RISE: Sleep Tracker for Positive User Reviews

Great App, Great Customer SupportThis app is really helpful for my needs. They have great customer support aswell!.Version: 1.185

Looks coolOnly been using this for a month but can already see the benefits :) I’ve been using Oura for almost two years now and it does not give as much insight into my energy levels as Rise. The interface is much simpler, the calendar integration is amazing, the sleep schedule suggestions and no caffeine/late meal notifications are quite useful. Might not be as much stats as Oura, but much more useful, applicable, hands on and easy to follow instructions. Haven’t used the meditations yet as I already have a different platform for that..Version: 1.322.0

Wooow!L’application est complète, bien développée et témoigne d’une importante innovation.Version: 1.345.0

Great AppI love the way it automatically tracks sleep and it’s easy to update the next day. Reminders for wind down time and when to stop caffeine are a winner. I like seeing at a glance when my best times are or when I’m due for a slump. Really helpful support team, responsive and supportive..Version: 1.316.0

Incredible, highly recommendedHiya, So I decided to write this after seeing some other reviews because I feel they made an injustice to this app in theirs. This actually cured my insomnia. The fact that it tells me when i should go to sleep helps me force myself to sleep. Plus i can now lie down and sleep when i see that it’s time to do so. I’m not even sure how it cured my insomnia but it did. Ive seen many reviews about bugs and pricing. I accidentally bought this after the trial for a year (£50) and so i forced myself to use it. During the trial i used it every day though so I wasnt too angry (ive used it everyday since too). All the bug claims havent happened to me, the app works fine and has always done so. The addition of an alarm clock would also be a life saver because apple’s is bad.. very. The way it works with the sleep bit in health means i cant make it so i have a lie in on saturdays and sundays. I always have to wake up and its so annoying (plus i think if i turn it off rise cant track my sleep thing in health). anyways its a great app, highly recommended.Version: 1.104

Love this app… but there’s only one flawI really enjoy tracking my data and even if I’m not following my plan it gives me the best idea of when I need to be trying to fall asleep or reminding me when I need to sleep. Along with knowing the peaks of energy I will have, which for the most part correlate with what I experience. The ambient noises are great and I use them a lot as well, weather it’s for sleeping or just reading a book. The one and only problem is that I want to pay a month subscription, not a full years subscription. Myself and I’m sure many other will use an app like this for some time before inevitably forgetting about the app and stop using it (ADHD gang). And as much as I hope that doesn’t happen, I’d rather not make a $60 purchase to then use it only 2 months and forgetting about it. If they would make it so I could pay a monthly fee, I’d prefer that significantly more. Until this feature is added, I won’t make this purchase despite how much I enjoy it as I’ve had this problem happen before. Otherwise, I’d be perfectly happy with giving Rise my money and would suggest it to anyone looking to improve their sleeping habits..Version: 1.282.0

Learning to use itI’m new to the app and still coming to terms with it’s features. I love the clear sleep deficit information and ideas about how to overcome this..Version: 1.307.0

Excellent AppExactly what I was looking for! RISE is the app we all didn’t know we needed. From calculating your sleep debt, to highlighting your energy levels throughout the day, RISE calculates your peak and dip times so you can use them in your day-to-day schedule. It also displays your melatonin window at night and shows you your morning grogginess window as well! It’ll notify you when you should dim the lights at night, and when you should ease into the morning with some natural sunlight. Overall, I’m very pleased with this app, it’s worth every penny and it works seamlessly with Apple Health, and all the data it collects from my ŌURA ring. I would definitely recommend giving RISE a try if you take your health and sleep seriously and would like to have a little bit more information about your energy levels..Version: 1.183

InvaluableHaving had sleep issue through COVID bad also wanting to know more about how I can improve my sleep I found this gem. I love the detail and how it gives you reminders for things such as using orange glasses for blue light, when your melatonin levels are highest so highlights your ideal bedtime window and it does so much more. The sleep debt and energy potential are so helpful to know through the day so you when you are at your most productive and when to take it easy and chose easier tasks to complete when I’m a ‘dip’. Th so you to the developers. My favourite app so far abs I’ve been using the App Store for many years 💕💕.Version: 1.1.06

Great app!As someone who has a lifetime of poor sleep this app seems like the perfect thing to really make a dent in turning it around. Having something to focus on during the day takes the pressure off just ‘going to sleep’ and makes me feel like I have so much more control over my sleep. I do feel like the trial was too short for me to pay a full years subscription, it does feel like a hefty sum, but should circumstances change I would turn to this app for sleep support because I truly believe it could actually make a huge difference..Version: 1.142

I like this app, but for the price, it could be better.I really enjoy this app, but I’m not convinced it’s worth the price. I cancelled before the automatic $60 one and signed up for the $36 one, which is sketchy to not have that as the default to be honest, because I don’t know if there is any difference. I use my Fitbit to track my sleep and just import the data, which works really well and eliminates some of the problems I saw other people were having. It really is quite a simple app though. My Fitbit is doing most of the heavy lifting and it just does the calculations. I wish it had more features like telling me my ideal wake up time (which it only does on the widget which is annoying) instead of an obscure “wake zone” that gives me no time reference. I’m finding myself using other apps to fill in the gaps that this one is missing like ideal wake up time, sleep quality, habit tracker, etc. If this app had all those things I could see it being worth $60 a year, but I feel even $36 is pushing it for what you get. My Fitbit subscription was $70 a year and does everything else except measure sleep debt. So it doesn’t really add up in my mind. That being said, I am happy I bought a subscription, I really like knowing my sleep debt, I just wish the app developers were more transparent with the pricing and that it had a couple more features..Version: 1.120

Great app and worth paying for!!I never normally leave reviews but I feel like this app is so underrated! Yes it’s a paid app but they offer a decent trial period to test all of the features and when I asked about a monthly subscription rather than yearly, they sent me a link to sign up for monthly as it was something they were trialling. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the monthly payment system but rather than tell me that yearly was my only option, they gave me 6 months free. Amazing service from the team which makes me more likely to recommend the app. It’s also done wonders for my sleeping pattern as someone with ADHD and a delayed sleep circadian rhythm - today I woke up at 5:50am wide awake with no alarm! One feature I’d love to see added is how to manage jet lag when moving across time zones. There doesn’t seem to be anything on the market for this and I feel it would be such a USP for the app on top of the ‘sleep debt’ function. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing how the app progresses!.Version: 1.283.0

Excellent appRISE has been so helpful in being able to really see the impact my sleep schedule has on my day. A lot less wondering “why do I feel so awful today?” - now I know why and I know how to fix it! I also really like getting to see when my energy levels will peak, and planning activities accordingly. I’m a Uni student, and we are not known for sleeping well, but RISE has me telling everyone goodnight at 11pm because I need to whittle down my sleep debt!.Version: 1.121

Best Optimization for Optimal PerformanceOne of the best apps I have ever came across to help syncing my energy levels in order to help me achieve optimal performance during all my activities.Version: 1.345.0

Way Better Than I Thought! Wow!I’m not the type of person to get hyped-up over apps that often, simply because there are so many of them on the App Store that provide false claims and don’t actually live-up to what they’re saying, however RISE is an exception. I genuinely mean it when I say this: it’s one of the best sleeping apps out there, and it’s very hard to beat it. You can track your sleeping habits; as well as what your energy looks like throughout the day (whether it’s dipping or at its peak), how many hours of sleep you should actually be getting, how much sleep debt you’ve collected (and what to do to get it back down to 0), etc. Let me tell you… When I first got the app, my Sleep Debt was a whopping 8 hours. After less than a week, this app took my sleep debt from 8 hours straight down to 0.8 — that’s almost back down to 0. And without this app, I wouldn’t have even known where to start. So that massive improvement in my personal sleeping habits is purely down to them and this app, and I couldn’t be more thankful. The customer service team are also phenomenal. They’re super kind and helpful, and I’m just genuinely flattered by their amazing service. If there’s one app you need to invest your time in, it’s this one. All the best! ❤️.Version: 1.269.0

