Fastic: Fasting & Food Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Good free app, great with paid planI gave it 3 stars because what I got it for is great, but the other stuff is either just ok, too basic, or you have to pay in order to use. I got it just for the fasting tracker, which is great if you are doing 16:8 fasting. There is no other fasting option. But, you choose your start time and it lets you know your end time. And there is a timer that counts down, and it will send you notifications when to start and stop. This feature is great and really the only thing I use it for. The other features it offers for free are ok. The step counter works great. Just carry your phone everywhere you go and it counts your steps (as long as it’s not in your purse or bag). Works just like the built-in pedometer on the Health app. You can even set a step goal. The water tracker allows you to set a daily goal, but you can only count water and only in 8oz increments. (I use the Drink Water app-it’s free and works much better.) You can also have a friend join you in fasting. If you both have the app or an account it will track your progress together. You need to pay for a membership plan to access all the other features such as eating suggestions and meal plans, challenges, help, etc..Version: 1.30.1

Does not work on iPhoneStopped working on iPhone after latest update..Version: 1.70.1

Ripped offTook my money but did not provide the plan I purchased. Have emailed several times and gotten no response . Beware and save your money ..Version: 1.156.0

Waste of moneyMissing some very basic features and is very limiting. I wasted my money on a month of pro thinking that custom plans would allow you to actually make custom plans, but you are still locked into the template schedules. There isn’t even a basic timer like in the very version of life. The pro version is still very intrusive with notifications and if you disable them the app will continue to prompt you to activate them, even in the pro version. Also the ai assistant is unusably broken and will occasionally give you wrong help navigating the interface, and even completely different contradictory answers at times. I tried to get a refund but to no avail, if you use find the app nice with its UI etc just use the free version, the pro membership is theft and will not benefit your user experience..Version: 1.143.1

New updateCan’t open the app since the latest update. Please correct..Version: 1.70.1

Weight tracker is incorrectI have been a user of the app before but lost my way. A week or so ago I decided to give it another go. Annoying it lost all my history despite having never deleted the app. However the worst part is that the weigh tracker shows incorrect data despite the weight log being correct. It shows the amount to go as 18lbs when it is clearly 40lbs and also shows my current and target weights completely incorrectly. This would be my motivator, seeing that to go number moving correctly. The app itself is good, I like the reminders to start fasting and the notifications to tell me when I hit fat burn. I don’t like the adverts to upgrade to premium multiple times a day but I can’t switch those off with losing the useful reminders. I’ll see how it goes and once I get into my habit of fasting properly again I should be able to carry on without the app..Version: 1.131.0

Great app ruined by adsUsed to be a great app before it got ruined by the extremely annoying ads. Sorry, but you can’t force people to watch a 30 second ad twice a day just to track basic information. Uninstalled.Version: 1.151.0

Not longer able to update weightI loved this app but now the ability to update your weight and the see more option is gone. Not useful if you can’t track your weight..Version: 1.61.0

It was great… until an update…*free version* Since the update the notifications have changed and are not at the right times, no reminders to stop fast timer, keeps removing my starting details. Some of these may be fine in the paid version of the app but why did you have to change the free one….Version: 1.78.2

Not easy to navigateI am finding some aspects of this App confusing. Perhaps time will tell but I don’t find some of it logical..Version: 1.79.0

Weight input not workingI can't input my weight, it says it's too low. What am I supposed to do?.Version: 1.148.0

The Community Chat Needs WorkThe Fastic App has potential to be a great tool, however there are some key issues with the community tab. After being on here for about two weeks, I’ve decided to delete the app. What’s the point in fasting from food if you can’t fast from negativity. The chat room is toxic 90% of the time from toxic behavior and no moderation. Fasting is a difficult task already and part of the attraction to the Fastic App was the ability to engage in conversation with others also on their respective journeys toward a healthier life. However, other Fastic users repeatedly spam the chat, attack other Fastic app users, and engage in extremely toxic behavior well into the classification of cyber bullying. I wish everyone the best on their journeys and remember you don’t have to take part in bad behavior. Insecurities really show here and sometimes it seems normal to be abusive, while not even realizing it. The block and reporting feature do not work at the moment so one can’t ignore the other persons behavior. It effects the entire atmosphere of the community tab. Please fix this chat or the select few who are inducing this behavior stop. With some changes to give the user more control on blocking and reporting, moderators or filters in the chat room, the app will be a great too for the countless humans ready to take a step to a healthier version of themselves. Regardless if you care or not, Enjoy and much love to you all. 🙏🏽❤️🌱..Version: 1.16.0

Amazing App Except for one thing...The app and the science behind it are truly amazing. I fast for 16 hours 6 times a week, and have never felt better. The lessons are great, and I love being able to see what stage my body is at during the fast. The reason why I have given it is three stars is because my experience is significantly diminished with the notifications. I started out with notifications on, built up my habit, so I don’t need them anymore, and turned them off. Oh my god. Every single time I try to do something in the app, it’s borderline harassment to turn them back on again. Instead of one tap to start my fasting phase, I now have to tap 4 times: one to start fasting, two to decline the pop up to switch notifications on, three to confirm that I am sure, and finally four to actually start fasting. It got so annoying that I switched them back on again, only to find that instead of notifications to just start/end fasting, there’s loads of other rubbish that comes through. Please just let us seasoned users switch them off and not be bombarded with in-app notifications to switch them on again. We’re already sold on the app and the journey! For that reason, I have given the app three stars. If it wasn’t for this, it would be 5 stars without question..Version: 1.41.1

