Whispers of a Machine for Negative User Reviews

Why all the good reviews?I downloaded this game based on previous reviewer’s comments. This is one of the worst looking and playing games I’ve ever played. And five quid too! What a load of ........!.Version: 1.0.10

Can’t advanceI can’t get past the crime scene. It keeps telling me to go back and talk to the witness. Wasted $3.99..Version: 1.1.5

Poor ExecutionSeverely disappointing in contrast with other games of this type. No real challenge or cleverness in the design. Too much focus on gimmicky gadgets & skills. Very repetitive tasks and boring trial & error vs thinking & puzzle aspect. Trying to make a strictly linear game but with only one action to progress in a somewhat open world design like this is a result for disaster. Not even halfway through and already bored. Rarely do I get this bored with games or disappointed enough to write a review..Version: 1.0.10

Too weird. Not what I was hoping for at all. Waste of my $. Very odd method of play and no satisfaction whatsoever..Version: 1.0.10

Old schoolThe graphic is are very old school. I feel I wasted money on this one..Version: 1.0.8

BugCannot open the fridge door with IPad Pro. Cannot acces the switch underneath it..Version: 1.0.3

Fantastic game, but unplayable bug“Error running function room_load - null pointer reference” stops me from entering the junk yard after doing the circuit puzzle, do not have the will to start again.Version: 1.0.10

CrashingReally like the game, it’s crashing very often, have had to attempt to redo sections 5-10 times to get through as it keeps falling over..Version: 1.1.5

No help.I was loving this up until getting hopelessly stuck at Lennart’s murder. There is no hint system. All online walkthroughs have other powers that allow them to solve this easily. I have “energize”, which is apparently useless- it said it retracted the gears, but nothing changed. Pipe is useless. For hours I’ve been trying everything I have on everything there is, to no avail. Too bad I’ll have to give up due to a complete lack of help- there’s not even a help email on the website..Version: 1.0.2

SUP-2447: Crasher blocks progressThis isn’t a review but since I submitted a support request a month ago and never got a response, I’m posting a comment here. I loved “Kathy Rain” and so far I’ve enjoyed this game. However I hit a bug that crashes the game every time, even after reloading my saved game. (Slight spoiler so stop reading if you haven’t played yet.) In the junk yard I entered the refrigerator. The game crashes with: “Null pointer referenced ‘room_afterFadeIn’”. I’m happy to help troubleshoot further if the developer wants to respond. See SUP-2447..Version: 1.0.5

So Far, Not So Good...Edited: 19-06-2019 Title: So Far, Not So Good... Rating: 3 Stars Well, I got stuck... on day 3, it turns out I had to do certain things before entering the church. But because I didn’t know that (until I searched online), I entered and now it won’t let me leave or do anything else - it tells me to look around, which I did as there’s not many things to do or look at in those rooms. By the looks of things, I have to start again and I’m very, very irate about it - hence the reason for the rating drop! —————— Posted: 18-06-2019 Device: iPhone X App Version: 1.0.5 Title: So Far, So Good... Rating: 5 Stars I just purchased the app today and have been playing on and off since this morning. I’ve just woken up to day 3 - day 1 to 2 was played on and off over an 8 hour period. I’m not sure of how many days are remaining but I’m quite surprised at how long each day is and that the game hasn’t been finished within 4 hours of purchasing it (like some paid apps). I don’t really play these types of games but I have really enjoyed this one and have actually missed what was being said or going on around me, in the real world lol - I was too into the game and not paying attention to anyone. The one downfall: occasionally I miss what’s being said (automatically, without selecting anything or anyone) and it can’t be replayed, like when I select something from the notebook. It’s usually a bit too fast and disappears just as fast - I don’t think I’m missing anything important... well, I hope not anyway..Version: 1.0.5

Screenshots lying/ letterboxed!!!Why you show on screenshots that it’s iPhone X optimised? It’s not optimised at all. Games that are 16:9 screen ratio got tiny black bars on left and right side of screen when optimised for iPhone X. This got black bars on top and bottom as well and ones on left and right are massive! Buyers beware all new iPhones after iPhone 8 are completely ignored and look worse than on older iPhones! Please optimise it for 2017 devices and up Edit: Still not full screen but at least proper 16:9 with black bars on sides. You forgot to implement double slide from the bottom to close app. Now when you dragging item from bottom bar it’s closing the app. Please implement it properly like other games....Version: 1.0.10

Lush looking deeply flawed Cyberpunk adventureLovely graphics, subtle Role Play, atmospheric music score. All marred by the difficulty curve. Like virtually all point & click adventures —like Monkey Island series— WOAM relies on contrived actions and Deus ex Machina plot events that open up new areas and objects that nobody in real life would encounter, so you wander about the same handful of rooms looking for the bizarre trigger points and objects that wouldn’t go together in reality. There is lateral thinking, and there is taking the piss. So with WOAM, you have an adventure where there are only two rooms until you look up the walkthrough to crack the impasse. These types of adventures make you delete them in frustration..Version: 1.0.9

Too ShortUsing a 2020 iPad Pro 2 crashes and reloads. I’ve played far worse. NO ADS. Big thumbs up. Not a bad game. A couple of puzzles took a while but overall it’s too short. I completed within a couple of days and I’m about as far from a hardcore gamer as you can get. It’s also somewhat linear so you end up on a puzzle until you complete it, instead of a more multi path approach..Version: 1.0.10

Don’t buy on iPad Pro and newer devices! Not supported!Very disappointed that the developers released this for all devices when the game is not even supported on all devices. Resoltutions 16:9 and up such as the iPad Pro have issues with the graphics being out of focus, not sharp, and just doesn’t look good overall. Not an enjoyable experience!.Version: 1.0.3