Love! But..UPDATE: they were so helpful with a discounted price and Kyle helped me out a lot!! Loved the app as a student and it really helped me gain some balance back in my life for things I love doing and all of my studies! BUT you have to pay and it’s so much for a student :((( if you can afford it I think it’s an amazing investment but there are other things I need the money for unfortunately 😭.Version: 1.114

A Good but Expensive OptionI tried rise and thought it was the thing that I was looking for but after the free trial your charged monthly for it. I believe it’s overpriced, if it was lower I wouldn’t mind paying the membership fee but their are other apps that do the same thing with a cheaper subscription or even without one..Version: 1.131

Best Sleep App Out ThereI have sleep problems. Not in the way of insomnia or narcolepsy (though that may be crusted within somewhere). No, I have sleep problems in a way that leaves something missing. Like some lost friend, but a more successful friend. Like and old pet, but one that was let loose in the wild. Sleep is deeply missing in my soul. Sure, it sounds melancholy, and it is. It is introspective and mysteriously present at times of exhaustion and mirth. It is freezing cold and empty in its ever-presence. The cure, I believe, is this easy prescription: a regular bedtime, blue light glasses, and making steep down payments on sleep debt. Same mattress, same sheets, and same room. The Rise - Sleep app is where those not quite forgotten can find deep sleep again, and reconcile with the root cause of their sleep issues. My deep slumber comes from laying quietly, emptying the contents of my mind, and waiting for a calmness to fill that space. This is the necessity I require shovelled into the hole left from tempurpedics, sleep numbers, massage pillows, and temperature controls. All fine distractions, sure, but the Rise- sleep app? It’s family. A place where restless sleep dissipates, and you realize your dream slumber was there all along. You just wanted an app frill-less and present, where science rules over sparkle and shine. Where everyone can come to learn they’re just a few habit shifts away from a new life. There’s a million like it, but none the same. The best for your rest. A fiesta of siesta. A nose for your doze. Close the gap to your nap with the Rise sleep app..Version: 1.14

AmazingI saw and add, and thought why not. Never thinking it would be this useful. You do have to pay $7 a month but you get a week free trial. You will fall in love..Version: 1.334.0

Amazing tracker for people WITHOUT A WATCH !I used this for a week the entire time of my free trial an I absolutely loved it ! I don’t have any sort of health watch an this app turned my phone into a motion censored tracker an was 97% dead on accurate . Anytime it sensed my motion from me touching my phone or moving around it it would log I was awake which is correct because I hang my phone at head height on a stand right next to my face at night . I’m super impressed with this app an I so so badly want to keep using it ! But they do not offer any lower monthly or weekly rates to pay for it . Yes I could spend $36 an I could spend the $60 but I’m on a tight budget an that’s my only complaint so far without being able to use it long term is people who want to keep using it but may not have the money to pay those high rates. If you lowered rates to weekly bi weekly or something for all us who can’t afford these expensive monthly yearly subscriptions you’d likely have even mire people using this app ! Otherwise I thought it was the best out there for anyone without a WATCH ! It really started teaching me a lot someone who has never tracked sleep or been very mindful of all other daily health routine things ..Version: 1.129

Great app but pls help/fixLove the app, it has helped immensely in improving my sleep habits and reducing sleep debt. However, I am quite annoyed that It is taking over my calendar with up to 20 notifications a day despite disabling its calendar access in settings and on the app. This renders my Calendar obsolete, a tool I heavily rely on, and as a result I have missed drs appt and other events due to the spam of notifications from rise. Pls help me to resolve this..Version: 1.270.0

Slick. Insightful. This is my second sleep app and its already way better in terms of the data points, the information products and a slick interface. Just completed the one week trial - and just loved the insights I have been getting on my sleep. Recommend!.Version: 1.211

Love this app and the team behind it!I trialed a lot of apps before settling on this one. Not only does it give me the information I’m looking for in regards to my energy levels, but it also suggests times for various activities based on my dips and lows. And it puts them into my calendar app for me! I love that. The app also has a great Tools feature that contains a good selection of resources you can use and learn from, which is where I learned about the amber and red blue light glasses (totally went down a rabbit whole thete!). But my favorite thing is the customer service. I had an issue logging on to the app and Christian worked with me until it was resolved. He always kept me informed about the status, so I felt like he really cared about helping me as one human to another (vs a bot that never quite gives you an answer). I truly love this app and recommended it to a few friends and family already!.Version: 1.334.0

Useful! This app has literally changed my life. I haven’t been able to sync to Google Calendar, and I wish that it would allow for a bimodal sleep pattern, but those are minor things for me..Version: 1.304.0

Needs ImprovementI like the concept of this app a lot. The energy schedule is incredibly helpful and knowing my sleep debt gives me a lot of insight on my habits. However, there are some frustrating flaws that I feel the app should not have given the amount of money I’m spending to use it. It only syncs to my Apple Watch maybe half the time, the other half I have to input the data myself and it’s not as accurate as it is if imported from my watch. I use Pillow in conjunction to Rise and there really shouldn’t be an issue importing the data from Pillow but for some reason Rise really struggles with it. The other annoying flaw is that I have it set to text me before my melatonin window and in the week and a half I’ve had the app I’ve only received one text. I could set an alarm myself but again, it’s supposed to be a feature of the app so I shouldn’t have to. If the developers fixed these flaws I think it could be a really amazing app but as it stands it needs some improvement..Version: 1.93

Updated reviewYesterday I posted a 1 star review due to the confusion of adapting to this app. It took me several hours to get a grasp on how it works and how to navigate it. The tutorials and format is not very user friendly IMO. However, after figuring out (through trial and error - never found a help page) on how to correct auto logging errors within the app, I’ve begun to understand how it works. The main confusion for me was that I thought this was a method to plan and control your sleep. But, it’s more of a sleep log that adapts to your actual sleep schedule. As a long time sufferer of sleep problems from PTSD, I rarely come across new info that I haven’t read before. The science here is extremely conservative, taking melatonin 4 hours before bed and avoiding caffeine 10 hours before. This is a big change that I may try to integrate, although I’m not sure if it’s very practical for me personally, given my mental health and severe sleep issues. The good thing is that these are optional, so it may take some time to adapt how I use this app. So far, once locating the routines, figuring out how to edit logs, and finding the scientific explanations within the app, this does seem quite useful to help with sleep problems. I only wish that the intro had been more comprehensive with more tutorials available to start..Version: 1.235

Extremely innovative, but no response from supportThis app is incredible, but waiting days and still no response from support. I had an important question I need help with, and a deciding factor regarding continuing after the trial, as it is an expensive app. Wish it was more affordable. I have been waiting since 11th March to hear from you, so thought I would check in with you and also include my main question:- I wake up to pray at 4am or thereabouts at the moment, sometimes near to sunrise. I like to return to sleep, especially if it’s 4am. Do I record it was nights sleep with interruptions on your app (which seem to record it as unable to sleep, but still in bed - which I’m not). Or do I record waking up at 4am and the time I sleep - record as naps? Obviously it changes the whole days timing, so it’s important I get this right. It changes the groggy times and if I sleep into the peaks, I’ll be more groggy. What’s best? Thank you. Kind regards,.Version: 1.104

Amazing app! Even better support team!Firstly, this app is absolutely amazing for tracking your sleep when you don’t have access to a smartwatch or a sleep tracking device. The information that it provides you on how to structure your day is genuinely life-changing, my quality of life has improved a LOT due to this app. However, the true highlight of my experience with rise has been dealing with the support/developer team. Due to my current circumstances, I cannot afford rise. The team was kind enough to give me a 6 month subscription on the house! Overall amazing app and even better support team..Version: 1.211