Core concept is good, but…The app pushes the “plus” subscription really hard. It is not clear there is a lot of value there, and pricing is quite high which continues as a monthly payment. Couldn’t there be a one off payment t for a premium version of the app, or a one off payment to cover a period of time, rather than being locked in indefinitely. Also, the interface is rather cluttered. I really only want to see 2 things most of the time - where I am with fasting and to track my water. The amount of pop ups and “to dos” to get through to track water seems a bit clunky - surely it could be made more streamlined for something that you are going into 8 times a day or more?.Version: 1.56.0

Too many notificationsI enjoy this app but they have been sending way too many spammy notifications recently..Version: 1.64.0

Not intuitive, talk to figure out. But great visualsMaybe it’s because an ADHD, and came from much more simplified and straightforward app Zero. But this particular app does not seem intuitive on how to start and stop and edit how long you wanna fast when you fasted and backtracking to add a fast in that you forgot to record. So just very complicated. So I will have to delete it. But visually it’s very pretty. And very much shows what’s happening with your body in the fast at that moment. So my advice is experiment with it and several other apps, do not buy the advance membership until you’ve tried it out for a month. So I will say that first they were trying to charge me about $75 a year. And then when I kept refusing it suddenly offered up eight $30 a year membership instead. Maybe because it’s the holidays? Don’t know. But a reason to hold out for a while. But bottom line complicated for me, so I wouldn’t be using it..Version: 1.78.2

Widget doesn’t updateSince ios15 the widget doesn’t work anymore.Version: 1.68.0

EDTo be completely honest, as someone that has done a lot of research and had major curiosity into anorexia in particular, this app is literally giving you hidden Ana tips. The first lesson I got was to slow down my eating by counting how many times I chew. This is the kind of obsessive behaviour that people with anorexia have. So while I have always wished I had an ED, I feel that this app could push a lot of possible anorexics, (given the right amount of shove), and is actually quite dangerous. The motivation too closely resembles pro-Ana motivation..Version: 1.9.2

Good, but Community feature is ridiculousI really like the fasting tracker and the information it gives you about what is happening in your body at different points throughout your fast. It’s motivating to see how long you’ve got and that if you break the fast too early you might as well not have fasted at all. However, the community feature is an absolute joke. It’s hard to interact with people you want to really have a conversation with and the rest of it is just what seems to be kids or at least very immature people taunting each other and writing messages that make little sense. It’s definitely not the supportive community that it’s made out to be and most people aren’t writing about the app. Really disappointed as I’ve used communities on other forums and found them very motivating. This one makes me want to delete the app!.Version: 1.16.0

Good but could be betterLots of good stuff but needing to pay for some is a bit expensive for me. The step tracker is also inaccurate as I don’t often have my phone in my hand when I am on the go. If it linked with my fitbit, then I wouldn’t appear so lazy with my steps. As I do far more than the fastic app shows. I do like the short lessons. And understanding the different breakthrough points during a fast. I am only 11 days in and look forward to seeing what else the app has to offer..Version: 1.31.0

It was ok - except too many adds now and pop ups - fasting windows need to be longerWe really need to be able to choose longer fasts - health benefits show longer fasting is great for your health so why not have an app that covers all bases ? and you need to able to plan your weekly fasts.Version: 1.147.1

Started great ended unusableI had been using Fastic for the past 2 years on a daily basis, really enjoying the gameified fasting tracking it offered: simple and straightforward. Unfortunately, today I deleted the app and have no intention of downloading again any time soon. Fastic’s decision to implement the most aggressive ad strategy has ruined the app. Unsolicited advertisements pop up every time I open the app, blaring a halfwit marketing slogan from my speakers without permission, and in some instances not allowing me to skip the ad. What’s worse, Fastic’s ads feature various products and marketplaces with a reputation for selling counterfeit and unsafe consumer goods, which is unacceptable and reputation tarnishing. I attempted to inform customer service of the issues this ad policy is causing but to no avail, receiving an automatic reply with a bunch of hoops I had to jump through to offer my feedback. So, here is feedback offered in a straight and straightforward way. A very sad end to Fastic on my phone..Version: 1.145.0

Motivating and enjoyable but not quite thereI’ve enjoyed this app and the animations keep you entertained and excited to continue with courses/stick to your plan. I recently upgraded to the plus and would really appreciate the recipies to include a proper measurement instead of “Units”. After googling what a unit is, it’s very easy to go over the calories that the app suggest. If the recipe would suggest table spoons or gram measurements, that would be ideal.Version: 1.88.2

No way to contact you - support no goodHi there! The app is good but there is no way to contact for support for the app. There is an issue with the app tracking weight and goal weight..Version: 1.69.0

Ways to improve!Loving the app heaps and is easy to use but I feel like some more information about eating times should be given. Would love to know more about if I need to be spreading out my meals during my 6 hours I can eat or if it doesn’t matter and I can go nuts. I’m a lazy 20 year old male and am not afraid to admit that I want the thinking taken out for me and have step by step for everything so if something could be provided about when to eat everything in my 6 hours that would be awesome.Version: 1.16.0

DisappointedThis app is still not available on Apple Watch and still no dark mode.Version: 1.145.0

