Spectre Camera for Negative User Reviews

Zoom button missingThe zoom button disappears a split second after opening the app..Version: 1.1.9

It’s good - but could use improved features such as...- Up to 60 seconds exposure time - Manual ISO settings - RAW file format support - Multiple Exposure options.Version: 1.1.3

Needs some workCan get some good results with this app but, running on an iPhone XS Max 256, it crashes frequently which is irritating. So, while I’m hopeful for improvements and am happy with results, I can only give this 3 stars right now..Version: 1.0.1

SpectreI paid for this and it is extremely unimpressive. My Microsoft office has a better photo manager. Sorry guys but this was crappy and even my grandson who is major tech savvy has told me that my iPhone 11 Pro has a better program..Version: 1.1.6

Qualité de l’imageLa qualité de L’image un peut flou mais facile à utiliser , besoin d’amélioration mais pour le prix et le type de caméra utilisé je peut dire que c’est excellent et amusant ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The quality of the image may be a blur, but easy to use, need for improvement but for the price and the type of camera used I can say that it is excellent and funny ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Work for iPhone and iPad.Version: 1.0

How was this featured as an ‘App we love’?When creating images is the purpose of an app, you expect it to be able to create quality images. This app, even after the update to prevent blurring, creates blurred images every time, even in daylight. I’m using an XS Max and holding the phone very steady. Do App Store staff actually try these apps out? Does the developer test their app? Very disappointing..Version: 1.0.1

Not quite readyI LOVE the idea and have gotten a few great results using 3 seconds. However, even placing the phone flat on my window, I get blurry results in the sunlight when bumping to 5 or 9. I’m optimistic it’ll get better (the app was JUST released, after all). But, I struggled to get consistent results. Looking forward to where this is heading. Beautiful interface that’s easy to use, just an output issue at the moment..Version: 1.0

Definitely needs a tripod. Please add shutter delayGreat little app. It would be great to be able to control the duration of exposure, but having a shutter delay is essential go getting sharp fotos with any regularity.Version: 1.1.9

UselessThey claim their app uses “AI” because it’s so hot right now, but rest assured that all photos shot in dark environments will look horrible with this app, unlike what real slow shutter speed photos look like. A glowing review made me try this out and, although cheap, it’s just a waste of time..Version: 1.0

No subscriptions, no nonsenseIf subscriptions are nonsense why are they part of Halide? And why as someone who has paid for this app before do I need to pay again to get an app icon?.Version: 1.5.0

Cool, but needs workI feel like the sample photos might have taken with a tripod. Hit or miss without one, even on the XS Max. I hope that future updates will take better advantage of the neural engine on the latest iPhones to do a better job with the AI stabilization. Poor low light performance, only good at night if you want light trails - but then again, that’s not what this app is for, but perhaps future updates will enhance low light abilities. I’ll update this review accordingly as updates are released - hoping for the best!.Version: 1.0

High ExpectationsDoes it work at night handheld? Yes. But it seems like I am using an iPhone 1 Handheld or with a tripod. The images are way way too soft. Seems like there is 500% noise reduction..Version: 1.1.6

I love this app… butI love this app but be sure to open it on your new phone in a place that has cell reception first. I went for a hike to a beach and wanted to use it but couldn’t because shrug emoji it wasn’t sure if I’d paid for it. Apps should work without their owner reminding them they can work. I’ll keep using it (as I have for years) but I’m going to hold this emotional grudge every time I open the app now..Version: 1.5.4

Free version is essentially useless.I use a variety of long exposure apps and exhibit large scale ICM images. The Spectre app sounded as though it might usefully expand my toolkit, but the terrible results from the free version gave me no confidence that the Pro version would be any better. The hype was promising but the reality is it’s the worst long exposure app I’ve used..Version: 1.5.4

Blurry2/10/2019 Disappointing. Even stock camera app took better pictures in terms of sharpness and capturing the scene. Much better using stock camera app in low light condition. ——— Pics are blurry even in ample light. Better use stock camera app..Version: 1.1.4

