✓ WHAT THE FRIKETY!? SUPER COOLOk so like,, this is the weirdest, most amazing brilliant game ever there seems to be some sort of deeper meaning, but for now i’ll just talk about the game 👴🏻 (idk but i think the meaning is somewhat about how tinder is a bit dumb if you wanna find love) so you start by putting in your name and then some like creature thing called annie shows you around. then you start swiping, and then you like get to talk to the creatures, and it feels very real because they respond in ways they probably normally would. like, you have to wait for them to reapond also, Jie En Lee is soooo friken talented likeeee all the portraits brought me joyssss when i saw the creatures 👀 uhmmmm soooo on my first account, i got really far and then made a kinda massive mistake 0-0 lol *SPOILERS! if you don’t want ‘em, skip to the picture of a walrus.* sooo i kinda went on a date with some alien called...dana? dina? idk anyway soooo in her bio she said she was HIP which at the time i thought she meant like cool? lolll anyway turns out she meant HUMAN INGESTING PERSON 🤸🕳 basically i got eaten alive by a weird girly from another planet, but it was ok bc i started again on my new acc 🦭 and like, i still haven’t found love, but this bloody app is so amazing that even people unmatchimg you is fun. ✓ Fun game!!I’m really enjoying this game!! the characters are all interesting and realistic, and i love the stylization options for the text. one of the main things i would like to be added to the game are pronouns or something along those lines because i didn’t realize i’d been using the wrong pronouns for someone until we had our date. tysm!!.Version: 1.0.5
✓ Cute but...The concept is really cute and the art is adorable! The gameplay leaves quite a bit to be desired; it would be nice if we could go on more dates before settling on that one person as it ends the game and you’d have to start again. The dates are not that interesting as it’s just all text based - would be cool if there was scenery art that corresponded with the date or some kind of comic strip scene. Hopefully there will be more updates for this game since it is a paid app after all..Version: 1.0.9
✓ Love it, but one thingI really like this! it’s a very fresh take on the visual novel dating game with lovely art and a simple easy to understand ui. my only issue is with the writing. it feels like a lot of the potential partners are very cold and i found it difficult to choose the right options to make them like me. it often feels like no matter what text option you choose the character will have a negative reaction :/ i’ll still play it but that’s my one bugbear with it. great job otherwise.Version: 1.0.9
✓ Lovely gameI downloaded this on a whim while looking at new games, and I’m so happy I did. This doesn’t play like any other dating sim I’ve played, there’s a wide variety of characters with great art, and the conversations almost feel like you’re talking to another person. I’d love to see DLC for it in the future. There’s one small issue I ran into and I left the match going in case it’s intentional, but I’ve been unable to respond to Nia for the past four days. ✓ I pre-ordered and I'm happy I didI had pre-ordered this game a while back, then totally forgot about it. When I got the notification, I was so excited! The game is a perfect "in the background" activity. I get bored of mobile games pretty quickly, so it's nice that they limit how many likes you can divvy out at once. I met my girlfriend on a dating app ages ago and this game instantly reminded me of all the highs and lows that come from swiping. That alone makes this game a must play. ✓ Amazing!If you are wanting a dating game where the people are head over heels for you in the first instant, this game is not for you. If you are interested in a game that emulates real world dating, you are in luck. This game is frustrating in the same way Tinder is. You match with people, go on dates, and more often than not they fizzle into nothing. You’ll feel connected with a person, only for them to ghost you or tell you it won’t work. It is heartbreaking and honest. I was not expecting this game to make me so emotional. There is an option to have an ex on the game. I swiped right on him for giggles and ended up feeling some sense of closure in our relationship. The art is super cute and very interesting. Many of the aliens do not go by human notions of gender. Many females dress more masculine and males more feminine, so it is a bit difficult to see who is what gender if you have a preference. That would be the only thing I would change. It would be nice to see the aliens pronouns listed in their Tender bios for both my own personal preferences and to see how different alien species/races present their gender. ✓ A JoyIn a year with Persona Strikers, Resident Evil 8, Hitman 3, and more, I am beyond surprised that my favorite game of 2021 so far is this cute mobile dating game. Made me realize how much apps like Tinder or OkCupid can hit those dopamine highs. This game is so unbelievably charming, I love exploring and getting to know all of these characters, some who are great, some who are downright rude, one who ate me. I do wonder, I imagine it’s not possible to get a second date with every character, I do wonder how many you can actually progress with? I’ve had a lot of first dates that felt like they went really well, but the only one I’ve gotten a second date with is my Ex. Overall though it’s still a charming little game, well worth the $3. ✓ Insanely good! Just find the wait times a little longI absolutely love these kinds of games, but they're so rare, I was excited beyond belief when I saw this one. And it's seriously great! I can only