Its confusing and you won’t use it dailyNot sure where the hype around this app stems from. Its confusing to use and over time it discourages you from using it daily. Just opening the app means you have to wait 5 seconds for the ‘splash’ screen to disappear. Every time. Also the timers are strangely off. You start a timer and it immediately goes 30 sec into the future. I need an easy-to-use fast timer. This is not it..Version: 1.22.3

Quit Changing Displays For the Sake of Making a ChangeOpened the app today after the recent update and the fasting display was changed. Your changed the colors, for whatever reason, and now I cannot quickly see the phase of my fast based on the color. You did not add information or make the information presented more usable, you just changed it for the sake of change. As a software developer of over 50 years experience, I despise changes that do not improve the experience or present new, valuable information but merely show that you are capable of making a change. I do not use Fastic as a sensual experience but rather as a mechanism for tracking and improving my fasting. Instead of changing the way information is displayed for the sake of making it “prettier,” focus on changes that improve functionality and usability like allowing me to set a fasting schedule for each day. I’d like to be able to set the length and start of my fast for each day so it can reflect my actual schedule/needs and not have the app expect everyday to be the same or that I will daily remember to make the required changes..Version: 1.105.0

Have room for improvementToo many Ads! Too many distracting popups, very annoying!.Version: 1.152.0

Great app, but needs improvementOverall it’s a great app when used in conjunction with a CICO monitoring app (like MyFitnessPal, etc.). But if you have this app installed on multiple devices, like a phone and a tablet, if you don’t open both apps every single day multiple times, one of the apps will think that you aren’t fasting anymore and will delete your streak or mess with your fasting clock. It’s frustrating to be on a streak only to have one of the apps stop your timer and delete your streak because it thinks that you stopped using it, when in reality you’ve been using it on your other device. Even being signed into my account on both devices doesn’t prevent this, I don’t understand why both apps don’t sync with each other when they are signed into the same account. Also every now and then I will do a 24-36 hour fast, if you don’t open the app with in that period several times, it will also assume that you stopped using the app and will reset or stop your clock, ruining your fasting and losing your streak. I understand and appreciate the coaching aspect of this app, but they really need to fine tune and relax these hard stops. Maybe extend the timer/streak resets to two or three days before automatically stopping the timer? I feel that about half the time I’m fighting with this app and I ultimately wish it would just leave my timer and streaks alone..Version: 1.38.0

Frustrating to useThe time does not adapt to the country you are in. I am in New Zealand. I tried to change it, hard to contact them, then when I did, they weren’t any help..Version: 1.66.0

Not based on good scienceI have asked for a full refund. Fasting is a beneficial lifestyle, however this app limits to only up to a 24hour fasting window. While it offers an introduction to those new to fasting, anyone who wants an app that will take them through a complete fasting experience with a complete list of fasting options that include extended fasting will be very disappointed. There is no provision for anything longer than a 24 hour fast. Current scientific research supports gradually increasing extended fasting lengths up to 72 hours or more. This maximises autophagy and optimal health benefits. I would recommend you do not buy this app if you want to have all the benefits of fasting that can be individualised to all who seek fasting as a lifestyle, not just a beginner. My other concern is that there is no choice of support / meal plans for Ketogenic meals, which once again has great current science to support it. The app needs much more development, before it can support its claims..Version: 1.25.3

App has annoying AI promptI really enjoyed the program. It let me log my fasting, water consumption and exercise. However recently the programmers have got really excited about implementing an AI element to the system. The problem is that it prompts you to talk to it every time you log in. This wouldn’t be a problem if it asked it once but if you are consuming the water they suggest and log your eating that is atleast 9 prompts a day. I didn’t pay to use an app to be asked 9 times a day to talk to a robot..Version: 1.140.1

Great, if you want to be constantly bombarded with notificationsI’ve used another fasting app in the past and decided to give this a go after reading all the positive reviews. However, I really regret our cashing a three month subscription now. Firstly, the fasting regimes are not that varied; you only really have options where your day is split into two phases, fasting and non-fasting, and the period is always the same. There’s no option to have different regimes on different days, or multiple feeding windows in a single day. But my biggest issue is the constant notifications and the the somewhat infantilising nature of the app. I don’t want to earn stars for things. Why? Because I’m not six years old. And the constant reminders to log glasses of water are infuriating. I know I need to drink, but I’ll drink when I’m thirsty, thank you very much. Nagging me to log it all day is ridiculous. I’m hoping I can get a refund because this app is just awful..Version: 1.73.1

Fastic has potentialThe problem that I find with Fastic is that it assumed that you live with your phone. I find it extremely annoying that I cannot edit my times when I finally remember to switch the phone on. Also, I have problems with my feet and legs and cannot walk even short distances, however, I am able to use a vibrating platform and perform a program that would easily been equivalent to 4000 steps but again, I cannot edit my steps so it remains at zero. The vibrating platform vibrates so fast that the phone cannot count the vibrations. I like the idea of Fastic and I am losing weight but I am disappointed that it doesn’t work as I expected. For the money that I spent on my subscription I expected more. If I could edit my details I guess I could cheat on the results but who would I be kidding..Version: 1.80.2

Very unhappy… avoid this appThe app was good but the last few times I log-in I’ve had to fill out advertising preferences… there is no simple button to reject all, I have to manually select ‘no’ for each option. And this is despite the fact that I bought a 12-month paid subscription. They make it harder to say ‘no’ to advertising & to agreeing for them to share my details with vendors. You’ve just made it easier to hit the ‘delete’ button on the entire app rather than fill out your stoopid form each time..Version: 1.152.0