Super disappointedI was greatly disappointed in this app after reading it won a design award. I haven’t yet been able to take a picture worth keeping. Everything is blurry. The stabilization is terrible so the parts of the shot that aren’t in motion still get slightly blurred. Things in motion add streaks so you are never getting a nice clean shot with no people as they advertise. All in all I can’t find any use for this app because all the uses they suggest it for turn out worse than a traditional still photo..Version: 1.1.4

Doesn’t Work as ExpectedBased on claims, I expected it to work like a camera on ‘bulb’ setting, where stationary objects are in sharp focus and moving objects have a soft blurred effect. What you get is an image where it de-focuses the frame, then when you tap on it, it zooms in and focuses, then de-focuses again to make a ‘live’ photo. I’ll never post an out of focus photo hoping someone will know to click on it. Their time effect is a slow dissolve between frames of the moving objects which are out of focus anyway. I e-mailed support in case I was missing something and they never responded..Version: 1.1.0

No impressedI bought this thinking it was actually going to give me good results, and while the images are not bad, they are simply Live Photo’s, which you already have as a setting on your iPhone, simply select Live Photo on your iPhone, hold still for a few seconds, preview the image, slide up and to the left 3 times and select long exposure, it’s been a setting on iPhones for ages, this is the same and NOTHING more, not impressed paying for an app that does exactly the same as my phones hardware.Version: 1.1.10

Great app but bug in ios 16App freezes if you try to look at the pics in the recent album from inside the app. You need to completely shut it down to get it going again. Hopefully this will be fixed soon..Version: 1.1.11

Cool concept but...Auto focus stabilizer is terrible. Every photo is blurry for some reason.Version: 1.0.1

Doesn’t workNot a fan.Version: 1.1.10

Waste of moneyHow do I get a refund? Only got it as App Store said app of the year. You have got to be joking!!! Very disappointed in the app and the App Store. Will never trust App Store recommendations again. Poor resolution; does not get rid of people as you can still see slight blur of them..Version: 1.1.4

Crashes often, blurryThe app crashes often when trying to take a photo. In fact it crashed on the very first time after installing. Ever since every time I try to use it, there will be at least 1 crash. Relaunching it usually works. But photos don’t look good - blurry..Version: 1.1.1

Not bad...Reasonably impressed with the app so far, I’ve had some not bad results hand held. Usually take maybe three shots and one of them comes out okay. What I’d like to see now is support for the Apple Watch, like the native Camera app has. So that if using on a tripod or similar I can trigger it to take a photo from the Watch. That would be far more useful than Siri for me..Version: 1.0.2

Maybe bugged? This is a fantastic idea. But it feels like the app has a bug which means the stabilisation hasn’t been activated. All the pictures are blurred, even if the camera is supported extremely still on a hard surface. (Using my Xs Max). Could the developers please sort out a fix?.Version: 1.0

Fiddly to useGenerally a good app but it is fiddly to use outside of the default removing moving objects setting. Most picture are spur of the moment things. If you don't use the app all the time, doing things like light trails means reading the instructions to get the right settings. By the time you have done that, the photo op has probably passed. Devs, just make life easier buy adding a mode button to make the app easier to use.Version: 1.1.9

No PrivacyThe app forces read/write access to your photo library and access to your location.Version: 1.0.1

GarbageWorst camera app that I and many others have used. I see a lot of the 5 star reviews sound like they are talking about a different app so I guess it’s true what people are saying, you are using paid review services. Every article written about this app talks about how this is the best camera app ever, yet any person who isn’t in a position to be bribed into making a fake positive review has nothing good to say about it. I don’t think that’s a coincidence. I’ve also seen you be sarcastic and rude to negative customer reviews “okay I’ll update the app to make your hand more steady”. What kind of human garbage treats their customers (that they just scammed) like that? They gave you money for an app that doesn’t work and you’re gonna disrespect them? Don’t buy, and don’t waste your time..Version: 1.1.10