Great app but please offer monthly subscription optionI love the app, particularly useful for tracking sleep/waking at night, but I wish there was an option for a monthly subscription - I paid the $5.99 for a 1 month trial, and came on looking to buy another month, but the only option for $85 for a year is too big of a commitment to justify. Would be great if there was an option for a monthly subscription (like $7 or $8) as I was finding it really interesting to see my sleep patterns over a few weeks and would have liked to use it for a few more months at least to see if I could improve my insomnia and increase my energy levels. The slow alarm is a great feature too..Version: 1.246

Great app, could use some additional featuresSo far, I really like this app. For the first time, I actually feel real motivation to get more sleep on a regular basis because I want to see my sleep debt go down! The information about energy peaks and dips and melatonin windows is also extremely helpful and very accurate so far. I only wish that there was a way to add naps to lower sleep debt. The pop up windows are constantly suggesting taking naps during energy dips, yet I couldn’t find a way to add a nap to my sleep total. I was really hopeful that adding a nap would lower my sleep debt, but maybe science suggests it doesn’t work that way, so they didn’t include that option? Idk, but I sure wish they did, or at the very least included some information about the science of naps if they have some reason not to add this feature. Update: now that I know how to add naps, my main concern with the app has been resolved, and I will fully endorse it with 5/5 stars. Its design motivates me to get more sleep, which is exactly what I was needing..Version: 1.73

Great concept but lacking basic data retention and accessI’ll start by saying that I’m aware of the primary premise of the trailing two-weeks being the most relevant timeframe to determine current energy levels. I’ve been using this app for about 18 months and have found it to be really useful in predicting my daily energy experience. That said, I’m also interested in much longer horizon trend analysis. Given this desire, it strikes me as odd that there isn’t an ability to see how you’ve improved your sleep habits over an extended timeframe (eg, months to years). As far as I can tell, the only mechanism like this is the streak counter which tracks the number of consecutive days with “great” energy levels, but this is a poor instrument of what I’m aiming to measure. To be clear, I’m not suggesting that there needs to be a change to the UI abstraction, only the ability to export full history of all data. Any sleep app which costs a fee to use should have robust analytics and historical trend analysis with the ability to export CSVs of all historical data from within the app. In particular in interested in using my raw data from Rise Sleep to perform statistical analyses such as studying weight, heart rate, steps, etc. as an f(x) w/r/t trends in total sleep, sleep debt, energy schedule, and other Rise Sleep data points which are not visible beyond 2 weeks..Version: 1.285.0

It needs a free versionIt’s the best sleep app I’ve ever seen but it does need a free version because it’s just for one purpose which is sleep and it’s good but it would be nice for people with disposable income but this is a luxury which isn’t that useful so I’d recommend only for people with actual troubles with sleep and people with a slight sleep gap..Version: 1.281.0

Addictive, but wish for moreI like checking how high my sleep debt is (or how low) and how my circadian rhythm is doing, and it feels validating at the end of a day to realize that’s why I was so tired for that period of time. I have to work thru it anyway, so it doesn’t alter my schedule to know it ahead of time, but the app provides that info and that’s nice too. I do wish they had more personalized lists for personal time in the morning, u just got to pick from their options, and some are repetitive. (A walk is exercise for example) but the brain dump at night is useful. And if they personalized it further, like gave u suggestions for parents with school age children, (after all those parents are notorious for needing more sleep, so it’s a pretty great market) how to organize that wake up time as u don’t get to pick when you have to focus. After months of having this app there are a few wishes. I wish they would get rid of the autogenic training, which is creepy in my opinion and when they have the diaphragmic breathing session, I can barely hear her voice and so it’s not as relaxing as it could be, straining to hear the training above the music is not great, I could have just stuck with soothing sounds. I like what she says, just needs softer music and louder voice for that sessions. Another improvement I would like to see is if u choose one soothing sound at night, if the app could keep it at that for default without changing it back to the music one. That would feel way more simple. All in all tho, glad I got it to try for a year. It’s made me much more aware of my sleeping habits..Version: 1.334.0

Great app, found it very usefulI’ve got a 7 months old who’s teething, plus a bunch of things to sort out during the day so being able to gauge my peak levels has been life changing. A great exercise of mindfulness I found. There’s a whole bunch of great content as well, the app is generally quite minimal which is great for someone who doesn’t have time to navigate through too much detail. I would love to carry on using it, unfortunately it’s too pricey for the time being. Will likely come back after my maternity leave..Version: 1.104

Overall brilliant, some minor bugsVery cool app that tracks your energy level! Compared to all other apps I’ve used, this is by far the most accurate and well designed. There are some bugs tho, such as the notification sometimes not working mentioned in the other comments. But the most annoying one is that the app becomes kinda dodgy after 12am midnight, with widget not working, notification being sent that’s supposed to be for the next morning, energy page taking minutes to load etc. Overall though very good app. For those complaining about being charged after the trial - that’s how App Store works and it’s not hard at all to cancel your trial before being charged..Version: 1.178

Essential app for modern lifeSleep is so important. I know this! But I always struggle to get enough of it. Rise is helping me to get better. I felt the improvement after just a week. I love the science behind it and how it’s presented in a friendly and non-judgemental way. The UI is nice but can feel a little jumbled - and it would be great to see your Smart Bedtime in a more prominent place. But I love the notifications and the thought that’s gone into producing the Watch app and Widgets - so essential and so often overlooked in some apps. There’s no better way to feel good than getting the right amount of sleep, and Rise will help you achieve that. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.293.0

What a great appI was skeptical at first. But it has really helped fixing up sleep patterns and understanding where peaks and slums in my day were. But also how you can play your day using this information. I use this in conjunction with sleep cycle/watch data. I like that it warns you when not to have any further caffeine and and be able to link in with a partner. Customer service has been great when questions were needing to be addressed too. Give it a try. There’s nothing to lose. And for what you pay for the year, it’s really rather great value..Version: 1.246

Game changerThis is the first review I have provided despite being a faithful iPhone user for 10 years. The Rise app deserves acknowledgement for what it can bring to your life. I am a woman in my 30s diagnosed with narcolepsy two years ago. While my medication, diet and exercise are all helpful this app is really what ties it all together. My favorite feature is being able to look at my energy peaks for the day and plan tough work projects or errands during those times. I absolutely never go out for long errands during low energy dips but may plan for some exercise to boost my energy during that time. I have even planned scheduled naps with this app. I have told neurologist about this app and recommended it to many people with sleep disorders I can imagine it would make just as much as an impact with someone without a sleeping disorder. This app has become an essential.Version: 1.279.0

So coolYou learn so much about sleep, only my first few days of having it and I love it. I wish I could pay the subscription weekly instead of yearly tho..Version: 1.337.0

Fab app made by sleep smart developers!!I really love the thought behind this app and think the design and ease of it is fab and informative. I’ve been using the widget and I like the little screenshot of what’s coming up with peaks and dips etc. I’ve really enjoyed the 7 day trial, but as a student, paying a one off fee of £50 is sadly a little too steep for me. I understand the developers and business need to make money but it’s a shame that a monthly option isn’t available or perhaps a more basic format that’s a bit cheaper? Sad to see this app go :(.Version: 1.104

Fantastic app but I feel it’s too expensiveAfter trying many sleep apps this one comes out on top the layout is fantastic and the information about the way I sleep really changes my productivity during the day. Unfortunately with many other apps charging subscriptions too I find it difficult to afford this cost. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to improve the way they live and sleep. The developers have done a great job with this however it’s only four stars due to cost. Perhaps you could add a monthly plan which would be more affordable?.Version: 1.104

AmazingI saw an add about this and figured to check it out because it was true I literally saw the ad at 2am. The layout is amazing, I really liked the part at the start where it showed you everything in such a simple fashion I haven’t bought the subscription but I’ll see if I can because this app is amazing. I rated it 4 starts because the monthly subscription but honestly I understand why it’s there. This is such a high quality app and I reckon it will actually help me out..Version: 1.110

