✓ Too slow on iPhoneThe app looks good in the beginning but on iPhone it is too slow and gets hung for minutes when adding files. Secondly when you have to import it shoes saved but in reality it doesn’t . The provider needs to work to make it perfect . Otherwise lots of nerves.Version: 5.20.0

This tool has cool graphics design and movement tools, but I need two things for it to be worth the dough. 1. Export as mp4 (not QuickTime movie) 2. Control file size - web stories and servers won’t take 1080p and it loads slowly for users. I need 720p. Let me know if you’d like to chat more about my specific use case. ✓ Great potentialThis app can do a lot of cool stuff but it glitches like crazy. Changes you make in a video don’t correlate when you watch the preview. Screens freeze and zoom etc when those edits are not turned on. 1 hour into a video clip Edit and I saved it as a upgraded to premium and came back to an unsaved video and my whole edit was lost. Play around first with saves before you start a serious edit and lose it all.Version: 5.13.0

✓ Won't allow you to use your own ITunes libraryThe app doesn't allow you to use your own library of songs when creating a project. I find this incredibly frustrating because it only allows access to maybe 1% of your entire library. The app will even ask you to purchase a song that you already have previously downloaded/purchased in your library. Of course there is no contact information to resolve this. ✓ Glitching Horribly!I’ve been using it consistently for about a month now but after today’s update, I am sadly going to give it only two stars. It would be a one star but it was fine until the update. I would upload multiple video slides and all the videos would change to the very first video. The transition between the videos are not as shown in the template as it goes to green screen in between slides. Not a good look at all. ✓ Not worth the moneyI saw an ad and gave it to give this app a try. I also signed up for the 3 day free trial (after you get charged +$100 a year for the pro version). Maybe it’s because I’m actually a graphic designer but I really don’t feel this app is worth it. I mainly wanted to use it for some cool reel templates to save me some time and there are really aren’t many at all, and on top of that none of them are really interesting. For story templates I was also interested in checking out options with editable motion graphics. There’s one that I found under the “pride” section, but other than that not much. There are a few things with special effects text but you can’t edit the text. I also have seen any templates or anything resembling what they are using for their one ad where text is integrated into the video of the girl on the horse. All-in-all feels like a lot of fluff, templates are basically repeats of each other just different cuts, nothing special or new feeling that would make paying +$100 a year worth it..Version: 5.28.0

Can’t seem to find any templates for regular square shaped Ig posts. No ability to make fully customized posts rather than just copying the given templates. Update: added a star. I did figure out how to do make my own projects but the transition effects between clips are very limited and the app is a clunky and frustrating. There’s only 7 different transitions and you can’t even change the speed of them or modify them in anyway. I also can’t seem to find a preset to display landscape orientation photos within a reel where the picture is panned across like you see in some of the templates. ✓ Scammed out of over $119I received a push notification that I could sign up for a free trial for this app. I had used it before and paid for it and was willing to give it another shot with this free trial. I was then told that I was charge $119 for an entire year. When I reached out to support they refused to refund me as “there should have been very small print that said if I already used this I would be paid the full amount”. I am a very reasonable person who rarely writes these kind of reviews. I am really disappointed that they would send me a push notification only to know that I wouldn’t be eligible. ✓ I loved this app and now it's just frustrating.This app has everything one may need: access to great music, amazing templates, and just everything to create cool stories in 5 seconds. The issues: it crashes often, freezes after each download or major edit to a story, and the worst- sometimes the stories download with half of the screen blank. What's the point of a story that's half erased? I have contacted support several times, sent screenshots, and overall asked for help- no changes. I will note that I'm a premium user, so it's even worse that I have to keep finding workarounds for a product I actually invested money in. ✓ It worked well - until it didn’tI’m using this app for the past 8 months, maybe even longer. In the beginning it worked well. Lately, I get messages “Server Error. Try again later” every 5 minutes, can’t really create anything. Searching for stock movies takes a very long time(if they load at all). The biggest annoyance is when I hit “save” and it I get an error message and my work isn’t saved. I already did the “delete app-install again”, didn’t help. The other issue I have with this app is the fact that when I manage to make a story video, 8 out of 10 times when I post my video on FB, I get a “dispute”message from a 3rd party about the stock videos I used in Instories app. Disputing the video changes on FB takes time and frankly, it’s getting annoying. I don’t mind if it happens here and there, but this is not something I want to deal with so often. I already checked and updated my phone, didn’t help either. ✓ Mediocre tbhThis app is honestly mediocre at best. There are basically no free templates available. You have to pay for an incredibly expensive subscription to get any of the good ones. I understand the developers have to make money but they should at least give more features to non pro users. Not everyone has the money to pay for an outrageous subscription just for pretty basic designs. I know of other apps for making Instagram stories and graphic design that can do the same thing (if not 10x better) FOR FREE. I honestly think marketing this app as “free” in the App Store is a low key scam. Also this app is unnecessarily confusing to use. ✓ A scummy way of doing business.I downloaded this app and opted for the free trial. I was not prompted to get the full one year subscription or to cancel the subscription and I was automatically charged 63.99. I am unable to get a refund from the Apple Store. The response I got from from customer support was “according to the conditions, subscription is activated automatically 24 hours before the end of your trial period. When you choose a 3 day trial period, you accept this conditions.” I do travel videos on youtube, and I will make sure to spread the word of how scummy certain apps can be. ✓ Has Frustrating GlitchesThere’s a lot to like about Instories. It has some great text animations and allows for a lot of customization of it’s templates. I also love that I can import fonts and brand logos. On the other hand, the app suffers from a serious glitch that undercuts a lot of its value: saved work often disappears forcing the user to start from scratch. This has happened to me again and again, and the only solution I can find is to just finish and export the project all in one go, and not rely on saved files. Once this serious flaw gets fixed the app will be worthy of five stars..Version: 3.11.1