Intense battery drainer!Beware, version as of Dec 5th on latest iOS, drains my battery so rapidly that the phone gets warm - even when I’m “not” using it. I discovered that until I swipe to close the program, it seems to draw more power than leaving my screen on constant at full brightness. (My kid can play games nonstop without draining the battery that fast... usually.). Pure guess, but I suspect it puts the CPU on highest performance and keeps it there. I hope they’l fix this quickly, but it’s been a couple of weeks. Disappointing glitch for such a highly rated app..Version: 1.1.4

Disappointed even after updateThis is just not living up to expectations. I understand that many people would find it as a great improvement over stock camera app on iPhone, maybe, but... this is not even close to Google Pixel in Night Sight mode. I’ve got XS Max with the best iPhone cameras out there, and I waited for an update to see if things got better... nope this is just another case of fake news. The results are still disappointing, and barely better then stock Camera app. Yes, lights are blurred and give nice trails, but there is no clarity however steady you held the phone. My old faithful NightCap app does equal job it seems. And it offers a greater control over exposure and ISO settings when you have a tripod. So why I should keep Spectre?.Version: 1.0.1

BlurryThis app takes blurry photos. I compared the photos with ProShot and ProCamera. I suggest avoiding this app if you are into quality photos..Version: 1.1.6

MisleadingUnusable for phones older than iPhone 8..Version: 1.0.2

Not for older phonesFound out too late.Version: 1.0

The app certainly underperformI was looking forward to trying this app as I found several twitter handles congratulate and spoke highly about this app. After downloading, first thing I notice was how blurry the photos look. The photos look so bad to the point that I found no use for this app and deleted then. Furthermore, the app provides a stable symbol displayed on the apple whilst using the it, but the issue is stability. I found the app so sluggish and annoying that it definitely not ready for public. Why hardcore twitter users and YouTubers hyping this app is what I need to investigate..Version: 1.0.1

UselessThis apps is useless for taking star photos. Even with 15-30sec exposure the stars don’t show up. I get beautiful Milky Way photos just using normal iPhone 12 Pro camera..Version: 1.5.2

The good, the bad, the uglyThe good: This is one of the apps I just always wanted to have, an easy way to make great long exposures at night, or so it promises. Gorgeous and intuitive UI, one of the best onboarding experiences I have seen, good stuff all around in these areas. To make the build-up of the photo a Live Photo is genius. The bad: Unfortunately (right now) it seems the marketing over promises, see below: The ugly: Alas, the promised results are not cutting it (yet), all photos I took are quite blurry and unfortunately the app doesn’t deliver miracles. Even when holding the phone firmly resting on a concrete balcony and the indicator stating “stable” all along, the photos come out so blurry that you could only use them in a quick Instagram post or tweet at low rest. A shame, hence the two stars. I still have high hopes this rock star team can quickly improve the app over time, and if so, a lot more stars will quickly follow..Version: 1.0

Buggy - has potential but they need to fix the bugsTwice now this camera app has crashed my phone and caused it to reboot. No other apps cause my phone to do this. The first time I submitted a ticket they acknowledged the issue and said an update was coming to fix it, so I waited for the update and then eventually tired it again. It again caused my phone to reboot. I reopened the support ticket and now a different person responded and is blaming my phones battery....uh no. My battery health is 93% and no other apps or times my phone has every force rebooted itself until I have tired the Spectre app. I am trying to work with their engineers to debug this but they keep giving me the runaround telling me I should visit an Apple store to get my battery replaced...no! If they continue to refuse support I will be filling a report with Apple because of this behavior and demanding a refund..Version: 1.1.1

Every image is blurry except first sort ofPerhaps this is user error, but I can’t imagine, particularly in using tripods, or other holders to hold the phone still, and at night, I am still unable to take a non-blurry photo. All of the photos come out blurry despite the fact that they are perfectly clear, or crisp, in the iPhones native camera app. I feel like that defeats the purpose of this product. I have tried many variations, but the settings are very limited. I am not really sure how this party can be promoted, even less so an editors choice. Despite the low-cost, I am completely turned off, I really wish I could get my money back, because it simply doesn’t work. I’d rather pay more for a lens that works every time, then an app that does nothing that it promises..Version: 1.1.0