Incredible PerformanceHow this app doesn’t have a 5.0 star rating is beyond me. I was waking at 4:00 a.m. to get more done but the truth was by 11:00 a.m. I was beyond exhausted and tried to ride caffeine all day to keep me going but I wasn’t focused. I was laying in bed from 10 p.m. until midnight on social media to relax myself to get to sleep. Hours wasted pointlessly and only getting four hours or so a night of sleep. I downloaded this app a few days ago and already feel better. I had over 17 hours sleep debt and it said my all day energy level was only 20%!!!! Today, in a couple of days, I’m down to 11.9 sleep debt already and at 41%! I’ll get this down to zero sleep debt and I assume it will say 100% energy. Not sure but I think this is where it’s heading. If it wasn’t for this app, I would still be struggling and I think this app will be the reason I live longer! I’ll be 50 in November, only a few months from now!.Version: 1.307.0

The perfect app I’ve been looking forI fell in love with this app. My sleep has been very irregular, productivity at an all time low, and my energy non existent. This app is helping me understand my sleep, and make better choices in the evening. The habits function is fantastic and really helpful. They notify me at critical moments where I can stop and think about my day, how I’m going to prepare for sleep and the right times to wind down and then prepare for bed. The app is so beautiful to use and really intuitive. Definitely worth five stars..Version: 1.129

It’s amazing, but..I really like this app. It’s really helping me stop blaming myself when I reach energy dips through the day, and helping me work with my body to be the most productive and happy I can be. However, the UX design of this app could definitely be improved. For starters, I wish there were a flow for an alarm or at least telling the app that you’re going to sleep. Additionally, the buttons at the bottom aren’t super user friendly — it’s hard to understand what each screen does for me. Finally, the learning page is just a big waste of valuable design space. This app is need of a better “get started” flow, but at the same time if the design were improved then you wouldn’t need it..Version: 1.166

Love this app! When I first saw this app I was a bit skeptical about how it could really work but was feeling generally fatigued and struggled to wake up in the morning so decided to give a try. Seriously this app is amazing! I’ve not been using the app long but I don’t think I could go back to not having it. I used to struggle to fall asleep at night but I use the energy tracker to make sure I’m doing things at my peaks which means that when I should be going to bed I’m tired enough to fall asleep and I feel much more ready to wake up in the morning. It’s made me more productive which is also super satisfying. A really good creation!!.Version: 1.224

Love it!I have used rise on and off for quite a while now and I absolutely love it! It really helps me get my sleep back on track and I find the sleep debt quite motivating to get down which works for me. It helps me understand my sleep and energy levels more as well. The only downside is the subscription. I’m happy to pay and happy with the cost but I would prefer to pay monthly as although I would be happy to commit to using it for a year as I love it and check it everyday, I just don’t have the money right now to pay that upfront. I did email them, as reccomended on their FAQ and explained that and I got a lovely response and a complimentary 6 month trial which is not what I expected! So they definitely deserve 5 stars and I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to pay the annual subscription by then Well worth it!.Version: 1.295.0

Great app - enables practical behaviour changeReally effective app that takes the science on circadian rhythms and enables you to put into practice. For somebody doing a really busy office job the way it drops your energy peaks and dips into your calendar is really really useful. In addition it has helpful hacks “energy boosts” to counteract the dips - you can schedule a walk, a work out etc to address the lunchtime lag. At the same time it syncs with my Garmin and tracks my sleep debt. This is brilliantly useful as it is quickly shows how you sent escalates when you back to work. I used in the Xmas holidays as had zero debt and 100% energy but two weeks into work the app has enabled me to see how quickly I have gone off track and how big my sleep debt is. This then enables you to address - the critical element to realising a new year resolution to get more sleep and feel more energetic!!!.Version: 1.249.0

Rise is awesomeLoving that I’m tracking sleep.Version: 1.246

Great app butIt’s a great app and it records my sleep almost to the second as it should, you have to log your naps but that’s not a issue for me, HOWEVER, if you work night shifts you can’t log proper the sleep you have gotten, sometimes I work from 10pm-8am and trying to log the sleep I have after, logs it on the day before (before the night shift) so I have to skip day basically to log sleep and I can’t log accurately the sleep i have gotten due to a night shift so my sleep debt is wrong for a few days, there should be a option for night shift on the app because a lot of people do work nights these days.Version: 1.293.0

Great customer service!Fantastic app, had helped me improve my sleeping habits surprisingly fast!! I struggle with getting a good night of sleep quite a lot and getting non restorative sleep this app is such a beautiful design and also really helps! Simple has everything you need and nothing over complicating it, I have recommend it to a number of people already and they have also downloaded. Not gonna lie I was a little jealous when they had a low sleep debt and mine started at 21hours! But in 2 days it went down to 13 and kept dropping! So the app works! I’m just competitive and jealous of other people sleeping healthy unlike me I guess! Their customer service team is great and extremely responsive, I reached out with a issue with getting in the app, and they responded in minutes and fixed it quickly and kindly 10/10 highly recommend.Version: 1.67

Making a differentI thought I was Ok monitoring my sleep but I had been underestimating how much I need! Getting more sleep is making a difference. Understanding about my cycles of energy has been eye opening too. I now can factor in activities based on my dips and peaks of energy.Version: 1.224

Superb AppIt’s not often I write a positive review for an app, but I must place on record I’m surprised by how useful the app has been. Before using the app I had little insight of the fact I was consistently racking up 1-2 hours of sleep debt per day, and clearing + minimising this has done wonders. I first downloaded on 21st of March and as of the end of March / April I’ve just had the most energetic and productive week in a very long time. App appears to be relatively accurate based on the iPhone alone, although it does need minor tweaks to schedules especially if you check phone and snooze, but we can live with this it’s not a problem. One feature request which I would like to see is sleep credit. Too much sleep is as bad as not enough and today I slept for an hour longer than required but the sleep debt stayed at zero. This would be a great feature to see to ensure sleep debt or credit is maintained at the optimal range of zero!.Version: 1.177

Great app for optimising sleepSleep was always really difficult for me and I’m someone that likes to track things religiously. Rise helped me improve my sleep quality and effortlessly track my sleep without having to lift a finger. It’s nice being able to view your energy levels and your sleeping patterns in the app..Version: 1.288.0

RiseVery interesting. I’ll reserve judgement to see how my early waking time occurs..Version: 1.341.0

Great sleep and energy tracking appAs someone who has recently been diagnosed with ADHD, tracking sleep and energy levels throughout the day assists me to be more productive. Rise not only helps me track my sleep but adjusts notification times throughout the day to remind me when I’m likely to have peaks and dips in energy based on my sleep. A great app!.Version: 1.315.0

Awesome App and Customer Service!I have ADHD and really struggle with managing my sleep. My health has started to decline because I cannot wrap my head around it. Rise really helped me visualize how much sleep I was getting and how it was affecting me. When I couldn’t afford the yearly subscription, I emailed their support team and they gave me an extra three months free. They were super helpful!.Version: 1.325.0

Knowledge and awareness bring clarity!I doubt I’m using Rise to its full potential, and yet the simple knowledge of understanding my peaks and dips throughout the day has firstly helped me not to be so hard I’m myself when I’m feeling a bit less energetic …. Secondly to know when best to schedule tasks etc in! Adding alerts to my calendar has really helped. I also find the sleep debt concept really empowering. It has made me aware of the effect sleep (or lack of) has on my overall well being..Version: 1.186

Too expensive/ No pay monthly optionI liked it, I found it interesting that we had two peaks in the day- didn’t know that before. But for something that is a basic app in that it does one thing and also relied on my Fitbit to give it accurate sleep data to base its calculations off of I just can’t justify the cost of it. If it was pay monthly I would probably subscribe on and off when I got hit by insomnia to help me limp through it, but in a world of EVERYTHING demanding subscriptions these days (which I’m frankly sick of) it’s one more thing I’m not willing to shell out for and keep tabs on. Sorry.Version: 1.160

