, (I won’t even mention the cash grab that was 3), the only real elements it shares is the trading, and its far more complex. Ive spent hundreds of hours in both, and they are far different. It wasn’t meant to be a space shooter, but you can always fast forward ship travel time. Instead the marvel of this game is its complex strategy, unique card system, ever branching careers, down to the stat crew management, plethora of both ship upgrades, weapons, spec items, contacts, and rumors to find. Unique events and random stories to encounter, and randomly generated galaxies to explore. This is a masterpiece..Version: 2.6.5

ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ Fantastic (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)وIncredible game from an incredible developer. Deep and open sandbox that is not a simple phone game. This is a full pc quality game that’s been ported quite well to phones. It gets frequent updates and the developer is very engaging with the community. Really. And this is a real live human being saying this. Not some robot algorithm designed to increase market whatever. It’s good. Full stop..Version: 2.5.43

Deep, interesting, requires magnifying glass to play on phoneThis is a preliminary review since I’m only a couple of hours into a truly byzantinely deep game. Out of the box, I like the presentation and the fact you can pick your character’s face and garb from a large selection of diverse and appealing options. This is a management-centric game in the spirit of Star Trek or Firefly in terms of fiction and Privateer or Star Command in terms of games. You manage a ship and crew, being able to equip and upgrade ships and develop the skills of your crew (which is large) in considerable detail. Missions are convoluted, the back story is rich, and you have choices everywhere. E.g. you can not only pick missions and decide what approach to take at every juncture but the impact of your crew and their skills is explicit. Space combat is a bit disappointing (so far). It’s turn based and you basically click buttons and watch numbers go by. That said I’ve not gotten far and the mechanics have a lot of depth so it may grow on me..Version: 2.5.87

Truly amazingI have played a LOT of games. I’ve been playing since I got my first pc game in 1981 - Adventure ... and I’ve played, tested, and worked on games ever since. And out of literally 100’s of games and 1,000’s of hours this is in my top-3 of all time. If you want a more in-depth review pop over to steam..Version: 3.0.1

Steep Learning Curve but SO WORTH IT!It took me a few days to work out how to play and what things to consider. I restarted a new game and am now having a blast! So many ways to play, so many things to manage. I like the game a lot, and feel like there’s an ocean of depth I’ve just dipped a toe into..Version: 1.0.105

Rich strategy game with amazing depthThe gameplay is rich with so many possibilities: trading, exploring, spying, space ship battles, hand to hand combat. The game takes place in a living universe with rival factions giving rise to multiple plot-lines that you can influence as a player. I’m blown away at the depth of this game. There’s so much content, offering an engrossing experience that far surpasses that of any other strategy game I’ve played. Plus the developers are really passionate about the game - they regularly release new content, and participate in players’ forums..Version: 2.4.89

Deep gameplayI’m an old rpg min-maxxer and this scratches all the itchy spots. I can lose an hour contemplating an officers third job..Version: 3.0.81

Loving this game!I’ve been playing this game for a couple months now on the same play through and am still not bored. Tres Brothers have done a great job of continuing to update the game and adding new ships and other content as well as bug fixes. My only minor complaint is that you can’t customize your ships color. That’s far from game breaking though and is still well worth the money..Version: 2.6.13