imagine how long it took to design all the profiles, kudos to everyone who worked on making this app happen in its entirety. However, I will recount my day thus far. Downloaded in the afternoon - swiped my ten times basically straight away - got one message about ten minutes later - then regretted my choice so I unmatched them - waited five more hours or so to be able to swipe more - haven't received another match/message since (about two more hours later) - just kind of sitting here like... really lonely actually, ahaha! So I guess the best advice I could give is add more things to do or rather speed the current timeline up a bit. I totally adore the idea of everything being in real time, but when interactions are as few and far between as this, I sort of worry I'll forget about the game, or that it'll get lost on me faster if that makes sense? I hope I don't sound rude as that isn't my intention at all. Gameplay is awesome, range is incredible, love love love all'a that, there purely isn't enough! Granted I did make a mistake and maybe there was more to that first storyline, I'm unsure, anyway sorry if it feels like I'm telling you how to raise your baby. ✓ Absolutely genius narrative gameI’m still in the middle of my playthrough, but it’s been several days, and I’m dying to write about this. Tender is a refreshingly honest look at online dating. While most everyone in the game is a fictional alien, the storyline itself feels so real and human. I don’t want to spoil too much since I feel it’s a game best experienced blind, but Tender does an amazing job at taking advantage of the medium to bring its world to life. It’s painful and raw and hilarious all at once, and I think that’s what makes it such a great experience. I can’t recommend this game enough..Version: 1.0.9

✓ A cute VN for people (like me) who aren’t big VN fansTender is a cute and creative dating sim VN where you date fellow-millennial monsters through a dating app. The gameplay is similar to real life Tinder: swipe left or right on the profiles and communicate with those you match with. The game takes place over a number of days where people respond in an amount of time based on their respective personality. For some, that might inspire impatience and frustration, but for those coming at it from a more casual perspective, it’s a nice relaxing pace that rewards you being selective about who you match with. But all of that is available in screenshots and other reviews so I’ll answer one question that you may still have: “is Tender worth the 2.99 USD price point?” Yes, and it’s worth even more to me. There are no ads or locked paths, not to mention plenty of replay-ability to boot. I would have gladly shelled out 5 bucks for this and still have been absolutely delighted. ✓ WoahI came across the pride section and scrolled and saw this, I liked the art style and it looked cute, so I got it. Oh. My. Gosh. The art style is truly as good as it looked on the app store, the mechanics run smoothly, and the ending I got was pretty cute. The ending I got was joining Leela, and its a really sweet ending. I likes the first date at their little dance at the farm, and liked how theres ending dialogue. Overall pretty fun. I love this game, however I wish that the dates were longer, on the first date I did with a character I forgot the name of I noticed that the date didn’t take me more than a couple minutes, which made me a bit sad since you wait so long for the date. Thats really my biggest pet peeve about the game, you wait a long time for things. But, its accurate. Love doesn’t develop overnight, and it makes sense that goes the same for a simulated one. No matter which option I select, it refuses to move forward with the dialogue. I get a response from Jackie and then I’m prompted to go through the same dialogue choice again. I can leave the conversation, but it still says it’s my turn to respond. It’s happened twice now and it’s kind of frustrating. ✓ Had fun, but... (spoilers, potentially)The game is fun, it's cute, the art is appealing, and it was nice to be able to play in short bursts rather than having to spend all my time on it. Also inclusive dating games are essentially nonexistent. They're ALL aimed at women, even if they say they aren't. So bonus points for that. I enjoyed playing it, and I'm currently running through it a second time. My only real issues with it are the fact that the only two dudes who might be considered "my type" (motorcycles, tough types) are both kind of gross from all that I was able to see. One of them is high-key abusive right out of the gate. I'm not really keen on that stereotype, when that's all we see represented. And there are two polyamorous options. One of which is without the other partner's knowledge (so.. not actually polyam), and the other is a dysfunctional relationship. That's also a kind of obnoxious stereotype about polyamorous relationships. Yeah, sure, you probably run into a lot of that on dating apps. But it was disappointing in a game. It would also be nice to know the gender of the characters before you go on a date with them lol. I don't mind dating in-game outside of my irl preferences, but it was weird to find out a character I assumed was a guy was actually a woman. Or one of the first characters I met was referred with with neutral pronouns, but I would have assumed they were male..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Cutest tinder style dating sim game for mobile!THIS IS SO CUTE I LOVE IT! Adorable dateables in a tinder style game. The monsters are so cute and characterful, and I love that they respond in a very real time kind of way. It’s super exciting getting a text, just like in a real-life, mimicking that experience perfectly and the real-time dates are also super nicely done too. The writing and art are both adorable and give the game so much charm. Beautifully designed game. My new favourite mobile game. As an additional bonus, all costs of the game are paid upfront in the £3.99 purchase (which is by far my preferred way of paying for a mobile game) allowing you to play freely without worrying about spending lots of money to make the most of the game, it’s mechanics, and the story etc. I’m so tired of these dating mobile style games costing insane amounts to enjoy properly. If you want good, upfront cost, story-driven games with mechanics designed for mobile, I’d recommend: Tender Regins (Her Majesty is my favourite from this series) Ord Lifeline.Version: 1.0.6