Changing my lifeI’ve only been using Rise for a week or so, so far, but it is literally changing my life. I’ve always struggled with insomnia and troubles getting up in the morning. I’ve been a self described night owl my entire life. I found this app shortly after I got my Apple Watch series 6 and was looking for something to analyze my sleep data. It has made a world of difference. I plan my day around my energy schedule and follow the tips for better sleep. I’m waking up and falling asleep on my own, which is a miracle for me in and of itself, but I’m waking up before 9 am, usually before 8 am, without an alarm! It helps me figure out when to do my heavyweight chores and when my energy is going to be too low for much. I struggle with chronic illness, pain, and fatigue, so having this information is proving invaluable to balancing my day and keeping within my limits. I haven’t needed any of the premium features but I am tempted to get it anyway, just to support this amazing app..Version: 1.112

Rise gives sleep and energy insight that no other app does well!I like how Rise gives insight into your energy levels, circadian rhythm, and sleep inertia/debt . The only things I would change are the disincentive/expensive renewal surprise, better widget glance for sleep debt/ hours and where you are on circadian rhythm, and better integration with other sleep and exercise apps to track energy levels vs naps and exercise activity. Tips could be more personalized to show how improvements in behavior can make small incentive/percentage gains both in potential and actual improvement changes so people can easily tune into significant behavior. I also have sleep apnea, narcolepsy type 2, and Idiopathic Hypersomnia (IH) and would love to be able to compare how these behaviors compare and can be improved versus others who have the same issues/tags. It would be neat to also extend the Circassian rhythm graph into sleep rhythms and interruptions to highlight behavior such as insomnia, night waking due to temp, or patterns, maybe even correlate allergy interruptions with allergy apps. Rise is awesome and is so close to being even better..Version: 1.134

Unique, Beneficial AppI’ve only been using this app a couple of days, but I’ve really enjoyed it so far. It has a much different concept then most sleep apps, which barely provide more data than what iWatch users can find in Health. I love seeing my peaks & dips. It’s comforting to see that the dips end. With this knowledge, I can decide when my ideal times for certain activities are instead of expecting my energy level to be constant throughout the day. Along with that praise, there are some features I would like to see added: 1) Let users select a goal bedtime or wake up fine. Then, using when we are currently going to bed & waking up, help us gradually progress to getting to sleep earlier & earlier till we hit our goal bedtime. 2) Let users add their own activities to the habit. A relaxing activity for me would be cross stitching - something I would never expect to see as an option, but I would love the ability to enter it in myself. 3) In the morning, ask if we kept our habits or not. Even as simple as “did you stop caffeine at X time” or “did you eat your last meal by X time.” Then, help us identify patterns between these habits & our sleep quality. Of course, being able to actually input time of last caffeine & meal would be great..Version: 1.116

Great app!For most people, how do sleep stages really affect you? I’m guessing they don’t, this app cuts all that out. Rather it focuses on the amount of sleep and “sleep hygiene.” Giving you the necessary tools and information to get your sleep under control and be a better person..Version: 1.271.0

This app changed my lifeMid-30’s working professional here - I’ve been seeing doctor after doctor over and over and over again for my sleep issues for almost my whole life. Doctors from some of the best institutions in the US. They all approached the problem in the same manner, never really caring and sending me on my way with some medication, which always failed. I completely lost faith in the entire medical system and started to think that I was one of those people who just couldn’t sleep through a night or in any consistency whatsoever. If any one of those doctors would have told me that the ONLY thing that really matters is an extremely consistent sleep schedule, it would have spared me a lot of pain, frustration, and money. This app is incredible. I am sleeping better than at any point in my life. I will use this app for the rest of my life. My only suggestion is to give prospective customers a free trial for a month. I almost didn’t bother with this app because it is sort of expensive. And there are a million apps like this that promise all the things. There is no way anyone is going to understand the impact of this app in a few day trial run. No one wants to waste money for something that is going to be deleted from the phone. If the product team really wants new customers, I would say to change the initial approach..Version: 1.323.0

Amazing customer service and great appI had trouble with getting a refund. The developer responded to me within a few hours and guided me to get the money back. They really care for their customers and the app overall is amazing i loved the interface and it does help you in improving your sleep and helps in being productive throughout out the day. Should definitely give it a try!.Version: 1.290.0

Definitely good app but….Hello! Listen, the app is actually great it gives helpful information and it can really be a very very useful tool especially for me a high school student getting stressed and stuff. But, this isn’t it… yearly subscriptions ain’t it… because really I need to try it for a month or two to see if I wanna continue, this isn’t fair and acceptable, please please add monthly subscriptions… Kind regards.Version: 1.119

Worth it if you have a crazy sleep scheduleI have been sleeping at crazy times since the start of this year, and Rise helped me manage my sleeplessness with the melatonin window, and the sleep tracker. At first it seems like the app is really complicated, but after getting used to it, the UI is pretty simple. The only problem I have is with the aggressive marketing which ropes you in for a WHOLE YEAR’S worth of payment. But if the app keeps getting updates and new features then I think it’s a great tool for managing sleep..Version: 1.98

Shift workThus far I’ve found it very educational and has helped improve my sleep! However, I wish there was a way for the app to accommodate for Shift work. I work alternating day shift and night shift and wish there could be a way to measure and account for that in the app, as well as include that in the adjustable alarms. Otherwise it has been a great experience!.Version: 1.301.0

Not functioning, no support to be foundUpdate: I was able to get in touch with someone who quickly helped me resolve my issue, which was minor and now the app seems to be working beautifully! Shout out to Oddie for the customer service experience I was hoping for! I downloaded the week trial and setup my information without issue. The next day I couldn’t get past a screen telling me it needed permissions from Apple Health, which were already enabled. No amount of turning off/on permissions, deleting/reinstalling the app helped. Reached out to support and am still waiting for any type of response, over 24 hours later. I really want to like this app, and I’m willing to pay for it, but not if it won’t function the way it should and certainly not if support is nowhere to be found. I will update this should anything be resolved..Version: 1.65

Amazing customer service and great appAs a student I didn’t exactly have the $89 for the yearly subscription however after an email to the team detailing my situation and recent health diagnosis and how the app has helped me they were more than happy to help me out. It’s a great app that lets me know when I’m at my very best and helps me plan my days.Version: 1.183

Helping you get energy backFor the past several years, I always tried to get 8 hours of sleep, but still felt tired. When I started using Rise and tracking my sleep, I found out that it was more like 6.5 hours (noise, light and other factors can cause you to wake up during the night) and I optimally needed 8.5! Rise also showed me that I have a 12+ hour sleep deficit just in the past two weeks alone. Over the past seven days, it has been helping me find the best bedtime by calculating the natural window when the body produces melatonin and showing me the times during the day when I should be most active and when I need to rest. My sleep debt is now half, around 6 hours, and getting smaller every day thanks to this. I really really recommend it. It's very hard to maintain a balanced daily sleep routine with everything that's going on, but this is an amazing reference and guide, using technology and insightful research to help you slow down and get the rest you need. I would suggest setting a smart alarm to get the recommended hours if you can, and every day Rise will let you know when to go to sleep to lower your sleep debt. A huge thank you to the Rise team for putting this tool together, you're making a real difference!!! 😴☁️🧸🌟.Version: 1.167

A whole new appreciation for sleep and scienceA few weeks ago I stumbled across rise. I have been using another sleep tracking app for years but it’s become more of an alarm with some data. As soon as I joined rise it used all of my sleep data to calculate how much sleep I need which takes into account when you have “rebound” sleep. You know those lazy sundays you finally let you body catch up!! I started with over 12 hours of sleep debt in the past two weeks, with a suggested bed time and “rise” wake up time I went to work on getting my sleep debt down, a few weeks better I can already feel much a difference in my day to day life like I’m no longer running on empty! Also learning about the body’s natural circadian rhythm during the day and how to align daily tasks to make the most out of your day. A great app to have in your toolbox to make the most out of your day and understand your unique sleep needs and to keep on top of them to feel your best!!.Version: 1.114

