✓ Daily gift can’t tell timeI enjoy playing the daily challenge each evening. However, every time I click on the daily gift it says I’ve already received the reward and the next reward will be in 19+ hours! I only play once a day and maybe, if I keep clicking on it, get the daily gift once or twice a week. Also, why stop the rewards at 50 stars on the daily challenge? Why not add 75? ✓ Very frustratingAlthough I am continuing to play this game, I find it extremely frustrating at times. Basic words are acceptable in their singular form, but not in plural form (for instance, ‘stone’ is accepted but ‘stones’ is not). I always try to report the missing word, but I don’t have a lot of faith that anyone even pays attention. Rather it’s there to make the player feel better. Also, very obscure words are in the puzzle - many scientific or chemical words that a person without that background would not be able to figure out. And words that work in one puzzle don’t work in another. Simply put, too many basic words not accepted, too many extremely obscure words in the puzzles, and inconsistent acceptance of words from one puzzle to the next..Version: 1.2.2

✓ Cheaters!I’ve been playing this game for about a year. It WAS really challenging and fun. Especially the Friday tournament which runs until 4 PM Sunday. Problem is, the tournament rules arena clear. On October 31st, 2021, I was in 1st place when the tournament ended. I won 1,000 coins, but you cannot collect them immediately. A few hours later, I went to collect. Suddenly, I was in 2nd place. How did this happen? Apparently, even though the tournament says the time is up, you can still play. (REALLY? That’s not fair.) To add insult to injury, not only did Robert, who was in 2nd place all day Sunday, moved to 1st place, AFTER THE TOURNAMENT ended, I didn’t even get my 2nd place 500 coins. I sent an email with no response. That’s why I’m rating it with one star. BEWARE. Oh, and on the Daily Bonus game, you can never earn 500 coins at the end of the month or get 5 stars. I think I’ll delete this game. So sad..Version: 2.5.1
✓ Real wordsAs you get higher up in the game it stops giving you credit for real words and only recognizes the words in the puzzle. Very frustrating when you put words in like head, real, lard and heard and it shakes indicating that there is no such word. ✓ It’s OkayOk, so when I used it, it was fine! But the ads, they have false “x”s. And it’s just aggravating. And I don’t even press anything on my screen, but then it just randomly takes me to the App Store. If you want this, I recommend for you to either buy the “No Ads” or just play when not connected to Wi-Fi or something. Then maybe it won’t have ads. I would buy the “No Ads” but I don’t have any money on my iTunes. So just look at other reviews with the same problem, I guess. But other than that, it’s a good app with an ad after each game. ✓ Battery impactThe game itself is enjoyable though frustrating with occasional dubious words as other reviewers have commented. The biggest problem that I have encountered on my iPad Air 2 has been the impact on the battery. Not only does my battery run through its charge when I am playing but if I leave the app running in the background it continues to do so, even when the iPad is plugged in. I keep my iPad charging besides my bed at night and, as you’d expect, it is fully charged each morning when I awake. If I leave this app running in the background overnight the charge is near 30%. An additional observation is that the battery is hotter than normal when playing the app or it is in the background. My son passed me my iPad the other day and immediately commented on how hot it was to the touch. These are merely empirical observations and maybe it’s a coincidence however these issues didn’t exist before I had the app and disappear immediately I close the app properly. Much as I enjoy playing it I’ve decided to remove it from my iPad permanently because it’s both annoying and I worry about long term damage to the longevity of my iPad..Version: 1.2.5
✓ Word calm or Frustration?I enjoy a challenge but some of the words being used are ridiculous- misspellings and words most people have never heard of - e.g- “ aglet” - the bit on the end of a shoe lace to prevent it fraying - in everyone’s vocabulary I am sure! ✓ Easy to hit wrong buttonVery frustrating.... There is an inapp purchase option of 280 coins for some of the letters to be revealed. But it is so easy to accidentally touch the button and whoosh.... coins are gone. There needs to be a “confirm” button so this won’t be accidentally activated. ✓ You need to look at your programmingI love playing this game I am on level 4650. There are so many inconsistencies of words between levels it’s frustrating. Words are acceptable in some levels but not in others including plural forms, I started off sending missing words but gave up because it’s the same ones over and over. Your game needs to access one bank of acceptable words instead of of one for each level. Either make all words acceptable or just the ones in the grid. ✓ Too easy to accidentally press the wrong thing!!The annoying adverts in this game play second fiddle to the most annoying issue that this game pass. Sometimes when you’re playing you might be moving around or a finger or thumb might accidentally hit somewhere on the screen that you didn’t intend. If you’re unlucky like I have been on a number of occasions now, Your