Irritating UIFasting works, and I have tried to like this app, but it has too many irritations to its UI that it should not have. When launching, it takes a long time displaying its name before actually letting you do anything. Once in, you are effectively dealing with a simple countdown timer with some whizzy graphics overlayed. This is where the ‘meat’ of the app is, and it is also where the problems lie. Since starting this, I have hit the ‘Start Fasting’ button and left the app only to find, 13 hours later, that the app did not start the fasting timer and it throws the schedule out completely. On a few occasions, the ‘Completed Fasting’ screen caused the screen to go into flickering fits and it had to be soft reset to stop this. The continual nags to “subscribe” are the tip of a very irritating UI that should be slicker and smooth if it’s advertised 2 million users are to be believed. Why would you want to subscribe to a countdown clock? If it is supposed to be a forum app with a countdown, it is way off the mark. If it is supposed to be an encouragement app to help fasting, why the high subscription cost? I really wanted to like this app, but it’s fussy UI and glitchy operation don’t make it a good experience, and I really hate the near constant notifications that it generates. It may help 2 million, but for this 1 it is not good enough to even consider its rip-off subscription..Version: 1.107.1

Nothing you can’t figure out for yourselfI MUST start out by saying I have never left a detailed rating for an app before this one. It’s usually a star rating if at all. I felt it was my duty to comment on this one. I downloaded this app because I had been doing intermittent fasting for over a year. I thought the fasting counter was great (which is why the one star) so when an offer for a 3 month membership at a discounted rate appeared I was all in. Outside of the fasting tracker there is nothing impressive about what you get for your membership. I can’t even choose low carb as a diet option so the recipes don’t apply to me. Also, I cannot seem to locate the body fat analysis page at all. All I can say is... thank goodness it was only $20. Don’t waste your money..Version: 1.26.4

Lost fastsWorks reasonably well and the explanations are useful, but two fatal flaws for me. Firstly, too many reminders to do this or that - just let me start fasting with a single tap! Secondly, sometimes I go well beyond the initial set fast and when I come back to it I’m told the app stopped the fast for me, with no opportunity to edit start or end times, effectively cancelling the record of the significant fast I did! * Following developer response requesting an email to explain what I don’t like about the app... read the review to understand my issues with it!.Version: 1.39.0

More money, less features than competitors and health sync brokenNo calorie tracker for specific meals like competitors offer for less money. Apple health sync is broken. Does not capture all data, and when it captures it, does so incorrectly..Version: 1.149.0

Accessed data when permission was revokedI connected it to apple health, realised some data was wrong and deleted it from apple health, but it didn’t change in Fastic. After over a week of emailing with support (took forever to reply) telling me useless things like “close and open the app”, they suggested adding incorrect logs to apple health and they would change in Fastic. I had already disconnected Fastic from accessing apple health data, but it still had access to it. Endless emails telling me to upgrade, while this was still going on, telling me my ticket number again. Support was useless and honestly rude, and most importantly the app will access data even if you revoke access..Version: 1.144.0

Lost 61 lbs with the help of this app but….The recent updates are horrible, the app is glitching, the AI is annoying and sends too many notifications, the ADs are out of control and when I press anywhere in the app not necessarily the ad banner itself the app forces me to go to 3rd party sites. So for example, I could be trying to start or stop my fasting clock and it kicks me out of the app and opens a window in my web browser to some website, that’s not right. I don’t want to be forced onto a possibly fraudulent website. I don’t care for the change of the water conversion from Cup/Ounces to Liters. Also when I start my fasting clock the app will keep asking me when am I going to start my fasting clock after I’ve already done it and it keeps sending notifications asking if I realized that I hadn’t started the clock when it’s already been clicked on. This app was not like this a year ago. When the app was good it was extremely helpful, and it still has its helpful aspects but I’m giving it 3 stars at this time because now it feels more like an annoyance when I open the app..Version: 1.143.1

Limited dietary preferencesThe best feature of this app is the timer, although I’m doubtful that the phases are correct for everyone. It should ask if the user has T2DM as this affects blood glucose patterns. Also ketosis usually takes much longer to kick in. The worst feature is the dietary planner, which is biased towards an unnatural plant-based grain-heavy diet. For those of us who’ve tried that before (and damaged their health) the app should offer a low-carb healthy fat option as a dietary preference. A paleo/primal option would be good too. Fasting alone cannot undo the damage from a diet of manufactured food. Personally I’ve been much healthier (subjectively and objectively in blood tests) after cutting out grains, sugars (including fruit), and seed oils, and sticking to vegetables, fish, and pasture raised meat..Version: 1.78.2

Terrible timer appHere is a timer that will keep nagging you to subscribe, add “buddies”, to stay in the app, buy frostier, collect stars. To read their interstitials with fake countdowns and increase their sales numbers instead of giving you a product that adds anything simple and of value. Might as well stick with the native timer app..Version: 1.16.0

Not that greatThere needs to be more up front information on how to structure diet and how to determine which fasting regimen is right for any individual. Also, i’ll have read other places that if one sticks with one regimen for a long period of time, the body adapts, which makes sense. The primary things the app does is 1) tells you to drink water, 2) gives notification reminders when to start and stop your fast (that you have to decide on your own which one you should choose, with not much information), 3) lets you record you weight every day. There are little daily reading nuggets, which are interesting and some are helpful, but I find much of the information would be helpful up front. Also, the diet “coach” or whatever it’s called is not a live person —— it’s just a list of recipes and recommended foods that you can scroll through. I have some very simple, basic questions like, is it ok to use stevia? I like the tiniest bit in my morning coffee. There’s no live support to answer a simple question, let alone a more complex one. My doctor has recommended “Zero Fasting” app. Will try that..Version: 1.55.2