Love the UI!On-boarding experience is very informative but not overwhelming and user experience throughout the app is optimal!.Version: 1.343.0

Really glad I found it!I am usually very aware of my needs and my body, but this app has given me a real idea of how much rest my body actually needs so it can restore properly. I suffered from tiredness for years and I always thought that I needed 7 or 8 hours of sleep per night, but it turned out I actually need 9 hours of sleep every night. I rarely have the chance to sleep for 9 hours as I am a new mom, but as soon as I do I can see the difference! Best spent money for a subscription for a long time!.Version: 1.166

Needs a 2x4 widget for Smart StackJust started using this app and my first impression was “WOW”. This is one of the most beautiful and well designed apps I have ever seen in all my years of using a smart phone. Kudos to the UX team. Truly amazing. The data seems accurate and provides lots of learnings, tips, reminders and insight. Really looking forward to learning more about my sleep over the next few days. As a sleep deprived parent, this is very important. The price is definitely steep and that might be a turn off to some people. I was glad to see a discount when I signed up again as it makes it a lot simpler to justify the expense once the trial period is over. One thing that I will request from the developers is a bigger widget. Only a 2x2 widget is available and this app could certainly use a 2x4 widget that can integrate with the SmartStack..Version: 1.131

RiseCool asf.Version: 1.308.0

Love this app!!I absolutely love this app! I was experiencing very low energy and using this app for 10 days, I can feel the difference. I made the changes suggested on the app and can really feel an improvement..Version: 1.273.0

Actually useful. So I’ve been using rise for a week and I’m not gonna lie to you I’ve already seen an improvement in my sleep, it’s like £40 a year or something like that (might be £50 can’t be bothered to check) it’s not £40 a month like what one of the other reviews said, anyway back to the app, I don’t rly use the sleep quality section but the energy levels section actually feels quite accurate and I believe the science behind the sleep debt bit even tho I was a bit skeptical before doing research, overall quite a good app and is actually useful..Version: 1.109

Great appI really like this app, I’ve not experienced any of the bugs some other users have and I’ve found it really useful. There’s a lot of info, both about sleep in general and my sleep patterns in particular and that really appeals to my inner geek. Like others I think a pay monthly option would be great - £50 is a lot to find in one go for some people, especially at the moment, but that’s my only gripe. Thank you for a useful little app!.Version: 1.109

Surprisingly Effective Sleep AppI have tried so many sleep apps, but this one is truly unique. The sleep debt tracker and energy schedule are revolutionary. It’s exciting and motivating to see a quantifiable representation of my sleep debt going down as I improve my habits, and the energy tracker has helped increase my productivity significantly, since I’m now able to plan the right kind of work for the right time of day (why have in never thought of this before?). After a lifetime of struggling to manage sleep and energy well, this app is a game changer. If you’re not sure about the app, I’d encourage you to at least check out some of their content online: that’s what convinced me to try the app. I’ve read countless articles about sleep over the years, but very few have been as valuable as the ones that I’ve read from Rise (pretty surprising for free content). Trust me, it’s worth taking a few minutes to see for yourself. Best of luck, and sweet dreams!.Version: 1.219

Very accurateI get notifications from my calendar and I get sent energy alerts like four times a day. At first I hated it, but now it’s nice knowing my pattern and gives me an explanation as to how I’m feeling throughout the day. All the ‘energy dips’ it sends me are spot on and same with the melatonin window!!.Version: 1.311.0

Love itActually real love this app, so, had purchased premium, the only thing I would say is if on the watch app there was an option to start recording sleep, I have to use another app for this as without this it doesn’t record correctly when I sleep or wake up in the night.Version: 1.278.0

The best app for Sleep Health and well-being...ever.That may seem like a very bold statement to make in a segment where there are so many different apps available and such a wide variety of features specific to some and ignored by many of the others in the category. RISE is, far and away, the most useful app I've ever subscribed to and the features and resources it provides its users is beyond incredible. RISE not only offers you the typical "you slept this long, with this much in deep sleep, and such as." RISE offers all of that information and makes it diesel. Not only does it monitor the basics but it also uses the data it collects from you and your health apps to paint the most accurate picture possible of your sleep health, how it is likely to impact your day, then providing windows during the day when RISE has determined, based on the information you've provided to it, when you'll have that mid morning or mid afternoon slump or when you're likely to get your second wind. The RISE app provides you with so much more information than I can share in this review but I can say it helps you understand...you...and your health and the connections with it that first show you a small glimpse of where you are with both sleep and it's overall impact on your health and mind space, and then it guides you step by step and, unbelievably, without being intrusive and overwhelming. Best possible product and therefore my highest possible review..Version: 1.204

Really goodI’d like to try the app for a longer period of time for spending money.Version: 1.118

One of the better onesI have used a lot of sleep aps, and ver very often I forget to turn them on in the evening… this one hanging auto detect is super helpful… at least I get the bare min data.. and the data is much better than what ever apple health detects…. However- it invariably needs tweaking first thing in the morning when I wake up … at least movement bars make that easy, to slide awake time to the more accurate time. I’d like to see the ap use movement AND noise, And I’d like the ap to save data for longer than 2 weeks… I value longitudinal data… why am I paying so much, when you don’t even store the data. I can’t get the ap to write data to apple heath ap either. (Other aps do this automatically)… oh! Also… “sleep need” there’s no info really on how this is actually calculated, how often it changes, why it changed,or even THAT it changed… especially when you manually change it yourself- it still seems to be updating in the background… (maybe include both- my estimation and the aps)…eg, if I have 2 weeks of terrible terrible sleep, due to stress, of constantly 5hrs with no “rebound sleeps” … does the ap adjust my sleep need down? Plus I find the sleep debt added doesn’t reflect my adjusted time or the one estimated in the ap. ;and again.. no idea how it’s calculated.. is the rebound sleep amount the one ap uses? Or is it all averaged? After a rebound sleep?.Version: 1.289.0

Cool app, but a bit glitchyI tried the free trial of this app and found it so good that I purchased a 1 year subscription despite it being pretty expensive. I’ve found it so helpful to track my sleep debt and have definitely noticed an increase in productivity when working with the suggested energy peaks. The only downsides I’ve noticed (which admittedly are a bit annoying) is that the widget doesn’t seem to refresh regularly, the notifications don’t come up like regular notifications, and whenever I open the app or move to another screen and go back, it takes a while to recalculate all my energy peaks, even if it only just calculated them already. Overall a good purchase, but some improvements could be made to the app to make it more enjoyable to use..Version: 1.116

Amazing App, Excellent Customer ServiceThis app is the best on the market for developing a functional sleep schedule, learning more about how your energy is affected by sleep and starting more efficient, healthier routines. You get a full week trial before a subscription is mentioned, and their customer service is amazing. Absolutely would reccomend.Version: 1.109

Some technical errors but practically fantasticRise has really helped me pull my sleeping schedule back into line and help me understand when to be productive and when to rest. I have a hard time switching off so this app is perfect for me. Only complaint is that there are some glitches that reduce the functionality of the app. If the glitches are fixed, I would definitely buy a subscription.Version: 1.114

Great app, but please fix the widget!Loving the app, however the widget and notifications are buggy. The widget will sometimes get stuck “loading data”, and after the morning peak it will consider the rest of the day a “winding down period”, completely ignoring the afternoon dip/peaks. It’s a shame since this app is extremely useful. It would be nice for the widget to actually work on my Home Screen!.Version: 1.112

Great App, needs an alarm!Been using this app for the last week and it’s really helped me get a grip on why I feel tied most of the time. I had no idea about sleep debt or how little late nights here and there really add up. The reminders to stop drinking caffeine and eating earlier are great and are earlier than I would have ever consciously thought then to be. Another reason why my previous sleep wasn’t working for me! What would be amazing would be if there was a way setting an alarm for a morning. I realise that the idea is that you wake in a certain window (meaning you’ve completed your sleep cycle etc) but maybe a way of saying “Set an alarm, based on when you think I went to sleep, within this time period”. Then it can wake you up after a cycle but also in time for you to get to work! Other than that, I agree that the yearly pricing is a bit high, but the app is great. If you’re in the fence I suggest getting the trial and at least taking some of the learnings forward..Version: 1.128