✓ I Found 2 Free Templates in 45 min...Lots of, what I assume are, great templates for... everything you could possibly imagine. However, It takes a good while to learn how to work with the app so that you're not super slow. Just the creative options will take a half hour to make something decent. That's good to have a great selection, don't get me wrong, but I'm counting minutes of use. Your not gonna be making anything flashy in under 30-45 minutes for awhile. So, in the amount of time you would give yourself to be comfortable with an app that is charging THAT MUCH, you want to be SURE you can, and will use it... Since youll be paying for a year. I'd Say 3 or 4 template a day for a week before I'd commit. Except you'll run of everything free (that you would want to even use.. Remember, they don't give away anything people will pay for) so, the free stuff is straight garbage. And, they trust potential customers SOOOO much that they will let you build a pro template all day, every day, but they WATERMARK the 10 sec preview. ✓ Great but too buggy for professionalsThere are so many bugs. For example. I’m duplicating projects and each project has text in a different language but the app mixes up all the projects text so my English version now has Spanish and Russian text. A lot of issues with the timeline not playing properly from the middle. Issues with music not playing properly. Minimum one minute posts is kind of wack too. It’s an amazing app for a quick post. I have a subscription for the year but I, now looking for something a bit more stable even if it has less features. ✓ Glitches and freezesThe app used to work seamlessly before the recent update. Decided to sign up today with a 3 day trial. But after coming across these bugs, I’m going to skip subscription for now until these issues are fixed. A note to the developer , I noticed now the app sometimes freezes when you upload a photo / video. I had to force quit the app a few times and to relaunch it to bypass the freeze. It used to work without a problem. Also, one of the stock vídeo is not playing back in the final exported video. To be specific which vídeo I’m referring to, it is the “2020” stock video of gold candles and a pink background when a hand repositions the candle. On the exported video, the stock vídeo is not moving. It shows moving in the preview, however, it doesn’t move after exporting to the camera roll. I tested it out with a different stock vídeo and it worked fine, just not with the 2020 candle video. I really like the Wishlist template with the red background and 3 circles. I like that you can move all the elements on the page, however, you can’t move the circle around the image/video. Can you please allow for the circles to be moved and/or deleted..Version: 4.15.2

HOWEVER, I’ve redownloaded this app FOUR separate times and restarted my phone multiple times to use this app, but this window suggesting templates WILL NOT stop popping up. ✓ What a disappointmentI decided to use the free version so I have to scroll until I find a template that has no "pro", but why do they have them if when I play it, it shows "Why is there no sound?" And when I tap there it says that I have to choose another audio due to copyright. I tried three times. Before I tried the third I said out loud "If it happens again, I'll delete it" and unfortunately it did. ✓ Would be great if it didn’t force close!I just downloaded this app today and really like the features! Unfortunately, despite having the most recent version of the app, the most recent update, and the most recent model of iPhone...this app force closes constantly. It’s impossible to export anything. Force closed at 40%, tried again and it force closed at 60%...so on and so on. I tried at least a dozen times and then to add insult to injury it started force closing on me while I was editing in the app as well. Extremely frustrating! The edits look great and it’s easy to navigate, but unfortunately the glitches just make it a waste of time since you can’t download anything. It has a free trial so I subscribed like I normally do with the other app to see if this is something that will work for me and if there something special or different from other similar apps I have used. But then I totally forgot about the app and trial ended and my account was charged $130. I immediately reported it stating I didn’t intend to subscribe because I was not happy. ✓ No more free music 🥲I’m a social media manager and this app was my lifesaver! It had everything you needed to make great video content, and that included music. I don’t know how long ago this happened but their music selection is no longer available. You use to be able to add top 40 hits onto your video which was amazing for platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Now, you have to purchase the individual songs to be able to include them. I’m aware that this likely has to do with royalties, etc but if they offered it before what happened for this feature to be gone? Yes, there’s the royalty free music, but you can get that on any other app for free. I requested a refund but who k owe if I’ll get it. I could remember the exact “styles” I chose before so one of them is different than what I chose on the error one.