Still unsureGood app for keeping track of fasting, but only if you want to do it every day. No use to you if you are interested in intermittent fasting. Easy to follow, notifications good so you are reminded of when to start fasting, end fasting, drink water, exercise, so that is helpful. Find it hard to earn frosties that allow you to keep your progress. Worst thing about it is I somehow lost flames, no idea how that happened, so reward system is a bit screwed up because you work hard to get rewards, then lose them with no real reason why. Also, no extra rewards if you fast longer than required, which annoys me as you can’t track any benefits outside of your allocated fasting window. Once it got easier I could fast an hour or so outside allocated time, but have no idea if this was a good thing or not. Kinda disappointed, don’t think this is the right app for me..Version: 1.14.1

Misleading and FalseI have a PhD in NeuroBiology so I am very familiar with these research. Firstly, this app is very misleading. How so? It is using different metabolic phases (low sugar phase, ketosis phase, autophagy) to impress people that it is actually happening. It’s not that easy, and if it was then many of the users would be very slim and healthy by low and would not require this app anymore. However, it is not that easy to get into ketosis mode and switch to fat burning therefore forget about autophagy. It takes an AVERAGE of two days to completely deplete glycogen even from the liver in order to produce ketones. Human biology and how energy is utilised is a very sophisticated process and app likes these makes people fool and is annoying to our science community who actually are researching on matters as such. Bottom line: Diet for ATLEAST two days without consuming any meal and then you can actually start timo produce a decent amount of ketones. Remember, 2Days!. You don’t need to purchase all these farce plans in the app to do such things..Version: 1.19.1

Doesn’t do the one thing you want it to doTerrible app. Could be perfect but it destroys fasts and doesn’t record them regularly if you go a bit longer on a fast. I felt like doing 25 hours. Continued fast. Pressed end fast for that day. Went back in to start fasting and it’s totally changed the history. Recorded 16 hours. Won’t let me change times. If you don’t immediately start your fast on the app you can’t start it from an earlier time in the day. I started a fast at 19:20 and went to record it at 19:45 and it would only let me put 19:45 as the start. Problems like this happen every day and I don’t have time in my life to faff for half sn hour trying to re-edit past fasts and record accurate data elsewhere ti add after. It’s a really mess of an app that can’t do the most important thing right. And good luck if you want an eating diner that isn’t a set hour. I’d like 1hr20 to manage to eat adequate nutrition without being full. Not this app..Version: 1.104.0

Wasted my moneyI should’ve stuck to the free version. I thought the plus would give me a reasonable food plan, but the selection of recipes is not practical (does not use common household ingredients) and if in the US you need a calculator to convert the measurements of grams and oven temp from Celsius. To have a buddy you have to invite your own personal friends. So, if you don’t have any that want to do fasting, you’re alone. Other apps have a community across all app users. The calendar is a day behind which throws me off, especially as certain components sync from my fit bit. But even that’s not consistent. Steps feed through, but the weight does not. What’s the point of syncing if it only partially works. In the beginning I saw “nutrition coaches”, passed on them but now I can’t find where to get one. Navigating the app for certain components is not intuitive. I tried to reach out for help, and that’s no where to be found on the app. I had to go to their website, surf around and finally stumbled upon how to contact them. Contacted them about the date syncing issue. Still no word. Save your money and only use the free version. Paying for enhancements is a crock..Version: 1.122.0

Fastic is good but needs improvementSo I’ve been on here for a couple of days and it’s a great app with a great concept. However I do think the meal and eat section needs work. Yes it’s good that it’s got all these raw ingredients but I think that the app needs to have food items you can get from the store on it so you can scan it into the app then you don’t need to add all the individual ingredients. I also think that there needs to be a way that we can show that we’ve made one of the recipes on the app as well as our own recipe book section or regular meals section we can just refer back to it and just select it without much hassle..Version: 1.16.0

Pricing modelGreat app in general. I understand the need to make money. However the add intensity is driving me away. I don’t see enough value for a recurring model. Provide clients with a one time fee with no updated content and I’m ok with that. Some, like me, just want a well made timer,,, like the one you provide. DO NOT USE THIS APPEver try to delete your account on the fastic app? You can’t. And it’s done that way by design to get an additional charge off your credit card. Customer service plays stupid, and refuses to help. It’s borderline fraud DO NOT USE THIS APP.Version: 1.29.2

Why is this rated so highly?I have used this app periodically for a couple years. It is extremely difficult to use if you need to change your fasting time, unless you are able to do it as it’s happening. For ex: I began fasting yesterday at 8:45am, and I’m on the 23:1 schedule. That means I should have ended my fast at 7:45am this morning. However, I slept a bit late, then became busy with several things, plus I did not feel hungry in the least (I drink tons of water) so I waited until 6pm to eat. Trying to fix this in the app is a nightmare, and it ends up not awarding stars or points or whatever. Not very intuitive!! And, no matter how many times I try resetting my password and syncing and deleting and reinstalling, my ipad Fastic does not allign with my iphone Fastic. Really frustrating. Also not sure why you can’t alter the fasting schedule to personalize. Why don’t you allow more than 23 hours of fasting at a time? It’s certainly not healthy to do all the time, but it should at least have the option..Version: 1.137.0