Doesn’t do what it saysEvery photo taken on this app is blurry and frankly a terrible picture compared to the standard camera app on the iPhone. Taking long exposure shots trying to remove unwanted people from the shop just doesn’t work. Taking long exposures of highways just doesn’t work. The images are blurry not matter what length timer you put on. Complete waste of money. The app will be deleted from my phone and never seen again. Also I have the 11 pro max if that is relevant..Version: 1.1.6

App locks when editing toolbar icon prefsJust purchased bundle went to investigate rearranging toolbar when app locked. Unable exit so tried deleting app to reinstall but wants me to repurchase, not impressed. Possibly waiting for full payment to processed but still a bit of a worrying start..Version: 1.1.8

Waste of money. Not good. Every photo I take is blurred however still the phone is held. After several emails to the developers to resolve the problem they still have not managed to fix the problem and have now stopped answering my emails Don’t waste your money..Version: 1.1.1

DeletedFound it harder to use than my DSLR Camera..Version: 1.1.4

TerribleWhoa. The description said clear photos. Every photo I have taken is blurry beyond belief. Totally useless. What gives developers??.Version: 1.0

Blurry, unstable shotsStabilisation definitely doesn’t work. Period. While testing I never managed to get a photo that wouldn’t be blurry. I guess with tripod you could get good results but it wasn’t the point of that app. In fact, built in Live Photo’s options are giving far better long exposure effects!.Version: 1.0.1

Doesn’t work on iphone7I’ve updated to the latest version and gave 3 starts (was 1), this is a big improvement on initial tests, I’ll do more tomorrow and perhaps upgrade the rating again. stability is now on by default, but also make sure you turn off light trails (from auto) during the day as that gave me better results V1... I bought this last night, thinking it'd be better than that provided by the ios "long exposure" effect, which has its uses. I tried it today down at the beach and was unimpressed, everything was blurry. Perhaps it works if the phone is on a stand of some sorts although the blurb says its not needed, or perhaps it needs sunshine although its meant to work at night. I'll try again and update this if I get better results Ps, I see on DPR that it needs iPhone 8 or higher for handheld shots, I didn’t see that when I bought spectre.. It obviously pays to read the small print, £1.99 for the app and now I need another £999 to upgrade my iPhone 7, not gonna happen any time soon It has a stabilisation option, off by default which is daft. It still doesn’t work with it on.Version: 1.1.1

Avoid on older iPhones ( iPhone 7 )I was excited to get this app and try it out on all the local moving water but all the shots are motion blurred on static element even when the sensor says stable and the phone is braced solid on a rock. Seems like the only way to get a clear shot is use a tripod which sort of defeats purpose. Maybe newer iPhones do better..Version: 1.1.1

MehGood: the app does not collect any of your personal data. That’s unusual, and welcome. Not so good: on iPhone 15 Pro, the native camera app takes better low light pictures than Spectre. If the app is only intended to help you capture light trails at night, great. But that’s a fairly narrow use-case. Otherwise, stick with the stick camera app or Halide..Version: 1.5.4

Photos are blurryTerrible app. All photos are blurry. You will need a tripod or some sort of iPhone holder to hold the iPhone absolutely steady. Then it might work. Don’t waste your time as you will just get frustrated because every single photo is blurry and their stabilization function does not work at all..Version: 1.1.1

Not ‘stable’, no help... Updated for V1.0.1I have been trying this on my iPhone 8, taking 3-second exposures hand-held with lots of light. I waited for the ‘stability’ indicator to read “stable” and ensured it did throughout the exposure. Every image so far shows significant movement blur. Inspection of ‘live’ photo in Photos shows just one image (the first) that is not: but not a long-exposure image BUT , obviously. So I clicked on the link for the FAQ but there is none: only the Halide FAQs. I tried the ‘videos’ link: Safari showed only an error. —— Ok v1.0.1 seems to do stabilisation better. 3 secs sorta works. Help still missing. WHY the Devs released a V1.0 that did not hit the key selling point is a mystery to me..Version: 1.0.1