Game changerI’m not exaggerating when I say this app has changed my entire outlook on my sleep and my life in just 7 days My sleep routine was terrible and I was so tired during the day, this app helped me see the right amount of hours I need for my sleep, and also notified me when I was my most productive and when I need to take it easy during the day, i’ve only been using it for a week but I can already see the benefits, I feel so much better mentally, I actually look forward to my mornings now. Would definitely recommend 😍✨.Version: 1.114

I don’t even know what I’m doingI just downloaded this app and I am confused as balls but I hope I can start sleeping better.Version: 1.331.0

Best app health app!Lots of apps track sleep but Rise helps you learn how to optimise your sleep schedule and energy levels. It has already helped me in 48 hours to get better sleep!.Version: 1.269.0

Great app, great customer serviceI’ve found the app to be very helpful in understanding my daily energy and how my sleep affects this. When I had a question about the app, the support was immediate and helpful. If you’re looking for this sort of app, it’s a very good one..Version: 1.308.0

Refund? The app is a great app but it defaulted to the 1 year membership and withdrew $100 from my account. my cancel date was yesterday but it already renewed, i canceled it how do i receive a refund?.Version: 1.311.0

Best week of sleep I’ve had for a long time!I’ve struggled to get enough sleep for the past couple of years now, and no matter what I try, I never seem to get to bed as early as I need to to get 8 hours sleep. I know not everyone needs 8 hours sleep, but I feel a million times more energetic and have much clearer skin when I do. Anyway, I downloaded this app a week ago and have absolutely LOVED it. I find the interface really calm and nice to use, and after a couple of days of using it my sleeping habits have been so much better. Something that I really like, is that it doesn’t constantly track your movement and waking times in the night, which means it doesn’t drain your battery and means you don’t have to sleep with it plugged in right next to your bed. Also I really like the amount of data it gives you, and the way the data is presented. I find it really motivating to see what my ‘sleep debt’ it, and to have a go and bringing it down to zero by getting adequate sleep. I’ve tried other sleep apps in the past, and this on is my favourite by far. I’d highly recommend giving it a go..Version: 1.166

SleepAwesome.Version: 1.342.0

Rise may be on to something...I’ve tried quite literally everything to get sleep: pills, vitamins, meditation, everything. It’s only been a few days, but with this app I’ve noticed a marked improvement in my sleep quality. The notifications for different aspects of things that may affect your sleep have been incredibly helpful to begin to change my sleep schedule and hopefully resolve a majority of my insomnia. These notifications have helped me take stock of when I’m working too much or just getting sucked into my phone or laptop and need to step away from the screen because I need to prepare for sleep. Within three days of downloading, I’ve had marked improvement in the amount of deep sleep I’ve gotten and my heart rate while sleeping has also dropped. The creators of this app are truly on to something really revolutionary and I can’t wait to see where it will go from here..Version: 1.63

Looking forward for what’s to comeI really enjoy the app and look forward to future innovations to the app. A barrier to Rise truly being a near cure for a lot of my struggles is that my schedule as a graduate student is not in my control for a lot of things. It is very rare that I find myself being able to follow what rise indicates as good times for me to work or rest. I wish there was a way to input what tasks you actually completed during each peak and dip duration as a way to see, for example, how having to study or do something that requires attention and energy during a dip effects sleep debt. Personally I feel like this app has a ton of future potential and I really hope that the company and people involved feel as strongly as I do because this app is something that helps manage and track more than just sleep and I’m excited thinking of what’s possible with each update that comes out!.Version: 1.163

Amazing!I was hesitant with this app when I first downloaded, however after using it for almost a year now I can happily say it’s worth the money. While this isn’t exactly a great sleep tracker in its self (but does link up and work great with other sleep tracker apps!!) it still provides amazingly accurate insight into your energy habits. I’ve followed this apps advice and in a year my sleep longevity and quality has improved significantly, I am able to keep a regular pattern of sleep. I can also schedule and plan my activities through the day based on my predicted energy levels, not to mention plan my coffee breaks for the low periods. Words do not do justice to how helpful this app is. All I can say is use it for a couple weeks, you WILL see for yourself!!.Version: 1.270.0

Sets you on the right trackI’ve been trying this for the past few days as I’ve always had a strange relationship with sleep, and so far it seems to be working. The sleep debt bubble is an easy way to see your progress (or reversal of your progress lol) and the energy chart is actually quite accurate (if you give it the correct data). There’s only a couple of downsides so far, one being that when I tap on the “Energy” tab it takes about 3 - 5 seconds to actually open, though I’m on a 6S+ so maybe I just need to get with the times. The other thing is cost (as many others have mentioned). I’d be more inclined to spend on an annual membership if I could either try the app for longer, or pay monthly to gauge whether I’ll want to use this long-term. The 7-day trial really isn’t enough, and while I understand you need to operate as a business first, if people aren’t able to see effective consistent results they’re less likely to buy-in. Changing sleep habits isn’t an easy thing to do altogether, let alone in 7 days (especially for someone with a lifetime of bad habits haha), so maybe it could be increased to 14 days? Definitely recommend the app though..Version: 1.108

Improved sleep = better meI’ve had sleep issues most of adult life but didn’t really know how to improve it. I’ve used supplements, changed exercise habits and have tried other sleep apps. The other apps (Fitbit and Garmin) tracked my sleep but frankly I already knew how bad my sleep was - what I wanted was a way to improve it. Rise asked me a lot of personal questions about my sleep and lifestyle and created a plan for me to follow. The plan was simple but effective. I was able to see how my sleep debt built up and was given some tools to pay it off. It was effective for me because of nudges - those that I asked for - were gentle reminders to stick to the plan. An example of this - I am usually on my phone late into the evening - instead of telling me I couldn’t (which is what I thought the recommendation would be) they gave me tools to make it work for me. My sleep has greatly improved and it is all thanks to the awareness, plan and help with implementation..Version: 1.9

Great App it helps you to understand yourself betterI have been using this now for a month. I’m generally impressed. After first week I could see the benefits of it and can understand myself better. Lots of good tips and ideas. It has a lot of small reminders of what you can do in your oil time or just before bead. I do like the relaxation evening sessions. Overall great app. Still learning and trying to understand how this can fit around busy parent schedule when you only have evenings for yourself ;).Version: 1.246

GET THIS NOW!!!!PLEASE GET THIS APP!! I haven’t been able to get on a schedule for 2 years (yes that’s bad I know but you gotta stay up sometimes you know) and ever since I got this app I've actually been going to school, it’s so much easier to get up in the morning. (Now I only snooze once or twice 😂) when I first got the app I had 12 hours of sleep debt, that was maybe two weeks ago? Now I have 1 hour of debt (this doesn’t seem like a lot but it is for me!!) if y’all can relate to this, I like using to do list because I like checking the box off when I finish a task, it’s motivation. ITS THE SAME WITH THIS APP. As soon as I wake up I check how much sleep debt I have, it makes me actually WANT to go to sleep and not stay up all night. And it also tells you when your going to be productive and tired based on your sleep, I haven’t used the productivity to my advantage yet but it is very helpful knowing when I’m supposed to be tired every night, I’ve had less trouble falling asleep. I love this app even though it’s expensive, please. If you want to change your sleep schedule. GET. THE. APP!!!!.Version: 1.329.0

Good idea but sleep tracking seems offI purchased a years worth to see how it goes. So far it seems to overestimate my need for sleep, and underestimate my sleep time. So my debt is very high but I don’t feel that bad. I’m not convinced it is tracking properly but this is likely a problem with Sleep Cycle rather than Rise. Has been interesting to track energy through the day..Version: 1.169