Originally great app recently ruined by adsI’ve used this app for a couple of years, and originally it suited my needs perfectly. I start and stop a fast period, get reminders of when it’s ending, etc. Until recently the “pro” or “premium” stuff was fairly unobtrusive. You’d get gently pushed towards premium features but it was never a hard sell. Now, it’s turned into one of those junkware apps that spams you full screen ads you can’t close whenever you interact with it. It’s nauseating. Updated to add - the app now sends you notifications for stuff unrelated to your fasting window, like an “AI Chatbot” (what?) and other garbage. And of course you can’t turn off notifications otherwise you’ll miss ones you actually need (fasting window ones).Version: 1.143.1

Decent but forced ads if you don’t pay have sound by defaultThe app is pretty nice. But every time you end your fast or start it, it plays an ad with audio enabled. Short of turning off speaker volume to off this can be very annoying. Also the app just uses you scheduled time to show how long you can eat. If you are end you fast late because you decided to go longer it will show you having less than your selected eating window. You can’t disable this. I was looking for an alternative to zero but these issues have me switching back..Version: 1.145.0

Nice app but notifications don’t workVery nice app! Good functionalities even in the free part of the app. But I found several issues: - notifications just don’t work.. I got a badge signalling 1 notification that doesn’t go away in any way and I don’t receive any notifications. Obs I made sure notifications are on in the app and in the phone settings for the app - single sign on doesn’t work. I installed the app and worked, but when I installed the app to someone else's iPhone the single sign on didn’t work for all the choices available. I needed to sign up with email - weight and other info are not taken from health.. I have several gadgets that save my metrics on Apple health, like a scale for weight, an app that tracks water from Apple Watch, etc.. it’s very annoying that this app doesn’t pick up any of those values from health.Version: 1.98.2

Seems like a good app, but...There are plenty of apps on the app store that seem good in isolation. But when it comes to health data I want to be able to sync as much as possible. It's a massive downside not being able to sync weight, BMI into apple health. But because the app itself looks good I can't bring myself to give 1 star. I also use the widget almost exclusively and in the latest update it’s basically broken. Have no incentive to use the app anymore..Version: 1.69.0

Where is Apple Watch app? This is the exact kind of app that needs an Apple Watch compatible app. This is only half a service without one..Version: 1.118.2

Could be amazing with more flexibilityI was loving the free version of the app and recently upgraded to Plus on the promise that I’d have more flexibility. But this absolutely isn’t true - even if you use “Custom” as the schedule, are in a specific plan, fasting the same length of time, every day - just with the ability to change your start/finish times. I’m trying to follow a program specific for women that adjusts length of fasts according to your cycle/hormones - and keeps things interesting and working as a bonus. PLEASE please please give this app the flex for someone to plan their own week ahead of time and say for example - Monday&Tuesday, 14hrs, Wednesday, 17hrs, Thursday & Friday, 16hrs - etc. You could get your one-off longer fasts in there, plan ahead. We all have different bodies, different lives, different cycles. Please give me an option to pre-plan my own calendar in an intuitive, user friendly way and not “switch plan” each time I need to change the length of a fast (or feel like I’ve failed a fast when I end it sooner than the app thinks I should…!).Version: 1.144.0

Can’t add friendsHaven’t been able to add buddies, I send an invite and it just opens the App Store for my friends, and same when they send an invite to me… Any help with this please?.Version: 1.111.0

Really enjoying the app but one thing…Edit: downgraded to three stars because the updates feature even more additions for the AI which is the part I use the least. On top of the regular messages the AI sends (with notifications) there is now a pop-up every time I open the app telling me to start talking to the AI. I have also had issues using the habit section where it doesn’t finish a habit properly for me to start a new one. It seems like with each update the app is getting worse. I’ve paid for the year so hoping to stick it out but if these things aren’t amended I will not be renewing when my subscription comes to an end. Old review: I like that I can add steps, water and the academy that has taught me a lot about the benefits of fasting. Would’ve given five stars but for the new AI feature. The AI in the app now sends messages everyday or every other day commenting on my progress and asking how I’m feeling. Frustrating because it’s just an AI programmed to do this, not a person that cares. Can’t seem to switch off this notification either..Version: 1.143.1

Great but the layout is so clutteredGreat app in general. I downloaded this about 3 years ago then picked it up again recently (2023). The layout used to be really cute but it’s now cluttered with a million different suggestions, variations of fast, tips, it’s just too much. The tips and info are what annoy me the most because this is the kind of cliched rubbish you get everywhere else in diet culture “did you know you should drink water”, “have some salmon and veggies”, “why you’re not loosing weight…with some annoying science along with a you’re-not-trying-hard-enough” kinda thing. It turns the concept and the app into a typical dieting app instead of a simple app with some interesting information about fasting. Most people know all of this. They’re either trying out intermittent fasting and just wanna focus on eating and fasting windows or they’re seasoned tasters and are aware of diet and exercise and would just like to use the lovely fasting clock to track their fasting hours. “Make your bed”, “give someone a cuddle”, or even “go for a walk” really waters down your content..Version: 1.131.0