It doesn’t work. What they show in the videos is not what the app can actually do - what you really get is a blurry mess. I’m sure if you use a tripod and have the perfect conditions you can get better results but this doesn’t work. Cortex Cam works better (still not perfect though) and that came out a few years ago..Version: 1.0.1

What is this?I've been trying this app but am unsure what it's supposed to do. All my pictures are blurred. The live screen is constantly flickering rendering the app unpleasant to use. Perhaps my iphone 6+ isn't up to scratch. The wonderful images of light streams and sea scape are beyond my abilities as things stand..Version: 1.0.1

Garbage don’t waste your $I posted a short review and the developer responded so I try to email the support team regarding this app. The developer said the object had to very still to get a picture that isn’t blurry . But in the app description it says captures “Live Photo’s”. That’s false advertisement. I’ve already screenshot everything for proof on my end . I would like my refund because this app is useless to me . I have a 1 year old and there is no way ima get her to sit completely still for a photo ————————————————————- Regarding the response to my review on App Store , my apologies I was under the impression this camera took Live Photo’s just as the basic camera on iPhone does I didn’t realize . It was limited to taking photos of “still” objects. Maybe you should update the app description since it’s not technically a “LIVE PHOTO” if you’re unable to move . Also I would like a full refund for false advertisement. This camera is useless to me. I have a 1 year old who moves a lot , no way I’m gonna get her to sit perfectly still . Hope to hear back soon 🙂 My email ^^^.Version: 1.1.6

Daytime = great. Night shots = blurry.I would say this is a great / fantastic app, because no tripod is needed for long exposures! Except on my iPhoneX, for dimly lit shots (at night etc), once the shutter button is pressed the app decides to refocus WHILE the image capture process is occurring - which results in blurry out of focus images. Fun. Daytime or well-lit operation however the app does as advertised. Nice little long exposure captures. I do wish there was a way to lock focus - if so I would give this app 5 stars. Until then... 2..Version: 1.1.1

Great potential... doesn’t seem to be there yetResults so far have been rather lack lustre. Promises to remove people and deliver sharp images, but regrettably there blurred and full of feint ghosts. The maximum current exposure is 9 seconds. It would be great to see this vastly lengthened. So when the iPhone is placed in a tripod. The phone could be left for several minutes to get a truly clear picture? Like you would for a time lapse, but removes everyone precisely over time..Version: 1.1.5

Not as advertised. Won't let me get a refund.I cannot speak positively about this app. I will certainly speak about it negatively..Version: 1.1.5

Initially disappointedI've not tried the app out extensively but will continue trying. My first trial indoor shots keeping the phone very still with me sitting down and with braced elbows produced blurry results even with Stabilise on. Doing an identical trial shot with the native camera app set on Live photo and choosing the Long Exposure edit created a less blurry image than Spectre..Version: 1.1.0

Blurry even on stationary objects indoorsWas pretty excited to hear about this app. Unfortunately I’m not sure it lives up to expectations. If you put your iPhone on a tripod and take a picture of a stationary object indoors where there is no wind, it appears blurry even at the 3 second exposure. It’s possible the machine learning is optimised for photos including night skies with point sources that have a higher contrast. I haven’t had a chance to try this yet. It’s just a pity it doesn’t work for darker scenes as well such as Googles pixel camera..Version: 1.0.1

Frozen alreadyStill exploring and it froze. Haven’t even taken a picture yet. I will restart the IPad and try again..Version: 1.1.2

Needs a trial period for its main feature…Haven’t used the app as it requires purchasing its main selling feature (which is long exposure photography). It seems rather odd that they wouldn’t provide or offer a trial period or basic (say 5) number of photographs to be taken so that the customer could make an informed decision about purchasing the product. I’m incredibly interested in this app for this exact reason, but unfortunately won’t just take a chance in buying it when it’s unknown if it works as advertised. You guys should really look into this, in addition to not forcing users into providing the app location information or access to your photo library just to have a look at the app’s interface….Version: 1.5.4

AwfulThis app is seriously awful, I have no clue why some tech blogs are pushing it so hard. Didn’t work before the update, doesn’t work after the update. Even with a tripod photos are still a blurry mess..Version: 1.1.1