finger will accidentally hit one of the helper features on the screen and it will take away almost 300 coins which you have spent days and days trying to earn. There is no undo obviously so what The developers need to do is to add on an “are you sure (Y/N)“ dialogue before any of these features can be utilised. That will prevent the accidental loss of days and days of hard earned coins, because of this happens to me one more time this game is getting deleted. It used to be difficult to obtain three stars, since the latest version it is almost impossible. Twice I have received three stars in the last few days and did not receive the coin rewards. When contacting the developer, I was advised that I had used the hint button more than one time. Because there are so many four letter words that will fit within the context of a specific area of the puzzle, it’s almost impossible to get it right on the first try. Previously, I was usually able to figure out the correct words for the specific space. Now, because there are so many possibilities, it’s all luck and I have been using hints, which I never had to do before. I also agree with the other reviewer‘s regarding the vast amount of missing words from their dictionary. Many common words are missing, and even the plural of a word that it will except is rejected as a plural. This is not a calming word game it is a frustrating word game and I am deleting it. ✓ Daily ChallengeYou guys just can’t stand to let someone get much of the rewards in the Daily Challenge, can you?!?! I’ve had quite a few times when I have not even used any of the hints & had even 32 extra words recently, plus of course, finishing the actual challenge words. But I still only received one point (or whatever you call them)!!!! Even if someone uses a hint or 2, we should always be able to earn 2 reward points. ✓ 500 coin scam - or glitch?I enjoyed this to begin with, but some of the words are getting questionable. Some of them can’t be found in the most comprehensive dictionary, they’re that obscure. But the main issue I had was getting the 500 coins when playing the Daily Challenge. Twice I’ve played it every day for 31 days, completing the Daily Challenge puzzle - and both times it reverts back to Day One not paying out the coins. I contacted the makers of the game and although they replied, they just told me to complete The Daily Challenge every day to get the coins - which I’ve done twice now, seeing the days tick off on the challenge board. Played game avidly after first downloaded, so much so that I reached Level 2489 (waaaayy too much time on device). Previously eagerly looked forward to the daily challenge because in order to attain the 3-star level, you follow the clover leaf and determine correct word for its position. But at some point in Aug 2020, it has become exactly the same “HERALD” letter scramble for 2-3 weeks in a row, in exactly same pattern/sequence, so I no longer play that. Levels are no longer a challenge, possibly from complacency on my part and/or theirs. And yes, am current on updates. Possibly the lack of challenge is because it’s the free version, and this is a method to encourage the player to purchase the game. ✓ I think I misunderstoodI’m not sure how to rate this because everyone is different. For example every ad I saw that led me to download the game made me believe that there was tranquil music playing in the background (which there isn’t) and that is actually the primary reason I downloaded it. Without the music that it appears to have in the ads, it’s just a standard word puzzle. So if you want to download it for the puzzle then you’ll probably enjoy it, though it is very basic and the words are quite simple, if you wanted the music like me, don’t bother because aside from a 2 note, 2 second clip there really isn’t any. The voice of the person who “cheers you on” is really annoying (but then you can just turn her off) but then you’re just playing in silence. This is so even though otherwise benign “bad” words are not allowed to play the game. Also, it is often impossible (probably by design) to close certain ads, even when the “x” appears. Lastly, there are MANY common everyday words that are not accepted even though the game includes many words that are specialized jargon. Very inconsistent! ✓ Great on the Surface - Bad at the CoreI played about 150 levels of this, and even more levels of other versions by the same company. But it's frustrated me too many times and I have to remove it. A number of common words are missing from their dictionary. Ancient and unused words are in there that probably shouldn't be. And their puzzle maker sometimes "misses" perfectly good words and instead chooses something completely obscure. For example, given the letters P-L-Y-R-T-A, they don't spell PARTLY or even PALTRY but instead choose RAPTLY. Who has ever heard, much less used, the word "raptly?" It's not called "Word Difficulty" or "Word Frustration" but "Word Calm." But it has the opposite effect until they change the core dictionary. They make the definition of each word available, and they cite the dictionary they quote from, but sometimes they quote from dictionaries I've never heard of. Why not stick with mainstream dictionaries and words that are still in use today? The game is great in concept, well-programmed and has a pleasant user interface. But at it's heart was a bad decision on what set of words to build the game upon..Version: 1.2.5