I’m not impressedThis app is fine for a simple timer to see how long you’ve been fasting and it includes a water tracker, which is great, but I have learned more from support groups and free online resource about how to fast compared to the lessons this app offers. I joined Fastic’s recommended group and everyone in there is hateful. Mocking and belittling others decision to clean fast vs. dirty fast; dieting vs. straight fasting (shaming food choices diring eating window). During my time in the group, I added some users as a Buddy. This resulted in tons of notifications when someone started fasting, multiple (5+) push notifications for one, single person who just began fasting. Also a notifications every single day when I reached 12 hours of fasting asking me how I feel, but it was at night when I was sleeping. That was not useful at all. Since I have no ability to customize notifications, I had to turn all off. Constant ads to update to plus membership in another language. I couldn’t read the offer to even make a decision. Yes, the language/location on both the app and my phone is correct. This app was more annoying than useful..Version: 1.51.0

Pushy salesApp itself is neat. Has potential. Where they lost points is how pushy they are to try and get you to buy the plus version. They give you access to features like water and meal logging, then without warning take those away so when you click on their reminder to log your water intake, you’re forced into the “buy now” page. I get push notifications constantly telling me “you forgot something in your cart” while I DO NOT HAVE A CART. It’s irritating. I thought about purchasing the plus, but then they only give you the option to pay via apple store/apple pay. I emailed the customer service asking if Paypal is a possibility (I can’t find it on their website that’s equally confusing), and just got a auto generated response to check in the FAQ section for my question. In a nutshell, the app has potential, but the annoying sales pushing and lack of payment methods and customer service are unfortunately a dealbreaker..Version: 1.148.0

SCAM!!! Terrible customer service and can’t get my money back!I purchased the trial for 7 days and straight away on the first day requested my account to be cancelled before the annual fee was taken and my account upgraded. I received a response requesting proof of payment. I responded straight away but since then have not heard anything dispute numerous emails chasing as I have no had the full amount taken from my account. Terrible customer service. I am waiting to dispute the transaction through my bank. If you’re going to purchase the app do it through the App Store rather than direct through the website as you won’t get your money back or be able to stop the subscription if you change your mind. Update. They have now charged me yet again and I’m having to report them yet again. Scam company. Do not use!!!!.Version: 1.59.0

So you want an eating disorder? If you ever wanted an eating disorder but didn’t know where to begin look no further. This app rewards starving yourself for 23 hours a day with jingly bright stars and calls it ‘professional’. There is no information on safe limits, or how long you should keep up your ana- adjacent exploits, the only encouragement you get is to do more and more self-starvation. There is some attempts to be ‘and this is the science’ which sound authoritative, but are often misleading, one-sided or just plain pseudoscience. Food combining? Really? That thing that was rubbish in the 70s and hasn’t got any less rubbish with time. The main focus seems to be to make any eating you do manage to fit into your ‘window’ as complicated and calorie deficient as possible. If you care about your health and well-being, delete this app. Eating disorders kill, and not eating for 23 hours a day *is* an eating disorder whatever fancy science-y sounding terminology it hides itself behind..Version: 1.21.0

Buyer beware, Glitchy and deceptive marketingI am an avid TRF/IF fan for therapeutic reasons, not just weight management. A friend of mine ask for help on the app, so I downloaded it, pretty straight forward, not difficult to use, limited capabilities. The main thing it does is bug you to upgrade constantly and say there is a 3 month guarantee. I went ahead and signed up for a year to see if it was worth it and if I should recommend the upgrade to my friends or the app to other IF enthusiasts, it doesn’t say conditional refund, but it certainly is. READ THE FINE PRINT. Conditional refund based upon daily use for 90 days, putting your weight in weekly and not losing 3% of your weight. So it is not a refund at all. You can not actually fast on schedule for 90 days and not lose 3% of your body weight. So perhaps there is some value in the free side of this, but paying anything is a waste of money, with no satisfaction guarantee. The help center is not in English. They do not have an Apple Watch app, which would be helpful, clearing up the crash instances would be good. It does not connect to Apple health other than for steps, so you must manually enter weight to track progress. It does not conform to CCPA and GDPR standards. So using the Free side, might be helpful, but there are many alternatives out there, that do not harass for upgrade. Good Luck, You have been warned..Version: 1.44.0

I expected moreI honestly don’t get too much out of this app, I use it to keep track of timing and log my water and feeding windows however I feel like the app should be more informative which more science blurbs of what benefits are happening during the fast, and better reminders or support notifications that assist with this to keep you going. I feel the app needs a fair bit of improvement and the layout of the app is rather minimal I expected more tabs or things to interact with or log.Version: 1.55.2

Malware style ads. No goodI should t have to pay for the full app just so I do t receive malware style iOS update ads..Version: 1.151.0

AvoidI tried Fastic as new to intermittent fasting. Paid for the subscription and it led to me their Facebook and Instagram accounts. The Facebook group has obviously had no admin for a long time and the group has a lot of competitive posts about seeing how long people can fast for. Some people were undertaking 21 day water only fasts. When I voiced my concerns I was met with aggression and bullying. I reported it to the Fastic team, they only replied on Twitter lots of others said they struggled to get any responses. They have apparently increased admin and are going to do retraining but I left the group and have asked for a refund as it’s completely toxic and the Fastic team have let the Facebook group get totally out of control to the point that it is dangerous both mentally and physically if you follow it. Keep looking there are lots of other apps out there that do the same thing, I’d avoid this if you value your health! Ps refund apparently not available as Fastic refer you to Apple and Apple won’t refund so don’t waste your money!.Version: 1.18.0