Doesn’t work with iPhone 10xs maxTried it doesn’t take photos at all after checking all the settings . blurred images of water moving don’t work in the one photo that did. Can’t recommend this at all. Will raise a complaint to Apple and try and get my money back. Cannot recommend at all..Version: 1.1.6

Has potential...I’m a big fan of halide so naturally I bought their long exposure App.I love long exposure shots and was really pleased halide had developed this type of App. They have fixed a lot of the small bugs but I would still like to see the long exposure times increased to the same as slow shutter and so more features added, once they do that it will definitely be a five star App and I will rate it as so..Version: 1.1.0

Do not expect miraclesLike in every long exposure photography, your camera needs to be on a tripod or rested against something. Stabilisation indicator on the app seems to be a gimmick because a microscopic hand tremor will result in a blurry whole image. At the moment, I wouldn’t recommend this app over any other “long exposure” app..Version: 1.0.1

Always blurry and out of focusShot a few by the water and I can get silky results on the water reflections. The architecture are as sharp as you can take directly from a phone camera. Brilliant. But when shooting at night the image is always, always out of focus. Tap-to-focus doesn’t work. It focuses and immediately shift out of focus. I’m using it on an iPhone XS so your miles may vary..Version: 1.1.0

So far so good but crashes too oftenTaking photos crashes the app (iPhone 8) about 30% off the time. Quite frustrating. Also please add iPad screen support. I want to take photos from my iPad Pro. Thanks!.Version: 1.1.2

Stabilizer TerribleThe image stabilizer is terrible. You need the hands of a surgeon to get a shot that’s not a blurry mess, even on a recent iPhone. I regret purchasing this app..Version: 1.0.2

Moment is a lot betterFor £2.99 this is a one (maybe two) trick pony. Doesn’t allow you as much control as you think it does. It’s very automatic. Which is fine for some. But the moment camera app while more expensive, offers a hoard of features, and most importantly it can be used automatically too. This app is not really any better than the standard camera app. And truthfully if you want light trails, or to take a landscape shot knowing people are going to walk I front of the camera then get yourself a better value-for-money app. Something that offers a little more control. I’ll keep this installed but only because I paid for it / was mislead into thinking it does a lot more..Version: 1.1.4

2x buttonI can’t seem to see 1x-2x button on my 8+. Will update rating once it is back..Version: 1.1.2

Don’t believe everything you see! This app looks great, but it the camera just can’t focus in this app and when you take a long exposure photo it’s always blurry even when on a tripod! I would like a refund thank you! Have a lovely day xx.Version: 1.1.1

Amazing with a critical flaw. This application gets results that people just don’t believe were taken with a phone. It’s only missing one feature, and it’s ridiculous: no timer! Halide has a 30 second timer, so these programmers know how to add one. The main reason to get this app is to motion blur rivers and waterfalls. These environments introduce lots of ambient noise and if you want to include yourself in the shot, you really can’t because the odds of triggering Siri next to a real raging river or waterfall is zero. And if you hold the phone by hand, talking doesn’t make you more steady. No timer creates so many problems with using this app that it will be a deal breaker for anyone with less patience than myself. Please add one. Even a standard 10 second timer is better than nothing, though the 30 second one from Halide would really set this app above and beyond..Version: 1.1.10

Waste of Money Completely Useless Unless You Want Blurry PhotosI’m not sure whether there is currently a bug in the program, but I have been unable to get a single usable photo out of this app. Literally none of the functionality works- using on a Xs- so not a hardware issue. I’ve been holding the camera very, very still- even just letting it rest on a book. Still ALWAYS BLURRY. If you’re looking for blurry photos that take a while to take then this is the app for you. Otherwise please save your money. Apple- this is the reason there should be a real feedback mechanism for non-functional apps that promote features that simply don’t work. When you buy a useless app like this it makes you reluctant to pay for apps in general until there’s proof of functionality. Developers- you should take this down until you figure out how to fix it. Until then you’re just robbing people and almost certainly running a con with the positive reviews..Version: 1.1.0