Most accurately predicts restednessThis is now the only sleep app I use (along with the health app). I’ve tried most of the sleep apps out there. I’ve even used 2-3 at a time to compare. Interesting how they can show very different readings about deep sleep etc. on the same person on the same night. Those other app’s sleep quality ratings rarely correlated with how rested I felt during the day. RISE really has something great here. This tracks sleep debt and predicts personal energy rhythms based on sleep amount and patterns. It took me a few months to really get on track (I still struggle with wanting to stay up too late binge watching TV or on my phone in bed), but I do notice I feel a lot better, physically and emotionally, when I keep my sleep debt low and sleep patterns fairly consistent. I highly recommend!.Version: 1.114

Great app.. but..I love this app, it offers a lot of useful insight and articles to learn about sleep and sleep debt and would continue use, but I will discontinue use after my trial period has finished.. the pricing and billing schedules are ridiculous, there needs to be a monthly payable option for me to consider subscribing, as opposed to having to pay $86 for the whole year. If there was an option for $8.99/month I would honestly sign up to that.Version: 1.141

Evidence-based sleep improvement!First and foremost, I find this app to be a huge help in improving your energy throughout the day. I have tried a few different paid sleep recording apps and this one is far above the rest in terms of scientific support and ultimate results! As a medical student, I’ve found that this app is tempting to refer patients to as a sleep aid resource. However, it’s looking like I’ll only be able to afford the free five-day trial. Would love to see if there’s any kind of healthcare or student discount to help pay for the cost of the app so I can better trial it and use it in my clinical practice! The main improvement that I would like to see is the ability to adjust one’s wake-up time. This may already be implemented, I simply haven’t had enough time to look into it, but if so it could be simplified as well. I know this app is focused on circadian rhythm so that may prove to be a hurdle with this request but all in all truly have enjoyed my trial with Rise!.Version: 1.73

A pricey but wonderful and intuitive appI have been using the free trial and wow, I can’t believe how detailed and informative this app is. I love data-driven health apps like this one. I really like the features that show you went to schedule certain activities based on your sleep debt and circadian rhythm. I have recommended the trial to my family and friends. Sadly at $120 a year its too pricey for me to continue using but hopefully one day I can return to it. Highly recommend if you can afford it.Version: 1.316.0

Really good app with a very cluttered UII really like the app and it helps me manage my sleep and activity really well. Nothing has been as accurate as this. But come on guys the UI is so cluttered. The bottom panes popping out is just so confusing..Version: 1.289.0

GreatI learnt about this app from WWDC23 when it flashed up on screen. It looked intriguing & I knew I was sleep deprived so gave it a go. My sleep debt was about 19 hours. It’s more simple than other sleep apps because it basically only focuses on sleep debt and energy but that’s why I have found it so useful. After about 10 days I have got my debt down to 3.5 hours and I feel great. The app just basically gave me the accountability (for me and family) to be able to say ‘ I need to go to bed now’ or I need to ‘focus now’ which is all I really needed to go from feeling like a walking zombie to ready and raring to go.Version: 1.289.0

A nudge in the right directionAs someone that has always found sleep tricky this app was a perfect start to show me the right way to go about it. I have always been a very tired person, low energy levels, but by using this app, I can firsthand see my statistics, most productive hours, as well as my sleep debt that I need to catch up on. This has felt almost like a game to try and regain this debt and has driven me to want to get to sleep earlier than my reckless 2 AM bedtimes. Overall, I’d say a great app. The pricing may be difficult for some like myself, but you can always email their friendly employees who can sort you out. I love the concept and it has helped me so much since using it..Version: 1.116

Worth a go, with caveatsRise is a take on sleep tracking that focuses on the amount of sleep, and your sleep debt, rather than sleep quality. It tracks via phone use, and this is one of the areas where it needs a bit of tweaking. If you get up in the night to use the bathroom say at 3am, and pick up your phone to light the way, it amends your sleep schedule so you didn’t start sleeping until after 3. It removes a lot of the automation and means you have to amend your sleep pattern every day. It then provides an energy schedule which varies in accuracy for me, but it a useful indication of when to do your complex and focussed work. With reminders of when to start winding down, when to stop drinking caffeine, and that it takes a while to clear the sleep chemicals from your systems, it’s a useful tool - even if my sleep has got worse since using it! The big barrier is price, a monthly fee would make this a no brainer, but almost £50 in one go for the year is much harder to swallow. As someone who works with content creators to help optimise their productivity I recommend getting what you can from the week trial and using that data as a guide, but my clients balk at the annual fee..Version: 1.111

I love thisI have been using this App for about 3 months now and I am really impressed with what it can teach you about sleep. I didn’t think my sleep habits were bad as I have sleep apnea and have been sleeping what I thought was adequately since using a sleep apnea machine for the last 18 months . I was recommended this app to try from a family member so gave the free trial a go. It took me about 4 weeks but the feeling I get now from having a good nights sleep is absolutely amazing. I am using an Apple Watch to monitor sleep coupled with this app and am following the recommendations from the app. It really has made a difference. Thank you..Version: 1.313.0

Pretty goodOverall it’s helping me manage sleep better, which is good. On the downside, it’s expensive for what it is with a forced full year payment. This makes me pickier about things like: the UI is creative but feels like a constant hindrance, and the woman who is doing the meditations has a very annoying voice and is very unrelaxing..Version: 1.132

Phenomenal but ... $$$I absolutely adore this app! It has been an incredibly helpful tool for me. I have been in a constant state of exhaustion, (single mom, full-time student, homeschooling and caring for my grandfather) no matter how much rest I get. And this app has offered so many different tools and notifications to keep me in check so I can prep for a proper nights rest. I have been super consistent and have started to feel better, more energized and more grounded in my day to day. My only wish is that although the app is fantastic, it is not free and does not offer any free basic options. Which in my case is awful because it is a little out of my budget given my situation. Hopefully they can have those options available soon because I was really looking forward to trying the sleep reset tool they have!.Version: 1.105

Very helpful DevsI rarely write app reviews but wanted to drop a quick update on my experience of Rise. I trialled the product and think it’s great, however as I am currently in a subscription with a tracker that is providing a similar (not the same) service I decided not to continue with Rise at this point in time. I had to have contact with the developers as I had an issue with the subscription. Normally with apps you find yourself stuck never speaking to an person but I have to say that Rise staff were fantastic. An email réponse within 30mins and a continued email chat that quickly sorted my problem. I may well go back to a Rise subscription in the future. Don’t be worried about trialling it..Version: 1.225

IntéressantSo far so good!.Version: 1.345.0

GreatSo far experience is amazing, let’s see in long term.Version: 1.327.0

Good but not greatI love the concept, and I have found it motivating in my goal to get enough sleep. But I don't find the app that intuitive to use such as when adding in naps. I also would like to see a note function - for example, last night I got the correct amount of sleep, but it wasn't so good - it would be handy to look back and see why (e.g. new mattress, not feeling well etc.). Lastly, I wish this app had family sharing. I’d love for my 12-year-old to use it to help her get enough sleep, but I cannot justify paying out another subscription for her..Version: 1.117

My best companion app since 3 years alreadyI've been using the "Rise" app for almost three years now, and I can confidently say it's been an invaluable tool for understanding my sleep needs and managing my energy levels. By utilizing data from my Apple Watch, Rise goes beyond basic sleep tracking, providing accurate insights that guide me in determining the best times for workouts, additional sleep, and non-physical activities during energy dips. This app has become an essential part of my daily routine, and I can't recommend it enough. I also want to acknowledge the outstanding customer support team behind Rise. Over the years, they have consistently delivered prompt and knowledgeable assistance, ensuring that my experience with the app remains seamless and enjoyable. With its long-term reliability and personalized features, Rise has truly become my go-to app for optimizing sleep and energy management. It deserves a well-earned 5-star rating..Version: 1.296.0