Each individual games is often missing several very common words. The game invites you enter missing words and I often so so several times each game. It then thanks me for letting them know, but I can’t tell that it ever makes a difference in terms of improving the dictionary quality of the game. As I get further and further into this game, it gets more and more annoying not to get credit for very basic words, often several per game. I have really enjoyed this game in the past, especially as a pastime during our pandemic isolation, so I’ll see if the new version has a better dictionary, or not. At level 550, when given the letters RAHECRY, the game refuses to accept obvious words, for example: care, arch, hear, hare, and so on. This is totally unacceptable, I’m not sure, at this point, if it is worth continuing with whatever challenge is being presented when I will not get credit for these “bonus” words which do not appear in the crossword. This is very frustrating, and I’m tired of having to constantly try to “educate” the game by supplying “missing words.” Please respond and repair. Another suggestion is that the developers reference a more reputable and exhaustive dictionary. ✓ Works OK but limited vocabularyThe game itself is easy enough to play and runs smoothly, apart from bombarding you with ads. The main fault is the inaccurate, incomplete and inconsistent vocabulary - doesn’t like place names, except where it does, doesn’t like abbreviations except where it does, basically seems to have a vocabulary put together by a group of millennials and what they think are proper words.Version: 1.1.3

✓ Disappointed in updateThis was one of my favorite games. I would play for hours. It is challenging and fun to play while listening to music or an audio book. The update changed that. I play on my phone and now I can no longer listen to anything on my phone while playing this game. The update also revamped looking up the the meaning of a word that is familiar to the player. That feature has been changed or removed. In addition, all of the words in the dictionary are not loaded in the game. It may include the singular tense but not the plural or the reverse; or some words are accepted on one level but not others, which is very confusing..Version: 2.3.1
✓ Rating of truth in gamesSo the game is self is just your standard fair. There’s nothing wrong with it for say it’s not any better any worse same number of ad same add across the bottom, same same same same same of every one of these games when I take issue with not just with this game, but with 90% of games out there is there ads or misleading. The ad that I clicked on is nothing like the I played several rounds trying to give it a chance to see if it offered the game play the the ad showed. And sadly, but not unexpectedly it has not come anywhere near what the ad is for the app. All I can say is between those misogynistic inappropriate ads out there and the flat out lying ads about what game you were going to be getting went down loaded makes me question what Apple is doing gave it to star simply because it’s it’s all right I mean again as I said in the first couple of sentences it’s nothing to write home about but it’s not bad either especially if it’s the to play with this sort of figure out what the word is game so there you have it happy Friday. ✓ It’s Word Crossy under a different name.I downloaded this game because the ad I saw looked interesting. Unfortunately it would seem that this was one of those ads that has nothing to do with the actual gameplay. This game is exactly the same as Word Crossy—it even has all of the same sound effects except it penalizes you for some words that aren’t in the puzzle even though it tells you that you can get bonus words (words that aren’t in the puzzle) and presumably either get points or more likely once you get a certain number of bonus words you get a few coins as a reward..Version: 1.1.2(6)

✓ I’m doneI’ve been a long time player of this game and would play at least a few rounds a day. The ads have continued to get longer and more intrusive to gameplay. Weekly tournaments are played (you have no choice) and you can usually spend a little time over your weekend to get in the top 3. I caught this game cheating. I was up 400 points in a tournament and decided to play one more round before taking a break. After the round was finished I did a quick score check and all of the sudden I was down over 400 points. There is no way someone scored over 800 points in less than a minute. Not only did I immediately delete this game but I have decided to boycott this developer..Version: 2.7.1

✓ Made up wordsWas fun for a while but many of the words are made up & perfectly correct words are often disallowed. Frustrating also is that sometimes repeating the same word can be acceptable later! Most annoying now is getting the same daily challenge day after day..Version: 1.2.5