Great but 6 months since last updateSix months means no support for the latest is and worse iPhone 14 - the lenses are incorrectly labelled. Doesn’t support 2x and 3x on Pro and (worst) I imagine it’s not taking advantage of the bigger sensor..Version: 1.1.11

IPhone XUnusable. Every photo is blurred. Tried with different settings. Nothing works as being claimed..Version: 1.0.2

Blurry PicturesDoesn’t matter how still you hold the phone you just get blurry pictures..Version: 1.1.2

Nope.-Very Blurry.-Waisted MoneyThis App really needs a better quality production.—Disappointed.—.Version: 1.1.4

Why couldn't this be a Halide addon?IPhone XR here... I haven't had the best of luck getting good results with this. I wish there was a 1-second option; or even better, an edit to shorten time after the shot (since really this is just a modified live photo). Any way, no matter how still I take a shot, there's moderate blurriness and janky effects. Hoping the team can fix some of the XR issues. But the thing that gets me most is why this had to be a separate app. Why not an IAP for halide?.Version: 1.1.4

IpadLes fonctions ne sont pas disponibles pour Ipad.Version: 1.1.6

DisappointedNot worth it.Version: 1.1.8

Close but no cigarPotentially a great app in terms of ideas but in practice the results are not really usable or predictable. I didn't check before purchasing and assumed that the stabilization feature would work with my iPhone 7 Plus - it doesn't. This was the real let down. Adding a stabilisation feature for devices earlier than iPhone 8 would be good..Version: 1.0.2

0 stars avoid this app!Using iPhone 12 Pro and bought this for light trails due to the ability to choose shutter length of opening. Tried all three settings. Watched their demos on you YouTube etc. Every picture is just blurry in every aspect even when using a tripod. Very disappointed with this app. I should have believed other reviewers but assumed they maybe had older phone models or weren’t following instructions. Complete waste of money..Version: 1.1.9

Very poor appPhotos always come out blurry and low quality. I want a refund!.Version: 1.0

A good idea but noA good idea but no. This doesn’t work. Been testing with a number of scenarios without success or a single successful non-burred photo. Most disappointing. The media PR is better than he performance..Version: 1.1.2

Has promise but has lots of bugsLots of random crashes and glitchy ui things happening. Hoping future updates fix this.Version: 1.0.1

Refund please.Photos still blurry after update. Do not get this app..Version: 1.0.1

Utterly uselessI will feel obliged to write a good review of a underrated photo app (see hydra), but I’ve never felt so strongly that I should do the opposite until now. What this app promises is definitely needed and always has been, on iPhone. THIS DOES NOT DELIVER. NOT AT ALL. None of the modes, none of the settings, not with extensive testing. Any manual camera app can get a longer exposure. Why would you want the result if it’s not stabilized? Literally every part of every picture is blurry regardless of ANY settings and YES this is an XR and YES this is after the latest update. And YES I’m holding the phone very still. I’m well above the average of patience for a specialized camera. But I can’t imagine how any user would use this and get anything but crap as a result! The results are always bad. ALWAYS. ALWAYS. I really can’t understand where the good reviews are coming from, seriously. I rarely impulse buy. But there you go. You got me. Shame on me..Version: 1.0.2

All photos from iPhone XS Max are blurryI absolutely love using Halide and was so excited about the potential for this app. Unfortunately, every shot I have taken with this app has turned out blurry, even at a 3 second exposure. I am making sure to keep the phone steady in hand and watching the indicator, but despite my best efforts the only way I can get a clear shot is to mount the phone to a tripod or prop it up and make sure there is ZERO motion. I am hoping there are improvements made to fix this issue..Version: 1.0

Poor resolutionNowhere near as good as HYDRA which is a much older app but gives a far clearer sharper image. Even with the latest upgrade Hydra is much sharper for a given photographic setting. Don’t know how they could get this so wrong obviously their AI is not very intelligent. This app needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch. I would really like this app to be pristinely sharp. Unfortunately, even with today’s update, it is still very blurry. Hydra is far superior and a far older application to boot. You guys really need to do your homework..Version: 1.1.0