App became way to spammy for purchasesApp has great content, was great, but has become really really pushy for purchases. You’ll get two notifications a day to buy a plan.Version: 1.155.0

This app could be better than Zero but needs more options!!It could be the best intermittent fasting app out there but it lets itself down for 2 main reasons: There is no option for fasts longer than 23 hours, which is silly as us intermittent fasters implement longer fasts as often as weekly and alternate day fasters (as I am) do 36 hours fasts day in day out and so no option for tracking that way either. Yes you can let the clock run over, but it’s not the same and also if you let it run without accessing the app (busy life and all that) it goes on to stop the clock for you!!! No iWatch app, please make that available, this day and age, this should be a given with any major app. The buddy option: it keeps giving the daily task to add a buddy but I have to keep hiding it which gives you somewhat a feeling of failing at what is asked of me but am not interested in sharing this part of my life, maybe this should not be given as a daily task but as a social profile option? Taking into account that I am talking about the premium version, which is not cheap, hope the developers read this and take note. Honestly, if the above points were met, this would surpass Zero and be hand down the best fasting app out there!.Version: 1.42.0

UpgradeI’ve used this app for more than 3 years and was very happy with it in the beginning. With every upgrade there are more challenges. I’m done with it now as over 50% of the time I start my day with a reminder to put my fasting start time in. The issue is most of the time I’ve logged my fasting start time the day before..Version: 1.154.0

WidgetLe widget ne fonctionne plus depuis la dernière mise à jour.Version: 1.66.0

Would be better if it was not a gameThe app is great on many fronts. The aid to keep up with your water intake, the cycle of fasting calculations and the good information it provides alongside your fast. I don’t know anything about the coaches or any of the other paid sort as I’m on the free side. But get this: the app acts like a game! Even if you started your fast, if you did not activate it on the app, the app considers that day a loss. The app, like a game contains fire and stars and ice whatevers that you collect and use to skip days you lost to continue your progress and when you forget to notify the app of your fast and don’t have any ice or in game currency you automatically lose your progress. I get that the game is trying to keep you motivated, but the fact that it doesn’t activate without you checking in on it, ergo it shutting your progress so far because of it makes this app a complete money grab, and useless to say the least. I have only used it for 3 days, and so far it’s proving useful, but if you’re someone who lives life to the fullest and is too busy in the day to check your phone constantly to keep up with the app, then don’t bother. There are many other apps that do just the basics like calculate and time you while you fast! This app is no different when you’re on the free end and don’t bother with the “game” aspect of it....Version: 1.58.0

Doesn’t stop recording fasting.I’ve issued it for all of two days. When I tapped to end fasting, it kept going!!! I’ve tapped to end fasting seven times now and it’s STILL GOING. It doesn’t work. What’s the point of this if it’s not going to work right? It says I’ve fasted for 18.5 hours now. BROKEN..Version: 1.59.0

Intrusive adsWhen they are pestering u with “deals” that seems happen all the time, they have ads that just take over your whole screen. I’d pay for no ads but not a subscription..Version: 1.156.0

DisappointedThe app functioned perfectly for 3 days, then app issues started - disk record information, gave incorrect fasting times despite the correct settings, etc. The AI was very helpful for solutions, and one of them was to contact customer support. I did, and received no response. App issues remained so I deleted the app. With that said, the information provided by app was helpful and the creators really did a good job at making it engaging..Version: 1.142.0

Annoying notifications. It’s a nice app, but even when I’ve paid for the app it keeps pestering me about turning on notifications. Every time I open the app there is a pop up. Even one of the daily routines - every single day - is “turn on notifications.” I don’t want your app to notify me multiple times daily about fasting. When you start fasting a pop up says “remind me! Turn on notifications” that you have to manually close. It’s incredibly frustrating. For a paid app($50!) it’s incredibly annoying the constant pop ups and reminders to turn on notifications. And that’s why I have cancelled my subscription..Version: 1.30.1

App Stopped suddenly. Can’t report the issue.App is very simple to use and I’m using this app since 10 months but suddenly it stopped working. When I try to open the app it shut down immediately. No way to report and issue of troubleshoot. It happened earlier only solution Seems to delete and reinstall the app but I will lose all the progress and frosties earned since starting 😒 otherwise it was really good app and helped me alot with fat loss. Would recommend this app if there is a way to fix the problem..Version: 1.72.0

UnhealthyIt's 2021 and eating disorders and body dysmorphia has practically shaped society today. Apps like these destroy people's self-worth and begin to create an ideal that starving yourself is okay. My first problem with the app is its accessibility to young impressionable children of the age of 12 and up. This is how society has slipped into unhealthy coping mechanisms for decades. Imagine a child who just wants to play a game sees an ad showing an “unhealthy” body. Not only are there already millions of unhealthy examples of this on social media, but by putting this ad on games you are practically manufacturing children and young adults to believe there are right and wrong appearances. Even the exam on just the ad could be the exact healthy weight for a person. So to all the creators of this app you truly disgust me and are only pushing society backward. BMI alone has been proven to be a false measurement of someone's health and you by all means do not get to decide what that looks like. To all the people who are considering downloading this app, I hope you know no matter what society says about “ideal and unideal” body, they are wrong. Endless you are having legit medical problems please see an actual doctor see what the root of the problem is rather than feeding into an active example of propaganda. I encourage you to love yourself and look past what an inappropriate misguided app has to say about it. All bodies are perfect no matter what they look like..Version: 1.78.1