✓ Incredible game, but...Not sure if the creators read these, but I desperately want to know if there will ever be an update w/ more content — it’s frustrating that there are only 5 characters that you can achieve endings with out of such a large pool. The majority of the profiles I was most excited about (Allie, Sofia, Sylvia, Roxanne...) never swipe right on the player and really excellent first dates (Ian, Hannah, Teddy...) frequently result in your date never messaging you again. That being said, I’ve spent hours on this game. Beautiful artwork. The plots of individual characters and the conversations you have with them are heartbreaking, touching, hilarious, awkward and feel personal. Interspersed with satire on dating apps like Tinder, it is equal parts funny and moving. It’s something you can play over and over. Definitely worth buying. So, so, so good..Version: 1.0.9

✓ A bit of a slow burnI’ve had this game for over 24 hours now and I’ve only gotten 3 matches - it also limits how many swipes you get to like 8 or so every 5 hours. it’s definitely not a fast-paced game and even though it’s in ‘real time’ it moves a heck of a lot slower than real dating apps 😛 all that being said, the idea is so unique and I love the personality and detail that clearly went into creating this. my only complaint is that it moves too slow - if I only get a couple messages exchanged per day, this game will probably lose my attention pretty fast. Hoping for future dlc?This game is like a cross between a choose your own adventure story (for anyone who is old enough to remember those haha) and a dating app. The choices feel like they matter, and often they do. There are a lot of funny, interesting, and just really great stories. If you’ve had awkward dating experiences, this will probably sometimes hit you right in the feels. It’s really refreshing to find a game with a great story, cool art, and no micro transactions. ✓ Unique but slowMy initial response to this game was that I thought it was too slow, I’ve changed my opinion on it after playing it for a lot longer. I really like the aesthetic and the calming music that plays while you’re on a date. It’s enjoyable to see the different personalities that you’ll encounter. ✓ Please add some kind of pauseI’m really busy with school lately so I haven’t gone to any of the dates. I kept missing them so I stopped planning them so I could do them all when I’m free. But now my dates are like “why aren’t you scheduling?!?” And it’s really annoying I know the game is supposed to be realistic and stuff but I really don’t have time right now and I was wondering if you could add some sort of pause that would pause all your progress and you’d get no new messages or progress at all til unpaused. If that’s not a good idea or not possible (idk anything about game development) then maybe you can come up with something better. ✓ Fun & different!I really really enjoyed this game overall. The characters and storylines were really fun and unique. The game time is a bit slow, but I did not mind it too much, especially since you start over onde you max at 10 dates. I do wish there was more dialogue or storylines after the dates and I wish things made more sense. Saying the wrong thing can cause someone to unmatch you instantly, but I guess that’s real life. I really didn’t like how even the good dates, didn't and well and never went anywhere. I know it’s the game but definitely a bummer each time. I have really bad social anxiety and I didn’t expect this to help with that at all, but it really has. I have a few real dating apps, but I always end up never responding to messages and eventually deleting it because it gets so overwhelming. I’ve restarted my tinder at least 5 times at this point. I highly recommend the app for anyone who has experiences like this (or just needs practice for socializing in general). the characters are weirdly realistic, but the knowledge that everything is fake is so freeing, and seeing all the personality quirks in my matches makes me realize that my real matches are people too, and probably just as nervous as me :) It’s such a good way to get used to messaging people regularly instead of putting it off over and over again for months, which is what I usually do (and am currently doing!) ✓ Dating Sim for sensitive peopleI love this game. I love it. It’s very similar to using an actual dating app: conversations that go nowhere, the nervousness of not wanting to look too eager but not too indifferent, saying the wrong thing and getting the cold shoulder, and the red flags for potential bad dates. The developer really did their research for this one. Much like real life dating it can be very slow, and you can choose to fill your week up with dates or spread them further out to get more conversations. My first play through took me over a week to “win”, and that was fine by me because I actually enjoyed talking to a lot of the aliens even if it didn’t end in a date.