Utterly disappointing at nightAdds some sort of gray overlay on top photos and reveals less detail than the stock photo app. If you are looking for an app capable of proper long exposure at night, look further..Version: 1.1.2

Won't open its s@@tWon't let me access photo library don't know what to do! No support anywhere.Version: 1.0.1

Don’t Fall for the Hype!If you like blurry photos than this might be the app for you. If you don’t then give it a miss. I bought the app because Apple said it was the app of the year. If it’s truly the app of the year then the App Store must truly be in a sad state..Version: 1.1.4

I want a refund.Pure garbage. Can only do max 9 second also..Version: 1.1.4

Screen Tearing Problem (fixed)Edit: the particular bug has been fixed and I’ve been playing around with the app. It’s pretty good, and my only complaint now is that it’s running a bit slow on my iPhone 6 Plus and that the photos I take are somewhat blurry than usual. Perhaps you could improve the performance a bit and fix the blurry photos? But other than that, this app is still pretty good and has a good concept to it. I think the concept of this app is really cool and using AI to enhance your photos, so I downloaded it but I couldn’t even use it and take a picture without this weird screen tearing bug. I re-installed the app and tried again and the problem persists. I’m assuming this app was just recently launched, so I understand there’s a lot of bugs to be fixed and I’ll gladly update my review once this particular bug gets fixed, otherwise I’ll be deleting the app and demanding a refund..Version: 1.1.0

Waste of time. Can’t take a single decent photo with itDoesn’t remove people properly at all. Buy a box of crayons, your results will be better.Version: 1.1.6

Not as advertisedWaste of money..Version: 1.1.0

BLUUUURRRRRRYYYYY~~~~~~Daytime shots are OKAY... but nighttime shots are horrible. Even when holding my phone against a pole to avoid movement. BUYER BEWARE!💸.Version: 1.1.1

Not enough controlIf your looking for more control over the timing of an ‘exposure’ on your shots then the slow shutter app gives you that, I’m disappointed that the shortest ‘exposure’ you can do is 3 sec, slow shutter gives you options to shoot at 1/4 sec 1/2 second etc and gives some really nice results. Hopefully the guys will introduce some more flexibility in future updates but at the moment there are other apps that do it better. Nice try..Version: 1.0.1

Great potential, needs workI love Halide and was very excited about this app! People complain about the motion blur but let’s be real, no real photographer would expect long exposures with something handheld. Prop it up or use a tripod, simple. My one complaint is the big lack of customization. Halide is known for its control, whereas here I feel like I’m at the mercy of the algorithm. To the devs, please use less flashy AI features and give us a UI with control..Version: 1.0

Just keeps crashing.Since buying this app all I’ve had is problems, every time I try and take a photo it starts the process and takes a snap then it doesn’t appear in the camera roll and then the app crashes, also if I’m out on a run using fitness trackers and I try and take a photo using this app it turns off all the fitness trackers and I have to re start them.. app of the year I’m just not seeing it very disappointed..Version: 1.1.6

Mis-Sold! DO NOT BUYI bought this app to remove moving people. The results are very bad, you get ghost trails even with the light trail mode off. You have up to 9 seconds to record a photo, even in a scene where it’s not very busy.. if a random person momentarily came in and out of the shot it still leaves a ghost image. If you’re waiting for 9 seconds to take a photo, that’s long enough to wait till everyone’s out the frame and take a photo with no one in the frame. The more people moving the the worse the ghosting. It ruins the image. Also I tried taking a photo with no people in the shot keeping super still. I assumed it’ll use ai to give me the sharpest frame from merging the hand held photos together removing any slight hand movement/shake to give the perfect tack sharp photo. I assumed it’ll use the gyroscope built in similar to a how a gimbal works.. Again disappointed the edges are all soft EVERY TIME with ghosting. You are better off taking a photo with the built in camera app. It’s sharper and better quality. So disappointed Please don’t claim it magically removes background people when your app does not do that. Now how do I get a refund for being Mis-sold.Version: 1.1.1

Focusing and stabilization issue, all picture is blurry.Very disappointed.Version: 1.0
